AI 速览:提出 PhysInsert 框架,通过几何引导适配与双向物体-场景空间监督,实现参考图像驱动的物理合理物体插入。
We present PhysInsert, a framework for physically plausible reference-based object insertion that jointly adapts objects and their surrounding scenes. Existing methods often rely on masked inputs, generation-based pairs, or training pairs with limited viewpoint variation, leaving pose and illumination adaptation and bidirectional object-scene interactions insufficiently constrained. We construct the Insert World dataset with strictly aligned Blender-rendered counterfactual pairs and object references across viewpoints and lighting conditions. Building on these data, Geometry-Guided Adaptation couples a VGGT geometry stream with image and text streams under target-scene feature supervision to guide spatially consistent insertion. Complementary 2D Object-Scene Spatial Supervision jointly supervises object occupancy and environmental changes while grounding spatial instructions in object regions through image-text attention. We introduce PhysInsert-Bench with dedicated cross-environment and cross-view cases requiring illumination and pose adaptation beyond appearance copying. Experiments on PhysInsert-Bench and DreamBooth demonstrate improved image fidelity; a user study further shows more accurate placement and improved lighting integration, perspective, and pose plausibility.

Traffic Anomaly Understanding (TAU) is important for traffic safety in Intelligent Transportation Systems. Recent vision-language models (VLMs) have shown strong capabilities in video understanding. However, progress on TAU remains limited due to the lack of benchmarks and task-specific methodologies. To address this limitation, we introduce Roundabout-TAU, a dataset constructed from real-world roundabout videos collected in collaboration with the City of Carmel, Indiana. The dataset contains 342 clips and is annotated with more than 2,000 question-answer pairs covering multiple aspects of traffic anomaly understanding. Building on this benchmark, we propose TAU-R1, a two-layer vision-language framework for TAU. The first layer is a lightweight anomaly classifier that performs coarse anomaly categorisation, while the second layer is a larger anomaly reasoner that generates detailed event summaries. To improve task-specific reasoning, we introduce a two-stage training strategy consisting of decomposed-QA-enhanced supervised fine-tuning followed by TAU-GRPO, a GRPO-based post-training method with TAU-specific reward functions. Experimental results show that TAU-R1 achieves strong performance on both anomaly classification and reasoning tasks while maintaining deployment efficiency. The dataset and code are available at: https://github.com/siri-rouser/TAU-R1
Real-world forgery is inherently heterogeneous: it manifests not only as digital manipulation but also as physical spoofing, and is carried not only by images but also by videos. Despite substantial progress, a unified anti-forgery foundation model covering such a broad threat spectrum remains absent. In this paper, we present Venus-DefakerOne2, which substantially extends the forensic capability boundary along both the forgery-form and media-type dimensions. Trained on tens of millions of open-source and in-house samples, it incorporates two key designs. Tide-Style-Tuning alternates LoRA and full-parameter fine-tuning to balance computational efficiency, generalization, and hard-sample fitting while mitigating catastrophic forgetting. Entropy-based Test Adaptation determines the optimal prediction modality by analyzing prediction entropy. Venus-DefakerOne2 achieves new state-of-the-art performance across a comprehensive suite of benchmarks, including DeepFake faces (96.7%), AI-generated images (93.3%), tampered documents (87.6%), manipulated natural images (89.6%), physical spoofs (93.1%), and AI-generated videos (96.0%). It significantly outperforms both specialized expert models and its predecessor, DefakerOne, establishing itself as a powerful and versatile foundation model for binary-decision forensic tasks.
Event cameras are increasingly used for Multiple Object Tracking (MOT), but their asynchronous event output often requires specialized methods. Existing processing methods primarily follow two paradigms, pseudo-frames and event-by-event. The former is the prevailing approach since its data format aligns with images, making image-based techniques applicable. However, it suffers from tracking failures when trajectories overlap or are spatially close on pseudo-frames. Facing this challenge, we propose a multi-view pipeline, Multi-view Tracking (MvT), which preserves the 2D data format to leverage image-based techniques directly while introducing additional spatio-temporal views to resolve tracking ambiguities in a single view. MvT comprises a Multi-view Projection (MvP) module and a Multi-view Fusion (MvF) stage. MvP encodes events into three complementary spatio-temporal views while mitigating the pattern discretization. Within MvF, multi-view results are unified into a 3D coordinate system, and tracklets are associated through an optimization model subject to specific criteria combination. Evaluations on four datasets, including our self-collected Small Objects Dataset (SOD), show that MvT seamlessly integrates image-based methods and outperforms existing non-learning and learning trackers in generalized scenarios, and effectively resolves the single-view tracking ambiguities. Being training-free, MvT is applicable when ground-truth annotation is infeasible, thereby highlighting its practical, data-efficient potential. Code is available at https://github.com/zhazhabiu/MvTracking.
Frequency-domain information is beneficial for semantic segmentation. However, existing frequency-based methods often suffer from insufficient frequency utilization, inefficient fusion, and high computational complexity. To address these issues, we propose FGD2HF, a dual-domain fusion network that leverages frequency features to guide spatial-domain fusion and enhancement. Specifically, we introduce a novel Hybrid-Attention Encoder (NAHA) that jointly models local and global relationships through neighborhood and hypergraph attention, enhancing the network's ability to extract effective features. We further introduce a Wavelet Transform and Enhancement (WTE) module to extract and refine low- and high-frequency cues from preceding-stage features, followed by Frequency-guided Dual-domain Fusion (FGDF) modules that use frequency cues to condition current-stage spatial grouping and feature propagation. This design incorporates both global and local frequency guidance into spatial feature modulation, enhancement and fusion with low computational cost. Extensive comparisons with numerous state-of-the-art semantic segmentation methods demonstrate that our method is highly competitive. Our full FGD2HF-B model achieves 48.7% mIoU on ADE20K (+0.3% over SegMAN-B with 18% fewer GFLOPs), 83.2% mIoU on Cityscapes (comparable to SegMAN-B with 21% fewer GFLOPs), and 1.1% higher mIoU than VWFormer-T on SBD with 21% fewer GFLOPs, while also achieving significant improvements in boundary segmentation accuracy.

Multimodal Stance Detection (MSD) is a crucial task for understanding public opinion on social media. Existing methods predominantly operate by learning to fuse modalities. They lack an explicit reasoning process to discern how inter-modal dynamics, such as irony or conflict, collectively shape the user’s final stance, leading to frequent misjudgments. To address this, we advocate for a paradigm shift from learning to fuse to learning to reason. We introduce MIND, a Meta-cognitive Intuitive-reflective Network for Dual-reasoning. Inspired by the dual-process theory of human cognition, MIND operationalizes a self-improving loop. It first generates a rapid, intuitive hypothesis by querying evolving Modality and Semantic Experience Pools. Subsequently, a meta-cognitive reflective stage uses Modality-CoT and Semantic-CoT to scrutinize this initial judgment, distill superior adaptive strategies, and evolve the experience pools themselves. These dual experience structures are continuously refined during training and recalled at inference to guide robust and context-aware stance decisions. Extensive experiments on the MMSD benchmark demonstrate that our MIND significantly outperforms most baseline models and exhibits strong generalization.

Vision-language models are increasingly employed as multimodal conversational agents (MCAs) for diverse conversational tasks. Recently, reinforcement learning (RL) has been widely explored for adapting MCAs to various human-AI interaction scenarios. Despite showing great enhancement in generalization performance, fine-tuning MCAs via RL still faces challenges in handling the extremely large text token space. To address this, we learn a compact latent action space for RL fine-tuning instead. Specifically, we adopt the learning from observation mechanism to construct the codebook for the latent action space, where future observations are leveraged to estimate current latent actions that could further be used to reconstruct future observations. However, the scarcity of paired image-text data hinders learning a codebook with sufficient coverage. Thus, we leverage both paired image-text data and text-only data to construct the latent action space, using a cross-modal projector for transforming text embeddings into image-text embeddings. We initialize the cross-modal projector on paired image-text data, and further train it on massive text-only data with a novel cycle consistency loss to enhance its robustness. We show that our latent action based method outperforms competitive baselines on two conversation tasks across various RL algorithms. Code and data are available at https://github.com/AlibabaResearch/DAMO-ConvAI/tree/main/MMLatentAction.

Dominant multimodal emotion recognition paradigms often neglect the intrinsic geometric structure of affect, resulting in representations heavily entangled with non-affective factors. To address this, we propose a Canonical Disentangled Multimodal Generative Framework aimed at recovering the canonical affective manifold from raw data. We explicitly decompose the latent space into a canonical Shared Affective Subspace (z_{vad}) and a Private Modality Subspace (z_{priv}). We facilitate this factorization through Supervised Manifold Anchoring and Cross-Modal Manifold Alignment. Experiments demonstrate that our model effectively disentangles affect from private attributes (e.g., identity), achieving superior robustness in zero-shot cross-domain transfer compared to fully supervised baselines, while enabling controllable emotion generation.

Vision-Language Models (VLMs) have demonstrated impressive capabilities in code generation across various domains. However, their ability to replicate complex, multi-panel visualizations from real-world data remains largely unassessed. To address this gap, we introduce RealChart2Code, a new large-scale benchmark with over 2,800 instances grounded in authentic datasets and featuring tasks with clear analytical intent. Crucially, it is the first benchmark to systematically evaluate chart generation from large-scale raw data and assess iterative code refinement in a multi-turn conversational setting. Our comprehensive evaluation of 14 leading VLMs on RealChart2Code reveals significant performance degradation compared to simpler benchmarks, highlighting their struggles with complex plot structures and authentic data. Our analysis uncovers a substantial performance gap between proprietary and open-weight models and confirms that even state-of-the-art VLMs often fail to accurately replicate intricate, multi-panel charts. These findings provide valuable insights into the current limitations of VLMs and guide future research directions.

Model Editing, also known as knowledge editing, is receiving increasing attention in the field of Large Language Models (LLMs). However, existing model editing approaches predominantly focus on knowledge-level or static visual domains, overlooking dynamic semantics. This paper exploratively applies six representative model editing methods (FT, IKE, MEND, SERAC, MEMIT and AlphaEdit) to Video Large Language Models (Vid-LLMs) and introduces the first benchmark specifically designed for Vid-LLMs editing—VMEB (Vid-LLMs Model Editing Benchmark)—systematically extending model editing research from static modalities to dynamic video scenarios. We position this work as a forward-looking benchmark and a foundational diagnostic study: in the video paradigm, our evaluation dimensions encompass traditional metrics including Reliability, Locality, and Generality, while also introducing a video-specific metric: Robustness. Based on experimental results, we analyze the strengths and limitations of existing model editing approaches, and identify new challenges and research directions for the future development of the model editing field within the context of multimodal and video paradigms. Our benchmark is available at https://github.com/Sakabamrisa/VMEB.

Unified multimodal models aim to jointly enable visual understanding and generation, yet current benchmarks rarely examine their true integration. Existing evaluations either treat the two abilities in isolation or overlook tasks that inherently couple them. To address this gap, we present Uni-MMMU, a comprehensive and discipline-aware benchmark that systematically unfolds the bidirectional synergy between generation and understanding across eight reasoning-centric domains, including science, coding, mathematics, and puzzles. Each task is bidirectionally coupled, demanding models to (i) leverage conceptual understanding to guide precise visual synthesis, or (ii) utilize generation as a cognitive scaffold for analytical reasoning. Uni-MMMU incorporates verifiable intermediate reasoning steps, unique ground truths, and a reproducible scoring protocol for both textual and visual outputs. Through extensive evaluation of state-of-the-art unified, generation-only, and understanding-only models, we reveal substantial performance disparities and cross-modal dependencies, offering new insights into when and how these abilities reinforce one another, and establishing a reliable foundation for advancing unified models.

With the rise of short-video platforms, hate speech has evolved from static text and memes into more covert and aggressive hateful video formats, profoundly impacting social dynamics and public sentiment. Existing detection methods typically rely on multimodal feature fusion, which blurs the distinct boundaries of modality-specific information. This leads to the feature dilution problem, where dominant benign modalities often overwhelm sparse, localized hateful cues. To address this, we propose SAGE (Synergistic Adaptive Gating of Experts), a novel framework that shifts the paradigm from blind feature mixing to decision-level arbitration. Mimicking human cognitive processes, SAGE instantiates disentangled experts to rigorously preserve modality-specific semantics, facilitates global expert deliberation for context-aware refinement, and convenes an instance-level tribunal to dynamically arbitrate the final verdict based on evidentiary salience. Extensive experiments on HateMM and MultiHateClip benchmarks demonstrate that SAGE significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods, achieving accuracy gains of 6.37% to 21.23% and macro-F1 score gains of 6.77% to 28.01%.
