PhysInsert:基于几何先验与双向物体-场景交互的物理合理物体插入

PhysInsert: Physically Plausible Object Insertion with Geometric Priors and Bidirectional Object-Scene Interactions

AI 速览:提出 PhysInsert 框架,通过几何引导适配与双向物体-场景空间监督,实现参考图像驱动的物理合理物体插入。

We present PhysInsert, a framework for physically plausible reference-based object insertion that jointly adapts objects and their surrounding scenes. Existing methods often rely on masked inputs, generation-based pairs, or training pairs with limited viewpoint variation, leaving pose and illumination adaptation and bidirectional object-scene interactions insufficiently constrained. We construct the Insert World dataset with strictly aligned Blender-rendered counterfactual pairs and object references across viewpoints and lighting conditions. Building on these data, Geometry-Guided Adaptation couples a VGGT geometry stream with image and text streams under target-scene feature supervision to guide spatially consistent insertion. Complementary 2D Object-Scene Spatial Supervision jointly supervises object occupancy and environmental changes while grounding spatial instructions in object regions through image-text attention. We introduce PhysInsert-Bench with dedicated cross-environment and cross-view cases requiring illumination and pose adaptation beyond appearance copying. Experiments on PhysInsert-Bench and DreamBooth demonstrate improved image fidelity; a user study further shows more accurate placement and improved lighting integration, perspective, and pose plausibility.

Blind Video Denoising for Vocal Tract rtMRI using a Self-Supervised Ensemble

Julian Andres Hernandez-Potes, Tomás Arias-Vergara, Daiqi Liu, Andreas Maier, Paula Andrea Perez-Toro

Real-time magnetic resonance imaging of the vocal tract makes speech articulation directly observable, but the trade-off between temporal resolution and signal quality introduces substantial noise and obscures fine articulatory detail. Since clean references cannot be acquired for a moving vocal tract, supervised denoising approaches are not applicable in this setting. We propose a self-supervised denoising framework that combines spatiotemporal super-resolution learning with pseudo-supervision derived from a variance-stabilized non-local means filter. A dual-model fusion strategy balances noise suppression and preservation of high-frequency articulatory structure. Experiments on the USC-75 multi-speaker dataset under natural noise conditions show that the ensemble raises the signal-to-noise ratio by 11.9 dB on unseen subjects while attaining more high-frequency articulatory content in the frames. Among tuned implementations of anisotropic diffusion, block-matching filtering, non-local means and pre-smoothed non-local means, every configuration that achieves comparable noise suppression does so at the cost of high-frequency content or of structural fidelity. Under severe added Gaussian, Rayleigh and Rician noise, peak signal-to-noise ratio improves by 7.6 to 11.8 dB and structural similarity roughly triples. An ablation shows that the variance-stabilized pseudo-supervision is an essential element for denoising, and that the effect is attributable to the hard thresholding contained in the stabilization transform.

CylindTrack: Depth-Aware Cylindrical Motion Modeling for Panoramic Multi-Object Tracking in Mobile Robots

Buyin Deng, Kai Luo, Lingxin Huang, Xinqi Liu, Fei Cheng, Hang Zheng, Liming Yin, Kailun Yang

Maintaining consistent target identities and observation histories is essential for mobile robot perception. Panoramic Multi-Object Tracking (MOT) benefits from broad visual coverage but must address coordinate discontinuities at the equirectangular image seam and fluctuations in relative-depth estimates. Such fluctuations can undermine depth-aware association, highlighting the need for temporally consistent depth cues. We propose CylindTrack, a depth-aware cylindrical tracking-by-detection framework that jointly models panoramic topology and temporal depth consistency. Depth-Temporal Trajectory Modeling (DTM) maintains instance depth and its rate of change as filtered trajectory states. Spherical Spatio-Temporal Consistency Learning (SSTC) combines a Temporal Mixer with Spherical Geometry-aware Attention to refine depth-aware representations. A Topology-Aware Cylindrical Motion Model (TCMM) represents horizontal motion in an unwrapped angular state and incorporates periodic overlap, angular consistency, and filtered depth cues into association. Experiments on QuadTrack and JRDB demonstrate improved identity consistency and trajectory continuity, with HOTA scores of 33.67 and 31.12 and IDF1 scores of 40.45 and 34.33, respectively. The framework processes 28.56 and 21.34 frames per second, respectively, on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 GPU under the reported evaluation settings. These results support persistent panoramic multi-object tracking for mobile robot perception. The source code will be released at https://github.com/warriordby/CylindTrack.

A Two-Stage Shape- and Motion-Aware Framework for mmWave-based Human Mesh Recovery

Hoang Hai Pham, Shuntian Zheng, Jiaqi Li, Yu Guan

Millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar has emerged as a promising sensing modality for human perception, offering robustness under challenging environmental conditions and strong privacy preservation. However, recovering accurate 3D human meshes from radar is difficult for two reasons: radar tensors contain significant environmental clutter, and each frame observes only part of the body surface. These challenges demand opposite operations, removing measured energy that does not belong to the body versus inferring geometry the sensor never measured. Yet previous works typically entangle both within a single network, with the mesh objective as the main supervision. We instead reformulate radar-based mesh recovery as two explicitly supervised sub-problems. A signal-level separation stage isolates body-related voxels through coarse-to-fine localization and voxel-wise segmentation, trained with visibility derived voxel labels. A structure-level reconstruction stage then recovers the body from this partial observation using a dual-branch network that jointly models per-frame shape and inter-frame motion. Experiments show that our method reduces mesh error by up to 9.1% over the strongest baseline while using over 10 $\times$ fewer parameters. Are Watermarked Images Editable? SafeMark for Watermark-Preserving Text-Guided Image Editing

Xiaodong Wu, Qi Li, Xiangman Li, Zelin Zhang, Lingshuang Liu, Jianbing Ni

This paper investigates a fundamental yet underexplored question: can watermarked images remain editable without compromising watermark integrity? We propose SafeMark, a framework for watermark-preserving text-guided image manipulation that explicitly integrates watermark integrity into the editing process. Specifically, SafeMark adds a thresholded watermark-decoding loss directly to the diffusion editor's training objective, fine-tuning the editor so that semantically valid edits also preserve the embedded watermark at the final output. This design admits a clean information-theoretic justification: maintaining high bit-accuracy on the edited image lower-bounds the mutual information that the editor channel preserves between watermark and edited output, the quantity that fundamentally controls watermark recoverability. SafeMark is compatible with differentiable diffusion-based editors, and requires no architectural modification. Extensive evaluations across multiple datasets, text-guided editing methods, and post-edit distortion settings demonstrate that SafeMark achieves high watermark bit accuracy across diverse editing settings while maintaining high-quality semantic edits, without sacrificing robustness to common post-edit distortions. These results demonstrate that semantic editability and watermark integrity are fundamentally compatible, enabling trustworthy image provenance in generative editing pipelines.

AxisQ: Depth-Adaptive Channel--Frequency Quantization for Camouflaged Object Detection

Chi Ruan, Tianqi Li, Xin He, Xue Geng, Ming-Ming Cheng, Yun Liu

Camouflaged object detection (COD) depends on weak texture and boundary cues that can be destroyed by aggressive post-training quantization (PTQ). Existing PTQ methods mainly optimize quantizers or reconstruct network blocks, while using a single precision-allocation domain throughout hierarchical backbones. Instead, we introduce AxisQ, a depth-adaptive bit-allocation framework motivated by the observation that the useful allocation axis changes with feature depth. Under a fixed per-layer average activation-bit budget, AxisQ allocates precision in the channel domain for shallow features and in the local-frequency domain for deep features, using COD-aware sensitivity to better preserve subtle foreground regions and ambiguous boundaries. We also formulate a boundary-aware Hessian approximation for reconstruction by incorporating boundary-weighted gradient and error statistics. Experiments across multiple COD models and diverse benchmarks demonstrate improved accuracy over the strongest baselines at low bit widths, with relative weighted F-measure gains of 12.7% for CFRN and 33.3% for CamoFormer-P on CAMO under W2A2 quantization. These results support adapting the allocation domain to feature depth as a transferable quantization strategy for hierarchical COD models.

Hy-Nomas: Towards Free-form Interactive World Generation

Qiaoling Chen, Jiaxiang Cheng, Xueqing Deng, Tiankai Hang, Ji Hou, Jiaqi Li, Yifan Liu, Tao Lu 等 38 位作者

Interactive world generation requires models to follow successive commands while preserving relevant history and action consequences. We present Hy-Nomas, a video world model with an 8B diffusion backbone that supports free-form text instructions and continuous camera control across multiple interaction turns. It generates variable-length segments conditioned on current inputs and cached history. Our central design aligns structured video captions with action-aware causal attention: descriptive context remains accessible across segments, while action instructions are restricted to their intended temporal windows. A vision-language Prompt Enhancer (PE) translates user requests and multimodal interaction histories into structured conditions for the next segment. A multi-stage curriculum progressively introduces causal generation, text interaction, camera control, and training on model-generated histories, followed by diffusion distillation. In human evaluation, Hy-Nomas shows superior performance over existing world models. We release model weights, code and benchmarks, together with a lightweight adaptation workflow, to support reproducible research on interactive world generation.

Training-Free Inference Acceleration for Video Large Language Models: Methods, Trade-offs, and Evaluation

Yuqi Li, Chuanyue Yan, Neil Rodrigues, Xianglong Wang, Xiaoqin Feng, Junming Liu, Xi Xiao, Zhongwei Cheng 等 11 位作者

Video Large Language Models (VLMs) have demonstrated strong capabilities in video understanding and reasoning, but processing long visual sequences incurs substantial computational, latency, and memory overhead. This survey examines training-free inference acceleration, focusing on reducing inference costs while preserving task-relevant spatiotemporal evidence. We organize existing methods by their intervention stages in the inference pipeline, covering input, visual encoding, projector, prefill, and decoding. Post-training quantization (PTQ) is discussed separately as a cross-stage extension with varying calibration requirements. We analyze how intervention position affects evidence preservation and computational savings, and why local efficiency improvements may not translate into end-to-end acceleration. We complement this analysis with quantitative evidence from prior studies and our own experiments under a shared evaluation setting to assess accuracy-latency trade-offs.

Task Relevance-Driven Prompt Expansion for Federated Continual Learning

Jiahua Dong, Wenqi Liang, Yang Cong, Yichen Li, Hongyuan Yu, Henghui Ding, Yulun Zhang, Salman Khan 等 9 位作者

Federated continual learning (FCL) has attracted considerable interest by enabling local clients to continually acquire knowledge from new tasks. However, most FCL methods assume that the global server has prior knowledge of the arrival times and number of categories for new tasks, which is unrealistic in the real world. Furthermore, they neglect the importance of positive inter-task semantic relationships when learning new tasks and are significantly affected by irrelevant relationships from old tasks, thereby exacerbating catastrophic forgetting. To resolve the above challenges, we develop a novel Task Relevance-driven Prompt Expansion (TRPE) model. Specifically, to eliminate the reliance on prior knowledge of new tasks, we propose an out-of-distribution detector to identify the arrival of new tasks within local clients, along with a radius-adaptive DBSCAN to infer the quantity of categories in new tasks on the proxy server. Moreover, to explore positive inter-task relationships, we calculate the affinity between the original gradient for learning new task and its gradient orthogonal to the feature space of old tasks to evaluate semantic relevance between old and new tasks from a global perspective. Then, we use this global task relevance to determine the key-prompt pair for new tasks and identify highly related old tasks. After concatenating their prompts for training, we can leverage such positive inter-task relations to improve the continual learning of newly arriving tasks. To balance the learning of new tasks and the forgetting of old ones, a soft orthogonality constraint is applied to the local key and prompt gradients. Experiments spanning diverse datasets and backbones confirm the efficacy of our TRPE model.

TEMA: Anchor the Image, Follow the Text for Multi-Modification Composed Image Retrieval

Zixu Li Shandong University, Yupeng Hu, Zhiheng Fu, Zhiwei Chen Shandong University, Yongqi Li Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Liqiang Nie Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) and Shandong University

Composed Image Retrieval (CIR) is an important image retrieval paradigm that enables users to retrieve a target image using a multimodal query that consists of a reference image and modification text. Although research on CIR has made significant progress, prevailing setups still rely simple modification texts that typically cover only a limited range of salient changes, which induces two limitations highly relevant to practical applications, namely Insufficient Entity Coverage and Clause-Entity Misalignment. In order to address these issues and bring CIR closer to real-world use, we construct two instruction-rich multi-modification datasets, M-FashionIQ and M-CIRR. In addition, we propose TEMA, the Text-oriented Entity Mapping Architecture, which is the first CIR framework designed for multi-modification while also accommodating simple modifications. Extensive experiments on four benchmark datasets demonstrate that TEMA’s superiority in both original and multi-modification scenarios, while maintaining an optimal balance between retrieval accuracy and computational efficiency. Our codes and constructed multi-modification dataset (M-FashionIQ and M-CIRR) are available at https://github.com/lee-zixu/ACL26-TEMA/

Controlling Multimodal Conversational Agents with Coverage-Enhanced Latent Actions

Yongqi Li, Hao Lang, Tieyun Qian Wuhan University, Yongbin Li Alibaba Group

Vision-language models are increasingly employed as multimodal conversational agents (MCAs) for diverse conversational tasks. Recently, reinforcement learning (RL) has been widely explored for adapting MCAs to various human-AI interaction scenarios. Despite showing great enhancement in generalization performance, fine-tuning MCAs via RL still faces challenges in handling the extremely large text token space. To address this, we learn a compact latent action space for RL fine-tuning instead. Specifically, we adopt the learning from observation mechanism to construct the codebook for the latent action space, where future observations are leveraged to estimate current latent actions that could further be used to reconstruct future observations. However, the scarcity of paired image-text data hinders learning a codebook with sufficient coverage. Thus, we leverage both paired image-text data and text-only data to construct the latent action space, using a cross-modal projector for transforming text embeddings into image-text embeddings. We initialize the cross-modal projector on paired image-text data, and further train it on massive text-only data with a novel cycle consistency loss to enhance its robustness. We show that our latent action based method outperforms competitive baselines on two conversation tasks across various RL algorithms. Code and data are available at https://github.com/AlibabaResearch/DAMO-ConvAI/tree/main/MMLatentAction.

Automatic and Reliable Evaluation for Academic Caption-to-Figure Generation with LMMs

Guanghui Ye Hunan University, Huan Zhao Hunan University, Qin Zhu, Fengnan Li, Jiaqi Li, Yixian Shen, Zhonghao Ren, Zhihua Jiang

Existing datasets for evaluating text-to-image generation focus mostly on real-life images, which poses challenges for assessing academicfigure generation given real scientific captions, which is a hot topic in AI for Science. To fill the gap, we propose HE4AFG, a novel datasetwhich first provides a Holistic Evaluation for Academic caption-to-Figure Generation (AFG). Specifically, HE4AFG collects real figure captions from 8 scientific domains and finally generates 3,900 evaluation samples (particularly, including multi-panel figures) using 5 mainstream large multimodal models (LMMs). For each sample, we provide high-quality human ratings in terms of three aspects—scientific aesthetic (SA), topic relevance (TR), and attribute correctness (AC). Moreover, we present two trainable models: (1) HE4AFG-E, an automated Evaluation model for AFG, which generates aspect-aware training examples and then use them to train three aspect-specific evaluation modules via contrastive learning; (2) HE4AFG-R, an automated Refinement model, which generates and utilizes feedback on the quality of the figures (e.g., unfaithful elements) to continuously improve AFG. Extensive experiments on HE4AFG demonstrate the effectiveness and performance advantages of our models.

OS-Sentinel: Towards Safety-Enhanced Mobile GUI Agents via Hybrid Validation in Realistic Workflows

Qiushi Sun University of Hong Kong, Mukai Li, Zhoumianze Liu, Zhihui Xie University of Hong Kong, Fangzhi Xu Xi'an Jiaotong University, Zhangyue Yin, Kanzhi Cheng Nanjing University, Zehao Li University of Science and Technology of China 等 14 位作者

Computer-using agents powered by Vision-Language Models (VLMs) have demonstrated human-like capabilities in operating digital environments like mobile platforms. While these agents hold great promise for advancing digital automation, their potential for unsafe operations, such as system compromise and privacy leakage, is raising significant concerns. Detecting these safety concerns across the vast and complex operational space of mobile environments presents a formidable challenge that remains critically underexplored. To establish a foundation for mobile agent safety research, we introduce MobileRisk-Live, a dynamic sandbox environment accompanied by a safety detection benchmark comprising realistic trajectories with fine-grained annotations. Built upon this, we propose OS-Sentinel, a novel hybrid safety detection framework that synergistically combines a Formal Verifier for detecting explicit system-level violations with a VLM-based Contextual Judge for assessing contextual risks and agent actions. Experiments show that achieves 10%–30% improvements over existing approaches across multiple metrics. Further analysis provides critical insights that foster the development of safer and more reliable autonomous mobile agents. Our code, environment, and data are available at https://qiushisun.github.io/OS-Sentinel-Home/.

SGPVT: Self-Generated Proximal Visual Tokens for Mitigating Proximal Collateral Damage in MLLM Unlearning

Jiaqi Li, Zhijing Zhang, Jiahui Geng Linköping University, Sheng Bi Southeast University, Chuanyi Zhang Hohai University, Fan Liu Hohai University, Guilin Qi

Machine unlearning in multimodal large language models (MLLMs) aims to remove specific concepts while preserving overall utility. However, existing approaches focus primarily on general utility metrics, overlooking the preservation of semantically related concepts. We present the first systematic analysis of this proximal collateral damage, revealing that forgetting vulnerability correlates strongly with visual embedding similarity in a smooth gradient across the semantic space. Based on this insight, we propose a novel unlearning framework that introduces Self-Generated Proximal Visual Tokens (SGPVTs), which are synthetically perturbed visual representations around the target concept. Our method employs an adaptive cosine-band curriculum with a dual-stream objective: forgetting the target via gradient ascent while distilling knowledge from a frozen teacher model into proximal tokens to prevent degradation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our approach significantly outperforms existing methods in preserving semantically related concepts while achieving effective target unlearning, eliminating the need for manual retention set curation. Our source code will be released in the near future.

Where and What: Reasoning Dynamic and Implicit Preferences in Situated Conversational Recommendation

Dongding Lin, Jian Wang The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Yongqi Li Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Wenjie Li The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Situated conversational recommendation (SCR), which utilizes visual scenes grounded in specific environments and natural language dialogue to deliver contextually appropriate recommendations, has emerged as a promising research direction due to its close alignment with real-world scenarios. Compared to traditional recommendations, SCR requires a deeper understanding of dynamic and implicit user preferences, as the surrounding scene often influences users’ underlying interests, while both may evolve across conversations. This complexity significantly impacts the timing and relevance of recommendations. To address this, we propose situated preference reasoning (SiPeR), a novel framework that integrates two core mechanisms: (1) Scene transition estimation, which estimates whether the current scene satisfies user needs, and guides the user toward a more suitable scene when necessary; and (2) Bayesian inverse inference, which leverages the likelihood of multimodal large language models (MLLMs) to predict user preferences about candidate items within the scene. Extensive experiments on two representative benchmarks demonstrate SiPeR’s superiority in both recommendation accuracy and response generation quality. The code and data are available at https://github.com/DongdingLin/SiPeR.

Towards Mitigating Modality Bias in Vision-Language Models for Temporal Action Localization

Jiaqi Li, Guangming Wang University of Cambridge, Shuntian Zheng The University of Warwick, Minzhe Ni, Xiaoman Lu, Guanghui Ye Hunan University, Yu Guan University of Warwick

Temporal Action Localization (TAL) requires identifying both the boundaries and categories of actions in untrimmed videos. While vision-language models (VLMs) offer rich semantics to complement visual evidence, existing approaches tend to overemphasize linguistic priors at the expense of visual performance, leading to a pronounced modality bias. We propose ActionVLM, a vision-language aggregation framework that systematically mitigates modality bias in TAL. Our key insight is to preserve vision as the dominant signal while adaptively exploiting language only when beneficial. To this end, we introduce (i) a debiasing reweighting module that estimates the language advantage—the incremental benefit of language over vision-only predictions—and dynamically reweights language modality accordingly, and (ii) a residual aggregation strategy that treats language as a complementary refinement rather than the primary driver. This combination alleviates modality bias, reduces overconfidence from linguistic priors, and strengthens temporal reasoning. Experiments on THUMOS14 show that our model outperforms state-of-the-art by up to 3.2% mAP. Our code is available at https://github.com/JiaqiLi404/ActionVLM
