AI 速览:作者构建了包含69.7K片段、1,655小时、约3.5亿帧的分钟级游戏视频数据集GameVerse,用于支撑长时程交互式世界模型训练。

Recent advances in interactive world models have made it possible to generate controllable, dynamic environments from action inputs. Yet current models struggle to maintain coherence beyond roughly one minute of rollout, a limitation rooted not in model capacity but in the scarcity of long-horizon training data. Existing gameplay video datasets typically consist of clips under ten seconds, with captions that describe whole clips in coarse and undifferentiated text, which is insufficient for controllable long-horizon generation. We address this with GameVerse, a minute-scale gameplay video dataset purpose-built for long-horizon interactive world modeling. GameVerse contains 69.7K clips spanning 1,655 hours and 349.6 million frames across diverse first- and third-person gameplay, including 1,358 hours of continuous two-minute sequences, an order of magnitude longer than prior datasets. Clips pass through a unified pipeline of scene-consistent segmentation, quality filtering, camera pose estimation, and event-based caption annotation. Each clip is paired with a temporally stable camera trajectory that remains coherent across minutes, together with captions that separate static scene context from dynamic foreground events and align to event boundaries rather than fixed time windows. Comprehensive analysis shows that GameVerse surpasses existing public datasets in scale, diversity, and annotation quality. Experiments further demonstrate that training on GameVerse substantially extends the temporal horizon of interactive world models.

Intrinsic Distribution Matching

Deyuan Liu, Yansen Han, Kaiwen Zheng, Jun Xie, Jiacheng Liu, Zhenglin Cheng, Peng Sun, Jintao Zhang 等 10 位作者

One-step and few-step text-to-image generation must accurately render the details specified in the prompt despite limited opportunities for refinement. Distribution matching distillation (DMD) uses score differences to bring the generated distribution closer to a reference distribution. Following prior work, we estimate this difference with internal velocity branches, avoiding a separate fake-score network. We ask whether an explicit moment constraint improves this learned score supervision. A decomposition of the reverse-KL field into a Gaussian moment component and a non-Gaussian residual identifies statistics that can be constrained explicitly. We introduce Intrinsic Distribution Matching (IDM), which retains the full DMD correction and matches feature means and per-coordinate standard deviations using the generator's exponential-moving-average (EMA) copy, requiring no external feature encoder. Experiments use full-parameter and low-rank adaptation (LoRA) tuning on Z-Image-Turbo 6B and Qwen-Image 20B. At two network evaluations, IDM reaches 94.25% and 90.20% on Chinese and English LongText-Bench, the highest scores among the compared methods at this budget. Controlled ablations show gains from the added moment loss, while generator EMA features perform competitively with an external DINOv2 encoder across the five reported metrics. Code is available at https://github.com/inclusionAI/IDM.

FutureWorld: A Plug-and-Play Causal Next-State Predictor for Interactive Video World Exploration

Guangyuan Li, Kelu Yao, Shuolin Xu, Xinlei Yu, Wei Xing, Lei Zhao, Peng-Tao Jiang, Xiaogang Xu 等 9 位作者

Interactive video world models aim to follow user actions while maintaining scene consistency over extended interactions. History-based methods reuse generated latents to preserve scene content, but three limitations of this reuse contribute to error recirculation. 1) The latent generated at each interaction is retained as history, potentially containing blurred details, geometric distortions, or semantic drift. 2) Although retrieved historical content matches the current scene, it can still contain errors that are carried into the next chunk. 3) New outputs then become history for later interactions, potentially reinforcing the same errors through repeated reuse. To limit this cycle, we aim to predict the future scene state from the current generated latent and the next action before generating the next interaction's video chunk. This future-state prior provides guidance for the next chunk, with the aim of reducing the errors carried forward from history. To this end, we propose a plug-and-play Causal Next-Chunk Predictor (C-NCP) with cross-model adaptability and prediction-guided modulation. We integrate C-NCP into four base generators and evaluate the augmented models across three benchmarks for interactive long-video generation and action-conditioned world modeling. Extensive experiments demonstrate reduced error accumulation and improved long-horizon consistency across diverse generation settings. BRIDGE: Learning Brain-Gut Metabolic Evidence for Alzheimer's Disease Diagnosis

Pengli Zhu, Ruxi Chang, Tianliang Yao, Yu Jiang, Shengyuan Liu, Yiyang Lin, Xiaoyi Duan, Shuang Wu 等 10 位作者

Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnosis may benefit from gut metabolic information associated with brain-gut interactions, yet existing models largely analyze cerebral glucose metabolism alone. Although whole-body fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) can provide paired brain-gut observations, routine brain examinations rarely include gut imaging, limiting direct use of this information for diagnosis. In this paper, we present BRIDGE (Brain and Gut Representation Integration via Distribution-Guided Enhancement), a two-stage framework for transferring brain-gut metabolic knowledge to brain-only diagnosis. Specifically, BRIDGE integrates a conditional brain-to-gut latent transport module and a disease-evidence-guided cerebral pathway to capture subject-specific cross-organ correspondence and disease-relevant cerebral representations. For the cerebral pathway, a large language model (LLM) helps organize literature-derived descriptors into human-approved semantic anchors that guide feature learning. Additionally, we introduce a counterfactual-guided residual fusion mechanism, which uses matched and non-matched virtual-gut evidence to supervise a confidence gate and dynamically regulate the contribution of transported cross-organ information. At inference, BRIDGE exploits complementary gut-related context using brain PET alone, without measured gut PET. Extensive experiments across public and private cohorts demonstrate that BRIDGE outperforms brain-only and cross-organ baselines, achieving AUC gains of 6.0% and 5.2% over its brain-only counterpart for CN/MCI and CN/AD diagnosis, respectively. Notably, its ability to transfer complementary brain-gut metabolic context while preserving brain PET as the sole inference input highlights its potential for clinically practical diagnosis. Our code is available at https://github.com/CUHK-AIM-Group/BRIDGE.

TKCAM: Text and Keyframe to Camera Trajectory Generation

Haozhe Yang, Zhiyang Dou, Zekai Gu, Cheng Lin, Wenping Wang, Yuan Liu, Taku Komura

Generating high-quality and controllable camera motion is essential for AI-assisted cinematography, video synthesis, and 3D scene understanding. We introduce TKCAM, a Text- and Keyframe-conditioned CAMera-motion synthesis framework based on generative masked modeling. We represent camera dynamics using a 12-dimensional kinematic feature comprising position, velocity, and a continuous rotation representation and discretize them into hierarchical motion tokens via a Residual Vector Quantizer (RVQ). A two-stage masked transformer architecture then learns to reconstruct and refine these tokens, utilizing explicit self- and cross-attention modules for multimodal conditioning. A central feature of our framework is sparse visual keyframe conditioning: users can provide free-form text prompts together with RGB observations at selected timestamps, which provide temporally localized visual guidance for generating coherent in-between trajectories. Furthermore, to advance evaluation standards, we curate RealEstate10K-Cap, a large-scale text-camera dataset, and establish a cross-domain benchmark with a Universal CLaTr Evaluator. Extensive experiments demonstrate that TKCAM surpasses recent state-of-the-art baselines on Fréchet distance (FID), text-motion matching scores, and retrieval metrics (R@K), while additional analyses evaluate temporal smoothness and cross-domain generalization. Code and RealEstate10K-Cap dataset are available at https://github.com/linearalgebrayhz/TKCAM.

GradSplat: Gradients Inside the Forward Pass for Feed-Forward 3D Gaussian Splatting

Jingong Chen, Linlian Jiang, Guangyuan Li, Xinxin Zuo, Yang Wang, Chulwoo Pack, Kyle Gao, Kwanghee Won

Feed-forward 3D Gaussian Splatting predicts a scene from a few images, but our predictor is less accurate than its own Gaussians optimized per scene on those images. This gap lies mostly in the shape of the Gaussians, their scale and rotation, since optimizing the shape alone recovers almost all of it and opacity and color recover less. Gradient steps on the input views correct this shape, and the model holds these views at inference. Log-anisotropy correction changes the axis ratios of each Gaussian in log space at constant volume, and in-forward gradient refinement renders the Gaussians into the input views and applies the gradient of the photometric loss with a learned recurrent update, first to opacity and color and then to the shape. GradSplat is a feed-forward model that refines its own Gaussians by learned gradient steps inside its forward pass, with no target view. On both complete six-view RealEstate10K protocols, it has the best PSNR and SSIM among nine methods and keeps its accuracy from $6$ to $42$ input views. Without fine-tuning, it is the most accurate on DL3DV and has the best PSNR and SSIM on ScanNet++. The code will be released at https://github.com/Jingong-Chen/GradSplat/.

ReferStream: Interactive Subject Injection for Streaming Video Generation

Shuolin Xu, Guanyuan Li, Boyu Li, Kelu Yao, Xiaogang Xu, Hongchuan Yu, Shuicheng Yan, Xiaobin Hu

Injecting new subjects naturally during streaming video generation requires integrating newly supplied visual references into the existing video while preserving established subjects and the scene. Encoding references independently of the current scene provides little guidance for this integration, while keeping their features in persistent memory can interfere with established context. We propose ReferStream, a framework that requires no additional training and combines reference construction using the current scene with transient cache injection. Joint Latent places reference latents in target regions of the latest scene latent, allowing reference features to be extracted in context. Cache Restoration uses these features to condition the injection chunk, then restores the overwritten global cache entries while retaining the newly generated history. This procedure incorporates new visual conditions without retraining the generator or revising emitted frames. We further introduce ReferStream Bench, a new benchmark with scheduled reference arrivals, evolving instructions, and explicit annotations of subject presence for InShot and MultiShot generation. Evaluation follows the event schedule and measures both the fidelity of new subjects and the preservation of established subjects, alongside video quality, text adherence, and count accuracy. Experiments on ReferStream Bench show higher scores for text adherence, subject similarity, and count accuracy than the compared baselines, including offline methods given all references in advance. Forget the Data, Keep the Capability: Switchable Unlearning for Retrieval

Jingong Chen, Kyle Gao, Guangyuan Li, Chulwoo Pack, Sijia Liu, Kwanghee Won

Privacy compliance requires re-identification models to selectively forget individuals while preserving their ability to recognize others. For this, we present MoME, a switchable framework that can adapt pre-trained backbones for privacy compliance, allowing the same model to switch between Full mode for standard inference and Core mode for unlearned inference. MoME splits one backbone into core parameters that preserve retrieval and zero-initialized parasitic parameters that carry the full-data knowledge, and training them under gradient isolation so the core never receives a forget-set gradient. Disabling the branch yields Core, which satisfies a request to delete a person's training data, and enabling it yields Full, which retains what the deleted data taught, so honoring the request is a flag flip rather than a retraining run. We prove Core independent of the forget set up to an audited set of coupling channels and introduce the rank-based Forgetting-Rank statistic to audit that independence in a trained model. On Market-1501, VeRi-776 and RegDB, Core reads at a retrained reference under three membership attacks while retrieving above it, and the retrieval advantage carries to ResNet and CLIP backbones. Code and weights are available at https://github.com/Jingong-Chen/MoME.

Confident First, Reflective Second: Reinforcement Learning of Confidence-Preserving Reflection for Video Understanding

Zihao Lin, Jingyuan Liu, Yucheng Zhang, Yuguang Yao, Lifu Huang

Video models answer from sampled frames and may miss the decisive moment. A common remedy is to commit to an answer, re-examine the video, and confirm or revise it, a loop now mainly learned with reinforcement learning (RL). We find that RL erodes the initial answer, a phenomenon we term confidence erosion, where confidence means the label-verified reliability of the initial answer instead of self-reported certainty: because errors can be repaired later, a correct initial answer earns less reward, and the initial answer stalls even as the final answer's gain over it rises. We propose the principle confident first, reflective second: the initial answer must stay reliable on its own, above a floor set by a reference policy, and reflection may only add to it. Our method, CoFire, implements this principle with one mechanism for each erosion channel: reward incentives, parameter drift, and gradient interference. CoFire reaches 67.0% mean accuracy on Video-MME, MLVU, and LongVideoBench, 1.7 points above the strongest compared 7B method, and improves initial-answer and final accuracy over outcome-reward RL by 4.1 and 3.7 points on average: a stronger initial answer carries through to a stronger final one.

WorldArena 2.0: Extending Embodied World Model Benchmarking on Modality, Functionality and Platform

Zhuohang Li, Yiding Ma, Yu Shang, Lei Jin, Shengyuan Wang, Jianjie Fang, Zhaolu Wang, Xvyuan Liu 等 29 位作者

World models have emerged as a central paradigm for embodied intelligence, enabling agents to predict action-conditioned future and reason about environmental dynamics. However, existing embodied world model benchmarks are still largely confined to vision-only prediction, offline embodied applications, and simulator-based evaluation, making them insufficient for assessing increasingly comprehensive world models. In this work, we introduce WorldArena 2.0, an expanded benchmark that systematically broadens embodied world model evaluation along three dimensions: modality, functionality, and platform. Along the modality dimension, WorldArena 2.0 extends evaluation from vision-only to visuotactile modalities, enabling assessment of multimodal perception and prediction. Along the functionality dimension, it extends beyond policy evaluation and planning to assess world models as interactive RL environments for policy optimization. Along the platform dimension, it moves beyond simulator-only evaluation to a diverse suite of simulated and real-world robotic settings across multiple embodiments. Under a standardized protocol, WorldArena 2.0 comprehensively evaluates perceptual quality, interactive utility, and cross-platform performance, providing a comprehensive testbed for tracking progress toward embodied world models. The project page including codes and demos is available at: https://world-arena.ai/.

Temporal Slice Learning for AI-Generated Video Detection with 400$\times$ Fewer FLOPs

Wei Shang, Zhiyuan Li, Shengfeng He

Recent advances in generative video models have improved visual realism, making detection increasingly dependent on subtle temporal inconsistencies. However, these signals are weak and spatially localized, while most of the video content is redundant. This creates a fundamental mismatch: existing detectors rely on heavy backbones to model full videos, which leads to high computational cost and limited scalability. In this work, we rethink AI-generated video detection from a representation perspective. Instead of modeling entire videos, we restructure them into compact temporal slice representations that isolate informative temporal evolution. We introduce a lightweight framework using frequency-aware temporal slice consistency learning, where informative spatial rows and columns are aggregated over time to form slice-domain inputs. This reparameterization suppresses redundant appearance while preserving discriminative temporal dynamics, enabling efficient and targeted detection. By constructing slices from both high- and low-frequency regions, our method exposes complementary temporal artifacts, including unstable details and abnormal motion smoothness. We instantiate this idea in a Temporal Slice Consistency Network, which integrates task-driven slice localization, hierarchical positional encoding, and a lightweight Transformer to model cross-slice and cross-frequency dependencies. We further introduce AI-Artist, a new benchmark with artist-curated videos from recent high-fidelity generators, including Seedance and Kling. Experiments on GenVideo and AI-Artist show that our method achieves strong performance while requiring over 400$\times$ fewer model-forward FLOPs and 3.6$\times$ faster model inference than the strong video-based baseline ReStraV (2.9$\times$ faster end to end, including preprocessing), enabling scalable and practical deployment.

Supervising the Visible State: Separating Representation from View Selection in Streaming Video

Yihao Hu, Pan Wang, Yitong Lin, Zhihao Wen, Deyuan Liu, Hang Wang, Mingda Wan, Yiwen Zhao 等 11 位作者

An action seen once and the same action seen three times receive the same action-recognition label, so that supervision does not require a model to count. Answers shared across histories that differ in event order, accumulation, or relations leave those distinctions unconstrained; we call this state under-specification. Visible-State Supervision (ViSS) addresses it by training on source-grounded probes of event identity, order, accumulation, relation change, and answer sufficiency; under the same recent-frame interface it improves OVO-Bench over a strict-matched generic temporal supervision baseline while remaining comparable on StreamingBench, with the largest gain in hallucination detection. Test-Time Causal View Search (TVS) then adapts evidence access while keeping the learned model fixed, expanding from recent frames to sparse event and compact history views on demand. The two interventions separate representation from view selection: supervision particularly benefits hallucination detection and causal reasoning, access particularly benefits event recall and forward reasoning. Together they reach the best reported accuracy among the published systems compared here on StreamingBench and OVO-Bench at a fraction of the processed frames of exhaustive selection, and strict replay shows that most of the remaining gap to a three-view oracle is a correct answer that was later replaced. Streaming accuracy depends on what supervision asks the model to keep, what evidence inference exposes, and whether the model keeps a correct answer once it has one.

Towards Spatio-Temporal Intelligence Systems in Urban Space: A Twin-Agent Perspective

Zhen Dong, Haiping Wang, Wei Tu, Yuan Liu, Bing Wang, Xuan Sun, Jinzhou Cao, Ronald Clark 等 17 位作者

Cities must coordinate domains like infrastructure, mobility, environmental management, emergency response, and public services as conditions evolve. An urban Spatio-Temporal Intelligence (STI) system helps the city monitor citywide states, analyze problems, plan and execute interventions, and adapt through feedback, making urban governance more timely, effective, and transparent. Recent urban twinning and agentic AI techniques provide foundations for such systems. From a twin-agent perspective, this survey takes a system-level view of how these disparate techniques can be coherently integrated into an urban STI system. Specifically, we review how the twin reconstructs and represents a persistent, information-enriched urban environment, and how the agent understands the twin via interfaces, reasons over it, acts reliably, and continuously evolves with the city. Built upon this synthesis, we summarize a two-loop blueprint, where an inner agent loop for grounding, reasoning, and verification, and an outer system loop linking data, twin, agentic action, feedback, and update. We then use this to structure an STI research agenda and show how a shared prototype supports diverse urban domains.

FMC-DETR: Frequency-Decoupled Multi-Domain Coordination for Aerial-View Object Detection

Ben Liang, Hongguang Wei, Yuan Liu, Bingwen Qiu, Yihong Wang, Xiubao Sui, Qian Chen

Remote sensing object detection is a critical technology for real-world applications such as natural resource monitoring, traffic management, and UAV-based rescue. Detecting tiny objects in high-resolution aerial imagery remains challenging due to weak visual cues and insufficient global context modeling in complex scenes. Existing methods often suffer from delayed contextual interaction and limited nonlinear reasoning, which restrict their ability to effectively refine shallow representations and ultimately lead to suboptimal performance. To address these challenges, we propose FMC-DETR, a frequency-decoupled fusion framework for aerial-view object detection. First, we propose the Wavelet Kolmogorov-Arnold Transformer (WeKat) backbone, which employs cascaded wavelet transforms to enhance global low-frequency structure perception in shallow features while preserving fine-grained details, and further leverages Kolmogorov-Arnold networks for adaptive nonlinear modeling of multi-scale dependencies. Second, we introduce the Multi-Domain Feature Coordination (MDFC) module, which refines cross-scale fused representations through partial-channel spatial, spectral, and structural coordination, thereby strengthening small-object-related feature responses in cluttered scenes. Finally, we design the Compact Partial Fusion (CPF) module, which performs compact multi-branch aggregation with progressive partial refinement to improve feature diversity and multi-scale interaction while preserving stable information flow and reducing redundant perturbation. Extensive experiments across multiple remote sensing benchmarks demonstrate that FMC-DETR achieves state-of-the-art performance and significantly outperforming the baseline detector. Code is available at https://github.com/bloomingvision/FMC-DETR.

ChronoReplay: One Answer Interface Is Not Enough for Streaming Spatial Intelligence

Yihao Hu, Yitong Lin, Pan Wang, Zhihao Wen, Hang Wang, Yiwen Zhao, Deyuan Liu, Yutong Li 等 11 位作者

Training a spatial VLM to answer which side an object lies on does not require it to preserve the metric displacement that determines that answer, while supervision for a distance estimate may leave categorical relations largely unconstrained. When post-training emphasizes one readout, improvements can therefore concentrate on that interface while transfer to others remains weak or even degrades; we call this observed specialization interface lock-in. ChronoReplay addresses it by replaying heterogeneous spatial supervision as chronologically ordered episodes, retaining source-native targets, and balancing supervision across families. Under the same observation access, a single ChronoReplay checkpoint improves OVO-S-Bench, OST-Bench, and UCS-Bench together, including a 13.41-point gain on OST-Bench, and achieves the highest three-benchmark mean among the supervision settings compared here. Same-data controls further separate the ingredients of this transfer: answer serialization redistributes gains across OST and UCS, family-balanced learning improves over ordinary joint SFT and natural turn weighting, and chronological replay exceeds a shifted-order control by about 2.41 OST points across two paired seeds. Adaptive frame selection then changes evidence access while keeping the trained model fixed, providing an additional inference-time gain at lower visual cost. Streaming spatial performance depends on what distinctions supervision preserves, how heterogeneous histories are organized during learning, and what causal evidence inference makes available at test time.

See2Refine: Vision-Language Feedback Improves LLM-Based eHMI Action Designers

Ding Xia The University of Tokyo, Xinyue Gui, Mark Colley University College London, University of London, Fan Gao, Zhongyi Zhou Google, Dongyuan Li The University of Tokyo and Institute of Science Tokyo, Renhe Jiang The University of Tokyo, Takeo Igarashi The University of Tokyo, Tokyo Institute of Technology

Automated vehicles lack natural communication channels with other road users, making external Human-Machine Interfaces (eHMIs) essential for conveying intent and maintaining trust in shared environments. However, most eHMI studies rely on developer-crafted message-action pairs, which are difficult to adapt to diverse and dynamic traffic contexts. A promising alternative is to use Large Language Models (LLMs) as action designers that generate context-conditioned eHMI actions, yet such designers lack perceptual verification and typically depend on fixed prompts or costly human-annotated feedback for improvement. We present See2Refine, a human-free, closed-loop framework that uses vision-language models (VLMs) for perceptual evaluation as automated visual feedback to improve an LLM-based eHMI action designer. Given a driving context and a candidate eHMI action, the VLM evaluates the perceived appropriateness of the action, and this feedback is used to iteratively revise the designer’s outputs, enabling systematic refinement without human supervision. We evaluate our framework across three eHMI modalities (lightbar, eyes, and arm) and multiple LLM model sizes. Across settings, our framework consistently outperforms prompt-only LLM designers and manually specified baselines in both VLM-based metrics and human-subject evaluations. The results further indicate that the improvements are generalized across modalities and that VLM evaluations are reasonably aligned with human preferences in our controlled settings, supporting the robustness and effectiveness of See2Refine for scalable action design.

FactVerse: A Benchmark for Factual Consistency in Interleaved Image–Text Generation

Yubo Shan, Kun Zhang Tencent, Qiming Xu Beijing Technology and Business University, Liping Cao, Yingying Cao, Jian Zhang, Yu Wang, Jingyuan Li 等 9 位作者

Interleaved multimodal understanding and generation—where models can interactively comprehend and produce images and text in arbitrary orders—has emerged as a key research direction in generative Multimodal Large Language Models(MLLMs). Such interleaved image–text content plays an increasingly important role in information dissemination. However, the compounded persuasive power of multimodal narratives also raises the risk of factual misinformation. Despite this, existing benchmarks lack effective mechanisms to evaluate factual consistency in interleaved image–text content. To bridge this gap, we introduce FactVerse, a benchmark dedicated to evaluating factual consistency in interleaved image-text generation. FactVerse comprises 3,000 human-verified instances across four categories and 50 domains, supporting both English and Chinese. We also establish a multi-dimensional evaluation framework designed to rigorously assess factual consistency. Experiments demonstrate that our framework achieves high alignment with human judgments, significantly outperforming existing evaluation methods. Furthermore, our analysis reveals systematic deficiencies in current models, offering critical insights for future design.

MARS-RA: Rank Aggregation for Credit Assignment via Multimodal Comparisons in Embodied Multi-Agent Cooperation

Dawei Wang, Di Zhao University of Auckland, Xinyuan Liu, Marci Chi Ma Newcastle University, UK, Xiaoyang Liu Newcastle University, UK, Chengming Zhou, Gary Ushaw Newcastle University, UK, Richard Davison University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Credit assignment is a fundamental challenge in cooperative multi-agent reinforcement learning, particularly in embodied AI settings characterized by limited and delayed feedback as well as dynamically changing numbers of active agents. We propose MARS-RA, a framework that reformulates credit assignment as a rank aggregation problem using contribution-based pairwise comparisons among agents generated by large multimodal models. This shift from absolute to relative estimation ensures robustness against noise and dynamic agent participation, converting comparison results into contribution scores for potential-based reward shaping. We provide theoretical justification for the convergence and robustness of the proposed framework, and show that Shapley values can be used as an interpretive reference. Experimental results on challenging tasks of different types indicate that MARS-RA can guide agents toward effective cooperation.

GroupToM-Bench: Benchmarking Group Theory of Mind and Nonlinear Social Emergence in MLLMs

True general intelligence requires not only a model of the physical world but also a social world model: the capacity to infer how individual mental states interact and crystallize into group-level outcomes. Despite notable progress in individual-level Theory of Mind (ToM) reasoning, existing multimodal large language models systematically fail at this: collective behavior emerges non-linearly from social tensions, conformity dynamics, and structural constraints, and cannot be recovered by summing individual intentions. We present GroupToM-Bench, the first multimodal benchmark for group-level ToM, built around a causal chain spanning micro-level BDI states (belief, desire, intention), meso-level group tension and structural constraints, and macro-level outcome prediction and mechanistic attribution. To probe this full arc, we develop a seven-level cognitive audit framework. Experiments reveal that frontier models perform significantly below human levels, exposing fundamental blind spots in modeling social structures and nonlinear collective behavior.

“I See What You Did There”: Can Large Vision-Language Models Understand Multimodal Puns?

Naen Xu Zhejiang University, Jiayi Sheng, Changjiang Li Palo Alto Networks, Chunyi Zhou, Yuyuan Li Hangzhou Dianzi University, Tianyu Du Zhejiang University, Jun Wang OPPO Research Institute, Zhihui Fu Guangdong OPPO Mobile Telecommunications Corp.,Ltd. 等 10 位作者

Puns are a common form of rhetorical wordplay that exploits polysemy and phonetic similarity to create humor. In multimodal puns, visual and textual elements synergize to ground the literal sense and evoke the figurative meaning simultaneously. Although Vision-Language Models (VLMs) are widely used in multimodal understanding and generation, their ability to understand puns has not been systematically studied due to a scarcity of rigorous benchmarks. To address this, we first propose a multimodal pun generation pipeline. We then introduce MultiPun, a dataset comprising diverse types of puns alongside adversarial non-pun distractors. Our evaluation reveals that most models struggle to distinguish genuine puns from these distractors. Moreover, we propose both prompt-level and model-level strategies to enhance pun comprehension, with an average improvement of 16.5% in F1 scores. Our findings provide valuable insights for developing future VLMs that master the subtleties of human-like humor via cross-modal reasoning.

Real-world financial analysis involves information across multiple languages and modalities, from reports and news to scanned filings and meeting recordings. Yet most existing evaluations of LLMs in finance remain text-only, monolingual, and largely saturated by current models. To bridge these gaps, we present MultiFinBen, the first expert-annotated multilingual (five languages) and multimodal (text, vision, audio) benchmark for evaluating LLMs in realistic financial contexts. MultiFinBen introduces two new task families: multilingual financial reasoning, which tests cross-lingual evidence integration from filings and news, and financial OCR, which extracts structured text from scanned documents containing tables and charts. Rather than aggregating all available datasets, we apply a structured, difficulty-aware selection based on advanced model performance, ensuring balanced challenge and removing redundant tasks. Evaluating 21 leading LLMs shows that even frontier multimodal models like GPT-4o achieve only 46.01% overall, stronger on vision and audio but dropping sharply in multilingual settings. These findings expose persistent limitations in multilingual, multimodal, and expert-level financial reasoning. All datasets, evaluation scripts, and leaderboards are publicly released.

APB-V: Accelerating Long-Video Understanding via Sequence-Parallelism-aware Approximate Attention

The efficiency of long-video inference remains a critical bottleneck, mainly due to the dense computation in the prefill stage of Large Multimodal Models (LMMs). Existing methods either compress visual embeddings or apply sparse attention on a single GPU, yielding limited acceleration or degraded performance and restricting LMMs from handling longer, more complex videos. To overcome these issues, we propose APB-V, a sequence-parallel framework with optimized attention that accelerates long-video inference across multiple GPUs. By distributing approximate attention, APB-V reduces computation and increases parallelism, enabling efficient processing of more visual embeddings without compression and thereby improving task performance. System-level optimizations, such as load balancing and fused forward passes, further unleash the potential of APB-V, delivering speedups of 12.72x, 1.70x, and 1.18x over FlashAttn, ZigZagRing, and APB, without notable performance loss.

We introduce AEGIS, A holistic benchmark for Evaluating forensic analysis of AI-Generated academic ImageS. Compared to existing benchmarks, AEGIS features three key advances: (1) Domain-Specific Complexity: covering seven academic categories with 39 fine-grained subtypes, exposing intrinsic forensic difficulty, where even GPT-5.1 reaches 48.80% overall performance and expert models achieve only limited localization accuracy (IoU 30.09%); (2) Diverse Forgery Simulations: modeling four prevalent academic forgery strategies across 25 generative models, with 11 yielding average forensic accuracy below 50%, showing that forensics lag behind generative advances; and (3) Multi-Dimensional Forensic Evaluation: jointly assessing detection, reasoning, and localization, revealing complementary strengths between model families, with multimodal large language models (MLLMs) at 84.74% accuracy in textual artifact recognition and expert detectors peaking at 79.54% accuracy in binary authenticity detection. By evaluating 25 leading MLLMs, nine expert models, and one unified multimodal understanding and generation model, AEGIS serves as a diagnostic testbed exposing fundamental limitations in academic image forensics.

The global deployment of Large Language Models (LLMs) underscores the urgent need to evaluate their cultural alignment. However, assessing genuine “cultural awareness” across modalities (text, vision, speech) and languages remains a significant challenge. To comprehensively investigate this domain, we propose MMAC, a systematic framework that encompasses a tri-modally aligned cultural benchmark creation pipeline and a five-dimensional evaluation protocol to assess cross-country awareness disparities, evaluate cross-lingual and cross-modal consistency, and verify cultural knowledge generalization and grounding validity. Given the prevailing Western cultural bias in current models, we focus on 8 Asian countries as our dataset foundation to more acutely reveal potential cultural deficiencies in LLMs. Our dataset, MMAC-bench, features 27,000 human-curated questions across 10 languages. Crucially, it is the first dataset aligned at the input level across text, image, and speech, enabling direct cross-modal transfer tests. Each question consists of multiple-choice options accompanied by open-ended generated explanations, where 79% require multi-step reasoning grounded in cultural context, moving beyond simple memorization. We probe the causes of modal divergence, offering insights into fostering culturally robust MLLMs.

Controlling the knowledge and behavior of generative AI systems, including large language models (LLMs), multimodal LLMs (MLLMs), and text-to-image (T2I) models, has become critical as they are increasingly used in safety-sensitive and socially impactful applications. These models often encode unintended, biased, or private content, leading to harmful or unethical outputs. Post-training knowledge control has thus emerged as a practical framework for selectively modifying or removing model behaviors without full retraining, offering scalable and interpretable interventions for improving safety, privacy, and fairness. This tutorial introduces the foundations of post-training knowledge control and showcases recent frontier methods, bridging research insights with real-world practices from both academia and industry. We cover: (i) key motivations and failure modes, such as harmful generation and stereotype reinforcement; (ii) core methods such as machine unlearning, knowledge editing, and inference-time interventions for targeted behavior adjustment; and (iii) evaluation protocols for balancing forgetting, retention, and fairness. Case studies will span text and vision–language generation, including privacy preservation, bias mitigation, and factual correction.
