AI 速览:Rimuru 提出共享页池与内存视图机制,统一管理 LLM 服务中异构张量的内存,并通过弹性专家卸载提升吞吐、降低首 token 延迟。

Modern LLMs strain device memory through large model weights and attention states, particularly in resource-constrained scenarios. Existing systems separately provision memory for model weights and attention states, imposing fixed fixed boundaries that cannot adapt to the changing memory demands of workloads. Under heavy workloads, insufficient state capacity limits request concurrency and reduces throughput; under light workloads, idle memory in one region cannot be reallocated to another, wasting device memory. Meanwhile, modern LLM architectures introduce heterogeneous tensors with diverse layouts and lifetimes, further complicating memory management. These problems motivate unified memory management for heterogeneous tensors. However, a shared pool alone does not make memory directly reusable across tensors with different allocation granularities and execution layouts. This paper presents Rimuru, a modern LLM serving system that unifies memory management through elastic expert offloading. Rimuru establishes a shared page pool to enables elastic memory sharing across heterogeneous tensors. To accommodate different allocation granularities, Rimuru introduces memory views that allow each tensor type to interpret the shared memory space using its own page size and page table. Furthermore, Rimuru combines huge-page alignment with a multi-level page allocator that splits and merges pages, enabling cross-type capacity reuse. A page-table-aware fused MoE kernel directly accesses non-contiguous expert weights, avoiding copy overhead. Building on these mechanisms, Rimuru employs a workload-aware adjuster that dynamically reallocates pages across tensor types according to runtime demands. Implemented on top of vLLM, Rimuru remains compatible with modern LLMs. Evaluations show that Rimuru achieves up to 19.03x baseline throughput and reduces TTFT by 98.1% on average.

AI 速览:作者提出一种乐高兼容的气动人工肌肉模块及配套 MuJoCo 仿真器,用于快速搭建和探索可重构肌肉骨骼机器人。

Musculoskeletal robots combine compliant actuators with articulated skeletons, but exploring alternative configurations often requires repeated fabrication. We present MUSBRIC, a modular hardware platform and accompanying MuJoCo-based simulator for reconfigurable musculoskeletal robots. LEGO-compatible endcaps turn fiber-reinforced extensile pneumatic artificial muscles into reusable, plug-and-play muscle bricks that connect directly to standard LEGO components. Experimentally identified actuator behavior supports corresponding musculoskeletal simulations. An elbow-joint prototype validates load-dependent flexion and extension, showing that pulley-guided routing enables reversible motion and a mechanical stop stabilizes the straight posture. A robotic hand demonstrates compliant grasping and multi-joint construction. Matched hardware and simulation sweeps across 15 leg configurations demonstrate systematic exploration of attachment geometry, while a quadruped assembled from four legs demonstrates walking. Together, these demonstrations span mechanism analysis, configuration exploration, and functional robot construction within a single reconfigurable system. The hardware designs and simulation code will be released as open source soon to facilitate reproduction and further development.

Cointegrated Regressors: Where Folded Concave Penalties Go Beyond LASSO

Hongqi Chen, Chengwang Liao, Ziwei Mei, Zhentao Shi

LASSO is one of the most popular regularization methods for high-dimensional regression models. While cointegration is common in practical applications of predictive regressions with many regressors, the convex penalty of LASSO overly suppresses the coefficients of cointegrated regressors and therefore fails to deliver consistent parameter estimation. We employ folded concave penalties (FCP), including the well-known SCAD and MCP, to address this issue. Using FCP, we establish two asymptotic results: (i) a local oracle property for the penalized regression, and (ii) a global oracle property for regressions with a penalty-level constraint. In particular, the latter guarantees a global solution that consistently estimates the true coefficients and enjoys oracle prediction performance. Simulation studies and an application to predicting the euro area unemployment rate show that FCP improves variable selection and out-of-sample prediction relative to LASSO.

TaskFrame: Connecting Task-Level Planning with Frame-Level Control for Game Agents

Guangzhi Wang, Junfu Pu, Yiran Wang, Xingyilang Yin, Honghao Chen, Cheng Cheng, Lingen Li, Yinan Zhou 等 13 位作者

Building general game agents requires both high-level task reasoning and low-latency action control in rapidly changing visual environments. These capabilities favor models with substantially different computational profiles, making them difficult to realize within a single model. In this work, we present TaskFrame, a hierarchical planner-controller framework that connects task-level planning with frame-level keyboard-and-mouse control. A vision-language task planner decomposes a high-level goal into an ordered sequence of atomic instructions and is optimized through supervised learning and dependency-aware GRPO. The hidden states of special goal tokens that terminate each atomic instruction provide continuous goal embeddings that are cached and reused across control steps. A causal Transformer controller combines the embedding of the active goal with recent observations to predict discrete keyboard and mouse-button actions and continuous camera motion at every game step. We train the system in three stages: planner training, controller pretraining, and joint alignment. Experiments in Minecraft show that TaskFrame is competitive with general-purpose vision-language models on instruction decomposition, and that in closed-loop evaluation the agent achieves a higher combat success rate than the evaluated baselines.

From MS/MS evidence to adaptive spectroscopic characterization: Reinforcement learning guided by candidate molecular structures

Bowen Gao, Lei Zhu, Yiying Wang, Wenjie Yu

Small-molecule identification from tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) may require complementary measurements. Herein, we propose a structure-informed deep Q-network (SI-DQN) that uses existing MS/MS evidence to decide whether further characterization is needed, which measurement to request, and when to stop. The policy combines spectral representations and candidate rankings with score-weighted descriptors of the candidates' chemical features and structural differences. The policy was evaluated on 79,462 held-out samples with simulated MS/MS, infrared (IR), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra from the Multimodal Spectroscopic Dataset. Evaluation used fixed hard candidate sets containing the correct structure and equal normalized acquisition costs. Averaged across three training runs, SI-DQN increased Top-1 accuracy from 80.10% to 93.78% for positive-ion MS/MS starts and from 70.44% to 93.31% for negative-ion starts. The corresponding mean additional measurement counts were only 0.227 and 0.340 per sample, respectively. Complete acquisition achieved 97.72% accuracy with four additions, whereas SI-DQN reduced the additional measurement count by 94.3% and 91.5%. Relative to a rule-based policy, SI-DQN reduced the composite loss combining terminal ranking error and acquisition cost by 19.3% and 25.5%. Adding structural information to DQN further improved accuracy while reducing requests across all three training runs. At comparable ranking uncertainty, SI-DQN increased request rates relative to DQN more strongly in groups with high structural disagreement, where larger reductions in composite loss were also observed. Together, these results support using the ambiguity among candidate structures after MS/MS analysis to guide further characterization, providing a quantitative basis for balancing identification performance against subsequent measurement effort.

The Price of a Chance in Artificial Societies

Shuqi Zhao, Boyu Wang, Shuangyue Niu, Chenhao Zhang, Zhanzhan Zhao

Rapid advances in large language models (LLMs) have enabled autonomous agents to interact, coordinate, and pursue individual goals in artificial societies. However, our understanding of how reward structures shape their competitive behavior and collective outcomes remains incomplete. We simulate 200 LLM agents competing over 50 rounds to maximize individual wealth. We define overcompetition and lying flat as population investment above and below a Bayesian adaptive baseline, respectively. At the lowest tested reward, populations lie flat; at the two highest, they overcompete, most strongly at intermediate winner coverage. The investment committed to pursuing an uncertain reward constitutes the price of a chance. Agents near the qualification cutoff can invest heavily yet receive no prize, finishing poorer than nonwinners who invest less. Agents' stated rationales link investment decisions to perceived qualification prospects and expected returns. At the collective level, greater investment does not consistently improve ability selection. With a fixed total prize budget, offering smaller prizes to more winners can reduce investment while preserving selection quality relative to the corresponding top-ability target. Further broadening reward coverage yields additional savings but reduces selection quality. These findings show how reward design shapes overcompetition and lying flat, distributes the costs of pursuing opportunity, and influences what competition collectively achieves.

When Requirements Interact: Scaling Long-Horizon Coding via Interdependent Specifications

Yishuo Cai, Minzheng Wang, Liang Zhao, Linghao Zhang, Lei Li, Shicheng Li, Xu Sun, Fuli Luo

To succeed in real-world long-horizon software development, coding agents must satisfy multi-dimensional task specifications, such as interface compatibility and error handling, and do so without breaking existing dependencies. However, current works lack specification in both quantity and diversity, often emphasizing primary goals while ignoring complex constraints. Synthesizing tasks to bridge this gap presents two challenges: naively adding specifications risks reducing tasks to trivial checklists rather than compelling joint reasoning, and verifying these subtle interactions risks overlooking hidden flaws or rejecting valid alternatives. To address these challenges, we introduce CodeSpecWeave, a framework for synthesizing tasks with rich, interdependent specifications. Grounded in real developer seeds, a synthesis agent iteratively develops both coupled task requirements and executable tests, while a review agent audits solution trajectories from multiple models to guarantee test reliability. Using this pipeline, we construct 4,670 training tasks across 2,865 repositories. Applying Reinforcement learning on these tasks significantly improves performance over the base model on DeepSWE-v1.1, largely outperforming existing baselines. Furthermore, we curate CodeSpecWeave-Bench, a rigorous benchmark comprising 100 tasks and 1,044 specifications, which clearly separates frontier models and reveals significant headroom in handling interdependent engineering constraints.

Distributional Reward Calibration and Budget-Neutral Credit Assignment for Multimodal RLVR

Lang Chen, Zongxin Xu, Borui Wang, Anran Liu, Shitong Chen

We revisit advantage estimation in Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO) and observe that any token-level advantage admits a two-stage factorization: a \emph{sample-level baselining} step that converts scalar verifier rewards into a comparable sequence-level signal, and a \emph{token-level credit assignment} step that distributes that signal over the trajectory. Existing estimators typically address only one of these stages: affine baselines preserve the shape of each task's reward law, so heavy tails and binary cliffs propagate into the gradient, while token-level credit rules tie the size of each token's update to raw confidence scales and need not conserve the total credit issued by the verifier. We propose \textbf{TACE} (Two-stage Advantage and Credit Estimation), a two-stage estimator that addresses both stages. At stage~(S1), we replace linear standardization with a one-dimensional optimal-transport map to a standard normal, which gives a common population reward law across tasks and caps finite-sample outliers deterministically. At stage~(S2), we rank-calibrate a stop-gradient evidence contrast within each trajectory and renormalize the clipped token weights to have mean one, so credit is redistributed across tokens while its total mass and sign are conserved. We prove population-level inter-task moment equity, a deterministic tail bound, and mass-conservation, boundedness, and sign-anchoring properties that affine baselines and unnormalized token weights do not satisfy. On a multimodal reasoning suite, TACE obtains the strongest results on a majority of the benchmarks but does not dominate every setting.

Reaction precedents extend retrosynthetic prediction beyond training coverage

Jiaxing Sun, Xuli Shen, Jiang Wu, Ruiyi Ding, Ruikang Zhang, Xiao An, Xibao Li, Yubin Wang 等 20 位作者

Reaction precedents guide retrosynthesis, but how far they can compensate for gaps in task-specific training coverage remains unclear. Using 2.71 million reactions, we restricted training and retrieval coverage by transformation or time, then expanded only the retrieval corpus with model parameters fixed. For transformations excluded from training, mean Top-1 accuracy increased from 13.0% to 58.0% on a historical test set and from 4.9% to 23.1% on a temporally held-out test set. For temporal coverage gaps, retrieval expansion enabled a model trained on records before 2017 to match or exceed a non-retrieval model trained on records before 2025 on both test sets. Without task-specific fine-tuning, precedents improved all 14 representative general-purpose models on both test sets and USPTO-50K; the strongest with precedents surpassed all eight representative specialized models. These findings show that inference-time reaction precedents can extend retrosynthetic prediction beyond task-specific training coverage without parameter updates.

EpiAgent: Epistemic Self-Play for LLM Agents

Xuanfa Jin, Xinyu Cui, Zhijian Ma, Xue Yan, Jian Zhao, Haifeng Zhang, Jun Wang

Epistemic game theory explains an agent's strategic behavior via the beliefs it holds about others and how these beliefs are updated as the interactions unfold. Modern LLM-based agents, however, often lack an explicit mechanism for learning and updating such beliefs to guide decisions under incomplete information. To bridge this gap, we propose EpiAgent, a framework that equips LLM-based agents with an explicit, learnable epistemic layer, which maintains beliefs over others' private information and combines these beliefs with the agent's available information into an epistemic state for action selection. Concretely, the agent's policy is decomposed into two coupled stages: Epistemic Update, which updates these beliefs from interaction histories, and Action Planning, which selects actions conditioned on the updated epistemic state. By formulating their dependency as a bi-level optimization problem, we introduce Epistemic Self-Play, an algorithm that alternately optimizes the two stages through self-play, utilizing an intrinsic prediction reward to evaluate how well inferred beliefs predict subsequent observations. Empirical results across both mixed and competitive scenarios show that EpiAgent consistently outperforms prompting-based and RL-based baselines. Further analyses reveal the benefits of dedicated epistemic training, improvements in belief inference accuracy, and the contribution of learned beliefs to action planning. These results demonstrate the value of an explicit, learnable epistemic layer for effective multi-agent interactions.

Beyond Compilation Feedback: Refining Vulnerability Checkers with Program-Analysis Evidence

Chengzhi Yi, Shenao Wang, Yanjie Zhao, Xiao Cheng, Haoyu Wang

Recent work shows that LLMs can synthesize static-analysis checkers from security patches, but a compilable checker is not necessarily a correct one. A patch reveals what changed, not why the change is safe, so generated checkers often match only the surface edit and miss the deeper semantic condition. Existing refinement loops feed back compilation errors and validation reports, yet these signals describe symptoms without explaining what the checker misunderstands about the code. We observe that the analysis framework itself already computes the information needed to close this gap. Control-flow graphs, symbolic values, memory regions and checker callbacks are available inside the analyzer but unused by current refinement strategies. SemWeaver is a plug-in refinement layer that extracts patch-relevant analyzer evidence and assembles it with source context and validation feedback into a structured, provenance-labelled bundle. An iterative editing loop refines the checker on both the vulnerable and fixed revisions, guarded by a retention gate that accepts warning recovery or false-positive reduction while preventing over-pruning. We evaluate SemWeaver on 39 KNighter-derived CSA checkers from Linux kernel fixes. With analyzer evidence, refinement reaches 23 warning-positive vulnerable revisions (vs. 15 for KNighter's loop) and raises version-level $F_1$ from 0.448 to 0.575. An ablation removing internal evidence recovers fewer silent cases and produces different checker edits, indicating that the two evidence configurations address complementary recognition gaps. Additional experiments cover three editor models on a 12-subject subset, a CodeQL query refinement, and controlled source-form variations. A qualitative follow-up on all 11 non-tied comparisons traces each warning-count change to a specific checker repair, such as recognizing a lowered callback or unwrapping an expression cast.

Blockspace Under Pressure: An Analysis of Spam MEV on High-Throughput Blockchains

Wenhao Wang, Aditya Saraf, Lioba Heimbach, Kushal Babel, Fan Zhang

On high-throughput, low-fee blockchains, a qualitatively new form of maximal extractable value (MEV), spam MEV, has emerged: searchers submit large volumes of speculative transactions, whose profitability is resolved only at execution time. On major rollups, it can consume more than half of block gas, even though only a small fraction of probes ultimately results in a trade. Despite growing awareness of this phenomenon, there is no principled framework for understanding how blockchain design parameters shape its prevalence and impact. We develop such a framework, modeling spam transactions competing for on-chain opportunities under a competitive equilibrium that drives their profits to zero, and deriving equilibrium spam volumes as a function of block capacity, minimum gas price, and the transaction fee mechanism. Empirical evidence from Base and Arbitrum is consistent with several predictions of the model: spam grew sharply as block capacity was scaled up and fell when minimum gas prices were introduced. Our analysis yields three main insights. First, spam is always costly: when block capacity is scarce, it displaces users and drives up gas prices; as block capacity grows, it increasingly consumes execution resources, raising network externality, i.e., the cost of provisioning and processing blocks. We show that spam takes an increasing share of each additional unit of block capacity, so capping it before all users are included creates a favorable trade-off: forgoing a small amount of user welfare eliminates disproportionate spam and externality. Second, we extend the analysis to approximate priority fee ordering and show that it can reduce spam by making earlier block positions more expensive, as spammers pay more to reach early block positions. Third, as user demand grows and blockspace is scaled accordingly, spam's share of block capacity plateaus rather than growing indefinitely.

Benchmarking color judgment in multimodal LLMs with CIE-computable ground truth

Shuwei Yue, Kaida Xiao, Zhihua Wang, Qiao Chen

Multimodal large language models (MLLMs) are now used as zero-shot judges of image quality, but their color judgments are rarely tested with colorimetric ground truth. We present a five-task benchmark based on the CIE colorimetric framework: AWB pair judgment, skin-tone bias direction, CCT estimation, CIE Delta E 2000 pair ordering, and color naming under changing illuminants. We test eight MLLM endpoints, including four Qwen3-VL variants, GLM-4.5V, GPT-5.4, Claude-Opus-4.7, and Gemini-3.1-Pro. The models often solve coarse binary AWB judgments, but they remain weak on numeric CCT estimation and on some fine color-difference judgments. On ColorChecker-24 stimuli, the three closed-weight frontier models reach CCT MAE of 715-1056 K, compared with 1358-2133 K for the five open-weight models. A non-ColorChecker control shows that this advantage is partly template-dependent. The results suggest that current MLLMs have useful color words and coarse visual priors, but their color judgments are not reliably calibrated to CIE-computable color differences.

RoboAtom: Large-scale Atomic-Action Supervision for Robot Learning

Xueyuan Wei, Xuanxu Wang, Xudong Li, Yuping He, Wanshui Gan, Jiaqi Peng, Wenqi Guo, Jianjun Zhou 等 13 位作者

Fine-grained action annotations can support skill reuse and compositional generalization in robot policies. However, robot datasets typically provide task-level instructions without subtask annotations. Although some include subtask labels, inconsistent formats and conventions hinder cross-source joint training. We propose RoboAtom-Data, which adds unified, time-aligned atomic-action annotations to existing data from multiple sources, covering 1.45 million trajectories, 6.88 million skill-labeled segments, and 16,882.1 hours. Our pipeline combines a unified protocol, large-scale manual annotation, propagation across repeated executions with the same ordered skill sequence, and multi-stage quality control. We evaluate the dataset through automatic atomic-action annotation and robot control. We construct RoboAtom-Bench to standardize evaluation of skill recognition and temporal boundary localization. Trained on the annotated data, RoboAtom-Anno achieves better automatic annotation performance than all evaluated open- and closed-source models on both RoboAtom-Bench and the external WGO-Bench. For robot control, atomic-action supervision paired with hierarchical execution improves task success over task-level baselines on LIBERO-Long, LIBERO-Plus, and RoboTwin. We will release the data, benchmark, model, and construction pipeline to support further research on skill-level robot learning.

Bridging Semantics and Structure: A Theoretically Grounded Framework for Link Prediction on TAGs

Chen Shao, Ruirui Wang, Tobias Kafer, Danai Koutra

Link prediction on text-attributed graphs (TAGs) is a fundamental problem with applications in knowledge discovery, recommendation and beyond. Recent progress has highlighted the promise of combining Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) with Language Models (LMs) in order to leverage the complementary structural and semantic signals. However, due to the distinct inductive biases of GNNs and LMs, the design of an optimal fusion strategy remains an open research question. In this work, we present Bridge-LP, an intuitive, simple, efficient and theoretically grounded framework that unifies graph and language representations. It is built around three theoretically-justified design components: (D1) jumping connection of textual proximity, which enables robust LM training; (D2) compressed embedding, which encodes neighborhood information long exploited by classical link prediction heuristics, thereby enriching structural signals in a learnable way; and (D3) cache embedding training strategy, which reduces computational complexity. Together, these mechanisms establish an end-to-end cross-modal framework that scales to large graphs while capturing richer graph-text interactions. We conduct an extensive empirical evaluation, comparing against 40 existing models across 9 diverse datasets. Experiments show that Bridge-LP consistently outperforms state-of-the-art approaches, delivering up to a 43.06% improvement in Mean Reciprocal Rank (MRR) and setting a new benchmark for language-graph integration.

Video Generation Meets Agent Harness: Agentic Video Generation, Agentic World Modeling and Recursive Self-Improvement

Liaoyuan Fan, Yuhao Zheng, Dongxing Mao, Hangyu Ran, Siyuan Hu, Weijia Mao, Rui Zhao, Weijia Wu 等 21 位作者

Video generation is shifting from end-to-end synthesis toward agentic generation, where planning, tool use, and feedback enable coherent, controllable multi-shot videos. In parallel, video world models provide action-conditioned observations and predicted futures, serving as interactive environments for agents. We study their intersection through the agent harness: an executable runtime that constructs context, exposes tools, maintains state, routes feedback, and manages budgets around video models. This report examines three directions. First, agentic video generation, where harnesses coordinate scripting, shot planning, asset management, production, and editing, alongside the evaluation challenges of these systems. Second, agentic world modeling, where harnesses mediate observation, control, execution, and state. We discuss hybrid designs in which game engines or agent-written programs maintain world state while video models render observations, and how agents and world models can mutually evaluate and improve one another. Third, recursive self-improvement (RSI) in video model development, distinguishing output revisions, updates to harness state, generator parameters, and evaluators, and changes to the improvement procedure itself. We identify how these improvements feed back into subsequent development. Across these directions, we analyze essential agent capabilities, including audiovisual perception, long-horizon planning, memory, code-based interaction, feedback-guided control, skill reuse, and multi-agent coordination. We conclude with challenges in autonomous video production, lifelong memory, programmable hybrid control, autonomous model development, provenance, cost accounting, and evaluation linking video quality and task performance to sustained improvements in models and harnesses.

AdMuse: Skill-Guided Creative Advertising Image Generation

Minyan Luo, Yuxin Zhang, Meng Zhao, Xincan Wang, Fuzhang Wu, Tong-Yee Lee, Oliver Deussen, Fan Tang 等 9 位作者

An outstanding creative advertising image should both attract attention and communicate a product's positioning. How to choose a persuasive conceptual bridge before rendering begins is challenging for advertising generation. We present AdMuse, a skill-guided multi-agent framework that distills high-quality advertisements into reusable creative skills for cross-domain advertising strategy. Rather than retrieving isolated exemplars, AdMuse abstracts recurring bridge patterns into a skill library that can guide new product briefs. At generation time, AdMuse coordinates skill routing, multi-candidate ideation and selection, and VLM-guided visual refinement: diverse skills propose alternative concepts, relative judgment selects the most promising direction, and vision-language feedback helps realize the selected intent in the final image. This design treats advertising creativity as a structured decision process rather than a single prompt-writing step. Experiments across diverse product and brand positionings show that AdMuse produces visually compelling advertisements that faithfully communicate product positioning.

Locating and Closing Information Gaps in Multi-Agent Systems

Yaxin Gong, Chongming Gao, Gangyi Zhang, Chenxiao Fan, Leyang Shen, Jiakai Wang, Dong Wang, Yang Liu 等 10 位作者

Multi-step Web tasks often require several LLM agents to gather and combine evidence. The communication graph of a fixed workflow restricts which agents can read each other's outputs: evidence retrieved by one agent may never reach the agent that needs it, leaving an information gap and an incomplete or incorrect answer. Adding a connection can deliver the missing evidence, but can also lead the receiver to adopt an incorrect upstream conclusion that displaces a correct answer; the final output alone does not separate the two. We propose Selective Probing and Link Insertion for Closing information gaps in multi-agent Execution (SPLICE), which locates information gaps per query and decides what to adopt after adding an edge. After the original workflow runs, SPLICE uses the query and node outputs to locate a possible gap, adds one directed edge from a source to a receiver to deliver the relevant evidence, and re-executes the receiver and affected downstream nodes, producing a candidate answer. The adoption decision reads both the final answers of the two runs and the process changes the edit caused inside the workflow: how far the receiver moved, where its new content came from, and whether the change reached the final answer. A selector trained on these process features chooses between adopting the candidate answer and retaining the original. On five benchmarks, SPLICE raises the task score on Web tool use by 8.0% and the mean score on four reasoning and planning benchmarks by 5.7% relative to the static skeleton, at 1.25 to 1.44$\times$ the skeleton's cost, and transfers zero-shot to four unseen backbones.

MMFact: Simplifying Multimodal Misinformation Detection with Shared Resources and Tools

Yuchen Miao, Zijun Wang, Mingtai Zhang, Xiaoyi Chen, Sihan Deng, Xianglin Ding

Multimodal misinformation detection methods often rely on different preprocessing pipelines and auxiliary resources, making experimental comparisons difficult to interpret. We present MMFact, a collection of shared resources and tools that simplifies this research workflow. It brings together 47 detector implementations and baselines, three multimodal datasets, and prepared materials ranging from semantic features to OCR, image descriptions, and external evidence. Compatible methods can use the same materials, reducing variation introduced by preprocessing and supporting fairer comparisons. A modular training and evaluation framework preserves method-specific designs while providing common experimental procedures. By treating prepared materials as a shared research resource, MMFact helps researchers focus on developing and evaluating detection methods.

MassSpecGym in the Wild: Uncovering and Correcting Evaluation Pitfalls in AI-Driven Molecule Discovery

Reliable benchmarking is critical for developing machine learning models for tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) based molecule discovery. Subtle issues in experimental design and model evaluation procedures can degrade the trustworthiness of such benchmarks and lead to erroneous conclusions. We conduct a thorough review of model evaluation issues in the recent MS/MS machine learning literature, using the standard MassSpecGym benchmark suite as a case study to illustrate the impact of these issues. We find evaluation issues in at least 17 of 26 papers reporting MassSpecGym benchmark results in the first year of its adoption. We isolate three classes of failures: (i) data leakage, (ii) shortcut learning, and (iii) implementation bugs and metric divergence. Through extensive experimentation and code replication, we quantify the impact of these issues and show how they corrupt the evaluation standards MassSpecGym was designed to enforce. We distill our findings into recommendations generalizable to MS/MS challenges, benchmarks, and custom evaluation setups. We also release MassSpecGym v1.5, an implementation of our recommendations in the MassSpecGym benchmarking suite which addresses the failure modes identified in this audit. MassSpecGym v1.5 is publicly available at https://github.com/pluskal-lab/MassSpecGym.

A Behavioural Thesis of Synchronous Parallel Algorithms -- Correction of the Simplified Parallel ASM Thesis

Flavio Ferrarotti, Klaus-Dieter Schewe, Loredana Tec, Qing Wang

A behavioural theory consists of machine-independent postulates characterizing a particular class of algorithms or systems, an abstract machine model that provably satisfies these postulates, and a rigorous proof that any algorithm or system stipulated by the postulates is captured by the abstract machine model. The class of interest in this article is that of synchronous parallel algorithms. For this class a behavioural theory has already been developed by Blass and Gurevich, which, though mathematically correct, fails to be convincing, as it is not intuitively clear that the postulates really capture the essence of (synchronous) parallel algorithms. We present a much simpler (and presumably more convincing) set of four postulates for (synchronous) parallel algorithms, which are close to those of Gurevich's sequential ASM thesis. The key difference is an extension of the bounded exploration postulate using multiset comprehension terms instead of ground terms formulated over the signature of the states. In addition, all implicit assumptions are made explicit, which amounts to representing states of a parallel algorithm by meta-finite first-order structures. The article first provides evidence that the axiomatization characterizes the whole class of deterministic, synchronous, parallel algorithms, then formally proves that parallel algorithms are captured by Abstract State Machines (ASMs). The proof uses the requirement of the bounded exploration postulate that update sets be uniformly definable, by equality-free first-order formulae, in the finite critical structures determined by the witness terms; these formulae are translated into the guards of a parallel ASM rule. This version corrects the characterization proof of the first version, whose key lemma was false; the bounded exploration postulate has been amended accordingly.

VideoMemBench: How Well Do MLLMs Remember in Video Conversations?

Zhengdong Hu, Chao Wang, Kaituo Feng, Huanjin Yao, Mingfei Lu, Hehe Fan, Yi Yang

Multimodal large language models (MLLMs) can now process hour-long videos, making extended multi-turn dialogue over a single video a natural mode of use. Sustaining such a dialogue requires more than answering each question in isolation: the model must retrieve and reuse information established earlier in the conversation, both what it has seen and what it has said, an ability we term in-context video memory. Existing video QA benchmarks leave this ability unmeasured: their questions are mutually independent, never reference one another, and each is answerable from the video alone, so nothing ever requires carrying information across turns. We introduce VideoMemBench, in which each sample pairs a single video with a long multi-turn dialogue, whose turns are connected by typed cross-turn dependencies: an Episodic Dependency refers back to a visual episode described in an earlier turn, probing memory of what the model has seen, while an Answer Dependency builds on the model's own earlier answer, probing memory of what the model has said. Every dependency is verified considering two properties: 1) necessity, meaning the question cannot be answered without its earlier turns, and 2) non-leakage, meaning the question does not restate the information from its earlier turns. To enforce these properties, we design a construction pipeline with three LLM roles: a planner, a generator, and a judger, with each dialogue reviewed by human experts. VideoMemBench comprises 326 videos with 2,476 turns, of which 1,387 depend on earlier turns, including multi-parent dependencies and long-range call-back. Among over 20 evaluated open- and closed-source MLLMs, Claude Opus 5 performs the best with an overall score of only 45.7\%, highlighting the challenge of in-context video memory. Our dataset and evaluation are released.

Escaping Path Mirages in Offline Goal-Conditioned Reinforcement Learning

Junhyeon Bae, Jaebak Hwang, Gwanwoo Choi, Minung Kim, Seungyul Han

Offline goal-conditioned reinforcement learning remains challenging in stochastic long-horizon settings, where compounding value estimation errors hinder reliable goal reaching. While prior methods have sought to address this challenge through various approaches, a key challenge remains path mirage, where agents overcommit to spuriously successful trajectories in offline datasets induced by stochasticity, often leading to failure on difficult tasks. To address this issue, we propose Branch-aware Graph Planning (BGP), which captures stochastic branching structures by identifying high-variability points as graph nodes and designing goal-conditioned edges with segmented learning to avoid unreliable branches and reduce unnecessary stochasticity along paths. As a result, BGP enables reliable goal reaching even in highly stochastic long-horizon environments, and experiments on diverse OGBench tasks show that it substantially outperforms prior state-of-the-art offline goal-conditioned RL methods. Our implementation is available at https://umlic.github.io/papers/BGP/.

CaC: Advancing Video Reward Models via Hierarchical Spatiotemporal Concentrating

In this paper, we propose Concentrate and Concentrate (CaC), a coarse-to-fine anomaly reward model based on Vision-Language Models. During inference, it first conducts a global temporal scan to anchor anomalous time windows, then performs fine-grained spatial grounding within the localized interval, and finally derives robust judgments via structured spatiotemporal Chain-of-Thought reasoning. To equip the model with these capabilities, we construct the first large-scale generated video anomaly dataset with per-frame bounding-box annotations, temporal anomaly windows, and fine-grained attribution labels. Building on this dataset, we design a three-stage progressive training paradigm. The model initially learns spatial and temporal anchoring through single- and multi-frame supervised fine-tuning, and then is optimized by a reinforcement learning strategy based on two-turn Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO). Beyond conventional accuracy rewards, we introduce Temporal and Spatial IoU rewards to supervise the intermediate localization process, effectively guiding the model toward more grounded and interpretable spatiotemporal reasoning. Extensive experiments demonstrate that CaC can stably concentrate on subtle anomalies, achieving a 25.7% accuracy improvement on fine-grained anomaly benchmarks and, when used as a reward signal, CaC reduces generated-video anomalies by 11.7% while improving overall video quality.

Mapping the Emerging Social Science of Large Language Models

Zhanzhan Zhao, Yi Yang, Xiao Jia, Zeyun Dong, Chenzhang Wang

As large language models (LLMs) blur the boundary between cognition and computation, they reshape knowledge production and collective life. We combine a curated review of 198 papers with computational mapping of 47,719 formally published papers from five databases. Text embeddings, clustering, and topic modeling organize the curated literature into 13 subcategories across three domains. LLM as Social Minds examines mind-like reasoning and socially grounded behavior in individual models. LLM Societies explores how interactions among agents produce collective behavior and social organization. LLM-Human Interactions examines how people perceive and engage with LLMs, and how interaction reshapes human thinking, creativity, and relationships. Structural topic modeling of the larger corpus traces how research attention shifts over time and differs across publication venues. We present a reproducible framework that identifies the field's underlying structure and enables its continuous refinement as new studies emerge. The review also identifies a gap in current understanding: the mechanisms underlying many of LLMs' observed cognitive and social behaviors remain unclear. Human-like performance can then be mistaken for understanding, obscuring the norms, biases, and structures of power that LLMs reproduce. We call for shared benchmarks and robustness checks across the three domains to build a reliable evidence base for understanding LLMs' social behaviors and informing their design and use.

From Profiles to Steering Vectors: Global Sparse Priors and Local Semantic Calibration for Personalized Text Generation

Liuji Chen, Zeyu Zhang, Xinyuan Zhang, Shuai Nie, Qiang Liu, Shu Wu, Liang Wang

Personalized text generation requires models to capture user-specific writing styles from historical data. Existing approaches based on retrieval, parameter-efficient fine-tuning, or activation steering either introduce inference and storage overhead or struggle to separate stylistic signals from semantic content. We propose GLASS, a training-free framework for personalized generation via Global-Local Activation Steering with Sparse priors. GLASS uses sparse autoencoders to extract a global user-style prior from historical responses and constructs local contrastive style vectors over clustered interaction scenarios. During inference, it jointly injects global and local vectors into different model layers, enabling context-aware personalization without retrieval or parameter updates. Experiments on LaMP and LongLaMP show that GLASS outperforms retrieval-, fine-tuning-, and steering-based baselines across ROUGE metrics and LLM-as-judge evaluations. Further analyses show that SAE-based representations are more robust to topic and length shifts, suggesting better disentanglement of stylistic information from semantic residue.

Upcycling Language Models for Multiple Specialized Domains

Mingzi Cao, Xi Wang, Nikolaos Aletras

Effective multi-domain adaptation of large language models requires prioritizing relevant domain knowledge while minimizing interference from irrelevant domains. Existing approaches commonly use Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA) to train a separate adapter for each domain and combine these adapters within one model. However, they either weight adapters equally regardless of the input domain or dynamically weight adapters while still activating all of them including irrelevant ones. Additionally, while efficient, their low-rank structure limits performance. In contrast, upcycling is a model expansion method that adds experts and a router to a dense Transformer layer offering larger capacity than LoRA approaches. In this paper, we propose Domain-Specialized Upcycling (DS-Upcycling) for multi-domain adaptation. We introduce a new domain-aware supervision that allows the router to effectively learn to distinguish domains by selecting the appropriate experts. During fine-tuning on each new domain, we update only the corresponding expert and router while freezing all other parameters. Experiments show that our method achieves the highest average performance across the adapted domains compared to baselines while retaining general performance. With just 256 examples per domain for router supervision, DS-Upcycling achieves 90-98% routing accuracy after adaptation compared with 43-70% for routers trained without our approach.

Morphology-Aware Channel-Decoupled Mamba Network for Medical Image Segmentation

Chenchen Wang, You Zhou

Accurate multi-organ segmentation in computed tomography (CT) is essential for computer-aided diagnosis, treatment planning, and disease monitoring. However, substantial variations in organ shape and size, together with low tissue contrast and ambiguous boundaries, complicate the modeling of heterogeneous anatomical structures. To address these challenges, we propose a Morphology-Aware Channel-Decoupled Mamba Network (MCDNet), which integrates adaptive local structural enhancement with channel-decoupled long-range modeling. Specifically, we introduce a Morphology-Aware Channel-Decoupled State-Space (MCSS) block that divides feature channels into separate processing groups, allowing differentiated structural representations to be learned within an efficient state-space framework. Within each group, a Morphology-Aware Enhancement Module (MAEM) combines deformable convolutions with channel attention to adapt local feature extraction to anatomical shape variations. Group-wise state-space modeling then captures long-range spatial dependencies, and channel gating adaptively integrates the resulting features. Experiments on the Synapse abdominal CT dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of MCDNet, achieving an average Dice Similarity Coefficient of 81.61% for multi-organ segmentation.

Localizing Concepts in Visual Autoregressive Models

Nanxiang Jiang, Yang Liu, Yuanhao Wang, Min Xu

Understanding the internal routing of visual concepts is crucial for the safe and controllable adaptation of generative models. While concept localization has been widely studied in diffusion models, the emerging paradigm of next-scale visual autoregressive models remains largely unexplored. In this paper, we introduce LoCo, the first model-agnostic framework to localize where and when specific concepts emerge within autoregressive models. Driven by the native coarse-to-fine nature of next-scale generation, our method precisely maps conceptual knowledge across three distinct dimensions: Layer, Scale, and Position. To systematically localize and evaluate concept routing without context bias, we propose LoCoBench, a comprehensive dataset spanning 10 diverse categories. Extensive probing on image and video autoregressive models like Infinity, HunyuanImage-3.0, and InfinityStar shows that the localized positions are both interpretable and causally related to concept emergence. Building on these insights, we apply our localization method to three key applications: concept erasure, model personalization, and adversarial concept injection. Experiments demonstrate that our targeted intervention achieves state-of-the-art performance, substantially reducing computational overhead while preserving benign utility. Overall, our findings offer insights into how conceptual knowledge is routed during autoregressive generation, introducing a practical pathway for more interpretable, efficient, and secure adaptation.

AI Cosmos: An Agentic Infra for Situated Learning

AI Cosmos Team, Jinfeng Zhou, Yuxuan Chen, Fangming Chang, Mingyu Su, Yifan Zhu, Yuan Wang, Bo Zhang 等 35 位作者

Large language models (LLMs) can improve task performance during learning, yet these gains do not necessarily reflect learners' ability to thereafter apply the knowledge and skills independently. We present AI Cosmos, an agentic infrastructure for situated learning that organizes learning around two complementary principles: scenario-based participation and cumulative assets of practice. AI Cosmos organizes learners and role-specialized agents within learning scenarios that integrate task-relevant knowledge and, when needed, executable workbenches. An asset-memory loop preserves the processes and outcomes of practice as reusable assets with explicit provenance and dependencies. We evaluate scenario-based interaction through two preregistered randomized controlled studies examining the acquisition of legal reasoning and programming competence, holding the same underlying LLM across conditions. AI Cosmos achieves greater learning gains than a conventional LLM in legal reasoning and higher mastery of unseen programming problems than an LLM-as-Teacher baseline.
