VitronEdit:跨图像、视频与3D场景的通用视觉编辑

VitronEdit: Universal Visual Editing across Images, Videos, and 3D Scenes

AI 速览:VitronEdit 提出一个统一框架,用共享序列表示和渐进式多模态训练,把图像与视频编辑知识迁移到数据稀缺的3D场景编辑。

Recent advances in unified visual editing have begun to consolidate image and video editing within a single model, while 3D scene editing remains largely separate and constrained by scarce paired training data. Given the rich image and video editing supervision now available and the common editing semantics shared across modalities, a natural question is whether this knowledge can be transferred to data-scarce 3D editing. We present VitronEdit, a universal framework for image, video, and 3D scene editing. VitronEdit adopts a shared sequence representation and progressive multimodal training to transfer editing knowledge across modalities. We further introduce geometry-aware post-training, which leverages a pretrained geometry reconstruction model to provide depth and camera-pose supervision. Surprisingly, applying geometric supervision only to 3D samples yields the best overall performance, while image and video editing also improve despite receiving no direct geometric supervision, suggesting that geometric regularization transfers through the shared backbone. Our analysis further shows that image and video training mainly transfers editing semantics to 3D, whereas 3D supervision primarily improves multi-view consistency. IMPACT:融合逆变器信息的多元学习光伏发电预测

IMPACT: Inverter-Informed Multimodal Learning for Photovoltaic Generation Forecasting

AI 速览:提出一种物理信息驱动的多分支多模态深度学习框架,用于10至110分钟前光伏功率概率预测,并报告其优于14个基线模型。

This work develops a physics-informed multimodal deep learning framework for 10- to 110-minute-ahead probabilistic photovoltaic power forecasting. The forecasting model is built on a four-branch architecture that separately encodes plant-level temporal history and inverter-level spatial cloud dynamics through a graph attention encoder with a learned adjacency, known-future solar geometry, and the current meteorological state, fused through gated cross-attention. The geometry branch adds two forward-looking physical signals, spatial cloud heterogeneity and inverter ramp-down activity, each empirically weighted toward the horizon where it is most predictive. The decoder anchors its prediction to a smart persistence baseline, learning a horizon-conditioned correction, and the resulting quantile forecasts are calibrated online through a kernel-weighted adaptive conformal calibration step. The proposed model outperforms all 14 baselines, achieving a forecast skill score (FSS) of 0.2950, 0.099 above the next-best model. A branch-composition ablation shows that every branch contributes positively and the model retains substantial skill in challenging overcast and variable sky conditions (FSS 0.198 and 0.255).

PHKT:Personalized Dynamic Hypergraph-enhanced KAN-Transformer for Multi-behavior Sequential Recommendation

Ruijie Du, Hao Chen, Xin Zhang, Dongjing Wang, Ze Zhang, Xudong Shen, Runze Wu, Dongjin Yu

In multi-behavior recommendation, auxiliary behaviors such as clicks, add-to-cart, and purchases can provide richer supervisory information for predicting target behaviors. Although existing graph and hypergraph methods are capable of modeling high-order relationships among users, items, and behaviors, they still have limitations in heterogeneous semantics, user-specific weighting, and sequence dependency modeling. While standard Transformers excel at sequence modeling, their shared feedforward mapping struggles to accommodate the differentiated requirements of heterogeneous latent patterns in multi-behavior scenarios. To address this, this paper proposes the Personalized Hypergraph-enhanced Kolmogorov-Arnold Network Transformer (PHKT). Specifically, we design a personalized dynamic hypergraph module that performs behavior-aware weighting of item similarities based on users' historical behavior sequences to capture user-specific heterogeneous high-order relationships. Meanwhile, a Transformer is used as the temporal backbone to model the evolution of short- and long-term preferences, and KAN is introduced to replace the traditional MLP in the feedforward network to enhance fine-grained modeling capability for nonlinear responses to different latent patterns. Experiments on three real datasets, Tmall, RetailRocket, and IJCAI, show that PHKT consistently outperforms nine strong baseline models across multiple evaluation metrics, demonstrating its effectiveness in multi-behavior preference modeling and target behavior prediction.

Conditional Memory Enhanced Item Representation for Generative Recommendation

Ziwei Liu, Yejing Wang, Shengyu Zhou, Xinhang Li, Xiangyu Zhao

Generative recommendation (GR) has emerged as a promising paradigm that predicts target items by autoregressively generating their semantic identifiers (SID). Most GR methods follow a quantization-representation-generation pipeline. While most research focuses on quantization and generation, the representation that bridges the two remains underexplored. Existing representation constructions mainly take two forms: either directly flattening the SID code embeddings into a sequence or merging them into a compact vector via external networks. While effective, they still expose two practical challenges: \textbf{1) Loss of item semantics:} Information lost by quantization or compression needs to be recovered during the representation stage. \textbf{2) Insufficient modeling of structured SID relations:} Intra-item code composition patterns and inter-item prefix-transition patterns are not explicitly preserved for representation and subsequent SID generation. To overcome these challenges, we propose \textbf{ComeIR}, a \textbf{\uline{Co}}nditional \textbf{\uline{me}}mory Enhanced \textbf{\uline{I}}tem \textbf{\uline{R}}epresentation framework that reconstructs SID code embeddings into item-aware inputs and preserves structured SID evidence for prediction. Item-guided Token Scoring estimates the contribution of each SID code using the item embedding employed by the quantizer. Dual-level Conditional Memory captures intra-item prefix composition and inter-item prefix transitions, while Memory Merge integrates these signals into each historical item representation. The Memory-restoring Prediction Head further conditions SID-level prediction on the generated prefix and historical transition evidence. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and flexibility of ComeIR, and further reveal scalable gains from enlarging conditional memory.

Locating Sycophancy Across Training Stages in Open Language Models

Jiarui Yao, Shweta Parihar, Nghia Tuan Bui, Guergana K Savova, Lijing Wang

Language model assistants sometimes change a correct answer when the user suggests a wrong one. The behavior, called sycophancy, is usually attributed to preference-based post-training, yet early measurements found it in pretrained models. We ask where it comes from by measuring it at every available stage of training: 13 open checkpoints from 5 lineages, from base model through supervised fine-tuning and preference optimization to release. We separate how far an injected claim moves a model's answer from how firmly the answer was held, and vary who makes the claim, how reliable they are said to be, and how strongly they make it. Two sycophancy behaviors with different origins emerge, and both replicate across datasets. Deference to a claim in the prompt is already present in every base model, which ranks sources in the same order as its post-trained descendants. Capitulation in conversation, dropping a stated answer when the user objects, is largely absent from base models and present in every post-trained checkpoint. When the objection names an alternative, most post-trained models give up firmly held answers as often as loosely held ones. We discuss the implications of these measurements for evaluating sycophancy and approaches for addressing each behavior.

A Multi-Agent Framework for High-Interaction Terminal Simulation

Kai Wei, Yuwen Cui, Kehan Shen University of South Florida, Hua Wei Arizona State University, Guangjing Wang University of South Florida

Terminal simulation, framed as a terminal command-level Turing test, is a long-standing problem of symbolic language generation in dialogue and interactive systems. Prior scripted simulators lack the flexibility needed for complex, multi-turn interactions, while LLM-based approaches often misinterpret commands, break output formats, drift from system state, and remain vulnerable to prompt injection. In this work, we propose MANTIS, a terminal simulation framework that improves realism, consistency, and robustness in command-language generation. MANTIS integrates a multi-agent architecture with a filter-based routing model that safely dispatches commands to external tools or an LLM-based agent, enabling support for interactive commands while defending against prompt injection attacks. In addition, we design an agentic file system with history pruning to preserve long-term state consistency. We release three datasets: 28,045 real terminal input-output pairs, a 1,000-session multi-turn interaction dataset, and a 25,849-instance labeled classification dataset. MANTIS outperforms state-of-the-art baselines by more than 9%, achieving over 95% accuracy on multi-turn terminal simulation. The dataset and source code are available at https://github.com/kaiwei666a/MANTIS_Terminal_Simulation

Why Do More Experts Fail? A Theoretical Analysis of Model Merging

Zijing Wang, Xingle Xu Northeastern University, YongKang Liu Northeast University, Yiqun Zhang Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and Northeastern University, Peiqin Lin, Shi Feng Northeastern University, China, Daling Wang, Xiaocui Yang Northeastern University 等 9 位作者

Model merging dramatically reduces storage and computational resources by combining multiple expert models into a single multi-task model. However, existing methods struggle to maintain performance gains as the number of merged models increases. In this paper, we investigate the key obstacles that limit the scalability of model merging. We prove that the limited effective parameter space imposes a strict constraint on the number of models that can be successfully merged. Through Gaussian Width analysis, we show that marginal benefits diminish according to a strictly concave function as more models are merged. Using Approximate Kinematics Theory, we further prove the existence of a unique optimal threshold beyond which additional models yield negligible improvements. To address this limitation, we propose a straightforward Reparameterized Heavy-Tailed method to extend the merged model’s coverage and enhance performance. Empirical results on 19 benchmarks, including both knowledge-intensive and general-purpose tasks, validate our theoretical analysis. We believe that these results spark further research beyond the current scope of model merging.

Look Within or Beyond? A Theoretical Comparison Between Parameter-Efficient and Full Fine-Tuning

YongKang Liu Northeast University, Xingle Xu Northeastern University, Ercong Nie Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zijing Wang, Shi Feng Northeastern University, China, Daling Wang, Qian Li Shandong University, Hinrich Schuetze

Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning (PEFT) has become a popular alternative to Full-Parameter Fine-Tuning (FFT), achieving similar performance on many benchmarks with far lower computational and memory costs. Yet, its effectiveness on complex tasks such as reasoning and instruction-following remains unclear. In this work, we provide a theoretical and empirical comparison of PEFT and FFT in terms of representational capacity and robustness. We show that PEFT’s solution space is a strict subset of FFT’s and derive upper bounds revealing how its restricted parameterization limits expressiveness and increases vulnerability to perturbations. Experiments on 20 datasets and 11 adversarial test sets support these findings, indicating that while PEFT performs well on standard tasks, its weaknesses on complex and adversarial settings call for new directions beyond current PEFT paradigms. The source code is in the anonymous GitHub repository[https://anonymous.4open.science/r/PEFTEval-E2AC ].

VALU: A Benchmark for Video Anomaly Temporal Localization and Understanding at Multiple Semantic Levels

Yixiao He Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Menghao Zhang Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Haifeng Sun, Jing Wang, Kangheng Lin, Jinghan Wang Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Chenye Xu, Pengfei Ren Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications 等 10 位作者

Video anomaly understanding (VAU) is critical for real-world scenarios. Recent advances in Video Large Language Models (Video-LLMs) enhance the ability of VAU models to describe and interpret anomalies. However, progress in anomaly localization is still limited by two key issues. First, most existing video anomaly datasets only annotate segments that are clearly inconsistent with the context, often omitting subsequent segments that are semantically part of the same abnormal event. Second, the field lacks systematic evaluation protocols. To bridge these gaps, we introduce VALU, a new benchmark that explicitly defines anomalies across five semantic levels and provides comprehensive temporal boundaries and detailed textual descriptions for each. Based on these annotations, we design three evaluation tasks that comprehensively assess models’ capabilities across different dimensions, including temporal grounding, anomaly localization, and anomaly detail discrimination. Evaluation results reveal persistent challenges in current models’ capabilities on VAU. We further analyze and discuss these findings, and hope that both VALU and insights will advance research in VAU and the development of Video-LLMs. Our benchmark will be publicly available.
