Dual DeltaNet: Value-Side Memory Reorganization for Linear Attention

Yixiao Qian, Yaxin Zhang, Song Chen, Jiaxu Liu, Shengze Cai, Chao Xu

Linear attention and state space models (SSMs) offer efficient alternatives to softmax attention by maintaining a fixed-size recurrent state, but this design requires careful management to preserve useful historical associations and limit interference. The delta rule helps reduce interference through correction of the value associated with each key, but it does not explicitly account for how related value features are distributed across the state. We observe that a state $\boldsymbol{S}\in\mathbb{R}^{d_k\times d_v}$ can be viewed as a bank of $d_k$ addresses storing $d_v$-dimensional values. While a key-side read $\boldsymbol{S}^\top\boldsymbol{k}$ retrieves the value associated with $\boldsymbol{k}$, a value-side read $\boldsymbol{S}\boldsymbol{e}$ aggregates addresses whose stored value features match the selector $\boldsymbol{e}$. Based on this observation, we propose Dual DeltaNet (DDN), which extends Kimi Delta Attention (KDA) with a two-sided delta rule. The key-side delta rule reads with the current key to correct its associated value, while the complementary value-side delta rule reads with selected features of the current value to reorganize the addresses it occupies. We derive a chunkwise parallel training algorithm and a rank-2 recurrence that increases arithmetic intensity during inference. Compared with KDA, GDN-2, and Mamba-3, DDN achieves the strongest overall performance across language modeling, zero-shot downstream tasks, and retrieval, while incurring modest training and inference overhead relative to KDA. HABIT-Bench: Evaluating Habit Induction from Longitudinal Weak Evidence in Agent Memory

Junming Zhang, Rubin Wei, Xu Cheng, Hao Sun, Jiarui Wang, Ruoxi Cheng, Xiquan Wang, Peisong Wu 等 10 位作者

In long-term interactions with large language model (LLM) agents, users reveal habits through their choices and actions. These habits capture implicit user information that agents must infer across conversations. However, individual observations may provide only partial evidence about a habit or when it applies. Retaining past interactions alone does not ensure that agents can infer habits and apply them appropriately. We introduce HABIT-Bench to evaluate how well agent memory systems infer habits from weak evidence and apply them to later requests. We construct synthetic user histories from task-oriented dialogue data and controlled habit graphs. The histories span hundreds of sessions across food, finance, software, and travel. Four-choice tasks assess agents' ability to infer user habits and apply them appropriately. They include temporary exceptions, changes in habits, and suggestions that users have not accepted. Sampled tasks undergo independent human review. We evaluate eight memory methods with Qwen3-235B-A22B and GLM-5.3-Flash. The best-performing memory method achieves 33.61\% macro accuracy across the four domains. Performance remains limited even when annotated evidence is supplied directly. These results expose a persistent gap between access to past interactions and the ability to infer and appropriately use user habits.

MegaRAG: Multimodal Knowledge Graph-Based Retrieval Augmented Generation

Chi-Hsiang Hsiao National Taiwan University, Yi-Cheng Wang National Taiwan University, Tzung-Sheng Lin National Taiwan University, Yi-Ren Yeh, Chu-song Chen National Taiwan University

Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) enables large language models (LLMs) to dynamically access external information, which is powerful for answering questions over previously unseen documents. Nonetheless, they struggle with high-level conceptual understanding and holistic comprehension due to limited context windows, which constrain their ability to perform deep reasoning over long-form, domain-specific content such as full-length books. To solve this problem, knowledge graphs (KGs) have been leveraged to provide entity-centric structure and hierarchical summaries, offering more structured support for reasoning. However, existing KG-based RAG solutions remain restricted to text-only inputs and fail to leverage the complementary insights provided by other modalities such as vision. On the other hand, reasoning from visual documents requires textual, visual, and spatial cues into structured, hierarchical concepts. To address this issue, we introduce a multimodal knowledge graph-based RAG that enables cross-modal reasoning for better content understanding. Our method incorporates visual cues into the construction of knowledge graphs, the retrieval phase, and the answer generation process. Experimental results across both global and fine-grained question answering tasks show that our approach consistently outperforms existing approaches on both textual and multimodal benchmarks.
