ActQuant: Sub-4-bit Action-Guided Backbone Weight-Only Quantization for Vision-Language-Action Models

Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models exhibit remarkable action generation for embodied intelligence, but their heavy compute make deployment on edge platforms impractical. Aggressive, sub-4-bit weight quantization is the natural solution, yet existing post-training quantization (PTQ) methods suffer severe performance degradation in this regime. To address this, we introduce ActQuant, an action-guided mixed-precision PTQ framework that operates in two stages: (1) an inter-tensor bit allocator that assigns each weight matrix a single bit-width based on how much it contributes to predicting the agent's actions; (2) an intra-tensor scale optimizer tunes per-block quantization scales using action-aware curvature, so that dynamic range is concentrated on the weights most influential for control. To deliver the on-device benefits of our aggressive quantization, we further introduce OmniModel.cpp, an agentic conversion pipeline that ports architectures into a native C/C++ runtime with efficient low-bit kernels. We evaluate ActQuant both in simulation and on a real-world 6-DoF UR3 arm, with all models deployed through OmniModel.cpp. On the LIBERO benchmark, ActQuant is the only method that operates at or below 3 bits-per-weight, retaining 95.0% on OpenVLA-OFT and 94.8% on $π_{0.5}$. Pushed further, ActQuant reaches 2.5 bpw at 90.1% on OpenVLA-OFT, compressing the backbone from 14.3 GB to 2.7 GB (5.3$\times$). On the physical UR3 arm, $π_{0.5}$ quantized with ActQuant retains the baseline's success rate while reducing the memory footprint by 2.5$\times$.

Interactive World Simulation with Cosmos for Physical AI

NVIDIA, :, Anis Ahmad, Jon Allen, Malik Aqeel Anwar, Jesse Archer, Maciej Bala, Piotr Barejko 等 90 位作者

We present a shared framework that adapts Cosmos world foundation models for real-time interactive world simulation in Physical AI. By streaming visual observations in response to actions and scene controls, the framework enables users and embodied agents to interact with evolving virtual environments. It supports both predicting the visual consequences of actions and generating observations from physical state maintained by an external simulator. We demonstrate this approach across camera navigation and robot manipulation, controllable video transfer, and multi-view autonomous vehicle (AV) simulation. These examples provide a shared foundation for developing interactive virtual environments for Physical AI training and evaluation. Our code and model checkpoints are available at https://github.com/nvidia/cosmos and https://huggingface.co/collections/nvidia/cosmos3-examples. Beyond Modeling Order: Dual-Path Spatiotemporal Representation Learning for Cross-Subject EEG Emotion Recognition

Zehui Xiao, Yi Zheng, Guixing Fu, Wenkai Lu, Lingfei He, Tao Tan, Yue Liu, Silun Wang 等 10 位作者

Cross-subject generalization remains a major challenge for EEG-based emotion recognition due to pronounced inter-subject variability in neural activity and emotion-related spatiotemporal patterns. Existing methods mainly alleviate inter subject differences through distribution alignment or contrastive learning, while paying limited attention to representation bias associated with fixed spatiotemporal modeling orders. We hypothesize that high-level emotion representations of the same EEG signal should remain consistent across different spatiotemporal modeling paths. Based on this hypothesis, we propose a Dual-Path Spatiotemporal Contrastive Learning (DP-STCL) framework for cross-subject EEG emotion recognition. DP-STCL employs two complementary encoders with independent parameters, namely a Temporal-to-Spatial (TS) path and a Spatial to-Temporal (ST) path, to model EEG spatiotemporal information under different integration orders. During representation learning, the same emotional stimulus is used to establish cross subject associations, while three complementary relations jointly constrain representation variations across subjects and modeling paths. This promotes stable and discriminative stimulus-related emotion representations. To further handle limited labeled target subject data, we introduce a LoRA-based few-shot adaptation strategy with low parameter overhead. Extensive cross-subject experiments on SEED, SEED-IV, SEED-V, and FACED show that DP-STCL consistently outperforms the compared methods, demonstrating its effectiveness in improving cross-subject EEG emotion recognition.

Breaking the Impasse: Dual-Scale Evolutionary Policy Training for Social Language Agents

While Reinforcement Learning with Verifiable Rewards (RLVR) has proven effective for closed-ended tasks, extending it to open-ended social language games via self-play reveals a critical issue: evolution impasse. Due to the vast strategy space, language agents frequently converge to homogenized behaviors, leading to deterministic match outcomes that eliminate the gradient signals necessary for policy evolution. To tackle this issue, we propose Dual-scale Evolutionary Policy Training (DEPT) for social language games. DEPT introduces a time-scaled evolutionary perception mechanism that detects impasse by quantifying dual-scale value baseline divergence alongside match entropy. Upon perceiving the collapse, it then activates asymmetric advantage reshaping to dynamically modulate the optimization landscape for intervention. Thus, our method effectively restores gradient signals and enforces sustained strategic exploration. Extensive experiments on multiple social language games demonstrate that DEPT outperforms strong baselines, avoiding policy degeneration and driving the continuous evolution of social language agents.

A-MEM:面向LLM智能体的智能体式记忆

A-MEM: Agentic Memory for LLM Agents

Wujiang Xu, Zujie Liang, Kai Mei, Hang Gao, Juntao Tan, Yongfeng Zhang

AI 速览:提出一种借鉴Zettelkasten方法、由智能体动态组织和演化记忆的LLM智能体记忆系统。

While large language model (LLM) agents can effectively use external tools for complex real-world tasks, they require memory systems to leverage historical experiences. Current memory systems enable basic storage and retrieval but lack sophisticated memory organization, despite recent attempts to incorporate graph databases. Moreover, these systems' fixed operations and structures limit their adaptability across diverse tasks. To address this limitation, this paper proposes a novel agentic memory system for LLM agents that can dynamically organize memories in an agentic way. Following the basic principles of the Zettelkasten method, we designed our memory system to create interconnected knowledge networks through dynamic indexing and linking. When a new memory is added, we generate a comprehensive note containing multiple structured attributes, including contextual descriptions, keywords, and tags. The system then analyzes historical memories to identify relevant connections, establishing links where meaningful similarities exist. Additionally, this process enables memory evolution - as new memories are integrated, they can trigger updates to the contextual representations and attributes of existing historical memories, allowing the memory network to continuously refine its understanding. Our approach combines the structured organization principles of Zettelkasten with the flexibility of agent-driven decision making, allowing for more adaptive and context-aware memory management. Empirical experiments on six foundation models show superior improvement against existing SOTA baselines. The source code for evaluating performance is available at https://github.com/WujiangXu/A-mem, while the source code of the agentic memory system is available at https://github.com/WujiangXu/A-mem-sys.
