Speculative decoding has been treated purely as a systems optimization that speeds up large language model decoding without changing the model behavior. Under this view, the growing effort to train better draft models has been focused solely on acceptance rate. We argue that this view does not hold true for long-horizon agent reasoning. Measuring frontier open-weight models on complex agentic tasks with different speculative decoding approaches, we found that numerical noise grows within verification windows, and the draft acceptance results of the thinking process can change the output distribution of the model after 30 steps, thus noticeably influencing the reasoning accuracy of long-horizon agents in random directions. In this work, we improve the reasoning capability of target models by controlling such noise. While we cannot change the overall token distribution verified by the target model, we can encode critical reasoning with highest precision by training the draft model to be rejected. We identify these points in agent traces and train the draft model to favor adversarial preference. At inference the trained draft and the target part ways precisely at these decision points, verification restarts, so that critical thinking tokens are sampled from the target model and encoded under its least noisy conditions. This approach makes critical reasoning better indexed and more durable over a long horizon. On complex agentic coding benchmarks, our approach raises end-to-end success rate with no change to the target model or its output distribution. Our results recast the speculative decoding mechanism from a pure accelerator into an active allocator for context precision that improves the accuracy of long-horizon agents by training 0.06% to 0.28% of hosted parameters.

Diffusion Masked Pretraining for Dynamic Point Cloud

Zhuoyue Zhang, Yiding Sun, Chaowei Fang, Haozhe Cheng, Jian Liu, Ajmal Saeed Mian, Jihua Zhu

原文摘要

Dynamic point cloud pretraining is still dominated by masked reconstruction objectives. However, these objectives inherit two key limitations. Existing methods inject ground-truth tube centers as decoder positional embeddings, causing spatio-temporal positional leakage. Moreover, they supervise inter-frame motion with deterministic proxy targets that systematically discard distributional structure by collapsing multimodal trajectory uncertainty into conditional means. To address these limitations, we propose Diffusion Masked Pretraining (DiMP), a unified self-supervised framework for dynamic point clouds. DiMP introduces diffusion modeling into both positional inference and motion learning. It first applies forward diffusion noise only to masked tube centers, then predicts clean centers from visible spatio-temporal context. This removes positional leakage while preserving visible coordinates as clean temporal anchors. DiMP also reformulates point-wise inter-frame displacement supervision as a DDPM noise-prediction objective conditioned on decoded representations. This design drives the encoder to target the full conditional distribution of plausible motions under a variational surrogate, rather than collapsing to a single deterministic estimate. Extensive experiments demonstrate that DiMP consistently improves downstream accuracy over the backbone alone, with absolute gains of 11.21\% on offline action segmentation and 13.65\% under causally constrained online inference. M3Former: Fine-Grained Cross-Layer Mixing for Transformers

Jiasong Han, Yunkai Chai, Tong Zhu, Hengyu Zhang, Wei Fang, Jintao Wang, Guoqi Li, Yu Cheng

原文摘要

Residual connections give each Transformer block access to all earlier layers only through one fixed sum, broadcast to all of the block's inputs. This broadcast bottleneck imposes three constraints: the query, key, value and residual inputs of a block, which we call its roles, read the same vector; all hidden dimensions within a role share one set of weights over earlier layers; and every earlier layer has the same fixed weight for every token. We propose the Multi-Role Multi-Group Mixing Residual (M3), which removes all three: every role, and every group of hidden dimensions within a role, reads its own token-dependent mixture of all earlier layers. M3 starts as an exact residual connection and adds as little as 1.4% parameters and 1.8% FLOPs. From 100M to 1.4B parameters, M3Former outperforms the Transformer and coarse-grained cross-layer connections at every size, matching a Transformer 1.19-1.34x the size of the one it modifies, trained with 1.4-1.8x the compute. Relaxing only some of the constraints recovers only part of this gain. M3Former also improves sparse mixture-of-experts models of up to 4.6B parameters and trains more stably in deeper networks. LegalDrill: Diagnosis-Driven Synthesis for Legal Reasoning in Small Language Models

Tianchun Li, Haochen Liu, Vishwa Pardeshi, Xingchen Wang, Tianci Liu, Huijun Zhao, Wei Fan, Jing Gao

原文摘要

Small language models (SLMs) are promising for real-world deployment due to their efficiency and low operational cost. However, their limited capacity struggles with high-stakes legal reasoning tasks that require coherent statute interpretation and logically consistent deduction. Furthermore, training SLMs for such tasks demands high-quality, concise reasoning trajectories, which are prohibitively expensive to manually collect and difficult to curate via standard rejection sampling, which lacks granularity beyond final verdicts. To address these challenges, we propose LegalDrill, a diagnosis-driven synthesis framework that extracts and iteratively refines reasoning trajectories from a capable teacher via fine-grained prompting, then a self-reflective verification is employed to adaptively select the most effective data for the SLM student. The resulting data empower SLM training through supervised fine-tuning and direct preference optimization. Extensive experiments on several legal benchmarks demonstrate that LegalDrill significantly bolsters the legal reasoning capabilities of representative SLMs while bypassing the need for scarce expert annotations, paving a scalable path toward practical legal reasoning systems.

LoPT: Lossless Parallel Tokenization Acceleration for Long Context Inference of Large Language Model

Wei Shao, Zheng Lingchao Huawei Technologies Ltd., Pengyu Wang, Peizhen Zheng Huawei Technologies Ltd., Li Jun, Yuwei Fan Huawei Technologies Ltd.

原文摘要

Long context inference scenarios have become increasingly important for large language models, yet they introduce significant computational latency. While prior research has optimized long-sequence inference through operators, model architectures, and system frameworks, tokenization remains an overlooked bottleneck. Existing parallel tokenization methods accelerate processing through text segmentation and multi-process tokenization, but they suffer from inconsistent results due to boundary artifacts that occur after merging. To address this, we propose LoPT, a novel Lossless Parallel Tokenization framework that ensures output identical to standard sequential tokenization. Our approach employs character-position-based matching and dynamic chunk length adjustment to align and merge tokenized segments accurately. Extensive experiments across diverse long-text datasets demonstrate that LoPT achieves significant speedup while guaranteeing lossless tokenization. We also provide theoretical proof of consistency and comprehensive analytical studies to validate the robustness of our method.

原文摘要

We present AutoSchemaKG, a framework for fully autonomous knowledge graph construction that eliminates the need for predefined schemas. Our system leverages large language models to simultaneously extract knowledge triples and induce comprehensive schemas directly from text, modeling both entities and events while employing conceptualization to organize instances into semantic categories. Processing over 50 million documents, we construct ATLAS (Automated Triple Linking And Schema induction), a family of knowledge graphs with 900+ million nodes and 5.9 billion edges. This approach outperforms state-of-the-art baselines on multi-hop QA tasks and enhances LLM factuality. Notably, our schema induction achieves 92% semantic alignment with human-crafted schemas with zero manual intervention, demonstrating that billion-scale knowledge graphs with dynamically induced schemas can effectively complement parametric knowledge in large language models.
