ToolSpace: Scaling Tool-Centric Environment Synthesis for Long-Horizon Agents

Large language models are deployed as long-horizon agents that compose diverse tools across MCP services into executable workflows. Existing MCP environment-scaling methods are data-centric: they first synthesize a database and scenario, then derive tools and tasks from them. As a result, tool interfaces may not match real ones, tool compositions are not grounded in execution, and tasks rarely span more than one environment. We propose ToolSpace, a tool-centric framework that reverses this order. ToolSpace mines data, state, and retry dependencies from adjacent calls in execution traces of real MCP services and open agent corpora, using deterministic rules rather than LLM judgment, and clusters the resulting weighted tool-composition graph into environments. Databases are synthesized only for state-mutating environments, while query and stateless tools replay recorded returns. ToolSpace then performs state-aware random walks with rollback and decompiles each chain into a natural-language task with assertion-based checks, keeping only samples that replay successfully from the initial state. Applied to AutomationBench and tau3-Bench Banking, the pipeline produces harder Pro versions on which 7 frontier models drop by up to 38.2 points. Across seven long-horizon tool-use benchmarks, ToolSpace raises Qwen3.6-35B-A3B from 23.0 to 41.0 average score (43.2 with RL) and GLM-5.2 from 44.6 to 56.6, on par with Claude Opus 5. Ablations show that execution-witnessed edges clearly outperform LLM-judged ones, and performance keeps improving with data and environment scale.

One Assistant, Many Memories: Benchmarking Real-World Group Assistance When Recall Is Not Enough

Zhanghao Hu, Linhai Zhang, Qian Zhao, Qi Zhu, Yuan Hua, Di Liang, Jiasheng Si, Xin Zhao 等 11 位作者

The value of memory lies not only in recall but in using it to provide appropriate assistance. Recent benchmarks test memory use in personalisation and agentic tasks, but seldom evaluate assistance without fixed answers or integration across multiple participants. Group chats make both challenges more acute: an assistant must integrate information from multiple members, track revisions and conflicts over time, and produce one response for the group. Yet existing group memory benchmarks rely on synthetic conversations and inherit constrained evaluation from general memory benchmarks, focusing on recall against fixed answers or decisions over a closed set. We introduce GroupAssistBench, the first memory benchmark from real-world group conversations with a deployed group assistant, covering 80,299 messages in 50 groups and costing over $53K. Over the same histories, GroupAssistBench evaluates memory recall (L1) with reference answers and memory use (L2) with service requests without fixed answers across single, distributed, and conflicting memories (M1--M3). Requests are verified to require group history, memories are anchored to their sources, and L2 uses tailored rubrics with penalties derived from real user feedback. Across evaluations of frontier models with full context, retrieval methods, and memory systems, the strongest memory system rivals full context on recall but falls far behind on use, especially for distributed and conflicting memories. Together, two additions that relate retrieved memories and bind remembered facts as response constraints bring consistent gains, showing that group memory systems must improve use, not recall alone.

CoworkOS:Scaling Agent Coworkers for Real-world Automation

Jiajie Jin, Guanting Dong, Chengjun Pan, Xin Deng, Zhuohui Sheng, Guoqiang Wang, Tao Gui, Yutao Zhu 等 40 位作者

Rapid advances in cowork agents are shifting human-AI collaboration toward real-world automation, delivering software, designs, and other artifacts. However, such productivity work demands both high-quality delivery on complex productivity tasks and continued monitoring and decision-making over long horizons, a combination that remains an open challenge. We introduce CoworkOS, a general-purpose harness for long-horizon work that separates task strategy from execution management: the model decides actions, delegation, and acceptance, while the runtime maintains state and feedback. Its three-layer architecture enables direct execution or delegation to Subagents, synchronously or asynchronously, under stable responsibilities. Through a shared application layer, humans and agents inspect and revise the same evolving documents, presentations, CAD models, and Blender scenes, so human-in-the-loop participation can enter both through conversation and through direct modification of the work itself. To sustain continuity across agents and sessions, CoworkOS further introduces hierarchical workspaces and persistent semantic memory, so working files, key decisions, and long-running Job logs remain shareable, reusable, and resumable after interruption. Across 12 benchmarks and 6 categories of real-world applications, CoworkOS proves highly competitive with frontier agent applications such as Codex and DeepSeek Harness. As a sustained-work case study, CoworkOS uses GLM-5.3 as its backbone to conduct RSI-driven automated post-training on Qwen3.6-35B-A3B. Over five rounds, the model's average score across eight benchmarks rose from 33.19 to 42.95 (+9.76). Looking ahead, we believe CoworkOS opens a meaningful path toward general cowork-agent intelligence.

Implicit Minor Detection from Multi-Turn Dialogue in High-Risk AI Interactions: A Constrained Self-Evolving LLM Harness

Xiaohan Zhang, Ying Zhao, Ruilin Guo, Xuanyuan Yu, Kaibo Huang, Yukun Wei, Zhongliang Yang, Linna Zhou

In high-risk text interactions, a system may need to estimate whether the current speaker is likely to be a minor before applying age-conditioned safeguards. Many text-based dialogue systems lack strong identity signals such as account information, verified identity, facial data, or device data, and must rely on weak cues that emerge across multiple turns. We formulate implicit minor detection under weak identity information as a high-risk user-attribute inference task and propose a constrained framework comprising a large language model, a Harness, and a Maker-Checker protocol. The framework controls when inference is invoked, requires structured dialogue-linked evidence, and subjects validation-selected Harness revisions to version-level review. On a controlled Chinese benchmark comprising 8,328 multi-turn dialogues, our method improves average precision and minor-class F1 by 7.60 and 6.37 percentage points, respectively, over direct inference using the same LLM family.

SymbolicThought: Integrating Language Models and Symbolic Reasoning for Consistent and Interpretable Human Relationship Understanding

Runcong Zhao, Qinglin Zhu King's College London, University of London, Hainiu Xu, Bin Liang The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Lin Gui King's College London, University of London, Yulan He King's College London, University of London

Understanding character relationships is essential for interpreting complex narratives and conducting socially grounded AI research. However, manual annotation is time-consuming and low in coverage, while large language models (LLMs) often produce hallucinated or logically inconsistent outputs. We present SymbolicThought, a human-in-the-loop framework that combines LLM-based extraction with symbolic reasoning. The system constructs editable character relationship graphs, refines them using seven types of logical constraints, and enables real-time validation and conflict resolution through an interactive interface. To support logical supervision and explainable social analysis, we release a dataset of 160 interpersonal relationships with corresponding logical structures. Experiments show that SymbolicThought improves annotation accuracy and consistency while significantly reducing time cost, offering a practical tool for narrative understanding, explainable AI, and LLM evaluation. The source code and dataset are publicly available on GitHub (https://github.com/BLPXSPG/SymbolicThought).

AgentGym2: Benchmarking Large Language Model Agents in De-Idealized Real-World Environments

Zhiheng Xi, Dingwen Yang, Jiaqi Liu, Jixuan Huang Fudan University, Honglin Guo Fudan University, Baodai Huang, Tinggang Chen, Qi Zhang 等 25 位作者

Language agents, i.e., LLM agents, progress rapidly and are increasingly deployed in production environments. This trend underscores the urgent need for rigorous and realistic evaluations. However, most existing benchmarks evaluate agents in simplified, idealized settings. They typically rely on pre-packaged tool interfaces, overlook critical steps, and assume inputs are clean and fully specified. Consequently, they understate the difficulty of real deployments, where uncertainty and noise are ubiquitous and agents must proactively explore the environment to uncover new tools. To bridge this gap, we present AgentGym2, a new evaluation framework with task instances grounded in real-world end-to-end working demands. Beyond reasoning and planning, it measures agents’ ability to execute end-to-end procedures, discover tools via exploration, compose tools for unseen tasks, and remain robust to noisy and underspecified information. Experiments on 15 proprietary and open-source models show that even SOTA systems like Gemini and GPT-5 struggle on AgentGym2, revealing a substantial gap between the capability of current agents and the demands of real-world applications.

OctoBench: Benchmarking Scaffold-Aware Instruction Following in Repository-Grounded Agentic Coding

Deming Ding Large Language Model Algorithm Engineer, Shichun Liu, Enhui Yang, Jiahang Lin, Ziying Chen, Shihan Dou, Honglin Guo Fudan University, Weiyu Cheng Minimax Ai 等 15 位作者

Modern coding scaffolds turn LLMs into capable software agents, but their ability to follow scaffold-specified instructions remains under-examined, especially when constraints are heterogeneous and persist across interactions. To fill this gap, we introduce OctoBench, which benchmarks scaffold-aware instruction following in repository-grounded agentic coding. OctoBench includes 34 environments and 217 tasks instantiated under three scaffold types, and is paired with 7,098 objective checklist items. To disentangle solving the task from following the rules, we provide an automated observation-and-scoring toolkit that captures full trajectories and performs fine-grained checks. Experiments on eight representative models reveal a systematic gap between task-solving and scaffold-aware compliance, underscoring the need for training and evaluation that explicitly targets heterogeneous instruction following. We will release the benchmark to support reproducible benchmarking and to accelerate the development of more scaffold-aware coding agents.

ToolGrad:利用文本“梯度”高效生成工具使用数据集

ToolGrad: Efficient Tool-use Dataset Generation with Textual "Gradients"

Zhongyi Zhou, Kohei Uehara, Haoyu Zhang, Jingtao Zhou, Lin Gu, Ruofei Du, Zheng Xu, Tatsuya Harada

AI 速览:ToolGrad 提出“先答案后问题”的智能体框架,通过文本“梯度”迭代构造有效工具调用链,再反向合成用户查询,从而低成本生成高质量工具使用数据集。

Prior work synthesizes tool-use LLM datasets by first generating a user query, followed by complex tool-use annotations like depth-first search (DFS). This leads to inevitable annotation failures and low efficiency in data generation. We introduce ToolGrad, an agentic framework that inverts this paradigm. ToolGrad first constructs valid tool-use chains through an iterative process guided by textual "gradients", and then synthesizes corresponding user queries. This "answer-first" approach led to ToolGrad-500, a dataset generated with more complex tool use, lower cost, and almost 100% pass rate. Experiments show that ToolGrad models outperform those trained on expensive baseline datasets and proprietary LLMs. The ToolGrad source code, dataset, and models are available at https://github.com/zhongyi-zhou/toolgrad.
