Motion-guided Contrastive Regularization For Latent World Models

AI 速览:针对JEPA式世界模型中的静态坍缩问题,提出用光流相似度构造软对比目标的运动引导对比正则化,以提升控制相关表征。

JEPA-style world models learn action-conditioned latent dynamics without reconstructing observations, but distributional regularization alone does not ensure that their representations preserve information needed for control. We identify static collapse, a failure mode in which the encoder preserves episode-specific static content while suppressing manipulation-relevant state changes. Because static content is temporally predictable yet diverse across episodes, this failure can persist despite regularizers such as SIGReg. A controlled study on OGBench-Cube shows that introducing randomized backgrounds substantially degrades planning performance while leaving the underlying manipulation task unchanged. To address this problem, we propose motion-guided contrastive regularization. Our approach compares predicted latent transitions with transitions to candidate observations from the same episode, reducing the usefulness of static background identity for distinguishing action outcomes. Optical-flow similarities provide soft contrastive targets, allowing candidates with similar motion to receive similar supervision. Combined with latent prediction and SIGReg, our objective encourages representations to preserve within-episode state distinctions and similarities between related transitions. Our method improves planning success over LeWorldModel (LeWM) from 52% to 78% on OGBench-Cube with randomized backgrounds and from 14% to 54% on LIBERO-Object, while maintaining comparable performance on four other visual-control benchmarks.

GSCV++:基于标准视频编解码器的轻量级3D高斯泼溅序列压缩

GSCV++: Lightweight 3D Gaussian Splatting Sequence Compression via Standard Video Codecs

Qi Yang, Yingzhan Xu, Kai Zhang, Li Zhang

AI 速览:提出一种轻量级3D高斯泼溅序列压缩流程,通过改进预处理、3D到2D映射与视频编码配置,借助标准视频编解码器实现压缩。

This paper presents GSCV++, a lightweight pipeline for 3D {G}aussian {S}platting (GS) sequences {C}ompression with standard {V}ideo codecs. To meet the requirements of low-complexity and hardware compatibility from the industry, GSCV++ jointly improves preprocessing, 3D-to-2D mapping, and practical video compression configuration of GS compression. First, for preprocessing, energy-adaptive inter-frame spherical harmonic (SH) alternative current (AC) dimensionality reduction (EA-SHDR) is proposed to produces a compact and stable temporal SH AC feature space. It can reduce the data volume of following mapping and practical compression, as well as less complexity while eliminating redundant information. Second, for 3D-to-2D mapping, prior-based Inter-MiniPLAS (P-MiniPLAS) is designed to generate smooth 2D feature maps through prior-based weighting factor inference and small scale remapping. Compared with vanilla Parallel Linear Assignment Sorting (PLAS) and Morton scan, P-MiniPLAS ensures the generated 2D maps are more suitable for the video codec while maintaining a low level of computational complexity. Third, for practical compression, content-aware generalized compression (CA-GC) is developed to use a non-uniform bit-depth split for coordinate map generation, and a coding unit size selection is introduced for efficient compression complexity control, which fully exploits the performance of video codecs without involving normative changes. Experiments demonstrate that GSCV++ reports over 20\% in intra- and 60\% in inter-prediction rate-distortion gains compared with state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods. GSCV++ also achieves faster 2D map generation, encoding, and decoding than other SOTA methods using the same type of video codecs. Ablation studies verify the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed modules and provide insights for subsequent research.

AEGIS: Preserving Privacy of 3D Facial Avatars with Adversarial Perturbations

Dawid Wolkiewicz, Anastasiya Pechko, Przemysław Spurek, Piotr Syga

The growing adoption of photorealistic 3D facial avatars, particularly those utilizing efficient 3D Gaussian Splatting representations, introduces new risks of online identity theft, especially in systems that rely on biometric authentication. While effective adversarial masking methods have been developed for 2D images, a significant gap remains in achieving robust, viewpoint-consistent identity protection for dynamic 3D avatars. To address this, we present AEGIS, the first privacy-preserving identity masking framework for 3D Gaussian avatars, concealing identity from automated face recognition while preserving the avatar's perceptual realism and animation usability. AEGIS applies adversarial perturbations to the base (DC) color coefficients of the Gaussian primitives, guided by an ensemble of pre-trained face verification networks, embedding the protection directly in the 3D representation so that it applies across viewpoints and animations, without retraining or modifying the avatar's geometry. Evaluated against black-box recognizers, AEGIS reduces face retrieval and verification accuracy to near-zero while maintaining high perceptual fidelity. It also preserves key facial attributes such as age, gender, and emotion, demonstrating strong privacy protection with minimal visual distortion. We further introduce a viewpoint-robust leakage metric that quantifies residual identity leakage across an avatar's rendered viewpoints, which single-view evaluation cannot capture.

SpikePose: Lightweight Video Human Pose Estimation

Yunhao Huang, Kaushik Bhargav Sivangi, Tianyi Yu, Fani Deligianni

Efficient video human pose estimation must balance localisation accuracy, motion quality, and energy cost. We present SpikePose, a lightweight video pose estimator that pairs a frame-reset, single-step spiking encoder with motion-aligned heatmap memory (MAM). The encoder supplies per-frame spatial evidence, while MAM estimates joint displacement, aligns historical heatmaps, and adaptively fuses them with current predictions. By confining temporal reasoning to a compact, lightweight module outside the spiking backbone, SpikePose helps bridge the gap between spiking and classical Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) on large-scale, non-event-driven video tasks. We evaluate spatial accuracy, motion errors, and estimated arithmetic energy on MPII and a fixed NTU60 Cross-Subject subset. Against the architecture-matched ANN with MAM, SpikePose cuts estimated arithmetic energy by 91.4% at a cost of just 1.12 points in head-bone-normalised PCK at 0.5 threshold (PCK_HB(0.5)). Within SpikePose, adding MAM reduces velocity and acceleration errors by 28.13% and 31.46% while slightly improving localisation, at a cost of only 0.003M parameters and 0.0023 analytical GFLOPs per frame. Code will be released on GitHub upon acceptance.

TokenRepel: Generating Diverse Image Sets Without Compromising Quality

Qingtao Yu, Zhen Wang, Ning Lai, Boyang Hu, Hongdong Li, Dylan Campbell

We present an inference-time approach that enhances the visual diversity of image sets generated by text-to-image models, without compromising the average image quality. Our method leverages the intrinsic geometry of hidden representations in pretrained models to diversify images generated from the same prompt. First, we introduce a token repulsion mechanism that increases the angle between feature tokens across samples. It takes a negative Riemannian gradient step on a von Mises-Fisher mixture distribution of tokens on the unit hypersphere. Second, to preserve the quality of each output image, we propose a token density preservation mechanism that projects the repulsion-induced prediction change onto a half-space aligned with the model's score direction. This encourages the updates to remain within the high-density regions learned by the generative model. We further extend this mechanism to the output of each intermediate layer, enabling finer-grained iterative guidance. We evaluate our method on three types of pretrained text-to-image models. Experiments show substantial gains in visual diversity under identical prompts, while maintaining a comparable level of image fidelity.

TOP: Transmission-Oriented Remote Sensing Pansharpening

Zi-Han Cao, Jing-Ze Liang, Shao-Jie Wu, Jin-Cheng Di, Liang-Jian Deng, Gemine Vivone

Pansharpening has been extensively studied as a fundamental image fusion task in remote sensing. However, most existing methods focus on improving fusion quality under the implicit assumption that high-resolution observations have already been fully downlinked to the ground. As a result, existing models are highly vulnerable to perturbations introduced by lossy compression used for downlink transmission. To address this limitation, we present, to the best of our knowledge, the first transmission oriented pansharpening (TOP) framework, which unifies compact latent coding, onboard pansharpening, and efficient downlink transmission within a single satellite-toground pipeline. TOP encodes remote-sensing observations into a compact binary latent space, where a lightweight onboard fusion module can efficiently predict the fused binary latent code. Since only the compact fused code is downlinked, the transmission payload is substantially reduced. Overall, TOP enables low-payload downlink and lightweight onboard processing while maintaining high fusion quality under severe bandwidth constraints. Experiments across multispectral and hyperspectral settings show that TOP consistently achieves superior fusion quality at higher compression ratios than representative pansharpening methods paired with standard lossy codecs. For example, on GaoFen-2, TOP attains a fusion PSNR of 31.4 dB at a downlink compression ratio of 50x. This design also points toward transmissionoriented processing for other remote-sensing tasks. The code will be made available at https://github.com/JingZe-Liang/TOP.git.

αDepth: Learning Scene-Level Soft Boundary Decomposition for Stereo Conversion

Xiang Zhang, Yang Zhang, Lukas Mehl, Karlis Martins Briedis, Markus Gross, Christopher Schroers

Accurately modeling soft boundaries, e.g., hair and defocus blur, is a fundamental challenge in stereo conversion due to the ambiguous blending of foreground and background. Existing depth models primarily predict single-layer depth, leading to ambiguity in depth correspondence at soft boundaries. While matting techniques can capture opacity for layered modeling, they often struggle in complex scenes with multiple targets and usually require user intervention. This paper introduces αDepth, a layered representation that decomposes soft boundaries for high-fidelity stereo conversion. Specifically, we first resolve mixed color and depth ambiguity by estimating layered color and depth values at soft boundaries. Considering complex multi-target scenes, we design a Circular Alpha Representation (CAR) that shifts the paradigm from global target extraction to local boundary decomposition. Unlike prior matting methods restricted to a single foreground/background, CAR enables efficient scene-level inference without manual guidance. Extensive evaluations demonstrate that αDepth achieves state-of-the-art performance in stereo conversion, eliminating background bleeding and structural distortions at soft boundaries.

MMUSV-Sim: A Maritime Simulation Platform for Multi-USV Cooperative Perception

Ziao Li, Jianxiong Ye, Biao Tang, Leping Zhang, Kun Zuo, Siyu Huang, Mengtang Li, Deyu Meng 等 9 位作者

Perception from a single unmanned surface vehicle (USV) is limited by sensing range, field of view, and occlusions caused by islands, port infrastructure, and nearby vessels. Multi-USV cooperative perception can alleviate these limitations by integrating complementary observations from distributed viewpoints. However, progress is constrained by the high cost of coordinated sea trials, the scarcity of multi-USV datasets, and the lack of integrated maritime simulation and evaluation tools. We present MMUSV-Sim, a perception-oriented maritime simulation and data-generation platform built on Unreal Engine 5 and Project AirSim. It supports configurable maritime scenarios, synchronized multimodal acquisition across multiple USVs, and consistent 3D annotations in a shared world frame. Using MMUSV-Sim, we construct MarU2U-200m, a synchronized multi-USV RGB--LiDAR dataset with 341 sequences and 14,385 scene frames. We establish a cooperative bird's-eye-view (BEV) vessel detection benchmark with LiDAR and RGB--LiDAR inputs. Experimental results show that Early Fusion improves LiDAR detection AP@0.5 from 64.26 to 81.46 compared with the single-USV baseline. RGB features further improve intermediate fusion, increasing AP@0.5 by up to 4.55 percentage points. LiDAR and RGB transfer experiments also show the value of the generated data as a pretraining source for real maritime detection. The project are available at https://github.com/lizaowo/MMUSV-Sim

From Adults to Children: Benchmarking Foundation Models for Chest X-Ray Classification under Domain Shift

Sara Inácio, Hugo Proença, João C. Neves

Foundation models have shown significant potential across diverse fields and have been applied to medical imaging, but their robustness across patient populations remains unclear. In this work, we investigate foundation models' ability to generalize from adult to pediatric chest X-ray classification. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first benchmark to compare multiple foundation models under a common adult-to-pediatric evaluation setting while also analyzing the effect of adaptation depth. We harmonize VinDr-CXR and PediCXR into a five-label classification task and evaluate six foundation models and two CNN baselines. All models are adapted using adult data only and tested in both the in-domain and pediatric domains using linear probing, partial fine-tuning, and full fine-tuning. The benchmark reveals a clear and consistent trend: all models suffer a substantial performance degradation when transferred from adult to pediatric data, with drops exceeding 10 percentage points. While Macro-AUROC values reach approximately 92% on the adult test set, performance decreases to around 78% on the pediatric domain. Another important finding is that increasing the depth of adaptation improves pediatric performance on average, although the effect varies across models. Moreover, strong in-domain performance does not necessarily indicate greater robustness to domain shift.

Annotator-Free Object Detection via Foundation Model Collaboration

Yasiru Ranasinghe, Vishal M. Patel

Object detection research remains constrained by high annotation costs and the closed-set assumptions of supervised models, limiting scalability to novel categories. We present a target-dataset annotation-free object detection framework that eliminates the need for human labeling on the target dataset by leveraging the complementary strengths of pretrained foundation models, including segmentation and vision-language systems, combined with a self-refining training loop. To further reduce reliance on expensive LVLM queries, we introduce a landmark-based clustering mechanism that amortizes labeling across image clusters, improving label consistency while lowering computational cost. Our method autonomously generates segmentation proposals, assigns semantic labels through multimodal reasoning, and iteratively improves both localization and classification using a lightweight open-set detector. This modular pipeline enables adaptation to completely unseen object classes and domains without any human-provided target-dataset annotations, while maintaining compatibility with existing detection architectures. Evaluations on COCO, LVIS, ODinW-35, and Roboflow-100 demonstrate substantial performance gains over state-of-the-art open-vocabulary and long-tail detection methods, achieving 60.8 AP on COCO and 47.4 AP on LVIS under zero-shot settings. Beyond strong benchmark results, our approach provides a scalable foundation for real-world detection systems in unknown environments, where annotation is infeasible.

Disentangle to create: Architecture-level disentangled diffusion model for few-shot Chinese font generation

Jie Li, Suorong Yang, Jian Zhao, Furao Shen

Few-shot Chinese font generation aims to synthesize new characters in a target style using only a handful of reference images. Achieving accurate content rendering and faithful style transfer requires effective disentanglement between content and style. However, most existing approaches achieve only feature-level disentanglement and allow the generator to re-entangle these features, leading to content distortion and degraded style fidelity. To address this, we propose the Architecture-Level Disentangled Diffusion Model (ALD-Font) with an asymmetric design. The U-Net backbone takes SimSun-style glyphs as content templates, concatenated with noisy latents to construct a spatial canvas. Style features extracted from target-style images are injected as modulation signals to guide generation. Based on theoretical validation of disentanglement effectiveness, we adopt a parameter-efficient fine-tuning (PEFT) strategy that updates only the style-related modules. This allows the model to better adapt to new styles while avoiding overfitting to the reference images' content under the few-shot setting. Additionally, we train a Background Noise Removal (BNR) module in the pixel space to remove background noise in complex stroke regions. We further introduce the Grey and OCR metrics to evaluate the content quality of generated characters. Experimental results show that ALD-Font achieves significantly higher style fidelity while maintaining comparable content accuracy to existing state-of-the-art methods. The implementation is available at https://github.com/JayLee1002/ALD-Font.

FLINT: Coupling Proximal Initialization and Bounded Stochasticity for Flow-Matching Inverse Problems

Junseo Bang, Daewon Choi, Dong Ju Mun, Se Young Chun

Flow matching models have emerged as a dominant paradigm for generative posterior sampling in imaging inverse problems. Existing solvers follow two distinct lines of work: trajectory-space methods, which refine sampling dynamics from random initial noise, and source-space methods, which optimize the initial noise itself. While most prior work treats these as independent design choices, we show that they are inherently coupled. We derive a unified stability bound that links initialization proximity and cumulative sampling stochasticity through a multiplicative envelope, complemented by two empirical observations. First, we identify a sufficiency regime in which a moderately optimized proximal source initialization is enough to attain the performance plateau, rendering exhaustive source-space optimization unnecessary. Second, this initial advantage is fragile: it is eroded by excessive stochasticity accumulation during guided sampling, necessitating a mechanism that bounds the cumulative noise injection. These findings motivate FLINT, a two-stage framework that operationalizes this coupling. FLINT establishes a high-fidelity starting point via a manifold-constrained proximal objective in only a few iterations, then performs guided sampling under a bounded stochasticity schedule that helps prevent erasure of the initialization advantage. Across diverse inverse problems, FLINT delivers state of the art perceptual quality and competitive distortion metrics while maintaining superior computational efficiency.

High-fidelity training-free photovoltaic module mapping from multi-view UAV imagery

WenHao Duan, Qi Chen, Penglei Zhang, Ruizhe Deng, Zhiling Guo, Haoran Zhang, Yuntian Chen

High-fidelity photovoltaic (PV) module mapping requires complete instance recovery and accurate delineation. Vision foundation models offer zero-shot segmentation, but converting incomplete and inconsistent predictions across views into a complete, geometrically accurate map of individual modules remains challenging. We propose the Multi-View PV Module Mapper (MV-PVMapper), a training-free framework coupling vision foundation models with unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) photogrammetry. First, Segment Anything Model 3 (SAM 3) generates candidates from original images using text prompts. Their contours are then transferred into object space through per-module slope correction to limit distortion from surface-model noise, and verified against representative module dimensions to guide cross-view instance selection. Finally, accepted instances return to all covering images as box prompts for SAM~3, supplementing text prompts with spatial cues for iterative segmentation, verification and fusion. On five-direction surveys of three operational rooftop PV plants at approximately 1 cm nadir ground sampling distance, two feedback iterations recover 7,710 of 7,711 reference modules with no false positives at an intersection-over-union (IoU) matching threshold of 0.5. Macro-averaged area precision and recall reach 99.00 % and 98.52 %, respectively. Averaged across sites, the aggregated Jaccard index reaches 97.55 %, compared with 60.73 % and 41.24 % for orthomosaic segmentation and multi-view pixel-voting baselines, respectively; average precision at the stricter IoU threshold of 0.95 reaches 95.67 %. Ablation studies show that module-size constraints are critical for instance separation, while slope correction and feedback to all covering views improve boundary accuracy. These results are achieved without task-specific image annotation or segmentation-model weight updates.

TRUST-Stereo: Teacher-Assisted Robust Uncertainty-Guided Search and Transfer for Fast Stereo Matching

Pouya Sohrabipour, Yihong Feng, Chaitanya Kumar Reddy Pallerla, Tuan Dang, Ngan Le, Dongyi Wang

Coarse-to-fine stereo matching enables efficient disparity estimation but remains sensitive to errors in propagated disparity, which may place ground-truth correspondences outside subsequent local search ranges. We propose TRUST-Stereo (Teacher-Assisted Robust Uncertainty-Guided Search and Transfer for Fast Stereo Matching), which addresses this limitation through an Uncertainty-Guided Residual Search Module (UGRSM). UGRSM estimates the reliability of propagated disparity and predicts residual offsets to adaptively relocate local cost-volume centers. Additionally, we introduce a two-stage Senior-Junior Teacher Assistant knowledge distillation strategy to transfer rich monocular representations from a large foundation model to a lightweight backbone to achieve fast stereo matching performance. Experiments on KITTI 2012, KITTI 2015, ETH3D, and Middlebury demonstrate strong zero-shot generalization. Using only 1.4M synthetic stereo pairs, TRUST-Stereo achieves state-of-the-art results on several benchmark metrics, outperforming competing efficient methods trained with substantially larger datasets, including real-world pseudo-labeled samples. Specifically, it achieves a KITTI 2015 EPE of 0.93, ETH3D Bad 1.0 of 2.13% and Middlebury Bad 2.0 of 6.79% while maintaining inference at approximately 50 ms per stereo pair.

AI 速览:提出首个无需训练、以文本引导编辑眼科手术视频的框架,通过二阶ODE反演与注意力Value张量注入,在保持眼部解剖结构的同时实现器械替换与手术阶段变化。

High-fidelity surgical video generation holds great promise for medical training and AI development, yet precise, controllable editing of such videos remains a formidable challenge. Modifying surgical attributes such as instrument, tissue interactions or procedural phases is particularly difficult due to the strict anatomical and temporal constraints of ophthalmic procedures. We introduce OphEdit, the first training-free framework for text-guided editing of ophthalmic surgical videos. Our approach uses a deterministic second-order ODE inversion pipeline to capture attention Value tensors from the source video and selectively injects them into the conditional branch of classifier-free guidance during denoising, preserving the intricate anatomical geometry of the eye while mapping text-driven semantic modifications onto the video. Clinical evaluation by an ophthalmologist shows that OphEdit handles complex transformations, such as instrument swaps and procedural variations, with superior structural fidelity and temporal consistency compared to adapted general-domain video editors, offering a scalable route to diverse surgical training data. G$^2$TR: Generation-Guided Visual Token Reduction for Separate-Encoder Unified Multimodal Models

Junxian Li, Kai Liu, Zizhong Ding, Zhixin Wang, Zhikai Chen, Renjing Pei, Yulun Zhang

The development of separate-encoder Unified multimodal models (UMMs) comes with a rapidly growing inference cost due to dense visual token processing. In this paper, we focus on understanding-side visual token reduction for improving the efficiency of separate-encoder UMMs. While this topic has been widely studied for MLLMs, existing methods typically rely on attention scores, text-image similarity and so on, implicitly assuming that the final objective is discriminative reasoning. This assumption does not hold for UMMs, where understanding-side visual tokens must also preserve the model's capabilities for editing images. We propose G$^2$TR, a generation-guided visual token reduction framework for separate-encoder UMMs. Our key insight is that the generation branch provides a task-agnostic signal for identifying understanding-side visual tokens that are not only semantically relevant but also important for latent-space image reconstruction and generation. G$^2$TR estimates token importance from consistency with VAE latent, performs balanced token selection, and merges redundant tokens into retained representatives to reduce information loss. The method is training-free, plug-and-play, and applied only after the understanding encoding stage, making it compatible with existing UMM inference pipelines. Experiments on image understanding and editing benchmarks show that G$^2$TR substantially reduces visual tokens and prefill computation by 1.94x while maintaining both reasoning accuracy and editing quality, outperforming baselines on almost all benchmarks. Cracks in the Foundation: A Civil Infrastructure Dataset to Challenge Vision Foundation Models

Nicola Farronato, Niccolo Avogaro, Thomas Frick, Mattia Rigotti, Rizwan Ullah Khan, Michele Magno, Konrad Schindler, Cristiano Malossi 等 9 位作者

Automated structural health monitoring is essential to prevent catastrophic infrastructure failures. Precise, pixel-level defect segmentation is needed to accurately assess structural integrity, but progress in defect segmentation for civil infrastructures has been held back by an extreme scarcity of data, which requires costly expert annotation. The need for data is accentuated by algorithmic hurdles intrinsic to the problem, including center-bias and the need to rely more on shape when inspecting nearly textureless building materials. To remove the bottleneck, we introduce Cracks in the Foundation (CiF), the largest and most detailed civil infrastructure (instance) segmentation dataset to date, comprising $\approx$150,000 high-resolution tiles meticulously curated over five years in collaboration with civil engineering experts. With the help of this unprecedented data source, we expose a blind spot of current visual AI: despite the advent of promptable Foundation Models (FMs) and Vision Language Models (VLMs), and despite the impressive abilities of today's specialised segmentation models, it turns out that dense image understanding in the built environment is nowhere near solved. Our evaluations indicate that even the most recent zero-shot FMs face significant challenges when deployed on real-world infrastructure and even the performance of specialised models with domain-specific supervision plateaus at $\approx$25\% mAP. CiF establishes inspection of civil infrastructure, an elementary and seemingly easy perceptual task, as an open challenge that reveals fundamental weaknesses of present-day models trained predominantly on internet images, literally and figuratively highlighting cracks in the current foundation model paradigm. Gaze2HOI: Gaze-Aware Intention Disambiguation for Egocentric Hand-Object Interaction Forecasting

Chuanyang Ma, Chenye Wang, Yixuan Wang, Huiling Zhou, Man Zhang, Xingqun Qi, Muyi Sun, Caifeng Shan 等 9 位作者

Anticipating how users will interact with their surroundings is essential for proactive systems that provide timely assistance in extended reality and embodied applications. Prior work typically forecasts hand-object interactions directly from historical observations, leaving intention and contact geometry implicit. However, similar observation histories can precede semantically or geometrically distinct futures. Inspired by behavioral evidence that gaze can provide early cues for underlying intention, we propose Gaze2HOI, a gaze-aware framework that formulates hand-object interaction forecasting as a hierarchical problem comprising intention inference, contact grounding, and coupled hand-object motion generation. Specifically, Gaze2HOI first weights gaze cues by fixation strength and recency, and uses them to modulate the visual representations of a vision-language model (VLM) through Temporal Gaze Saliency Modulation (TGSM), thereby reducing semantic ambiguity in intention inference. Subsequently, an Anticipatory Contact Grounding (ACG) module maps these structured intentions into explicit contact, support, and placement fields, effectively mitigating geometric ambiguity. Driven by these explicit conditions, a diffusion-based model jointly generates the six-degree-of-freedom (6-DoF) object trajectories and future articulated motion of both hands. To evaluate Gaze2HOI, we further introduce EgoAIM, a phase-aware benchmark that organizes egocentric hand-object interactions into four phases defined by evolving hand-object relations and provides fine-grained intention annotations. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Gaze2HOI achieves state-of-the-art performance in both intention inference and motion forecasting, even approaching oracle-level end-to-end performance in specific interaction phases. CleanVideo: Adaptive Concept Erasure for Text-to-Video Diffusion Models

Junchi Liao, Hongji Li, Wenrui Zhou, Lijie Hu

Concept erasure aims to selectively eliminate undesired visual semantics from pre-trained generative models without compromising their general utility. Extending concept erasure from images to video is nontrivial. Target concepts emerge gradually and vary across frames and denoising steps. As a result, fixed interventions may miss the target or introduce blurring, jitter, and content distortion. We propose CleanVideo, a selective erasure framework that performs low-dimensional subspace intervention controlled by a tri-modal gating mechanism. By jointly processing spatiotemporal visual features, timestep signals, and textual semantics, CleanVideo determines where, when, and whether to intervene, steering erased content toward natural surrogate concepts when such surrogates can be clearly defined while preserving non-target content. Experiments on three video diffusion models show that CleanVideo effectively erases target concepts while maintaining visual fidelity and temporal coherence, outperforming existing baselines under frame-level and video-level evaluations and under concept-recovery attacks when the protected pipeline remains intact.

Radial distortion homography estimation from affine-covariant or orientation-covariant features

Marcus Valtonen Örnhag, Stefan Adalbjörnsson

We present minimal solvers for joint homography and radial distortion estimation using affine- or orientation-covariant features. The core contribution is a set of novel constraints that exploit local feature geometry inherent to affine descriptors, enabling solvers that require fewer correspondences than point-based methods. Using modern robust estimation frameworks, we demonstrate that the proposed solvers are advantageous to the current state-of-the-art with a significant speed-up in the presence of outliers while maintaining comparable or superior estimation accuracy. The proposed solvers are tested on both synthetic and real images containing challenging fisheye distortions.

Accurate oriented detection requires boxes to follow object boundaries, yet small errors in the coupled center, size, and angle estimates can displace long boundaries even when an object is correctly classified. We propose NIF, a plug-in refinement branch that represents box geometry with normal-intersection fields. Given a coarse oriented box, it samples local features at 20 boundary anchors and predicts signed distances along their outward normals. These observations have an exact affine representation in five rectangle parameters; a differentiable projection uses error-aware reliability weights to recover a geometrically consistent box. Tangential pooling preserves the normal-position profile, while the shared projection adds 0.132M parameters. On DOTA-v1.0, NIF obtains 77.98%, 79.03%, and 79.32% mAP with Oriented R-CNN, Strip R-CNN, and LSKNet-S, respectively; LSKNet-S gives the strongest single-scale result among the compared methods. NIF also reaches 68.19% mAP on DIOR-R and improves matched FAIR1M-v1.0 and DIOR-R baselines by 0.30% and 0.71%, respectively. On HRSC2016, it raises mean IoU from 0.867 to 0.888 while reducing field error by 24.5%. Finally, with four different detector frameworks frozen, NIF improves relative AP75 by 1.55-4.16% and COCO-style mAP by 0.37-3.76%, without detector retraining. Upon acceptance of this paper, we will publicly release the code at https://github.com/zsk466991125-collab/Normal-Intersection-Fields.

Running a 20B Video Diffusion Transformer on Consumer Hardware: A Deployment and Measurement Report for MiniMax H3 on Apple Silicon

Zhenzhou, Shi, Yizhe, Shi

We report the end-to-end deployment and measurement of MiniMax H3, a 20.38-billion-parameter video diffusion transformer (DiT) - the count measured from the safetensors headers of the Q8 checkpoint as deployed locally (Section 3.2) - running entirely on consumer Apple Silicon hardware: an Apple Mac mini with M5 Pro chip and 64 GiB of unified memory. Using the official bf16-to-Q8 (8-bit, group size 64) quantization path executed locally on the machine, we produced a working text-to-video pipeline with no cloud dependency. We document the full deployment procedure, including two non-trivial blockers and their fixes, and report measured figures for build time, peak memory, and per-clip render latency across four resolution tiers (Draft 384x640 through Native 768x1344). A 15.08-second 576x1024 clip rendered in 4838.49 seconds with a measured MLX peak of 27.467 GiB. We further operated the system as an unattended production pipeline, completing 17 clips in 26.49 hours with zero render failures. A blind human review of the 17 production clips (generation prompts withheld) averaged 3.12, 3.18, and 2.94 out of 5 for structural integrity, temporal consistency, and visible artifacts. All figures in this report are our own measurements except where explicitly labeled as third-party data. This is a systems/empirical report; we make no claim of model innovation.

Multi-Path Mamba Diffusion for 3D Point Cloud Semantic Scene Completion

Li Liang, Naveed Akhtar, Jordan Vice, Anwaar Ulhaq, Ajmal Saeed Mian

3D semantic scene completion plays a critical role in enabling various downstream tasks within autonomous systems by estimating both missing geometric structures and semantic information in scene data. In this work, we introduce a unique neural framework that integrates state space modeling with diffusion-based generative approaches to enhance 3D point cloud semantic scene completion. We propose \textit{MPath Mamba} diffusion network, leveraging a skip-triple Mamba structure, dimensional decomposition residuals, and multi-directional dilations within multi-path data to efficiently process long-sequence data for feature extraction. The proposed method operates in the conditioned latent space of a variational autoencoder, enhanced by a state-space mechanism to improve 3D point cloud representation and reconstruction. Extensive experiments conducted on the SemanticKITTI benchmark demonstrate that our approach achieves highly competitive performance for 3D point cloud semantic scene completion.

Compact Attention: Exploiting Structured Spatio-Temporal Sparsity for Fast Video Generation

Qirui Li, Guangcong Zheng, Qi Zhao, Jie Li, Bin Dong, Yiwu Yao, Xuewei Li, Zequn Qin 等 9 位作者

The quadratic computational complexity of self-attention mechanisms imposes a critical constraint on transformer-based video generation, particularly for synthesizing ultra-long and high-definition sequences. While most sparse attention techniques employ fixed or heuristic patterns, they often struggle to accommodate the heterogeneous and layer-specific redundancies inherent in video diffusion transformers (VDiTs). We find that different attention heads consistently concentrate most of their attention mass in different coarse query-key regions, a behavior we call functional specialization. Although individual attention values vary with the generated content, these regions remain similar across prompts and random seeds. Leveraging these insights, we introduce Compact Attention, a hardware-aware sparse attention framework for efficient long-video synthesis. We quantify this stability and use it to construct searchable, reusable, head-specific masks. Based on the observation, we propose a deformable dual-window sparse pattern mechanism that flexibly approximates local and axial attention regions within one tile-aligned mask family. To avoid manually choosing a mask for each head, we develop a recall-driven offline auto-search algorithm that identifies high-quality sparse masks while leveraging temporal stability for mask reuse. Extensive evaluations on Wan2.1 (14B) and Hunyuan-Video demonstrate that Compact Attention achieves 2.25x/3.03x attention speedups over FlashAttention-2 and 1.20x/1.74x over FlashAttention-3, respectively, while maintaining visual quality and temporal consistency comparable to full-attention baselines. A-TPT: Angular Diversity Calibration Properties for Test-Time Prompt Tuning of Vision-Language Models

Shihab Aaqil Ahamed, Udaya S. K. P. Miriya Thanthrige, Ranga Rodrigo, Muhammad Haris Khan

Test-time prompt tuning (TPT) has emerged as a promising technique for adapting large vision-language models (VLMs) to unseen tasks without relying on labeled data. However, the lack of dispersion between textual features can hurt calibration performance, which raises concerns about VLMs' reliability, trustworthiness, and safety. Current TPT approaches primarily focus on improving prompt calibration by either maximizing average textual feature dispersion or enforcing orthogonality constraints to encourage angular separation. However, these methods may not always have optimal angular separation between class-wise textual features, which implies overlooking the critical role of angular diversity. To address this, we propose A-TPT, a novel TPT framework that introduces angular diversity to encourage uniformity in the distribution of normalized textual features induced by corresponding learnable prompts. This uniformity is achieved by maximizing the minimum pairwise angular distance between features on the unit hypersphere. We show that our approach consistently surpasses state-of-the-art TPT methods in reducing the aggregate average calibration error while maintaining comparable accuracy through extensive experiments with various backbones on different datasets. Notably, our approach exhibits superior zero-shot calibration performance on natural distribution shifts and generalizes well to medical datasets. We provide extensive analyses, including theoretical aspects, to establish the grounding of A-TPT. These results highlight the potency of promoting angular diversity to achieve well-dispersed textual features, significantly improving VLM calibration during test-time adaptation. Our code will be made publicly available.

SWAP-INR: Implicit Neural Representation with Switchable Attention Paths for Time-varying Multivariate Scientific Data Compression

Hyunsoo Son, Jeonghyun Noh, Chaoli Wang, Won-Ki Jeong

Visualizing multivariate scientific simulation data is essential for understanding complex physical phenomena, yet the massive scale of such data imposes a severe storage bottleneck in high-performance computing environments. Implicit neural representations (INRs) have emerged as a promising continuous alternative to traditional lossy compressors, but existing methods struggle to explicitly capture cross-variable interactions and to adapt to the diverse spectral characteristics of physical variables. To address these limitations, we propose SWAP-INR, an architecture for high-fidelity compression of multivariate, time-varying simulation data. SWAP-INR introduces two key components: (1) The switchable attention path (SWAP) module explicitly models cross-variable interactions through a cross-variable attention layer, then routes each variable to an attention or non-attention path by a deterministic, loss-driven criterion, and prunes the inactive layers for structural compression. (2) The adaptability amplification SIREN (A2-SIREN) replaces rigid frequency scaling with channel-wise learnable modulation, adapting to heterogeneous physical features with negligible overhead. Combined with post-training 16-bit quantization, SWAP-INR achieves state-of-the-art performance on small modular reactor (SMR) datasets and remains competitive on public physics simulation datasets, while maintaining a constrained memory footprint. Our code is https://github.com/hvcl/SWAP-INR.

GVT3D: Gesture-Vision-Text Token Enrichment for 3D Embodied Reference Understanding

Vimarsh Shah, Dulanga Weerakoon, Ajinkya Deshpande, Saksham Agarwal, Nilesh Bhatia, Neel Kiran Naik, Parth Shah, Sravan Danda 等 12 位作者

Natural human-robot interaction requires robots to interpret language and gestures within a 3D environment to support tasks such as pick-and-place and object retrieval. 3D Embodied Reference Understanding (3D-ERU) supports this by identifying the 3D location of a target object from a scene (point-cloud) containing a human pointing gesture and an accompanying language description. However, current 3D-ERU models lack alignment of cross-modal representations and incur high processing costs that increase with the point-cloud's size. To address this, we propose GVT3D, which employs an Embodied Fusion module that jointly models language, gesture, and vision inputs within a shared embedding space, promoting cross-modal alignment. We additionally introduce a foveation approach that selectively processes the point cloud within a coarse region around the estimated pointing direction to reduce computations. GVT3D achieves ~8% higher accuracy and foveation enables 2.95x faster execution while maintaining comparable accuracy, relative to prior 3D-ERU models.

Mitigating Spatial Blindness in Multiple Instance Learning for Whole-Slide Image Analysis

Xiangyu Li, Jincheng Li, Xing Xie, Bin Guan, Shaohua Kevin Zhou, Rui Yan, Ran Su

Whole-slide multiple instance learning can predict diagnostic and prognostic labels from tissue composition while making limited use of spatial organization. Providing coordinates or a graph does not establish that a trained predictor uses tissue neighborhoods. We examine this gap as spatial blindness and hypothesize that early composition learning can weaken supervision of a spatial pathway. We introduce ResTopoMIL, which freezes a learned composition predictor before training a graph residual with a coordinate-reassignment separation loss. Permutation and information analyses distinguish architectural symmetry, available spatial information and the proposed optimization mechanism. On a controlled spatial task, staged training achieved an AUC of 0.987, compared with 0.684 for the same jointly trained architecture. Performance remained high on a composition-only task. Across four WSI classification and five survival benchmarks, ResTopoMIL improved mean primary performance on eight tasks; four improvements remained significant after Holm-adjusted patient-cluster tests. Coordinate-free residual controls recovered some of the gains, while neighborhood destruction reduced performance close to the composition anchor. Neighborhood-preserving transformations and anatomy-stratified perturbations further characterized this dependence. These results support fixing a composition reference as a practical intervention for learning spatial corrections, while retaining additional appearance capacity as a contributing explanation.

P-SER: Physical Consistency-Constrained Scattering Expandable Representation for Class-Incremental HRRP Target Recognition

Fangyi Wang, Peng Zhao, Haipeng Wang

High-resolution range profiles (HRRPs) provide compact radar target representations but exhibit strong aspect sensitivity, complicating class-incremental recognition when historical data are unavailable. Changes in viewing aspect shift scattering-peak locations and amplitudes, while reflector groups may produce responses resembling ships. Existing dynamic expansion methods can also incur substantial parameter and memory overhead. To address these challenges, we propose P-SER, a Physical Consistency-Constrained Scattering Expandable Representation framework for exemplar-free class-incremental HRRP recognition. P-SER reconstructs dominant scattering points from complex-valued sum- and azimuth-difference-channel HRRPs and observation geometry. The reconstructed spatial structure, target extent, and energy distribution are used to derive class-level scattering prototypes and sample-level saliency priors, providing physically grounded constraints for feature learning and old-class knowledge retention. A primitive scatterer dictionary further characterizes local strong-scattering mechanisms and calibrates uncertain ship--reflector predictions at inference. Meanwhile, lightweight residual adapters are incrementally introduced into a shared HRRP backbone to learn new classes with limited model growth. Experiments on simulated and measured HRRP datasets show that P-SER delivers competitive recognition performance without retaining old-class exemplars, while maintaining physical consistency, interference robustness, knowledge retention, and model scalability.

Disentangling Dual Image References in Frequency Aware Diffusion Models for Personalized Generation

Haipeng Liu, Yang Wang, Meng Wang

Personalized image generation aims to synthesize text-driven images conditioned on reference images, while mainly casting the generation as image customization for foreground and style transfer for background. Previous arts of diffusion models suffers from the text misalignment with background for image customization and foreground for style transfer during the denoising process. Such facts, as we observed, rooted from the entanglement among hybrid frequency bands during the denoising process. In particular, the low-frequency band primarily captures color information, mid-frequency band encodes global structure, while high-frequency band corresponds to local texture. Besides, the early (high-noise) denoising stage mainly focuses on the low-and-mid frequency bands, while the late (low-noise) denoising stage progressively exhibits the high-frequency band, which, all together, overwhelm the text prompt guidance, suffering from the heavy reliance on reference image. To address such salient limitation, in this paper, we study personalized generation based on dual references - customization and color style reference - to propose a paradigm to disentangle these Dual image references within Frequency-aware Diffusion Models, dubbed Dual-FDM, to simultaneously tackle two crucial personalized image generation tasks: customization style transfer and color style transfer, by disentangling different frequency bands via mask strategy within frequency domain. We further compute the ratio of information entropy of the substituted frequency bands to adaptively modulate the denoising timesteps between the early and late stages. Extensive experiments validate the superiority of Dual-FDM over the state-of-the-art diffusion models for personalized image generation. Our code can be accessed from https://github.com/htyjers/Dual-FDM.
