Video generation has progressed from isolated clips to coherent short-form audiovisual sequences, and the bottleneck is shifting from rendering to semantic control. This report summarizes the observations and insights on multimodal understanding gained from successive generations of Kling. We argue that generation quality is the projection of multimodal understanding through the entire data--conditioning--alignment--evaluation chain, and we examine this chain module by module. Kling-MLLM, a shared multimodal foundation model that unifies image, video, audio, synchronized audio--video, and interleaved inputs, is specialized for each downstream module. Because a DiT is trained on far fewer training samples than a language model, we treat captioning as a semantic contract that maximizes description density, and extend it to reference-grounded captioning that makes reference bindings explicit. Prompt enhancement translates user intent into this caption distribution: basic PE is derived from captions of compelling videos and refined with text-level and generator-in-the-loop reinforcement learning, while agentic PE refines the story and retrieves compelling examples. We show that a reliable text encoder comes from perceptual training rather than from stronger language ability, and that candidates can be screened from text alone before end-to-end training. Reward modeling pairs a general reward model for explainable, localized critiques with a decision reward model for fast multidimensional scoring, treating perceptual bandwidth as a first-class design parameter. Finally, we review task-specific automatic evaluation, focusing on protocols that expose scoring shortcuts and help trace failures to their upstream source. We hope these lessons offer practical guidance for building the understanding stack behind controllable video generation.
3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) enables real-time novel view synthesis (NVS), but its heavy storage makes compression essential, and both training and compression introduce representation-specific distortions. Since generative compression in many methods treats geometric and color attributes via different parameters, it can induce dimension-specific distortions, motivating multi-dimensional assessment. Moreover, real-world captures generally lack an aligned ground-truth video for a synthesized, continuous camera trajectory, leaving only sparse captured views as references. To enable multi-dimensional quality assessment of 3DGS videos with scarce aligned references, we first present 3DGS-VBench+, a large-scale subjective video quality assessment (VQA) benchmark comprising 3{,}036 3DGS reconstructions, each paired with a rendered video, across 11 real-world and 22 synthetic scenes, generated by 6 representative compression algorithms at systematically designed levels and annotated with 9{,}108 MOSs covering overall, geometry, and color quality. Based on 3DGS-VBench+, we propose 3DGSV-Assessor, a reference-flexible, large multimodal framework that scores all three dimensions in one generation pass and fuses a ranking-based reference cue into the frozen regressor through a bounded gate, supporting both reduced-reference (RR) and no-reference (NR) assessment. Extensive experiments demonstrate state-of-the-art correlation with human perception on 3DGS-VBench+ and strong zero-shot generalization to other NVS benchmarks. The dataset and code will be released at https://github.com/YukeXing/3DGSV-Assessor.

High frame rate HDR video is important in applications such as autonomous driving and scientific imaging, where rapid motion and extreme illumination often occur simultaneously. Conventional frame cameras face a trade-off between temporal resolution and dynamic range, while event cameras provide complementary high-speed brightness-change measurements over a wide illumination range. These properties have motivated event-based HDR reconstruction, with existing methods broadly following event-only and hybrid event-frame paradigms. Event-only HDR reconstruction, however, suffers from brightness and color drift due to the lack of absolute intensity references. Hybrid event-frame methods alleviate this ambiguity using low-dynamic-range (LDR) frames as anchors, but most perform one-to-one HDR reconstruction at available LDR timestamps. In this work, we investigate single-reference HDR temporal expansion, reconstructing N HDR frames from one LDR reference and events instead of N aligned LDR observations. We develop HIVE-Diff, an event-conditioned video diffusion framework that decomposes the task into event-guided temporal generation and HDR content completion. Because paired real HDR-event data are scarce, we train on synthetic data and adapt the model to real event domains using LDR-event sequences as proxy supervision with teacher-student distillation. Experiments on synthetic and multiple real-world datasets demonstrate strong reconstruction quality and robust real-data adaptation.

Infant pose and shape estimation is essential for applications in childcare, developmental monitoring, and medical diagnosis. However, existing methods and datasets are largely designed for adults, and direct transfer to infants fails due to substantial differences in body proportions, articulation limits, and frequent self-occlusion. To address this gap, we introduce InfantNet, the largest real-image infant dataset to date, comprising 108,902 RGB images of infants aged 6-18 months. Each image is annotated with 2D keypoints, and a curated subset of 11,642 images additionally includes 3D pose and shape annotations with full SMIL parameters, verified through multi-view rendering and reprojection-error filtering. We use an iterative annotation pipeline to ensure high fidelity across both 2D and 3D labels. InfantNet establishes a large-scale, comprehensive benchmark for infant 2D keypoint detection and 3D pose-and-shape recovery. Baseline experiments demonstrate that state-of-the-art adult pose estimators do not generalize well to infants, whereas fine-tuning on InfantNet yields a consistent improvement. The gains are even more pronounced for 3D pose and shape estimation, where SMIL-based estimation demonstrates robust performance with accuracy comparable to results reported for SMPL-based models. By releasing the InfantNet dataset and benchmark, we provide a vital resource for advancing infant pose analysis and related healthcare applications.
4D perception models, which classify 3D point-cloud videos, are being built into robots, assistive monitoring and AR, yet before deploying one a practitioner cannot check which cue it relies on: how a body part moves, or what shape it has. 3D attribution is single-frame, video attribution is confined to RGB pixels, gradient maps need white-box access, attention is absent from state-space backbones, and point-level perturbations assume a point correspondence across frames that real depth and LiDAR data lack. We present Kinematic Causal Attribution (KCA), a black-box, interventional attribution method that queries only the model's outputs. Its freeze operator removes a region's motion while keeping its shape, and a shape-free proxy removes the shape while keeping the motion. Together they span a motion$\times$geometry cube for every tracked region, whose order-symmetric Shapley decomposition is complete and whose interaction is measured rather than assumed away. The operators rewrite per-frame point sets, so they need no correspondences, and a context-averaged estimator handles structures that span several regions. We validate KCA on the official PSTNet, P4Transformer and Mamba4D trained on MSR-Action3D. The decisive test is an audit: two binary tasks are built from real clips whose classes differ only in the motion or only in the shape of the same arm, and the motion share of the arm's importance follows the defining cue on all three backbones (0.83 vs. 0.60 on P4Transformer, 0.86 vs. 0.30 on PSTNet, 0.92 vs. 0.61 on Mamba4D), a distinction no single attribution map can make. The split costs no faithfulness: the necessity maps have the lowest deletion AUC on P4Transformer and PSTNet, tie with the best baseline on Mamba4D, and lose their correlation with the trained model's once the weights are randomised. Skeleton ground truth, re-sampling stability and cost complete the validation.

Producing long-form videos from narration requires interdependent decisions that remain coherent across shots. Existing agentic editors often use multi-stage workflows driven by general models, leaving the quality-cost trade-off of compact, task-adapted policies unclear. We address this gap with WeVisCut, a long-form script-to-video system that connects tool execution with policy learning. Its agent harness maintains shared production state so that tool feedback informs subsequent decisions and repairs. Because finished videos do not expose these decisions, our four-stage data pipeline combines editing inversion with verified replay to turn recovered editing intent into executable supervision. Applied to 3,750 finished videos, this pipeline yields over 130K training examples. We use this supervision to train a single 9B policy that coordinates production and recovers from failures within the same harness. Moreover, we introduce a 100-task benchmark and five metrics assessing editing quality and delivery reliability. Under a shared tool environment, WeVisCut substantially outperforms its base model and achieves comparable performance to Claude Opus 5 while using nearly 33x fewer generated tokens per successful output minute. It also outperforms task-matched native editors on our proposed metrics.

As global cross-lingual communication intensifies, language barriers in visually rich documents such as PDFs remain a practical bottleneck. Existing document translation pipelines face a tension between linguistic processing and layout preservation: text-oriented Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) systems often discard structural metadata, while document parsers focus on extraction and do not support faithful re-rendering after translation. We introduce BabelDOC, an Intermediate Representation (IR)-based framework for layout-preserving PDF translation. BabelDOC decouples visual layout metadata from semantic content, enabling document-level translation operations such as terminology extraction, cross-page context handling, glossary-constrained generation, and formula placeholdering. The translated content is then re-anchored to the original layout through an adaptive typesetting engine. Experiments on a curated 200-page benchmark, together with human evaluation and multimodal LLM-as-a-judge evaluation, show that BabelDOC improves layout fidelity, visual aesthetics, and terminology consistency over representative baselines, while maintaining competitive translation precision. The open-source toolkit and its interactive downstream applications have garnered over 7.8k stars on GitHub https://github.com/funstory-ai/BabelDOC. A demonstration video is available at https://youtu.be/chwrlApH7a4.

Generative audio modeling has largely been fragmented into specialized tasks, text-to-speech (TTS), text-to-music (TTM), and text-to-audio (TTA), each operating under heterogeneous control paradigms. Unifying these modalities remains a fundamental challenge due to the intrinsic dissonance between structured semantic representations (speech/music) and unstructured acoustic textures (sound effects). In this paper, we introduce UniSonate, a unified flow-matching framework capable of synthesizing speech, music, and sound effects through a standardized, reference-free natural language instruction interface. To reconcile structural disparities, we propose a novel dynamic token injection mechanism that projects unstructured environmental sounds into a structured temporal latent space, enabling precise duration control within a phoneme-driven Multimodal Diffusion Transformer (MM-DiT). Coupled with a multi-stage curriculum learning strategy, this approach effectively mitigates cross-modal optimization conflicts. Extensive experiments demonstrate that UniSonate achieves state-of-the-art performance in instruction-based TTS (WER 1.47%) and TTM (SongEval Coherence 3.18), while maintaining competitive fidelity in TTA. Crucially, we observe positive transfer, where joint training on diverse audio data significantly enhances structural coherence and prosodic expressiveness compared to single-task baselines.

The increasing use of video data in training multimodal large language models (MLLMs) raises significant concerns on privacy leakage and copyright violations, highlighting the need for detecting improperly used training videos through membership inference attacks (MIAs). Most existing video MIA methods assess model memorization of key semantic concepts within a video (e.g., the name of a well-known movie character). However, such concepts usually appear repeatedly throughout the training corpus, and memorization of them does not constitute reliable evidence that a specific video was used during training. Besides, while some methods mitigate this limitation by capturing relationships between frames, they require a model logit-accessible setting and are impractical in realistic black-box scenarios. To address these challenges, we propose a black-box MIA framework, named VideoMIA, that can provide reliable evidence of specific video data usage for training MLLMs. The key of our method is to leverage temporal dependencies across video frames to evaluate the model’s memorization of sequential dynamics within the video data, which cannot be inferred solely from general world knowledge or individual image data. The results across ten MLLMs and four benchmarks demonstrate that our method consistently achieves superior performance over all baselines in black-box evaluation settings. Code is available in https://github.com/jinruiwang258/VideoMIA.

Existing text-guided image editing methods primarily rely on end-to-end pixel-level inpainting paradigm. Despite its success in simple scenarios, this paradigm still significantly struggles with compositional editing tasks that require precise local control and complex multi-object spatial reasoning. This paradigm is severely limited by 1) the implicit coupling of planning and execution, 2) the lack of object-level control granularity, and 3) the reliance on unstructured, pixel-centric modeling. To address these limitations, we propose I2E, a novel "Decompose-then-Action” paradigm that revisits image editing as an actionable interaction process within a structured environment. I2E utilizes a Decomposer to transform unstructured images into discrete, manipulable object layers and then introduces a physics-aware Vision-Language-Action Agent to parse complex instructions into a series of atomic actions via Chain-of-Thought reasoning. Further, we also construct I2E-Bench, a benchmark designed for multi-instance spatial reasoning and high-precision editing. Experimental results on I2E-Bench and multiple public benchmarks demonstrate that I2E significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods in handling complex compositional instructions, maintaining physical plausibility, and ensuring multi-turn editing stability.

We introduce AEGIS, A holistic benchmark for Evaluating forensic analysis of AI-Generated academic ImageS. Compared to existing benchmarks, AEGIS features three key advances: (1) Domain-Specific Complexity: covering seven academic categories with 39 fine-grained subtypes, exposing intrinsic forensic difficulty, where even GPT-5.1 reaches 48.80% overall performance and expert models achieve only limited localization accuracy (IoU 30.09%); (2) Diverse Forgery Simulations: modeling four prevalent academic forgery strategies across 25 generative models, with 11 yielding average forensic accuracy below 50%, showing that forensics lag behind generative advances; and (3) Multi-Dimensional Forensic Evaluation: jointly assessing detection, reasoning, and localization, revealing complementary strengths between model families, with multimodal large language models (MLLMs) at 84.74% accuracy in textual artifact recognition and expert detectors peaking at 79.54% accuracy in binary authenticity detection. By evaluating 25 leading MLLMs, nine expert models, and one unified multimodal understanding and generation model, AEGIS serves as a diagnostic testbed exposing fundamental limitations in academic image forensics.
