User embeddings are central components of modern recommendation, personalization, and behavioral modeling systems. Though these embeddings can compactly encode rich behavioral information, they are inherently dense and opaque, limiting interpretability. To address this gap, we argue that user embeddings can be understood as sparse superpositions of interpretable behavioral modes. This structure is directly predicted by generative models of user behavior for linear embeddings and extends approximately to deep-learning representations by the superposition hypothesis. Superimposed modes can naturally be recovered by sparse dictionary learning methods, such as sparse autoencoders (SAEs), and recovered modes can be automatically named and queried in natural language. We validate mode recovery against known ground truth on synthetic data, where SAEs recover modes better than classical sparse baselines, including on transformer-encoded embeddings. We then apply the method to classical and transformer-based user embeddings from two real-world datasets. We also show how the corresponding natural-language labels enable zero-shot audience retrieval and characterization over embeddings never trained on text. The framework is post-hoc and model-agnostic, requiring no modification to the upstream embedding system.

LLM-based generative recommendation reads long, text-rich interaction histories but generates only short semantic identifiers (SIDs). This asymmetry makes supervised fine-tuning inefficient: encoding the history is expensive, yet each history usually provides supervision for only one target. We present Merge and Branch (M&B) to reduce input cost and learn more from each encoded history. Merge compresses each historical item's SID and text into a small number of learned tokens. Branch uses the compressed history to predict multiple target SIDs. To share history computation while keeping these targets independent, M&B organizes each example as a shallow, wide tree. We develop tree FlashAttention to execute this layout efficiently, processing the shared history once and propagating gradients from every branch for end-to-end training. A tree-structured key/value cache extends history sharing to constrained decoding. Experiments on public benchmarks show that M&B outperforms strong recommendation baselines while substantially improving training and decoding efficiency. Online A/B tests on a large-scale e-commerce platform suggest that M&B effectively combines item text with multi-target supervision, yielding statistically significant gains in per-user clicks, orders, and GMV.

Reliable robotic manipulation requires both semantic understanding and precise control in three-dimensional space. However, vision-language-action (VLA) foundations largely inherit visual representations from 2D vision-language pre-training, while spatial supervision is often introduced only during task-specific adaptation. Developing spatial understanding as a transferable foundation-model capability therefore calls for learning from broader robot experience. We present SLA, a Spatial-Language-Action Model that scales implicit spatial alignment to continual pre-training and maintains it during downstream post-training. Initialized from a pretrained pi05 policy, SLA jointly optimizes action prediction and alignment between intermediate visual embeddings and spatial representations from a frozen 3D perception model. We curate and unify heterogeneous robot datasets to support spatial learning across diverse embodiments, tasks, and scenes. To accommodate this diversity, we introduce feature-dependent gates that adaptively aggregate visual embeddings from multiple VLA layers for spatial supervision. The teacher further exploits partially available depth and camera calibration alongside RGB observations, enabling effective use of heterogeneous geometric annotations. Probabilistic state dropout encourages reliance on visual cues and mitigates overfitting to demonstration trajectories. All auxiliary components are used only during training, allowing direct reuse of pretrained VLA weights and preserving the original inference architecture.

Large language model agents increasingly retrieve tools from large catalogs, yet most retrievers rank each tool independently by request similarity. For multi tool tasks, this recovers the goal matching tool while omitting prerequisite tools required by the workflow. We introduce LIBRA, a framework for Library Induction by Runtime Assembly that turns a flat tool catalog into an executable tool library. An LLM proposes per tool contracts of candidate invocations, reusable outputs and state changes, and success conditions; LIBRA then tests these compositions in a sandbox and retains the relations supported at runtime. Constructed before user queries, the library requires no dependency annotations, tool use trajectories, or task specific training, and supports both one-shot and agentic retrieval. On AppWorld, BFCL, and SciToolEval, LIBRA improves one-shot Recall and NDCG over the same dense retriever by 7.9 and 3.7 percentage points on average. Within ToolReAGt, it yields corresponding gains of 4.5 and 2.9 points after ten retrieval iterations.

Reinforcement learning (RL) has become a standard post-training method for diffusion models, but most RL objectives roll out the current policy at every iteration, and with a many-step sampler these rollouts typically dominate the cost of training. Few-step models cut this cost, yet they model an average velocity over an interval, whereas existing RL objectives are built for an instantaneous velocity with a many-step sampler. We adapt RL objectives to few-step models systematically in three phases, namely a transformation, a decomposition and an adaptation. The transformation to $x$-space expresses each objective we consider through a common policy prediction, at the clean end by default and at an explicitly marked level for transition or flow-map objectives, so that objectives stated over densities, velocities or rewards become comparable. The decomposition writes the gradient of each of these objectives as the sum of a self-regression toward a reference and a reward augmentation, so that a method reduces, at the gradient level, to a choice of anchors and weights. The adaptation computes each anchor from a few-step model at the end of its transport or along its tangent, with the instantaneous velocity recovered from the network itself or from an auxiliary network. This yields few-step versions of FlowGRPO, AWM, DiffusionNFT, DiffusionOPSD and ReFL in one modular codebase. In our experiments, reward-gradient-based methods are the most effective when the reward is differentiable and its gradient is affordable; otherwise DiffusionNFT-style methods generally reach high rewards in relatively few iterations despite a sometimes higher per-iteration cost. Extra inference steps show no systematic aggregate benefit in our experiments, although selected outputs visibly improve with two to four times as many sampling steps as in training.

We investigate the optimal asymptotic rate $R_q$ of perfect $q$-hash codes, a fundamental extremal problem in combinatorics, information theory, and computer science. Let $B_q=-\log_2(1-q!/q^q)/(q-1)$ denote the classical probabilistic lower bound. We prove that $R_q=B_q$ if and only if $q=2$, establishing an explicit strict improvement for every $q\ge3$ and settling the first assertion of a conjecture of Xing and Yuan (Combinatorica 43 (2023), 347--366). More significantly, we show that, for every $η>0$, $R_q\ge B_q+\exp(-(2+η)q)$ for all sufficiently large integers $q$. This improves the previously known increments of scale $\exp(-3q+O(\ln q))$ by an exponential factor. We also establish a structural limitation of the concatenation method. For pairwise uniform inner codes of subexponential length, the resulting rate bound exceeds $B_q$ by at most $\exp(-3q+o(q))$. Thus, exponentially long inner codes are necessary to achieve the new improvement scale within this framework. Our proofs combine Fourier analysis, high-dimensional simplex codes, additive permutation counts, and entropy bounds for hypergraph matchings. We further strengthen lower bounds from short inner codes and improve several known numerical estimates.

Multi-modal large language models (MLLMs) with impressive perception and understanding capabilities will enable a range of downstream applications. However, their substantial computational and memory requirements hinder the real-world implementation, particularly for resource-constrained edge devices. Quantization has emerged as an effective solution for deploying large models. While post-training quantization (PTQ) successfully retains the performance at moderate bit-width (e.g., W8A8), it suffers from severe performance degradation under low-bit quantization (e.g., W4A8), especially for small-scale models that are more suitable for edge deployment. In this paper, we propose ProQuant, a novel weight-activation quantization-aware training (QAT) framework tailored for low-bit MLLMs. First, to align the limited finetuning dataset distribution with the pretrained dataset distribution, we propose a self-relabeling (SRL) scheme to resample the responses of the open-source multimodal dataset. Second, we are the first to take a decoupled view of multi-modal (MM) understanding and language modeling abilities. We propose a progressive block activation (PBA) mechanism to prioritize the MM understanding recovery. We also introduce a vision-sensitive factor $\vecτ$ that effectively identifies the MM-critical layers. Extensive experiments across various benchmarks, covering models with 2B-8B parameters, show that ProQuant significantly outperforms existing methods. For example, our W4A8 Qwen3-VL-2B-Instruct improves average accuracy by impressively 6.6% and achieves performance comparable to full precision counterparts with only approximately 1% performance drop. Population-Scalable Multi-Agent World Modeling across Scene Geometries

原文摘要

World models have recently achieved impressive progress in visual prediction and interactive generation, but extending them to multi-agent environments introduces a fundamental scalability challenge. Existing methods generally assume a fixed number of agents during training and inference, which ties the model to a pre-determined agent population and limits inference-time scalability. Our key insight is that cross-view consistency should arise from a shared world state whose evolution does not assume a predefined number of agents, while agent-specific observations should be generated by querying this state through a unified rendering interface. Based on this insight, we propose Khora, a scalable multi-agent world model that supports inference-time expansion to arbitrary numbers of agents without retraining. Our framework decouples world-state evolution from visual rendering and introduces a population-agnostic rendering mechanism for incorporating other agent information. This design maintains cross-view consistency through the shared world state rather than through dense interactions among observation streams inside the expensive video generator, enabling approximately linear practical scaling with the number of queried views. Qualitative experiments demonstrate that our approach generalizes to unseen numbers of agents while maintaining visual quality and multi-agent consistency. We further implement a real-time interactive system to demonstrate scalable open-world simulation.

Bri3D: Bridging the Object-Scene Gap in Single-Image 3D Generation via Scene-Anchor

Hongye Hou, Shuai Zhang, Hongjie Li, Zhuoxiao Li, Haiping Wang, Yuan Liu, Wufan Zhao

原文摘要

Generating compositional 3D scenes from a single image requires recovering detailed object geometry and coherent spatial arrangements. Existing object-to-scene methods, including SAM3D and MIDI, extend object generation through image-context reasoning or inter-instance modeling. Coordinating objects remains challenging with limited scene-level supervision. Directly extending object-centric generators to entire scenes can degrade geometry and fail to preserve instance scale, orientation, and pose. We propose Bri3D, a framework bridging scene-level structural reasoning and object-level generative priors through instance-aware voxel scene anchors. Bri3D predicts a color-coded scene scaffold encoding coarse object geometry and spatial arrangements. Each instance is extracted as a scene anchor and refined into a pose-preserving, prior-compatible voxel support, enabling a frozen object generator to synthesize detailed textured geometry in the anchor-defined spatial reference. This coarse-to-fine design separates scene organization from object-scale detail synthesis, focusing scene-level training on spatial organization and anchor refinement while reusing pretrained object priors. Experiments demonstrate improvements in scene layout, object geometry, visual quality, and generalization. Bri3D predicts scene layouts efficiently; full scene generation is faster than SceneGen and SAM3D.

Reasoning on the Manifold: Bidirectional Consistency for Self-Verification in Diffusion Language Models

原文摘要

While Diffusion Large Language Models (dLLMs) offer structural advantages for global planning, efficiently verifying that they arrive at correct answers via valid reasoning traces remains a critical challenge. In this work, we propose a geometric perspective: Reasoning on the Manifold. We hypothesize that valid generation trajectories reside as stable attractors on the high-density manifold of the learned distribution, whereas invalid paths exhibit off-manifold drift. To operationalize this, we introduce Bidirectional Manifold Consistency (BMC), a training-free, unsupervised metric that quantifies the stability of the generated sequence through a forward-masking and backward-reconstruction cycle. Empirically, we demonstrate BMC's versatility across the full reasoning lifecycle: (1) in Diagnosis, it serves as a robust discriminator of solution validity without ground truth answer; (2) in Inference, it enables rejection resampling to effectively concentrate computational resources on complex reasoning tasks; and (3) in Alignment, it functions as a dense geometric reward that transforms sparse outcome supervision into fine-grained guidance, empowering models to self-evolve beyond standard baselines. Our results establish intrinsic geometric stability as a robust indicator of correctness for dLLMs.

Nexus: Same Pretraining Loss, Better Downstream Generalization via Common Minima

Huanran Chen, Huaqing Zhang, Xiao Li, Yinpeng Dong, Ke Shen, Jun Zhu

原文摘要

The foundational capabilities of large language models are acquired during pretraining on internet-scale, highly heterogeneous data mixtures. In this work, we investigate an interesting geometric question regarding the converged state of pretraining: Does the model converge to a common minimizer across all data sources (e.g., Fig. 2b), or merely a minimizer of the summed loss (e.g., Fig. 2a)? We hypothesize that the geometric "closeness" of task-specific minima is intrinsically linked to downstream generalization. We reveal that standard optimizers (e.g., AdamW) often converge to points where task-specific minima are distant from each other. To address this, we propose the Nexus optimizer, which encourages the closeness of these minima by maximizing gradient similarity during optimization. Experiments across models ranging from 130M to 3B parameters, various data mixtures and hyperparameter schedules, show that Nexus significantly boosts downstream performance, despite achieving the same pretraining loss (see Fig. 1). Notably, on the 3B model, Nexus reduces the out-of-distribution loss by 0.012 and yields up to a 15.0% accuracy improvement on complex reasoning tasks (e.g., GSM8k). This finding challenges the reliance on pretraining loss as the sole proxy for model evaluation and demonstrates the importance of implicit biases in unlocking downstream generalization.

WoVR: World Models as Reliable Simulators for Post-Training VLA Policies with RL

原文摘要

Reinforcement learning (RL) promises to unlock capabilities beyond imitation learning for Vision--Language--Action (VLA) models, but its requirement for massive real-world interaction prevents direct deployment on physical robots. Recent work attempts to use learned world models as simulators for policy optimization, yet closed-loop imagined rollouts inevitably suffer from hallucination and long-horizon error accumulation. Such errors not only degrade visual fidelity, but also mislead policy optimization by providing unreliable learning signals. We propose WoVR, a reliable world-model-based RL framework for post-training VLA policies. Instead of assuming a faithful world model, WoVR explicitly regulates how RL interacts with imperfect imagined dynamics. It improves rollout stability through a controllable action-conditioned video world model, reshapes imagined interaction to reduce effective error depth via Keyframe-Initialized Rollouts, and maintains policy--simulator alignment through World Model-Policy co-evolution. Extensive experiments demonstrate that WoVR enables stable long-horizon imagined rollouts and effective policy optimization, achieving superior LIBERO performance and consistent real-world gains across multiple robotic platforms. These results show that world models can serve as practical simulators for RL when hallucination is explicitly controlled. THG-Omni: Traceable Human-Centric Graph Supervision for Video Reasoning

原文摘要

Omni-modal models can answer questions about video, but their predictions rarely show which participant, event, or interval supports an answer. Moreover, answer-level supervision alone does not teach a model to interpret structured video evidence. To systematically mitigate this issue, we present THG-Omni, a human-centric graph-supervision framework that links Segment Anything Model~3 participant tracks with temporally grounded Qwen3-VL annotations. Candidate semantic claims are checked against the source video and available audio before they are used to construct training questions, while track geometry provides explicit spatial and temporal supervision. The resulting questions teach an omni-modal reasoning model to interpret participant attributes, actions, affect, interactions, and their timing from a structured graph. At inference, THG-Omni uses a predicted graph constructed from the evaluation video. Experiments on IntentBench show consistent improvements over the unadapted backbone across social reasoning, emotion understanding, and deception perception. On NExT-QA, THG-Omni achieves 89.54\% accuracy with the matched graph, compared with 85.10\% without graph input. Further validation experiments show that compact graph input achieves 78.22\% accuracy, compared with 78.02\% using the full graph and 77.58\% without graph input. A complementary diagnostic demonstrates that the predicted graph preserves evidence useful for answering questions even without the source video and audio. Together, these findings show that THG-Omni improves human-centric video reasoning while grounding its evidence in identifiable participants and events. Evo-DexBench: Benchmarking Generalization across Related Tasks for Dexterous Manipulation

原文摘要

General-purpose dexterous manipulation requires policies to transfer knowledge from related tasks to new tasks with only a few target demonstrations. Existing benchmarks often provide too many target demonstrations and leave the differences between source and target tasks uncontrolled. As a result, they cannot clearly distinguish knowledge transfer from task memorization. Our key insight is the Core-Gen principle. Core tasks are related tasks that share a functional interaction and provide source knowledge, while a Gen task is a novel target within the same functional family that has only a few demonstrations. This setup tests whether a policy can reuse functional interaction knowledge. Based on this principle, we propose Evo-DexBench, which controls both source-task relatedness and target-task exposure. It comprises 30 tasks in six functional families, three everyday scenes per task, and 1,248 multimodal demonstrations collected via VR teleoperation with simulated Shadow Hands equipped with 123 taxels. Experiments show that, among six representative policies, even the best-performing method achieves an average success rate of only 24.4%, highlighting the challenges existing methods face in transferring functional interaction knowledge. Further analysis shows that, across the two tasks, joint Core + Gen training improves performance by 12% and 38%, respectively, over training on Core followed by fine-tuning on Gen, indicating that joint training makes better use of Core knowledge. With matched Core data, 8 Gen demonstrations achieve performance comparable to training on 16--32 Gen demonstrations alone. On all three tested Gen targets, functionally matched Core data yields greater gains in success rate than mismatched data. We release the Evo-DexBench dataset and benchmark to support the evaluation of dexterous manipulation policies' generalization across related tasks.

StreamMemBench: Streaming Evaluation of Agent Memory for Future-Oriented Assistance

原文摘要

A central role of personal-agent memory is to turn stored information and prior interactions into future-oriented assistance. In daily use, useful cues come from what the agent observes and how the user interacts with the agent, and the agent must carry them forward from the current request to similar future tasks. Existing memory benchmarks usually test dialogue recall or task improvement in isolation, leaving the trajectory from streaming observations to later assistance largely untested. We introduce StreamMemBench, a streaming benchmark that constructs a two-step task sequence around each evidence anchor from EgoLife egocentric streams. The initial task tests evidence use, while the follow-up task tests whether feedback and interaction experience are reused. Four metrics diagnose evidence recall, initial evidence use, feedback incorporation, and follow-up reuse. Experiments with eight memory systems across two backbones show that current systems often fail to use observed evidence or turn feedback into reliable follow-up behavior, even when evidence is stored or feedback is incorporated locally. StreamMemBench is publicly available at https://github.com/landian60/StreamMemBench.

RLVR$^{2}$: Reinforcement Learning with Verifiable Rubric-based Ranking

Hao Li, Zhengkun Zhang, Gangqiang Hu, Zhen Zhang, Yude Gao, Dai Dai, Jing Liu

原文摘要

Reinforcement Learning with Verifiable Rewards (RLVR) is expanding from tasks with well-defined correctness signals, such as mathematics and code, toward multifaceted quality requirements specified by multi-dimensional rubrics. Since policy optimization consumes one scalar per rollout, rubric-based pipelines must map multiple criterion scores into a scalar reward. This aggregation is often treated as score scaling, but it implicitly determines how quality dimensions trade off during training. The prevailing practice, normalizing each criterion and taking a linear combination, assumes that cardinal score differences are comparable across criteria and that gains on one criterion compensate for failures on another; both assumptions are unreliable when criteria are semantically heterogeneous. We propose Reinforcement Learning with Verifiable Rubric-based Ranking (RLVR$^2$), a verifiable ranking paradigm for rubric-based RLVR. For each criterion, RLVR$^2$ converts rubric scores into criterion-specific within-group ordinal outcomes, recovers a latent utility from the resulting comparison matrix, and merges these utilities into one training signal. By retaining only within-group ordering and discarding raw score magnitudes, RLVR$^2$ avoids calibrating heterogeneous rubric scales. It further supports objective-preserving attribute adjustment: auxiliary attributes that correlate with observed rankings but are not training objectives can enter the estimation without expanding the rubric or rewarding them directly. Across three model scales and 16 benchmarks, RLVR$^2$ consistently outperforms representative rubric-based baselines, achieving the best overall performance on most benchmarks at every scale. Analysis shows it controls systematic effects tied to reasoning efficiency and response formatting while preserving the quality objective.

Joint Flexible Beamforming, Resource Allocation, and Task Buffering for Movable-Antenna Enabled MEC Systems

原文摘要

The proliferation of computation-intensive applications, such as generative artificial intelligence and low-altitude economy services, demands mobile edge computing (MEC) systems that are both energy-efficient and adaptable to highly dynamic workloads. However, conventional MEC architectures rely on fixed-position antennas with limited spatial flexibility and rigid single-slot task execution models, which fail to accommodate bursty traffic and time-varying channels. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a novel MEC framework empowered by movable antennas (MAs) and task buffering. Unlike traditional approaches, our system enables continuous antenna repositioning to maximize array gains and decouples task generation from immediate execution via buffer queues, allowing for flexible multi-slot scheduling. We formulate a stochastic optimization problem to minimize long-term energy consumption by jointly optimizing receive beamforming, MA positions, and computing resources. Leveraging Lyapunov optimization, we transform the long-term problem into tractable per-slot subproblems and develop an efficient alternating optimization algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme significantly outperforms the benchmark schemes in terms of energy consumption, while maintaining stable task queues under unpredictable traffic conditions.

Projection-Free Gradient Tracking Neurodynamic for Distributed Nonnegative Sparse Optimization

Juntao Li, Qihang Guo, Deyuan Meng

原文摘要

This paper proposes a continuous-time, projection-free neurodynamic system based on gradient tracking for distributed nonnegative sparse optimization. Unlike traditional methods, our approach avoids projecting states onto the feasible set. Instead, it employs gradient tracking to estimate average gradients under heterogeneous costs, coupling primal and dual dynamics such that feasibility and sparsity emerge naturally from the equilibrium conditions. The system ensures unique solutions through a locally Lipschitz vector field and guarantees that every equilibrium corresponds to an exact KKT point. We establish rigorous convergence guarantees for convex objectives through three distinct analytical layers. These include a centralized kernel rate, a computable distributed rate derived from Jacobian analysis without restrictive stability assumptions, and a global exponential stability proof based on Lur'e system theory. Our analysis quantitatively separates these layers, revealing that the convergence rate is primarily limited by graph sparsity and remains robust to variations in momentum time scales. Numerical experiments on strongly convex quadratic problems validate the theoretical rates, demonstrate effective active set recovery, and show that the system maintains stable tail convergence rates even under strong local heterogeneity.

A Bilevel Neurodynamic Approach for Distributed SCAD-Regularized Sparse Least Squares

Juntao Li, Qihang Guo, Deyuan Meng

原文摘要

This paper proposes a bilevel particle swarm optimization (PSO)-neurodynamic method for solving the distributed sparse least-squares problem regularized by the smoothly clipped absolute deviation (SCAD) penalty to global optimality. The SCAD penalty is nonsmooth and nonconvex, so existing distributed neurodynamic methods have not been extended to it directly. Through two-time-scale singular perturbation analysis, a rigorous full-trajectory convergence theory with explicit convergence rates is established for the inner collaborative multi-agent neurodynamic system without requiring the second-order sufficient condition. A theory-guided inner-outer collaborative optimization framework is further developed, in which a red-light green-light sensitivity mechanism is embedded in the outer PSO search to enhance global search while concentrating computational effort on the SCAD shape parameters, thereby improving recovery accuracy and computational efficiency. Simulation results on four sparse-recovery scenarios demonstrate that the proposed method accurately recovers the true sparsity pattern and achieves faster convergence and lower relative error than competing neurodynamic methods.

GigaBrain-WBC-0.5: A Behavior World Model for Robust Humanoid Whole-Body Tracking with Environment Interaction

原文摘要

General-purpose motion trackers enable humanoid robots to follow diverse whole-body motions while maintaining balance, but are trained only on flat ground, failing to exploit bipedal mobility over complex terrain. Cross-terrain controllers, meanwhile, are task-specific or accept only low-dimensional locomotion commands. We introduce InterTrack, the first behavior world model (BWM) for robust whole-body tracking with environment interaction. Its Transformer jointly predicts the next action, state, and behavior distribution, learning environment-conditioned dynamics. To scale interaction training data, an automatic annotation pipeline reconstructs 3D support geometry from retargeted motions. At deployment, the policy handles commands implausible in the current environment in a "best-effort" manner. Quantitatively, InterTrack achieves an 81.3% success rate on terrain interaction (4.3 times the best evaluated baseline) and a 99.3% fall-recovery rate, while also improving free-space tracking and outperforming three leading tracking baselines across all of these regimes. To our knowledge, we provide the first demonstration of real-time cross-terrain whole-body teleoperation on a humanoid robot, alongside object interaction, stable responses to missing supports, and robust recovery from falls.

Improving Long-Tail Detection via Layout-Instruction Conditioned Diffusion Synthesis

Xinyu Zhang, Xiaodi Wang, Yanpeng Sun, Lingfeng Yang, Jingdong Wang, Lingqiao Liu

原文摘要

Synthetic data from diffusion models can improve object detection, but long-tail performance is still limited by scarce rare classes and inflexible conditioning (e.g., text-only or layout-only inputs). In this paper, we propose Tail-SD, a layout-instruction conditioned stable diffusion framework that supports text, layouts, or their hybrid, enabling controllable synthesis from boxes, masks, and/or prompts to better cover the long-tail objects. To train a single model across heterogeneous conditions, we introduce a multi-task cross-attention module and multi-task embedding tokens, improving generation quality and diversity. Extensive experiments on COCO and LVIS demonstrate that diffusion synthesis with hybrid conditioning consistently benefits detection, e.g., on LVIS val, it achieves +4.89% / +5.68% rare Box/Mask AP, highlighting strong potential for addressing long-tail challenges.

Concertina: Embodying Manipulation and Cognition in One Diffusion Vision-Language Model

Chengcheng Wang, Wei He, Wenhao Li, Hongguang Li, Kai Han, Jianyuan Guo, Chang Xu

原文摘要

Most vision-language-action (VLA) policies decouple manipulation from cognition by bolting an external action mechanism onto a vision-language model (VLM)--either quantizing actions into discrete tokens whose errors bear no stable correspondence to physical displacements, or delegating continuous trajectory generation to a separate action expert whose gradients compete with or are blocked from updating the VLM backbone. We argue that manipulation and cognition should instead be embodied in the same model, shifting from a decoupled VLA to an Embodied Vision-Language Model (eVLM). We introduce Concertina, an eVLM that places continuous trajectory representation, blockwise generation, and physical-coordinate supervision directly on the computation and parameter path of a shared diffusion VLM backbone. Each control timestep is encoded as one continuous latent action token in the backbone hidden space, and the shared Transformer reconstructs temporally ordered action blocks via the same corrupt-and-reconstruct operator used for multimodal pretraining. Active action projections account for only 0.21% of parameters in the 4.46B model with zero separate action-generator layers, compared with 16.5%-35.1% dedicated action-expert capacity in representative continuous VLAs. Using our proposed Action Interface Audit, we confirm that cross-time trajectory coupling emerges in the middle and late layers of the shared backbone rather than at the action interfaces. On standard benchmarks, Concertina achieves 98.15% average success on regular LIBERO, 85.9% on the 10,030-task LIBERO-Plus benchmark, and 4.142 average completed chain length on CALVIN ABC-D. DelegateEval: Evaluating Platforms for Personal External Service Agents

Jichao Li, Jinrong Lu, Manjiang Yu, Zhixuan Liu

原文摘要

AI agents that work for an individual over time may also help that individual serve external clients. We define a personal external service agent as an agent authorized and continuously managed by a specific individual to accept client requests, deliver work, and provide ongoing support using that person's knowledge, experience, professional methods, and service boundaries. Such agents could allow individuals to serve more clients with less direct involvement and generate economic value at scale. We propose DelegateEval, a platform-level evaluation framework for agent systems that may combine large language models, reusable skills, protocols such as MCP, and executable tool environments. It covers eight dimensions: ease of creation, service discovery and matching, delivery quality, expertise inheritance, service continuity, learning and improvement, reliability and governance, and efficiency and value. These dimensions assess whether a platform enables people with different backgrounds to turn their expertise into ongoing services that deliver verifiable work, develop capabilities through experience, and remain economically feasible. We present the framework and an experimental design. Complete datasets, executable environments, a unified scoring protocol, and cross-model results remain to be developed and empirically validated.

TACG: Trajectory-Aware Commit Gating for Diffusion Language Model Decoding

Chengcheng Wang, Tingzhang Luo, Wenhao Li, Jianyuan Guo, Chang Xu

原文摘要

Diffusion language models predict many masked positions at each denoising step, but their efficiency and output quality depend on which predictions enter the evolving context. Confidence is informative but incomplete for this decision: at matched confidence, proposals with different identity and support histories exhibit different one-step revision rates. We propose Trajectory-Aware Commit Gating (TACG), a training-free decoder that separates the current token proposal from the decision to commit it. TACG scores temporal support for the current proposal by contrasting its logits with an exponential moving average of earlier logits, requires the proposal identity to persist through a History Gate, and promotes a capped number of additional positions per step. The gate decides which positions to commit and when; every written token remains the contemporaneous base proposal. On complete four-task LLaDA evaluations under the stated single-seed protocol, measured task-specific operating points reach 51.02\% mean accuracy with 67.82 mean model evaluations, compared with 48.00\% and 76.59 for Native Confidence. Under a matched per-event commit-count replay, history-guided selection exceeds confidence ranking by 8.3 accuracy points at identical per-sample NFE. History-reference interventions alter commitment timing while preserving the base-proposal write rule. Experiments on Dream and LLaDA2-Mini characterize quality--cost behavior across backbones and generation lengths. The code is publicly available at https://github.com/Clarence-CV/TACG-DLLM.

Structured Quantum Hardness from Unstructured Assumptions

Xiao Liang, Takashi Yamakawa, Chak Fai Yung

原文摘要

Whether useful structured hardness can arise from unstructured assumptions is a fundamental question in complexity and cryptography. The longstanding Bennett-Gill question asks whether $\mathsf{NP}\cap\mathsf{coNP}$ remains hard relative to a random oracle; [GIKKLS, STOC 2023] recently gave a conditional affirmative answer in the classical setting. We establish the quantum analogue: if $\mathsf{UP}\not\subseteq\mathsf{BQP}$, then $\mathsf{NP}^{O}\cap\mathsf{coNP}^{O}\not\subseteq\mathsf{BQP}^{O}$ with probability $1$ over a random oracle $O$. Beyond extending the classical result, this separation has a distinctly quantum significance: Shor's algorithms defeat canonical number-theoretic hardness candidates, while lattice assumptions and other leading post-quantum cryptographic assumptions do not directly supply hard languages with two-sided classical certification on every input. Our conditional oracle separation provides evidence that such structured quantum hardness can nevertheless arise from unstructured sources. Complementing this result, we rule out fully black-box quantum reductions of worst-case quantum hardness in $\mathsf{NP}\cap\mathsf{coNP}$ to post-quantum injective one-way functions and indistinguishability obfuscation. This barrier excludes a broad class of black-box approaches to deriving structured quantum hardness from generic cryptographic primitives, providing partial evidence that the non-black-box techniques in our first result are essential.

Do VLMs See What Sensors Feel? A Scalable Expert-Guided Design for Wheelchair Accessibility Assessment from Street View

Dongdong Wang, Alina Hagen, Isabelle Gatmaitan, Hao Zhou, Yiwen Dong, Shabboo Valipoor, Vivian W. H. Wong, Lingyao Li

原文摘要

Assessing built-environment interaction, such as wheelchair accessibility, is challenging because real-world mobility is shaped by context-dependent and temporary barriers that are difficult to capture at scale. This paper examines whether vision-language models (VLMs) can identify potential accessibility barriers from Google Street View (GSV) imagery. We propose an expert-guided retrieval-augmented framework that combines GSV imagery, ADA-informed guidance, and expert-derived rubrics to evaluate multiple accessibility dimensions. We collect a campus-scale dataset at the University of Florida, linking 407 unique GSV locations with GPS-derived wheelchair dwell behavior as a proxy for potential mobility friction. Results show that VLM ratings are negatively correlated with dwell time and exhibit distributional similarity, with the expert-guided configuration strengthening the correlation from $r=-0.40$ to $r=-0.54$ for the strongest model. Visual cue analysis further shows that features such as curb ramps and crosswalks are associated with higher VLM accessibility scores, while correspondence remains limited for subtle surface conditions, transient obstructions, and viewpoint-dependent barriers. Overall, our findings demonstrate the potential of expert-guided VLMs for scalable preliminary accessibility screening and prioritizing locations for further investigation.

Vis2State: Visual Reasoning through Executable State Abstractions

Sheng Jin, Wentao Liu, Chen Qian

原文摘要

Solving visual puzzles requires both accurate interpretation of visual evidence and reliable computation under task-specific rules. Embedding visual assumptions and task constraints directly in solving code makes the represented problem difficult to inspect and revise independently. We introduce Vis2State, a training-free agentic framework that abstracts visual puzzles into explicit, revisable problem states linking visual inspection and execution. Visual inspection guides state construction and refinement, while generated programs solve the represented problem. The model constructs both the state and the program without predefined puzzle schemas or solving procedures. Inspection and execution feedback allow it to revise the problem representation and solving procedure independently. Vis2State achieves the state-of-the-art performance on four benchmarks. Cross-model evaluation further demonstrates consistent gains. Ablations, error analyses, and fixed-program state interventions further support the effectiveness of the state-centered design. The code will be made publicly available to facilitate future research.

Foundation Model-Driven Semantic Change Detection in Remote Sensing Imagery

原文摘要

Remote sensing (RS) change detection is essential for interpreting surface dynamics. Semantic change detection (SCD) further enables pixel-level understanding of multi-class transitions, yet remains sensitive to pseudo-changes induced by imaging conditions. Recent RS foundation models extract semantically consistent features across temporal and environmental variations, which is critical for mitigating pseudo-changes. However, existing SCD methods are often rigid and backbone-specific, lacking the flexibility to integrate diverse multi-scale features from emerging foundation models. To this end, we introduce a modular Cascaded Gated Decoder (CG-Decoder) that bridges various backbones and SCD tasks, processing multi-scale features in a coarse-to-fine manner while enabling adaptive change extraction. Building upon the RS foundation model PerA, we present PerASCD, a unified SCD framework. We further propose a Soft Semantic Consistency Loss (SSCLoss) to mitigate numerical instability in mixed-precision training. Extensive experiments on SECOND and LandsatSCD show that PerASCD achieves new state-of-the-art Sek scores (26.11% and 65.21%), surpassing the previous best by 0.61% and 4.95%, respectively. It also demonstrates exceptional data efficiency (outperforming the full-data baseline with 50% data), seamless cross-backbone generalization, and enhanced interpretability. Our approach maintains robust semantic consistency under radiometric variations, providing a reliable SCD solution. Code: https://github.com/SathShen/PerASCD.git.

Twig: Parallel and Memory-Efficient Tree Speculative Decoding for Hybrid-Attention LLMs

原文摘要

Emerging LLMs increasingly interleave full attention with recurrent linear attention to reduce long-context serving costs. Tree speculative decoding could further accelerate these hybrid models, but recurrent linear-attention layers carry parent-dependent states. Existing engines therefore verify proposal trees sequentially and snapshot the full state per node, causing latency and memory to grow with tree and batch sizes. We present Twig, a kernel--runtime co-design for tree speculative decoding of hybrid LLMs. Twig derives a tree-structured factorization of the linear-attention recurrence and realizes it with a resource-efficient GPU kernel that verifies all nodes in parallel, accelerating linear-attention tree verification by 3.4--7.7$\times$. It losslessly represents speculative state updates as token-level factors and reconstructs only the accepted state, reducing transient state memory by 82--99$\times$ and freeing GPU memory for KV caches. We integrate Twig into SGLang, a widely deployed production LLM serving engine, and further optimize its runtime through batch-wide verification budgeting. Across four models, two GPU platforms, and diverse datasets, Twig achieves up to $4.72\times$ the offline decode throughput of autoregressive decoding and up to $2.03\times$ that of the strongest tree-speculative baseline. Under online agent workloads, Twig reduces TTFT and TPOT by up to $67.6\%$ and $49.9\%$, respectively, over the strongest tree-speculative baseline.

Where Do Reported Long-Video QA Gains Come From? A Controlled Audit of Frame Selection, Evidence Injection, and Expert Routing

Shih-Yao Lin

原文摘要

Long-video question answering is usually studied as frame selection: which few frames should a vision-language model see? We introduce VideoRouteAudit, a controlled audit that separates this choice from two alternatives, injecting non-visual evidence and routing to another answering model. It holds the backbone, frame budget, decoding, prompt and grader fixed while varying one decision at a time. On the full Video-MME long bucket (n=900, K=8), no tested selector significantly improves over uniform sampling. The largest selection-only estimate is +1.9 pt (95% CI [-1.2,+5.0]) and our cascade is +1.2 pt [-1.7,+4.1]; all are equivalent to uniform within +/-5 pt. The same contrasts are unstable at the n=200 subset scale commonly used: three of four are up to 3.8x larger, one reverses sign, and resampled 200-item subsets reverse the full-bucket effect's sign in 35.8% of draws. The audit also corrects our own first results. The anomaly-domain "+ASR" arms injected no text, so the pooled +4.7 pt gain was selection plus a development prefix. With transcripts, ASR lowers XD-Violence accuracy by 10.0 pt when appended after the question and not at all when placed before it, and lowers UCF-Crime by 13.0 pt either way; on Video-MME, placing it first adds about 4 pt (7 on Qwen2-VL) to uniform sampling and to the cascade alike (post hoc, unadjusted). Swapping the answering model gives the largest contrast (+15.1 pt on MUSIC-AVQA, +33.3 pt on its worst type), but the same audio-visual expert with its soundtrack silenced keeps 92% of the gain (69% with a mismatched soundtrack), so the contrast is mostly a model swap. Code, per-item predictions and scripts that recompute every statistic are available at https://github.com/mikeslin-ir/long-video-qa-audit.
