Developing seamless, high-performance, native intelligent full-duplex Spoken Language Models (SLMs) remains a critical challenge and long-standing goal for the speech and NLP community. Despite notable progress, recent endeavors are fundamentally constrained by severe modality interference, which causes substantial knowledge degradation and compromises semantic integrity -- ultimately making full-duplex SLMs feel unnatural and unintelligent. In this paper, through an exhaustive fine-grained analysis of model optimization dynamics, we uncover the root cause of such performance degradation, revealing that modality interference arises from inherent gradient conflicts between acoustic and semantic modeling when the two modalities are forced to share a deep parameter space. Guided by this key insight, we introduce Lychee-FD, a native end-to-end full-duplex framework designed to mitigate modality interference. Importantly, we propose a hierarchical parameter separation strategy that decouples conflicting modalities in deep layers while preserving cross-modality coherence via a dedicated semantic alignment channel. Extensive experiments on multiple full-duplex benchmarks demonstrate that our method significantly advances the state of the art, yielding substantial improvements in both speech intelligence (+7.4% on Spoken QA) and full-duplex interaction fluidity (+28.5% on FullDuplexBench 1.5) without compromising inference efficiency. To the best of our knowledge, this work is the first to achieve two key advances: 1) uncovering and elucidating the root cause of modality interference in full-duplex SLMs, and 2) designing an elegant hierarchical model together with a practical solution for seamless, high-performance, native intelligent full-duplex SLMs.

Malocclusion skeletal grading is a fundamental task in orthodontics, critical for diagnosis and treatment planning. Traditionally, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is used for visual measurement, and the reconstructed lateral cephalograms are handed over to expert dentists for diagnosis. However, manual review is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and subject to inter-operator variability. Therefore, an automatic CBCT-based system is needed for reliable malocclusion skeletal grading. In this case, we develop TeethGNN, a novel graph-based framework designed to combine CBCT image features with morphological information for accurate and efficient malocclusion grading. TeethGNN utilizes a decoupled learnable decoder to directly predict key morphological indicators from CBCT images, eliminating the need for manual measurements. These morphological features are then fused with image features using a graph neural network (GNN), which effectively models the relationships between the modalities. To further enhance robustness and calibration, we introduce a collaborative calibration strategy. This strategy combines multi-scale graph adversarial perturbation for explicit calibration and nonlinear topological graph calibration for implicit confidence adjustment. Extensive experiments and ablation studies on our collected clinical dataset demonstrate that our malocclusion measurement system achieves 77.08\% in accuracy and 89.61\% in AUC, outperforming the compared state-of-the-art methods. These results validate the effectiveness of graph-based multimodal fusion and collaborative calibration in improving malocclusion grading performance. Our system shows strong potential for advancing computer-aided orthodontic diagnosis, providing an accurate and reliable solution for vision-based clinical measurement and diagnosis.
Multivariate time series forecasting plays a critical role in Web and cyber-physical systems, where large-scale services and IoT infrastructures generate complex temporal data. Transformer-based models have achieved strong empirical performance in this domain, yet the principles governing the expressive capacity of their learned representations remain insufficiently understood. Moreover, many existing models rely on simplified decoding strategies, including channel-independent modeling and direct projection heads, which limit their ability to capture complex multivariate dynamics. To address these challenges, we propose RankFormer, a novel encoder-decoder architecture for multivariate time series forecasting. We establish a rank-based analysis framework to investigate how tokenization, embedding, and attention designs affect the representation capacity of time series Transformers. Our analysis reveals that patchification increases the potential representation capacity by aggregating multiple temporal observations into each token, while subsequent encoding operations determine how much of this capacity is realized. Guided by these insights, we develop a rank-enhancing encoder with Hourglass Attention to improve rank stability during information interaction. Furthermore, we introduce the Interactive Progressive Decoder (IPD), which improves future trajectory modeling through global-guided cross-channel interaction and progressive refinement. Extensive experiments on real-world long-term forecasting benchmarks demonstrate that RankFormer achieves competitive performance against state-of-the-art methods. Time-series data generated by Web services and connected systems support applications such as user activity analysis, service monitoring, and resource management. However, learning transferable representations from heterogeneous time series remains challenging due to diverse temporal patterns, variable sequence lengths, and limited high-quality annotations. Despite the success of pre-training in natural language processing and computer vision, effective time-series pre-training requires strategies tailored to temporal data. We propose TimeHAT (Hybrid Attention Transformer), a general-purpose pre-training framework for time-series analysis that addresses two complementary questions: what to learn and how to learn. For what to learn, we introduce a Unified Point-Patch Masking Strategy (UPPMS) that integrates point-level and patch-level supervision within a unified framework for contextual reconstruction and causal extrapolation, enabling the model to capture both fine-grained temporal variations and broader temporal patterns. For how to learn, we develop a Hybrid Attention Encoder (HAE) that combines prefix-constrained bidirectional attention in initial layers with directional hybrid attention in deeper layers, aiming to preserve effective contextual interactions while mitigating rank degeneration. We evaluate TimeHAT across real-world datasets and four downstream tasks: classification, long-term forecasting, imputation, and anomaly detection. Experiments cover fine-tuning, few-shot, and zero-shot transfer settings, demonstrating competitive performance across diverse time-series analysis tasks. Code is available at https://github.com/TangPeiwang/TimeHAT.

Recent advances in unified multimodal models indicate a clear trend towards comprehensive content generation. However, the auditory domain remains a significant challenge, with music and speech often developed in isolation, hindering progress towards universal audio synthesis. This separation stems from inherent task conflicts between semantic speech and structural music modeling, and severe data imbalances, which impede the development of a truly unified model. To address these challenges, we propose UniMoE-Audio a unified speech and music generation model built upon a novel Dynamic-Capacity Mix-of-Experts (DCMoE) framework. Architecturally, UniMoE-Audio extends the conventional MoE paradigm by introducing a Top-P routing strategy for adaptive capacity allocation. To tackle data imbalance, we introduce a three-stage training curriculum: 1) Independent Specialist Training leverages original datasets to instill domain-specific knowledge into each specialists without interference; 2) MoE Integration and Warmup incorporates these specialists into the UniMoE-Audio architecture, warming up the gate module and shared expert using a subset of balanced dataset; and 3) Synergistic Joint Training trains the entire model end-to-end on the fully balanced dataset, fostering enhanced cross-domain synergy. Extensive experiments show that UniMoE-Audio not only achieves state-of-the-art performance on major speech and music generation benchmarks, but also demonstrates superior synergistic learning, mitigating the performance degradation typically seen in naive joint training. Our findings highlight the substantial potential of specialized MoE architecture and curated training strategies in advancing universal audio generation.
