原文摘要

The rapid proliferation of LLM-based autonomous agents in real operating system environments introduces a new category of safety risk beyond content safety: behavior jailbreak, where an adversary induces an agent to execute dangerous OS-level operations with irreversible consequences. Existing benchmarks either evaluate safety at the semantic layer alone, missing physical-layer harms, or fail to isolate test cases, letting earlier runs contaminate later ones. We present LITMUS (LLM-agents In-OS Testing for Measuring Unsafe Subversion), a benchmark addressing both gaps via a semantic-physical dual verification mechanism and OS-level state rollback. LITMUS comprises 819 high-risk test cases organized into one harmful seed subset and six attack-extended subsets covering three adversarial paradigms (jailbreak speaking, skill injection, and entity wrapping), plus a fully automated multi-agent evaluation framework judging behavior at both conversational and OS-level physical layers. Evaluation across frontier agents reveals three findings: (1) current agents lack effective safety awareness, with strong models (e.g., Claude Sonnet 4.6) still executing 40.64% of high-risk operations; (2) agents exhibit pervasive Execution Hallucination (EH), verbally refusing a request while the dangerous operation has already completed at the system level, invisible to every prior semantic-only framework; and (3) skill injection and entity wrapping attacks achieve high success rates, exposing pronounced agent vulnerabilities. LITMUS provides the first standardized platform for reproducible, physically grounded behavioral safety evaluation of LLM agents in real OS environments.

Minimizing Bottleneck Overload Risk in Online Edge Task Placement under Workload Uncertainty

Lei Wang, Winston K. G. Seah, Gang Xu, Xiaodong Xu, Baoqi Huang

原文摘要

In edge computing, tasks must be placed on servers of finite capacity before workloads are realized, often with only workload means and variances known. An assignment balanced on expected load can still leave a server with more fluctuations than its residual capacity can absorb. Per-server risk constraints can enforce a prescribed overload tolerance but do not distinguish the assignments that meet it by how close the riskiest server comes to the limit. We show that, for independent tasks, placement preserves a period's total variance and total residual capacity, and decides only how fluctuation, measured by standard deviation, is paired with residual capacity across servers. The risk ratio, the ratio of fluctuation to residual capacity, parameterizes a server's worst-case overload probability over all aggregate workload distributions with given mean and variance. We minimize the largest risk ratio, attained at the risk bottleneck. Risk-Bottleneck Placement (RBP) places tasks in descending order of standard deviation, each on the server with the smallest post-assignment risk ratio, and refines the assignment with relocations and swaps within a finite per-period online budget. On small instances solved exactly by enumerating every assignment, minimizing the maximum expected utilization leaves the largest risk ratio 25.66-29.19% above its exact minimum on average, even with risk-minimizing tie-breaking, and the corresponding gap for RBP is 1.77-2.64%. In trace-derived multi-period simulations at two workload pressures, RBP reduces the worst-server overload probability by 26.0% and 18.0% relative to the best baseline and remains the lowest at every tested pressure and scale.

FutureWorld: A Plug-and-Play Causal Next-State Predictor for Interactive Video World Exploration

原文摘要

Interactive video world models aim to follow user actions while maintaining scene consistency over extended interactions. History-based methods reuse generated latents to preserve scene content, but three limitations of this reuse contribute to error recirculation. 1) The latent generated at each interaction is retained as history, potentially containing blurred details, geometric distortions, or semantic drift. 2) Although retrieved historical content matches the current scene, it can still contain errors that are carried into the next chunk. 3) New outputs then become history for later interactions, potentially reinforcing the same errors through repeated reuse. To limit this cycle, we aim to predict the future scene state from the current generated latent and the next action before generating the next interaction's video chunk. This future-state prior provides guidance for the next chunk, with the aim of reducing the errors carried forward from history. To this end, we propose a plug-and-play Causal Next-Chunk Predictor (C-NCP) with cross-model adaptability and prediction-guided modulation. We integrate C-NCP into four base generators and evaluate the augmented models across three benchmarks for interactive long-video generation and action-conditioned world modeling. Extensive experiments demonstrate reduced error accumulation and improved long-horizon consistency across diverse generation settings. 原文摘要

Event cameras offering high dynamic range and low latency have emerged as disruptive technologies in imaging. Despite growing research on leveraging these benefits for different imaging tasks, a comprehensive study of recently advances and challenges are still lacking. This limits the broader understanding of how to utilize events in universal imaging applications. In this survey, we first introduce a physical model and the characteristics of different event sensors as the foundation. Following this, we highlight the advancement and interaction of image/video enhancement tasks with events. Additionally, we explore advanced tasks, which capture richer light information with events, \eg~light field estimation, multi-view generation, and photometric. Finally, we discuss new challenges and open questions offering a perspective for this rapidly evolving field. ReferStream: Interactive Subject Injection for Streaming Video Generation

原文摘要

Injecting new subjects naturally during streaming video generation requires integrating newly supplied visual references into the existing video while preserving established subjects and the scene. Encoding references independently of the current scene provides little guidance for this integration, while keeping their features in persistent memory can interfere with established context. We propose ReferStream, a framework that requires no additional training and combines reference construction using the current scene with transient cache injection. Joint Latent places reference latents in target regions of the latest scene latent, allowing reference features to be extracted in context. Cache Restoration uses these features to condition the injection chunk, then restores the overwritten global cache entries while retaining the newly generated history. This procedure incorporates new visual conditions without retraining the generator or revising emitted frames. We further introduce ReferStream Bench, a new benchmark with scheduled reference arrivals, evolving instructions, and explicit annotations of subject presence for InShot and MultiShot generation. Evaluation follows the event schedule and measures both the fidelity of new subjects and the preservation of established subjects, alongside video quality, text adherence, and count accuracy. Experiments on ReferStream Bench show higher scores for text adherence, subject similarity, and count accuracy than the compared baselines, including offline methods given all references in advance. 原文摘要

Image editing models can modify visual content through natural language, but editing dense documents requires precise local changes amid tightly coupled text, tables, and layout. We introduce VDE Bench, an evaluation resource for studying instruction-guided editing of Chinese and English document images. VDE Bench contains 3,506 instruction-guided image editing samples, including 1,578 text-region edits and 1,928 table-region edits. The benchmark pairs editing instructions and reference images with annotated editing regions and structured OCR outputs. Its evaluation protocol combines region-level and full-page measurements to assess textual correctness, structural fidelity, and visual content preservation. By focusing on the interaction between local edits and their surrounding document context, VDE Bench complements existing visual text editing benchmarks and provides a resource for diagnosing document-specific editing failures.

Can One Hear Geometry? Gauge-Invariant Spectral Descriptors for Text-to-B-rep Retrieval

Hongzhu Yi, Hao Liu, Tao Yu, Tiankun Yang, Yujia Yang, Zhenghao Zhang, Tianyu Zong, Zhenyu Guan 等 13 位作者

原文摘要

Text-to-3D solid retrieval faces a fundamental representation gap: while natural language describes intrinsic shapes, Boundary Representation (B-rep) entangles precise geometry with arbitrary variations in pose, scale, and boundary encoding conventions. Existing methods either discretize B-reps at the cost of analytic precision, or learn features from topological graphs without explicit invariance guarantees. We propose a text-to-B-rep retrieval framework based on geometric equivalence classes and spectral invariants, mathematically eliminating representation ambiguities prior to cross-modal alignment. Formalizing translation, rotation, reflection, uniform scaling, and contour re-indexing via group actions, we exploit the planar-profile-and-extrusion structure of engineering solids to construct a unified spectral descriptor across cross-sectional regions, contour boundaries, and extrusion depths. On public benchmarks, our method achieves state-of-the-art recall performance across all evaluation metrics.

Streaming Communication in Multi-Agent Reasoning

Zhen Yang, Xiaogang Xu, Wen Wang, Cong Chen, Xander Xu, Ying-Cong Chen

原文摘要

Multi-agent reasoning systems adopt a generate-then-transfer paradigm that forces end-to-end latency to scale linearly with pipeline depth. We introduce StreamMA, a multi-agent reasoning system that streams each reasoning step to downstream agents as soon as it is generated, pipelining adjacent agents and thus reducing latency. Surprisingly, this pipelining also improves effectiveness: because multi-step reasoning quality is non-uniform and early steps are more reliable than later ones, working with these reliable early steps instead of the full chain prevents error-prone late steps from misleading downstream agents. We formalize both advantages with the first closed-form joint analysis of stream, serial, and single protocols, deriving the effectiveness ordering, speedup upper bound, and cost ratio. Across eight reasoning benchmarks spanning mathematics, science, and code, three frontier LLMs (Claude Opus 4.6, GPT-5.4, and GLM-5.2), and three topologies (Chain, Tree, Graph), StreamMA outperforms both baselines (avg.+7.3pp, max +22.4pp on HMMT2026; Claude Opus 4.6-High). Beyond these contributions, we discover a step-level scaling law: increasing per-agent steps consistently improves both effectiveness and efficiency, a new scaling dimension orthogonal to and composable with agent-count scaling.

L2Dir: Integrating L\_2-Norm and Directional Alignment for Unsupervised Contrastive Representation Learning in Multimodal Retrieval

原文摘要

Multimodal representation learning primarily relies on contrastive objectives such as InfoNCE to align diverse modalities. However, these methods focus almost exclusively on directional alignment and often neglect the intrinsic role of embedding magnitudes (L2-norm) in the contrastive process. To bridge this gap, we propose L2Dir, a plug-and-play framework designed to optimize L2-norm alignment and Directional consistency jointly. As a highly efficient solution, L2Dir doesn’t require extra data, distillation, or external supervision. It can be integrated seamlessly into existing pipelines by employing a lightweight MLP to reconstruct magnitudes from frozen backbone features. Extensive evaluations across 95 tasks using UniIR and VLM2Vec-V2 frameworks demonstrate that L2Dir yields consistent and significant performance gains over established baselines across various backbones and scales, proving that explicit magnitude modeling is a versatile and potent strategy for refining unsupervised multimodal representations. The source code for L2Dir in VLM2Vec-V2 is available in the supplementary materials.

原文摘要

Collaboration and information sharing empower Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) but also introduce a critical security risk known as Agent Cascading Injection (ACI). In such attacks, a compromised agent exploits inter-agent trust to propagate malicious instructions, causing cascading failures across the system. However, existing studies consider only limited attack strategies and simplified MAS settings, limiting their generalizability and comprehensive evaluation. To bridge this gap, we introduce ACIArena, a unified framework for evaluating the robustness of MAS. ACIArena offers systematic evaluation suites spanning multiple attack surfaces (i.e., external inputs, agent profiles, inter-agent messages) and attack objectives (i.e., instruction hijacking, task disruption, information exfiltration). Specifically, ACIArena establishes a unified specification that jointly supports MAS construction and attack–defense modules. It covers six widely used MAS implementations and provides a benchmark of 1,356 test cases for systematically evaluating MAS robustness. Our benchmarking results show that evaluating MAS robustness solely through topology is insufficient; robust MAS require deliberate role design and controlled interaction patterns. Moreover, defenses developed in simplified environments often fail to transfer to real-world settings; narrowly scoped defenses may even introduce new vulnerabilities. ACIArena aims to provide a solid foundation for advancing deeper exploration of MAS design principles.
