AI 速览:作者构建了包含69.7K片段、1,655小时、约3.5亿帧的分钟级游戏视频数据集GameVerse,用于支撑长时程交互式世界模型训练。

Recent advances in interactive world models have made it possible to generate controllable, dynamic environments from action inputs. Yet current models struggle to maintain coherence beyond roughly one minute of rollout, a limitation rooted not in model capacity but in the scarcity of long-horizon training data. Existing gameplay video datasets typically consist of clips under ten seconds, with captions that describe whole clips in coarse and undifferentiated text, which is insufficient for controllable long-horizon generation. We address this with GameVerse, a minute-scale gameplay video dataset purpose-built for long-horizon interactive world modeling. GameVerse contains 69.7K clips spanning 1,655 hours and 349.6 million frames across diverse first- and third-person gameplay, including 1,358 hours of continuous two-minute sequences, an order of magnitude longer than prior datasets. Clips pass through a unified pipeline of scene-consistent segmentation, quality filtering, camera pose estimation, and event-based caption annotation. Each clip is paired with a temporally stable camera trajectory that remains coherent across minutes, together with captions that separate static scene context from dynamic foreground events and align to event boundaries rather than fixed time windows. Comprehensive analysis shows that GameVerse surpasses existing public datasets in scale, diversity, and annotation quality. Experiments further demonstrate that training on GameVerse substantially extends the temporal horizon of interactive world models.

Learning Motion-Expressive 4D Gaussian Representations from Monocular Videos with Flow Splatting

Jinzhao Li, Miao Liu

AI 速览:提出具有时变均值与协方差的运动表达型4D高斯表示,并通过Flow Splatting渲染光流实现稠密运动监督,从单目视频重建动态3D场景。

Reconstructing dynamic 3D scenes from monocular videos remains challenging because limited observations provide insufficient motion constraints. Conventional 4D Gaussian representations model spatiotemporal appearance efficiently, but the restricted temporal evolution of each primitive makes complex nonlinear dynamics difficult to represent compactly. We propose a motion-expressive 4D Gaussian representation with time-varying means and covariances. By analytically differentiating Gaussian trajectories, we obtain Gaussian velocities and introduce Flow Splatting to render optical flow while accounting for camera motion, enabling dense motion supervision. This formulation jointly models scene appearance and motion within a unified set of 4D Gaussian primitives. We further introduce an initialization strategy based on the sampling theorem and a velocity consistency regularizer to stabilize optimization. Experiments on DAVIS and NVIDIA Dynamic Scenes demonstrate a favorable trade-off between reconstruction quality and efficiency under challenging monocular settings.

AI 速览:作者构建了迄今规模最大的真实图像婴儿姿态数据集 InfantNet,并建立婴儿 2D 关键点检测与 3D 姿态形状恢复基准。

Infant pose and shape estimation is essential for applications in childcare, developmental monitoring, and medical diagnosis. However, existing methods and datasets are largely designed for adults, and direct transfer to infants fails due to substantial differences in body proportions, articulation limits, and frequent self-occlusion. To address this gap, we introduce InfantNet, the largest real-image infant dataset to date, comprising 108,902 RGB images of infants aged 6-18 months. Each image is annotated with 2D keypoints, and a curated subset of 11,642 images additionally includes 3D pose and shape annotations with full SMIL parameters, verified through multi-view rendering and reprojection-error filtering. We use an iterative annotation pipeline to ensure high fidelity across both 2D and 3D labels. InfantNet establishes a large-scale, comprehensive benchmark for infant 2D keypoint detection and 3D pose-and-shape recovery. Baseline experiments demonstrate that state-of-the-art adult pose estimators do not generalize well to infants, whereas fine-tuning on InfantNet yields a consistent improvement. The gains are even more pronounced for 3D pose and shape estimation, where SMIL-based estimation demonstrates robust performance with accuracy comparable to results reported for SMPL-based models. By releasing the InfantNet dataset and benchmark, we provide a vital resource for advancing infant pose analysis and related healthcare applications.

AI 速览:JEDI 将演示压缩为在冻结视频-JEPA 空间中预测查询回合下一阶段关键帧的潜在槽,以支持多示例上下文模仿学习。

In-context imitation learning (ICIL) adapts robot policies through test-time demonstrations, but long multimodal trajectories constrain how many examples fit in context. We ask what a compressed demonstration should preserve. We propose JEDI, which compresses demonstrations into latent slots trained to predict the query episode's next-stage keyframe in a frozen video-JEPA space. Task and process counterfactuals help the slots preserve execution details, while the predictor selects demonstrations from a bank. Post-training with keypoint tokens enables human-hand conditioning on robots. Experiments on LIBERO and real robots show that JEDI supports many-shot context; LIBERO objective controls show improved success and demonstration following over action-only compression. These findings support query-future prediction as a training objective for preserving execution-relevant information in compressed demonstrations.

Robust Context-Aware Detection of Malicious Instructions in Text

Buzhao Liu, Xinhang Ma, Yevgeniy Vorobeychik

The remarkable instruction-following ability of modern LLMs has enabled their practical use in orchestrating workflows of tool-using agents. This, however, also exposes such agents to attacks which embed malicious instructions in text, such as indirect prompt injection (IPI). One class of approaches to defend against such attacks aims to detect malicious sentences within otherwise benign text. While a number of approaches for this have been proposed, all tend to be brittle under adaptive paraphrasing attacks, in part because they do not capture sufficient global context to effectively differentiate malicious text from benign. We address this gap by developing an approach for malicious sentence classification that is both context- and query-aware, which we then harden against paraphrasing through two adversarial training (AT) methods: feature-space robust learning and AT with simulated LLM-based paraphrasing. Moreover, we parametrize the AT variants to facilitate a smooth tradeoff between utility and attack robustness. In extensive experiments using IPI benchmarks we show that our approach outperforms state-of-the-art defense baselines under both static and adaptive paraphrasing attacks while preserving high utility. Focused Forcing: Content-Aware Per-Frame KV Selection for Efficient Autoregressive Video Diffusion

Peiliang Cai, Evelyn Zhang, Jiacheng Liu, Hao Lin, Ruiqi Zhang, Weile Mo, Yue Ma, Shikang Zheng 等 11 位作者

Recent advances in autoregressive video diffusion have enabled sequential and streaming video generation. However, long-horizon generation requires increasingly large KV caches, making efficient compression without sacrificing quality challenging. Existing methods mostly select historical frames based on attention scores, but their context decisions remain coarse. When multiple frames are generated in the same chunk, these methods often apply a shared history selection to the whole chunk, score historical frames solely by attention, and assign head-wise budgets either uniformly or by attention-pattern heuristics rather than explicit head-importance estimation. We show that frames within the same generated chunk can depend on distinct historical frames, that the same historical frame can receive different attention scores as its relative temporal distance to the current frames changes, and that masking different heads induces unequal generation degradation. Motivated by these findings, we propose Focused Forcing, a training-free KV selection method that focuses cached history along both generated-frame and head dimensions. For each generated frame, Focused Forcing preserves the most relevant and distinctive historical frames by combining attention scores with diversity scores of historical frames, while assigning larger budgets to heads with higher estimated importance. Across multiple autoregressive generation paradigms, Focused Forcing achieves up to 1.48x end-to-end acceleration without training, while improving visual quality and text alignment. Our code is available at https://github.com/caipeiliang2004/Focused-Forcing.

DynaFlow: Learning Free-Form Multi-Agent Orchestration

Ruhao Liu, Qi Li, Shizun Wang, Xinchao Wang

Multi-agent systems often rely on predefined collaboration structures, limiting their ability to adapt to diverse task requirements. We introduce DynaFlow, a framework that integrates free-form executable workflow synthesis into the action space of the main agent. The agent decides when collaboration is needed and generates task-specific programs that coordinate sub-agents through sequential or parallel execution, structured information exchange, and verification. Execution results and traces inform subsequent actions, enabling the agent to adapt collaboration as reasoning progresses. We train only the main agent through supervised fine-tuning on distilled trajectories, followed by refinement on examples filtered for unsupported premises, biased verification, and information-flow defects. All sub-agents remain fixed, separating orchestration learning from executor capability improvement. Across six benchmarks spanning mathematical reasoning, scientific question answering, and multi-hop retrieval, DynaFlow achieves 88.08% overall accuracy in Forced mode, outperforming the strongest evaluated baseline by 10.90 percentage points with the same Qwen3.5-27B backbone. Workflow analysis finds more explicit use, verification, and refinement of upstream outputs after training, highlighting cross-stage information flow as a key dimension of multi-agent orchestration.

KV Cache Quantization for Diffusion Language Models

Yan Tai, Yunan Ding, Guangzhao Li, Siqi Luo, Chaoyang Zhang, Guangtao Zhai, Guodong Guo, Xiaohong Liu

KV cache quantization is well studied for autoregressive language models, where cached prefix states are exact under causal attention and quantization is mainly a cache reconstruction problem. Diffusion language models (dLLMs) break this assumption. Fast dLLM inference reuses KV states across denoising steps, but bidirectional token representations can change as masked tokens are revealed, so the reused cache may already differ from full recomputation before quantization is applied. We study KV cache quantization under this cache-reuse error. We adapt KIVI and KVQuant to Fast-dLLM-style prefix and dual cache reuse, and introduce TRACE and dLLM-KVQ. TRACE reconstructs feasible dLLM reveal trajectories from prompt-answer pairs, providing calibration states that match iterative masked decoding. dLLM-KVQ uses these trajectories to choose per-layer K-cache entries that remain in high precision according to output- and attention-level behavior metrics, while applying standard low-bit value quantization. Across LLaDA and Dream evaluations on GSM8K, HumanEval, MATH, and MBPP, dLLM-KVQ achieves the highest average score among quantized methods across the reported 4-bit and 2-bit prefix/dual cache settings.

EgoHTR: Egocentric 4D Demonstrations of Human Terrain Traversal

Alex Brandes, Haig Conti Georges Sajelian, Manthan Patel, Dominik Hollidt, Chenhao Li, Matthias Heyrman, Oliver Hausdoerfer, Manuel Kaufmann 等 14 位作者

Deploying humanoid robots in unstructured terrain remains an open problem. While classic reinforcement learning struggles with the sheer complexity of real-world interactions, more promising methods leveraging human priors remain limited to models lacking contextual awareness. The restricted motion synthesis is a direct consequence of existing dataset pipelines failing to capture human-scene sequences in challenging environments. To bridge this gap between humanoid learning and scene reconstruction, we introduce the Egocentric Human-Terrain Reconstruction (EgoHTR) dataset. We develop and open-source a reconstruction pipeline capturing 55 scene-aligned 4D human motion sequences in diverse, complex environments using a multi-sensor setup of egocentric wearables and a portable 3D scanner. The resulting dataset comprises over 150k frames, which we evaluate against motion-capture ground truth, demonstrating state-of-the-art accuracy and establishing a rigorous benchmark for human motion analysis and synthesis. Further, we leverage this data to train perceptive locomotion policies, demonstrating hardware deployment on a Unitree G1 for reconstructed reference motions. Our pipeline enables community-driven dataset extensions and factors the problem to help researchers build foundational, context-aware robots that reliably traverse uneven terrain.

PathCowork: Learning from real-world pathology practice to build AI copilots

Medical AI learns from the answers doctors record, but rarely from how they interpret the evidence to reach them. Here we introduce PathCowork, a framework that turns pathologists' narrated examinations into supervision for visual grounding and procedures that guide diagnostic AI agents. Synchronized gaze, narration and navigation link visual findings to the process of interpreting them. Across 48 sessions from 16 pathologists, the platform captured 1,028 minutes of slide review. Using these data, we trained PathCowork-1T for server deployment and PathCowork-27B for local deployment, with improved visual grounding. Across five organ-specific evaluations, agents combining this grounding with recorded diagnostic procedures achieved primary task scores averaging 17.9 and 24.1 percentage points higher than Claude Code and Codex, respectively, with shorter processing times and lower inference costs. Compared to the state-of-the-art multiple-instance learning AIs, the PathCowork agent-proposed regions achieved higher prostate-grading scores with limited slide labels. PathCowork can also help construct pathology AI benchmarks where questions derived from the recordings identified difficulties in recognizing viewing context and rejecting inapplicable premises. In summary, PathCowork proposes a new paradigm to scale up the data collection and train pathology AI through transparent reasoning from diagnostic sessions, opening a path towards systems that learn directly from routine clinical practice.

AnyMo: Scaling Any-Modality Conditional Motion Generation with Masked Modeling

Yiheng Li, Zhuo Li, Ruibing Hou, Yingjie Chen, Hong Chang, Hao Liu, Shiguang Shan

Conditional human motion generation remains a fundamental challenge in computer vision and robotics. Despite significant progress, current methods are often constrained by fixed modality configurations and task-specific architectures, leaving cross-modal interactions and the scaling laws of multimodal-conditioned synthesis largely underexplored. A key bottleneck is the scarcity of large-scale modality-aligned motion data, limiting generalization across diverse control signals. In this work, we introduce OmniHuMo, a large-scale, high-quality dataset comprising over 5,000 hours of motion and 3.2 million sequences with precisely aligned multimodal annotations (e.g., text, speech, music, and trajectory). Leveraging OmniHuMo, we propose AnyMo, a unified multimodal framework combining a Residual FSQ-based motion tokenizer with a scalable masked modeling transformer, enabling high-quality motion synthesis under arbitrary modality combinations. Extensive experiments show that AnyMo achieves high-fidelity synthesis while offering flexible control over both spatial and stylistic attributes.

Energy-Efficient Memristor Accelerator for Depression Detection with a CNN-LSTM Hybrid Model

Jiaqi Liu, Yun Yu, Fenglin Xi, Shenjian Zhang, Shenghao Liao, Wenze Zheng, Mingxuan Hu, Yangbin Chen 等 10 位作者

Early screening of depression requires efficient analysis of audio and speech data, while conventional CPU and GPU platforms incur high latency and energy consumption for CNN-LSTM inference. To address this challenge, we propose a unified resistive RAM (ReRAM) processing-in-memory accelerator for a CNN-LSTM attention workload. The architecture integrates convolutional, recurrent, attention, and multi-layer perceptron (MLP) stages within a crossbar-based framework, reducing intermediate data movement between spatial and temporal branches. CNN operations are mapped through im2col-based vectorization, while LSTM gate computations are reformulated using concatenated input-state vectors and mapped onto ReRAM crossbars. We further provide module-level workload breakdown, parameter sensitivity analysis, and matched-workload context against representative ReRAM/PIM accelerators. Experimental results show 32.1 times and 9.3 times latency reduction over CPU and GPU baselines, respectively, with about 160 times and 140 times energy reduction. Simplified weight-perturbation tests characterize ASLF sensitivity in an untrained pipeline with synthetic spectrogram-shaped inputs. Task-level prediction accuracy and robustness remain to be evaluated.

Utility-WAM: Correcting Future-Induced Action Changes

Feihong Zhang, Xi Lin, Yulong Shi, Zuxing Lu, Yanghong Mei, Zhaopeng Gu, Tingyu Yuan, Zihao Liang 等 10 位作者

World Action Models (WAMs) can condition robot actions on generated visual futures, but this additional context is neither cost-free nor uniformly beneficial. We examine what a predicted future actually changes: the action delta $Δa$ between the future-conditioned and future-free execution paths of the same model. Under a shared WAM checkpoint, this delta barely shifts average benchmark success ($+0.8$ points on LIBERO, $-0.8$ on RoboTwin~2.0), while generating visual futures increases inference latency by 1.7--1.9$\times$. These aggregate metrics conceal a concentrated failure mode that we term \emph{future-induced negative transfer}: while predictive deltas benefit long-horizon tasks ($+2.4$ points on LIBERO-Long) and remain negligible on most routine manipulations, they induce severe degradation on precision tasks---with \emph{Press Stapler} and \emph{Place Can Basket} losing 54.0 and 34.0 points, recurring as top failure modes across independently trained WAM variants. We introduce \textbf{Utility-WAM} for in-place correction of future-conditioned control. Its primary learning component is a residual adapter that repairs future-induced velocity deltas under a frozen shared WAM by aligning them with ground-truth dynamic guidance and penalizing excess error beyond the future-free baseline. The adapter selectively eliminates the majority of severe task drops (reducing losses to 6.0 and 14.0 points) while preserving long-horizon foresight. To eliminate superfluous video computation, a lightweight pre-generation gate reuses counterfactual action outcomes to selectively bypass video generation on 75.5\% of RoboTwin queries, cutting latency by 38\% while improving average success to 93.3\% on RoboTwin~2.0 and 98.9\% on LIBERO. On physical bimanual manipulation across three real-world tasks, Utility-WAM succeeds in 53 of 60 trials, compared to 43 for FAST-WAM.

Multidimensional Online Resource Allocation for Large Language Model Services under Nonstationary Demand

Hao Wang, Zihao Li, Zhenzhen Yan

We study multidimensional online generalized assignment under nonstationary arrivals, motivated by resource allocation for large language model agent services. Providers may commit model and tool allowances to agent tasks upon admission, reserving budgets for their internal execution loops. Each request is rejected or accepted with an irrevocable assignment to one compatible server, earning reward and consuming a vector of its nonreplenishing budgets. Arrivals are independent with known, potentially time-varying type distributions. Scalar reductions can discard feasible combinations of requests with complementary resource requirements. To maximize expected reward, we develop Vector-Aware Best-Fit, which combines linear-programming-guided candidate routing with calibrated acceptance while retaining vector feasibility. Relative to the expected clairvoyant offline optimum, its guarantee improves on scalar reduction in the multidimensional case and has the best possible inverse-dimensional order. With an appropriate acceptance parameter, the proposed policy attains the optimal competitive ratio on all-heavy instances, where every feasible assignment consumes more than half of at least one resource budget. We further develop two heuristics that retain its performance guarantee. Computational results show that the heuristics perform well against benchmarks in most tested settings, especially when capacity is scarce relative to demand.

Unlimited OCR Works 2

Shu Wei, Jingjing Wu, Qunyi Xie, Lingshu Zhang, Xiangcheng Du, Yannian Fu, Mengjie Wang, Zuyi Wang 等 12 位作者

Unlimited OCR ushers the era of long-horizon parsing, substantially mitigating the growth of working memory as document lengthens. However, as document length scales to hundreds of pages, the visual context grows substantially, sharply increasing the computational cost of each decoding step and limiting the scalability of ultra-long document parsing. Inspired by human book transcription via localized focus without re-scanning preceding pages, we introduce Unlimited OCR 2, a document parsing model that looks only at what it transcribes. Building on Unlimited OCR, we upgrade all the decoder attention modules to Sparse Reference Sliding Window Attention (SR-SWA), bounding active reference tokens to a fixed capacity and thus sustaining constant computational costs across arbitrarily long documents. By combining SR-SWA with Unlimited-Horizon Decoding Paradigm, Unlimited OCR 2 enables document parsing over virtually unlimited lengths without prohibitive memory overhead. At the hundred-page scale, Unlimited OCR 2 achieves 7.0$\times$ and 5.6$\times$ per-step speedups over Full Attention and R-SWA, respectively. Furthermore, it delivers state-of-the-art end-to-end performance on both MPDocBench and MarathonDocBench, our newly proposed benchmark targeting hundred-page document parsing. Ultimately, the capacity for uninterrupted, one-shot document parsing signifies a fundamental paradigm shift into the OCR 3.0 era.

WorldFlow: Joint Video and 3D Motion Prediction via Large-Scale Pretraining

Yuhao Lu, Jiongxu Chen, Hexiang Wei, Jiajin Wu, Juelin Li, Mingjian Liang, Fan Yang, Zhuowei Liang 等 12 位作者

Predicting future physical states stands as a central challenge in embodied intelligence. Existing video world models leave 3D dynamics implicit, action-based formulations remain tied to specific robot configurations, and 3D motion prediction models use flow-only supervision, providing a limited learning signal for physical dynamics. To circumvent these limitations, we introduce \method{}, a generative world model that jointly predicts future video and query-based 3D trajectories. By parameterizing 3D motion as continuous displacement tokens aligned with the video grid, a unified Mixture-of-Transformers (MoT) backbone jointly denoises both modalities under a rectified-flow objective. This formulation couples explicit geometric dynamics with visual evolution, effectively unlocking the physical commonsense embedded within pretrained video models. To empirically scale and validate this unified architecture, we train \method{} on a heterogeneous mixture of 1.44 million object-level samples spanning simulated and real-world domains. We further introduce WorldFlowBench, comprising 1,678 evaluation samples from 11 data sources across simulated and real-world interactions, including spatial reasoning tasks. Across all three evaluation sets, WorldFlow achieves the lowest average displacement error (ADE) and final displacement error (FDE) among the evaluated learning-based methods. Notably, on the challenging SpatialCog set, WorldFlow achieves an ADE of 0.060 m, a 54.2\% reduction compared with the strongest external baseline. It also reduces ADE and FDE by 55.9\% and 68.5\%, respectively, compared with its flow-only variant. Project page: https://worldflow-rbs.github.io/.

SemMSA: Latent Semantic-Aided Robust Multimodal Sentiment Analysis with Incomplete Data

Wenhao Li, Zhibin Wu, Chong Xiao, Qiangchang Wang

Recent research on Multimodal Sentiment Analysis (MSA) has focused on learning from language, visual, and acoustic modalities with incomplete data to infer human sentiment. Most studies typically compensate for missing information by reconstructing modality features or designing complicated fusion mechanisms. However, these methods still suffer from spurious generation and noisy guidance due to the lack of high-level semantic grounding in partially observed multimodal evidence. To address these issues, we propose SemMSA, a latent semantic-aided framework that constructs rich sentiment-relevant semantics with LLMs, fully integrating with all modalities via anchor-free spectral alignment. It mainly consists of Cross-modal Semantic Refinement (CSR) and Cross-modal Spectral Alignment (CSA). Specifically, CSR first adaptively extracts visual and acoustic representations by corresponding adapters to form a unified multimodal prefix with language in the frozen LLM embedding space. It then iteratively produces continuous discriminative semantic states through a token-efficient latent refinement process without decoding explicit text. Next, CSA simultaneously aligns the refined semantics with all modalities by enhancing the dominant spectral component of their kernel Gram matrix. This captures global nonlinear dependencies among all representations without relying on a predefined anchor modality. In addition, an instance-level spectral separation constraint preserves cross-sample discriminability and mitigates representation collapse. Extensive experiments on SIMS, MOSI, and MOSEI benchmarks demonstrate that SemMSA achieves state-of-the-art performance.

VETime: Vision Enhanced Zero-Shot Time Series Anomaly Detection

Yingyuan Yang, Tian Lan, Yifei Gao, Yimeng Lu, Xuming An, Wenjun He, Meng Wang, Chenghao Liu 等 9 位作者

Time-series anomaly detection (TSAD) requires identifying both immediate Point Anomalies and long-range Context Anomalies. However, existing foundation models face a fundamental trade-off: 1D temporal models provide fine-grained pointwise localization but lack a global contextual perspective, while 2D vision-based models capture global patterns but suffer from information bottlenecks due to a lack of temporal alignment and coarse-grained pointwise detection. To resolve this dilemma, we propose VETime, the first TSAD framework that unifies temporal and visual modalities through fine-grained visual-temporal alignment and dynamic fusion. VETime introduces a Reversible Image Conversion and a Patch-Level Temporal Alignment module to establish a shared visual-temporal timeline, preserving discriminative details while maintaining temporal sensitivity. Furthermore, we design an Anomaly Window Contrastive Learning mechanism and a Task-Adaptive Multi-Modal Fusion to adaptively integrate the complementary perceptual strengths of both modalities. Extensive experiments demonstrate that VETime significantly outperforms state-of-the-art models in zero-shot scenarios, achieving superior localization precision with lower computational overhead than current vision-based approaches. Event2Reward: Learning Robotic Rewards from Progress Relations

Junnan Nie, Zitian Fan, Jiachen Zhang, Junyi Lao, Likui Zhang, Chenghao Liu, Xiaoyang Lu, Yunbo Wang 等 17 位作者

Learning task progress from robot demonstrations provides a practical way to construct dense shaping rewards for robotic reinforcement learning. A common approach uses normalized demonstration time as progress labels, implicitly assuming monotonically increasing task progress. During policy exploration, however, actual task progress can stall or even regress. Such models may mistake regressions for progress, assigning positive shaping rewards to actions that cause progress loss. Real suboptimal and failed executions offer corrective experience, but assigning absolute progress values to their states is difficult. Our key observation is that stalls, regressions, and recoveries establish local relative progress relations even when absolute progress is unknown. We introduce Event2Reward, which uses normalized temporal labels to anchor the progress scale and these within-trajectory relations to constrain local changes, combining absolute and relative progress supervision. Its progress predictions serve as potentials for reward shaping. We curate an event-annotated dataset from approximately 100K raw real-robot execution records, covering successful, suboptimal, and failed executions, without requiring framewise absolute progress labels. Under the same training budgets, Event2Reward improves average policy success by 18.16 percentage points over a baseline using only sparse task rewards across 40 tasks in four LIBERO suites. On real robots, average success after 30 minutes of wall-clock training reaches 60.0% on three precise insertion tasks and 90.0% on three object manipulation tasks, exceeding the sparse-reward baseline under the same budget by 36.7 and 23.3 percentage points, respectively. Ablation studies further show that absolute progress supervision and relative progress relations are complementary, with joint supervision yielding better downstream policy learning.

Proposing Better Rollouts for On-Policy Distillation

Sirui Chen, Yunzhe Qi, Haobo Xu, Jiaru Zou, Mengting Ai, Zihao Li, Jingrui He

On-policy distillation (OPD) improves language-model post-training by letting the student learn from its own sampled trajectories under teacher supervision, aligning the training process with inference-time behavior. However, the rollout policy in OPD is usually treated as fixed: each round samples directly from the current student. We show that this choice can create a compounding teacher--student mismatch, because it requires the teacher to provide effective supervision on whichever trajectories the student samples, including ones less reachable by the teacher itself. On such trajectories, teacher supervision can become noisy or even misleading, leading to undesirable student patterns such as repetition. Moreover, since the updated student in turn defines the rollout policy of subsequent rounds, these patterns persist and potentially amplify over training. This failure mode suggests that improving OPD requires treating the rollout policy itself as an optimization target, rather than only modifying the distillation objective. We propose Mixture Proposal On-Policy Distillation (MPOPD), which derives a student-anchored, teacher-guided rollout distribution from a local trust-region objective based on relative teacher support. The resulting target is a geometric mixture of the student and teacher policies, and we introduce a proposal policy that approximates this mixture, enabling rollout generation in a single forward pass. Experiments on 16 math, knowledge, and medical reasoning benchmarks show consistent gains over OPD and recent variants. On math reasoning, our method improves average accuracy by 6.91 over OPD on Qwen3-4B-Base while reducing average generation length by 41%, suggesting that rollout policy design provides an effective way to improve OPD.

Spectroscopic diagnostics provide rich information for characterizing plasma states in tokamak fusion experiments, while existing learning-based approaches are often designed for individual tasks and rely heavily on labeled data. In this work, we propose SpectralTF-MAE, a self-supervised spectral foundation model for tokamak plasma diagnostics. The model is pretrained on paired charge-exchange recombination spectroscopy (CXRS) and X-ray crystal spectroscopy (XCS) measurements through masked spectral reconstruction. To better capture diagnostically important spectral structures, we introduce a peak-aware masking strategy together with a peak-enhanced reconstruction objective, encouraging the model to focus on characteristic spectral regions. A shared Transformer encoder is employed to learn transferable representations across different diagnostic modalities. The pretrained model is further adapted to several downstream tasks, including plasma-parameter prediction, cross-diagnostic spectral generation, and spectral peak analysis. Experiments on EAST diagnostic data demonstrate that the proposed framework achieves competitive performance across different tasks and consistently benefits from self-supervised spectral pretraining. These results indicate the potential of SpectralTF-MAE as a general and transferable representation learning framework for plasma spectroscopic diagnostics.

CALM: Conflict-Aware Lifecycle Memory Governance for Long-Horizon Language Agents

A memory can be outdated for present-day reasoning yet indispensable for reconstructing the past. Relevance-based retrieval overlooks this tension: semantic relevance, evidence-grounded validity, and query-specific eligibility are distinct. We propose CALM, a conflict-aware lifecycle memory governance framework that decouples persistent memory preservation from query-time admission. CALM converts heterogeneous records into evidence-grounded memory cells, updates validity and lifecycle states using support, conflict, and dependency signals, and admits query-appropriate evidence through training-free or learned gating informed by temporal applicability. Across LongMemEval-S and LoCoMo with Qwen and GPT backbones, CALM outperforms state-of-the-art baselines, achieving the best overall accuracy. Compared with simple filtering and reranking, query-conditioned admission further improves evidence selection. Conflict-blocking and robustness analyses show CALM suppresses erroneous retrieved memories while retaining useful evidence. Historical-reconstruction experiments demonstrate that preserving superseded records supports accurate earlier-state reasoning without compromising current-state answers.

Predict the Reward, Not the World: World Reward Models for ML Agents

Yuxiao Lee, Zherui Yang, Fan Liu, Hao Liu

Search-based machine-learning (ML) agents improve a solution by writing candidate programs, executing them, and keeping the best. Execution gives the search reliable feedback, but a single run can take hours, and most runs end in programs the agent discards. Recent agents try to save these runs by letting a large language model act as a world model that predicts how each program would perform. However, a wrong prediction feeds the search false information. We argue that an agent does not need to predict the outcome of execution, only the decision that execution would support. We propose World Reward Models (WRMs), which learn from real execution results to choose directly which candidate will perform better, without predicting any intermediate outcome. We prove that a selector which predicts execution from the same inputs cannot outperform the best direct selector, that predicted outcomes add an error which can make a likelihood-trained world model prefer the worse program on every instance, and that cross-entropy on executed winners drives a WRM toward the optimum. Our WRM, ForeCritic, adapts a 9B typed decision model to 5k executed program pairs. On 12,438 held-out pairs from 26 ML tasks, it picks the better program 79.4% of the time, while general-purpose LLM judges reach 53--62%, and its probabilities are calibrated. Inside AIDE, ML-Master, and ForeAgent, it cuts mean task time by 4.4--7.5 times while keeping their mean scores within 0.01 or raising them.

Investor's Last Exam: Can AI Agents Do Equity Investment Without Seeing the Future?

Financial agents must form forecasts and investment judgments from decision-time evidence, with predictions evaluated against subsequent outcomes. Existing benchmarks assess financial knowledge, research workflows, or forecasting, but evaluating the full research process requires a strictly frozen information set and professional evaluation criteria. We introduce Investor's Last Exam (ILE), an equity-research benchmark led by experienced buy-side investors and fund managers. Its three components are a versioned financial database spanning 3.43 million document versions and nine source categories, supplemented by structured market data, with validated timestamps governing retrieval and computation; a task taxonomy organized around professional analyst deliverables; and an expert-led framework linking scoring criteria to sources, calculations, and assumptions through financial dependency graphs. Evaluation spans 86 assignments and jointly assesses research quality, forecast accuracy, and simulated investment performance. GPT-6 Astra and Claude Opus 5.5 lead overall at 68.1 and 66.9 out of 100, yet even Astra scores only 52.5 on Forecast & Model. Our results show that even state-of-the-art models fail to translate overall research capability into predictive performance. ILE shifts the evaluation unit from isolated capabilities to the evidence--assumption--judgment chain, allowing researchers to locate where analytical advantages fail to translate into forecasts and investment judgments, and providing a traceable, diagnostic foundation for training and evaluating financial agents.

Tackling Multimodal Learning Challenges with Mixture-of-Expert: A Survey

Liangwei Nathan Zheng, Wenhao Liang, Wei Emma Zhang, Lin Yue, Weitong Chen

Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) presents a naturally compatible and scalable framework for multimodal learning, demonstrating strong adaptability across diverse modalities and tasks. Despite its growing success, a comprehensive and systematic review on the MoE metho addressing multimodal challenges remains lacking. Existing surveys tend to evaluate either multimodal learning or MoE independently from method taxonomy, overlooking the unique interplay between them. This survey fills that gap by answering a central question: \textit{How does MoE effectively resolve multimodal challenges?} We approach this from three key perspectives: (1) \textbf{MoE as an Efficient Multimodal Engine:} enabling scalable multimodal modeling by decoupling computational cost from parameter growth and mitigating modality redundancy through selective expert activation; (2) \textbf{MoE as a Multimodal Representation Learner:} integrating complementary multi-opinion expert knowledge to enrich alignment and interaction representations; and (3) \textbf{MoE as a Multimodal Adapter:} providing a modular and flexible mechanism to model imperfect data scenarios such as modality imbalance and missing modality. Through our extensive literature review, we identify critical research gaps, including interpretable routing, expert communication, modality integration, and lifelong multimodal learning. We position this survey as a foundation for future research toward interpretable and sustainable multimodal Mixture-of-Experts system.

Spatial Supervision Without Attribution Optimization: Improving Post-Hoc Class Activation Maps via Box-Guided Evidence Routing

Wenhao Liang, Liangwei Nathan Zheng, Lin Yue, Wei Emma Zhang, Mingyu Guo, Weitong Chen

Post-hoc class activation maps (CAMs) are a standard tool for inspecting the evidence behind an image classifier's predictions, yet nothing in ordinary training encourages these maps to be spatially appropriate. We study whether inexpensive spatial supervision can improve a classifier's own predicted-class Grad-CAM without ever optimizing an attribution map. Box-Guided Evidence Routing (BGER) trains a lightweight gate on the final feature map under box or mask supervision and routes classification through the gated features, while Grad-CAM is computed separately at the pre-gate representation, so the evaluated map never enters the training objective. With a BCE routing loss, BGER raises MaxBoxAccV2 from $0.584$ to $0.715$ on CUB-200-2011 and from $0.757$ to $0.832$ on Stanford Dogs at comparable accuracy. Matched controls attribute most of the ResNet-50 gain to the spatial supervision reshaping the backbone rather than to routing itself: when classification bypasses the gate, most of the improvement remains, and detaching gradients through the gate leaves the ResNet-50 result nearly unchanged. The same detachment preserves most of the gain in two DenseNet-121 chest X-ray settings but removes the apparent gain on Swin-T, and directly supervising the CAM reaches stronger localization at a larger accuracy cost. Overall, spatial supervision can improve separately evaluated post-hoc CAMs, but both the mechanism and the size of the benefit depend on the architecture and the evaluation setting.

Dual Exam: Controlled Evaluation of Multimodal Agents and World Models

Zhefan Rao, Meng Chu, Xuan Billy Zhang, Jingfan Chen, Guohao Cai, Runyi Li, Shiyi Du, Xu Huang 等 92 位作者

World Models (WMs) can support Multimodal Agents (MAs) through simulated experience, while Agent trajectories can inform World Model refinement. Evaluating this interaction requires separate evidence about action selection and state evolution. We introduce Dual Exam, which tests Agents under fixed environment response mechanisms and World Models under fixed action interventions across physical, digital, social, and scientific domains. The Agent track compares 10 configurations on 1,088 items in 15 reporting categories. The World Model track contains 400 cases across eight scenarios; 15 configurations have full coverage and one covers six scenarios. GPT 6 Astra leads the case-weighted Agent Index at 31.3, and GPT-Image-2 leads the full-coverage WM Overall at 21.7. These scores use different tasks and metrics and are not directly comparable. A 150-case pilot of one coupled pairing records zero task successes and motivates component-level diagnosis. Results reveal uneven task performance and failures to preserve task-relevant state. Their value for predicting coupled success or sustained reciprocal learning remains to be established.

Encounter-Driven City-Scale Human Mobility Generation with Large Language Models

Chao Li, Renhe Jiang, Chuan Xiao, Jiawei Wang

Large language models (LLMs) have shown strong potential for human mobility generation by modeling individual routines, activities, and mobility preferences. However, existing approaches remain largely resident-centric: generating realistic individual trajectories does not necessarily recover the encounters that emerge when multiple residents co-occur at the same place and time. To this end, we study encounter-aware human mobility generation, which jointly preserves individual mobility and population-level interaction structure. We propose EncounterMob, an encounter-driven LLM framework consisting of a coarse-to-fine Encounter Generator and an Iterative Coupling Framework. The Encounter Generator first captures city-level encounter rhythms and then instantiates participant-time-venue encounters, while the Iterative Coupling Framework coordinates these encounters with personal mobility behavior through successive refinement. We further introduce an encounter recovery protocol covering encounter marginal and joint distributions over residents, times, and venues. Experiments on the Japan and NYC datasets show that EncounterMob outperforms all external baselines on all seven encounter metrics and all six personal mobility metrics. Compared with ELLMob, it reduces the participant-time-venue joint error by 40.4%/41.7% and the mean personal mobility error by 58.8%/32.7% on Japan/NYC, respectively.

S$^2$-MAS: A Society-Scale Multi-Agent Simulation Framework with a 500-Million-Persona Resource

Simulating economic responses at society scale requires decision rules that respond to household circumstances and accounting rules that track their consequences. We introduce S$^2$-MAS, a multi-agent simulation framework with a resource of 500 million synthetic household personas. It combines trainable candidate-scoring policies, reusable financial scenarios and explicit state transitions. Trained with SFT + RLCD on 2.93 million examples, YN-mini-MLX achieves 74.55% accuracy and 38.37% question-macro F1 on held-out consumer financial-choice tasks, improving on the training-question majority baseline by 2.78 and 6.21 percentage points. A completed application evaluates 12 million distinct households in two purchase-funding conditions: 24 million one-shot choices feed 288 million monthly ledger states in 3 h 59 min on 14 GPUs. Jointly increasing purchase goals and approved limits produces heterogeneous consumption, cash and repayment paths, with much of the consumption variation arising from transitions between deferral and purchase. In a separate 1,060-household retrospective consumption experiment, standalone YN-master-9B has 3.42% lower annual MAE than the deterministic fully rational benchmark, alongside a 19.7% lower predicted population mean than observed. Information-timing tests show how year labels and later outcome information change decisions. Together, these experiments establish an executable alternative for studying heterogeneous household behavior with learned policies and explicit financial accounting.

ATI-OPD: Adaptive Teacher Intervention for Stable Long-Sequence On-Policy Distillation

Jiannan Guan, Youxin Jiang, Yutai Hou, Qiguang Chen, Yirong Zeng, Haitao Wang, Dengyun Peng, Zheng Yan 等 12 位作者

On-policy distillation (OPD) trains a student on its own responses using token-level feedback from a teacher. As responses grow longer, the student's prefix can depart from the teacher's own reasoning, weakening its feedback on later tokens. Updates based on this feedback can reinforce the same deviations in later responses and destabilize training. Prior approaches such as length control and loss reweighting limit learning from problematic responses but leave their prefixes unchanged. Fixed cutoffs can also discard later reasoning. We propose \textbf{Adaptive Teacher Intervention for On-Policy Distillation (ATI-OPD)} to improve subsequent teacher guidance by revising the student's reasoning prefix. ATI-OPD replaces the earliest high-disagreement segment with a short teacher segment, then lets the student resume its own reasoning from the revised text. To handle renewed disagreement, it excludes persistently divergent suffixes from the distillation loss while retaining useful student continuation. Training diagnostics show less teacher-student disagreement, fewer gradient spikes, and fewer extremely long responses. Across five mathematical reasoning benchmarks and two teacher-student pairs, ATI-OPD improves average student-only accuracy over standard OPD.
