原文摘要

Drug discovery requires continuous scientific decision-making across a vast research space. We introduce PharmAgents2, an autonomous system for end-to-end drug discovery that combines knowledge-enhanced decision-making with organized large-scale exploration. Paper2Skill extracts transferable scientific decision knowledge from public sources and, together with expert-developed skills, supports research decisions. Self-Scaling Discovery expands exploration through parallel agents inheriting research context and decision-making capabilities across targets, scientific hypotheses, and discovery strategies. We introduce PharmAgents-Bench v0.1, comprising 121 questions across nine decision scenarios and three end-to-end tasks assessed with expert-defined process rubrics. PharmAgents2 outperforms evaluated baselines in most decision categories and achieves the highest process scores on all three end-to-end tasks. In three real-world studies, autonomous investigations generated findings subsequently supported by human-executed experiments. For LpxH, PharmAgents2 hypothesized a previously unreported allosteric site and screened compounds against it, identifying a novel inhibitor scaffold with experimentally confirmed inhibitory activity and binding. For JAK1, it prioritized a covalent inhibition strategy and nominated compounds with experimentally demonstrated activity. Starting from a known bioactive molecule, Self-Scaling Discovery explored candidate targets across the proteome and identified a new binding target, with the interaction subsequently confirmed experimentally. PharmAgents2 represents a prototype of a virtual pharmaceutical company, marking a step toward autonomous end-to-end drug discovery.

NeoWorld-Pro: Programming Interactive Scenes from Monocular Images for Embodied Simulation

Yumeng He, Eachen Soong, Xiaotian Yang, Weijia Zhang, Zanwei Zhou, Junru Gong, Xiaokang Yang, Yunbo Wang

原文摘要

The advancement of Embodied AI necessitates high-quality simulation assets that faithfully mirror the real world. However, transforming raw visual observations into simulation-ready scenes remains challenging due to the lack of physical grounding and scene-level interactivity in current image-to-URDF methods. We propose NeoWorld-Pro, a framework that reformulates monocular scene reconstruction as procedural programming for interactive 3D environments. Leveraging the zero-shot reasoning and code synthesis capabilities of MLLMs, NeoWorld-Pro converts a single RGB image into executable programs specifying object geometry, articulation, and physical properties. A physics-in-the-loop mechanism then iteratively refines the generated programs by validating their execution in a physics engine, enforcing physically plausible articulations, valid object compositions and interactions, and accurate spatial relationships. Experiments show that NeoWorld-Pro outperforms open-loop and prior monocular reconstruction methods, while enabling complex downstream tasks such as stable stacking and fine-grained manipulation.

The Physical Cost of Context: Quality-Constrained Resource Accounting for Coding Agents

Zhongming Yu, Yitong Ma, Hengjia Yu, Boqin Yuan, Xiangye Lin, Hejia Zhang, Jishen Zhao

原文摘要

Coding agents resend a growing context on every model call, and context policies are usually judged by the prompt tokens they save. Executed work also depends on call count and prefix reuse: a caching runtime prefills only the tokens after the longest cached prefix. A shorter prompt can therefore cost more if it rewrites cached history. Our quality-gated protocol splits executed prefill into logical prompt minus reused prefix and measures KV residency, time, and energy. On 450 localization cases derived from SWE-rebench V2, preloading ten retrieved blocks (Eager) and adding anchored history compaction (Compact) both pass a five-point non-inferiority gate. In a separate 900-cell study, Eager cuts model calls by 35.7% and the GPU-energy proxy by 33.2% against on-demand search (Grep); Compact saves nothing further. Enabling prefix caching leaves Eager's prompt volume similar (+8.3%; its 95% CI spans zero) but cuts its uncached prefill by 67.7%. Deleting history can turn a token saving into extra work. With mini-SWE-agent on 100 SWE-bench Verified instances, keeping only the last five observations (Mask-5) cuts Eager's prompt volume by 33.3% but loses 135.9k reusable tokens per task. Uncached prefill rises by 608.5%, the energy proxy by 125.6%, and the policy misses the quality gate. Policies thus save physical work by shortening the trajectory and can multiply it by editing reusable history.

T$^2$-Splat: Adaptive Topology Mesh Splatting with Texture Residuals

Zhihao Tang, Youjia Zhang, Mingbo Zhao, Wei Yang

原文摘要

Triangle-based splatting connects novel view synthesis with conventional graphics pipelines, but often requires excessive tessellation to preserve appearance details. We present T$^2$-Splat, which decouples topology adaptation from appearance refinement. Safe Restricted Delaunay Triangulation (Safe RDT) initializes mesh connectivity. Dynamic Topology Evolution (DTE) then adapts triangle allocation through edge collapse and vertex split operations. Residual per-face Mip-textures then refine appearance on the fixed mesh using scale-adaptive filtering. Experiments on Mip-NeRF 360, Tanks & Temples, and DTU demonstrate competitive results with compact meshes. T$^2$-Splat improves PSNR by 0.71dB over MeshSplatting on Mip-NeRF 360. Additional compression experiments demonstrate flexible control of mesh complexity, supporting face budgets as low as 10% of the original face count. Project page: https://t2-splat.github.io/.

Ab Initio Accuracy Beyond the Cutoff: Distributed Message-Passing Equivariant Attention at Tens-of-Millions-of-Atom Scale

Allex Kan, Ji Zhang, Hao Yin, Hao Li, Owen Fu, Xunxing Chen, Lin Huang, Zion Wang 等 13 位作者

原文摘要

Molecular dynamics predicts molecular motion from atomic forces and trajectory integration. Density functional theory (DFT) provides first-principles forces, but its $O(N^3)$ cost limits simulations to thousands of atoms; empirical force fields scale to millions but miss bond breaking and charge transfer. Equivariant message-passing Transformers learn the ab initio potential at linear cost. Stacked layers propagate information beyond a single cutoff, giving four layers a receptive field up to 23Å. At this frontier, scale is limited by communication: layers exchange boundary features across devices, force backpropagation repeats the exchange, and moving atoms change neighbor graphs and tensor shapes. We present Tessera, a distributed runtime that fixes workload shapes between rebuilds. It sorts atoms along a space-filling curve into equal-count shards, ensuring identical atom counts and tensor shapes per rank. Peer sets scale as $K^{0.5}$, not $K$. A conservative neighbor skin preserves topology across updates, enabling each rebuild interval to replay as one CUDA Graph. Fused kernels, three-level neighbor search, and overlapped All-to-All complete it. On 512 GPUs, Tessera sustains 30.7M atoms at 89.7% weak-scaling efficiency (77--90% across three per-GPU loads); per-step time rises 1.11--1.29x as machine and problem grow 16x. Graph reuse cuts full-step time $1.87\times$. Across an $8\times$ device increase, neighbor-search cost grows $1.7\times$, versus $3.0\times$ for Morton order. In a live $10.24$M-atom salt solution, NVE energy drift is $0.42\,μ$eV/atom/ps over $10$ ps, and structure matches a serial reference. A 10.06M-atom Norovirus capsid sustains 100 ps of NVT at $\approx 8$ ps/day on 256 A100 GPUs. Over 200,000 steps, it has no broken bonds or anomalously close pairs and uses three compiled variants, with no graph breaks or eager fallbacks.

ReactWorld: Structuring Interaction Responses for Embodied Video Generation

Hanwei Liu, Huijia Zhang, Hanzhang Wang, Guangyu Liu, Hanbei Zhan, Linjie Hu, Bin Xiao, Xuan Zhou 等 9 位作者

原文摘要

Embodied video world models predict scene changes caused by robot actions, yet generated object responses may remain inconsistent with task intent and contact dynamics. Critical responses in embodied scenes often concentrate in local regions and specific time intervals. Inspired by chain-of-thought reasoning, we introduce ReactWorld, an embodied video generation model guided by structured interaction anticipation. In the generation backbone's feature space, an interaction response field predictor anticipates how the interaction will unfold, explicitly describing participant roles, future motion response intensity, and local motion changes. A response feedback adapter forms increments to object features from the difference between the object branch's outputs with predicted and zeroed local dynamics inputs. It also converts predicted displacements into positional biases for temporal attention. These two mechanisms guide object feature updates and information retrieval across frames, respectively. Through interaction anticipation and generative feedback, ReactWorld achieves an average score of 77.51 on RBench, outperforming PhysisForcing by 3.29 points with improvements in all nine categories. On EZS-Bench, it achieves a Domain score of 86.98 and an average score of 81.87.

Backpropagation-Free Test-Time Adaptation via Probabilistic Gaussian Alignment

Youjia Zhang, Youngeun Kim, Young-Geun Choi, Hongyeob Kim, Huiling Liu, Sungeun Hong

原文摘要

Test-time adaptation (TTA) enhances the zero-shot robustness under distribution shifts by leveraging unlabeled test data during inference. Despite notable advances, several challenges still limit its broader applicability. First, most methods rely on backpropagation or iterative optimization, which limits scalability and hinders real-time deployment. Second, they lack explicit modeling of class-conditional feature distributions. This modeling is crucial for producing reliable decision boundaries and calibrated predictions, but it remains underexplored due to the lack of both source data and supervision at test time. In this paper, we propose ADAPT, an Advanced Distribution-Aware and backPropagation-free Test-time adaptation method. We reframe TTA as a Gaussian probabilistic inference task by modeling class-conditional likelihoods using gradually updated class means and a shared covariance matrix. This enables closed-form, training-free inference. To correct potential likelihood bias, we introduce lightweight regularization guided by CLIP priors and a historical knowledge bank. ADAPT requires no source data, no gradient updates, and no full access to target data, supporting both online and transductive settings. Extensive experiments across diverse benchmarks demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance under a wide range of distribution shifts with superior scalability and robustness.

原文摘要

World models allow agents to anticipate action consequences, but proactive assistance also requires interpreting incomplete observations and deciding whether to intervene before a user asks for help. We propose See-Foresee-Act and instantiate it as the Proactive Intent World Model (PIWM) for retail assistance. See preserves role-relevant observable evidence alongside AIDA-BDI customer states; Foresee predicts one-step consequences for candidate actions; Act explicitly compares those consequences, including non-intervention. GuidanceSalesBench supplies predominantly synthetic supervision linking observations, states, candidate outcomes, and decisions. On 509 Full test examples, consequence-based selection achieves 63.65% decision accuracy, compared with 45.38% for direct decision output, an improvement of 18.27 percentage points. These results support candidate-consequence comparison for decision reasoning in this retail task. Code and data will be released after consent verification and upon publication.

原文摘要

Intraoperative frozen-section diagnosis of central nervous system (CNS) lesions guides surgical decisions but is challenged by artefacts, diagnostic complexity and time constraints. Most pathology foundation models have limited exposure to CNS frozen tissue. Here we present FOCUS, a subspecialty foundation model pretrained on 27,930 frozen-section whole-slide images enriched for CNS tissue. FOCUS ranked first across all 11 diagnostic and 12 biomarker-prediction tasks in the internal test cohort, achieving mean AUCs of 0.969 and 0.877, respectively. This advantage was retained in the temporal and external test cohorts. We further organized a WHO-aligned diagnostic hierarchy, where FOCUS also outperformed comparator models. In a reader study, FOCUS assistance enabled junior readers to approach or exceed unassisted senior readers in hierarchical diagnostic accuracy and granularity. More importantly, FOCUS assistance enabled readers to correctly identify a mean of 63.0% of initially missed lymphoma cases (73.2% among junior readers), potentially avoiding unnecessary extensive resection. These findings highlight the potential of FOCUS to provide clinically actionable support for intraoperative CNS pathology and inform surgical decisions.

Width and Depth Limits Commute During Training in Linear Residual Networks

Ruijia Zhang, Soufiane Hayou

原文摘要

Recent work established that the infinite-width and infinite-depth limits of residual networks commute at initialization when residual branches are scaled by $1/\sqrt{depth}$. In particular, the network output converges to the same limit whether width and depth tend to infinity sequentially or jointly. We extend this commutativity result to training in linear residual networks. Under the same $1/\sqrt{depth}$ residual-branch scaling (Depth-$μ$P) and the $μ$P width parameterization, we prove that, for any fixed number of gradient-descent steps with gradient clipping, the network output converges in $L^2$ along every joint width--depth growth path as both width and depth tend to infinity. Consequently, the infinite-width and infinite-depth limits commute throughout any finite training horizon. Without gradient clipping, the corresponding $L^2$ convergence does not hold in general, but we establish the weaker convergence in probability.

TimeWorld: Towards Action-Conditioned Multimodal World Models for Time Series Forecasting

Hang Ni, Weijia Zhang, Hao Liu

原文摘要

Time series forecasting supports decision-making in web applications such as online retail and network management, where planned actions can reshape future dynamics. World models provide a natural paradigm for predicting such action-dependent changes beyond extrapolating historical patterns. However, existing time series world models (TSWMs) typically rely on fixed, domain-specific covariate schemas that limit flexible intervention specification, while multimodal forecasters treat text primarily as passive predictive context. To investigate these gaps, we introduce TSWM-Bench, a cross-domain benchmark for multimodal TSWMs spanning seven real-world datasets, with textual interventions grounded in recorded action--outcome data. Our evaluation reveals that conventional multimodal forecasters underperform history-only time series foundation models (TSFMs) despite dataset-specific training, whereas simple text-prefix adaptations improve forecasting across all evaluated TSFM backbones. These findings suggest that pretrained TSFMs encode implicit world knowledge of temporal dynamics, offering a strong foundation for action-conditioned modeling beyond conventional multimodal fusion. Building on this insight, we propose TimeWorld, a plug-in framework that adapts pretrained TSFMs through explicit action-response modeling. Specifically, the Prototype-Guided Latent Modulation (PLM) module grounds textual actions in temporal dynamics by composing representative response prototypes to modulate future representations based on the action and historical patterns. The Action Contrastive Learning (ACL) component strengthens action-specific response modeling by contrasting these updates under alternative interventions sharing the same history, distinguishing action types while preserving relative intensity relationships.

XPress: Parallel Refinement for Diffusion Drafters in Speculative Decoding

Zheng Wang, Davis Wertheimer, Yu Chin Fabian Lim, Mudhakar Srivatsa, Raghu K. Ganti, Minjia Zhang, Naigang Wang

原文摘要

Block-diffusion drafters like dFlash generate an entire block of draft tokens in a single forward pass, drastically reducing the overhead of multiple-token drafting in speculative decoding. The crucial final step of the single-pass discrete denoising process involves using the logit distribution at each position to sample conditionally independent tokens. The resulting draft is thus a set of per-position marginals, rather than a joint distribution: no draft token is guaranteed to depend on its predecessors. Such independently sampled marginals tend to produce sequences with tokens that are individually likely, but jointly improbable under the target model's distribution, which verifies each token conditionally. This can cause early rejection and limits acceptance length. To address this, we propose xPress as a means to restore the missing causality in diffusion drafters. xPress is a lightweight causal refiner that reconciles the whole diffusion block at once through parallel refinement, restoring and propagating causal dependencies across the draft without a token-by-token loop. On Qwen3-8B, across seven math, code, and chat benchmarks, xPress raises acceptance length by about 30% on average (up to +56%) and its end-to-end decoding throughput by about 1.3 on average (up to 1.7) compared to the original dFlash diffusion drafter.

Understanding and Mitigating Bias Inheritance in LLM-based Data Augmentation on Downstream Tasks

原文摘要

Generating synthetic datasets via large language models (LLMs) has emerged as a promising approach to improve LLM performance. However, LLMs inherently reflect biases in their training data, leading to a critical challenge: when models are trained on synthetic data, they may propagate and amplify the inherent biases that can significantly impact fairness and robustness on downstream tasks—a phenomenon we term bias inheritance. This work presents the first systematic investigation in understanding, analyzing, and mitigating bias inheritance. We fine-tune LLMs with a combined dataset of real and LLM-augmented data with varied bias ratio as the proportion of augmented data. Through systematic experiments across 10 classification and generation tasks, we analyze how 6 different types of biases manifest. Our results indicate that bias inheritance harms downstream task performance in bias directly-related classification and generation tasks. Then, our analysis identifies three key misalignment factors: misalignment of values, group data, and data distributions. Based on these insights, we propose three mitigation strategies: token-based, mask-based, and loss-based approaches, which can work differently on various tasks and bias, indicating the substantial challenges to mitigate bias inheritance. We hope this work can provide insights to the research of LLM data augmentation.

Interleaved Tool-Call Reasoning for Protein Function Understanding

Chuanliu Fan Soochow University, Zicheng Ma, Huanran Meng Soochow University, Aijia Zhang, Wenjie Du, Jun Zhang, Ziqiang Cao Soochow University, China, Guohong Fu Soochow University, China,

原文摘要

Recent advances in large language models (LLMs) have highlighted the effectiveness of chain-of-thought reasoning in symbolic domains such as mathematics and programming. However, our study shows that directly transferring such text-based reasoning paradigms to protein function understanding is ineffective: reinforcement learning mainly amplifies superficial keyword patterns while failing to introduce new biological knowledge, resulting in limited generalization. We argue that protein function prediction is a knowledge-intensive scientific task that fundamentally relies on external biological priors and computational tools rather than purely internal reasoning. To address this gap, we propose Protein Function Understanding Agent (PFUA), a tool-augmented protein reasoning agent that unifies problem decomposition, tool invocation, and grounded answer generation. Instead of relying on long unconstrained reasoning traces, PFUA integrates domain-specific tools to produce verifiable intermediate evidence. Experiments on four benchmarks demonstrate that PFUA consistently outperforms text-only reasoning models with an average performance improvement of 103%. We believe PFUA has the potential to become a standard paradigm for agentic reasoning in knowledge-intensive life science domains.

原文摘要

Agents based on large language models (LLMs) struggle with brainless trial-and-error and generating hallucinatory actions due to a lack of global planning in long-horizon tasks. In this paper, we introduce a plan-and-execute framework and propose EAGLET, an efficient and effective planner training method to enhance the executor agent’s planning abilities without human effort. Specifically, we train a plug-and-play global planner through a two-step process: we first synthesize high-quality plans from an advanced LLM using our proposed homologous consensus filtering strategy, and apply fine-tuning as a cold start. Moreover, we further improve the planner with a rule-based reinforcement learning stage using a novel executor capability gain reward, ensuring it can handle task instructions of varying difficulty. Experiments on three long-horizon agent tasks show that executor agents equipped with our planner outperform existing methods, achieving new state-of-the-art performance. Meanwhile, EAGLET reduces training costs by 8× compared to RL-based baselines, and it does not require manual effort or extra training data, offering an efficient and effective solution.

原文摘要

Large language models (LLMs) have precipitated a dramatic improvement in the legal domain, yet the deployment of standalone models faces significant limitations regarding hallucination, outdated information, and verifiability. Recently, LLM agents have attracted significant attention as a solution to these challenges, utilizing advanced capabilities such as planning, memory, and tool usage to meet the rigorous standards of legal practice. In this paper, we present a comprehensive survey of LLM agents for legal tasks, analyzing how these architectures bridge the gap between technical capabilities and domain-specific needs. Our major contributions include: (1) systematically analyzing the technical transition from standard legal LLMs to legal agents; (2) presenting a structured taxonomy of current agent applications across distinct legal practice areas; (3) discussing evaluation methodologies specifically for agentic performance in law; and (4) identifying open challenges and outlining future directions for developing robust and autonomous legal assistants.

原文摘要

Recent progress in large language models (LLMs) has led to impressive performance on a range of tasks, yet advanced instruction following (IF)—especially for complex, multi-turn, and system-prompted instructions—remains a significant challenge. Rigorous evaluation and effective training for such capabilities are hindered by the lack of high-quality, human-annotated benchmarks and reliable, interpretable reward signals. In this work, we introduce AdvancedIF, a comprehensive benchmark featuring over 1,600 prompts and expert-curated rubrics that assess LLMs’ ability to follow complex, multi-turn, and system-level instructions. We also open-source the evaluation script of AdvancedIF. We further propose RIFL (Rubric-based Instruction-Following Learning), a novel post-training pipeline that leverages rubric generation, a finetuned rubric verifier, and reward shaping to enable effective reinforcement learning for instruction following. Extensive experiments demonstrate that RIFL substantially improves the instruction-following abilities of LLMs, achieving a 6.7% absolute gain on AdvancedIF and strong results on public benchmarks. Our ablation studies confirm the effectiveness of each component in RIFL. This work establishes rubrics as a powerful tool for both training and evaluating advanced IF in LLMs, paving the way for more capable and reliable AI systems.
