Cross-Domain Few-Shot Segmentation (CD-FSS) aims to segment objects from unseen domains using only a few annotated references. Recent Segment Anything Model (SAM)-based methods have advanced CD-FSS, yet their reference-target visual matching is highly sensitive to target appearance variations. SAM3 introduces text-conditioned segmentation, enabling natural-language descriptions to guide segmentation across target images, but directly using the category name as the condition still yields unstable performance under severe domain shifts. We propose Reference Inversion for SAM3 (RI-SAM3) that leverages SAM3's large-scale vision-language pre-training to learn suitable textual tokens for each target category. RI-SAM3 comprises three core designs: (i) Bi-level Reference Inversion that learns complementary tokens before and after the frozen text encoder: the former remain anchored in SAM3's text space while the latter represent the category more flexibly; (ii) Layer-adaptive Textual Conditioning combines these tokens differently as object queries evolve across decoder layers; and (iii) Presence-aware Confidence Supervision that jointly supervises query confidence and target presence for reliable predictions. With SAM3 frozen, RI-SAM3 optimizes around 12K parameters only per category and it efficiently segments each target in a single forward pass with reusable textual conditioning without per-sample reference-target visual matching. Extensive experiments over multiple widely adopted benchmarks show that RI-SAM3 achieves superior performance consistently in CD-FSS tasks, together with strong robustness, efficiency, and generalization.

Despite recent advances in Video Large Language Models (Vid-LLMs), Temporal Video Grounding (TVG) targeting precise localization of time segments of query events remains a grand challenge. Recent studies attempt to address this challenge by matching two separate tokens to all frame features and identifying the start and end frames of events based on the highest matching similarities. However, this approach relies heavily on the exact start and end timestamps, which are often ambiguous without capturing the semantic continuity and integrity of the event. To this end, we design E.M.Ground, a temporal grounding Vid-LLM that tackles the TVG challenge from a holistic and coherent event perception perspective. E.M.Ground introduces three novel designs: (i) It introduces a special <evt> token that aggregates information from all frames of query events with varying lengths, thereby preserving semantic continuity and integrity for accurate event matching. (ii) It introduces Savitzky-Golay smoothing to suppress the noise and abrupt changes in token-to-frame similarities across adjacent timestamps, thereby improving prediction accuracy. (iii) It aggregates multi-grained frame features to enhance the reliability of token-to-frame matching and improve temporal understanding, thereby compensating for the compression-induced information loss. Extensive experiments on widely adopted TVG benchmarks, along with in-depth analyses, demonstrate that E.M.Ground achieves strong overall performance, with the most pronounced improvements on single-event grounding and boundary-integrity tasks.

Existing hierarchical text classification (HTC) methods typically use prompt tuning or contrastive learning to inject the label hierarchy into a model as prior knowledge to implicitly learn label embeddings for classification. However, such implicit learning fails to accurately reflect label geometry (i.e., feature spatial distribution of label embeddings), as it does not model hierarchy-aware geometric relations among labels. To address this issue, we propose a novel two-stage label geometry structuring and aligning framework, termed LGSA, which transforms the label hierarchy from an implicit prior into an explicit embedding. First, we propose a hierarchical geometric structuring (HGS) module that leverages a general orthogonal frame (GOF) to reconstruct an explicit label geometry conforming to the label hierarchy. The label geometry is then treated as a label prototype to guide model training. To facilitate the guidance, we thereby propose a hierarchical geometric aligning (HGA) module as a regularization term to align label geometry learned by the model with the explicit label prototype. Experiments on three real-world HTC datasets confirm that LGSA consistently outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods.
