AI 速览:GUI-AC提出一种持续强化微调框架,通过优势与策略概率联合刻画grounding rollout并引入grounding certainty,以针对性优化探索与过度自信问题。
Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) serve as the dominant medium for human-computer interaction, yet building GUI agents that generalize across the vast diversity of real-world interface environments, with the same flexibility and robustness that humans naturally exhibit, remains unsolved. Notably, GUI data are inherently non-stationary: the continual emergence of previously unseen interface instances (e.g., novel domains and resolutions) induces persistent distribution shifts, significantly impeding the continual learning of existing GUI agents. Reinforcement fine-tuning (RFT) has attracted considerable attention as a promising approach. Nevertheless, RFT exhibits pronounced instability in its grounding capability, where rollout outcomes are highly imbalanced and fixed clipping can suppress valuable exploration. More importantly, policy probability alone does not reveal the semantic role of a grounding prediction. To address these challenges, we propose GUI-AC, a continual RFT framework that jointly characterizes grounding rollouts through advantage and policy probability. This yields a four-region view of grounding behavior and enables targeted optimization of Exploration and Overconfidence. GUI-AC further introduces grounding certainty to support two core mechanisms: (i) Adaptive Advantage, which strengthens the negative correction for overconfident grounding failures; and (ii) Dynamic Clipping, which relaxes the upper clipping bound for exploratory grounding rollouts. Extensive experiments show that GUI-AC consistently outperforms state-of-the-art baselines. Code is available at https://anonymous.4open.science/r/GUI-AC-Code.
Small-molecule identification from tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) may require complementary measurements. Herein, we propose a structure-informed deep Q-network (SI-DQN) that uses existing MS/MS evidence to decide whether further characterization is needed, which measurement to request, and when to stop. The policy combines spectral representations and candidate rankings with score-weighted descriptors of the candidates' chemical features and structural differences. The policy was evaluated on 79,462 held-out samples with simulated MS/MS, infrared (IR), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra from the Multimodal Spectroscopic Dataset. Evaluation used fixed hard candidate sets containing the correct structure and equal normalized acquisition costs. Averaged across three training runs, SI-DQN increased Top-1 accuracy from 80.10% to 93.78% for positive-ion MS/MS starts and from 70.44% to 93.31% for negative-ion starts. The corresponding mean additional measurement counts were only 0.227 and 0.340 per sample, respectively. Complete acquisition achieved 97.72% accuracy with four additions, whereas SI-DQN reduced the additional measurement count by 94.3% and 91.5%. Relative to a rule-based policy, SI-DQN reduced the composite loss combining terminal ranking error and acquisition cost by 19.3% and 25.5%. Adding structural information to DQN further improved accuracy while reducing requests across all three training runs. At comparable ranking uncertainty, SI-DQN increased request rates relative to DQN more strongly in groups with high structural disagreement, where larger reductions in composite loss were also observed. Together, these results support using the ambiguity among candidate structures after MS/MS analysis to guide further characterization, providing a quantitative basis for balancing identification performance against subsequent measurement effort.

Experimental protocols in organic synthesis specify not only the intended transformation but also an executable sequence of operations and conditions. While recent language models show strong chemistry knowledge, widely used evaluations remain less diagnostic of procedure-level decision making. In this setting, correctness requires consistent step ordering, feasibility under stated conditions, faithful entity-role grounding, and schema-parseable outputs that can be automatically validated against operational constraints. We present ChemReason-Bench, a human-validated benchmark for verifiable experimental procedure reasoning built on a structured representation with explicit placeholders and a unified schema, enabling automatic checks of many operational constraints. From 500 reactions, we instantiate 7306 benchmark tasks across six complementary formats: ordering, step validation, condition validation, schema-constrained completion, contrastive choice, and evidence-grounded rationalization. We further release a large-scale instantiation of the same templates for downstream adaptation studies, kept disjoint from the evaluation set. Using a unified evaluation protocol, we benchmark diverse open-source, proprietary, and domain-specific models and observe clear variation across the capability surface. We also report controlled adaptation experiments in the appendix, where supervised fine-tuning improves small models, preference optimization adds limited gains in our setting, and a gap remains to the strongest evaluated systems.

Taxonomy Completion aims to automatically integrate new concepts into existing hierarchies. However, existing text-only methods suffer from a ”Sensory Gap”: they struggle to differentiate ambiguous definitions (e.g., Latte vs. Cappuccino) and miss visual grouping signals. Consequently, they often misinterpret lexical overlaps as hierarchical dependencies, leading to erroneous structural predictions. To bridge this, we propose VITC, a framework leveraging Visual Injection for Taxonomy Completion. By mapping synthesized images into intrinsic pseudo-tokens, we enable the text encoder to perform holistic structural reasoning. To address injection challenges, we introduce Adaptive Residual Fusion, which decouples magnitude from selection to prevent visual signals from being drowned out, and the Multimodal Guided Adaptive Reweighting strategy, which leverages cross-modal consensus (Mutual Rescue and Complementary Mining) to filter noise and identify hard negatives. Experiments on three datasets demonstrate that VITC achieves state-of-the-art performance, delivering an average absolute gain of over 19% in Hit@1. Despite extensive safety alignment, Large Language Models (LLMs) often fail against jailbreak attacks. While machine unlearning has emerged as a promising defense by erasing specific harmful parameters, current methods remain vulnerable to diverse jailbreaks. We first conduct an empirical study and discover that this failure mechanism is caused by jailbreaks primarily activating non-erased parameters in the intermediate layers. Further, by probing the underlying mechanism through which these circumvented parameters reassemble into the prohibited output, we verify the persistent existence of dynamic jailbreak paths and show that the inability to rectify them constitutes the fundamental gap in existing unlearning defenses. To bridge this gap, we propose Jailbreak Path Unlearning (JPU), which is the first to rectify dynamic jailbreak paths towards safety anchors by dynamically mining on-policy adversarial samples to expose vulnerabilities and identify jailbreak paths. Extensive experiments demonstrate that JPU significantly enhances jailbreak resistance against dynamic attacks while preserving the model’s utility.

Despite strong results on many tasks, multimodal large language models (MLLMs) still underperform on visual mathematical problem solving, especially in reliably perceiving and interpreting diagrams. Inspired by human problem-solving, we hypothesize that the ability to extract meaningful information from diagrams is pivotal, as it directly conditions subsequent inference.Hence, we introduce FlowVerse, a comprehensive benchmark that provides a fine-grained evaluation of MLLMs’ perception and reasoning capabilities. Our preliminary results on FlowVerse reveal that existing MLLMs exhibit substantial limitations when extracting essential information and reasoned properties from diagrams and performing complex reasoning based on these visual inputs. In response, we introduce MathFlow, a modular problem-solving pipeline that decouples perception and inference into distinct stages, thereby optimizing each independently. Given the perceptual limitations observed in current MLLMs, we trained MathFlow-P-7B as a dedicated perception model.Experimental results indicate that MathFlow-P-7B yields substantial performance gains when integrated with various closed-source and open-source inference models. This demonstrates the effectiveness of the MathFlow pipeline and its compatibility with diverse inference frameworks. Project page: https://github.com/MathFlow-zju/MathFlow.
