AI 速览:PIVOT 将教师生成的纠正片段插入学生 rollout,并对这些片段施加 token 级 KL 监督,与 RLVR 目标联合训练,以缓解困难推理任务中稀疏奖励无学习信号的问题。

Reinforcement learning from verifiable rewards (RLVR) is limited by sparse outcome-level feedback on hard reasoning tasks: when all rollouts in a group fail, rewards provide no learning signal. Stronger teachers can provide additional guidance, but this raises a central question: how can such signals be incorporated into RLVR to support successful rollouts while remaining learnable for the student? We distinguish two complementary mechanisms: trajectory-level intervention, which improves access to reward-bearing trajectories, and token-level supervision, which provides dense targets to guide student learning. Our controlled experiments show that either mechanism alone can remain insufficient, motivating their combination. We therefore introduce PIVOT, which inserts teacher-generated corrections into student rollouts and applies token-level KL supervision to these segments alongside the RLVR objective. Beyond their combination, we systematically analyze where to intervene and how to supervise, yielding a recipe for effective guidance. Across hard logic games and mathematical reasoning benchmarks, PIVOT consistently outperforms existing methods, nearly doubling mean avg@8 on logic games from 19.5% for the best-performing baseline to 35.6%.

Cross-Primitive Consistency in Jev

Xu Liu, Guikun Chen, Kanzhi Wu, Wenguan Wang

Jev enables efficient decision-making with large language models (LLMs) through typed querying primitives, allowing the same semantic state to be expressed in different formats, such as binary and multiple-choice queries. However, the consistency of decisions across primitives has not been systematically evaluated. This work introduces PrimaCons, a four-axis benchmark for assessing cross-primitive consistency while preserving the semantics of the query. Evaluations across three Jev sizes reveal consistency violations across all four axes. Our analysis shows that these violations follow systematic patterns and that cross-primitive discrepancies predict decision failure with a ROC-AUC of 0.91. To mitigate these inconsistencies, we propose the Cross-Primitive Residual Calibrator (CPRC), which attaches a lightweight residual network to a frozen backbone and jointly optimizes predictive accuracy and cross-primitive consistency. Under a leave-one-domain-out protocol, CPRC reduces cross-primitive inconsistency by 58.57% and improves accuracy by +2.97%., demonstrating its effectiveness in both in-domain and out-of-domain settings. Our findings establish cross-primitive consistency as a key dimension for evaluating Jev and provide a practical approach to improving the reliability of its decisions. Code and benchmark is available at https://github.com/67L1/PrimaCons-CRPR.

Observation Quality in DSM-Assisted Aerial Localization: A Benchmark and Base-Anchored Uncertainty Calibration

Pengyu Yin, Jie Pan, Junxiang Tan, Mengqi Fu, Kun Cheng, Yifan Liu

Aerial map matching provides position observations for navigation, but a position error alone does not determine how an observation should be weighted. We define five benchmark tasks: position availability and agreement, grouped error structure, predictive uncertainty, controlled updates, and temporal accumulation. We use digital-surface-model-assisted localization to test whether base-anchored uncertainty calibration improves the weighting of unchanged position estimates. The method combines propagated image and map sensitivities with the second moment of a compact configuration subset relative to the reported position. Scale is fitted using separate position references without local surface-height ground truth. Thirteen covariance models are evaluated on two held-out query sets from locations represented in the calibration data. Using reference residuals, we compare the method with a constant full-matrix baseline. With all localization failures included, the method reduces the normalized position-update risk, averaged equally across locations, by 7.70% on 728 conditions and 5.46% on a separate 142 conditions under an independent prior. On the primary set, the equal-location average negative log likelihood on reference residuals improves by 2.571 nat. At these seen locations, exploratory base-only quality calibration and conditional-addition controls leave the incremental update benefit of configuration disagreement unresolved. Navigation benefit and real temporal accumulation remain untested.

Multi-Agent Relay Thinking

Xu Liu, Jungang Qiao, Guikun Chen, Xiaojuan Qi, Wenguan Wang

Existing multi-agent collaboration (MAC) methods have primarily explored a group thinking collaboration topology, where agents independently generate solutions and aggregate their outputs. In this work, we investigate an alternative relay thinking topology, where reasoning ownership is dynamically transferred across agents, allowing subsequent agents to inherit and refine an evolving reasoning trajectory. We introduce Multi-Agent Confidence-guided Relay (MACR), a framework that enables dynamical relay collaboration among agents. The key challenge is determining when reasoning should be relayed and which agent should continue the process. method addresses this challenge through confidence-guided relay triggering and a bidding mechanism that selects the next agent based on its confidence. Experiments on four benchmarks show that method outperforms the strongest single-model strategies in accuracy, e.g., +3.3% on MathVista and +3.9% on MMStar, and remains on par with multi-agent strategies while consuming 6.0x less token overhead on HallusionBench and MMStar. Further analysis demonstrates that relay collaboration enables heterogeneous agents to progressively integrate complementary insights, combining heterogeneous capabilities across reasoning stages. Our source code is available at https://github.com/67L1/MACR.

Unlocking Multilingual Reasoning Capability of LLMs and LVLMs through Representation Engineering

Qiming Li, Xiaocheng Feng, Yixuan Ma Harbin Institute of Technology, Ruihan Chen, Zihe Tong Harbin Institute of Technology, Zekai Ye Harbin Institute of Technology, Xiachong Feng University of Hong Kong, Libo Qin Central South University 等 13 位作者

Large Language Models (LLMs) and Large Vision-Language Models (LVLMs) demonstrate strong reasoning capabilities, yet their performance in English significantly outperforms that in low-resource languages, raising fairness concerns in multilingual applications. Existing approaches either rely on costly multilingual training or employ prompting with external translation tools, both of which are resource-intensive and sensitive to translation quality. To address these limitations, we propose a training-free inference-time method to enhance Multilingual Reasoning capabilities via Representation Engineering (MRRE) without using any additional training data or tools. MRRE sequentially injects two precomputed vectors at specific layers during inference processing: cross-lingual reasoning enhancement vectors, which steer non-English reasoning representations toward English space to unlock multilingual reasoning, and target-language output anchoring vectors, which restore the distribution of the target language to preserve input–output language consistency. Comprehensive experiments across six advanced LLMs and LVLMs on four reasoning benchmarks demonstrate that MRRE consistently enhances non-English reasoning by an average gain of 5.48% and up to 7.54% in low-resource languages (e.g., Thai and Swahili), while improving input-output language consistency by 3.78%.

MPR-GUI: Benchmarking and Enhancing Multilingual Perception and Reasoning in GUI Agents

Ruihan Chen, Qiming Li, Xiaocheng Feng, Weihong Zhong Harbin Institute of Technology, Xiaoliang Yang Harbin Institute of Technology, Yuxuan Gu Harbin Institute of Technology, Zekun Zhou Harbin Institute of Technology, Yunfei Lu Huawei Technologies Ltd. 等 12 位作者

Large Vision–Language Models (LVLMs) have shown strong potential as multilingual Graphical User Interface (GUI) agents, as evidenced by existing GUI benchmarks. However, these benchmarks exhibit two primary limitations: (1) although Perception and Reasoning (P R) capabilities are fundamental for GUI agents, current benchmarks lack fine-grained diagnostics to identify which specific capabilities lead to task failures, hindering targeted improvements; (2) existing benchmarks fail to provide a strictly aligned cross-lingual evaluation environment, introducing confounding factors that prevent isolating the language impact on GUI agent performance. To address these issues, we propose the Multilingual P R GUI Benchmark (MPR-GUI-Bench), featuring strictly aligned environments across six languages and eight fine-grained P R tasks. Our benchmark reveals consistent P R gaps between English and non-English settings, particularly on reasoning-intensive tasks. To leverage the superior English P R capabilities for bridging cross-lingual gaps, we identify layers sensitive to language and propose GUI-XLI, a GUI Cross-Lingual Intervention method that aligns non-English hidden states with their English counterparts at these layers during inference. Experiments show that GUI-XLI effectively reduces the cross-lingual gaps, with an average gain of 6.5% in non-English settings.

Detecting RAG Extraction Attack via Dual-Path Runtime Integrity Game

Yuanbo Xie, Yingjie Zhang, Yulin Li, Shouyou Song, Xiaokun Chen Stanford University, Zhihan Liu, Liya Su, Tingwen Liu Institute of Information Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems augment large language models with external knowledge, yet introduce a critical security vulnerability: RAG Knowledge Base Leakage, wherein adversarial prompts can induce the model to divulge retrieved proprietary content. Recent studies reveal that such leakage can be executed through adaptive and iterative attack strategies (named RAG extraction attack), while effective countermeasures remain notably lacking. To bridge this gap, we propose CanaryRAG, a runtime defense mechanism inspired by stack canaries in software security. CanaryRAG embeds carefully designed canary tokens into retrieved chunks and reformulates RAG extraction defense as a dual-path runtime integrity game. Leakage is detected in real time whenever either the target or oracle path violates its expected canary behavior, including under adaptive suppression and obfuscation. Extensive evaluations against existing attacks demonstrate that CanaryRAG provides robust defense, achieving substantially lower chunk recovery rates than state-of-the-art baselines while imposing negligible impact on task performance and inference latency. Moreover, as a plug-and-play solution, CanaryRAG can be seamlessly integrated into arbitrary RAG pipelines without requiring retraining or structural modifications, offering a practical and scalable safeguard for proprietary data.
