Novel view synthesis (NVS) in degraded scenes aims to reconstruct 3D scenes from multi-view observations affected by various degradations, and to generate clear and photorealistic images at unseen viewpoints. Despite recent advances, existing methods often rely on degradation-specific models, limiting their generalization across diverse extreme environments. Generative models provide rich visual priors, but their outputs often suffer from pixel misalignment and color deviations, which can propagate into the reconstructed 3D scene and compromise reconstruction quality. Furthermore, the high computational and memory costs of 3D reconstruction hinder the practical application of NVS in extreme environments. To this end, we propose MLLM-GS, a multimodal large language model (MLLM) prior-guided framework for fast NVS in extreme environments. MLLM-GS consists of two branches: MLLM prior-guided view enhancement and fast 3D scene reconstruction. The former leverages the rich visual priors of a frozen MLLM to enhance views under different severe degradations and introduces a lightweight correction network to reduce pixel shifts and color distortions in MLLM outputs. With supervision from only a few paired clean views, this branch produces reliable enhanced views for all degraded observations, providing pseudo-GT views for subsequent 3D reconstruction. The latter improves 3DGS efficiency by optimizing rasterization, Gaussian memory layout, and parameter updates, reducing redundant computation, memory-access overhead, and optimization costs. Extensive experiments on multiple degraded scenes demonstrate that MLLM-GS effectively handles various severe degradations and achieves high-quality NVS with significantly lower reconstruction time and memory consumption. Multimodal Emotional Reappraisal (MER) aims to shift affective interpretation by rewriting and editing a situation without altering its underlying semantic context. Despite advances in controllable editing and sentiment transfer, MER remains challenging under coupled multimodal constraints, especially in internet memes where images, embedded text, and layout jointly encode affective meaning. To bridge this gap, we present MER-Bench, a systematic benchmark for MER on image-text memes, containing over 3,000 real-world memes with fine-grained annotations for emotion transformation and structure-preserving multimodal editing. MER-Bench spans diverse visual, textual, and structural settings and is paired with a structured MLLM-as-a-Judge evaluation suite, comprising eight fine-grained metrics and three aggregated objectives for emotional alignment, content fidelity, and transformation strength. Extensive evaluation of 14 advanced multimodal models reveals that: (1) current models struggle to jointly balance affect, semantics, structure, and text; (2) strong visual editing does not imply effective MER, with poor embedded text rendering and affect-aware rewriting remaining key bottlenecks. Our results identify MER as a critical capability gap in current multimodal generation systems and highlight affective image-text reasoning as a key challenge for future work. The pursuit of optimal trade-offs in high-dimensional search spaces under stringent computational constraints poses a fundamental challenge for contemporary multi-objective optimization. We develop NeuroPareto, a cohesive architecture that integrates rank-centric filtering, uncertainty disentanglement, and history-conditioned acquisition strategies to navigate complex objective landscapes. A calibrated Bayesian classifier estimates epistemic uncertainty across non-domination tiers, enabling rapid generation of high-quality candidates with minimal evaluation cost. Deep Gaussian Process surrogates further separate predictive uncertainty into reducible and irreducible components, providing refined predictive means and risk-aware signals for downstream selection. A lightweight acquisition network, trained online from historical hypervolume improvements, guides expensive evaluations toward regions balancing convergence and diversity. With hierarchical screening and amortized surrogate updates, the method maintains accuracy while keeping computational overhead low. Experiments on DTLZ and ZDT suites and a subsurface energy extraction task show that NeuroPareto consistently outperforms classifier-enhanced and surrogate-assisted baselines in Pareto proximity and hypervolume.

Deploying expressive learning models directly on programmable dataplanes promises line-rate, low-latency traffic analysis but remains hindered by strict hardware constraints and the need for predictable, auditable behavior. Chimera introduces a principled framework that maps attention-oriented neural computations and symbolic constraints onto dataplane primitives, enabling trustworthy inference within the match-action pipeline. Chimera combines a kernelized, linearized attention approximation with a two-layer key-selection hierarchy and a cascade fusion mechanism that enforces hard symbolic guarantees while preserving neural expressivity. The design includes a hardware-aware mapping protocol and a two-timescale update scheme that together permit stable, line-rate operation under realistic dataplane budgets. The paper presents the Chimera architecture, a hardware mapping strategy, and empirical evidence showing that neuro-symbolic attention primitives can achieve high-fidelity inference within the resource envelope of commodity programmable switches.

Zero-knowledge circuits enable privacy-preserving and scalable systems but are difficult to implement correctly due to the tight coupling between witness computation and circuit constraints. We present zkCraft, a practical framework that combines deterministic, R1CS-aware localization with proof-bearing search to detect semantic inconsistencies. zkCraft encodes candidate constraint edits into a single Row-Vortex polynomial and replaces repeated solver queries with a Violation IOP that certifies the existence of edits together with a succinct proof. Deterministic LLM-driven mutation templates bias exploration toward edge cases while preserving auditable algebraic verification. Evaluation on real Circom code shows that proof-bearing localization detects diverse under- and over-constrained faults with low false positives and reduces costly solver interaction. Our approach bridges formal verification and automated debugging, offering a scalable path for robust ZK circuit development.

Complex Temporal Knowledge Graph Question Answering (TKGQA) involves more than retrieving facts: the timestamp or validity interval of one fact can constrain the search for another, while multiple intervals may jointly determine the answer. Existing single-agent TKGQA methods typically investigate these facts within a single reasoning context, where evidence from different event histories can become interleaved and distractors can misdirect subsequent retrieval. Distributing investigations across agents can separate event-specific evidence into distinct contexts, but effective collaboration must still be learned because question decomposition, subtask investigation, and evidence synthesis are interdependent. To address these limitations, we propose \textbf{Co}-Evolving \textbf{S}elf-Play \textbf{T}imeline \textbf{A}gents (CoSTA), which organizes facts into navigable timelines, delegates investigations to workers, and uses a coordinator to synthesize their original timestamped observations. CoSTA initializes a shared policy through role-conditioned distillation and jointly optimizes both roles through co-evolving self-play with final-answer rewards. Across three benchmarks, CoSTA achieves state-of-the-art overall performance, with particularly strong gains on complex multi-fact questions, while its compact variants outperform the evaluated closed-source LLM agents.
Sparse-view cone-beam computed tomography is widely used for fast, low-dose volumetric imaging and lesion localization in dentistry and image-guided interventions, but it introduces severe artifacts. Feed-forward Gaussian methods transfer the reconstruction cost to training and decode each coordinate from projection-aligned features and neighboring anchors. However, information from the whole scan is written only when the field is constructed and cannot be retrieved during coordinate decoding, leaving the volume inconsistent within the scan. This is a common limitation of such methods: once the field is fixed, decoding uses only local features and reconstruction quality drops substantially. We propose SparseTokenGS, a Gaussian-based method for sparse-view cone-beam computed tomography reconstruction via a reusable token pool. Anchor Token Fusion and Point-Token Attention query this shared pool at the anchors and at the query coordinates, respectively. The local Gaussian prior is retained, and the volume is reconstructed in one forward pass, without per-scan optimization or a projection-domain loss. On three public chest and dental datasets, SparseTokenGS achieves the highest reconstruction performance among the compared methods. On clinical dental scans, reconstruction from only six projections reaches 29.51 decibels in peak signal-to-noise ratio and a structural similarity of 0.842 against the full-view reference, and off-the-shelf tooth-and-pulp segmentation keeps these structures separable for root-canal localization. Experiments on volcanic rock and chicken show performance after same-object adaptation. A reusable token pool gives feed-forward reconstruction a mechanism that keeps scan-wide context available through decoding and can benefit future rapid clinical lesion localization and analysis. Large language model (LLM) agents are extending agent-mediated commerce on the Web from shopping for consumers to operating businesses for sellers. In online-to-offline (O2O) commerce, decisions are issued through Web-based platforms but realized through costly physical execution. Evaluating such agents requires going beyond individual transactions to ask whether decisions made online turn into sustained economic returns. We introduce AutoVend, a benchmark in which one LLM agent manages 20 vending machines across five site types through a Web-based operating interface for 180 simulated days. Its data-grounded simulator combines a shared warehouse, procurement lead times, paid replenishment, inventory expiration, and recurring operating costs. We evaluate five LLM agents against a rule-based inventory-control baseline and diagnose their site coordination, execution, and performance over time. Four of five evaluated LLM agents fall short of this baseline, and returns per dollar of inference cost rank models differently from returns alone. Operational analyses show that gains in individual metrics do not consistently yield stronger economic growth, as inventory and execution costs erode these gains. Trajectory analysis further reveals difficulties in grounding feasible actions, managing inventory commitments, and converting feedback into effective policy revisions.
Streaming 3D perception is well suited to robotics and augmented reality, where long visual streams must be processed efficiently and consistently. Recent recurrent models offer a promising solution by maintaining fixed-size states and enabling linear-time inference, but they often suffer from temporal forgetting over long sequences due to the limited capacity of compressed memories. We propose Mem3R, a streaming 3D reconstruction model with a hybrid memory design that decouples camera tracking from geometric mapping to improve temporal consistency over long sequences. For camera tracking, Mem3R employs an implicit fast-weight memory implemented as a lightweight Multi-Layer Perceptron updated via Test-Time Training. For geometric mapping, Mem3R maintains an explicit token-based fixed-size state. Compared with CUT3R, this design not only significantly improves long-sequence performance but also reduces the model size from 793M to 644M parameters. Mem3R supports existing improved plug-and-play state update strategies developed for CUT3R. Specifically, Mem3R combined with TTT3R reduces absolute trajectory error by up to 39% relative to CUT3R combined with TTT3R on 500- to 1000-frame sequences from the TUM Dynamics dataset. The resulting improvements also extend to other downstream tasks, including video depth estimation and 3D reconstruction. Project page: https://lck666666.github.io/Mem3R/.
Language-aligned and self-supervised visual encoders offer complementary strengths in semantic abstraction and spatial detail. Harnessing this complementarity requires enriching local features while retaining distinctions between semantically related patches. We introduce PAIQ, a patch-aligned semantic injection framework that combines content-based cross-encoder matching with orthogonally constrained residual updates. Using DINOv3 patch features as the spatial base, PAIQ aggregates complementary SigLIP features through joint source allocation and injects the aggregate--base differences through a shared orthogonal transformation Q. This rotation adapts update directions while preserving residual norms and pairwise angles. For fixed projected features, we derive conditions for patch separability under similar semantic aggregates and show that rotation adds a nonnegative separation term over direct interpolation when the aggregate is shared. Only the projection and fusion parameters are trained; both visual encoders and the language model remain frozen, and fusion retains 196 visual tokens. Across diverse language backbones, PAIQ yields broad gains in judge-assessed correctness and reductions in hallucination severity over single-encoder interfaces on image description and visual question answering. On the 2B and 9B Qwen backbones, this compact interface outperforms the strongest evaluated fusion or token-compression baselines by about 2.9 correctness points on average.
The rapid development of mobile imaging and social platforms has led to explosive growth in user-generated content images, making their systematic and comprehensive perceptual assessment increasingly important. Existing image perception benchmarks are typically task-oriented, curating specific scenarios for quality or aesthetic assessment and applying a uniform perceptual criterion across diverse scenarios. This limits their ability to capture the scene diversity and perceptual complexity of real-world UGC images. To address these limitations, we introduce ScenePercept-Bench, a benchmark designed to reflect the distribution of real-world UGC images, comprising 23,100 images across 21 categories and 105 fine-grained scenes. To account for the influence of scene context on human perception, we design a hierarchical, scene-aware annotation protocol, covering visual quality, aesthetic perception, and scene semantics, with 15 attributes in total. Each image is annotated with an overall score, 15 attribute-level scores, and structured explanatory reasoning. Building on this benchmark, we further introduce Scenario-Conditioned Perceptual Alignment, a training framework that tackles the heterogeneity of perceptual criteria across scenarios. SCPA jointly optimizes absolute score prediction, preference ranking, and cross-scenario calibration, preserving the model general perceptual assessment ability while encouraging it to explore and adapt perceptual criteria across different scenarios. Extensive experiments demonstrate that SCPA achieves state-of-the-art performance in UGC image perception and generalizes effectively to established IQA and IAA benchmarks.

Radio frequency fingerprint identification (RFFI) exploits transmitter-specific hardware imperfections as physicallayer identity cues for Internet of Things (IoT) devices, but deep models often degrade across acquisition environments. In multi-antenna reception, antenna topology and frequencyoffset dynamics structure receiver observations, while capturedependent variation distorts target embeddings and misaligns source-trained decision boundaries. This article proposes physicsinformed structure anchoring with capture-aware prototype calibration (PISA-CAPC) to address both representation and decision mismatches. The two stages separate source representation construction from target decision correction. During source training, PISA organizes antenna tokens through a topology-guided graph, conditions propagation on CFO-derived acquisition dynamics, and applies bounded contextual residual suppression to preserve identity evidence. At deployment, unlabeled capture-aware prototype calibration (U-CAPC) estimates capture-local prototypes and recalibrates target decision scores while keeping the representation and source classifier fixed. Thus, calibration uses neither target labels nor target-domain backbone updates. On a measured WiFi benchmark with four receive antennas and ten transmitters, PISA-CAPC achieves a mean target-domain Macro-F1 of 0.9257 under a balanced transductive setting. Component ablations support complementary roles for topology-guided anchoring, CFO-conditioned modulation, reliability-aware token aggregation, contextual suppression, and capture-aware calibration. These results indicate that physically motivated representation learning can be combined with labelfree decision calibration to improve cross-environment RFFI under the evaluated protocol without changing the deployed backbone.

This paper addresses metric 3D reconstruction of indoor scenes by exploiting their inherent geometric regularities with compact representations. Using planar 3D primitives - a well-suited representation for man-made environments - we introduce PLANA3R, a pose-free framework for metric Planar 3D Reconstruction from unposed two-view images. Our approach employs Vision Transformers to extract a set of sparse planar primitives, estimate relative camera poses, and supervise geometry learning via planar splatting, where gradients are propagated through high-resolution rendered depth and normal maps of primitives. Unlike prior feedforward methods that require 3D plane annotations during training, PLANA3R learns planar 3D structures without explicit plane supervision, enabling scalable training on large-scale stereo datasets using only depth and normal annotations. We validate PLANA3R on multiple indoor-scene datasets with metric supervision and demonstrate strong generalization to out-of-domain indoor environments across diverse tasks under metric evaluation protocols, including 3D surface reconstruction, depth estimation, and relative pose estimation. Furthermore, by formulating with planar 3D representation, our method emerges with the ability for accurate plane segmentation. The project page is available at https://lck666666.github.io/plana3r

Large language model-powered code agents are rapidly transforming software engineering, yet the security risks of their generated code have become a critical concern. Existing benchmarks have provided valuable insights, but they fail to capture scenarios in which vulnerabilities are actually introduced by human developers, making fair comparisons between humans and agents infeasible. We therefore introduce SecureVibeBench, a benchmark of 105 C/C++ secure coding tasks sourced from 41 projects in OSS-Fuzz for code agents. SecureVibeBench has the following features: (i) realistic task settings that require multi-file edits in large repositories, (ii) aligned contexts based on real-world open-source vulnerabilities with precisely identified vulnerability introduction points, and (iii) comprehensive evaluation that combines functionality testing and security checking with both static and dynamic oracles. We evaluate 5 popular code agents like OpenHands, supported by 5 LLMs (e.g., Claude sonnet 4.5) on SecureVibeBench. Results show that current agents struggle to produce both correct and secure code, as even the best-performing one, produces merely 23.8% correct and secure solutions on SecureVibeBench.

Accurate assessment of critical thinking is historically limited by the Intention Behavior Gap in psychology: the disconnect between what individuals self-reported disposition and their actual practical behaviors. We try to bridge this gap with MASA (Multi-Agent Scenario-based Assessment), a framework that operationalizes cognitive assessment into an interpretable and interactive multi-agent workflow with Assessment Chain-of-Thought (AsCoT). Validating on both large-scale simulations (N=1,161) and human participants (N=70), we find that MASA aligns better with human expert ratings (r=0.882) than traditional gold-standard inventories (r=0.720), with an average cost of only 0.41 per participant. These results suggest that by shifting from self-report inventory to behavior-grounded dialogue, MASA offers a more accurate, cost-effective, and transparent solution for real-world cognitive evaluation.

The rapid accumulation of software vulnerabilities has outpaced manual remediation, creating an urgent need for Automated Vulnerability Repair (AVR). However, existing methods suffer from syntactic overfitting, mimicking surface forms without understanding the underlying repair logic, and fail to generalize to complex fixes. To transcend these limitations, we propose SeCuRepair, a reliable, scalable, and efficient RL-based AVR framework. By introducing a semantic-aware reward, SeCuRepair optimizes for code semantic equivalence rather than lexical mimicry. Furthermore, SeCuRepair incorporates an expert-aligned reasoning mechanism that explicitly grounds patch generation in a structured diagnosis. Finally, SeCuRepair introduces a difficulty-based curriculum that progressively disentangles the optimization barriers of entangled multi-hunk repairs. Extensive evaluations on a rigorous repository-level split show that SeCuRepair substantially outperforms state-of-the-art baselines, as confirmed by both automatic evaluation and human study.

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is an important learning method that promotes understanding and acquiring practical skills through training learners through a project. However, effective PBL often requires sustained orchestration and collaboration, but existing LLM-based learning tools provide partial assistance without explicitly modeling these roles, and overly comprehensive help provided by LLM can reduce learner autonomy. We propose SimPBL, a multi-agent framework with an orchestrator agent that provides adaptive scaffolding from interaction logs and collaborator agents that support project work through boundary-aware collaboration. We conduct comprehensive evaluation to study the effectiveness of SimPBL, where we observe a 14% improvement in learner examination score. Results from extensive studies further highlights the ability of SimPBL to manage learning behavior and improve learning experience. Generative Search Engines (GSEs) have reshaped information retrieval, and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) emerges to improve the content visibility in GSEs’ responses. Previous methods mainly rely on empirical strategies or query-dependent preferences of GSEs for content optimization. However, they remain limited in effectiveness as they overlook the latent user search demands in queries that drive content retrieval and response generation of GSEs. To address this, we propose Mind Reader, a novel GEO method to effectively improve the content visibility within the generated responses of GSEs through content optimization guided by the extracted latent demands of user search. Specifically, we propose a decomposition-recombination query augmentation module, which enriches the query with latent semantic information by decomposing it into diverse perspectives, capturing underlying semantic information, and recombining them into variants to support subsequent optimization. Then, we propose a reasoning coverage content optimization module. By optimizing content to cover critical reasoning information of GSEs, we align the content with the user search demands, effectively improving the content visibility. Extensive experiments on widely used GEO-Bench and our proposed PC-GEO show that our method significantly outperforms baselines and effectively improves content visibility (with up to 2.44x objective metrics and 1.23x subjective metrics on average).

We present SemanticQA, an evaluation suite designed to assess language models (LMs) in semantic phrase processing tasks. The benchmark consolidates existing multiword expression (MwE) resources and reorganizes them into a unified testbed. It covers both general lexical phenomena, such as lexical collocations, and three fine-grained categories: idiomatic expressions, noun compounds, and verbal constructions. Through SemanticQA, we assess LMs of diverse architectures and scales in extraction, classification, and interpretation tasks, as well as sequential task compositions. We reveal substantial performance variation, particularly on tasks requiring semantic reasoning, highlighting differences in reasoning efficacy and semantic understanding of LMs, providing insights for pushing LMs with stronger comprehension on non-trivial semantic phrases. Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) scales capacity via conditional computation, but Transformers lack a native knowledge lookup primitive. We introduce conditional memory, instantiated via Deep Sparse Embedding (DSE), which indexes a massive embedding table using local n-grams for retrieval. We formalize sparsity allocation problem—how to split a fixed parameter budget between MoE experts and DSE memory—and find a U-shaped scaling law that identifies an optimal balance. Scaling to 27B parameters, DSE outperform an iso-parameter and iso-FLOPs MoE baseline across knowledge and reasoning benchmarks, and achieve markedly stronger long-context performance. Mechanistic analyses show that DSE offloads early-layer static recall into memory, freeing effective depth and attention for higher-level reasoning. DSE is also infrastructure-efficient: its deterministic hashing enables offloading massive parameters into host memory during inference with negligible throughput overhead.

Modern large language models (LLMs) driven by scaling laws achieve emergent intelligence in large model sizes. Recently, the increasing concerns about cloud costs, latency and privacy make it an urgent requirement to develop compact edge language models. Distinguished from direct pretraining that bounded by parameter scaling law, this work proposes the unified pruning-aware pretraining, focusing on pretraining compact models while preserving performance of much larger source models, termed EfficientLLM. It features following characteristics: 1) Pruning in Pretraining Corpus: we introduce minimal parameter groups to decouple LLMs and continuously optimize model architecture with classic pruning methods like LLM-Pruner and SparseGPT during pretraining. We reveal that it achieves top-quality compact language models to scale up LLM pruning to large scale pretraining. 2) Auto-Designed Architecture: the LLM architecture is auto-designed during saliency-driven pruning, unifying pretraining, architectural design, and parameter pruning into a single process. Based on these, EfficientLLM significantly outperforms directly pretrained baselines with 100M \sim 1B parameters, such as MobileLLM, SmolLM, Qwen2.5-0.5B, OLMo-1B, Llama3.2-1B in commen sense benchmarks, which bridges the performance gap between traditional LLM compression and direct pretraining. Large Language Model (LLM)-based agents are increasingly deployed for complex, tool-based tasks where long-term memory is critical to driving actions. Existing benchmarks, however, primarily test an agent’s ability to passively retrieve isolated facts in response to explicit questions. They fail to evaluate the more crucial capability of actively applying memory to execute tasks. To address this gap, we introduce Mem2ActBench, a benchmark for evaluating whether agents can proactively leverage long-term memory to execute tool-based actions by selecting appropriate tools and grounding their parameters. The benchmark simulates persistent assistant usage, where users mention the same topic across long, interrupted interactions and expect previously established preferences and task states to be implicitly applied. We build the dataset with an automated pipeline that merges heterogeneous sources (ToolACE, BFCL, OASST1), resolves conflicts via consistency modeling, and synthesizes 2,029 sessions with 12 user–assistant–tool turns on average. From these memory chains, a reverse-generation method produces 400 tool-use tasks, with human evaluation confirming 91.3% are strongly memory-dependent. Experiments on seven memory frameworks show that current systems remain inadequate at actively utilizing memory for parameter grounding, highlighting the need for more effective approaches to evaluate and improve memory application in task execution. Recent progress in large language models (LLMs) is largely driven by scaling training compute through either pre-training with next-token prediction (NTP) or post-training with reinforcement learning (RL). The former contributes to learning broad knowledge and skills from general data, while struggling with data inefficiency and catastrophic forgetting in continual learning settings. The latter incentivizes reasoning capabilities with strong generalization, but is constrained by limited data availability due to its reliance on human annotation. To alleviate these issues, we propose Reinforcement Learning on Pre-Training data (RLPT), which combines the advantages of learning from general data and RL. In particular, RLPT derives reward signals directly from general text data through a next-segment reasoning objective, rewarding the policy for correctly predicting next text segments conditioned on the prefix text. Experiments across multiple benchmarks and models demonstrate the effectiveness of . For example, RLPT yields substantial improvements in continual pre-training (+4.6\%) and provides a strong foundation for post-training (+3.4\%) on Qwen3-8B-Base.

Tool-Integrated Reasoning has emerged as a key paradigm to augment Large Language Models (LLMs) with computational capabilities, yet integrating tool-use into long Chain-of-Thought (long CoT) remains underexplored, largely due to the scarcity of training data and the challenge of integrating tool-use without compromising the model’s intrinsic long-chain reasoning. In this paper, we introduce DART (Discovery And Reinforcement of Tool-Integrated Reasoning Chains via Rollout Trees), a reinforcement learning framework that enables spontaneous tool-use during long CoT reasoning without additional human annotation. DART operates by constructing dynamic rollout trees during training to discover valid tool-use opportunities, branching out at promising positions to explore tool-integrated trajectories. Subsequently, a tree-based process advantage estimation identifies and credits specific sub-trajectories where tool invocation positively contributes to the solution, effectively reinforcing these beneficial behaviors during training. Extensive experiments on challenging benchmarks like AIME and GPQA-Diamond demonstrate that DART significantly outperforms existing methods, successfully harmonizing tool execution with long CoT reasoning.
