Benchmark Radar: A Living Database and Search Engine for AI Benchmarks and Evaluation

Benchmark researchers and developers of large language models (LLMs) and other AI systems need to find relevant evaluations, locate their benchmark datasets and code, and understand the settings behind reported scores. We present Benchmark Radar, a living database and search engine for retrieval and discovery of AI benchmarks, covering LLM evaluation, agentic and tool-use benchmarks, coding, reasoning, safety, and domain-specific evaluations. The system combines daily discovery of benchmark papers, repositories, datasets, and releases with a searchable benchmark catalog, mentions in model cards and technical reports, and score histories. It retains source identities and citations so readers can inspect candidate benchmarks and their evaluation evidence. Daily discovery draws on 37 sources: 13 direct connectors and 24 first-party research and engineering feeds. The catalog contains 1,283 source records drawn from 4 benchmark catalogs and 12,916 numeric observations on 790 records. We describe collection and retrieval, audit the full catalog, and examine benchmark saturation, adoption trends, and the limits of score comparisons. A worked example walks through a complete prior-art search, showing how to query the catalog and inspect benchmark evidence when designing a new evaluation. We release the web dashboard with a benchmark leaderboard, a Pareto frontier view of score against measured use, saturation and trend views, daily feeds, downloadable evidence, a command-line interface (CLI) for offline queries, and reproducible analysis.

Proximity-Based Multi-Turn Optimization: Practical Credit Assignment for LLM Agent Training

Yangyi Fang, Jiaye Lin, Xiaoliang Fu, Cong Qin, Haolin Shi, Chang Liu

Multi-turn LLM agents are becoming pivotal to production systems, spanning customer service automation, e-commerce assistance, and interactive task management, where accurately distinguishing high-value informative signals from stochastic noise is critical for sample-efficient training. In real-world scenarios, a failure in a trivial task may reflect random instability, whereas success in a high-difficulty task signifies a genuine capability breakthrough. Yet, existing group-based policy optimization methods rigidly rely on statistical deviation within discrete batches, frequently misallocating credit when task difficulty fluctuates. To address this issue, we propose Proximity-based Multi-turn Optimization (ProxMO), a practical and robust framework engineered specifically for the constraints of real-world deployment. ProxMO integrates global context via two lightweight mechanisms: success-rate-aware modulation dynamically adapts gradient intensity based on episode-level difficulty, while proximity-based soft aggregation derives baselines through continuous semantic weighting at the step level. Extensive evaluations on ALFWorld and WebShop benchmarks demonstrate that ProxMO yields substantial performance gains over existing baselines with negligible computational cost. Ablation studies further validate the independent and synergistic efficacy of both mechanisms. Crucially, ProxMO offers plug-and-play compatibility with standard GRPO frameworks, facilitating immediate, low-friction adoption in existing industrial training pipelines. Our implementation is available at: https://github.com/GithubX-F/ProxMO-RL.

REVEALER: Reinforcement-Guided Visual Reasoning for Element-Level Text-Image Alignment Evaluation

FuLin Shi, Wenyi Xiao Zhejiang University, Leilei Gan Zhejiang University, Liang Ding Alibaba Group, Binchen

Evaluating the alignment between textual prompts and generated images is critical for ensuring the reliability and usability of text-to-image (T2I) models. However, most existing evaluation methods rely on coarse-grained metrics or static Question Answering (QA) pipelines, which lack fine-grained interpretability and struggle to reflect human preferences. To address this, we propose \textbf{REVEALER}, a reinforcement-guided visual reasoning framework for element-level text-to-image alignment evaluation. Adopting a structured ''grounding–reasoning–conclusion'' paradigm, our method enables Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) to explicitly localize semantic elements and derive interpretable alignment judgments. We optimize the model via Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO) using a multi-dimensional reward function that targets format compliance, localization precision, and alignment accuracy.Extensive experiments confirm that REVEALER achieves state-of-the-art results across four benchmarks. Notably, on EvalMuse-40K, it surpasses the strong proprietary Gemini 3 Pro and Training-based baselines with absolute accuracy gains of \textbf{+4.2\%} and \textbf{+13.3\%}, respectively. Ablation studies further demonstrate the efficacy of our method, contributing a cumulative \textbf{19.6\%} improvement over the base model.

Placing Puzzle Pieces Where They Matter: A Question Augmentation Framework for Reinforcement Learning

Yangyi Fang Tsinghua University, Haolin Shi Tsinghua University and ByteDance Inc.

Reinforcement learning has become a powerful approach for enhancing large language model reasoning, but faces a fundamental dilemma: training on easy problems can cause overfitting and pass@k degradation, while training on hard problems often results in sparse rewards. Recent question augmentation methods address this by prepending partial solutions as hints. However, uniform hint provision may introduce redundant information while missing critical reasoning bottlenecks, and excessive hints can reduce reasoning diversity, causing pass@k degradation. We propose PieceHint, a hint injection framework that strategically identifies and provides critical reasoning steps during training. By scoring the importance of different reasoning steps, selectively allocating hints based on problem difficulty, and progressively withdrawing scaffolding, PieceHint enables models to transition from guided learning to independent reasoning. Experiments on six mathematical reasoning benchmarks show that our 1.5B model achieves comparable average performance to 32B baselines while preserving pass@k diversity across all k values.
