Playing Soccer Like Humans Do: Learning Versatile and Agile Humanoid Soccer via Latent Motion Priors

Haoyu Shao, Yunshen Wang, Jingze Zhang, Shaohang Zhu, Yong-Lu Li, Tianzhu Zhang, Baoxiong Jia, Siyuan Huang

Humanoid soccer requires a robot to seamlessly combine agile locomotion, ball manipulation, and impact-rich contact dynamics across a continuous, dynamic behavioral spectrum. Yet existing approaches either cover only a limited set of skills, or forego motion priors entirely and produce unnatural behaviors, leaving the combination of a unified skill set and human-like motion quality unaddressed. We present soccerbot, a hierarchical reinforcement learning framework that resolves both limitations through a structured latent motion prior distilled from large-scale human soccer motion capture data. By constraining policy learning within this dynamically plausible motion manifold, a single skill-conditioned policy naturally learns to perform moving, dribbling, trapping, and kicking in a unified formulation, while inherently producing human-like motion and fluid transitions during commanded skill switching. Augmented by robustness-oriented simulation design, soccerbot transfers zero-shot to the Unitree G1 humanoid robot, demonstrating agile, natural, and robust execution of the full soccer skill repertoire under real-world conditions.

GaussFlaw: Fine-Grained Perceptual Diagnosis for 3D Gaussian Splatting

Shaocheng Shen, Zihan Zheng, Kejin Li, Lu Liu, Xiaoyun Zhang, Qiang Hu, Wenjun Zhang

3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) enables photorealistic novel- view synthesis with real-time rendering, yet fine-grained di- agnosis of its rendering artifacts remains challenging. These artifacts are typically spatially localized and exhibit diverse degradation patterns, making them difficult to character- ize using global quality metrics and image-level assessment benchmarks, which provide no explicit indication of where they occur or what types of artifacts they represent. To ad- dress this limitation, we introduce GaussFlaw-80K, the first large-scale dataset for fine-grained perceptual diagnosis in 3DGS. Constructed through a model-assisted human-in-the- loop pipeline, GaussFlaw-80K contains 80,049 artifact re- gions across 14,289 rendered images, each annotated with a pixel-level mask and one of eight flaw labels spanning ge- ometric, blending, and photometric degradations. These an- notations turn 3DGS artifact diagnosis into an explicit and measurable task. Building on this dataset, we propose Ge- oCritic, a geometry-guided multi-task model that integrates RGB appearance with depth-derived cues to jointly localize artifacts and classify their flaw types. Beyond evaluation, we further demonstrate the downstream benefits of fine-grained diagnosis through three complementary targeted operations: Gaussian densification, attribute correction, and outlier prun- ing. Experiments show that GeoCritic achieves an AUC-J of 0.9507 and an Acc@1 of 80.08%, while diagnosis-guided re- finement improves all reported global and crop-level metrics across diverse datasets and 3DGS backbones.

Bayesian Offline Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning with Latent World Models

Xi Xiong, Lu Liu, Yiming Li, Jakob Foerster

Model-based offline multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) provides a promising approach to multi-agent decision-making under partial observability, where the global state is unavailable from offline data. However, limited dataset coverage can lead to substantial out-of-distribution (OOD) model errors, which may mislead policy optimization and degrade downstream performance. Existing model-based offline MARL methods typically rely on access to global states or mitigate model errors through pessimistic or conservative policy optimization, leaving the reliability and refinement of learned world models less explored. We propose a Bayesian offline MARL framework that infers latent global states from decentralized observation-action histories and iteratively refines a posterior world model using only offline data. Building on posterior information loss, we extend this criterion to the multi-agent setting as multi-agent posterior information loss (MPIL), which provides a reliability measure for world model refinement and offline evaluation. Theoretically, we establish an upper bound on policy regret that is monotonic in MPIL and further characterize its dependence on the size and state-joint-action coverage of the offline dataset. Experiments on partially observable multi-agent variants of D4RL MuJoCo tasks demonstrate competitive policy performance across diverse offline data conditions, while MPIL-guided refinement improves world model prediction and downstream policy performance. These results support a principled connection between world model reliability, offline data coverage, and policy performance in partially observable offline MARL.

MedNet and U$^2$-ViT: A Nested Vision Transformer Diffusion Framework for Diverse Medical Images Generation

Lakshmikar R. Polamreddy, Jialu Li, Youshan Zhang

The scarcity of diverse, high-quality medical images remains a significant bottleneck in advancing AI-driven medical diagnostics and treatment planning. Traditional datasets often suffer from class imbalances, limited disease coverage, and insufficient variations in imaging conditions - challenges that hinder the development of robust, generalizable models. To address this, we introduce MedNet, a large-scale, multi-modal text-to-image dataset spanning 61 disease categories with 160 classes, covering both humans and animals. We built this with images from trusted public repositories, ensuring data diversity, quality, and ethical compliance. Additionally, we propose U$^2$-ViT, a novel diffusion-based text-to-image generation architecture arranging Vision Transformers (ViTs) in a nested U-Net structure to enhance the generation of diverse, and high-fidelity medical images. Through extensive experiments, we demonstrate that our model achieves the best Fr'echet Inception Distance (FID) score compared to state-of-the-art models. The source code is available at https://github.com/LakshmikarPolamreddy/MedNet-U2-ViT.

AI 速览:RFW-A 将智能体程序合成与程序化生成结合,先由智能体构建并验证类别级可复用生成器,再以程序化执行低成本批量产出铰接资产,并构建了 RFW-A-400K 数据集。

High-quality articulated assets are essential for embodied perception, simulation, and manipulation, yet constructing them at scale remains difficult. Manual annotation and procedural modeling require substantial human effort. Recent agentic systems automate asset construction through program synthesis, but repeat costly reasoning and refinement for every new asset. Our key observation is that assets within a category can share construction logic despite variations in structure and appearance. Agentic synthesis and procedural generation are therefore complementary: agents can construct reusable programs, while procedural execution reuses the resulting logic across many samples. We therefore present RFW-A, which combines the two in a new articulated-asset generation paradigm. Starting from existing articulated programs, RFW-A organizes reusable components and their dependencies into category-level generators. Agents test and refine these generators across sampled configurations and motion states. Once constructed and validated, the generators produce diverse assets through procedural execution with no further model calls or token charges. The estimated API cost of generator authoring averages $10.62, amortizing to $0.05 per asset over 200 assets, versus $1.24 for the sampled per-asset agentic synthesis baseline. Using RFW-A, we built RFW-A-400K, containing over 400K sim-ready articulated assets across more than 500 categories. Experiments show high structural and kinematic validity and stable execution across physics simulators. Beyond asset validity, training with RFW-A-400K improves part-level articulation estimation on seen and unseen categories, while policies trained in simulation with retrieved and program-edited assets transfer zero-shot to real articulated objects.

EditAgent: Rethinking Agentic Image Editing

Haiyang Xu, Tianyu Wang, Jialu Li, Jiteng Mu, Yuanjun Xiong, Jianming Zhang, Zhuowen Tu, Mingze Xu

Agentic image editors decompose complex requests into steps, but when a step fails, they mostly retry with the same narrow set of tools and a judge that scores each output by eye directly. We argue that such agents are bounded by two spaces: the action space of what the agent can do, and the observation space of what its judge can see. On our expert-annotated benchmark, a general-purpose editor yields no usable result in over 40% of the cases, and no judge is reliable across edit types. We present EditAgent, which expands both spaces. It routes each step to general editors and specialized methods, and attaches to each candidate a verification record. With these records, off-the-shelf VLM judges outperform finetuned reward models. Candidates are generated in parallel and judged in one listwise call: experts prefer this to sequential refinement in 78.5% of decided comparisons, at no more than half the judge calls. EditAgent improves two open-weight editors on three benchmarks and serves as a data engine for training stronger editors.

OmniSeek: Native Tool Integration for Multi-turn Audio-Visual Reasoning

Haibo Wang, Jiteng Mu, Jialu Li, Jingru Yi, Yuanjun Xiong, Jianming Zhang, Lifu Huang, Mingze Xu

We present OmniSeek, an agentic framework that transforms an Omni Large Language Model (Omni-LLM) into an active, multi-turn reasoning agent with native tool use. Rather than passively processing an entire audio-visual sequence in a single forward pass, OmniSeek makes evidence acquisition part of the reasoning process: it dynamically decides whether to look or listen, and over which temporal window, to retrieve sparse but critical evidence across different modalities within long contexts. Through an iterative multi-turn protocol, the retrieved raw audio or visual segments are appended back into the context to support subsequent reasoning. To cold-start this capability, we build a data engine that synthesizes OmniTraj-170K, a corpus of multi-hop Chain-of-Thought trajectories with interleaved audio and visual evidence. We first supervise the model on these trajectories to instill multi-turn tool-use behavior, and then further optimize the policy via a two-stage reinforcement learning with verifiable rewards. Moreover, we introduce an Audio-Visual Necessity objective that explicitly rewards successful trajectories whose reasoning depends on both modalities, discouraging single-modality shortcuts. Extensive experiments across a wide range of benchmarks demonstrate that OmniSeek learns adaptive cross-modal evidence seeking and consistently improves audio-visual reasoning performance.

Timestral

We introduce Timestral, a family of four time series foundation models for probabilistic forecasting, with 5M, 28M, 123M, and 209M parameters. Timestral sets a new state of the art on GIFT-Eval, TIME, and fev-bench, where Timestral-209M and Timestral-123M take the top two places on every metric. We achieve this with three ingredients: Decoupled Horizon Forecasting (DHF), which separates prediction tokens from the causally encoded context, so that longer horizons are trained without masking context and each observed value is both a forecast target and context for later forecasts; a covariate framework that natively supports known-future covariates within a causal architecture; and a two-stage pipeline that pretrains exclusively on a diverse, large-scale synthetic corpus before post-training on a mix of real and synthetic data with extended context. This report describes the model design and its benchmark results. Weights for all four models are available on Hugging Face and inference code on GitHub.

The Illusion of Reasoning: Exposing Evasive Data Contamination in LLMs via Zero-CoT Truncation

Yifan Lan, Yuanpu Cao, Hanyu Wang, Lu Lin, Jinghui Chen

Large language models (LLMs) have demonstrated impressive reasoning abilities across a wide range of tasks, but data contamination undermines the objective evaluation of these capabilities. This problem is further exacerbated by malicious model publishers who use evasive, or indirect, contamination strategies, such as paraphrasing benchmark data to evade existing detection methods and artificially boost leaderboard performance. Current approaches struggle to reliably detect such stealthy contamination. In this work, we uncover a critical phenomenon: a model's generated reasoning steps actively mask its underlying memorization. Inspired by this, we propose the Zero-CoT Probe (ZCP), a novel black-box detection method that deliberately truncates the entire Chain-of-Thought (CoT) process to expose latent shortcut mappings. To further isolate memorization from the model's intrinsic problem-solving capabilities, ZCP compares the model's zero-CoT performance on the original benchmark against an isomorphically perturbed reference dataset. Furthermore, we introduce Contamination Confidence, a metric that quantifies both the likelihood and severity of contamination, moving beyond simple binary classifications. Extensive experiments on both previously identified contaminated models and specially fine-tuned contaminated models demonstrate that ZCP robustly detects both direct and evasive data contamination. The code for ZCP is accessible at https://github.com/Yifan-Lan/zero-cot-probe.

GenPT: Beyond Self-Report for Reliable LLM Psychometrics via Generative Projective Testing

Ming Wang Singapore Management University and Northeastern University, Shuang Wu Northeastern University, Bixuan Wang, Lu Lin, Yuxin Chen Central University of Finance and Economics, Xiaocui Yang Northeastern University, Daling Wang, Shi Feng Northeastern University, China 等 10 位作者

Self-report questionnaires remain the default tool for probing the psychological characteristics of Large Language Model (LLM) agents, yet classical instruments (BFI, BDI, MBTI, BSS) inherit three well-known threats under LLMs: contamination from training corpora, directional bias under social-desirability framing, and limited responsiveness to context beyond the item text. We ask whether a projective paradigm can be adapted into a usable psychometric tool for LLM agents. We introduce GenPT (Generative Projective Testing), which reformulates TAT, Rorschach, and SCT with newly generated stimuli and organises assessment as a three-stage pipeline (Behavior Collection \to Interpretation \to Diagnosis) grounded in SCORS-G and a Simplified Rorschach Analysis System. On personality traits (Big Five, MBTI) and mental-health risks (depression, suicide ideation), questionnaires exhibit systematic directional shifts under social-desirability framing, most strongly on suicide ideation, whereas GenPT’s collected behavioral patterns stay near the symmetric baseline; under a longitudinal counselling context, GenPT-based depression assessment shifts by roughly an order of magnitude more than its questionnaire counterpart. Questionnaires remain competitive on clean-persona trait tasks where items align lexically with the persona description. Overall, GenPT complements rather than replaces self-report when contamination resistance, bias asymmetry, and context sensitivity matter. Code and stimuli: https://github.com/sci-m-wang/GenPT.

A Layer-wise Analysis of Supervised Fine-Tuning

Qinghua Zhao, Xueling Gong, Xinyu Chen, Zhongfeng Kang Lanzhou University, Xinlu Li

While critical for alignment, Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) incurs the risk of catastrophic forgetting, yet the layer-wise emergence of instruction-following capabilities remains elusive. We investigate this mechanism via a comprehensive analysis utilizing information-theoretic, geometric, and optimization metrics across model scales (1B-32B). Our experiments reveal a distinct depth-dependent pattern: middle layers (20%-80%) are stable, whereas final layers exhibit high sensitivity. Leveraging this insight, we propose Mid-Block Efficient Tuning, which selectively updates these critical intermediate layers. Empirically, our method outperforms standard LoRA up to 10.2% on GSM8K (OLMo2-7B) with reduced parameter overhead, demonstrating that effective alignment is architecturally localized rather than distributed. The code is publicly available at https://github.com/lshowway/base.

Gemini 1.5: Unlocking multimodal understanding across millions of tokens of context

Gemini Team, Petko Georgiev, Ving Ian Lei, Ryan Burnell, Libin Bai, Anmol Gulati, Garrett Tanzer, Damien Vincent 等 1137 位作者

In this report, we introduce the Gemini 1.5 family of models, representing the next generation of highly compute-efficient multimodal models capable of recalling and reasoning over fine-grained information from millions of tokens of context, including multiple long documents and hours of video and audio. The family includes two new models: (1) an updated Gemini 1.5 Pro, which exceeds the February version on the great majority of capabilities and benchmarks; (2) Gemini 1.5 Flash, a more lightweight variant designed for efficiency with minimal regression in quality. Gemini 1.5 models achieve near-perfect recall on long-context retrieval tasks across modalities, improve the state-of-the-art in long-document QA, long-video QA and long-context ASR, and match or surpass Gemini 1.0 Ultra's state-of-the-art performance across a broad set of benchmarks. Studying the limits of Gemini 1.5's long-context ability, we find continued improvement in next-token prediction and near-perfect retrieval (>99%) up to at least 10M tokens, a generational leap over existing models such as Claude 3.0 (200k) and GPT-4 Turbo (128k). Finally, we highlight real-world use cases, such as Gemini 1.5 collaborating with professionals on completing their tasks achieving 26 to 75% time savings across 10 different job categories, as well as surprising new capabilities of large language models at the frontier; when given a grammar manual for Kalamang, a language with fewer than 200 speakers worldwide, the model learns to translate English to Kalamang at a similar level to a person who learned from the same content.
