Visual interaction models that support users during ongoing physical tasks require evaluation in closed loop, where assistant responses can change subsequent user behavior and task outcomes. Existing benchmarks largely rely on offline replay and therefore cannot capture these effects. We introduce Interactive Visual Gym, a framework for closed-loop evaluation and training of visual interaction models through joint simulation of executable task environments and human users. We contribute three simulators that recreate everyday tasks and human-aligned action spaces across cooking, household manipulation, and mobile-interface domains, together with a persona-conditioned user simulation harness that collaborates with the assistant while incorporating controlled execution errors and other out-of-plan behaviors. We instantiate the framework as IVG-Bench, a benchmark with 315 interaction scenarios. Evaluating state-of-the-art VLMs as visual interaction models reveals substantial limitations: the best-performing model, Gemini 4 Argon, completes only 53.4% of tasks within the time limit, exhibits significant weaknesses in factual grounding and actionable guidance, and is often too slow to prevent errors when response latency is considered. We verify our evaluation protocol with a human study which finds 78.5% agreement between our interaction-quality metric and participant preferences. We further show that the environments provide useful learning signals: in a proof-of-concept GRPO experiment, closed-loop training improves both task success and interaction quality for Qwen3.5-4B model in our cooking environment.

LITMUS: Benchmarking Behavioral Jailbreaks of LLM Agents in Real OS Environments

原文摘要

The rapid proliferation of LLM-based autonomous agents in real operating system environments introduces a new category of safety risk beyond content safety: behavior jailbreak, where an adversary induces an agent to execute dangerous OS-level operations with irreversible consequences. Existing benchmarks either evaluate safety at the semantic layer alone, missing physical-layer harms, or fail to isolate test cases, letting earlier runs contaminate later ones. We present LITMUS (LLM-agents In-OS Testing for Measuring Unsafe Subversion), a benchmark addressing both gaps via a semantic-physical dual verification mechanism and OS-level state rollback. LITMUS comprises 819 high-risk test cases organized into one harmful seed subset and six attack-extended subsets covering three adversarial paradigms (jailbreak speaking, skill injection, and entity wrapping), plus a fully automated multi-agent evaluation framework judging behavior at both conversational and OS-level physical layers. Evaluation across frontier agents reveals three findings: (1) current agents lack effective safety awareness, with strong models (e.g., Claude Sonnet 4.6) still executing 40.64% of high-risk operations; (2) agents exhibit pervasive Execution Hallucination (EH), verbally refusing a request while the dangerous operation has already completed at the system level, invisible to every prior semantic-only framework; and (3) skill injection and entity wrapping attacks achieve high success rates, exposing pronounced agent vulnerabilities. LITMUS provides the first standardized platform for reproducible, physically grounded behavioral safety evaluation of LLM agents in real OS environments.

CogArena: Benchmarking Multimodal Agents on Interactive Behavioral Experiments

原文摘要

Claims about the cognitive capabilities of large language models are typically tested by translating behavioral paradigms into text prompts, bypassing the visual interfaces and time pressure through which human participants actually engage with experiments. At the same time, AI agents can now complete online behavioral tasks and produce human-like data, which raises concerns that online datasets in the social and behavioral sciences are increasingly open to contamination. We introduce CogArena, a benchmark of ten experimental paradigms from the social and behavioral sciences. Agents complete the experiments through a standard web browser, working with the same visual stimuli and response interfaces that online participants use. A three-level scoring procedure evaluates whether the agent completed the task, how accurately it performed, and whether its data show the behavioral signatures each paradigm reliably produces in people. Across four multimodal models, each run ten times per task, we find that finishing an experiment and reproducing its signatures are different things. Many sessions did not finish, and those that did reproduced some signatures reliably and others not at all. CogArena provides the tasks, scoring code, and a public leaderboard for new submissions.
