LabWorld: Learning Interactive 4D Worlds for Scientific Experimentation

Autonomous scientific agents must not only reason about experiments but also interact with the physical environments in which they are executed. Existing laboratory simulators typically rely on manually constructed assets and predefined procedures, while laboratory videos capture real equipment, layouts, and interactions but leave this information implicit in pixels. We introduce LabWorld, an agent-driven Real2Sim framework for reconstructing interactive 4D laboratory worlds from monocular RGB video. LabWorld recovers reusable 3D assets, a metric scene, time-varying object states, and procedure events. Multi-frame observations provide complementary evidence for asset and scene reconstruction, while motion reconstruction combines visual and geometric observations with event constraints encoding the spatial and temporal requirements of laboratory interactions. We evaluate LabWorld on real pipetting and vortexing videos collected in our laboratory against general-purpose agentic and dedicated reconstruction baselines. For pipetting, LabWorld achieves a mean Mask IoU of 0.501, exceeding the strongest baseline by 0.033. For vortexing, it achieves a mean Tube-Length-Normalized PCK-AUC of 0.638, exceeding the strongest baseline by 0.035. On five pipetting videos, event-conditioned reconstruction increases the fraction of modeled physical constraints satisfied from 14.3% (5/35) to 100% (35/35). The resulting worlds expose geometry, motion, articulation, and events as explicit, editable state for replay, inspection, and future embodied scientific systems.

LC-GRPO: Bridging Train-Inference Gap for Flow-Based GRPO with Langevin Correction

Yingqing Guo, Hui Yuan, Zijian He, Mengdi Wang, Zheng Ding

Flow-based generative models are typically sampled by solving a deterministic ordinary differential equation (ODE), whereas reinforcement learning (RL) requires stochastic rollouts for exploration and optimization. Existing online RL methods for flow models therefore replace the inference-time ODE with a stochastic differential equation (SDE) during training. Although the ODE and SDE share the same marginal distribution in continuous time, they can behave differently after finite-step discretization. In particular, SDE rollouts often become blurry as exploration noise increases, creating a mismatch between training rollouts and inference-time ODE samples. We introduce LC-GRPO, a flow-based GRPO framework with Langevin correction. Each rollout transition takes an inference-aligned ODE Euler step followed by a stochastic Langevin correction targeting the marginal at the resulting timestep. The required score is recovered directly from the flow velocity, requiring no additional score model, while the transition remains an isotropic Gaussian with tractable likelihood. We theoretically show that, under suitable conditions, a single Langevin correction step reduces the error of an imperfect ODE Euler step and, under matched randomness, yields a more accurate transition than standard Euler--Maruyama discretization of the reverse SDE. Additionally, experiments on SD3.5-Medium, FLUX.1-Dev, and HunyuanVideo show that LC-GRPO consistently improves reward optimization across text-to-image and text-to-video tasks, preserves generation quality, and substantially narrows the gap between stochastic training rollouts and deterministic ODE inference.

ChipSeek: Optimizing Verilog Generation via EDA-Integrated Reinforcement Learning

Large Language Models have emerged as powerful tools for automating Register-Transfer Level (RTL) code generation, yet they face critical limitations: existing approaches typically fail to simultaneously optimize functional correctness and hardware efficiency metrics such as Power, Performance, and Area (PPA). Methods relying on supervised fine-tuning commonly produce functionally correct but suboptimal designs due to the lack of inherent mechanisms for learning hardware optimization principles. Conversely, external post-processing techniques aiming to refine PPA performance after generation often suffer from inefficiency and do not improve the LLMs’ intrinsic capabilities. To overcome these challenges, we propose ChipSeek, a novel hierarchical reward based reinforcement learning framework designed to encourage LLMs to generate RTL code that is both functionally correct and optimized for PPA metrics. Our approach integrates direct feedback from EDA simulators and synthesis tools into a hierarchical reward mechanism, facilitating a nuanced understanding of hardware design trade-offs. Through Curriculum-Guided Dynamic Policy Optimization (CDPO), ChipSeek enhances the LLM’s ability to generate high-quality, optimized RTL code. Evaluations on standard benchmarks demonstrate ChipSeek’s superior performance, achieving state-of-the-art functional correctness and PPA performance. Furthermore, it excels in specific optimization tasks, consistently yielding highly efficient designs when individually targeting fine-grained optimization goals such as power, delay, and area. The artifact is open-source in https://github.com/rong-hash/chipseek.
