Adaptive and High-Fidelity Matching Algorithm for Retrieval-Based Accent Conversion

Xinran Wang, Ning Chen, Yixin Luo, Hongqing Zhu, Li Tian

原文摘要

Accent conversion (AC) aims to transform accent-related acoustic characteristics of the source speech to a target accent while preserving linguistic content and speaker identity. Unlike conventional generative AC models, the retrieval-based ones, which employ k-nearest neighbors (kNN) to directly retrieve acoustic features from target-accent speech and so do not need source-accent speech during training, are more effective. However, existing retrieval-based AC frameworks face three issues: limited intelligibility due to incomplete phoneme coverage from sequential matching pool construction, limited adaptability to source speech variations, and low spectral continuity from coarse-grained style modulation. To address these limitations, we propose Anisotropy-Aware Adaptive k-Nearest Neighbor Accent Conversion (AA-kNN-AC), an enhanced retrieval-based AC model. First, we design a phoneme coverage-based matching pool construction strategy, employing greedy selection with diversity-aware scoring to achieve balanced and near-complete phonetic representation under limited target accent data. Second, we propose an anisotropy-aware adaptive kNN retrieval mechanism that dynamically determines the neighborhood size according to the singular value decomposition (SVD)-based anisotropy analysis, enhancing adaptability to source speech variations. Third, we present a progressive Adaptive Instance Normalization (AdaIN)-based fine-grained decoder by integrating temporal up-sampling within AdaIN blocks, enhancing spectral continuity of the converted speech. Experimental results on the L2-ARCTIC and VCTK datasets demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms existing retrieval-based and generative baselines in both objective and subjective evaluations, achieving high intelligibility, speaker similarity, and naturalness. Autonomy and Coordination in Intelligent Manufacturing: A Recursive Autonomous Agent Framework

Yuning Chen, Hongda Zhang, Linqiang Hu, Ziqing Zhou, Yi Liu, Zhao Huang, Ding Zhou, Haining Xu

原文摘要

Intelligent production requires systems to make decisions and organize work according to production goals and operating conditions. It also requires continuous adjustment through feedback. This paper analyzes intelligence in human production organizations from a complex adaptive systems (CAS) perspective. The analysis identifies two coupled mechanisms: individual autonomy and collective coordination. Individual autonomy enables actors to form local decisions using available information. Collective coordination aligns these decisions with shared goals and joint constraints. Learning and adaptation improve both mechanisms over time. A production-system model formalizes how local decision rules and coordination jointly form system decisions. On this basis, we propose the Recursive Autonomous Agent (RAA) framework, which combines goal-driven autonomous agents with a recursive organizational structure. Goal contracts define local objectives and operating boundaries, while capability contracts support the selection and composition of production units. Common interfaces allow coordinated groups to participate as units in larger organizations, connecting equipment, production lines, and factories. RAA thus provides an engineering approach to next-generation intelligent manufacturing, translating the requirements of intelligence, openness, and system-wide integration into mechanisms for autonomous and coordinated production.

EP-LVMQA: Evidence-Preserving Coarse-to-Fine Localization for Low-Quality Long Video Moment Question Answering

Guoning Chen, Zhexun Hu, Yifan Wei, Yixuan Weng, Bin Li, Yufei Zhao

原文摘要

Long instructional videos are increasingly used in medical education, industrial training, and procedural knowledge transfer, yet their evidence is often incomplete or unreliable: subtitles may be missing, ASR noisy, OCR sparse, and decisive actions briefly shown without narration. Existing VideoQA systems typically return labels or free-form text, making answer support difficult to inspect. We study Long Video Moment Question Answering (LVMQA), where a system returns timestamped answer-supporting evidence. We propose EP-LVMQA, an evidence-preserving coarse-to-fine framework comprising an Uncertainty-Aware Multimodal Evidence Timeline, a Coarse Evidence Planner, and an Evidence-Conditioned Fine Localizer. An evidence card transfers planner scores, matched cues, source-confidence proxies, modality-specific evidence, neighboring context, and a temporal prior between the latter two modules. On MedVidQA, EP-LVMQA achieves 26.1 R1@0.5 and 31.8 mIoU, improving the strongest non-ours results by 6.3 and 5.1 points. It raises Suff.@2 and Ver.@2 to 25.4 and 22.6, gains of 9.5 and 8.8 points. Under matched low-quality perturbations, average relative degradation is reduced from the strongest non-ours value of 14.6% to 11.1%. On Ego4D-NLQ and QVHighlights, EP-LVMQA remains broadly comparable to established task-specific localization methods.

Long-Term Agent Memory through Complementary Curation and Consolidation

原文摘要

Long-horizon dialogue agents require effective memory systems to recall facts, events, and relationships from interaction histories. In this work, we propose a hybrid-memory architecture comprising episodic memories and structured relational memories and a consolidation mechanism which preserves efficiency. We conduct an empirical study across two benchmarks: LoCoMo and LongMemEval-S. Our experiments demonstrate that the two memory types are consistently complementary, combining both outperform state-of-the-art memory frameworks and achieves 90.2% accuracy on LoCoMo and 85.5% on LongMemEval-S.

MVRCap: Towards Comprehensive Video Captioning via Hierarchical Multi-Dimensional Verifiable Rewards

原文摘要

Despite significant progress, current models struggle to generate comprehensive video captions, constrained primarily by coarse-grained supervision, which often fails to capture spatial-temporal dynamics and the underlying logical intent. To address this issue, we introduce MVRCap, a novel framework that reformulates video captioning as a reinforcement learning task steered by structured verification. Central to our approach is a Fine-Grained Verifiable Reward mechanism, serving as dense supervision to enforce rigorous visual-semantic alignment. Specifically, we construct this reward system anchored by three complementary pillars: a Hierarchical Concept Coverage Reward utilizing our newly constructed MVRCap-QA dataset to ensure multi-dimensional completeness and semantic depth, a Factuality Verification Reward to enhance factual consistency, and a Conciseness Constraint to maximize semantic density. Furthermore, we curate the high-quality MVRCap-SFT dataset, providing structured annotations across six key dimensions, to serve as a robust foundational initialization for the RL policy in this training pipeline. Extensive experiments demonstrate that MVRCap achieves state-of-the-art performance on authoritative benchmarks including VDC, CAPability, and VC4VG.
