For LLMs, skills are textual recipes encoding mature problem-solving experience. Despite widespread deployment, their utility is limited by the model's ability to comprehend and follow skill instructions. To address this limitation, we propose ParametricSkills, a framework that parameterizes textual skills at test time, enabling context-free management of the full skill lifecycle. Specifically, we first construct a large-scale and high-quality skill collection, and then synthesize single-turn and multi-turn skill-exploitation trajectories. Using this data, we then train a hypernetwork that parameterizes both the content and the exploitation methodologies of skills by converting textual skills into LoRA adapters. To facilitate the real-world application of our framework, we further align the hypernetwork on complex, long-horizon trajectories collected with OpenCode, enabling the models to operate reliably in realistic interactive workflows with ParametricSkills. Across evaluations, ParametricSkills effectively parameterizes skills, yielding substantial gains in task completion. More notably, as parametric skills accumulate as adapters rather than crowding the context, they open a preliminary but promising path toward continual learning at test time.

Thermodynamics-Informed Learning Captures Hierarchical Hydrogen-Bond Networks in Deep Eutectic Solvents

Yanpeng Ye, Chaoran Duan, Mian Xu, S. Mani Sarathy

原文摘要

Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) offer a tunable platform for lignocellulose refining, but their solvation behavior depends on multicomponent hydrogen-bond networks rather than individual constituent properties. We develop TiNN, a thermodynamics-informed neural network that hierarchically represents HBA-HBD association and solute accommodation through a learned free-energy pathway. Trained on 938 records, TiNN achieves a test-set $R^2$ of 0.917 and generalizes to new HBA-HBD combinations and sparse conditions. Ablation identifies solute-specific stabilization as the largest contributor to prediction accuracy, while the importance of hydrogen-bond compatibility depends on the dissolution mechanism. Experimental measurements of glucose, xylan, and Kraft lignin in acidic, basic, and neutral DESs show that TiNN reduces the geometric mean solubility error from more than 23-fold with COSMO-RS to approximately 1.5-fold. Without training on fractionation data, TiNN also distinguishes DES formulations with high and low lignin and hemicellulose removal from corn stover. These results support chemically grounded solvent screening for lignocellulose fractionation.

Efficient and Faithful High-Resolution Image Editing with Sparse Cross-Resolution Denoising

Maosen Zhao, Xianfang Zeng, Pengtao Chen, Peng Ye, Gang Yu, Jiayuan Fan, Tao Chen

原文摘要

Instruction-based image editors still primarily operate at 1K, whereas practical editing increasingly requires faithful 2K/4K outputs. Dense high-resolution adaptation preserves the editing trajectory but incurs expensive target-source attention; editing at 1K followed by external refinement is cheaper but can separate detail restoration from the editing trajectory. We introduce FLASH, a native high-resolution editor based on sparse cross-resolution denoising. A frozen 1K branch provides a semantic and structural anchor, while a target-resolution branch reconstructs local detail within the same Transformer. An asymmetric topology retains full 1K attention, guides high-resolution queries with spatially aligned low-resolution noisy-target states, and confines high-resolution target-reference interaction to local Halo neighborhoods. Resolution-specific diffusion-state mapping and spatial YaRN adapt the pretrained editor to larger grids. An optional, training-free progressive path replaces early high-resolution denoising with a 1K prefix and completes refinement in the same editor. On VINS-4KEval, the direct model achieves the strongest structural fidelity among the compared methods at both 2K and 4K. A separate 4K forward benchmark with R = 1 records 4.2x faster total forward execution and 25.3x faster attention than dense target-reference attention. Progressive inference reduces end-to-end 4K latency by 30.5%, with a modest quality cost.

Lookahead Prediction-Guided Adaptive Visual Refocusing for Interleaved Multimodal Reasoning

Mengzhao Wang, Yanli Ji, Peng Ye

原文摘要

Interleaved multimodal chain-of-thought reasoning improves the visual reasoning capabilities of multimodal large language models by dynamically incorporating visual evidence during reasoning. However, existing methods primarily select evidence from historical context. When the reasoning focus shifts, history-guided evidence may remain focused on prior regions and fail to cover the visual information required by the next step. We refer to this lag between visual evidence and subsequent reasoning demands as Temporal Evidence Myopia. To address this issue, we propose Lookahead Prediction-guided Adaptive Visual Refocusing (LPAVR), a training-free test-time framework. LPAVR transforms Multi-Token Prediction (MTP) from a decoding acceleration mechanism into a lookahead signal for anticipating upcoming reasoning intent. During MTP decoding, the draft head generates multiple future tokens, while the target model verifies them in parallel and retains the longest prefix consistent with its decoding trajectory. This target-verified prefix contains near-future semantics, which LPAVR uses to construct lookahead-guided visual evidence and assess whether history-guided evidence covers the indicated regions. If the coverage is sufficient, the history-guided evidence is retained; otherwise, LPAVR switches to the lookahead-guided evidence. This better aligns the visual context with upcoming reasoning and improves consistency between draft predictions and target-model decoding. Experiments on multiple multimodal reasoning benchmarks show that LPAVR improves both reasoning accuracy and the acceptance rates of MTP speculative tokens, jointly enhancing visual reasoning and speculative decoding efficiency.

Learning from Points and Patches: A Pre-trained Hybrid Attention Transformer for Time Series Analysis

Peiwang Tang, Cheng HE, Yupeng Ye, Weitai Zhang, Qinghua Sun, Defu Lian

原文摘要

Time-series data generated by Web services and connected systems support applications such as user activity analysis, service monitoring, and resource management. However, learning transferable representations from heterogeneous time series remains challenging due to diverse temporal patterns, variable sequence lengths, and limited high-quality annotations. Despite the success of pre-training in natural language processing and computer vision, effective time-series pre-training requires strategies tailored to temporal data. We propose TimeHAT (Hybrid Attention Transformer), a general-purpose pre-training framework for time-series analysis that addresses two complementary questions: what to learn and how to learn. For what to learn, we introduce a Unified Point-Patch Masking Strategy (UPPMS) that integrates point-level and patch-level supervision within a unified framework for contextual reconstruction and causal extrapolation, enabling the model to capture both fine-grained temporal variations and broader temporal patterns. For how to learn, we develop a Hybrid Attention Encoder (HAE) that combines prefix-constrained bidirectional attention in initial layers with directional hybrid attention in deeper layers, aiming to preserve effective contextual interactions while mitigating rank degeneration. We evaluate TimeHAT across real-world datasets and four downstream tasks: classification, long-term forecasting, imputation, and anomaly detection. Experiments cover fine-tuning, few-shot, and zero-shot transfer settings, demonstrating competitive performance across diverse time-series analysis tasks. Code is available at https://github.com/TangPeiwang/TimeHAT.

原文摘要

Evolution, the engine behind the survival and growth of life on Earth, operates through the population-based process of reproduction. Inspired by this principle, this paper formally defines a newly emerging problem: the population-based evolution of large language models (LLMs). We introduce a novel framework that starts with a population of parent LLMs and allows this population to evolve through four key operations: (i) crossover, merging the weights of different parents to create offspring LLMs, (ii) mutation, introducing small, random changes to model weights to foster diversity, (iii) selection, prioritizing high-performing models, and (iv) succession, transferring the learned experience from parent to offspring LLMs. With only 200 samples per new task, the LLM population evolves rapidly to adapt to the task at hand, without any gradients. Experiments on 12 datasets show that our framework consistently outperforms existing multi-LLM merging and adaptation methods, achieving relative performance gains of up to 54.8 over the best LLM in the initial population. Moreover, our framework allows for (i) the evolution of LLMs across multiple new tasks simultaneously, (ii) scaling effectively with populations of up to 40 LLMs, and (iii) even zero-shot generalization to unseen held-out tasks. 原文摘要

Existing multi-LLM collaboration systems often encounter scalability challenges when integrating new LLMs and tasks, leading to suboptimal performance. To address this, we propose SMCS, a Scalable Multi-LLM Collaboration System designed to effectively coordinate multiple open-source LLMs. The system consists of two core components: a Retrieval-based Prior Selection (RPS) module, which dynamically selects the most suitable LLMs for each input, and an Exploration–Exploitation-Driven Posterior Enhancement (EPE) module, which fosters response diversity and selects high-quality outputs through a hybrid scoring mechanism. Experiments on eight mainstream benchmarks validate the effectiveness of our system: by integrating fifteen open-source LLMs, SMCS outperforms prevailing closed-source LLMs, e.g., GPT-4.1(+5.36%) and GPT-o3-mini(+5.28%) across multiple tasks. Remarkably, it even exceeds the average of best results on different datasets with open-source LLMs (+2.86%), significantly advancing the empirical performance frontier of open-source collaboration. The code is released at https://github.com/magent4aci/SMCS.
