Egocentric human video offers a scalable source of manipulation priors for robot learning, yet translating raw data scale into generalizable robot policies demands rigorous data curation and training recipes. We introduce Open-HumanWAM, the first fully open recipe for scaling egocentric pretraining to 50,000 hours, anchored by Open-HumanWAM-50K---a curated egocentric video corpus densely annotated with hand motion and natural language. Leveraging this corpus, we systematically investigate pure human pretraining via closed-loop simulation evaluations and uncover an empirical log-linear scaling law linking pretraining data hours to downstream robot success rates. Grounded in these findings, we develop HumanWAM-Vanilla, a world--action model pretrained exclusively on 50k hours of egocentric human video. Upon robot post-training, HumanWAM-Vanilla reaches 92.08% success on RoboTwin 2.0 Clean2Clean and 68.88% on Clean2Random, alongside a 14.17% mean success rate and a 19.00 mean progress score on RoboDojo. To push the capability frontier further, we explore joint human--robot pretraining with HumanWAM-Goal, a visual-goal-conditioned world--action model. Hybrid data scaling unlocks broad zero-shot generalization across both simulation and physical benchmarks, propelling post-trained RoboTwin 2.0 performance to new state-of-the-art levels: 92.70% on Clean2Clean and a substantial leap to 84.60% on Clean2Random. On physical robots, HumanWAM-Goal further exhibits emergent embodied in-context learning, dynamically adapting its manipulation behavior to unseen visual goals without parameter updates. To support reproducible scaling research in embodied AI, we open-source the Open-HumanWAM-50K corpus, data curation and pretraining pipelines, alongside the pretrained and post-trained HumanWAM checkpoints, inference code, and simulation evaluation suites.

Route-DMD: Distribution Matching Distillation with Task-Routed Mechanism for Speech Foundation Models

原文摘要

Speech foundation models built on flow matching handle generation, editing, and processing in one system, but every request costs 20-50 iterative steps, and classifier-free guidance (CFG) doubles each of them. Distribution matching distillation (DMD) trains a student that approaches the teacher's quality in a few steps, yet existing speech distillation work applies it to generation alone. We show that a distribution-matching objective does not serve every task: in separation, the noised states of erroneous student outputs deviate far from the teacher's training distribution, where its prediction is unreliable. Route-DMD therefore makes the objective task-dependent, routing the affected tasks to a regression loss and keeping decoupled distribution matching elsewhere. The student is initialized by consistency distillation, and teacher rollouts use adaptive projected guidance (APG) instead of CFG. Without CFG, the 4-step student matches the 32-step teacher on generation, editing, and processing tasks at a 4.5$\times$ end-to-end speedup.

原文摘要

Scaling computer-use agents from individual actions to complex software work requires experience that connects decisions to complete outcomes. We present NorthCUA, an integrated system for turbocharging computer-use agents through experience at scale. Its Experience Flywheel supplies diverse executable tasks to the NorthCUA Harness, which sustains long interactions, records decisions, and checks task outcomes. The Flywheel uses these records to curate verified trajectories. For unsolved tasks, recursive self-improvement evolves reusable skills and preserves verified milestones so later attempts build on earlier progress. Staged Learning combines this experience with grounding data from the Flywheel to develop GUI competence through mid-training and long-horizon supervised fine-tuning. The policy then learns from fresh attempts in the same Harness through joint desktop-web reinforcement learning, closing the loop between experience production and policy improvement. The resulting Nano, Mini, and Pro family achieves state-of-the-art results among open-source models across GUI grounding, desktop execution, and Web interaction under the reported evaluation settings. For more responsive Web workflows, NorthCUA-Ultrafast pairs direct action selection with open-ended generation on pre-RL Nano, offering a measured quality-latency tradeoff. Together, these advances establish NorthCUA as a high-performing model family and a reusable foundation for agents that carry complex software work from intent to completion.

HumanScore: Benchmarking Human Motions in Generated Videos

原文摘要

Recent advances in model architectures, compute, and data scale have driven rapid progress in video generation, producing increasingly realistic content. Yet, no prior method systematically measures how faithfully these systems render human bodies and motion dynamics. In this paper, we present HumanScore, a systematic framework to evaluate the quality of human motions in AI-generated videos. HumanScore defines six interpretable metrics spanning kinematic plausibility, temporal stability, and biomechanical consistency, enabling fine-grained diagnosis beyond visual realism alone. Through carefully designed prompts, we elicit a diverse set of movements at varying intensities and evaluate videos generated by thirteen state-of-the-art models. Our analysis reveals consistent gaps between perceptual plausibility and motion biomechanical fidelity, identifies recurrent failure modes (e.g., temporal jitter, anatomically implausible poses, and motion drift), and produces robust model rankings from quantitative and physically meaningful criteria.

ECGJev: Question-Conditioned Option Scoring for 12-Lead ECG Interpretation

原文摘要

Clinical interpretation of a 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) often requires answering targeted diagnostic questions with clear, quantifiable decisions. We introduce ECGJev, the first ECG framework built on a decision decoder, a pretrained language model trained to return a probability for every listed option. A question-conditioned bridge compresses frozen waveform and spectrogram features into 16 ECG tokens, and a two-stage procedure adapts the bridge and low-rank adapters on the decoder's native option readout using diagnostic labels alone, scoring all options for a question in one forward pass. Evaluated across four ECG benchmarks, ECGJev achieves the highest macro-F1 on CPSC2018 (80.46%), PTB-XL (71.68%) and Chapman (96.86%), and generalizes competitively to the small-sample PTB cohort. Concept probes and perturbation analyses further show that its predictions rely directly on the ECG input, remain stable under option-order and wording variations, and transfer zero-shot to unseen waveform concepts. Our code is available at https://github.com/zhuoyuanli-lab/ECGJev.

Report the tolerance, not the count: exact phylogenetic distance deconvolution with incomplete references

Haotian Tang

原文摘要

Phylogenetic distance deconvolution represents mixture-to-reference distances by weighted sources placed on a reference tree. We study the minimum number of strictly interior sources that explains a distance profile, and what incomplete references cost. On a positive-rational reduced tree we give an exact algorithm with 2^O(K) poly(B) bit complexity for a free positive mean pendant and any nonempty set of observed leaves; the single-exponential dependence on K is tight under ETH, already with every leaf observed. With arbitrary missing references and a prescribed pendant the problem is W[1]-hard in the source budget K, even on positive binary trees supplied with a strict explanation using at most K+1 sources. We then use the algorithm as an instrument. Removing references can only lower the minimum source count, never raise it, at every error tolerance. Which references are missing then matters far more than how many. Under nearest-to-source deletion a median of two references can be erased before the generating support stops being the unique smallest explanation, and that budget stays nearly flat as the panel grows (Spearman 0.10 over 20 to 361 references, against 0.82 for random loss). Discarding 7,931 of 10,575 references from a real 16S panel at random costs 1.8% of the tolerance at which one source suffices. Discarding comparably many as whole clades costs 90%. That tolerance needs neither ground truth nor an error model, which makes the model measurable on real data. The generating configuration's worst-leaf residual exceeds the one-source optimum in all 296 real ANI cases, and in 248 after refitting the common pendant. The phenomenon is not unobservable in practice. A point estimate of the count alone does not quantify it. Methods for this problem should report the tolerance at which an explanation of a given size exists.

SimPOTrans: Self-Adaptation for Offline-to-Simultaneous Speech Translation via Reinforcement Learning

Haotian Tan, Hiroki Ouchi, Sakriani Sakti

原文摘要

Simultaneous speech translation (SimulST) aims to translate ongoing speech with low latency while preserving translation quality. Recent studies have adopted large language models (LLMs) for SimulST and formulated it as a multi-turn dialogue task for efficient generation, achieving state-of-the-art performance. However, existing dialogue-style SimulST approaches typically rely on specialized training schemes to acquire simultaneous translation behavior, either using synthesized read/write trajectories, which may provide suboptimal training signals, or jointly optimizing translation quality and latency, whose competing objectives may cause optimization instability. In this paper, we introduce SimPOTrans, a reinforcement learning (RL) framework that enables offline speech translation models to self-adapt to dialogue-style SimulST. Through a simple two-stage RL post-training pipeline, SimPOTrans rewards an offline model for exhibiting translation behaviors beneficial to simultaneous scenarios when given partial speech inputs, thereby enabling offline-to-simultaneous self-adaptation without synthesized read/write trajectories or explicit latency optimization. At inference time, SimPOTrans requires no external decision policy and enables flexible quality--latency control by simply adjusting the chunk size of speech input. Experiments on the ACL 60/60 and MCIF benchmarks across three language directions (En$\rightarrow$De, En$\rightarrow$Zh, and En$\rightarrow$Ja) demonstrate that SimPOTrans outperforms several strong baselines, achieving a superior quality--latency trade-off.

Dual Gradient Consensus for Adaptive Learning to Transient Out-of-Distribution Disturbances in Quadrotor Control

Mingtian Tan, Vasileios Tzoumas

原文摘要

Quadrotor trajectory tracking under unmodeled disturbances often relies on online residual adaptation, but short out-domain residuals can corrupt the learned disturbance model when constant-step updates treat every residual gradient uniformly. We propose Dual Gradient Consensus (DGC), an adaptive-learning method for mixed in-domain/out-domain disturbances that retains the random Fourier feature model, offline BPTT policy, and least-squares adaptation of a prior domain-adaptive residual policy (DAPL) while modifying the online update step size. DGC compares each residual gradient with long- and short-term gradient memories, classifies the current adaptation regime, and uses a confidence map to suppress unreliable updates while recovering adaptation after persistent domain shifts. We evaluate DGC in numerical quadrotor trajectory tracking under four residuals that mix an in-domain component with short out-domain events. Compared with $L_1$-augmented MPC, RFF-based MPC, constant-step DAPL, and a frozen-parameter baseline, DGC achieves the lowest mean position RMSE in all four cases.

Inferring Events from Time Series using Language Models

Mingtian Tan University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Mike A Merrill Stanford University, Zachary Gottesman University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Tim Althoff Department of Computer Science, University of Washington, David Evans University of Virginia, Thomas Hartvigsen University of Virginia, Charlottesville

原文摘要

A common goal in analyzing time series data is to understand how events cause observed variations. We study whether Large Language Models (LLMs) can infer natural language events associated with time series data.We introduce an automated method for generating tasks that test a model’s ability to reason about events associated with time series data based on sports data, and develop a new benchmarking method. In experiments spanning 18 LLMs, we prompt LLMs to infer unobserved events given time series data and observe surprising successes, even when providing minimal context. We then show that combining distillation with Reinforcement Learning (RL) can improve the performance for small language models to approach that of large proprietary reasoning models.
