ArtiVidRM: Verifiable Artifact-as-Rubric Reward Modeling for Explicit Quality Articulation in Video Generation

原文摘要

Reinforcement learning has become an effective approach for improving video generation, but its success depends heavily on reliable reward models. Existing methods either map videos directly to opaque scalar scores or generate free-form rationales that are not explicitly optimized as the basis of the final judgment. We propose ArtiVidRM, a verifiable, artifact-as-rubrics video reward model that follows an observe-then-score paradigm. It first identifies visible generation artifacts and organizes them into a structured artifact list, then uses these artifacts as explicit rubrics for quality assessment. This intermediate representation grounds each score in concrete video-level evidence, making the reward more interpretable and informative for optimization. We further introduce a multi-reward reinforcement learning strategy to jointly optimize artifact prediction and quality assessment. The reward decomposes into complementary objectives that evaluate artifact prediction quality, including semantic coverage and prediction efficiency, together with a pairwise preference objective that supervises quality ranking through score differences. By jointly optimizing the intermediate artifact representation and the downstream preference prediction, the model learns to produce informative artifact lists while improving the accuracy of video quality assessment. Experiments show that ArtiVidRM achieves state-of-the-art performance on video preference benchmarks, provides effective signals for video diffusion optimization, and enables artifact-guided refinement of closed-source video generators.

FaCoDiff: Factor-Correlated Diffusion for Multivariate Probabilistic Forecasting

Jiaxuan Li, Yao Liu, Yuewei Xue, Shijie Dong, Zixiang Jin, Xiaoyu Guo, Qiao Liu

原文摘要

Multivariate probabilistic forecasting requires modeling cross-variable dependence alongside marginal uncertainty. The challenge is to learn this dependence while controlling marginal noise scales and avoiding dense covariance costs. We propose Factor-Correlated Diffusion (FaCoDiff), which couples a compact conditional statistical estimator with structured denoising. History-conditioned factor loadings use distinct coefficients for forecast-center correction, scale adjustment and noise dependence. Diagonal compensation preserves the estimated marginal noise variances, while low-rank operators enable residual Gaussian likelihood evaluation and noise transport without dense covariance storage or factorization. Factor-derived feature modulation explicitly conditions the denoiser, and a geometry-aware objective accounts for errors after noise transport. The same conditional geometry governs forward perturbations and reverse sampling. Across nine datasets, FaCoDiff achieves the lowest mean variogram score on eight datasets and ranks among the top two on 43 of 54 dataset-metric combinations in the reported comparisons. Matched ablations on Solar and Weather show that factor covariance improves mean Energy and Variogram scores under all four combinations of center and scale correction. Disrupting cross-variable sample pairings while preserving marginal trajectories worsens joint and aggregate scores on both datasets, demonstrating the predictive value of generated cross-variable dependence.

The Right Source Is Not Enough: Understanding History Interference in Speech-LLM Memory

原文摘要

Speech large language models retain audio history to support multi-turn conversations. Yet remembering an event does not ensure that its information is used only when relevant. We investigate why irrelevant historical audio changes answers even when the queried event remains represented. Controlled experiments on MOSS-Audio and MiMo-Audio show that historical values direct errors toward specific competing answers, beyond a generic effect of context length. Causal interventions distinguish two paths. In open-ended question answering, most history-value errors disappear when subsequent computation cannot directly access the irrelevant source. In multiple-choice answering, many errors persist: early historical influence is carried by question-candidate states even after direct source access is blocked. Low-dimensional interventions further separate source-role information from answer-value information. Their effects peak at different depths, and changing the source-role signal does not eliminate the causal influence of competing values. On naturally occurring errors, strengthening the queried role and counteracting the historical value each improve answers; their joint intervention gives the greatest recovery. These findings support a failure of downstream evidence use beyond source identification alone: source-role information can influence a decision without exclusively controlling which historical values affect it. Reliable conversational memory therefore requires not only retention and retrieval, but also control over how retained information enters answer computation.

Harness-S: Learning from Sibling Harnesses for Generalizable Agent Training

原文摘要

Harness evolution from a common base exhibits Locality, Complementarity, and Nonstationarity: variants repair different failures, and their utility changes as the policy learns. Rather than seeking a universally superior harness, we introduce Harness-S to selectively rescue failures of a base execution system through sibling harnesses and transfer the resulting capabilities into a single policy that remains effective under the original harness. Directional Harness Evolution develops specialized sibling harnesses along distinct repair directions, forming a reusable Sibling Harness Pool that remains fixed during policy training. Complementary Harness Rescue Training invokes this pool only when all initial attempts under the base harness fail. The same policy generates fresh rollouts under selected auxiliary harnesses, and these trajectories replace the failed group for reinforcement learning. An Adaptive Harness Router selects the Top-k variants using Harness Behavior Profiles and voting across multiple LLMs. Policy-aware profile re-anchoring refreshes this evidence as the policy learns. Across AppWorld, SWE-Gym, and DBBench, the trained policy substantially outperforms policy-only training when returned to the original base harness. Behavioral analyses and held-out cases support the transfer of harness-elicited behaviors into the policy itself. Reusing the router for Rank-1 inference provides additional gains at the same executor rollout count.

Optimal Configurations for Mordell's Problem

Xiang Ji, Tiancheng Xu, Wensheng Yu

原文摘要

Mordell's problem asks for the largest product of squared pairwise distances among $n$ points in the complex plane with a prescribed sum of squared distances from the origin. When this sum equals $n$, the maximum for $2\le n\le5$ is known to be $n^n$, attained precisely by the $n$th roots of unity up to rotation and relabeling. For $n\ge6$, Chalk showed that a regular polygon together with its center gives a larger product than the regular $n$-gon. We prove that for $6\le n\le9$ the maximum is $(n-1)^{n-1}r_n^{n(n-1)}$, where $r_n=\sqrt{n/(n-1)}$. Up to the same symmetries, the unique maximizer consists of the origin and the vertices of a regular $(n-1)$-gon of radius $r_n$. For six points, algebraic elimination reduces the proof to an exact comparison of stationary values. For seven points, we compare all twelve classes in a published classification of equilibria. For eight and nine points, rigorous interval arithmetic establishes an inequality for every admissible pair. Summing over pairs gives the sharp global bound, and the equality conditions determine the configuration. An explicit ten-point comparison and a known instability result together exclude Chalk's configuration for every $n\ge10$. For each $n$ from two through eight, Mordell's problem and the minimum-diameter problem studied by Bateman and Erdős have a common optimal configuration.

Math Foundation Formalization Agent: A General-Purpose Approach to Formalizing Mathematical Foundations

Jiaxin Xie, Guowei Dou, Xiang Ji, Wensheng Yu

原文摘要

Mathematical formalization plays an important role in establishing rigorous and machine-verifiable foundations for mathematical reasoning. With the development of large language models (LLMs) and interactive theorem provers, intelligent agents offer a promising approach to automating the formalization of mathematical theories. This paper presents the Math Foundation Formalization Agent (MFF-Agent), a general-purpose intelligent agent designed to support formalization tasks across multiple mathematical domains. The agent integrates the reasoning capabilities of large language models with the formal verification capabilities of the Rocq proof assistant. It incorporates task classification, tool-assisted execution, verification feedback, and state-based task management to support the generation, refinement, and verification of formal proofs. Unlike an approach focused on a single mathematical theory, the agent is examined through case studies involving Morse--Kelley axiomatic set theory (MK), real numbers, propositional logic, and equivalences of the axiom of choice. These cases investigate its applicability across mathematical foundations and distinguish source-level completion, interactive verification, and reproducible compilation. The results demonstrate the feasibility of a unified operational framework for heterogeneous foundation-level tasks and clarify the gap between such a framework and a fully integrated mathematical foundation.

Localizing Concepts in Visual Autoregressive Models

Nanxiang Jiang, Yang Liu, Yuanhao Wang, Min Xu

原文摘要

Understanding the internal routing of visual concepts is crucial for the safe and controllable adaptation of generative models. While concept localization has been widely studied in diffusion models, the emerging paradigm of next-scale visual autoregressive models remains largely unexplored. In this paper, we introduce LoCo, the first model-agnostic framework to localize where and when specific concepts emerge within autoregressive models. Driven by the native coarse-to-fine nature of next-scale generation, our method precisely maps conceptual knowledge across three distinct dimensions: Layer, Scale, and Position. To systematically localize and evaluate concept routing without context bias, we propose LoCoBench, a comprehensive dataset spanning 10 diverse categories. Extensive probing on image and video autoregressive models like Infinity, HunyuanImage-3.0, and InfinityStar shows that the localized positions are both interpretable and causally related to concept emergence. Building on these insights, we apply our localization method to three key applications: concept erasure, model personalization, and adversarial concept injection. Experiments demonstrate that our targeted intervention achieves state-of-the-art performance, substantially reducing computational overhead while preserving benign utility. Overall, our findings offer insights into how conceptual knowledge is routed during autoregressive generation, introducing a practical pathway for more interpretable, efficient, and secure adaptation.

原文摘要

In this paper, we observe that current models are susceptible to reward hacking, leading to a substantial overestimation of a model’s reasoning ability. This is evidenced by a high incidence of “false positives”—solutions that reach the correct answer through an unsound process.Through a systematic analysis with human verification, we establish a taxonomy of these failure modes, identifying patterns like Miracle Steps—abrupt jumps to a correct output without a valid preceding derivation. Probing experiments suggest that these Miracle Steps are linked to answer-recall shortcuts, including memorization from pretraining, where the model accesses the correct answer independently of its reasoning chain. To mitigate this systemic issue, we introduce the Rubric Reward Model (RRM), a process-oriented reward function that evaluates the entire reasoning trajectory against problem-specific rubrics. The RRM explicitly penalizes logical flaws and encourages rigorous deduction. When integrated into an RL pipeline, RRM-based training consistently outperforms outcome-only supervision across four math benchmarks.Notably, it boosts Verified Pass@1024 on AIME2024 from 26.7% to 62.6% and reduces the incidence of Miracle Steps by 71%.Our work demonstrates that rewarding the solution process is crucial for building accurate and reliable models.

LoopTool: Closing the Data–Training Loop for Robust LLM Tool Calls

原文摘要

Augmenting Large Language Models (LLMs) with external tools enables them to execute complex, multi-step tasks. However, tool learning is hampered by the static synthetic data pipelines, where data generation and model training are executed as two separate, non-interactive processes. This approach fails to focus on the model’s specific weaknesses adaptively and allows noisy labels to persist, degrading training efficiency. We introduce LoopTool, a fully automated, model-aware data evolution framework that closes this loop by tightly integrating data synthesis and model training. LoopTool iteratively evolves both the data and the model through three synergistic modules: (1) Greedy Capability Probing (GCP) diagnoses the model’s mastered and failed capabilities; (2) Judgement-Guided Label Verification (JGLV) uses an open-source judge model to find and correct annotation errors, progressively purifying the dataset; and (3) Error-Driven Data Expansion (EDDE) generates new, challenging samples based on identified failures. This closed-loop process is tightly integrated with reinforcement learning training and operates within a cost-efficient, open-source ecosystem, thereby eliminating reliance on costly APIs. Experiments show that LoopTool-8B significantly surpasses its 32B data generator and achieves new state-of-the-art results on the BFCL-v3 and ACEBench benchmarks for its scale. Our work demonstrates that closed-loop, self-refining data pipelines can dramatically enhance the tool-use capabilities of LLMs.
