Self-improving embodied agents are increasingly being developed and compared on robot simulation benchmarks. Several recent works expose the benchmark's success criteria to the learning agent, a practice we call Criteria Exposure (CE). These criteria, originally written to verify policies trained by imitation learning, often demand more than the corresponding language instructions, so a score from such a verifier may not faithfully reflect whether the instructed task was completed, especially for robot-control programs written by an agent. As embodied coding agents report ever higher benchmark scores, a natural question arises: when a coding agent is exposed to the benchmark's criteria, does it generate code that better performs the instructed task, or code that simply overfits to the verification criteria? We conduct controlled experiments with a self-improving agent with and without CE, and find that with CE the agent quickly produces code with a higher success rate under the given criteria, but this advantage disappears when the criteria are changed slightly without departing from the original instructions. More importantly, the skills the agent develops under CE transfer poorly across tasks. We further propose instruction-faithful criteria and show that they better reflect the performance of agent-generated programs.

OdysseyArena: Benchmarking Large Language Models For Long-Horizon, Active and Inductive Interactions

原文摘要

The advancement of Large Language Models (LLMs) has catalyzed the development of autonomous agents capable of navigating complex environments. However, existing evaluations primarily adopt a deductive paradigm, where agents execute tasks based on explicitly provided rules and static goals, often within limited planning horizons. Crucially, this neglects the inductive necessity for agents to discover latent transition laws from experience autonomously, which is the cornerstone for enabling agentic foresight and sustaining strategic coherence. To bridge this gap, we introduce OdysseyArena, which re-centers agent evaluation on long-horizon, active, and inductive interactions. We formalize and instantiate four primitives, translating abstract transition dynamics into concrete interactive environments. Building upon this, we establish OdysseyArena-Lite for standardized benchmarking, providing a set of 120 tasks to measure an agent's inductive efficiency and long-horizon discovery. Pushing further, we introduce OdysseyArena-Challenge to stress-test agent stability across extreme interaction horizons (e.g., > 200 steps). Extensive experiments on 15+ leading LLMs reveal that even frontier models exhibit a deficiency in inductive scenarios, identifying a critical bottleneck in the pursuit of autonomous discovery in complex environments. Plan-to-Synthesis: Cross-City Human Mobility Generation via Semantic Latent Flow Matching

原文摘要

Human mobility generation aims to synthesize realistic point-of-interest (POI) visitation trajectories and has become an important tool for travel behavior modeling, transportation management, and urban planning. Existing diffusion-based methods achieve high fidelity but require per-city generation, given the inherent heterogeneity of geospatial locations and POI categories, while large language model-based methods generalize across cities but remain too costly at scale, especially for long-horizon trajectory generation. To address this, we propose SeMoFlow, a Semantic human Mobility generation framework based on latent Flow matching. We first encode heterogeneous POIs from different cities into a shared cross-city representation space via hierarchical Semantic IDs, where shared prefixes capture transferable semantics, and successive codes progressively refine the representation toward individual POIs. Building on the semantic IDs, SeMoFlow follows a plan-to-synthesis hierarchical generation paradigm, in which an autoregressive planner generates coarse-grained semantic and recurrence patterns, and a flow matching realizer synthesizes fine-grained suffix latents. The generated latents are subsequently decoded and grounded to concrete POIs. Extensive experiments on large-scale multi-city datasets show that SeMoFlow achieves higher trajectory fidelity than existing baselines, preserves city-specific mobility motifs, and supports both joint multi-city generation and effective cross-city transfer. The code is available at \href{https://github.com/urban-mobility-generation/SeMoFlow}{https://github.com/urban-mobility-generation/SeMoFlow}.

AgenticCity-Bench: Longitudinal Multimodal Observations of Urban Dynamics with Agentic Reasoning

原文摘要

City systems are shaped by interactions among infrastructure, human activity, and environmental conditions. Existing earth observation and urban benchmarks are limited in unified modeling and in capturing their joint dynamics. We introduce AgenticCity-Bench, a longitudinal multimodal benchmark for multi-layer unified state modeling and agentic city task reasoning. The benchmark covers 16 cities in 12 countries across six continents from 2000 to 2025, and includes 18 modalities spanning urban function, activity, and environmental state. It organizes heterogeneous data sources around a common spatial reference and calendar index while preserving spatial and temporal coverage, provenance and tile-level availability. On this foundation, AgenticCity-Bench supports urban cross-modal translation together with diverse agentic city tasks involving forecasting, planning and resource analysis. This study provides a unified benchmark for studying the transition from multimodal urban and earth observation to joint understanding and agentic city decision-making. The dataset is available at https://anonymous.4open.science/r/AgenticCity-Bench.

原文摘要

Long-term conversational memory is a core capability for LLM-baseddialogue systems, yet existing benchmarks and evaluation protocolsprimarily focus on surface-level factual recall. In realistic interactions, appropriate responses often depend onimplicit constraints such as user state, goals, or values that are notexplicitly queried later. To evaluate this setting, we introduce LoCoMo-Plus, a benchmarkfor assessing cognitive memory under cue–trigger semantic disconnect, where models must retain and apply latent constraints across longconversational contexts. We further show that conventional string-matching metrics and explicittask-type prompting are misaligned with such scenarios, and propose aunified evaluation framework based on constraint consistency.Experiments across diverse backbone models, retrieval-based methods, andmemory systems demonstrate that cognitive memory remains challenging andreveals failures not captured by existing benchmarks. Our code and evaluation framework are publicly available at https://github.com/xjtuleeyf/Locomo-Plus.
