Confucius4-R2T2: A Stable-Prefix Streaming ASR Model for Real Real-Time Transcription

原文摘要

Streaming speech recognition is increasingly consumed by machines, such as translators and voice agents, that act on each token as it appears. A token that is later revised costs wasted work or a wrong action. In this work, we present Confucius4-R2T2 (short for Real Real-Time Transcription), a stable-prefix streaming ASR model that never modifies its earlier output while maintaining high accuracy and low latency. R2T2 is obtained by post-training Qwen3-ASR-1.7B on 1,500 hours of Chinese and English audio while freezing its pre-trained audio encoder and projector. The adaptation is based on the concept of Longest Stable Prefix (LSP), a new notion that we introduce in this work. We prove that LSP is monotone under the prefix order, consistent with the full-audio output, and maximal among labels that equal a whole earlier output. Learning from LSP labels converts a full-context model into a stable-prefix streaming one without any architectural change. Extensive evaluations show that R2T2 brings streaming recognition close to the base model's full-context quality while delivering stable text with low emission lag. Its gains extend beyond the post-training languages, demonstrating a practical path from full-context ASR to stable streaming. Spatial Organization Is Accessibility Structure: Hierarchical Screen Reading of Mobile UIs

原文摘要

Screen readers for blind and low-vision (BLV) users flatten mobile UIs into a linear sequence. Modern mobile UIs, however, contain dozens of elements grouped by spatial layout. Such linear access is ill-suited for BLV users, who must infer each element's meaning and which elements form a functional unit. Drawing on a quantitative TalkBack audit and formative interviews, we present Spatial Screen Reader (SeeR), which builds a function-aware hierarchy from accessibility metadata and provides unit summaries with hierarchical navigation. Compared with TalkBack, SeeR reduces non-informative focus stops by 82.1% and navigation steps by 52.7%. With ten BLV participants, summaries helped them connect controls to their functions and skip nonessential elements, especially on unfamiliar pages, though extra navigation levels added effort when the target was already known. These findings recast spatial organization as accessibility information: apps and platforms should expose it, rather than leaving screen readers to infer it post hoc.

原文摘要

Large language model agents rely on in-context policy documents encoding diverse business rules. As businesses scale, these documents grow, creating substantial computational overhead and motivating internalization methods that embed policy into model priors. Prior work focuses on generic prompts, but we find agentic policies span multiple complexity levels and demand heavier reasoning, posing greater challenges. We introduce an agentic benchmark generator with Controllable Complexity in agent policy across four levels, enabling systematic evaluation of agents under increasing complexity and providing a testbed for policy internalization. Our analysis shows that workflow-governing policy specifications are the hardest to reason over, and that SFT on gold trajectories with chain-of-thought is data-hungry and struggles at high complexity. We propose Category-Aware Policy Continued Pretraining, an automated pipeline that analyzes policies, extracts key specifications, categorizes them into factual, behavioral, and conditional types, and isolates those driving workflow complexity. This enables targeted “therapy” by synthesizing specialized training data for each type and improving internalization via an autoregressive pretraining loss. Extensive experiments show our synthetic data and objective consistently improve performance. Combined with SFT, our method outperforms the baseline across different settings, especially in data-sparse and high-complexity regimes, with gains up to 41% and 22% on Qwen-3-32B. Overall, we achieve 97.3% prompt reduction on our benchmark, and on \tau-Bench we further improve performance while reducing prompt requirements with very limited SFT data.
