Millimeter-wave radar resolves the micrometer displacements of a moving body as micro-Doppler, enabling gait, gesture, activity, pose and vital-sign sensing. Each task relies on a downstream model trained on real data, yet radar datasets lag orders of magnitude behind vision and language. Brute-force collection will not close that gap, and existing synthesis methods (forward-only simulators, learned generators and static-scene inverse renderers) cannot fit a real capture of a moving body, leaving a sim2real gap. We present 4D Point Splatting (4DPS), a physics-based differentiable renderer that fits an explicit moving scene to a real capture. Using the synchronized camera to initialize the room and body, we represent the scene as oriented points carrying material, normal and velocity, and splat each point into range and Doppler bins. Our output is the raw complex return a real radar records, so we apply the same signal processing on the rendered data to obtain any representation for training any SOTA downstream model. We fit 235 sequences on HuPR and 100 on RT-Pose, two datasets with different radars. Our reconstructions set the state of the art, with median correlations of 0.940 and 0.830 on range-azimuth, 0.829 and 0.695 on range-Doppler, and 0.988 and 0.966 on micro-Doppler. Our renders also set the state of the art in downstream sim2real gap. On RT-Pose, a pose model trained on them reaches 21.9 cm MPJPE on real data, against 16.7 cm for real training and 127.6 cm for the RF-Genesis baseline, where both the rendered- and real-trained models learn nearly the same features. Our custom CUDA kernels fit a sequence in 5.7 minutes on HuPR and 12.9 on RT-Pose on one H100, making dataset-scale inverse rendering of mmWave radar possible for the first time. This work can enable synthetic data generation for any human-centered downstream task and model, and scene editing for data augmentation.

In LLM-based recommendation, memory acts as a user-level agent in a memory-augmented backbone. Yet users and items remain asymmetric: only the user is given a structured profile; it enters a bandwidth-limited reranker prompt; and it is frozen after warmup. We recast LLM-based recommendation as an agentic-communication process in four stages: BUILD a self-description, TRANSMIT it along the collaborative graph, UNDERSTAND the other side, and SYNC it from the next interaction. This formulation reveals three unresolved communication challenges: the item side never produces a comparable self-description (one-sided BUILD); profile-level signals enter only the bandwidth-limited reranker prompt rather than retrieval, where they would not compete for context tokens (prompt-trapped UNDERSTAND); and the user's description is frozen after warmup with no principled update rule (absent SYNC). We instantiate the missing stages as HARP (Homophily-aware Agentic Recommendation via dual Profiles), a training-free, three-operator addition to a frozen LLM backbone: a rule-extracted symmetric item profile (zero extra LLM calls), a channel-decomposable profile-level homophily H(phi_u, phi_i) consumed at retrieval time rather than inside the reranker prompt, and a single-pass reflective update realising in-context profile evolution without any gradient step. On four public benchmarks (Yelp, Books, MovieTV, Goodreads), HARP lifts Hit@1 over the strongest published baseline by 6.9%-24.0%, with family-wise Holm-corrected p < 1e-9 on every dataset. Ablations and a per-case attribution study show that the operators contribute complementary gains, with the retrieval-side gate as the main source; we also report the trade-off introduced by the reflective pass. We formulate agentic communication and provide a training-free instantiation. Code is available at https://github.com/Jove-Zhen/HARP.

Beyond Prompt Injection: The Tool Update Gap in LLM Agent Security

Shiyu Kan, Yue Qi, Yufei Han, Xinjian Luo, Guojun Xiong, Xiaofeng Gao

原文摘要

Large language model based agents increasingly rely on external tools to invoke services and interact with web resources. These tools can evolve through software updates, yet agentic frameworks may continue trusting them without re-verifying their safety after implementation changes. This tool update gap creates a supply-chain vulnerability in agentic systems: because updated tool code executes outside the LLM's context window, malicious functionality embedded in tool updates can bypass defenses centered on model-visible interactions, leaving agents exposed to stealthy, persistent threats that existing in-context defenses can hardly address. To thoroughly investigate this threat, we introduce ETUDE (Exploiting Tool Updates for Direct Execution), an attack that embeds malicious functionality into updates of initially benign tools to produce compromised tools, while preserving their legitimate tool functionality. Unlike prompt-based attacks, ETUDE operates entirely outside the LLM's context and requires no adversarial instructions, thereby bypassing defenses restricted to model-visible content. We evaluate ETUDE across three representative attack workloads and seven widely used commercial and open-source agentic frameworks, including Gemini CLI, Codex CLI, and Claude Code. The results show that ETUDE achieves a 97.6% ASR while maintaining a 95.9% legitimate task completion rate. We further examine existing defenses and find that they provide insufficient protection against this threat. These findings expose a fundamental blind spot in current agent security practices: trust established for a tool does not necessarily remain valid after its implementation updates.

Agentic AI in Automated Markets

原文摘要

Automated markets increasingly host autonomous, learning trading agents and are powered by formulaic automated market makers (AMMs). We study how heterogeneous agent behavior shapes stress, risk-adjusted performance, liquidity, and volatility in these types of markets. Three behavioral archetypes are modeled as agentic reinforcement learning (RL) systems: a rational arbitrageur, a manipulator, and a retail herd-follower. Each archetype is defined by its reward function within a common, asset-agnostic exposure-control environment, and each is trained with a value-based Deep Q-Network (DQN) and with REINFORCE using a learned baseline. A pilot on hourly cryptocurrency data (AAVE, ETC, SUI) motivates the hypotheses. Herd-followers produce the most frequent but shortest stress episodes, manipulators the fewest but most persistent, and rational agents the most stable rolling Sharpe ratios despite higher return volatility. SHAP attributions tie these patterns to drawdown and cross-asset signals, short-term volatility and position state, and momentum, respectively. The results motivate behavior-specific regulation rather than uniform limits on volatility or turnover.

From Ripple to Boundary: Deterministic Impact Boundaries for LLM-Based Software Evolution

Jiameng Bai, Zhitao Wang, Long Wang, Keyue Qian, Sai Wu

原文摘要

The landscape of software evolution is undergoing a fundamental paradigm shift in the era of Large Language Models. As industrial software engineering increasingly transitions toward design-driven code generation, the bottleneck of evolution has shifted from writing code to maintaining deterministic consistency between multi-source design assets and the generated code. When a design asset changes, LLM agents currently lack a deterministic impact boundary to identify which code must be evolved, leading to two failure modes: hallucinating missing changes or breaking unrelated code. Probabilistic approaches, such as semantic retrieval or text-based diffing, fail to capture the structural ripple effects across highly interconnected design dependencies. We propose a paradigm shift from probabilistic semantic retrieval to deterministic structural constraints. We formalize the design assets as a Knowledge Graph and organize them into a content-addressed Merkle Directed Acyclic Graph. Our key insight reveals a topological isomorphism between the logical ripple effect of a design change and the content hash propagation within the DAG. By leveraging this, we transform ambiguous impact analysis into verifiable structural operations. Through a two-phase diffing process, we extract a precise causal chain that defines the exact modification boundary. This boundary enables deterministic context injection, providing the LLM agent with strictly scoped code and design updates, thereby fundamentally guaranteeing evolution safety. As a by-product, the KG serves as an agent-queryable knowledge base for natural language design retrieval. Early deployment on a large-scale industrial payment platform demonstrates that our mechanism successfully computes the exact impact boundary and generates incremental code modifications that meet the expected design changes.

原文摘要

Model Editing, also known as knowledge editing, is receiving increasing attention in the field of Large Language Models (LLMs). However, existing model editing approaches predominantly focus on knowledge-level or static visual domains, overlooking dynamic semantics. This paper exploratively applies six representative model editing methods (FT, IKE, MEND, SERAC, MEMIT and AlphaEdit) to Video Large Language Models (Vid-LLMs) and introduces the first benchmark specifically designed for Vid-LLMs editing—VMEB (Vid-LLMs Model Editing Benchmark)—systematically extending model editing research from static modalities to dynamic video scenarios. We position this work as a forward-looking benchmark and a foundational diagnostic study: in the video paradigm, our evaluation dimensions encompass traditional metrics including Reliability, Locality, and Generality, while also introducing a video-specific metric: Robustness. Based on experimental results, we analyze the strengths and limitations of existing model editing approaches, and identify new challenges and research directions for the future development of the model editing field within the context of multimodal and video paradigms. Our benchmark is available at https://github.com/Sakabamrisa/VMEB.

原文摘要

This paper investigates the problem of safe decoding for Large Language Models (LLMs) during inference, particularly under jailbreak attacks. Previous approaches typically either detect malicious content or regulate the decoding alignment of LLMs to mitigate such attacks. Although effective in defending against attacks, these methods often over-reject benign content, limiting their generalizability in real-world scenarios where harmful and benign information coexist. Towards this end, we propose an innovative framework named Sequence-level risk Accumulation for calibrating test-time alignment (SEAT). Specifically, SEAT introduces a reward-guided branch decoding paradigm to incorporate safety awareness during generation. To balance the detection of harmful content with the accurate response to benign information, SEAT employs a sequence-level risk monitor that smooths risk signals over the entire sequence, preventing over-confident refusals for certain tokens. Furthermore, we conduct extensive experiments on four attack benchmarks and two neutral datasets, comparing SEAT with eight state-of-the-art baselines. Consequently, the results demonstrate that SEAT achieves superior performance both in defending against jailbreak attacks and in generating high-quality responses on neutral datasets. Our code is available at https://github.com/ShanwenTan/SEAT.

Evolving Sparsity: Leveraging Token Importance Dynamics for Efficient LLM Decoding with Sparse Attention

Ruizi Han Harbin Institute of Technology, Miao Zhang Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), Ziyue Qiao Great Bay University, Liqiang Nie Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) and Shandong University

原文摘要

Efficient long-context inference remains a major challenge for large language models (LLMs), as the cost of attention computation during auto-regressive decoding grows linearly with the context length. Recent sparse attention methods attempt to reduce the computational burden by selecting a subset of tokens at each step, while most rely on static importance scores that are repeatedly computed over the entire cache, overlooking the relational dynamics of the decoding process. In this work, we revisit sparse attention in LLMs and propose to model token importance as a dynamic process that evolves over decoding steps and propagates through model layers. To efficiently measure token importance, we propose two lightweight mechanisms: (1) Cross-Step Accumulation, which incrementally maintains long-term, query-agnostic importance via decayed accumulation of sparse attention scores, avoiding recomputing the importance of decoded tokens; and (2) Cross-Layer Propagation, which leverages the model’s intrinsic Retrieval Heads to compute query-aware indices and efficiently propagate them across layers; Together, these mechanisms preserve both stable context memory and adaptive query relevance while reduce redundant computation. We evaluate our approach on PG-19, RULER, LongBench, and mathematical reasoning benchmarks using models employing Multi-Head and Grouped-Query Attention. Under varying KV cache budgets, our method consistently outperforms prior sparse attention baselines, approaches full attention performance in most settings, and achieves speedups of up to 5.36\times for attention latency and 2.33\times for end-to-end decoding. Our code is available at: https://github.com/iLearn-Lab/ACL26-EvoSparse.

ETR: Entropy Trend Reward for Efficient Chain-of-Thought Reasoning

Xuan Xiong, Huan Liu Amazon, Li Gu Concordia University, Zhixiang Chi University of Toronto and Huawei Technologies Ltd., Yue Qiu, Yuanhao YU Huawei Technologies Ltd., Yang Wang Concordia University

原文摘要

Chain-of-thought (CoT) reasoning improves large language model performance on complex tasks, but often produces excessively long and inefficient reasoning traces. Existing methods shorten CoTs using length penalties or global entropy reduction, implicitly assuming that low uncertainty is desirable throughout reasoning. We show instead that reasoning efficiency is governed by the trajectory of uncertainty. CoTs with dominant downward entropy trends are substantially shorter. Motivated by this insight, we propose Entropy Trend Reward (ETR), a trajectory-aware objective that encourages progressive uncertainty reduction while allowing limited local exploration. We integrate ETR into Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO) and evaluate it across multiple reasoning models and challenging benchmarks. ETR consistently achieves a superior accuracy–efficiency trade-off, improving DeepSeek-R1-Distill-7B by +9.9% accuracy while reducing CoT length by 67% across four benchmarks.
