ReListen: Training-Free Evidence Localization in Hour-Long Audio with Frozen Audio Language Models

Ming-Hao Hsu, Shujie Liu, Yuxuan Hu, Yuxiang Wang, Yingda Shen, Jinyu Li, Zhizheng Wu

Audio language models are meant to answer questions from the audio itself, but an hour-long recording rarely fits in their context, and the answer often depends on a few seconds of it. Transcribing the recording first makes it fit but discards sounds and voices, while systems that return to the audio must be trained for this behavior. We propose ReListen, a training-free method in which a frozen audio language model finds its own evidence before answering. In a Jev-style scan, the model scores each 20-second window by the probability that it helps answer the question, and it then answers from the highest-scoring minute. This minute overlaps the annotated evidence far more often than transcript retrieval, for 88.5% of VoiceGiraffe questions. Without any change, the same scan also grounds events on LAT-Bench as well as a model trained for temporal grounding. Answering from it matches or exceeds hearing the whole recording with a small fraction of the audio, and on VoiceGiraffe it exceeds a transcript of the whole recording by 9.2 points. The selected evidence is also worth hearing rather than reading. Given the same excerpts, reading their transcript matches listening on speech content, but listening is clearly more accurate on questions about sounds and voices. Moreover, ReListen answers faster than every transcript-based system, and its memory stays constant even for recordings too long to hear whole on one GPU. Therefore, a frozen audio language model can search hour-long recordings by itself, without a transcript or additional training.

Think Globally, Generate Personally: Multi-View Thinking with Adaptive Generation for Generative Recommendation

Yuxuan Hu, Yingyi Zhang, Wenlin Zhang, Chao Zhang, Haotian Nan, Ziwei Liu, Jiancheng Dong, Tongzhou Wu 等 14 位作者

Semantic-ID-based (SID) generative recommendation (GR) represents each item as a sequence of discrete tokens and predicts the next item through autoregressive SID generation. However, existing methods face two challenges. First, insufficient shared context modeling for user sequences: full-history and recent behaviors provide overlapping yet complementary evidence, but modeling them within a single sequence may dilute current cues, whereas processing them through separate streams may fail to coordinate them. Second, insufficient personalized adaptation in progressive SID decisions: although decoder states evolve with generated prefixes, existing models typically use a shared output-side transformation across recommendation instances, without explicitly selecting a transformation suited to the current user need. To address these challenges, we propose Multi-View Thinking with Adaptive Generation (MV-Thinker), a framework that Thinks Globally and Generates Personally. First, Multi-View Temporal Thinking uses view-specific thinking queries and readers over overlapping full-history and recent-history views, coordinating both sources into complementary user-conditioned contexts before SID generation. Second, Hierarchical Residual Adaptation organizes lightweight adapters into nested residual paths before a shared vocabulary projection, adaptively transforming context-bearing decoder states for SID decisions. Extensive experiments on four public datasets demonstrate that MV-Thinker consistently outperforms strong discriminative and generative recommendation baselines across multiple ranking metrics. The implementation code and datasets are available on: https://anonymous.4open.science/r/MV-Thinker

ODE Policy: Robot Learning via Action Dynamics, Not Actions

Jindou Jia, Jingliang Li, Kuangji Zuo, Tuo An, Yuxuan Hu, Mengfei Zhao, Bofan Lyu, Jiaqi Bai 等 12 位作者

Most robot policies, whether trained by imitation learning (IL) or reinforcement learning (RL), map observations to action values at discrete control steps and leave the continuity of physical motion to be learned implicitly. We propose ODE policy, which learns the dynamics of the action rather than the action itself. A neural ordinary differential equation (ODE) learns the vector field of the action by matching the integrated actions to the targets over short action chunks in IL and single control steps in RL. A lightweight diversity head captures multi-modal behavior by randomizing the direction of the field. At deployment, each action is integrated from the previous one, so the executed trajectory is continuous by construction. We evaluate it as a visuomotor policy, as the action head of vision-language-action (VLA) and world action models (WAMs), and as the actor of model-based RL against 14 baselines on unimanual, bimanual, dexterous, locomotion, and loco-manipulation tasks. In IL, against flow matching, it reaches 5.9$\times$ the success, 5.4$\times$ the generalization, and 3.9$\times$ the mode balance after one epoch, and generates actions 10.8$\times$ faster. It mostly moves more smoothly than human demonstrations. On 14 real-world tasks across single-arm, dual-arm, dexterous, and humanoid robots, it achieves the highest success rate. In RL, it further speeds up SuperMimic for humanoid motion tracking and smooths its actions. Efficient in learning, data, parameters, and execution, ODE policy offers a promising path to scaling robot learning.

Does Your Generalist Skill Optimizer Really Incentivize Agentic Tasks? Rethinking Skill Optimization via Bipartite Attribution

Jiawei Zhou, Bo Peng, Yuxuan Huang, Ming Zhang, Youbang Sun, Xiang Wang, Chaochao Lu

Skill optimizers adapt an agent to long-horizon tasks, such as repairing a terminal environment, by rewriting its skill, a natural-language procedure in its context, and keeping the edits that raise success on a small dev set. On such tasks success is noisy, so a gain on a small dev set does not show that an edit helps, and a success score does not show what the edit costs. We introduce BiPA, which replays an optimizer's acceptance rule on candidates identical to its seed to measure what selection alone reports, and records each episode as a bipartite graph of turns and the text they read to trace extra input tokens to the behavior behind them. Across three optimizers, three agentic benchmarks and two models, the learned skills succeed about as often as their hand-written seed, 0.1 points higher on average. Their dev gains vanish on test: keeping the best of several candidates on at most 30 tasks reports gains this large even when none changed. They read about 16% more input tokens: the optimizers almost always add rules, half to re-check work and some to act one call at a time, and the agent follows them as extra turns, each re-sending the whole conversation. Four principles follow: accept an edit only if its gain exceeds what selection alone reports; charge it for the turns it adds, not for its length; let the editor delete and merge rules; show it what earlier rules cost. Code is available at https://github.com/valleysprings/BiPA.git.

MathCanvas: Intrinsic Visual Chain-of-Thought for Multimodal Mathematical Reasoning

Weikang Shi, Aldrich Yu Information Engineering, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Rongyao Fang The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Houxing Ren Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Ke Wang The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Aojun Zhou, Changyao Tian, Xinyu Fu Huawei Technologies Ltd. 等 14 位作者

While Large Language Models (LLMs) have excelled in textual reasoning, they struggle with mathematical domains like geometry that intrinsically rely on visual aids. Existing approaches to Visual Chain-of-Thought (VCoT) are often limited by rigid external tools or fail to generate the high-fidelity, strategically-timed diagrams necessary for complex problem-solving. To bridge this gap, we introduce MathCanvas, a comprehensive framework designed to endow unified Large Multimodal Models (LMMs) with intrinsic VCoT capabilities for mathematics. Our approach consists of two phases. First, a Visual Manipulation stage pre-trains the model on a novel 15.2M-pair corpus, comprising 10M caption-to-diagram pairs (MathCanvas-Imagen) and 5.2M step-by-step editing trajectories (MathCanvas-Edit), to master diagram generation and editing. Second, a Strategic Visual-Aided Reasoning stage fine-tunes the model on MathCanvas-Instruct, a new 219K-example dataset of interleaved visual-textual reasoning paths, teaching it when and how to leverage visual aids. To facilitate rigorous evaluation, we introduce MathCanvas-Bench, a challenging benchmark with 3K problems that require models to produce interleaved visual-textual solutions. Our model, BAGEL-Canvas, trained under this framework, achieves an 86% relative improvement over strong LMM baselines on MathCanvas-Bench, demonstrating excellent generalization to other public math benchmarks. Our work provides a complete toolkit—framework, datasets, and benchmark—to unlock complex, human-like visual reasoning in LMMs.

Sparse-RL: Breaking the Memory Wall in LLM Reinforcement Learning via Stable Sparse Rollouts

Sijia Luo, Xiaokang Zhang Renmin University of China, Yuxuan Hu, Bohan Zhang, Ke Wang, Jinbo Su Renmin University of China, Mengshu Sun, Lei Liang 等 9 位作者

Reinforcement Learning (RL) has become essential for eliciting complex reasoning capabilities in Large Language Models (LLMs). However, the substantial memory overhead of storing Key-Value (KV) caches during long-horizon rollouts acts as a critical bottleneck, often prohibiting efficient training on limited hardware. While existing KV compression techniques offer a remedy for inference, directly applying them to RL training induces a severe policy mismatch, leading to catastrophic performance collapse. To address this, we introduce Sparse-RL, which empowers stable RL training under sparse rollouts. We show that instability arises from a fundamental policy mismatch among the dense old policy, the sparse sampler policy, and the learner policy. To mitigate this issue, Sparse-RL incorporates Sparsity-Aware Rejection Sampling and Importance-based Reweighting to correct the off-policy bias introduced by compression-induced information loss. Experimental results show that Sparse-RL reduces rollout overhead compared to dense baselines while preserving the performance. Furthermore, Sparse-RL inherently implements sparsity-aware training, significantly enhancing model robustness during sparse inference deployment.
