Recycling a target model's own predictions offers a training-free source of proposals for speculative decoding. In vision-language models, however, existing recycling indexes predictions by the last token alone, conflating predictions computed under different images and prefixes; we find that such reuse fails most often at image-sensitive decoding states. Longer keys reduce this aliasing but match fewer states. We introduce \method, which stores target predictions under one-, two-, and three-token keys: contextual memories live only for the current request and are thus implicitly conditioned on its image, while token-level memory persists across requests to retain coverage. At each lookup, entropy-confidence weighting fuses the retrieved predictions according to their key specificity and concentration. Best-first search composes the fused transitions into a candidate tree, supplemented by suffix-matched continuations, and one target pass verifies the tree under greedy decoding. Without training or an auxiliary draft model, \method\ achieves mean speedups over autoregressive decoding of $1.66\speed$ and $1.56\speed$ across seven single-turn benchmarks on Qwen2.5-VL-7B and LLaVA-1.6-7B, exceeding the strongest training-free baseline, Token Recycling ($1.51\speed$ and $1.37\speed$). Humans understand long and complex texts by relying on a holistic semantic representation of the content. This global view helps organize prior knowledge, interpret new information, and integrate evidence dispersed across a document, as revealed by the Mindscape-Aware Capability of humans in psychology. Current Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems lack such guidance and therefore struggle with long-context tasks. In this paper, we propose Mindscape-Aware RAG (MiA-RAG), the first framework to formulate mindscape-aware retrieval and generation as a unified conditioning paradigm for LLM-based RAG. MiA-RAG builds a mindscape through hierarchical summarization and conditions both retrieval and generation on this global semantic representation. This enables the retriever to form enriched query embeddings and the generator to reason over retrieved evidence within a coherent global context. We evaluate MiA-RAG across diverse long-context and bilingual benchmarks for evidence-based understanding and global sense-making. It consistently surpasses baselines, and further analysis shows that it aligns local details with a coherent global representation, enabling more human-like long-context retrieval and reasoning.

The proliferation of orbital sensing data and the real-time demands of emerging global services are pushing low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks from bent-pipe relays toward intelligent onboard processing. This shift confronts a fundamental tension, where modern artificial intelligence (AI) training paradigms require intensive computation, abundant memory, and stable connectivity, all of which are scarce under the dynamic topologies, intermittent links, and severe size, weight, and power (SWaP) constraints of satellite networks. Addressing this tension demands rethinking AI workflows, from training and inference to the emerging deployment of large language models (LLMs), under a constraint-aware design philosophy. To the best of our knowledge, this paper provides the first survey that jointly covers all three, whereas prior surveys examine these aspects in isolation. We begin by identifying the deployment challenge of satellite intelligence (SI) and deriving design principles for SI. We then examine three advancing paradigms: i) distributed training, where federated learning (FL) and split learning (SL) enable satellite-ground co-training under resource limitations; ii) collaborative inference, which exploits single-satellite, multi-satellite, and satellite-ground architectures to meet real-time service demands; and iii) on-orbit LLM adaptation and serving, which tackles the frontier challenge of deploying LLMs under severe orbital constraints and resource-aware serving. Finally, we identify open challenges and future directions. By bridging the AI and satellite networks, this paper provides a research roadmap for the implementation of space-native AI technologies.

Electronic circular dichroism (ECD) is a key experimental probe for assigning the absolute configuration of chiral molecules, but interpreting measured spectra often requires costly time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) calculations. The few existing machine learning methods for ECD prediction are faster, but their accuracy still falls well short of that required for experimental applications. Here we introduce PhysECD, a parity-aware E(3)-equivariant framework that builds the spectrum from its underlying quantum-chemical quantities, ensuring correct chiroptical symmetry by construction. To improve generalization and support experimental applications, we construct SCECD, a conformer-resolved dataset of 578,104 computed spectra spanning diverse natural products with one to five stereocentres. PhysECD predicts ECD spectra from conformer geometries in milliseconds, achieving state-of-the-art accuracy on the CMCDS benchmark and SCECD. Validation against 77 experimental spectra further demonstrates that PhysECD can serve as a fast alternative to TDDFT for assigning the absolute configuration of complex chiral molecules.

Locating relevant evidence in long inputs is a core capability of Multimodal Large Language Models. Prior studies attribute this capability to retrieval heads, a sparse set of attention heads that transfer information from the context to the output. However, these analyses are confined to a limited set of modalities and the corresponding models. Moreover, how retrieval heads can be leveraged to enhance the model calls for further exploration. In this paper, we ask whether this mechanism expands together with the input modalities of the model. Taking audio-visual input as a newly added modality, we construct paired inputs in which the same answer is either spoken or shown on screen. With the evidence content fixed, retrieval heads remain sparse in the new modality and are shared to a large extent across modalities. Across 18 language, vision-language, and omni-modal checkpoints, omni-modal models largely preserve the retrieval heads of their backbones. Ablating these heads eliminates nearly all audio-visual retrieval. The heads shared across modalities make up fewer than 2\% of all heads, yet ablating them also degrades document understanding, spatial perception, and visual mathematics. Building on these findings, we turn retrieval heads into a target of optimization by training their attention with a ranking objective. This raises the page Recall@1 of Qwen3-VL-8B on MMDocIR by 6.03 points and improves document retrieval across three model families. Functional attention heads can thus serve both as a lens on multimodal models and as a target for improving them.

Emotional coordination is a core property of human interaction that shapes how relational meaning is constructed in real time. While text-based affect inference has become increasingly feasible, prior approaches often treat sentiment as a deterministic point estimate for individual speakers, failing to capture the inherent subjectivity, latent ambiguity, and sequential coupling found in mutual exchanges. We introduce LLM-MC-Affect, a probabilistic framework that characterizes emotion not as a static label, but as a continuous latent probability distribution defined over an affective space. By leveraging stochastic LLM decoding and Monte Carlo estimation, the methodology approximates these distributions to derive high-fidelity sentiment trajectories that explicitly quantify both central affective tendencies and perceptual ambiguity. These trajectories enable a structured analysis of interpersonal coupling through sequential cross-correlation and slope-based indicators, identifying leading or lagging influences between interlocutors. To validate the interpretive capacity of this approach, we utilize teacher-student instructional dialogues as a representative case study, where our quantitative indicators successfully distill high-level interaction insights such as effective scaffolding. This work establishes a scalable and deployable pathway for understanding interpersonal dynamics, offering a generalizable solution that extends beyond education to broader social and behavioral research.

The Key-Value (KV) cache introduces substantial memory overhead during large language model (LLM) inference. Although existing vector quantization (VQ) methods reduce KV cache usage and provide flexible representational capacity across bit-widths, they suffer severe performance degradation at ultra-low bit-widths due to key cache outliers that hinder effective codebook utilization. To address this challenge, we propose VecInfer, a novel VQ method for aggressive KV cache compression while enabling efficient inference. By applying smooth and Hadamard transformations, VecInfer suppresses outliers in the key cache, enabling the codebook to comprehensively cover the original data distribution and thereby reducing quantization difficulty. To facilitate efficient deployment, we design an optimized CUDA kernel that fuses computation with dequantization to minimize memory access overhead. Extensive evaluations demonstrate that VecInfer consistently outperforms existing quantization baselines across both long-context understanding and mathematical reasoning tasks. With only 2-bit quantization, VecInfer achieves performance comparable to full precision, while delivering up to \mathbf{2.7\times} speedup in large-batch self-attention computation and \mathbf{8.3\times} reduction in single-batch end-to-end latency on Llama-3.1-8B with a 196k sequence length.

Long context inference scenarios have become increasingly important for large language models, yet they introduce significant computational latency. While prior research has optimized long-sequence inference through operators, model architectures, and system frameworks, tokenization remains an overlooked bottleneck. Existing parallel tokenization methods accelerate processing through text segmentation and multi-process tokenization, but they suffer from inconsistent results due to boundary artifacts that occur after merging. To address this, we propose LoPT, a novel Lossless Parallel Tokenization framework that ensures output identical to standard sequential tokenization. Our approach employs character-position-based matching and dynamic chunk length adjustment to align and merge tokenized segments accurately. Extensive experiments across diverse long-text datasets demonstrate that LoPT achieves significant speedup while guaranteeing lossless tokenization. We also provide theoretical proof of consistency and comprehensive analytical studies to validate the robustness of our method.
