Mobile robots must open doors and drawers, yet their scene maps record what each object is and whether it has moved, not how it will respond to a pull. This paper proposes PhysVLMM, a method that maintains a physical belief for every articulated part of a Vision-Language-Motion Map and answers a planner's queries about it, with two algorithms: a map update and a query. Watching a part move provably cannot identify its dynamics, and a measured pull identifies only the pulled part, up to one direction. PhysVLMM therefore (i) keeps that direction as a posterior instead of a point estimate, (ii) passes the evidence of each pull in closed form to the untouched look-alike parts of the map, and (iii) answers whether an action will succeed at a stated risk, or abstains. On real doors and drawers in 18 homes, it identifies the joint type in 86% of held-out pulls (48% for a learned single-view method) and predicts the response to a pull with 41% lower error than differentiable simulation (CRPS 0.323 vs. 0.544), four orders of magnitude faster (13 ms vs. 230 s per case). The posterior lowers the final-position error from 0.460 to 0.270, sharing lowers the force error of untouched parts from 56% to 42%, and at every stated risk from 0.02 to 0.30 the false-safe answers stay within it. Pooling all measured parts of a home does as well as the look-alike groups, and simpler variants predict where a pulled part stops at least as well.

Lean's rich expressiveness supports higher-order functions, inductive datatypes, and user-defined abstractions, making it challenging to translate proof obligations into first-order Satisfiability Modulo Theory (SMT) queries and reconstruct kernel checked proofs. We present crush, an extensible SMT-backed proof automation framework for Lean. To bridge the gap between Lean's higher-order constructs and the solver's first-order logic, crush uses defunctionalization to encode function values and their applications. We formalize this translation for a supported higher-order fragment and prove its soundness. Moreover, crush provides metaprogramming interfaces for extending both Lean-to-SMT translation and the reconstruction of Lean proofs from solver certificates without modifying the translation pipeline. We implement crush as both a tactic and a backend for other third-party automation systems. We show that across four such use cases that target verification and general proof automation, crush discharges more obligations than the competing backends and reconstructs more kernel-checked proofs than the baselines.

We present DAWN (Diffusion-based Alignment and unfastening Workflow Network), a hierarchical robotic framework designed to perform real-world, unfastening tasks through multi-modal sensory integration. Autonomous robotic unfastening is crucial for improving recycling processes, enhancing safety, and reducing operational costs; yet, it remains predominantly manual due to inherent challenges in precise screwdriver engagement with fasteners, detailed force execution, and robustness to environmental variability. To address the complexity of learning long-horizon, contact-rich manipulation tasks, we subdivide the unfastening task procedure into two sequential stages: (1) alignment & insertion, and (2) unfastening. DAWN consists of three key components: AlignNet, a diffusion-based policy ensuring precise screwdriver tip engagement; LatchNet, a multi-modal classifier reliably detecting successful stage transitions; and UnfastNet, which achieves stable, force-controlled screw removal. Experimental validation on a Franka Emika robot demonstrates that DAWN achieves alignment & insertion success rates comparable to trained human operators, robustly transitions between stages, and attains an impressive success rate in unfastening across various unseen scenarios. Ablation studies further elucidate critical input modalities and effective training strategies, highlighting DAWN's scalability, robustness, and data efficiency.

Foundation models trained on longitudinal electronic health records (EHRs) can predict clinical diagnoses years in the future, making them a potential tool for disease screening. We developed TRACER (Temporal Risk Assessment with Clinical EHR Representations), a decoder-based foundation model pretrained on data from over 4.5 million patients from four health systems, and evaluated it on 16 incident diseases at 1-, 2-, and 5-year horizons in more than 2 million patients from two health systems excluded from model development. In contrast to typical evaluations that focus on global metrics (e.g., AUROC), we measured performance at the low false-positive rates that are realistic for screening. We found that TRACER retained its discrimination in external health systems, and at 95% specificity, the patients it flagged were up to eight times more likely to be diagnosed within a year than unselected patients. Evaluating at this operating point also revealed what global metrics alone did not: detection and false-alert burden varied across diseases and health systems, even when discrimination appeared stable. Our results illustrate the potential of foundation models for screening and underscore the need for evaluation in health systems excluded from development to assess disease detection and false-alert burden at levels appropriate for intended clinical use.}

Scalable oversight asks how a weak verifier can check the outputs of computations performed by more powerful AI systems. One proposed approach uses relativizing interactive proofs, in which a weak verifier checks the output of a complex oracle-aided computation by interacting with one or more powerful provers. A prominent example is debate, which is highly efficient but assumes that one of two powerful AI models, or provers, is truthful. For certain classes of oracle-aided computations, this assumption can be removed, but at substantially greater computational cost. In this work, we introduce \emph{rewindable interactive proofs} (RIPs), a new model of relativizing interactive proofs for scalable oversight. In an RIP, the verifier may rewind the prover to an earlier state of the interaction and continue from there. This is possible when the prover is an AI model, since the verifier can save a snapshot of the model's state and later restore it. We construct a relativizing RIP for computations whose outputs are robust to changing a small fraction of oracle answers. Our construction is more efficient than prior relativizing proofs that do not assume a truthful prover, and it uses no cryptography. In our construction the honest prover runs in time linear in that of the original computation, and the verifier, after a one-time preprocessing step, runs in time nearly linear in the input length (which can be much smaller than the computation itself). We implement our protocol, report a preliminary MNIST experiment, and show that an RIP can be faster than a state-of-the-art deployed proof system. RIPs may be of independent interest. Rewinding is possible whenever the verifier controls the prover's machine, for example when the prover runs on trusted hardware or in a virtual machine whose state can be checkpointed.

Building a language model of one's own no longer requires a data centre. This tutorial trains one from scratch, tokenizer included, on one consumer GPU, and shows how to tell whether it is good for the tasks of a specialist domain. It proposes no new method. It releases a tested Python package and two notebooks in Brazilian Portuguese with autoregressive and masked diffusion generation on one network, a preregistered comparison protocol, legal tasks built from text alone with a Kneser-Ney floor and public yardsticks, reference numbers for models of 11 to 12M parameters, and a catalogue of defects that only measurement revealed. On Brazilian prose and federal laws, at minutes per run, the autoregressive mode peaks at 64 epochs over the same text and then memorises it, while masked diffusion improves up to 256. At their best points on test, the diffusion bound exceeds the autoregressive likelihood by 0.06 bits per byte, within the preregistered minimum effect. On held-out laws and on acts published after training, the model ties a 6-gram floor in likelihood on the same windows, and it loses to the floor at continuing those acts. It beats the floor at detecting tampered text, and fills cross-references more often than the floor and public models of 160M and 630M parameters, only in decrees, a genre absent from training, where those scorers stay near or below chance, and in filling the blank only when each group weighs the same, since per item it ties the 630M model. On laws, the public models, trained with about 5x10^2 to 10^5 times its compute, lead in tampered text and continuation. The blind human reading is preregistered and not part of this version.

How effectively can vision-language-action (VLA) models learn diverse language-conditioned behaviors as training data scales? Investigating this question requires large and varied robot datasets, whose collection on physical robots remains costly. We introduce BURGER, a language-conditioned robotic drawing benchmark with a scalable, prompt-driven pipeline for generating continuous drawing trajectories, both in simulation and the real world. In BURGER, an agent starts from the same blank canvas and controls a robot arm to draw the object or spatial composition specified by language, while each instruction allows an open-ended variety of valid drawings and stroke orders. Using 28,200 simulated demonstrations spanning 282 drawing tasks, we evaluate five representative VLA models across data scales, language grounding, and multimodal behavior. BURGER supports fine-grained analysis of language grounding, spatial composition, and action generation, revealing distinct failure patterns across VLA models. Our experiments suggest that some VLA models can benefit from greater task diversity and demonstration scale, capture multimodal drawing behaviors, and generalize to unseen compositions of familiar objects. Finally, we deploy a trained policy on a Franka Panda arm, demonstrating the ability to draw reactively under human intervention. Images reveal appearances, but counting often asks about physical objects. A single entity may be visible directly, in several reflections, or through glass, so detecting every visible occurrence does not determine how many entities are present. Existing visual counting benchmarks rarely separate these two operations. We introduce PhysCount, a benchmark for evaluating whether multimodal large language models (MLLMs) can distinguish what appears in an image from what physically exists in the scene. PhysCount contains 546 real-world images and 4,595 human-written questions organized into 651 target-specific groups. For each group, annotators locate the relevant appearances, label how each is observed, and identify appearances of the same entity. Four complementary question families test the enumeration of appearances, the enumeration of physical entities, image-formation-specific counting, and appearance--entity correspondence. We measure both accuracy on each family and the proportion of groups answered entirely correctly. Across 40 MLLMs, counting visible appearances is substantially easier than recovering the identities that connect them. Even the strongest model answers every question correctly in only 13.36\% of groups. Performance declines when one entity produces many appearances or when its appearances cross observation modes. Higher image resolution improves access to visual evidence but brings limited gains in complete-group accuracy, whereas answering related questions jointly produces a marked improvement. These results expose a gap between recognizing what is visible and correctly recovering the physical entities behind those observations.

We introduce NEOPIC, a framework for learning the field operator in particle-based methods applied to kinetic plasma simulations. Its key novelty is a neural operator that acts directly on the empirical measure of the particles, rather than on a grid, and is evaluated at the particle positions. No mesh or tree is needed and, unlike grid-based neural operators, no deposition onto a mesh takes place, so the particle noise that dominates the inputs of particle simulations is not aliased. Since it replaces only the field solve, it serves as a plug-and-play field solver for particle-based methods: it can be trained on data from particle-in-cell, particle-in-Fourier or tree codes, and combined with any time integrator, including implicit schemes. We prove that the discrete evaluation coincides with the continuous operator at any number of particles (representation equivalence) and derive an error analysis that separates sampling, learning and time-stepping errors: up to the learning error, NEOPIC has the error structure of standard Monte Carlo particle methods. We show that the particle noise in the training data acts as an implicit regularizer, which gives guidance on the number of training particles in relation to the particle numbers used at inference. A complexity analysis shows that NEOPIC is an $O(N_p)$ method whose constants are set by the architecture alone, independently of any mesh or tree. Numerical experiments on electrostatic benchmarks in two and three dimensions, including Landau damping, two-stream and bump-on-tail instabilities, a cyclotron mini-app and a Penning trap, confirm the theoretical findings. A single model trained on several mini-apps generated by different reference methods captures all of them and remains stable up to twice the training time window, which points towards foundation models for fields in particle-based methods.

Existing approximate nearest neighbor search (ANNS) methods generally assume that each entity has a single vector. In many real-world applications, however, an entity is associated with more than one vector, and queries may jointly consider two attributes. With different queries assigning different weights to each attribute, Pareto-frontier-based indices provide an effective solution for dual-vector retrieval by connecting to approximate nearest neighbors under all possible query preferences. However, existing Pareto-frontier-based approaches suffer from substantial inefficiencies in both index construction and dynamic updates, limiting their practical applicability. To address these issues, we propose ACTIVE, a dynamic Pareto-frontier-based DVQ index that supports efficient construction and updates while maintaining high retrieval performance under varying query preferences. It employs angle-constrained active-range computation and connectivity-loss-driven adaptive repair strategies to accelerate node insertion and deletion, respectively. Extensive experiments show that, at comparable (or slightly below) search accuracy, ACTIVE improves insertion throughput by $1.20$--$1.43\times$ over DEG, and deletion throughput by $1.64$--$2.06\times$ over neighbor-reconnection-based repair and by $22.64$--$39.51\times$ over reinsertion-based repair.

Cross-modal scene and instance retrieval aims to retrieve a corresponding 3D environment or object given query 2D images, serving as a foundational mechanism for spatial reasoning in robotics and AR/VR. Existing methods achieve this by learning alignment only at the level of whole scenes or objects, which provides no supervision for the fine-grained local structure within them. In this work, we show that supervision on a set of sparse 2D-3D correspondences, without scene- or instance-level contrastive objectives, is sufficient to train a single model for both scene- and instance-level retrieval. Specifically, we propose $\textbf{CrossWeave}$, a novel framework for cross-modal retrieval that learns sparse patch-point alignment, which alone outperforms existing methods. An optimal transport-based aggregator over the aligned features gives further gains by clustering structurally redundant regions, freeing descriptor capacity for semantically distinct local features. CrossWeave achieves state-of-the-art performance on both scene- and instance-level retrieval on ScanNet and 3RScan with a $\textit{single model}$, whereas existing methods require separate models for each task. Our results suggest that whole-scene encoding is unnecessary for cross-modal retrieval and that sparse local correspondence supervision is a more effective and flexible alternative.

With the growing scale of multi-agent architectures and large language models, deployed AI assistants are increasingly tasked with reasoning over long, continuous, multi-session conversation histories. Current benchmarks evaluate this dialogue history as information retrieval over long horizon, temporal reasoning, or knowledge updates, while crucially ignoring the fundamental dynamics of human-agent interaction, i.e. how they said it. To address this gap, we present VoiceLongMemEval (VLME) benchmark, where every answer depends on paralinguistic metadata (emotion labels, prosody descriptors, and voice events) attached to conversational turns, which is otherwise unrecoverable from the words alone. Every item passes a three-stage adversarial gate, ensuring that a strong language model fails when given only the transcript. Evaluating leading frontier and open-weight models reveals a pervasive affect gap; providing text-track paralinguistic metadata yields a 0.09 to 0.38 accuracy boost (0.61 to 0.69 when prompted with evidence hints), while standard ASR pipelines systematically discard this signal. Additionally, audio-native models successfully extract these cues directly from speech (0.354 to 0.412 vs. 0.325 blind). Code and dataset will be made available upon acceptance.

Recent advances in unified visual editing have begun to consolidate image and video editing within a single model, while 3D scene editing remains largely separate and constrained by scarce paired training data. Given the rich image and video editing supervision now available and the common editing semantics shared across modalities, a natural question is whether this knowledge can be transferred to data-scarce 3D editing. We present VitronEdit, a universal framework for image, video, and 3D scene editing. VitronEdit adopts a shared sequence representation and progressive multimodal training to transfer editing knowledge across modalities. We further introduce geometry-aware post-training, which leverages a pretrained geometry reconstruction model to provide depth and camera-pose supervision. Surprisingly, applying geometric supervision only to 3D samples yields the best overall performance, while image and video editing also improve despite receiving no direct geometric supervision, suggesting that geometric regularization transfers through the shared backbone. Our analysis further shows that image and video training mainly transfers editing semantics to 3D, whereas 3D supervision primarily improves multi-view consistency. Developers can build LLM agents by adapting third-party models through benign post-training. We study a supply-chain threat in which an attacker supplies a model with a backdoor: hidden behavior that produces malicious outputs when a particular input pattern appears. Focusing on software-engineering agents, we ask whether such backdoors survive the developer's supervised fine-tuning (SFT) and subsequent task-level reinforcement learning (RL). We observe that benign SFT substantially reduces attack success, but subsequent RL often preserves the residual behavior and sometimes even increases attack success. Our analysis of backdoor erosion during SFT identifies two factors that may favor survival: initial backdoor strength and gradient compatibility with benign training. These factors motivate PersistBD, which refines an already-backdoored model before release to improve its persistency through the benign post-training process. On Qwen2.5-Coder-7B, PersistBD raises attack success from 20% to 74% after SFT and from 20% to 76% after SFT-RL, while maintaining comparable benign task performance. Together, our results show that backdoors can remain active through benign post-training and that adversaries can deliberately increase their persistence. This highlights a supply-chain risk for AI developers and motivates stronger techniques for detecting and mitigating inherited backdoors when adapting third-party models into agents. The advent of large, high-density FPGAs such as the AMD Versal enables efficient hardware implementation of neuromorphic Ising machines, unlocking unprecedented performance for complex combinatorial optimizations. A critical application for this computing paradigm is dynamic powergrid optimization, specifically Distribution Network Reconfiguration (DNR), which seeks to mitigate severe resistive losses and reduce electricity costs by optimizing network switch configurations in real time. This paper presents an FPGA-based neuromorphic higher-order Ising machine for high-speed, adaptive DNR. By directly mapping DNR onto higher-order Ising interactions via a polynomial unconstrained binary optimization (PUBO) formulation, the proposed architecture requires only 179 spins for the IEEE 33-bus network, which represents a 6 times reduction compared to standard quadratic formulations. Implemented on an AMD Versal Premium VP1802 FPGA, the architecture executes parallel spin-group updates every 20 ns and solves 33-, 51-, and 69-bus benchmark networks with median latencies of 1.6-29.3 ms, yielding a 7-58 times speedup over Gurobi to the first optimal solution. Using the solver with expanded network-switching flexibility reduces power loss by 80.71 kW (57.83%), while adaptive reconfiguration every 10 s under time-varying demand saves 131.16 kWh/day over static daily reconfiguration, highlighting the potential of higher-order Ising hardware for fast, adaptive smart grid management.

A king in a tournament is a vertex from which every other vertex is reachable by a directed path of length at most two. We study the deterministic query complexity of finding a king when a query specifies a set of vertices and returns the number of edges directed from that set to its complement. We prove that this complexity is $Θ(n)$ for $n$-vertex tournaments. To show this, we first show that every correct deterministic algorithm in this model must output a maximum-outdegree vertex, even though a king need not have maximum outdegree. We then give an adversary whose answers, after too few queries, remain consistent with a tournament in which the algorithm's output does not have maximum outdegree.

Legal Question Answering (QA) over statutory texts is a challenging task in Natural Language Processing (NLP), especially in low-resource settings with complex legal systems. It requires answers that are precise and grounded in the law. However, to the best of current knowledge, no existing extractive QA benchmark provides exact answer spans from statutory texts across all seven Indian Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Acts. This paper presents IndicIPR-QA1, an extractive QA benchmark for Indian IPR laws. The proposed dataset contains 4,462 QA pairs from 1,116 statutory contexts across seven Acts. Questions and answers are generated using GPT-4o and validated through nine automatic quality checks, single and multi-model LLM evaluations, and a 200-pair human audit. Section-level partitioning prevents source-context overlap across the training, validation, and test sets. Further analysis examines answer span length, lexical overlap, and multi-clause structure across the corpus and individual Acts. BM25 achieves a token-level F1 score of 20.21, while fine-tuned InLegalBERT reaches 85.02 under a unified sliding-window inference protocol. The large performance gap between BM25 (20.21 F1) and InLegalBERT (85.02 F1) shows that simple word matching is not enough to answer these legal questions. Performance also varies across the seven Acts, indicating substantial differences in answer-extraction performance.

Safety alignment for Large Language Models is heavily focused on English with limited multilingual representation, particularly damaging low-resource language performance. Related open training datasets are often limited in size or do not follow region-localized harmful topics to broaden the scope of alignment beyond cultures. We propose a scalable template-based augmentation pipeline to produce massive multilingual refusal and benign corpora, extracting safe templates from harmful prompts, translating them and then filling in the slots with culturally authentic entities, both harmful and benign. As a result, we release MSafeTemp, a validated corpus spanning 60 languages useful for multilingual safety alignment and evaluation. Using the dataset, we show that English-only evaluation misjudges multilingual safety: for several models, attacks that fail in English succeed once translated, while culturally localized variants expose further failures that translation alone misses. We also confirm that augmenting safety training data through templates allows for higher diversity and quality of alignment, resulting in improved safety performance beyond English. MSafeTemp and the respective pipeline are aimed at facilitating research and development of safer and more responsible models for less-represented cultures.

We develop design methodologies for the rate profile of polarization-adjusted convolutional (PAC) codes tailored to successive cancellation list (SCL) decoding. The crux of our approach is two-fold: first is the creation of a modified density evolution Gaussian approximation (DEGA), called conditional DEGA (CDEGA), to analyze the decoding process in the presence of errors; second is the creation of a dangerous-path occupancy metric to find the conditional occupancy of bit-errors in a finite list. Our approach not only illuminates the role of rate-one precoding, but also provides insight into why certain information sets are particularly well suited to PAC codes. We demonstrate the usefulness of CDEGA and dangerous-path metrics with algorithms that create new information sets, as well as precoders that are extremely sparse yet competitive. In particular, we design codes of length $N \leq 512$ with various rates and list sizes, all of which offer at least half a dB gain over traditional PAC codes at an FER of $10^{-3}$ and improve upon state-of-the-art results.

Large language models (LLMs) are increasingly used as computational models of human language processing, yet it remains unclear which components of their representations drive alignment with neural activity. Here, we use ridge reduced-rank regression to identify the brain-predictive subspace of LLM representations: the representational directions that support linear prediction of neural responses. Across three naturalistic language-listening datasets spanning intracranial electrophysiology and fMRI, and six model conditions spanning autoregressive, bidirectional masked, and randomly initialized language models, we find that full linear encoding performance can be recovered using only 1-3% of the original embedding dimensionality. These low-dimensional subspaces generalize across held-out participants and, to a lesser extent, across datasets, suggesting that neural predictivity is concentrated in a compact and partially shared representational space. We next compare these brain-predictive directions with the principal axes of variation in the embeddings. Principal component analysis requires substantially more dimensions to recover neural prediction, demonstrating that the directions most useful for predicting neural activity are distinct from those capturing the most overall variance within LLM representations themselves. Finally, characterizing the learned subspaces allows us to surface interpretable features that are overrepresented in neural activity above and beyond the LLM representations. Together, these results show that LLM-brain alignment is supported by a small, structured subset of model representations and provides a framework for better understanding exactly why these representations align. RecHash is a stateful sequential authentication construction based on paired hash-chain openings and an authenticated record history. It develops the decreasing position relation of the 2019 hash-entangled construction, whose exact integer normalization yields a two-coordinate constant-sum antichain. Direct proportional reuse is constrained by integer capacity and multiplicative contraction. The main construction instead assigns each record to a predetermined chain segment, with complementary positions encoding each digest block. All digests fit every scheduled slot, independently of preceding messages. For an $\ell$-bit digest distributed over $k$ equal-length chain pairs, balanced allocation gives $\lfloor L/(2^{\lceil\ell/k\rceil}+1)\rfloor$ slots. A 256-bit digest, 32 pairs, and length 65535 provide 254 application records followed by a renewal certificate, with 2048 bytes of openings per record for 256-bit chain outputs. We give a complete segmented state transition, a worked trace, exact allocation and resource results, and a renewal-free security-composition theorem conditional on authenticated history and an adaptive one-step guarantee. The analysis relates the construction to constant-sum encodings and standardized hash-based signatures; a concrete post-quantum reduction and security across renewal remain open.

Voice-cloning TTS models synthesize an unseen speaker's voice from brief speech prompts, but it remains unclear which acoustic properties they represent and use. We introduce a feature-based interpretability framework for autoregressive voice-cloning TTS models, analyzing features from sparse autoencoders (SAEs), PCA, and random directions via sparse probing, steering, and quantitative auto-interpretability. We focus on Qwen3-TTS and extend probing and steering to $5$ additional models to test generalization across architectures. These models encode concepts like pitch, energy, noise, and accent, but sparse prediction and steering are effective only for some concepts. Strong probing does not always translate to steering or vice-versa. SAEs are useful for sparse probing of human-labelled concepts and novel-concept discovery, while PCA is competitive for dense probing and steering. Auto-interpretability finds $684$ automatically validated SAE features in Qwen3-TTS covering speaker clusters, speaking style, and recording conditions beyond known concepts. Overall, we perform a comprehensive interpretability study of autoregressive voice-cloning TTS models.

Such disguised expressions surface as algospeak, euphemisms, and adversarial obfuscation, depending on intent and context, and often involve recurring encoding mechanisms. We propose a comprehensive, mechanism-oriented taxonomy of ILE that abstracts away from communicative goals and instead categorizes the underlying operations through which meaning is encoded and recovered. We evaluate the taxonomy by incorporating it into large language model (LLM) prompts and comparing it with four existing taxonomies and a no-taxonomy baseline, using 2,000 manually annotated TikTok and Bluesky posts. The proposed taxonomy attains the strongest document- and span-level performance across three LLMs. Compared with the best-performing benchmark, its document-level gains are +3.8 accuracy/+4.3 macro-F1 percentage points for GPT-5.4, +0.9/+1.3 for Sonnet 4.6, and +2.1/+2.2 for DeepSeek V4. While the direction of improvement is consistent, the magnitude is model-dependent. The span-level gains are mainly driven by higher recall, sometimes at the cost of precision. In an additional cross-lingual evaluation of 800 Chinese codedlanguage reviews, the unadapted taxonomy also achieves the highest document- and span-level F1 across the three LLMs. The empirical results reveal the importance of a comprehensive, mechanism-oriented taxonomy as a stable scaffold for detecting emerging coded language and a useful input to content moderation. AI 速览:提出代数世界模型(AWM),将未知环境中的探索转化为可执行假设、范畴论引导的结构化模型,并在 Lean 4 中形式化证明可达性与不可能性。
AI has made remarkable progress in mathematics, solving challenging problems with machine-checkable proofs in Lean, yet typically relying on predefined mathematical definitions and formal specifications. This raises a natural question: can it reason rigorously about an unknown world? We introduce the Algebraic World Model (AWM), a framework that turns interaction with unfamiliar environments into explicit mathematical models supporting formal reasoning. AWM explores the environment and develops executable Python hypotheses, continually testing and revising them against observations. It then structures these hypotheses into typed objects and shared rules, simplifies their structure through category-theory-guided transformations, and formalizes the resulting model in Lean 4 to prove reachability and impossibility. AWM can formally prove that a goal is unreachable, even beyond explored trajectories. On two impossible game levels, it constructs closed, kernel-checked Lean proofs excluding every legal winning sequence in all six runs, while Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Astra, equipped with coding tools, produce none in twelve baseline runs. Four of AWM's six initial bounds are correct, compared with one for Opus 5.5 and none for GPT-6 Astra; given only feedback that a cheaper win exists, AWM revises its rules and constructs new proofs, reaching six of six correct bounds. Moreover, AWM produces interpretable mathematical models whose rules can be inspected and tested step by step. Across all 25 public ARC-AGI-3 games, these models enable Lean to replay the winning trajectories of all 183 levels and generalize beyond observed play, predicting unseen transitions and detecting changes in game mechanics. With Claude Opus 5, AWM clears all levels with a score of 99.9, while its certified winning trajectories use only 43% of the human baseline's actions.

Conventional wheel-equipped quadrotor UAVs must tilt their bodies to generate lateral forces, limiting their ability to maintain a desired attitude during lateral motion. This paper proposes a wheeled quadrotor with all-clockwise tilted rotors that uses surface contact as a constraint to generate propulsion along the contact surface without tilting the vehicle. We analyze feasible forces and system controllability under surface contact and optimize the vehicle design considering different rotor-spin configurations. The optimization results show that a configuration in which all four rotors spin clockwise can generate a larger tangential force than the conventional alternating-spin configuration. This approach enables both aerial and contact-based locomotion without additional rotor-tilting actuators or mechanisms. Simulation results demonstrate both hovering in free space and horizontal locomotion on a floor while maintaining a level attitude.

We study high-dimensional integration on bounded convex domains. Given a non-negative integrand $r$, the goal is to estimate $Z=\int_{D}r(x)\,\mathrm dx$ on $D\subset\mathbb R^d$. Standard Quasi-Monte Carlo does not adapt its evaluation points to the integrand, while effective importance sampling requires a proposal that captures its concentration. Learned diffusion samplers can supply such a proposal, but existing methods are formulated on $\mathbb R^d$ and do not respect the domain constraint $x\in D$. We instead build the proposal from reflected dynamics that stay in $D$ by construction. A reflected diffusion progressively transforms the target distribution toward the uniform distribution on $D$, and a neural score model is trained to reverse this process. A change-of-measure formula for reflected diffusions yields a training objective without additional boundary terms and an unbiased importance-sampling estimator of $Z$. For non-smooth integrands, where reparameterization gradients may be undefined or uninformative, we derive a REINFORCE estimator of the training gradient using Gaussian proposal densities before reflection, without evaluating reflected transition densities or differentiating $r$. We evaluate on numerous synthetic targets and real-world problems, demonstrating strong performance of the proposed method, as well as favorable scaling with the dimension of the problem and the number of points used for the Monte Carlo estimate.

We present LucidLyra, a framework that makes generatively reconstructed 3D scenes directly queryable for semantics and instances in a feed-forward manner from video latents. While generative 3D reconstruction can synthesize virtual environments from a single image, downstream applications in robotics and physical AI require not only visual realism but also access to scene semantics and object identities. Existing 3D understanding approaches, however, require captured multi-view scenes, have limited generalization capabilities, or rely on expensive per-scene processing and optimization. To bridge this gap, our method distills complementary knowledge from a camera-controlled video diffusion model and frozen 2D vision foundation models into a unified model to jointly infer 3D Gaussians encoding geometry, appearance, open-vocabulary semantics, and class-agnostic instance cues. The resulting scenes support novel-view rendering, open-vocabulary segmentation, and object grouping without per-scene optimization, while training requires neither manual 3D annotations nor captured multi-view data. Our method outperforms baselines combining state-of-the-art 3DGS segmentation approaches with generative 3D scene reconstruction on curated synthetic and real-image-conditioned benchmarks, while preserving reconstruction quality. Furthermore, our latent formulation naturally extends to monocular video, reconstructing structured dynamic 3D scenes across time. By turning renderable but unstructured outputs into queryable 3D worlds, LucidLyra enables downstream applications including 3D scene editing, 3D asset mining, and robotic simulation.

AI 速览:回顾EGI在interTwin与iMagine项目中的早期AI实践,提出以AI就绪基础设施、人才技能与信任为三大支柱的2026-2030年AI战略。
The EGI Federation has provided federated e-infrastructure services to European and global science for over 15 years. We review EGI's early experiences with AI in the interTwin and iMagine Horizon Europe projects, which built digital twins in physics and environmental sciences and an image-analysis platform for aquatic research. We then examine how the AI landscape has changed since 2023 and argue that the focus of AI in science has shifted from model training to adapting and applying AI to specific domains, projects and questions. Building on these lessons, we present the AI strategy emerging from the EGI Federation Strategy 2026-2030, organised around three enablers: (1) an AI-ready infrastructure connecting compute, data and application resources across the continuum; (2) human skills to know what is possible with AI and how to implement it; and (3) trust, to run AI with confidence even in high-risk environments. We describe the projects implementing each enabler, including federated LLM inference, AI-ready data platforms and AI competence centres, and discuss a division of labour with EuroHPC's AI Factories, RAISE, research infrastructures and EOSC, in which EGI specialises in the customisation and long-term operation of AI for research.

The HiLumi LHC, the SKA Observatory and LOFAR 2.0 will take High Energy Physics (HEP) and Radio Astronomy (RA) towards exabyte-scale data within the next decade, beyond the capacity of today's infrastructure. The SPECTRUM project responded with two documents built on the same evidence. A Technical Blueprint describes a European compute and data continuum as a capability map, consolidates the gaps found in HEP, RA and related use cases, and recommends technical actions in eight areas. A Strategic Research, Innovation and Deployment Agenda (SRIDA) organises thirteen priorities in four pillars, maps them to investment areas and European funding instruments, and phases them over a roadmap set against the timelines of the three instruments. This paper, by editors and contributors of both documents, summarises them, their consultative method and the impact the SRIDA expects.

Large language models support personalized tutoring, content generation, and adaptive learning paths. However, capability development requires these resources and interactions to form a coherent learning process that evolves with the learner. A central challenge is to align goals, activities, and assessment while using learning evidence to decide what should follow. We introduce Human-Participatory Multi-Agent Organization and instantiate it in Agentic University (AU). In AU, learners participate as organization members and work with specialized agents to maintain a revisable Capability Program. The program connects personal goals, learning activities across modalities, and layered assessment, while learner feedback and performance guide subsequent support. Our evaluation shows advantages in program organization, assessment design, and revision quality. Users achieved larger mean assessment gains (12.19 versus 5.61 points on a 50-point scale) and reported stronger cognitive support. This work contributes an organizational approach to adaptive learning that makes learner participation a continuing basis for multi-agent coordination.
