Modern video models possess strong visual priors, yet do not natively represent human action in metric 3D space. We present EgoGeneralist, which adapts pretrained video generators to unify action-conditioned egocentric video generation, pose estimation, and joint action-video generation. Our role-adaptive action renderer provides video-native representations for multidirectional action-video learning, making metric motion usable as both a spatial control signal and a recoverable generation target. Cross-stream action-video coupling establishes close correspondence between metric motion and visual dynamics through lightweight adaptation while preserving the pretrained visual prior. Together, these designs establish a generalist framework spanning five action-video tasks. Despite adaptation only on controlled laboratory recordings, EgoGeneralist generalizes to diverse unseen scenes and interactions with effective action control and visual quality, bridging pretrained visual knowledge and metric 3D human motion.

Temporary traffic control redirects vehicles through work zones, requiring automated vehicles to connect an interpretation of the visible devices to a continuous passing path. Geometric predictors provide several plausible paths, yet selecting the one consistent with the temporary control remains difficult. We propose SAGE (Semantic-to-Action Grounded Execution), a read-decide-execute-check framework that separates path construction, path preference, and control compliance within a shared candidate space. The central idea is to use a vision-language model's (VLM's) trajectory as a preference over intact geometric candidates. A role-decoupled generator constructs the candidates, and rank fusion combines each candidate's geometric score with its agreement with the VLM trajectory. Supervision structured around the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) trains SAGE-VLM to state the lane status and hazard side before its passage decision and trajectory. The predicted hazard side enters image-space predicates derived from MUTCD provisions, which support a final intervention bounded in score and displacement. On 2,306 real-world ROADWork validation episodes, the candidates include a path within 10 px of the human demonstration in 87% of episodes, yet selection regret accounts for 53% of the geometric ranker's error. SAGE reduces average and final displacement errors by 8.3% and 12.0% relative to the ranker and hard-constraint violations by 37%. The trajectory opinion improves all four tested generator-selector combinations. SAGE is comparable to state-of-the-art VLM modules in accuracy, with a faster-responding VLM, and outperforms four other adapted driving VLMs in displacement error and safety measures. ML code should run where researchers choose, not where it was first written. Today, machine learning code mainly lives in two ecosystems, PyTorch on NVIDIA GPUs and JAX on Google TPUs. Migrating repositories between them means building and testing across frameworks and hardware. This migration is (1) a practical need, since it unlocks different hardware for researchers, and (2) a natural benchmark: it involves different frameworks and hardware, covers whole repositories, and is long-horizon and challenging. We introduce XStack, a benchmark that evaluates agents on migrating ML repositories between these two ecosystems. Each agent receives a PyTorch repository and a clean TPU machine and must deliver a JAX repository. Its output passes if it meets our grading criteria, based on the source repository's published result, authenticated and calibrated by us. Migration by agents remains unreliable: Claude Opus 5 passes 75%, GPT-5.6-sol 45%, and every other agent at most 40%. XStack is a step toward freeing ML code from its ecosystem. We release XStack to make progress toward reliable migration across frameworks and hardware measurable.

Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models can perform a wide range of robotic manipulation tasks, but often fail during deployment. Teaching them to recover from these failures requires substantial corrective data: existing approaches learn to recover from failures by directly associating corrective actions with the observations in which they were demonstrated. For instance, DAgger-like fine-tuning can require tens to hundreds of interactions, yet the resulting policy may still fail to generalize the learned corrections beyond the demonstrated scenarios. We hypothesize that semantics can capture the underlying reasons for failures and their corrections, enabling policies to learn from only a handful of corrective demonstrations and generalize those corrections to novel objects, and scene variations. We propose OopsieRecover, a framework that uses abduction to infer the intent behind a small set of corrective demonstrations and encodes the inferred knowledge as dense spatial representations and conditional costs. These costs capture when a behavior is undesirable and steer the policy toward more desirable action regions. We experiment across 6 tasks and variations in object poses, scenes, and related tasks, and find that only a handful of corrective demonstrations can enable a VLA to overcome failures across a broad range of novel situations, without requiring new corrective data for each variation. Learning dexterous manipulation from limited visual demonstrations is challenging because policies must acquire both perceptual grounding and precise control, while reinforcement learning (RL) in simulation can acquire rich control behaviors from large-scale interaction with privileged information. We introduce \textbf{Latent RL Prior}, a two-stage framework that reuses this control knowledge for data-efficient visual policy learning. During privileged pretraining, we distill large-scale RL rollouts into a flow-matching action decoder conditioned on proprioception and latent task context. During visual adaptation, we freeze the decoder and learn a visual interface that maps images to its latent context using action supervision alone, without privileged labels or latent targets. The same decoder can further be shared across arms by learning coordinated visual contexts for bimanual manipulation. Across three simulated tasks, our method outperforms full-parameter fine-tuning of $π_{0.5}$ and GR00T N1.7 in the low-data regime; on door lifting and bimanual assembly, it surpasses full-data baselines using $10\times$ and $5\times$ fewer demonstrations, respectively. Further analysis shows that direct visual-to-latent conditioning improves adaptation performance and training stability over routing visual predictions through the pretrained state encoder. Robustness to unseen mass variation and greater linear accessibility of contact-force information in decoder representations further provide evidence of retained RL-acquired control knowledge. Creating images from noise is image generation; reconstructing fine details from coarse inputs is super-resolution. Despite their practical differences, both can be understood as reversing information loss across scales. We introduce $\textbf{SKILD}$, a $\textbf{S}$cale-invariant $\textbf{K}$-Space $\textbf{I}$mage $\textbf{L}$earning $\textbf{D}$iffusion model that unifies generation and continuous super-resolution within a single unconditional framework. Both natural images and critical physical systems exhibit scale invariance, and we leverage it to design a forward process that attenuates image content from fine to coarse scales while injecting spectrum-matched Gaussian noise, making scale an explicit coordinate of the diffusion dynamics. The same trained reverse process performs generation and continuous super-resolution by varying only the starting timestep: $\textit{no task-specific architecture, no conditioning branch, no classifier-free guidance, no retraining per scale factor}$. Empirically, SKILD reaches FID $2.61$ and Inception Score $9.65$ on unconditional CIFAR-10, performs $2\times$--$8\times$ super-resolution on ImageNet from a single unconditional checkpoint while outperforming conditional models across perceptual metrics, and reconstructs critical Ising models whose connected four-point correlations closely track the ground truth.

Models for physical AI tasks, such as robotics and autonomous driving, need not reason solely in language. They can use visual plans--points, bounding boxes, and trajectories--to represent spatial goals and anticipate motion. However, autoregressive vision-language models generate these plans one coordinate token at a time, making richer predictions increasingly costly. We introduce VFlash, a method for fast, accurate visual planning through Flash Primitive Decoding. VFlash exploits the known structure of visual primitives to predict their coordinates jointly, using a lightweight drafter that generates an entire primitive in one forward pass. The layout adapts to the primitive's type, dimensionality, and length, supporting compact boxes and long, variable-length trajectories. Crucially, spatial accuracy need not require reproducing an autoregressive model's exact token sequence. VFlash therefore trains on annotated primitives and directly accepts structurally valid predictions without target-token agreement. Across the evaluated 2D and 3D robot trajectory tasks, VFlash consistently reduces prediction errors relative to autoregressive decoding. Preliminary single-rollout measurements indicate approximately 25x faster generation for 3D point motion forecasting. A world action model conditioned on VFlash plans achieves 70.2% average success across four MolmoSpaces task suites, compared with 62.6% for the baseline.

State-of-the-art feedforward reconstruction models perform poorly on in-the-wild object-centric photo collections. They are trained largely on single-session object captures whose images vary in viewpoint while the object and its environment remain nearly fixed. Public photo archives contain a different form of multi-view data. They hold found photos of the same object or design: photos taken independently by many people across years, environments, cameras, and sometimes physical units. In this work, we introduce Trainspotting, a dataset of 12,068 objects and 311,886 photos from Wikimedia Commons. We reconstruct each object to recover camera poses, multi-view stereo depth, and object masks. We categorize the objects into three regimes: objects fixed at one site, objects that move between sites, and designs shared by many physical units. Evaluating recent feedforward reconstruction models on Trainspotting shows that they fail most severely in the last two regimes. Fine-tuning VGGT-$Ω$ on Trainspotting significantly improves camera pose, depth, and 3D geometry on held-out objects. We observe similar improvements on the independent NAVI in-the-wild benchmark, which contains photos of each object in different environments. Performance on conventional benchmarks remains largely unchanged.

查看原文摘要

Agentic forecasting is important for decision-making in dynamic environments, but it remains challenging because agents must reason from incomplete, time-limited evidence and produce calibrated probabilities before outcomes are resolved. Memory provides a natural mechanism for transferring experience from resolved forecasts to future prediction tasks. However, existing agent-memory methods are not tailored to forecasting, as they typically store past interactions, reflections, or factual associations without explicitly representing reusable predictive factors or calibration knowledge. We propose ForecastCompass (FoCo), an adaptive factor-based memory framework for agentic forecasting. FoCo organizes forecasting experience with a hierarchical forecasting-task taxonomy, enabling retrieval task-relevant forecasting knowledge. It maintains two complementary memory components: factor memory, which captures reusable predictive dimensions, and reasoning memory, which encodes probability updating, uncertainty handling, and calibration principles. Using retrospective analyses as learning signals, FoCo iteratively revises memory through a verbalized memory-revision procedure, enabling the agent to accumulate transferable forecasting knowledge over time. Experiments on Prophet Arena and FutureX with GPT-5-mini and Gemini-2.5-Flash show that FoCo improves both probabilistic accuracy and calibration.

For LLMs, skills are textual recipes encoding mature problem-solving experience. Despite widespread deployment, their utility is limited by the model's ability to comprehend and follow skill instructions. To address this limitation, we propose ParametricSkills, a framework that parameterizes textual skills at test time, enabling context-free management of the full skill lifecycle. Specifically, we first construct a large-scale and high-quality skill collection, and then synthesize single-turn and multi-turn skill-exploitation trajectories. Using this data, we then train a hypernetwork that parameterizes both the content and the exploitation methodologies of skills by converting textual skills into LoRA adapters. To facilitate the real-world application of our framework, we further align the hypernetwork on complex, long-horizon trajectories collected with OpenCode, enabling the models to operate reliably in realistic interactive workflows with ParametricSkills. Across evaluations, ParametricSkills effectively parameterizes skills, yielding substantial gains in task completion. More notably, as parametric skills accumulate as adapters rather than crowding the context, they open a preliminary but promising path toward continual learning at test time.

Low-rank adaptation (LoRA) is commonly used in both supervised fine-tuning (SFT) and reinforcement learning (RL), often under similar optimizer settings. Yet, how the different dynamics of the two stages manifest in the low-rank increment that LoRA optimizes remains unclear. Tracking the singular spectrum and subspaces of LoRA updates on mathematical reasoning tasks, we find that RL concentrates the spectrum at every learning rate, while SFT expands it at moderate learning rates; moreover, RL rotates the singular subspaces much faster than SFT at small learning rates. Interpolating between SFT and RL one ingredient at a time, we pinpoint group-mean baseline subtraction as the source of both contrasts. A quadratic multi-index model updated via LoRA unveils the underlying mechanism: group-mean baseline subtraction tilts the balance between two competing forces, coherent fitting and gradient noise, toward spectral concentration and faster subspace rotation, while forcing the risk-favorable learning rate to be low. Guided by these dynamics, we tailor LoRA updates to each stage: in SFT, we flatten the spectrum of the full update to spread adaptation across singular directions, whereas in RL, we flatten the part of the update outside the current LoRA increment span to promote subspace rotation. Experiments on mathematical reasoning tasks across multiple models show that the respective configurations for SFT and RL yield the best performance among the compared methods in most evaluated settings.

Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models enable end-to-end robot control, but inference is increasingly expensive. Each decision processes hundreds of visual tokens, often across multiple cameras, leading to substantial computation while allowing irrelevant background content to distract action prediction under distribution shift. We argue that these issues stem from two complementary forms of redundancy: many visual tokens are spatially irrelevant, while attention over the remaining tokens is often misallocated. Based on this observation, we propose T3R, a Training-Free Two-Stage Token Refinement framework. In the first stage, segmentation-guided token pruning removes irrelevant visual patches to reduce computation and eliminate distracting context. In the second stage, saliency-guided attention biasing reallocates attention toward action-critical visual regions and language instructions within the retained tokens. Together, pruning produces a cleaner candidate set, while attention biasing further emphasizes the most decision-relevant evidence, yielding a better accuracy-efficiency frontier than either stage alone. On LIBERO-Spatial, T3R removes 85% of scene-camera visual tokens while essentially matching the unpruned success rate, and improves success by up to 7 percentage points under out-of-distribution object-placement perturbations. The timing comparison attributes 7.8 ms per inference call to pruning and attention-bias application. As input resolution increases, LLM-forward profiling shows up to a 3.3x speedup over the unpruned baseline. Evaluations across LIBERO, SIMPLER, and RoboTwin with three VLA backbones show the strongest accuracy-efficiency benefits in multi-camera settings. These results demonstrate that training-free token refinement is a practical approach to efficient and robust VLA inference.

The growing use of AI in mathematics raises a question: can we detect AI involvement in proofs, separately from AI assistance with writing? Historical arXiv papers, recent papers disclosing substantive AI use, and manuscripts released by OpenAI provide a rich empirical basis for studying this question. However, several challenges remain: lack of matched case-control pairs; potential incompleteness of disclosure; and lack of ready-to-use features designed to capture signals of AI involvement in proofs. To address these challenges, we construct five cohorts comprising 8,281 papers by combining existing manuscripts with those we produced using generative AI. These cohorts span different levels of AI involvement and include matched pairs of papers addressing the same research problems. We then introduce ProofTrace, a framework that represents each paper as a graph of immediate proof support (GIPS) and extracts interpretable features of mathematical organization. Our study yields three discoveries. First, principal-component projections of our features reveal a qualitative gradient of AI involvement, where AI-reworded papers remain close to human papers, the two AI-generated cohorts depart in broadly shared directions, and papers disclosing substantive AI use occupy intermediate positions which shifts toward AI-generated cohorts over time. Second, we identify recurring signatures of AI-generated proofs, such as fewer externally cited results, greater reliance on intermediate conclusions, and altered graph connectivity; many of these signatures persist under controls for research field, manuscript length, or graph size. Finally, in a separate detection experiment, ProofTrace distinguishes human-written papers from those disclosing substantive AI use. Its performance remains stable under AI rewording, whereas the performance of state-of-the-art text-based detectors declines sharply.

While large-scale pretraining has revolutionized language modeling, its potential remains underexplored in healthcare with structured electronic health records (EHRs). We present RAVEN, a novel generative pretraining strategy for sequential EHR data based on Recurrence-Aware next-Visit EveNt prediction. Leveraging a dataset of over one million unique individuals, our model learns to autoregressively generate tokenized clinical events for the next visit conditioned on patient history. We introduce regularization on predicting repeated events and highlight a key pitfall in EHR-based foundation model evaluations: repeated event tokens can inflate performance metrics when new onsets are not distinguished from subsequent occurrences. Furthermore, we empirically investigate the scaling behaviors in a data-constrained, compute-saturated regime, showing that simply increasing model size is suboptimal without commensurate increases in data volume. We evaluate our model via zero-shot prediction for forecasting the incidence of a diverse set of diseases, where it rivals fully fine-tuned representation-based Transformer models and outperforms both standard simulation-based next-token approaches and a prompted medical large language model baseline. Finally, without additional parameter updates, we show that RAVEN can generalize to an external patient cohort under lossy clinical code mappings and feature coverage gaps.

Semantic filtering selects records that satisfy a natural-language predicate and is an important operation in data analytics based on large language models (LLMs). Executing an expensive model on every document incurs substantial inference cost. Existing approaches reduce this cost by accepting predictions from cheaper models and forwarding uncertain records to an oracle. Task Cascades further varies document portions and operations, and provides an accuracy-guaranteed extension. However, its threshold calibration follows a prescribed adjustment sequence after cascade assembly, rather than minimizing cost over alternative combinations of stage thresholds. Motivated by this, we propose CascadeFilter, a three-stage semantic filtering method that jointly searches the thresholds for a small language model operating on extracted evidence and full documents, with unresolved records forwarded to the oracle. For a fixed cascade, we formulate threshold selection as minimizing token-aware cost subject to an oracle-relative error constraint, and select the least-cost certified configuration in a pre-specified grid. A finite-population calibration procedure bounds oracle-relative error after selection, using fixed-sequence tests on threshold tracks to allocate the multiple-testing budget. We further combine lexical and dense retrieval, reranking, and neighborhood-supported confidence to improve evidence extraction and routing. These components enhance the cascade while leaving its certification interface unchanged. Across six datasets and 13 evaluation settings, the reported results have the highest benchmark accuracy and macro-averaged F1 score in 12 settings each. These comparisons describe the reported operating points; the accuracy guarantee concerns agreement with the oracle.

Ordinal information is central to tasks ranging from conference peer review to Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback for large language models. In many such settings, there is no objective ground truth against which reports can be directly verified, making incentive-compatible elicitation challenging. Peer-prediction mechanisms have been designed to achieve truthful elicitation despite the lack of ground-truth verification. However, existing peer-prediction methods do not provide incentives for agents to truthfully compress rich private information (e.g. reviews) into coarser ordinal reports (e.g. rankings) requested by the mechanisms. We propose a simple ordinal peer-prediction mechanism that rewards agents based on pairwise agreement, measured by Kendall tau. Under a broad class of Bayesian Stochastically Order Consistent models---which includes classical models such as Mallows and Thurstone---we prove that truthful reporting is stochastically dominant, and strongly truthful under index-equivariant strategies. This provides robust incentives even for agents with non-linear utility functions, such as risk aversion. Our mechanism further accommodates heterogeneous agents, top-K reports, and subset assignments, where each agent is scored against one randomly drawn peer. Experiments on synthetic Mallows and Thurstone data, together with a real-data stress test on the SUSHI preference dataset, show right-shifted truthful-payment distributions and the highest normalized sensitivity among tested baselines.

Cultural Adaptation within Repeated Social Interactions

原文摘要

Much of human culture is tacit and is typically learned through situated social interaction. As LLMs are deployed as interactive agents across diverse communities, assessing their cultural competence demands moving beyond existing question-answering approaches, shifting from what they know to how they adapt. In this work, we broaden the scope of cultural adaptation in NLP by investigating whether LLMs can adapt through repeated interactions via a sandbox environment. By reframing cultural adaptation as a continuous process of norm assimilation through social interaction, our work demonstrates that memory mechanisms foster longitudinal learning across repeated interactions, facilitate transfer to different social settings, and enable multilingual norm assimilation across five languages. Together, our findings lay the groundwork for continuous, interaction-driven cultural adaptation in LLMs.

Substantial, Decomposable, and Invisible: Visual Context Misalignment in Instructional Videos for Physical Tasks

原文摘要

Instructional videos are the dominant medium for completing physical tasks, yet rarely match the user's visual context. Motor simulation and cognitive load theories predict this mismatch matters, but how much, which attributes are responsible, and how users experience it remain unknown. We conduct two studies (56 participants, two first-aid and two cooking tasks) using researcher-prepared recordings to control visual alignment. Study 1 (N=16) compares fully aligned In-Context instructional videos (ICON) against business-as-usual Internet videos. ICON yields statistically significant gains: 11.1% higher completion quality and 15.5% faster completion. Qualitative analysis decomposes the effect into four visual context attributes: Task Object Intrinsic, Task Object State, Environmental Context, and Observational Context. Study 2 (N=40) ablates attributes one at a time. All four degrade objective performance yet users perceive no performance loss for any of them. Visual context misalignment is substantial, decomposable, and invisible to the user for any single attribute.

Cognitive Foundations for Reasoning and Their Manifestation in LLMs

原文摘要

Large language models (LLMs) solve complex problems yet fail on simpler variants, suggesting they achieve correct outputs through mechanisms fundamentally different from human reasoning. To understand this gap, we synthesize cognitive science research into a taxonomy of 28 cognitive elements spanning reasoning invariants, meta-cognitive controls, representations for organizing reasoning and knowledge, and transformation operations. We introduce a fine-grained evaluation framework and apply it to 192K traces from 18 models across text, vision, and audio, alongside 1,346 human think-aloud traces on a new, domain-agnostic dataset for human-model comparison. We find that models are able to deploy cognitive elements seen in human reasoning but differ in how they use them. Leveraging these patterns, we develop test-time reasoning guidance that automatically scaffolds successful reasoning topologies, improving the accuracy of the strongest models by 9.7 percentage points on ill-structured problems. Meta-analysis of 1.6K LLM reasoning papers reveals the research community concentrates on easily quantifiable elements but rarely targets self-awareness, whose use differs between human and model reasoning. By establishing a shared vocabulary between cognitive science and LLM research, our framework enables diagnosis of reasoning failures and principled development of models that reason through robust cognitive mechanisms rather than spurious shortcuts, while providing tools to test theories of human cognition at scale.

原文摘要

Visual interaction models that support users during ongoing physical tasks require evaluation in closed loop, where assistant responses can change subsequent user behavior and task outcomes. Existing benchmarks largely rely on offline replay and therefore cannot capture these effects. We introduce Interactive Visual Gym, a framework for closed-loop evaluation and training of visual interaction models through joint simulation of executable task environments and human users. We contribute three simulators that recreate everyday tasks and human-aligned action spaces across cooking, household manipulation, and mobile-interface domains, together with a persona-conditioned user simulation harness that collaborates with the assistant while incorporating controlled execution errors and other out-of-plan behaviors. We instantiate the framework as IVG-Bench, a benchmark with 315 interaction scenarios. Evaluating state-of-the-art VLMs as visual interaction models reveals substantial limitations: the best-performing model, Gemini 4 Argon, completes only 53.4% of tasks within the time limit, exhibits significant weaknesses in factual grounding and actionable guidance, and is often too slow to prevent errors when response latency is considered. We verify our evaluation protocol with a human study which finds 78.5% agreement between our interaction-quality metric and participant preferences. We further show that the environments provide useful learning signals: in a proof-of-concept GRPO experiment, closed-loop training improves both task success and interaction quality for Qwen3.5-4B model in our cooking environment.

Multimodal-SEA: Benchmarking AI Agent Security under Multimodal Social Engineering Attacks

Zhitao He, Chi Him Zhang, Chengru Han, Yi R Fung

原文摘要

Personal AI agents face social engineering attacks supported by forged multimodal content, but existing evaluations mainly focus on text-based dialogue, leaving their intrinsic security under such attacks insufficiently studied. We introduce Multimodal-SEA, an interactive benchmark comprising 608 expert-designed tasks grounded in real-world fraud cases, covering 14 domains and 152 attack scenarios with prepared multimodal content. The tasks span four difficulty levels and reflect the distinct social and cultural contexts of Chinese and English environments. Agents inspect content, verify requests, and execute actions in simulated applications, with attack outcomes grounded in verifiable tool execution logs. To enable controlled red teaming of personal agents, we design a multimodal attack harness that integrates task information, attack progression control, and multimodal content construction to evaluate their intrinsic security against adaptive social engineering attacks in simulated environments. Evaluating seven widely used multimodal models across six dimensions reveals that all are vulnerable, with attack success rates of 7.1% to 34.5%. Adding multimodal content increases attack success from 19.9% to 29.2%, despite increased proactive verification coverage. Stronger safety instructions reduce attack success without improving recognition of deceptive multimodal content, while lower attack success rates for some models accompany excessive refusal of legitimate requests.

LeanContext: Disentangling Mathematical Resources from Local Formal Context in Lean Whole-Proof Generation

原文摘要

Neural theorem proving increasingly uses retrieved premises and project context to support proof generation. Evaluating these resources requires measuring the advantage of target-selected declarations over comparable alternatives and how this advantage depends on training. We introduce LeanContext, a benchmark of 129,826 Lean whole-proof generation problems, to investigate these questions. We group selected complete preceding mathematical declarations as Mathematical Context (MC) and the remaining selected local source commands as Environment Context (EC). Four aligned input views support crossed training and inference evaluations with shared targets and original Lean verification environments. For both diffusion- and autoregressive-based models, selected declarations outperform comparable alternatives by a larger margin when training includes MC. Final-input audits identify omitted declarations referenced by the target. Prioritizing these dependencies improves Pass@32 by 1.40% and 1.70% for LLaDA and Llama, respectively, on 2,000 targets. The selection experiment operates without access to target reference proofs and holds checkpoints, EC, and inference budgets constant. The code and dataset are available at https://github.com/haaaardcvZ/LeanContext.

GPTQ-2D: Cubic-Time Two-Sided Adaptive Rounding

Jiale Chen, Torsten Hoefler, Dan Alistarh

原文摘要

Adaptive rounding methods such as GPTQ quantize the weights of a large language model (LLM) one at a time, propagating each rounding error to the weights not yet rounded. YAQA lowers the KL divergence from the original model with two-sided adaptive rounding under a Kronecker-factored Hessian, but its error feedback takes quartic work in the size of a square layer. We present GPTQ-2D, which provably computes the same rounding with cubic work, while still rounding the entries of each anti-diagonal in parallel. Its GPU implementation uses two levels of blocking to improve hardware utilization. We also extend the algorithm to Hessians with any number of Kronecker factors. In our experiments, GPTQ-2D is as accurate as YAQA and cuts the time to quantize Llama-3.1-70B-Instruct on a single NVIDIA RTX A6000 GPU from 8.6 days to 1.6 hours. Source code is available at https://github.com/IST-DASLab/GPTQ-2D.

Accepted but Wrong: Silent Failures of LLM Code Repairs after API Migrations

Xiaobo Chen, Genliang Zhu, Ziyuan Wang, Chu Wang

原文摘要

After a runtime or API migration, an LLM-repaired procedure can run cleanly yet return wrong results, and a release check on typical test inputs ships it. We report a preregistered study of 73 tasks covering 60 documented changes in CPython, Node.js and SQLite. Every candidate is executed on the real runtimes against withheld contracts. Over the complete repair space, the all-assertions gate on typical inputs released 0.410 of wrong repairs. One edge input written from the release note cut this to 0.065, and to 0.061 on 15 unseen clusters. Three inputs from a blind GPT-5.6-luna writer that never saw the program reached 0.070. Two further frozen stages enlarged the menu to 1491 fragments and then added 233 hard distractors that match the legacy output on typical inputs. The edge input (0.058) and the frontier-model writer (0.058) passed their preregistered tests. Yet 0.168 and 0.153 of the hard wrong programs still passed. Two local-model writers failed their preregistered tests. Across four model families, the edge input cut wrong releases per attempt in all three open-weight families on all three menus, for example from 0.233 to 0.057, without lowering correct completion. Self-tests helped less. A blind AI audit flagged 34 contracts as stricter than their requirements. Dropping the disputed checks changed 0 verdicts, but class-label disputes remain open. No model-written code was executed. Artifacts are available from the authors on request.

原文摘要

Egocentric human video offers a scalable source of manipulation priors for robot learning, yet translating raw data scale into generalizable robot policies demands rigorous data curation and training recipes. We introduce Open-HumanWAM, the first fully open recipe for scaling egocentric pretraining to 50,000 hours, anchored by Open-HumanWAM-50K---a curated egocentric video corpus densely annotated with hand motion and natural language. Leveraging this corpus, we systematically investigate pure human pretraining via closed-loop simulation evaluations and uncover an empirical log-linear scaling law linking pretraining data hours to downstream robot success rates. Grounded in these findings, we develop HumanWAM-Vanilla, a world--action model pretrained exclusively on 50k hours of egocentric human video. Upon robot post-training, HumanWAM-Vanilla reaches 92.08% success on RoboTwin 2.0 Clean2Clean and 68.88% on Clean2Random, alongside a 14.17% mean success rate and a 19.00 mean progress score on RoboDojo. To push the capability frontier further, we explore joint human--robot pretraining with HumanWAM-Goal, a visual-goal-conditioned world--action model. Hybrid data scaling unlocks broad zero-shot generalization across both simulation and physical benchmarks, propelling post-trained RoboTwin 2.0 performance to new state-of-the-art levels: 92.70% on Clean2Clean and a substantial leap to 84.60% on Clean2Random. On physical robots, HumanWAM-Goal further exhibits emergent embodied in-context learning, dynamically adapting its manipulation behavior to unseen visual goals without parameter updates. To support reproducible scaling research in embodied AI, we open-source the Open-HumanWAM-50K corpus, data curation and pretraining pipelines, alongside the pretrained and post-trained HumanWAM checkpoints, inference code, and simulation evaluation suites.

CTFS : Collaborative Teacher Framework for Forward-Looking Sonar Image Semantic Segmentation with Extremely Limited Labels

原文摘要

As one of the most important underwater sensing technologies, forward-looking sonar exhibits unique imaging characteristics. Sonar images are often affected by severe speckle noise, low texture contrast, acoustic shadows, and geometric distortions. These factors make it difficult for traditional teacher-student frameworks to achieve satisfactory performance in sonar semantic segmentation tasks under extremely limited labeled data conditions. To address this issue, we propose a Collaborative Teacher Semantic Segmentation Framework for forward-looking sonar images. This framework introduces a multi-teacher collaborative mechanism composed of one general teacher and multiple sonar-specific teachers. By adopting a multi-teacher alternating guidance strategy, the student model can learn general semantic representations while simultaneously capturing the unique characteristics of sonar images, thereby achieving more comprehensive and robust feature modeling. Considering the challenges of sonar images, which can lead teachers to generate a large number of noisy pseudo-labels, we further design a cross-teacher reliability assessment mechanism. This mechanism dynamically quantifies the reliability of pseudo-labels by evaluating the consistency and stability of predictions across multiple views and multiple teachers, thereby mitigating the negative impact caused by noisy pseudo-labels. Notably, on the FLSMD dataset, when only 2% of the data is labeled, our method achieves a 5.08% improvement in mIoU compared to other state-of-the-art approaches.

Beyond Empathy: Integrating Diagnostic and Therapeutic Reasoning with Large Language Models for Mental Health Counseling

He Hu, Juzheng Si, Qianning Wang, Fei Ma, Fuji Ren, Sicheng Zhao, Yucheng Zhou, Laizhong Cui

原文摘要

Large language models (LLMs) hold significant potential for psychological support, capable of generating empathetic responses and simulating therapeutic conversations. However, existing LLM-based approaches often lack sufficient grounding in structured diagnostic reasoning and diverse therapeutic strategies, limiting their effectiveness in complex counseling scenarios. To address these limitations, we propose PsyLLM, the first large language model designed to incorporate diagnostic- and therapeutic-oriented reasoning for mental health counseling. To develop PsyLLM, we design a novel automated data synthesis pipeline that processes real-world mental health posts collected from Reddit, where users frequently express psychological distress and seek community support. The pipeline transforms these posts into multi-turn counseling dialogues and leverages LLMs guided by international diagnostic standards (e.g., DSM/ICD) and multiple therapeutic frameworks (e.g., CBT, ACT, psychodynamic) to generate structured, clinically informed reasoning traces. A rigorous multi-dimensional filtering mechanism further improves the quality and clinical fidelity of the synthesized dialogue data. In addition, we introduce a new benchmark and evaluation protocol, assessing counseling performance across four key dimensions. Our experiments, along with evaluations by professional counseling experts, demonstrate that PsyLLM consistently outperforms various baseline models on this benchmark. Code, data, and models are available at https://github.com/Emo-gml/PsyLLM.

原文摘要

Recent advances in speech generation have spurred the development of speech editing techniques. However, achieving high-quality speech editing remains challenging due to two key limitations. First, the major hurdle is the lack of large-scale, high-quality speech editing datasets. Constructing such datasets is costly, while open-source, scalable data pipelines remain limited. Second, the learning dynamics of speech editing models remain poorly understood. In particular, how models acquire editing capabilities and the relationship between generation and editing remain unclear. To address these challenges, we introduce VoxCanvas-41M, a large-scale bilingual dataset comprising approximately 41 million speech editing pairs. VoxCanvas-41M covers two major categories: content editing, including single-span, multi-span, and location-reference editing, and paralinguistic editing, covering the insertion and deletion of 39 classes of nonverbal events such as laughter, sighs, and coughs. Building on VoxCanvas-41M, we train VoxCanvas-Edit, an instruction-based speech editing model, demonstrating the effectiveness of our dataset in improving editing performance. Furthermore, we systematically investigate the learning dynamics of speech editing, examining how models learn different editing operations and how data scale, task interactions, and training strategies affect editing performance. The dataset, pipeline, and demos are publicly available.

Terminal-style Mathematical Modeling Bench: The First Agentic and Verifiable Benchmark for Mathematical Modeling

Xiaojun Wu, Cehao Yang, Xuhui Jiang, Chengjin Xu, Jia Li, Jian Guo

原文摘要

Mathematical modeling turns an open-ended real-world problem into assumptions, a model, a solution, and a defended recommendation, and its answers matter only if they are both close to a credible reference and physically feasible; existing benchmarks either score solver fragments or grade reports with an LLM judge, leaving those numbers unchecked. We introduce TB-MathModel (the Terminal-style Mathematical Modeling Bench), the first benchmark to make complete contest-style modeling problems agentic, verifiable, and terminal at once, over 18 real CUMCM and MCM problems (2023--2025). Each task ships the verbatim statement, official attachments, and figures in a containerized terminal; the agent returns one JSON artifact, scored on the numeric core of the final question against a reproduction of the Outstanding-award paper. Two design choices distinguish it: direction-aware, one-sided scoring, which never penalises beating the anchor, and two-layer feasibility verification---a programmatic gate over six decidable invariant forms plus 624 Lean~4 obligations---with a hard gate that zeroes infeasible answers. Each task is scored against a panel of human outstanding papers rather than one, so a model must be close to many accepted answers; across seven multimodal entries (three seeds each) the strongest reach a multi-reference O-Eval of 64.58\%, while the \$2.54 open model holds 59.81\% at $1/100$ the cost. TB-MathModel turns the numeric core of modeling into a reproducible, machine-checkable signal for measuring long-horizon modeling competence and for collecting agent trajectories. The source code is available at https://github.com/wxj630/terminal-bench-math-modeling.

Large Language Models for Cryptocurrency Transaction Analysis: A Bitcoin Case Study

Yuchen Lei, Yuexin Xiang, Tsz Hon Yuen, Andreas Deppeler, Qin Wang, Kim-Kwang Raymond Choo

原文摘要

Cryptocurrency transaction analysis often relies on black-box machine learning models that achieve high predictive performance but offer limited interpretability of transaction behaviors. This paper investigates the capabilities of large language models (LLMs) in analyzing real-world Bitcoin transaction graphs through a three-level framework: foundational metrics, characteristic overview, and contextual interpretation. To address token constraints, we introduce LLM4TG, a compact, human-readable graph representation, and CETraS, a connectivity-enhanced graph sampling algorithm. Experiments across five LLMs show that node-level information extraction achieves over 98.50% accuracy on most metrics, while meaningful graph characteristics are identified in up to 95.00% of responses. For address classification with limited labeled examples, top-1 accuracy reaches 50.49% using raw graphs, while top-3 accuracy reaches 72.43% using engineered features. These findings demonstrate the potential of LLMs for transaction graph analysis while revealing limitations in global graph reasoning, precise address classification, and explanation reliability.
