FluxFlow: Conservative Flow-Matching for Astronomical Image Super-Resolution

Shuhong Liu, Xining Ge, Quanfeng Xu, Ziteng Cui, Liuzhuozheng Li, Gengjia Chang, Jun Liu, Ziying Gu 等 12 位作者

Ground-to-space astronomical super-resolution requires recovering space-quality images from ground-based observations that are simultaneously limited by pixel sampling resolution and atmospheric seeing, which imposes a stochastic, spatially varying PSF that cannot be resolved through upsampling alone. Existing methods rely on synthetic training pairs that fail to capture real atmospheric statistics and are prone to either over-smoothed reconstructions or hallucination sources with no physical counterpart in the observed sky. We propose FluxFlow, a conservative pixel-space flow-matching framework that incorporates observation uncertainty and source-region importance weights during training, and a training-free Wiener-regularized test-time correction to suppress hallucination sources while preserving recovered detail. We further construct the DESI--HST Dataset, the large-scale real-world benchmark comprising 19,500 real co-registered ground-to-space image pairs with real atmospheric PSF variation. Experiments demonstrate that FluxFlow consistently outperforms existing baseline methods in both photometric and scientific accuracy. Project webpage: https://i2wm.github.io/fluxflow/.

When Does Blockwise Additivity Break? Diagnosing and Repairing the Additive Assumption in Distillation-Based Architecture Search

Yuefeng Xu, Jun Yu

Blockwise distillation methods for architecture search, such as DNA, DONNA, LANA and Puzzle, score each candidate replacement block in isolation and assemble a child network by minimizing the sum of per-block scores. We test this additive assumption on DeiT-S and DeiT-B with seven replacement blocks per layer, seven block-latency budgets from 70% to 40%, three fine-tuning seeds and paired bootstrap confidence intervals. (i) At mild compression the additive integer linear program (ILP) is close to a pairwise integer quadratic program (IQP) that models block interactions, but the post-fine-tuning gap widens sharply between the 60% and 55% budgets: at 55%-40% the ILP trails the IQP by 3.3-16.6 top-1 points on ImageNet-100. (ii) We split the KL additivity error into a metric component, caused by the non-linearity of the KL in summed logit changes and computable from cached single-block logits, and a functional component, the score-level effect of non-additive logit changes. The metric component accounts for most of the error on DeiT-S (59-65%), the functional component for most of it on DeiT-B (73-76%). (iii) A hybrid search ranks moves with the logit-sum predictor and measures only the best ones. It needs no dedicated pair measurements, costs 13-27% of the IQP's pair stage, and on ImageNet-100 significantly outperforms the IQP in 7 of 14 settings, with no significant difference in 6 and a significant loss in 1. Further reducing the pre-fine-tuning KL, or scoring after a short fine-tune, gives no consistent gain. On full ImageNet-1k with 1000-class fine-tuning, the sharp widening between 60% and 55% (5.8-17.5 points at 55%-40%), the model-dependent decomposition and the hybrid's advantage (significantly better than the IQP in 13 of 14 settings, no the other) are reproduced.

WeightLoop: Weight-Space Programming with Experimental Feedback

Mengran Li, Bo Li, Weijing Zhao, Chengyang Zhang, Boyu Zhang, Jinfeng Xu, Zelin Zang, Victor C. M. Leung 等 9 位作者

Weight-space programming (WSP) shows that language models can reason about and rewrite neural network weights; recursive self-improvement (RSI) motivates feedback-driven improvement. Models guiding experiments receive concrete feedback: completed assays reveal prediction errors and inform what to test next. We introduce WeightLoop, a framework that turns experimental feedback into persistent updates to deployed predictors. GPT-6 Astra inspects a task specification and the model implementation, then writes a bounded, reusable parameter-editing program. As new measurements arrive, the program identifies prediction discrepancies, validates candidate edits using observed outcomes, and writes the selected changes back to the original model. The editor remains fixed while the predictor evolves, enabling repeated updates without further LLM calls or gradient retraining while preserving the original inference interface. In offline replay, targeted edits improve mean ranking utility in seven of eight endpoint-budget settings (all eight versus random edits) and mean final discovery across three sequential tasks. WeightLoop connects WSP with an RSI-inspired improvement loop, making experimental evidence a direct driver of model change and subsequent decisions.

UINO-FSS: Unifying Representation Learning and Few-shot Segmentation via Hierarchical Distillation and Mamba-HyperCorrelation

Wei Zhuo, Zhiyue Tang, Wufeng Xue, Hao Ding, Junkai Ji, Linlin Shen

Few-shot semantic segmentation has attracted growing interest for its ability to generalize to novel object categories using only a few annotated samples. To address data scarcity, recent methods incorporate multiple foundation models to improve feature transferability and segmentation performance. However, they often rely on dual-branch architectures that combine pre-trained encoders to leverage complementary strengths, a design that limits flexibility and efficiency. This raises a fundamental question: can we build a unified model that integrates knowledge from different foundation architectures? Achieving this is, however, challenging due to the misalignment between class-agnostic segmentation capabilities and fine-grained discriminative representations. To this end, we present UINO-FSS, a novel framework built on the key observation that early-stage DINOv2 features exhibit distribution consistency with SAM's output embeddings. This consistency enables the integration of both models' knowledge into a single-encoder architecture via coarse-to-fine multimodal distillation. In particular, our segmenter consists of three core components: a bottleneck adapter for embedding alignment, a meta-visual prompt generator that leverages dense similarity volumes and semantic embeddings, and a mask decoder. Using hierarchical cross-model distillation, we effectively transfer SAM's knowledge into the segmenter, further enhanced by Mamba-based 4D correlation mining on support-query pairs. Extensive experiments on PASCAL-5$^i$ and COCO-20$^i$ show that UINO-FSS achieves new state-of-the-art results under the 1-shot setting, with mIoU of 80.6 (+3.8%) on PASCAL-5$^i$ and 64.5 (+4.1%) on COCO-20$^i$, demonstrating the effectiveness of our unified approach.

PrimeSim: A Generalist World Model Simulator from Large-Scale Cross-Embodiment Demonstrations

Travis Davies, Wentao Ma, Lihao Guo, Tengfei Ma, Xiaowen Chang, Jiafeng Xu, Shilong Wang, Yiqi Deng 等 13 位作者

A robot world model that serves as a simulator must do more than generate plausible videos: it must faithfully follow commanded actions, maintain consistency across camera views, and sustain coherent long-horizon rollouts. We present PrimeSim, an action-conditioned, multiview world model simulator that addresses these challenges through progressive midtraining and posttraining. Starting from a pretrained video generator, we midtrain on 30,110 hours of robot demonstrations spanning 22 platforms. To improve action following, we introduce a unified cross-embodiment action representation and frame-aligned dual-path conditioning to strengthen action-frame correspondence. To maintain multiview consistency, we develop view-aware interleaved attention with explicit camera identities, enabling cross-view information exchange while preserving view-specific representations. We further introduce a fast-video, slow-memory posttraining framework that transforms the bidirectional video generator into an efficient autoregressive simulator. By combining fast causal generation, self-rollout training, and hierarchical temporal memory, PrimeSim mitigates error accumulation from self-generated histories and supports coherent long-horizon simulation. PrimeSim runs at 10.1 FPS, remains stable over long-horizon rollouts on rigid and deformable manipulation tasks, and transfers to held-out platforms within 100 to 200 gradient steps where the pretrained backbone does not. Against five open-source action-conditioned world models it leads four of the five WorldSimProbe suites and posts the best overall EWMBench score, while fine-grained local calibration still trails the field; its rollouts are faithful enough to support GRPO-based policy optimization. We release the model weights, inference code, and training code.

A Symbolic-Neural Framework for Context-Aware Evidence Extraction from Mobile SQLite Databases

Jeel Piyushkumar Khatiwala, Divyangkumar Patel, Dianxiang Xu, Weifeng Xu

Reliable forensic evidence extraction from mobile SQLite databases is challenging because application schemas are undocumented, evolve across releases, and differ across operating systems, making schema-specific methods brittle and difficult to maintain. We present SNEEF, a symbolic-neural framework for context-aware evidence extraction that encodes each SQLite row as context-value pairs with standardized provenance metadata and column labels, uses a language model to recognize nine forensic entity types, and binds each accepted entity to its source table and row through the PA-EEP provenance protocol. We evaluate SNEEF against examiner-verified ground truth from five corpora built from public Android and iOS device images, spanning multiple application versions. SNEEF achieves an F1 score of 0.967 for evidence entities extracted from SQLite row content, excluding application names, compared with 0.728 for a context-free configuration, with consistent gains across all corpora. We also introduce an Evidence Failure Mode taxonomy to characterize why extraction errors occur.

Multimodal Prompt Learning with Dual-Granularity Contrastive Alignment for Preoperative Prediction of Lung Adenocarcinoma Invasiveness Using 3D CT

Qing Huang, Xiaotong Tan, Lintong Yao, Wufeng Xue, Ruobing Huang, Dong Ni, Hao Wu, Tian Xiao 等 9 位作者

Accurate preoperative prediction of lung adenocarcinoma invasiveness is important for surgical planning and individualized treatment. However, overlapping CT appearances make it challenging to distinguish invasive adenocarcinoma (IAD) from Pre-IAD lesions. We propose a multimodal prompt-learning framework with dual-granularity image-text alignment for 3D CT-based IAD classification. A 3D ResNet-CBAM encoder extracts global and spatial visual features. A frozen RadBERT backbone is adapted with separate learnable prompts for report-level and keyword-level text encoding. These prompts are initialized using semantic representations derived from real-world clinical reports. Global contrastive alignment connects whole-volume CT representations with reports generated from clinician-annotated radiological attributes to provide overall semantic supervision. A multiple instance learning-based local alignment module associates spatial CT features with vascular-focused radiological keywords, to capture local imaging characteristics potentially associated with tumor invasion. The framework jointly optimizes classification and alignment objectives, while inference requires only CT images. Experiments included 1,593 pathologically confirmed nodules. On the test set, the proposed method achieved an accuracy of 87.92%, F1-score of 87.78%, and AUC of 0.9499. Its AUC significantly exceeded that of the image-only Res-CBAM baseline with the same visual backbone (0.9297; DeLong test, p = 0.0078). Ablation analyses supported the complementary contributions of global and local alignment and the benefit of report-based prompt initialization. Qualitative visualizations showed activation within nodules and adjacent vascular structures. These findings suggest that dual-granularity radiological supervision can enhance CT-based invasiveness prediction while preserving a CT-only inference workflow.

Value-Conditioned Proposal Acquisition for Test-Time Reasoning

Zeyan Li, Jianfeng Xu

Sampling and selection spend test-time compute inside a candidate pool, but they cannot recover a correct answer that never enters it. We introduce ValueFormation, a test-time policy that decides after each primary-model draw whether to stop, continue sampling, or acquire one proposal from a heterogeneous reasoning specialist. The three actions are compared on one cost-regularized value scale learned from vote-state features; the calibration is frozen across tasks and primary models, and acquired proposals are accepted only through a frozen posterior comparison. On held-out MATH-500, one Llama-fitted calibration improves over the strongest of eight identically evaluated baselines by more than fifteen points for each of three 8B primaries and transfers unchanged to Qwen3-14B. Removing acquisition lowers Llama MATH accuracy by 20.43 points, while same-trace and same-access replays attribute the gain to state-conditioned acquisition rather than specialist access alone. Where primary coverage is high, as on GSM8K, acquisition is rare and gains mainly come from cheaper allocation; on MBPP, a fixed code route attains the top accuracy at the lowest interaction cost. Varying the token price monotonically reduces calls without retraining.

PhysOmni: Physics-Grounded Multi-Object Scene Generation from a Single Image with Real-Time Interaction

Xin Zhang, Yabo Chen, Yijie Fang, Wanying Qu, Haibin Huang, Chi Zhang, Feng Xu, Xuelong Li

Recent generative video models achieve impressive visual quality but remain constrained by limited physical consistency and controllability. Existing video generation methods provide minimal physical control, and single-image-to-3D conversion approaches often suffer from object interpenetration. Furthermore, physics-based scene-level 3D generation methods exhibit spatial misalignment, stylized artifacts, and inconsistencies with the input data, restricting their use in realistic interactive video synthesis. We propose PhysOmni, a training-free framework that converts a single image into a physically consistent and controllable video through holistic scene-level 3D reconstruction. By rep?resenting the full scene geometry in a unified spatial coordinate system, PhysOmni resolves object penetration and alignment ambiguity. Unlike prior methods, this formulation enables accurate scene?level multi-object interactions and introduces richer, complex control types for advanced mechanics?based manipulation. By decoupling simulation from rendering, PhysOmni bypasses latency-heavy priors, achieving real-time physical interaction previews paired while preserving photorealistic visual fidelity. Experimental results demonstrate that PhysOmni substantially outperforms prior methods in physical fidelity, spatial coherence, and controllability. ClinFusion: A Vision-Centric Multimodal LLM System for Holistic Medical Understanding

Hangjie Yuan, Yichen Qian, Zhiwei Tang, Xianzhe Xu, Sicheng Yang, Lirong Wu, Jinwang Wang, Pengju Wang 等 24 位作者

Multimodal large language models (MLLMs) hold immense potential to revolutionize clinical practice, yet deploying them in the medical domain is fundamentally a vision-centric challenge: models must absorb knowledge from heterogeneous 2D and 3D medical images, and evaluation protocols must align with radiologists' clinical practice and provide an accurate, fine-grained and factualness-driven assessment. In this paper, we introduce ClinFusion, a vision-centric MLLM designed for holistic medical understanding that systematically addresses these limitations. We propose a compositional and cascaded vision encoder architecture featuring a Cascade Spatial-Aware Locality Fusion operator that unifies diverse 2D and native 3D medical image understanding within a fused encoder. We further introduce a vision-grounded evaluation framework, including MedIF-Bench for instruction-following assessment and a region-of-interest-grounded method for clinically aligned and factualness-driven report generation evaluation. We show that ClinFusion sets a new state-of-the-art across a comprehensive suite of 2D and 3D multimodal medical benchmarks---spanning visual question answering, report generation, and instruction following---as well as textual medical tasks, outperforming leading open-source medical MLLMs (\textit{e.g.}, Hulu-Med, Lingshu) on 20 out of 24 benchmarks and demonstrating multimodal capabilities better than powerful proprietary models such as GPT-5.2 and Gemini-3-Flash on 13 out of 16 benchmarks, and can be further augmented with agentic tool use for retrieval-augmented and tool-assisted clinical workflows. A blinded evaluation by board-certified radiologists confirms that ClinFusion produces the highest-ranked reports, and validates our RoI-grounded metric as achieving the strongest correlation with expert judgment among all automatic evaluation metrics examined.

LIPAR: Training-free Latent Inter-Frame Pruning with Attention Recovery

Dennis Menn, Yuedong Yang, Bokun Wang, Xiwen Wei, Mustafa Munir, Feng Liang, Radu Marculescu, Chenfeng Xu 等 9 位作者

Video generation enables text-to-video synthesis, video editing, and motion-controlled content creation. However, current video generation models suffer from high computational latency, rendering true real-time capabilities infeasible for downstream tasks. We address this limitation by exploiting the temporal redundancy inherent in video latent patches. To this end, we propose the Latent Inter-frame Pruning with Attention Recovery (LIPAR) framework, which detects and skips recomputing duplicated latent patches. Additionally, we introduce a novel Attention Recovery mechanism that approximates the attention values of pruned tokens, thereby removing visual artifacts arising from naively applying the pruning method. Empirically, our method increases generation throughput by $1.45\times$, on average achieving 12.2 FPS on an NVIDIA A6000 compared to the baseline 8.4 FPS. The proposed method does not compromise generation quality and can be seamlessly integrated with Diffusion Transformer without additional training. Our approach effectively bridges the gap between traditional compression algorithms and modern generative pipelines.

ETC-Bench: A Multilingual Benchmark for Evaluation-Side Transcript Canonicalization

Zhiheng Qian, Junhao Du, Jing Peng, Hanqi Li, Kunyang Peng, Feng Xue, Shuai Wang, Kai Yu

Written transcripts of the same speech can differ in ways that are not uniquely determined by the speech signal. We formulate evaluation-side transcript canonicalization (ETC), which maps multiple surface forms to a single canonical form when their differences are not determined by speech. To our knowledge, ETC-Bench is the first and most comprehensive multilingual benchmark for evaluation-side transcript canonicalization, covering 181 phenomenon types across 12 languages. Each instance is a minimal pair that shares a sentence context and differs only in a target span exhibiting one phenomenon. To evaluate both canonicalization success and semantic preservation, we propose Semantic-preserving Exact-match Normalization Accuracy (SENA), which combines exact agreement between independently canonicalized pair members with a pair-relative BERTScore constraint against information loss. We further introduce the Taxonomy-guided Agent Canonicalization Skill (TACS), which provides LLM agents with phenomenon descriptions and explicit canonicalization contracts. Experiments with five baseline configurations and three TACS-based agents show that the agents outperform the baseline systems on shared languages. ETC-Bench provides a systematic testbed for evaluation-side transcript canonicalization across languages.

RuleForge: Inferring and Instantiating Latent Visual Rules as Executable Programs

Weifeng Xu, Yaxiong Wang, Zhedong Zheng

Visual rule reasoning asks whether multimodal models can recover an abstract concept from a few examples. Existing studies either infer rules from visual examples but evaluate only classification or verbalization, or supervise executable generation with rules provided as input. Consequently, the relationship between visual rule understanding and reliable rule instantiation remains insufficiently explored. We present Bongard-Forge100k, a controlled benchmark, together with RuleForge, a backbone-agnostic framework that jointly learns visual rule understanding and rule-conditioned executable generation. The benchmark contains 108,797 problems: 86,000 for training, 19,297 for testing familiar rules, and 3,500 for testing held-out rule compositions. The framework progresses through rule-understanding training, joint understanding and scene-program supervision, and refinement via execution-grounded reinforcement learning with Understanding Replay. Executing generated programs under multiple random seeds provides verifiable feedback on executability, rule satisfaction, diversity, and robustness. With UniLIP as the primary backbone, RuleForge improves multiple-choice accuracy over the base model by 20.93 percentage points on familiar rules and 28.42 percentage points on held-out rule compositions, while increasing scene-level rule satisfaction on familiar rules from 2.91% to 70.99%. Additional experiments on InternVL3.5, Qwen3-VL, and Show-o2 demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed training data and framework across diverse multimodal architectures.

UniWorld: A Unified World Model for Real-Time Visual World Simulation

Xin Zhang, Yabo Chen, Shuaiwei Wang, Zixuan Duan, Haibin Huang, Feng Xu, Xuelong Li

Continuous visual world simulation requires coupling evolving scene geometry with temporally persistent appearance. We present UniWorld, a unified framework that integrates depth trajectories and reference appearance within a shared video generation model. The central design maintains visual and geometric histories on a common timeline. Noise-aligned overlapping continuation places generated history at the prescribed sampling noise level and commits only newly generated latents. Rolling depth latent state preserves the corresponding geometric controls, incrementally reads newly available geometry, and keeps the conditioning fixed within each sampling window. Together, these mechanisms ensure exact preservation of latent history while bounding the active depth state by the window size. We evaluate continuous generation, paired history interventions, and long-horizon behavior across diverse scene categories. The same generator supports estimated, native, and on-demand simulator depth, while cached and incremental execution paths produce bitwise-identical outputs. Appearance changes and geometric control branches operate through the same interface without modifying committed history. The measured steady-state DiT execution path achieves real-time generation throughput, demonstrating the efficiency of UniWorld for continuous visual world simulation. 3GPP-Compatible Long-Range Sensing for LEO-ISAC: A Window-Grid Processing Framework

Yi Geng, Xun Fan, Chenfeng Xu, Yu Zhao

This paper addresses long-range sensing in bistatic low-Earth-orbit integrated sensing and communication (LEO-ISAC). Conventional OFDM sensing fails in LEO-ISAC because millisecond-scale propagation delays destroy the transmitter--receiver symbol alignment and, with multiple targets, make the receive window longer than the transmitted block. We propose a window-grid (WG) processing framework that exploits the known beam-intersection swath to resolve both problems purely at the receiver, leaving the 3GPP symbol structure unmodified: the swath delay span is folded into cyclic-prefix-sized slices, each handled by one WG. With 103.2 MHz bandwidth at bistatic ranges beyond 640 km, simulations demonstrate meter-level ranging of two targets, and 1000 Monte-Carlo trials over random target--satellite geometries show that, with an ephemeris-based satellite-selection rule, every target is detected with a 90th-percentile range error of 2.4 m.

LineageMark: Multi-user White-box Watermarking for Contribution Tracing in Model Derivation Chains

Bingxue Zhang, Xiaofeng Xu, Feida Zhu

In open large language model (LLM) ecosystems, models are frequently adapted across multiple domains and applications, forming multi-stage derivation chains. Consequently, tracking and verifying historical contributions is essential for model provenance and intellectual property protection. However, existing watermarking methods are mainly designed for single-user, one-time embeddings, often fail under repeated model derivation and incremental updates. To address this problem, we propose LineageMark, a multi-user white-box watermarking framework for model derivation chains. The framework encodes watermarks in model parameters using a projection-based approach. Stable carriers are first selected to reduce sensitivity to model changes, each watermark bit is then represented as a projection statistic over these carriers. Additional watermark insertions introduce only bounded perturbations in the projection space, and margin constraints are used to maintain signal integrity. We evaluate the effectiveness of LineageMark in multi-stage model derivation chains. Experimental results show that LineageMark preserves contributor watermarks across multi-stage derivation and supports incremental multi-user watermark insertion. Furthermore, it exhibits robustness against perturbations such as re-watermarking, fine-tuning, quantization, and pruning.

MAPLE-Sec: Mobility-Aware Partitioned Language-Model Engine for Roaming IoT Security

Yuhang Qiu, Ziwei Li, Jinfeng Xu, Jialiang Xie, Fangmin Ren, Shirong Guo, Jing Yang, Sunil Prajapat 等 9 位作者

Mobile Internet-of-Things (IoT) endpoints such as connected vehicles, wearables, and drones continuously cross heterogeneous network domains, creating handover-driven attack surfaces that static, cloud-anchored detectors cannot follow. However, three obstacles block real-time detection on such roaming endpoints: detection state is lost at every inter-domain handover; transmitting raw telemetry to a fixed detector exhausts the uplink and the device battery; and full-depth language model inference cannot meet millisecond latency budgets on constrained hardware. To tackle these challenges, we propose MAPLE-Sec, a mobility-aware partitioning framework that splits a compact, security-tuned language model across a roaming device and its nearest edge node. First, a trajectory-conditioned partition scheduler recomputes the split point from predicted handover timing, residual battery, and uplink quality. Second, a token-budgeted early-exit mechanism emits a verdict at the shallowest layer that meets a confidence threshold. Finally, a learned activation-compression codec migrates the intermediate inference state across edge nodes during handover without retransmitting raw telemetry. We formalize the partition-and-migration decision as an on-device constrained optimization solved in sub-millisecond time. Extensive experiments across the CIC-IoT and Edge-IIoTset corpora under both IID and non-IID roaming conditions demonstrate that MAPLE-Sec sustains detection across mobility events, improving the converged F1-score by up to 9.3\% relative to Cloud-only and by 2.9 percentage points over the strongest edge-collaborative baseline (EdgeShard), while reducing end-to-end latency by up to 2.5$\times$. Ablation confirms that the activation-compression codec reduces migration energy by 2.4$\times$ versus the raw-activation migration variant.

REACH: An RL-based Hierarchical Humanoid Crawling Framework for Adaptable Confined Space Traversal

Shengzhang Xu, Yuning Guo, Weiyi Hu, Yifeng Xu, Zhongyu Li, He Kong

Humanoid locomotion in confined spaces requires continuous height adaptation across multiple locomotion modes, yet most existing approaches remain limited to height-adjustable bipedal walking. We present REACH, an RL-based hierarchical framework that enables a Unitree G1 humanoid to traverse height-constrained environments through variable-height bipedal walking and crawling. The learned policies regulate body height over complementary command ranges of 1.27--0.50m in bipedal locomotion and 0.50--0.20m in crawling, extending traversal beyond the clearance limits of crouched walking. To address contact-rich crawling dynamics, we employ a history-conditioned latent representation that captures terrain and interaction context from proprioceptive observations. A bidirectional transition policy further connects crouched bipedal locomotion and crawling across large kinematic and contact discontinuities. These skills are integrated with a LiDAR-based planner that converts point clouds into collision-free three-dimensional paths and locomotion commands, including proactive height targets. Real-world experiments demonstrate accurate height and velocity tracking, robust terrain traversal, reliable mode transitions and confined-space traversal with the proposed pipeline. Agentic Data Sampling Framework for Multilingual ASR via Linguistic-Aware Error-Driven Optimization

Zhiheng Qian, Junhao Du, Jing Peng, Hanqi Li, Kunyang Peng, Feng Xue, Lu Chen, Shuai Wang 等 9 位作者

Multilingual automatic speech recognition (ASR) has achieved rapid progress with large-scale pretrained models and multilingual speech corpora. Previous studies have proved the pivotal role of data sampling in multilingual ASR performance. However, existing sampling strategies largely rely on time-consuming manual, heuristic-based designs. To address this, we propose a linguistic-aware agentic data sampling framework that introduces a data sampling LLM agent into the multilingual ASR training loop. The agent is driven by a linguistically grounded rubric that analyzes ASR errors from phonological, morphological, and syntactic perspectives, and uses the resulting feedback together with training statistics, budget constraints, and algorithm profiles to select domain-level, sample-level, and token-level sampling strategies. This design turns evaluation results into adaptive data-selection decisions rather than treating WER/CER as final endpoints only. We conduct experiments on twelve Common Voice languages using Whisper-medium as the ASR backbone. The results show that our method achieves performance better than full-data training while using less training data and lower computational resources, and substantially accelerates training convergence compared to conventional sampling strategies.

Uncertainty-Guided Counterfactual Sensor Selection and Safety-Gated Recognition for Autonomous Sensing Agents in IoT Systems

Shirong Guo, Hongming Zhou, Muhammad Attique Khan, Jinfeng Xu, Yonis Gulzar, Manar Mousa Altamimi, Kunfu Wang

Autonomous IoT systems rely on distributed sensing, but sensor faults and communication loss can leave multichannel evidence incomplete or unreliable. Their agents must therefore classify measurements, assess evidence sufficiency, select a sensor to reacquire, and hand off unsafe decisions. We formulate counterfactual sensing: a degraded window defines the factual state, each candidate restoration defines a controlled alternative, and a pre-request utility model estimates loss reduction. Physics-Guided Invariant-Kinematic Fusion (PGIK-Fusion) constructs class evidence, while calibrated risk and cost-sensitive utility select acceptance, sensor request, or handoff from factual information. On the Logistic Activity Recognition Challenge dataset, PGIK-Fusion achieves 0.768 accuracy and a macro-averaged F1 score (Macro-F1) of 0.696, exceeding extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost)--one-dimensional convolutional neural network (1D-CNN) fusion by 2.49 and 2.00 percentage points, respectively. Across seven predefined degradation conditions on held-out subjects, the policy reduces unsafe acceptance from 33.0% to 13.8%; relative to an action-rate-matched random policy, it raises automation accuracy by 18.5 percentage points and lowers expected cost by 24.7%. In the auxiliary within-event wind-turbine study, PGIK-Fusion reaches 0.975 Macro-F1, improves on XGBoost--1D-CNN by 1.17 percentage points, and reduces unsafe acceptance from 20.1% to 8.0%. The evaluation characterizes the controlled responses of a frozen recognition model to specified sensor restorations under predefined fault families and severities. Within this scope, the results demonstrate that calibrated recognition, targeted evidence acquisition, and conservative deferral can form a unified perception--action loop that reduces unsafe automation under sensor degradation.

GLIMPSE: Global-Local Indexing with Multi-Precision Spectral Encoding for Explorable Video World Models

Zhufeng Xu, Henglei Lv, Bailin Deng, Yikang Ding, Xiaoqiang Liu, Guoxin Zhang, Hongbo Fu, Lin Gao

A camera-controlled video world model must keep a scene consistent when the camera returns to it. Memories that render stored features into the target frame can turn depth and pose errors into ghosting or duplicated structure. Positional transport avoids that resampling by relocating a historical patch's address rather than its content, but assigns full positional precision even to inaccurate projections. We present GLIMPSE, a global-local memory interface with band-wise multi-precision coordinates and geometry-conditioned spectral attenuation to reduce sensitivity to inaccurate projected addresses. Local patch memory supplies view-specific appearance, while recurrent global memory provides scene context. Footprint-guided retrieval selects historical patches under a fixed local read budget. Under matched retrieval and read budgets, GLIMPSE improves geometric correspondence and photometric consistency over deterministic positional transport.

Satellite Intelligence: Distributed Training, Collaborative Inference, and LLM Adaptation in LEO Constellation

Zheng Lin, Zhanwei Wang, Yuxin Zhang, Yafei Wang, Ons Aouedi, Zihan Fang, Jinfeng Xu, Jing Yang 等 12 位作者

The proliferation of orbital sensing data and the real-time demands of emerging global services are pushing low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks from bent-pipe relays toward intelligent onboard processing. This shift confronts a fundamental tension, where modern artificial intelligence (AI) training paradigms require intensive computation, abundant memory, and stable connectivity, all of which are scarce under the dynamic topologies, intermittent links, and severe size, weight, and power (SWaP) constraints of satellite networks. Addressing this tension demands rethinking AI workflows, from training and inference to the emerging deployment of large language models (LLMs), under a constraint-aware design philosophy. To the best of our knowledge, this paper provides the first survey that jointly covers all three, whereas prior surveys examine these aspects in isolation. We begin by identifying the deployment challenge of satellite intelligence (SI) and deriving design principles for SI. We then examine three advancing paradigms: i) distributed training, where federated learning (FL) and split learning (SL) enable satellite-ground co-training under resource limitations; ii) collaborative inference, which exploits single-satellite, multi-satellite, and satellite-ground architectures to meet real-time service demands; and iii) on-orbit LLM adaptation and serving, which tackles the frontier challenge of deploying LLMs under severe orbital constraints and resource-aware serving. Finally, we identify open challenges and future directions. By bridging the AI and satellite networks, this paper provides a research roadmap for the implementation of space-native AI technologies.

ArgGenBench: Benchmarking the Complex Controlled Argument Generation Capability of Large Language Models

Bojun Jin, Jianzhu Bao Nanyang Technological University, Yang Sun, Yice Zhang, Ruifeng Xu Harbin Institute of Technology

Argument generation is a fundamental NLP task that aims to automatically produce persuasive arguments.Effective human argumentation is inherently complex and multifaceted, integrating argumentative strategies, appropriate styles, and adaptation to target audiences, etc. However, existing studies focus on limited control signals such as topic, stance, or key aspects, failing to capture this complexity. As LLMs advance, the lack of benchmarks evaluating multifaceted argumentative control becomes a critical bottleneck. To address this, we introduce ArgGenBench, a novel benchmark containing complex instructions that integrate multi-dimensional control, including topic, stance, length, style, strategy, audience, and key points.Extensive evaluation across 15 LLMs reveals significant limitations: even the best-performing model achieves only 42.7% win rate against human-verified references. These results highlight the challenge of controlled argument generation and establish ArgGenBench as a rigorous testbed for developing more capable systems.

Verify Before You Commit: Towards Faithful Reasoning in LLM Agents via Self-Auditing

Wenhao Yuan The University of Hong Kong,, Chenchen Lin, Jian Chen, Jinfeng Xu The University of Hong Kong, Xuehe Wang Sun Yat-sen Univerisity, Edith Cheuk-Han Ngai

In large language model (LLM) agents, reasoning trajectories are treated as reliable internal beliefs for guiding actions and updating memory. However, coherent reasoning can still violate logical or evidential constraints, allowing unsupported beliefs repeatedly stored and propagated across decision steps, leading to systematic behavioral drift in long-horizon agentic systems. Most existing strategies rely on the consensus mechanism, conflating agreement with faithfulness. In this paper, inspired by the vulnerability of unfaithful intermediate reasoning trajectories, we propose Self-Audited Verified Reasoning (SAVeR), a novel framework that enforces verification over internal belief states within the agent before action commitment, achieving faithful reasoning. Concretely, we structurally generate persona-based diverse candidate beliefs for selection under a faithfulness-relevant structure space. To achieve reasoning faithfulness, we perform adversarial auditing to localize violations and repair through constraint-guided minimal interventions under verifiable acceptance criteria. Extensive experiments on six benchmark datasets demonstrate that our approach consistently improves reasoning faithfulness while preserving competitive end-task performance.

MIND Your Reasoning: A Meta-Cognitive Intuitive-Reflective Network for Dual-Reasoning in Multimodal Stance Detection

Bingbing Wang, Zhengda Jin, Bin Liang The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Wenjie Li The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Jing Li The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Ruifeng Xu Harbin Institute of Technology, Min Zhang Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen and Harbin Institute of Technology

Multimodal Stance Detection (MSD) is a crucial task for understanding public opinion on social media. Existing methods predominantly operate by learning to fuse modalities. They lack an explicit reasoning process to discern how inter-modal dynamics, such as irony or conflict, collectively shape the user’s final stance, leading to frequent misjudgments. To address this, we advocate for a paradigm shift from learning to fuse to learning to reason. We introduce MIND, a Meta-cognitive Intuitive-reflective Network for Dual-reasoning. Inspired by the dual-process theory of human cognition, MIND operationalizes a self-improving loop. It first generates a rapid, intuitive hypothesis by querying evolving Modality and Semantic Experience Pools. Subsequently, a meta-cognitive reflective stage uses Modality-CoT and Semantic-CoT to scrutinize this initial judgment, distill superior adaptive strategies, and evolve the experience pools themselves. These dual experience structures are continuously refined during training and recalled at inference to guide robust and context-aware stance decisions. Extensive experiments on the MMSD benchmark demonstrate that our MIND significantly outperforms most baseline models and exhibits strong generalization.

SOAPTriage: SOAP-Guided Multi-View Clinical Text Modeling Framework for Automated ESI Prediction

Enming Wang, Jianlei Wang Key Laboratory of Computing Power Network and Information Security, Ministry of Education, Shandong Computer Science Center (National Supercomputer Center in Jinan), Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences), Xueping Peng University of Technology Sydney, Hongjiao Guan, Yinglong Wang, Sibo Wei Zhongke Wenge Technology Co., Ltd, Jianbin Guo Institute of automation, Chinese academy of science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ruifeng Xu Harbin Institute of Technology 等 9 位作者

Emergency departments (ED) rely on the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) to assess patient acuity and prioritize care, a process that is largely driven by clinical triage text. Despite recent progress in automated ESI prediction, two fundamental challenges remain: the scarcity of high-quality triage text data due to privacy and regulatory constraints and the lack of a clinically grounded triage framework capable of explicitly capturing the multidimensional structure of triage reasoning. To address these challenges, we draw inspiration from the clinically grounded SOAP paradigm, in which SOAP refers to Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan and captures four complementary aspects of clinical reasoning. Building on this paradigm, we propose SOAPTriage, a SOAP-guided multi-view clinical text modeling framework for automated ESI prediction. To mitigate data scarcity, SOAPTriage introduces a Clinical Note Augmentation (CNA) module that generates natural-language triage notes from structured ED records, resulting in 15,393 augmented clinical notes derived from a real-world dataset. To incorporate clinical structure, SOAPTriage employs a SOAP-Guided Encoding (SGE) module that models patient conditions from four complementary SOAP perspectives, together with an adaptive SOAP-Aware Aggregation and Inference (SAAI) module that performs multi-view reasoning to infer ESI levels. Extensive experiments show that SOAPTriage consistently outperforms strong prompting-based, multi-agent, and encoder-based baselines, demonstrating the effectiveness of SOAP-guided multi-view clinical text modeling for automated emergency triage.

WildFeedback: Aligning LLMs With In-situ User Interactions And Feedback

Taiwei Shi, Zhuoer Wang Amazon, Longqi Yang Microsoft, Ying-Chun Lin Amazon, Zexue He, Mengting Wan Microsoft, Pei Zhou Microsoft, Sujay Kumar Jauhar Microsoft Research 等 15 位作者

As large language models (LLMs) continue to advance, aligning these models with human preferences has emerged as a critical challenge. Traditional alignment methods, relying on human or LLM annotated datasets, are limited by their resource-intensive nature, inherent subjectivity, misalignment with real-world user preferences, and the risk of feedback loops that amplify model biases. To overcome these limitations, we introduce WildFeedback, a novel framework that leverages in-situ user feedback during conversations with LLMs to create preference datasets automatically. Given a corpus of multi-turn user-LLM conversation, WildFeedback identifies and classifies user feedback to LLM responses between conversation turns. The user feedback is then used to create examples of preferred and dispreferred responses according to users’ preference. Our experiments demonstrate that LLMs fine-tuned on WildFeedback dataset exhibit significantly improved alignment with user preferences, as evidenced by both traditional benchmarks and our proposed checklist-guided evaluation. By incorporating in-situ feedback from actual users, WildFeedback addresses the scalability, subjectivity, and bias challenges that plague existing approaches, marking a significant step toward developing LLMs that are more responsive to the diverse and evolving needs of their users.

FS-Researcher: Test-Time Scaling for Long-Horizon Research Tasks with File-System-Based Agents

Chiwei Zhu, Benfeng Xu, Mingxuan Du University of Science and Technology of China, Shaohan Wang, Xiaorui Wang Yuanshi- 元石科技, Zhendong Mao University of Science and Technology of China, Yongdong Zhang University of Science and Technology of China

Deep research is emerging as a representative long-horizon task for large language model (LLM) agents. However, long trajectories in deep research often exceed model context limits, compressing token budgets for both evidence collection and report writing, and preventing effective test-time scaling. We introduce FS-Researcher, a file-system-based, dual-agent framework that scales deep research beyond the context window via a persistent workspace. Specifically, a Context Builder agent acts as a librarian which browses the internet, writes structured notes, and archives raw sources into a hierarchical knowledge base that can grow far beyond context length. A Report Writer agent then composes the final report section by section, treating the knowledge base as the source of facts. In this framework, the file system serves as a durable external memory and a shared coordination medium across agents and sessions, enabling iterative refinement beyond the context window. Experiments on two open-ended benchmarks (DeepResearch Bench and DeepConsult) show that FS-Researcher achieves state-of-the-art report quality across different backbone models. Further analyses demonstrate a positive correlation between final report quality and the computation allocated to the Context Builder, validating effective test-time scaling under the file-system paradigm. The code and data are open-sourced at https://github.com/Ignoramus0817/FS-Researcher.

OCR-Memory: Optical Context Retrieval for Long-Horizon Agent Memory

Jinze Li, Yang Zhang, Xin Yang, Jiayi QU Yonsei University, Jinfeng Xu The University of Hong Kong, Shuo Yang, Junhua Ding University of North Texas, Edith Cheuk-Han Ngai

Autonomous LLM agents increasingly operate in long-horizon, interactive settings where success depends on reusing experience accumulated over extended histories. However, existing agent memory systems are fundamentally constrained by text-context budgets: storing or revisiting raw trajectories is prohibitively token-expensive, while summarization and text-only retrieval trade token savings for information loss and fragmented evidence. To address this limitation, we propose Optical Context Retrieval Memory (OCR-Memory), a memory framework that leverages the visual modality as a high-density representation of agent experience, enabling retention of arbitrarily long histories with minimal prompt overhead at retrieval time. Specifically, OCR-Memory renders historical trajectories into images annotated with unique visual identifiers. OCR-Memory retrieves stored experience via a locate-and-transcribe paradigm that selects relevant regions through visual anchors and retrieves the corresponding verbatim text, avoiding free-form generation and reducing hallucination. Experiments on long-horizon agent benchmarks show consistent gains under strict context limits, demonstrating that optical encoding increases effective memory capacity while preserving faithful evidence recovery.

Controllable LLM Reasoning via Sparse Autoencoder-Based Steering

Yi Fang, Wenjie Wang University of Science and Technology of China, Mingfeng Xue Sichuan University, Boyi Deng University of Science and Technology of China, Fengli Xu Tsinghua University, Tsinghua University, Dayiheng Liu Alibaba Group, Fuli Feng University of Science and Technology of China

Large Reasoning Models (LRMs) exhibit human-like cognitive reasoning strategies (e.g. backtracking, cross-verification) during reasoning process, which improves their performance on complex tasks. Currently, reasoning strategies are autonomously selected by LRMs themselves. However, such autonomous selection often produces inefficient or even erroneous reasoning paths. To make reasoning more reliable and flexible, it is important to develop methods for controlling reasoning strategies. Existing methods struggle to control fine-grained reasoning strategies due to conceptual entanglement in LRMs’ hidden states. To address this, we leverage Sparse Autoencoders (SAEs) to decompose strategy-entangled hidden states into a disentangled feature space. To identify the few strategy-specific features from the vast pool of SAE features, we propose SAE-Steering, an efficient two-stage feature identification pipeline. SAE-Steering first recalls features that amplify the logits of strategy-specific keywords, filtering out over 99% of features, and then ranks the remaining features by their control effectiveness. Using the identified strategy-specific features as control vectors, SAE-Steering outperforms existing methods by over 15% in control effectiveness. Furthermore, controlling reasoning strategies can redirect LRMs from erroneous paths to correct ones, achieving a 7% absolute accuracy improvement.
