RECAP: Context-Aware Prediction Recycling with Request-Local and Persistent Memories for Multimodal Speculative Decoding

Hengjie Zhu, Dayan Wu, Xinze Liu, Peng Fu, Zheng Lin, Weiping Wang

Recycling a target model's own predictions offers a training-free source of proposals for speculative decoding. In vision-language models, however, existing recycling indexes predictions by the last token alone, conflating predictions computed under different images and prefixes; we find that such reuse fails most often at image-sensitive decoding states. Longer keys reduce this aliasing but match fewer states. We introduce \method, which stores target predictions under one-, two-, and three-token keys: contextual memories live only for the current request and are thus implicitly conditioned on its image, while token-level memory persists across requests to retain coverage. At each lookup, entropy-confidence weighting fuses the retrieved predictions according to their key specificity and concentration. Best-first search composes the fused transitions into a candidate tree, supplemented by suffix-matched continuations, and one target pass verifies the tree under greedy decoding. Without training or an auxiliary draft model, \method\ achieves mean speedups over autoregressive decoding of $1.66\speed$ and $1.56\speed$ across seven single-turn benchmarks on Qwen2.5-VL-7B and LLaVA-1.6-7B, exceeding the strongest training-free baseline, Token Recycling ($1.51\speed$ and $1.37\speed$). Our implementation is available in https://github.com/Senmo996/RECAP-official-code.

Mindscape-Aware Retrieval Augmented Generation for Improved Long Context Understanding

Yuqing Li, Jiangnan Li, Zheng Lin, Ziyan Zhou, Junjie Wu, Jie Zhou, Mo Yu

Humans understand long and complex texts by relying on a holistic semantic representation of the content. This global view helps organize prior knowledge, interpret new information, and integrate evidence dispersed across a document, as revealed by the Mindscape-Aware Capability of humans in psychology. Current Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems lack such guidance and therefore struggle with long-context tasks. In this paper, we propose Mindscape-Aware RAG (MiA-RAG), the first framework to formulate mindscape-aware retrieval and generation as a unified conditioning paradigm for LLM-based RAG. MiA-RAG builds a mindscape through hierarchical summarization and conditions both retrieval and generation on this global semantic representation. This enables the retriever to form enriched query embeddings and the generator to reason over retrieved evidence within a coherent global context. We evaluate MiA-RAG across diverse long-context and bilingual benchmarks for evidence-based understanding and global sense-making. It consistently surpasses baselines, and further analysis shows that it aligns local details with a coherent global representation, enabling more human-like long-context retrieval and reasoning.

Harvesting SWE Benchmarks from Wild Vibe Coding Sessions

Ao Lu, Yuanhao Zeng, Shaocheng Lan, Sijie Xu, Jiacheng Bao, Kuang Yan, Heng Lin, Kan Ren

Development teams need reproducible tasks from their own repositories and workflows to evaluate coding agents. Conversational developer-agent collaboration ("vibe coding") produces abundant coding sessions and repository checkpoints, but requirements evolve across turns, unrelated conversations co-occur with commits, and engineering efforts can span multiple sessions. We present SessionFarmer, an automated framework that turns these records into self-contained, executable software engineering tasks. It analyzes dialogue and commit history to filter unrelated sessions and group multi-turn, potentially multi-session interactions into work episodes centered on one engineering goal. For each episode, it reconstructs a hermetic execution container, synthesizes a task statement from the full context, and authors repository-grounded engineering-quality rubrics and unit tests. Closed-loop test refinement uses requirement-breaking mutants and a blind solver to reduce false rejections of valid alternatives and false acceptances of incomplete solutions. We construct CropChat, an open benchmark of 242 tasks across 61 public repositories and 14 programming languages, and CropEnterprise from proprietary enterprise logs. In a CropEnterprise audit, the original developers endorse the vast majority of reconstructed episode boundaries, task statements, and quality rubrics. Full-episode context covers substantially more user requirements than single-turn or single-session inputs. Test refinement cuts false-rejection rates and raises balanced accuracy against reference patch labels by 7-9 percentage points across solvers. Across 12 model-harness configurations on CropChat, the strongest setup achieves 39.3% Pass@1, while harness choice shifts Pass@1 by up to 8.4 percentage points for the same model.

CaC: Advancing Video Reward Models via Hierarchical Spatiotemporal Concentrating

Jiyuan Wang, Huan Ouyang, Jiuzhou Lin, Chunyu Lin, Dewen Fan, Boheng Zhang, Haonan Fan, Honglie Wang 等 13 位作者

In this paper, we propose Concentrate and Concentrate (CaC), a coarse-to-fine anomaly reward model based on Vision-Language Models. During inference, it first conducts a global temporal scan to anchor anomalous time windows, then performs fine-grained spatial grounding within the localized interval, and finally derives robust judgments via structured spatiotemporal Chain-of-Thought reasoning. To equip the model with these capabilities, we construct the first large-scale generated video anomaly dataset with per-frame bounding-box annotations, temporal anomaly windows, and fine-grained attribution labels. Building on this dataset, we design a three-stage progressive training paradigm. The model initially learns spatial and temporal anchoring through single- and multi-frame supervised fine-tuning, and then is optimized by a reinforcement learning strategy based on two-turn Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO). Beyond conventional accuracy rewards, we introduce Temporal and Spatial IoU rewards to supervise the intermediate localization process, effectively guiding the model toward more grounded and interpretable spatiotemporal reasoning. Extensive experiments demonstrate that CaC can stably concentrate on subtle anomalies, achieving a 25.7% accuracy improvement on fine-grained anomaly benchmarks and, when used as a reward signal, CaC reduces generated-video anomalies by 11.7% while improving overall video quality.

TKCAM: Text and Keyframe to Camera Trajectory Generation

Haozhe Yang, Zhiyang Dou, Zekai Gu, Cheng Lin, Wenping Wang, Yuan Liu, Taku Komura

Generating high-quality and controllable camera motion is essential for AI-assisted cinematography, video synthesis, and 3D scene understanding. We introduce TKCAM, a Text- and Keyframe-conditioned CAMera-motion synthesis framework based on generative masked modeling. We represent camera dynamics using a 12-dimensional kinematic feature comprising position, velocity, and a continuous rotation representation and discretize them into hierarchical motion tokens via a Residual Vector Quantizer (RVQ). A two-stage masked transformer architecture then learns to reconstruct and refine these tokens, utilizing explicit self- and cross-attention modules for multimodal conditioning. A central feature of our framework is sparse visual keyframe conditioning: users can provide free-form text prompts together with RGB observations at selected timestamps, which provide temporally localized visual guidance for generating coherent in-between trajectories. Furthermore, to advance evaluation standards, we curate RealEstate10K-Cap, a large-scale text-camera dataset, and establish a cross-domain benchmark with a Universal CLaTr Evaluator. Extensive experiments demonstrate that TKCAM surpasses recent state-of-the-art baselines on Fréchet distance (FID), text-motion matching scores, and retrieval metrics (R@K), while additional analyses evaluate temporal smoothness and cross-domain generalization. Code and RealEstate10K-Cap dataset are available at https://github.com/linearalgebrayhz/TKCAM.

Depth through Recurrence: Towards Ultra-Efficient On-Device ASR

Chen Feng, Tianyi Xu, Ramchalam Kinattinkara Ramakrishnan, Yicheng Lin, Shaojie Zhuo, Zhaocong Yuan, Chenzheng Su, Xiaopeng Zhang

Modern automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems have achieved remarkable accuracy by scaling model depth and capacity, but at the cost of increased memory, energy, and computational demands. On edge devices where ASR is often most needed, such as watches and glasses, deploying such large models is infeasible due to extremely constrained resources. This raises a fundamental question: can we achieve high representational power in deep ASR models without scaling up parameterization? In this work, we revisit the role of depth and identify layer wise representational dynamics, in which most layers learn functionally similar transformations. Motivated by this insight, we propose a block-recurrent ASR architecture that replaces parameterized depth with a small set of recurrent blocks, each consisting of weight-shared layers, thereby preserving effective depth while drastically reducing model size. Through representation-guided grouping and knowledge distillation, block-recurrent models retain the accuracy of large reference models while using an order of magnitude fewer parameters. Across Open ASR Leaderboard benchmarks, a model with only two shared blocks recovers 97.4% of the accuracy of large models on average. The compact backbone further enables efficient on-device personalization through lightweight MoE-LoRA adaptation, allowing user-specific models to match or surpass the accuracy of general-purpose ASR systems with significantly lower inference cost. By reusing weights across recurrent steps, the proposed architecture reduces memory-access overhead and inference energy consumption. Together, these results show that high quality ASR can be achieved without large parameterization, and that structured recurrence provides a principled path towards ultra-compressed, energy-efficient, and personalized speech recognition on the edge.

HC2Robot: Hyper-Connection Transformers with Predicted Foresight for Multi-Terrain Humanoid Parkour

Wenhao Xu, Yanheng Mai, Yifei Fu, Nan Zheng, Yanbo Zhou, Zirui Huang, Mingsheng Ling, Xinjue Wang 等 9 位作者

Humanoid parkour requires robots to reason about future footholds and whole-body motions over highly discontinuous terrain. We revisit the information asymmetry in asymmetric actor-critic learning for perceptive humanoid locomotion: the critic exploits privileged simulator signals during training, whereas the deployable actor operates solely from onboard perception. We argue that the key is not exposing privileged information to the actor, but learning a deployable approximation of it to narrow the information gap between training and deployment. We present HC2Robot, a deployable perceptive humanoid parkour framework consisting of a Predicted Foresight Module (PFM) and a Hyper-Connection (HC) Transformer. PFM predicts from deployable observations the policy-conditioned timing, location, and support quality of each foot's next touchdown event, converting privileged supervision into a deployable latent representation that provides the actor with predicted touchdown information without privileged runtime sensing. The HC Transformer further enhances temporal reasoning through learnable multi-stream routing, while a future motion prediction head provides short-horizon motion priors for regularization. Across stairs, gaps, high platforms, and slopes, HC2Robot achieves a mean simulated traversal success rate of 97.60% and consistently higher safe foothold rates than strong perceptive locomotion baselines, supporting improved traversal performance and geometric foothold support under deployable sensing.

Satellite Intelligence: Distributed Training, Collaborative Inference, and LLM Adaptation in LEO Constellation

Zheng Lin, Zhanwei Wang, Yuxin Zhang, Yafei Wang, Ons Aouedi, Zihan Fang, Jinfeng Xu, Jing Yang 等 12 位作者

The proliferation of orbital sensing data and the real-time demands of emerging global services are pushing low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks from bent-pipe relays toward intelligent onboard processing. This shift confronts a fundamental tension, where modern artificial intelligence (AI) training paradigms require intensive computation, abundant memory, and stable connectivity, all of which are scarce under the dynamic topologies, intermittent links, and severe size, weight, and power (SWaP) constraints of satellite networks. Addressing this tension demands rethinking AI workflows, from training and inference to the emerging deployment of large language models (LLMs), under a constraint-aware design philosophy. To the best of our knowledge, this paper provides the first survey that jointly covers all three, whereas prior surveys examine these aspects in isolation. We begin by identifying the deployment challenge of satellite intelligence (SI) and deriving design principles for SI. We then examine three advancing paradigms: i) distributed training, where federated learning (FL) and split learning (SL) enable satellite-ground co-training under resource limitations; ii) collaborative inference, which exploits single-satellite, multi-satellite, and satellite-ground architectures to meet real-time service demands; and iii) on-orbit LLM adaptation and serving, which tackles the frontier challenge of deploying LLMs under severe orbital constraints and resource-aware serving. Finally, we identify open challenges and future directions. By bridging the AI and satellite networks, this paper provides a research roadmap for the implementation of space-native AI technologies.

Parity-equivariant prediction of conformer-resolved electronic circular dichroism spectra accelerates absolute configuration assignment

Yi Jiang, Letian Chen, Runhan Shi, Lea Bae, Zheng Ling, Dong Ha Kim, Tong Zhu, Yang Yang

Electronic circular dichroism (ECD) is a key experimental probe for assigning the absolute configuration of chiral molecules, but interpreting measured spectra often requires costly time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) calculations. The few existing machine learning methods for ECD prediction are faster, but their accuracy still falls well short of that required for experimental applications. Here we introduce PhysECD, a parity-aware E(3)-equivariant framework that builds the spectrum from its underlying quantum-chemical quantities, ensuring correct chiroptical symmetry by construction. To improve generalization and support experimental applications, we construct SCECD, a conformer-resolved dataset of 578,104 computed spectra spanning diverse natural products with one to five stereocentres. PhysECD predicts ECD spectra from conformer geometries in milliseconds, achieving state-of-the-art accuracy on the CMCDS benchmark and SCECD. Validation against 77 experimental spectra further demonstrates that PhysECD can serve as a fast alternative to TDDFT for assigning the absolute configuration of complex chiral molecules.

A Broader Look into MLLM's Retrieval Heads

Jia Wang, Yuqing Li, Jiangnan Li, Zheng Lin, Mo Yu

Locating relevant evidence in long inputs is a core capability of Multimodal Large Language Models. Prior studies attribute this capability to retrieval heads, a sparse set of attention heads that transfer information from the context to the output. However, these analyses are confined to a limited set of modalities and the corresponding models. Moreover, how retrieval heads can be leveraged to enhance the model calls for further exploration. In this paper, we ask whether this mechanism expands together with the input modalities of the model. Taking audio-visual input as a newly added modality, we construct paired inputs in which the same answer is either spoken or shown on screen. With the evidence content fixed, retrieval heads remain sparse in the new modality and are shared to a large extent across modalities. Across 18 language, vision-language, and omni-modal checkpoints, omni-modal models largely preserve the retrieval heads of their backbones. Ablating these heads eliminates nearly all audio-visual retrieval. The heads shared across modalities make up fewer than 2\% of all heads, yet ablating them also degrades document understanding, spatial perception, and visual mathematics. Building on these findings, we turn retrieval heads into a target of optimization by training their attention with a ranking objective. This raises the page Recall@1 of Qwen3-VL-8B on MMDocIR by 6.03 points and improves document retrieval across three model families. Functional attention heads can thus serve both as a lens on multimodal models and as a target for improving them.

LLM-MC-Affect: LLM-Based Monte Carlo Modeling of Affective Trajectories and Latent Ambiguity for Interpersonal Dynamic Insight

Emotional coordination is a core property of human interaction that shapes how relational meaning is constructed in real time. While text-based affect inference has become increasingly feasible, prior approaches often treat sentiment as a deterministic point estimate for individual speakers, failing to capture the inherent subjectivity, latent ambiguity, and sequential coupling found in mutual exchanges. We introduce LLM-MC-Affect, a probabilistic framework that characterizes emotion not as a static label, but as a continuous latent probability distribution defined over an affective space. By leveraging stochastic LLM decoding and Monte Carlo estimation, the methodology approximates these distributions to derive high-fidelity sentiment trajectories that explicitly quantify both central affective tendencies and perceptual ambiguity. These trajectories enable a structured analysis of interpersonal coupling through sequential cross-correlation and slope-based indicators, identifying leading or lagging influences between interlocutors. To validate the interpretive capacity of this approach, we utilize teacher-student instructional dialogues as a representative case study, where our quantitative indicators successfully distill high-level interaction insights such as effective scaffolding. This work establishes a scalable and deployable pathway for understanding interpersonal dynamics, offering a generalizable solution that extends beyond education to broader social and behavioral research.

TLoRA: Task-aware Low Rank Adaptation of Large Language Models

Weicheng Lin Shenzhen University, Yi Zhang Shenzhen University, Jiawei Dang Shenzhen University, Liang-Jie Zhang Shenzhen University

Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA) has become a widely adopted parameter-efficient fine-tuning method for large language models, with its effectiveness largely influenced by the allocation of ranks and scaling factors, as well as initialization. Existing LoRA variants typically address only one of these factors, often at the cost of increased training complexity or reduced practical efficiency. In this work, we present Task-aware Low-Rank Adaptation (TLoRA), a unified framework that jointly optimizes initialization and resource allocation at the outset of training. TLoRA introduces a data-driven initialization strategy that aligns the LoRA A matrix with task-relevant subspaces by performing singular value decomposition on the product of pre-trained weights and input activation covariance. After this, the A matrix is frozen, and only the B matrix is trained. Furthermore, TLoRA employs a sensitivity-based importance metric to adaptively allocate ranks and scaling factors across layers under a fixed parameter budget. We conduct extensive experiments that demonstrate TLoRA consistently performs excellently across various tasks, including natural language understanding, commonsense reasoning, math reasoning, code generation, and chat generation, while significantly reducing the number of trainable parameters. Our code are available at https://github.com/Rambo-Yi/TLora/tree/main

CLARity: Reasoning Consistency Alone Can Teach Reinforced Experts

Jiuheng Lin, Cong Jiang, Zirui Wu Peking University, Jiarui Sun Peking University, Yansong Feng Peking University

Training expert LLMs in domains with scarce fine-grained annotated data is admittedly challenging, often relying on multiple-choice questions (MCQs). However, standard outcome-based reinforcement learning (RL) on MCQs is risky. While outcome-based RL may improve accuracy, it frequently compromises the reasoning process, yielding internally inconsistent rationales that diverge from the final predictions. Existing solutions to supervise the reasoning process, such as large-scale Process Reward Models (PRMs), are prohibitively expensive. To address this, we propose CLARity, a cost-effective RL framework that enhances reasoning quality using a small, general-purpose LLM only. CLARity integrates a consistency-aware reward mechanism with a 2-stage refine-then-monitor training pipeline to enhance reasoning consistency, and a dynamic data reformulation strategy to better exploit annotated data available. Experiments demonstrate that CLARity can improve the consistency of responses by 16.5% over standard outcome-based RL, and bring an improvement of 7.5% in final accuracy. Human evaluations further confirm substantial gains in factual correctness and reasoning coherence, leading to more trustworthy model outputs. Thus, CLARity offers a generalizable solution that enables smaller models to effectively guide expert LLM training by monitoring reasoning consistency.

VecInfer: Efficient LLM Inference with Low-Bit KV Cache via Outlier-Suppressed Vector Quantization

Dingyu Yao, Chenxu Yang, Zhengyang Tong Institute of Information Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zheng Lin, Wei Liu, Jian Luan Xiaomi Corporation, Weiping Wang IIE

The Key-Value (KV) cache introduces substantial memory overhead during large language model (LLM) inference. Although existing vector quantization (VQ) methods reduce KV cache usage and provide flexible representational capacity across bit-widths, they suffer severe performance degradation at ultra-low bit-widths due to key cache outliers that hinder effective codebook utilization. To address this challenge, we propose VecInfer, a novel VQ method for aggressive KV cache compression while enabling efficient inference. By applying smooth and Hadamard transformations, VecInfer suppresses outliers in the key cache, enabling the codebook to comprehensively cover the original data distribution and thereby reducing quantization difficulty. To facilitate efficient deployment, we design an optimized CUDA kernel that fuses computation with dequantization to minimize memory access overhead. Extensive evaluations demonstrate that VecInfer consistently outperforms existing quantization baselines across both long-context understanding and mathematical reasoning tasks. With only 2-bit quantization, VecInfer achieves performance comparable to full precision, while delivering up to \mathbf{2.7\times} speedup in large-batch self-attention computation and \mathbf{8.3\times} reduction in single-batch end-to-end latency on Llama-3.1-8B with a 196k sequence length.

LoPT: Lossless Parallel Tokenization Acceleration for Long Context Inference of Large Language Model

Wei Shao, Zheng Lingchao Huawei Technologies Ltd., Pengyu Wang, Peizhen Zheng Huawei Technologies Ltd., Li Jun, Yuwei Fan Huawei Technologies Ltd.

Long context inference scenarios have become increasingly important for large language models, yet they introduce significant computational latency. While prior research has optimized long-sequence inference through operators, model architectures, and system frameworks, tokenization remains an overlooked bottleneck. Existing parallel tokenization methods accelerate processing through text segmentation and multi-process tokenization, but they suffer from inconsistent results due to boundary artifacts that occur after merging. To address this, we propose LoPT, a novel Lossless Parallel Tokenization framework that ensures output identical to standard sequential tokenization. Our approach employs character-position-based matching and dynamic chunk length adjustment to align and merge tokenized segments accurately. Extensive experiments across diverse long-text datasets demonstrate that LoPT achieves significant speedup while guaranteeing lossless tokenization. We also provide theoretical proof of consistency and comprehensive analytical studies to validate the robustness of our method.

Efficient Low-Resource Language Adaptation via Multi-Source Dynamic Logit Fusion

Chen Zhang Peking University, Jiuheng Lin, Zhiyuan Liao Peking University, Yansong Feng Peking University

Adapting large language models (LLMs) to low-resource languages (LRLs) is constrained by the scarcity of task data and computational resources. Although Proxy Tuning offers a logit-level strategy for introducing scaling effects, it often fails in LRL settings because the large model’s weak LRL competence might overwhelm the knowledge of specialized smaller models. We thus propose TriMix, a test-time logit fusion framework that dynamically balances capabilities from three different sources: LRL competence from a continually pretrained small model, task competence from high-resource language instruction tuning, and the scaling benefits of large models. It is data- and compute-efficient, requiring no LRL task annotations, and only continual pretraining on a small model. Experiments across four model families and eight LRLs show that TriMix consistently outperforms single-model baselines and Proxy Tuning. Our analysis reveals that prioritizing the small LRL-specialized model’s logits is crucial for success, challenging the prevalent large-model-dominant assumption.

MegaRAG: Multimodal Knowledge Graph-Based Retrieval Augmented Generation

Chi-Hsiang Hsiao National Taiwan University, Yi-Cheng Wang National Taiwan University, Tzung-Sheng Lin National Taiwan University, Yi-Ren Yeh, Chu-song Chen National Taiwan University

Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) enables large language models (LLMs) to dynamically access external information, which is powerful for answering questions over previously unseen documents. Nonetheless, they struggle with high-level conceptual understanding and holistic comprehension due to limited context windows, which constrain their ability to perform deep reasoning over long-form, domain-specific content such as full-length books. To solve this problem, knowledge graphs (KGs) have been leveraged to provide entity-centric structure and hierarchical summaries, offering more structured support for reasoning. However, existing KG-based RAG solutions remain restricted to text-only inputs and fail to leverage the complementary insights provided by other modalities such as vision. On the other hand, reasoning from visual documents requires textual, visual, and spatial cues into structured, hierarchical concepts. To address this issue, we introduce a multimodal knowledge graph-based RAG that enables cross-modal reasoning for better content understanding. Our method incorporates visual cues into the construction of knowledge graphs, the retrieval phase, and the answer generation process. Experimental results across both global and fine-grained question answering tasks show that our approach consistently outperforms existing approaches on both textual and multimodal benchmarks.

VALU: A Benchmark for Video Anomaly Temporal Localization and Understanding at Multiple Semantic Levels

Yixiao He Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Menghao Zhang Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Haifeng Sun, Jing Wang, Kangheng Lin, Jinghan Wang Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Chenye Xu, Pengfei Ren Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications 等 10 位作者

Video anomaly understanding (VAU) is critical for real-world scenarios. Recent advances in Video Large Language Models (Video-LLMs) enhance the ability of VAU models to describe and interpret anomalies. However, progress in anomaly localization is still limited by two key issues. First, most existing video anomaly datasets only annotate segments that are clearly inconsistent with the context, often omitting subsequent segments that are semantically part of the same abnormal event. Second, the field lacks systematic evaluation protocols. To bridge these gaps, we introduce VALU, a new benchmark that explicitly defines anomalies across five semantic levels and provides comprehensive temporal boundaries and detailed textual descriptions for each. Based on these annotations, we design three evaluation tasks that comprehensively assess models’ capabilities across different dimensions, including temporal grounding, anomaly localization, and anomaly detail discrimination. Evaluation results reveal persistent challenges in current models’ capabilities on VAU. We further analyze and discuss these findings, and hope that both VALU and insights will advance research in VAU and the development of Video-LLMs. Our benchmark will be publicly available.

Avinash Amballa Samsung, Yashas Malur Saidutta Samsung, Chi-Heng Lin Meta, Vivek Kulkarni Samsung, Srinivas Chappidi Samsung

Large language models (LLMs) are increasingly being used to generate synthetic datasets for the evaluation and training of downstream models. However, prior work has noted that such generated data lacks diversity. In this paper, we propose VOYAGER, a novel principled approach to generate diverse datasets. Our approach is iterative and directly optimizes a mathematical quantity that optimizes the diversity of the dataset using the machinery of determinantal point processes. Furthermore, our approach is training-free, applicable to closed-source models, and scalable. In addition to providing theoretical justification for the working of our method, we also demonstrate through comprehensive experiments that VOYAGER improves diversity by \mathbf{1.5}-\mathbf{3} times compared to popular baseline approaches.

In this report, we introduce the Gemini 1.5 family of models, representing the next generation of highly compute-efficient multimodal models capable of recalling and reasoning over fine-grained information from millions of tokens of context, including multiple long documents and hours of video and audio. The family includes two new models: (1) an updated Gemini 1.5 Pro, which exceeds the February version on the great majority of capabilities and benchmarks; (2) Gemini 1.5 Flash, a more lightweight variant designed for efficiency with minimal regression in quality. Gemini 1.5 models achieve near-perfect recall on long-context retrieval tasks across modalities, improve the state-of-the-art in long-document QA, long-video QA and long-context ASR, and match or surpass Gemini 1.0 Ultra's state-of-the-art performance across a broad set of benchmarks. Studying the limits of Gemini 1.5's long-context ability, we find continued improvement in next-token prediction and near-perfect retrieval (>99%) up to at least 10M tokens, a generational leap over existing models such as Claude 3.0 (200k) and GPT-4 Turbo (128k). Finally, we highlight real-world use cases, such as Gemini 1.5 collaborating with professionals on completing their tasks achieving 26 to 75% time savings across 10 different job categories, as well as surprising new capabilities of large language models at the frontier; when given a grammar manual for Kalamang, a language with fewer than 200 speakers worldwide, the model learns to translate English to Kalamang at a similar level to a person who learned from the same content.
