Sampling-based reachability estimates reachable sets from finitely many simulated trajectory endpoints. Existing guarantees often control missed probability mass or approximation error relative to the convex hull of the reachable set, leaving the geometric error relative to the reachable set incompletely characterized. We study this error as a problem of support estimation under flow distortion. Our assumptions combine a uniform lower bound on the local volume density of the initial set, a lower bound on the sampling density, and a one-sided Lipschitz constant $μ$ for the vector field. These conditions admit initial sets with corners and dynamics that may expand or contract. In the fine-accuracy regime, $\tilde{\mathcal O}\bigl(2^ne^{nμT}(R/r)^n/(ρκ)\bigr)$ independent endpoint samples suffice for Hausdorff accuracy $r$ using the endpoint cloud. Here, $n$ is the state dimension, $T$ is the horizon, $R$ is the volume-equivalent radius, and $ρ$ and $κ$ quantify sampling density and local volume density. For $n\ge2$ and sufficiently small $κ$, a minimax lower bound over all estimators based only on independent endpoints matches these dependencies up to a dimension-dependent factor $2\cdot4^n$ and logarithmic factors, within the stated parameter range and when the state domain accommodates the construction. The exponential burden in dimension, and in the horizon for expanding systems, is therefore intrinsic to this observation model. Planar experiments illustrate the predicted effects of corners and contraction; robot-arm experiments show how empirical accuracy deteriorates with dimension.

AI 速览:RFW-A 将智能体程序合成与程序化生成结合,先由智能体构建并验证类别级可复用生成器,再以程序化执行低成本批量产出铰接资产,并构建了 RFW-A-400K 数据集。

High-quality articulated assets are essential for embodied perception, simulation, and manipulation, yet constructing them at scale remains difficult. Manual annotation and procedural modeling require substantial human effort. Recent agentic systems automate asset construction through program synthesis, but repeat costly reasoning and refinement for every new asset. Our key observation is that assets within a category can share construction logic despite variations in structure and appearance. Agentic synthesis and procedural generation are therefore complementary: agents can construct reusable programs, while procedural execution reuses the resulting logic across many samples. We therefore present RFW-A, which combines the two in a new articulated-asset generation paradigm. Starting from existing articulated programs, RFW-A organizes reusable components and their dependencies into category-level generators. Agents test and refine these generators across sampled configurations and motion states. Once constructed and validated, the generators produce diverse assets through procedural execution with no further model calls or token charges. The estimated API cost of generator authoring averages $10.62, amortizing to $0.05 per asset over 200 assets, versus $1.24 for the sampled per-asset agentic synthesis baseline. Using RFW-A, we built RFW-A-400K, containing over 400K sim-ready articulated assets across more than 500 categories. Experiments show high structural and kinematic validity and stable execution across physics simulators. Beyond asset validity, training with RFW-A-400K improves part-level articulation estimation on seen and unseen categories, while policies trained in simulation with retrieved and program-edited assets transfer zero-shot to real articulated objects.

Self-Referential $K$-SAT and the Finite Analogue of Gödel's Incompleteness Theorem

Wen Fang, Xianxian Li, Jun Liu, Jie Luo, Yongxin Tong, Ke Xu

We study self-reference and solution independence in Boolean $K$-SAT as a finite analogue of Gödel incompleteness. Independence is defined through factorial moments of the solution count. Constant-width random formulas fail this criterion due to correlations among overlapping assignments. At a covering threshold, logarithmic-width random CNFs have a Poisson solution count, with positive probabilities of unsatisfiability and unique satisfiability. Replacing a redundant clause by one falsified by the unique solution yields an unsatisfiable companion preserving the unsigned incidence graph. For every permitted local view of a good uniquely satisfiable formula, an unsatisfiable companion preserves that view. Irreducibility defeats deterministic and bounded-error evaluators using $N^c$ clause queries, for fixed $0<c<1$. It establishes a local information obstruction, not an unrestricted time lower bound. For fixed $δ>0$, transcripts of $N^{1-δ}$ queries leave $N-o(N)$ bits of witness entropy. On typical support graphs, expansion yields linear Resolution width, linear PC/PCR and SOS degree, and exponential proof size. Bounds hold for semantic Cutting Planes under a partition condition and for Positivstellensatz with bounded product width, uniformly over unsatisfiable support-preserving signings. Structural evidence and the limits of acceleration strategies motivate the self-referential $K$-SAT exhaustive-search hypothesis (SRK-ESH): no uniform deterministic algorithm deciding the promise family achieves a fixed proportional saving in the exponent. This dual-evidence criterion combines intrinsic hardness mechanisms with algorithmic evidence. We interpret this hypothesis as a quantitative projection of the Gödel-style local--global gap. The information obstruction constrains quantum local observation and statistical learning from bounded local information.

Sandman: Building and Operating Sandboxes for Agentic Reinforcement Learning on Shared Kubernetes

Yiming Yan, Hongyang Wang, Wenbo Chen, Xuan Wang, Jingguo Liu, Xian Li, Chen Qi, Leo Fan 等 15 位作者

Agentic reinforcement learning (RL) often requires repeated tool calls in task-specific environments. A training job may create thousands of these environments in bursts while sharing a cluster with other jobs. We present Sandman, a sandbox service built and operated at Amazon for agent tool execution and evaluation. It serves multiple production agentic RL workloads on shared Kubernetes. A training framework supplies a task image and uses commands and file operations in the returned sandbox. Files and processes persist across calls until the framework releases the environment. Sandman manages creation, readiness and cleanup. Each sandbox is a Kubernetes pod with a small daemon mounted into the unmodified image. In a scale test, Sandman held 11,858 concurrent tiny sandboxes. Four production SWE-bench Verified training campaigns created 3.1 million sandboxes in October 2026. We report the design trade-offs and operational lessons from handling creation bursts, preparing task environments, reclaiming abandoned sandboxes, and running evaluation under controlled conditions. We will open-source Sandman's daemon, provider and pool.

Inverse Design of Metainterfaces towards Static Friction Control: Beyond the Hertzian Limit

Jacopo Bilotto, Arnav Singhal, Joaquin Garcia-Suarez, Gaëtan Cortes, Lucas Fourel, Jean-François Molinari

Programming the static friction of mechanical interfaces is critical for soft robotics, haptics, and precision gripping. Static friction is governed by the real contact area, and standard rough surfaces exhibit a linear area-load scaling inherent to classical models, severely restricting their functional range. Here, we propose a framework for the inverse design of tribological metainterfaces engineered for programmable contact behaviors. By utilizing general axisymmetric asperities, we unlock nonlinear macroscopic responses unattainable by standard Hertzian contacts. To solve the inverse problem, we embed a fully differentiable contact mechanics engine within a neural network and a quadratic optimizer. We leverage regularized physical gradients to automatically discover non-standard topographies that reproduce complex target contact laws, with only a few asperities in unit cells. The predicted designs are validated against high-fidelity Boundary Element Method (BEM) simulations. By front-loading computational costs during training, the neural surrogate yields near-instantaneous design inference, bypassing the bottlenecks of traditional multi-start optimization. This framework bridges data-driven optimization and rigorous physics, offering a scale-invariant pathway for the high-throughput discovery and real-time control of functional tribological surfaces.

CodeArena: A Collective Evaluation Platform for LLM Code Generation

Mingzhe Du, Anh Tuan Luu, Bin Ji, Xiaobao Wu, Dong Huang, Terry Yue Zhuo, Qian Liu, See-Kiong Ng

Large Language Models (LLMs) have reshaped code generation by synergizing their exceptional comprehension of natural language and programming syntax, thereby substantially boosting developer productivity. These advancements have prompted numerous efforts to quantitatively evaluate their coding capabilities. However, persistent challenges, such as benchmark leakage, data dissipation, and limited system accessibility, continue to impede a timely and accurate assessment. To address these limitations, we introduce CodeArena, an online evaluation framework tailored for LLM code generation. The key innovation is a collective evaluation mechanism, which dynamically recalibrates individual model scores based on the holistic performance of all participating models, mitigating score biases caused by widespread benchmark leakage. In addition, CodeArena ensures open access to all submitted solutions and test cases and provides automation-friendly APIs to streamline the code evaluation workflow. Our main contributions are: (1) a collective evaluation system for unbiased assessment, (2) a public repository of solutions and test cases, and (3) automation-ready APIs for seamless integration.

UMI-Live for In-The-Wild Bimanual Robotics Data Collection

Govind Velamoor, Adrian Lin, Sam Jung, Spencer Mateega, Brandon Y. Yang, Amish Sethi

Universal Manipulation Interface (UMI) devices allow human experts to demonstrate tasks for robot learning without teleoperating physical robots. Using these demonstrations as training data still requires a consistent hardware setup, calibration, and data processing. We present UMI-Live, a full-stack open-source bimanual UMI system for in-the-wild data collection. We design our custom UMI-Live hardware to integrate camera and LiDAR--inertial sensing, onboard compute, and power, without external tracking equipment or calibration within the collection environment. We implement a simple user interface for recording data while an asynchronous pipeline performs parallel SLAM reconstruction and publishes training-ready datasets. We also release software that supports dual-YAM teleoperation and VLA policy training and inference. We validate UMI-Live data quality by fine-tuning $π_{0.5}$ and MolmoAct2, achieving success rates of 10/10 and 8/10, respectively on a bimanual pick-and-place task. Furthermore, we release 40 hours of UMI-Live data across three tasks, and complete hardware designs, software, and reproduction guides at our $\href{https://umi-live.github.io/}{\text{project website}}$.

Youtu-Parsing-Omni: One Encoder, One Schema, All Modalities

Yunhang Shen, Zhangquan Chen, Xiaotian Li, Zhongpeng Cai, Qing Zhou, Zekai Zhang, Kun Zhang, Zezhong Wu 等 30 位作者

We present Youtu-Parsing-Omni, an omni-modal parser that converts documents, images, audio, and video into structured records grounded in space and time, providing a perception layer for agents that read, locate, and cite evidence across modalities. Its design rests on one encoder for every modality and one schema for every task. Youtu-Omni-Encoder, initialized from a pre-trained language model to strengthen text reading, encodes all modalities with shared weights in a unified space-time coordinate system, and a few fusion layers let video frames attend to concurrent audio, bringing cross-modal fusion and temporal alignment into perception itself. OmniSchema unifies the outputs of all ten parsing tasks, allowing a single self-evolving post-training procedure, OmniSchema-Aware On-Policy Distillation (OSAD), to provide a shared token-role-based objective across tasks. In each round, the model is trained on its own rollouts against token-level targets from a reference-conditioned copy of itself, which is then refreshed with the trained weights, so that the parser and its supervision co-evolve. With a single 5 B-parameter checkpoint, Youtu-Parsing-Omni achieves state-of-the-art performance on OmniDocBench v1.6 (96.96 Overall) and leads all open-weight models on OmniParsingBench (75.08 Avg.), with its advantage concentrated on audio and video. It also achieves the best overall chart-parsing score (95.02) and the highest exact chemical-fingerprint agreement among compared systems, and matches a dedicated optical-music model in character-level transcription of typeset sheet music while staying far ahead of general-purpose systems. Code and model weights are publicly available.

WorldFlow: Joint Video and 3D Motion Prediction via Large-Scale Pretraining

Yuhao Lu, Jiongxu Chen, Hexiang Wei, Jiajin Wu, Juelin Li, Mingjian Liang, Fan Yang, Zhuowei Liang 等 12 位作者

Predicting future physical states stands as a central challenge in embodied intelligence. Existing video world models leave 3D dynamics implicit, action-based formulations remain tied to specific robot configurations, and 3D motion prediction models use flow-only supervision, providing a limited learning signal for physical dynamics. To circumvent these limitations, we introduce \method{}, a generative world model that jointly predicts future video and query-based 3D trajectories. By parameterizing 3D motion as continuous displacement tokens aligned with the video grid, a unified Mixture-of-Transformers (MoT) backbone jointly denoises both modalities under a rectified-flow objective. This formulation couples explicit geometric dynamics with visual evolution, effectively unlocking the physical commonsense embedded within pretrained video models. To empirically scale and validate this unified architecture, we train \method{} on a heterogeneous mixture of 1.44 million object-level samples spanning simulated and real-world domains. We further introduce WorldFlowBench, comprising 1,678 evaluation samples from 11 data sources across simulated and real-world interactions, including spatial reasoning tasks. Across all three evaluation sets, WorldFlow achieves the lowest average displacement error (ADE) and final displacement error (FDE) among the evaluated learning-based methods. Notably, on the challenging SpatialCog set, WorldFlow achieves an ADE of 0.060 m, a 54.2\% reduction compared with the strongest external baseline. It also reduces ADE and FDE by 55.9\% and 68.5\%, respectively, compared with its flow-only variant. Project page: https://worldflow-rbs.github.io/.

MeshSuite: A Unified Benchmark for Triangle- and Mesh-Based Neural Rendering

Kaixuan Zhang, Minxian Li, Mingwu Ren, Xiatian Zhu

Triangle- and mesh-based neural rendering seeks to bridge neural representations and graphics engines through triangle primitives compatible with standard rasterization. Yet existing methods were developed and evaluated under inconsistent settings, with few direct comparisons and little evaluation in graphics engines. We introduce MeshSuite, the first benchmark for systematic evaluation of engine deployment and Non-Engine Render in triangle- and mesh-based neural rendering. MeshSuite evaluates two deployment settings: Standard Deployment, using an opaque mesh pipeline with vertex colors and hardware Z-buffering; and Dedicated Deployment, using method-specific engine implementations to preserve appearance and compositing features. For mesh splatting, we also audit exported surfaces for topological and geometric integrity as downstream graphics assets. Our results show that engine deployment reduces image quality in both settings; among evaluated methods, MeshSplatting degrades least under Standard Deployment. Dedicated Deployment preserves most fidelity at roughly 5-33x the runtime of Standard Deployment across two deployment datasets. For mesh splatting, explicit connectivity and shared indexing remain limited: shared vertex indexing alone guarantees neither manifoldness nor global connectivity. These findings show that rasterizability is only part of graphics readiness and underscore the need to assess engine deployment. Project page: https://x-up-lab.github.io/research/meshsuite.

Aligning Autoresearch: Co-Improvement between Agents and Humans

Tianjian Li, Chuanyang Jin, Seungone Kim, Tong Chen, John Hoffman, Yoram Bachrach amd Pedro Rodriguez, Ping Yu, Eryk Helenowski 等 13 位作者

Autoresearch agents can now attempt long-horizon AI research end-to-end, i.e., self-improvement. However, best results are still obtained by research agents interacting with human researchers, and improving AI's ability to perform this co-research will only reinforce this effect---a process termed co-improvement (Weston and Foerster, 2025). Further, aligning with human expectations is likely a safer path for research agents, especially given recent agent reward hacking phenomena (OpenAI, 2026b). In this work we address these issues in four ways: (i) we empirically study the role of humans in directing autoresearch agents, focusing on the domain of benchmark creation, and find humans still play a pivotal role particularly in the ideation phase; (ii) we also develop a benchmark, HackBench, that shows current autoresearch agents are not aligned and are unable to achieve hack localization sufficiently; (iii) we present a method to train agents for improved human interaction by using human simulators as a proxy during reinforcement learning (RL); and finally (iv) we develop a method to improve model text generation, and hence agent communication, by RL with rubrics aligned with human experts. Together, our training and evaluation recipes provide a path toward more capable and aligned (co-)research agents.

Asynchronous Heavy-Tailed Optimization

Junfei Sun, Dixi Yao, Xuchen Gong, Tahseen Rabbani, Manzil Zaheer, Tian Li

Heavy-tailed stochastic gradient noise, commonly observed in transformer models, can destabilize the optimization process. Recent works mainly focus on developing and understanding approaches to address heavy-tailed noise in the centralized or distributed, synchronous setting, while asynchronous optimization under such noise remains underexplored, especially in the practical settings with local updates. In this work, we first investigate two asynchronous communication schemes (server- and client-centric) that handle stragglers under heavy-tailed gradient noise. We further propose and theoretically analyze algorithmic modifications based on delay-aware learning rate scheduling and delay compensation to enhance the performance of asynchronous algorithms. Our convergence guarantees achieve the optimal rate under heavy-tailed noise and improve delay tolerance compared with existing asynchronous approaches. Empirically, our approaches outperform prior synchronous and asynchronous methods in terms of accuracy/runtime trade-offs and are more robust to hyperparameters in both image and language tasks.

RoSAMDepth: Robust Self-supervised Depth Estimation Leveraging Segment Anything Model

Xuanang Gao, Zhiwei Ning, Gengming Zhang, Jiaxi Cao, Runze Yang, Zhonglong Zheng, Jie Yang, Rong Xiao 等 9 位作者

Robust depth estimation aims to maintain high-quality depths across diverse conditions. However, most existing methods estimate depth without taking into account the object-level information. As a result, the predicted depth may easily deviate within objects and become blurred under adverse conditions. To overcome this weakness, we propose RoSAMDepth, a novel framework that can assist robust self-supervised depth estimation in leveraging rich and diverse object-level priors from the Segment Anything Model (SAM). We focus on incorporating object-level information across three key aspects: a segment-guided representation contrasting method that injects object-level awareness into the feature representation space; an adaptive regional outlier masking strategy combined with a regional Gaussian likelihood loss that enforces regional depth smoothness; and an object-level reliability estimation strategy that mitigates the influence of unreliable supervision. Extensive experiments across multiple datasets and diverse weather conditions demonstrate that our method produces sharper, more accurate depth predictions, consistently outperforming state-of-the-art methods. Our code is available at https://github.com/xagao/RoSAMDepth.

FeatLens: Feature-Guided Dependency Retrieval for Repository-Level Code Generation

Xutian Li, Bo Xiong, Yifeng Zhu, Runbang Yan, Yanzhen Zou, Lu Zhang, Bing Xie

Retrieving task-relevant code dependencies is critical for repository-level code generation. Existing approaches obtain dependency context through similarity-based retrieval, repository graphs, or LLM-driven exploration. A central challenge is to identify the dispersed dependencies needed to implement a functional requirement, rather than merely retrieve broadly related code. This paper presents FeatLens, a feature-guided dependency retrieval approach for repository-level code generation. FeatLens first builds an offline index linking natural-language feature descriptions to function-level code entities. Given a task requirement and target function location, it selects relevant features and constructs dependency seeds. It then expands the seed graph and applies semantic and structural heuristics to select dependencies for inclusion in the generation context. Experiments on DevEval and EvoCodeBench show that FeatLens achieves the highest dependency recall among the evaluated baselines at each fixed retrieval budget, reaching DR@15 values of 0.527 and 0.529, respectively. On DevEval, the retrieved context supports the highest non-oracle Pass@1 with both DeepSeek-V3.2 and GPT-5-mini. These results are obtained without LLM calls in the online dependency retrieval stage.

Masked Erosion: How Acceptance Gates Lose Redundant Safeguards in Self-Improving Agents

Hau-Sing So, Daixian Liu, Weicai Long

Self-improving LLM agents edit their own harness, the prompts and rules around a fixed model, and keep an edit only if an acceptance gate scores it higher on a batch of tasks. Such a gate sees what the harness does under the current model, not what it would still prevent if one safeguard failed. When safeguards overlap, deleting one is masked: the others still block the harm, so the gate decides on task success alone and redundancy erodes unseen. We measure harm for every subset of four written safeguards in two agent environments and run 411 improvement loops under ten gate rules, mostly as controlled deletion experiments, plus three runs of the GEPA optimizer. A deletion behind another working safeguard adds almost no observable harm. A paired significance test blocks deletions that pass by chance but not deletions that genuinely raise task success, and a larger evaluation batch lets it delete cheaper safeguards: at the same cost, 20-task batches kept every harness protected while 40-task batches lost all six. Large harm audits prevent exposure but not the loss of depth, which turns into harm when the harness is reused with a weaker model. GEPA kept every safety rule verbatim, yet two of its three final harnesses misused credentials under a weaker model. A statistical model frozen before the runs predicts where each gate's protection breaks as safeguard cost and batch size change, and freezing safety text or auditing one-layer ablations preserves depth.

MEV: A Multi-Event Video Dataset for Long-Take Generation

Peiyuan Zhu, Shaoan Xie, Yifan Shen, Wen Tian, Zijian Li, Guangyi Chen, Kun Zhang

Current datasets for text-to-video generation are largely limited to short clips depicting a single event or coarse-grained captions. As a result, they provide limited supervision for modeling long-take temporal dependencies, often leading to temporally inconsistent generations when describing multiple events. In this paper, we introduce MEV, a multi-event video dataset designed for long-take video generation. MEV provides high-quality real-world videos where subjects can perform a sequence of distinct, non-overlapping events, featuring precise temporal boundaries and fine-grained procedural annotations. This event-centric discretization reduces confounding factors and enables models to support temporally localized conditioning and build long-take videos from atomic event units. Furthermore, we introduce a comprehensive annotation pipeline that segments videos into temporally grounded events, and generates structured captions at both the global level and the event level. In addition, under an event-centric evaluation protocol, we conduct multi-event generation experiments by fine-tuning on MEV with temporally grounded event conditioning, leading to improved long-take event transitions and more coherent content. We believe this work provides a publicly available resource for multi-event fine-tuning and event-centric evaluation, together with practical insights into learning from temporally structured video-text data.

TransitNet: A Compact Attention-Augmented Deep Learning Framework for Low-SNR Transit Blind Searches

Xingchen Yan, Jian Ge, Qingtian Liu, Kevin Willis, Quanquan Hu, Jiapeng Zhu

Motivated by the observational incompleteness of intermediate-to-long-period Earth-size planets, we present TransitNet, a compact attention-augmented deep-learning framework for low-SNR transit blind searches. To enable realistic method development and objective threshold calibration under blind-search conditions, we develop a unified dataset construction, benchmarking, and threshold-selection framework. On recovery benchmarks constructed from unseen Kepler targets, TransitNet attains 95.2 percent accuracy in the challenging SNR range of 6 to 8 and outperforms both TLS and BLS, achieving ROC-AUC and PR-AP values of 0.974 and 0.982, respectively. In an injected Earth-size and sub-Earth-size transit recovery experiment, TransitNet achieves a recovery rate of 93.0 percent, substantially exceeding those of TLS (63.1 percent) and BLS (60.0 percent). In addition to detection, TransitNet provides attention-based estimates of transit windows and midpoints. On an independent evaluation set, 97.4 percent of injected transits are fully covered by the estimated transit window. Applied to real Kepler observations, the model successfully recovers all 34 selected confirmed Kepler planets, with a mean absolute transit midpoint error of 1.24 hours. The model combines a compact footprint of about 1.5 MB with high inference efficiency, yielding speed-ups of about 12 to 25 times relative to CPU-TLS and about 4 to 5 times relative to CPU-BLS. These results demonstrate that TransitNet provides an accurate, scalable, and computationally efficient framework for low-SNR transit blind searches in the tested regime and motivate its extension to longer-period Earth-size planet searches.

Venus-DefakerOne2: A Vision-Forensics Foundation Model with Broader Coverage

Real-world forgery is inherently heterogeneous: it manifests not only as digital manipulation but also as physical spoofing, and is carried not only by images but also by videos. Despite substantial progress, a unified anti-forgery foundation model covering such a broad threat spectrum remains absent. In this paper, we present Venus-DefakerOne2, which substantially extends the forensic capability boundary along both the forgery-form and media-type dimensions. Trained on tens of millions of open-source and in-house samples, it incorporates two key designs. Tide-Style-Tuning alternates LoRA and full-parameter fine-tuning to balance computational efficiency, generalization, and hard-sample fitting while mitigating catastrophic forgetting. Entropy-based Test Adaptation determines the optimal prediction modality by analyzing prediction entropy. Venus-DefakerOne2 achieves new state-of-the-art performance across a comprehensive suite of benchmarks, including DeepFake faces (96.7%), AI-generated images (93.3%), tampered documents (87.6%), manipulated natural images (89.6%), physical spoofs (93.1%), and AI-generated videos (96.0%). It significantly outperforms both specialized expert models and its predecessor, DefakerOne, establishing itself as a powerful and versatile foundation model for binary-decision forensic tasks.

ShredBench: Evaluating the Semantic Reasoning Capabilities of Multimodal LLMs in Document Reconstruction

Zichun Guo, Yuling Shi, Wenhao Zeng, Chao Hu, Haotian Lin, Terry Yue Zhuo, Jiawei Chen, Xiaodong Gu 等 9 位作者

Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) have achieved remarkable performance in Visually Rich Document Understanding (VRDU) tasks, but their capabilities are mainly evaluated on pristine, well-structured document images. We consider content restoration from shredded fragments, a challenging VRDU setting that requires integrating visual pattern recognition with semantic reasoning under significant content discontinuities. To facilitate systematic evaluation of complex VRDU tasks, we introduce ShredBench, a benchmark supported by an automated generation pipeline that renders fragmented documents directly from Markdown. The proposed pipeline ensures evaluation validity by allowing the flexible integration of latest or unseen textual sources to prevent training data contamination. ShredBench assesses four scenarios (English, Chinese, Code, Table) with three fragmentation granularities (8, 12, 16 pieces). Empirical evaluations on state-of-the-art MLLMs reveal a significant performance gap: The method is effective on intact documents; however, once the document is shredded, restoration becomes a significant challenge, with NED dropping sharply as fragmentation increases. Our findings highlight that current MLLMs lack the fine-grained cross-modal reasoning required to bridge visual discontinuities, identifying a critical gap in robust VRDU research.

From Interaction to Capability: Task Advancement as State and Supervision for GUI Agents

Ziyang Chen, Qian Li, Chengwei Qin

GUI memory should preserve the results of past actions and learn reusable operations. This is difficult in long-horizon workflows, where agents must use information across applications and useful operations are interleaved with failed attempts. We introduce Task Advancement Memory (TAM), which defines task advancement as verified task progress, and supports ongoing task execution and learns reusable operations. During execution, Task Advancement State represents how verified task progress changes the remaining goals, allowing the agent to build on earlier achievements across applications. After each task, advancement supervision identifies and abstracts the interactions that produced a verified local result. The learned operations preserve the relation between required inputs, expected outcomes, and verification conditions. This retains locally successful operations from both successful and failed tasks. On MobileWorld GUI-only tasks, Advancement State alone raises success from 12.0% to 28.2%. Full TAM achieves a 17.6% relative gain in task success over the strongest evaluated baseline and reduces lifecycle tokens per solved task by 38.7%. On SPA-Bench, TAM achieves state-of-the-art task success in the single-app English Level 3 setting.

Vision-Language Models (VLMs) have demonstrated remarkable multimodal capabilities but suffer from prohibitive computational overhead due to the massive number of visual tokens. While token pruning is a promising solution, existing methods still suffer from two major drawbacks: 1) unreliable pruning criteria that fail to accurately localize task-specific regions due to inherent attention biases or query-agnostic designs, and 2) suboptimal pruning strategies that employ rigid, non-adaptive schedules, overlooking the dynamic evolution of token redundancy across different model depths. To address these challenges, we propose LearnPrunerV2, which extends the previous two-stage heuristic framework (LearnPruner) into a fully learnable architecture. Specifically, we integrate lightweight learnable modules into every layer of the VLM backbone, which estimate token importance by fusing intrinsic visual saliency with extrinsic query relevance captured via a shadow token. By uncovering a consistent staircase redundancy pattern across VLM layers, we further introduce Budget-Deterministic Pruning (BDP) to establish a hardware-friendly schedule with fixed per-layer budgets. Extensive experimental results across various benchmarks and VLMs demonstrate that LearnPrunerV2 consistently outperform previous state-of-the-art methods. Notably, LearnPrunerV2 preserves 99.8% of the original performance when pruning 77.8% of visual tokens on LLaVA-v1.5, achieving a superior accuracy-efficiency trade-off.

Words or Deeds? How LLMs Predict Users' Decisions in Human-Agent Dialogue

Baiqiao Zhang, Shuai Ma, Zhifeng Liao, Chao Zhou, Jianshu Wang, Yuhan Zhao, Chaoyue Zhang, Tongjun Si 等 12 位作者

Web systems increasingly predict users' decisions from what users say, yet when interests partly conflict, users may promise to cooperate to win the other side's cooperation and then not do so. Sales or service agents that rely on such promises may grant concessions to users who then do not keep their promises, at a cost to the party they represent. We test how LLMs combine users' statements with decision records to predict users' decisions, using 1,260 rounds in which 42 users played a repeated prisoner's dilemma-style game with five agents, each prompted to express a dominant Big Five trait, and could talk with the agent before every decision. Across eight open-weight LLMs, predictions from decision records separated cooperation from defection well (AUC = .80), and adding dialogue brought no detectable gain. With dialogue, predictions agreed with users' statements more often, and errors concentrated on rounds in which users broke their statements: accuracy on rounds with a statement barely changed (.73 to .74), while it rose on kept statements (.76 to .95) and fell sharply on broken ones (.65 to .17). Predictions weighted statements more heavily than users' behavior warranted: when users stated a decision they had not yet made in that game, the predicted probability of keeping it rose from .13 to .69, whereas users kept .40 of such statements. Users' decisions also varied with the agent they faced, but predictions hardly reflected this: users cooperated more with the Agreeableness agent than with the Extraversion agent (70.6% vs. 54.5%), whereas predicted cooperation was nearly identical (64.5% vs. 63.1%). Users also cooperated more with an agent when they themselves scored higher on that agent's trait, whereas predicted cooperation barely changed with these scores. Dialogue-based predictions should therefore weigh users' statements by their earlier decisions and the agent they face.

SemDiff: Binary Similarity Detection by Diffing Key-Semantics Graphs

Binary similarity detection is a critical technique that has been applied in many real-world scenarios where source code is not available, e.g., bug search, malware analysis, and code plagiarism detection. Existing works are ineffective in detecting similar binaries in cases where different compiling optimizations, compilers, source code versions, or obfuscation are deployed. We observe that all the cases do not change a binary's key code behaviors although they significantly modify its syntax and structure. With this key observation, we extract a set of key instructions from a binary to capture its key code behaviors. By detecting the similarity between two binaries' key instructions, we can address well the ineffectiveness limitation of existing works. Specifically, we translate each extracted key instruction into a self-defined key expression, generating a key-semantics graph based on the binary's control flow. Each node in the key-semantics graph denotes a key instruction, and the node attribute is the key expression. To quantify the similarity between two given key-semantics graphs, we first serialize each graph into a sequence of key expressions by topological sort. Then, we tokenize and concatenate key expressions to generate token lists. We calculate the locality-sensitive hash value for all token lists and quantify their similarity. %We implement a prototype, called SemDiff, consisting of two modules: graph generation and graph diffing. The first module generates a pair of key-semantics graphs and the second module diffs the graphs. Our evaluation results show that overall, SemDiff outperforms state-of-the-art tools when detecting the similarity of binaries generated from different optimization levels, compilers, and obfuscations. SemDiff is also effective for library version search and finding similar vulnerabilities in firmware.

A Fibrational Framework For Multi-Conclusion Logics

Oualid Merzouga

The fibrational framework of Licata, Shulman, and Riley gives a uniform account of substructural and modal logics for single-conclusion judgments. This thesis extends it to a multiple-output setting in which cartesian resources may be used freely, while linear resources occur exactly once on either side of the turnstile. Judgments are indexed by descriptors: directed acyclic graphs generalizing the tree-shaped expressions of the original framework. Descriptor $2$-cells encode structural transformations, and explicit gates provide weakening, contraction, coweakening, and cocontraction at linear modes. We define a sequent calculus generated by two connectives, $F$ and $U$. We prove identity, invertibility, and cut admissibility. The mode and type theories present linear-non-linear $2$-polycategories, and the projection is a local discrete fibration and a fibration, with opcartesian lifts for one-output base morphisms. Two adequacy results validate the framework: its cartesian fragment recovers the Licata--Shulman--Riley calculus, and its purely linear fragment presents classical multiplicative linear logic. Finally, we relate indexed and fibrational semantics. After developing representability correspondences for multicategories and polycategories, we establish an equivalence between multi-indexed categories over a fixed representable base and multicategorical opfibrations over it, together with its biclosed bifibrational version. We also give a one-way construction from planar poly-indexed data to a planar polycategory.

RePO-VLA: Recovery-Driven Policy Optimization for Vision-Language-Action Models

Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models remain brittle in long-horizon, contact-rich manipulation because success-only imitation provides little supervision for execution drift, while failed rollouts are often discarded. We introduce RePO-VLA, a recovery-driven policy optimization framework that assigns distinct roles to success, recovery, and failure trajectories. RePO-VLA first applies Recovery-Aware Initialization (RAI), slicing each corrective suffix into a new episode so corrective actions depend on the current adverse state rather than the preceding failure. It then learns a Progress-Aware Semantic Value Function (PAS-VF), aligning spatiotemporal trajectory features with instructions and successful references. The resulting labels salvage useful failure prefixes via reliability decay, while low-value labels mark drift and terminal breakdowns, teaching differences among nominal, failed, and corrective actions. The data engine turns adverse states into planner-generated or human-collected corrective rollouts, teaching recovery to the success manifold. Value-Conditioned Refinement (VCR) trains the policy to prefer high-progress actions. At deployment, a fixed high-value token biases actions toward the learned success manifold without online failure detectors or heuristic retries. We introduce the Failure-Recovery Benchmark (FRBench), with standardized error injection and recovery-focused evaluation. Across simulated and real-world bimanual tasks, RePO-VLA improves robustness, raising adversarial success from 20% to 75% on average and up to 80% in scaled real-world trials. Code and video results are available at https://1018weijia.github.io/RePO-VLA-Web/.

Evaluating DeepSeek V4.1 Flash-1017 for loss of control and harmful manipulation risks

Yao Huang, Zhiyuan Zeng, Yu Wang, Zhitong Zhu, Dingcheng Duan, Hao Li, Shangzhi Xu, Yifan Wang 等 17 位作者

As frontier language models grow increasingly capable and autonomous, independent third-party evaluations are critical for characterizing their systemic safety risks. While closed-source releases are routinely accompanied by comprehensive system cards, open-weight models receive less scrutiny regarding frontier risks. To address this gap, we present an independent safety evaluation of DeepSeek V4.1 Flash-1017, the latest version of V4.1 Flash that departs from V4 with a new architecture, scaled-up training, and strong agentic capabilities. Drawing on the EU General-Purpose AI Code of Practice, we evaluate the model across 34 benchmarks, including 5 in-house suites, spanning evaluation integrity, loss of control, and harmful manipulation. Conforming to the AEF-1 standard, we compare V4.1 Flash-1017 against V4.1 Flash, earlier DeepSeek V4 models, and leading closed-source systems (GPT-6 Astra, GPT-5.6 Sol, and Gemini 3.8 Flash). Overall, V4.1 Flash-1017 shows substantial safety improvements over the V4 generation and approaches or matches leading closed-source baselines on several dimensions, while still exhibiting notable behaviors that warrant continued attention. Building on our findings, we highlight three key observations and recommendations. First, because safety can shift and even regress across minor updates, developers should integrate safety evaluation into incremental releases. Second, as final-turn outputs and end-state checks alone cannot reliably detect loss-of-control behaviors, deployments require process-level observability across both reasoning traces and action logs. Third, because public benchmarks elicit strong evaluation awareness and face data contamination risks, developing private benchmarks is essential for trustworthy frontier evaluation.

OrthoRF: Exploring Orthogonality in Object-Centric Representations

Despoina Touska, Bastiaan Onne Fagginger Auer, Alexandru Onose, Tejaswi Kasarla, Luis Armando Pérez Rey, Maximilian Lipp, Lyubov Amitonova, Martin R. Oswald 等 9 位作者

Neural synchrony is hypothesized to help the brain organize visual scenes into structured multi-object representations. In machine learning, synchrony-based models analogously learn object-centric representations by storing binding in the phase of complex-valued features. Rotating Features (RF) instantiate this idea with vector-valued activations, encoding object presence in magnitudes and affiliation in orientations. We propose Orthogonal Rotating Features (OrthoRF), which enforces orthogonality in RF's orientation space via an inner-product loss and architectural modifications. This yields sharper phase alignment and more reliable grouping. In evaluations of unsupervised object discovery, including settings with overlapping objects, noise, and out-of-distribution tests, OrthoRF matches or outperforms current models while producing more interpretable representations, and it eliminates the post-hoc clustering required by many synchrony-based approaches. Unlike current models, OrthoRF also recovers occluded object parts, indicating stronger grouping under occlusion. Overall, orthogonality emerges as a simple, effective inductive bias for synchrony-based object-centric learning.

KnowMT-Bench: Benchmarking Knowledge-Intensive Long-Form Question Answering in Multi-Turn Dialogues

Junhao Chen, Yu Huang, Siyuan Li, Rui Yao, Hanqian Li, Hanyu Zhang, Jungang Li, Jian Chen 等 10 位作者

Multi-Turn Long-Form Question Answering (MT-LFQA) is a key application paradigm of Large Language Models (LLMs) in knowledge-intensive domains. However, existing benchmarks are limited to single-turn dialogue, while multi-turn dialogue benchmarks typically assess other orthogonal capabilities rather than knowledge-intensive factuality. To bridge this critical gap, we introduce \textbf{KnowMT-Bench}, a new benchmark designed to systematically evaluate MT-LFQA for LLMs across knowledge-intensive fields, including medicine, finance, and law. To faithfully assess the model's real-world performance, KnowMT-Bench employs a dynamic evaluation setting where models generate their own multi-turn dialogue histories given logically progressive question sequences. Our experiments on a diverse suite of LLMs show a clear degradation in both factual capability and information delivery efficiency in multi-turn dialogue. We further probe the underlying causes and investigate mitigation strategies spanning domain-specific finetuning, active context denoising, and RAG. The results show domain-dependent gains from finetuning, while active context denoising and RAG more consistently mitigate these issues, with RAG notably reversing this performance degradation. These findings underscore the importance of our benchmark for evaluating LLMs' conversational factual capabilities in real-world applications. Code and data are publicly available.\footnote{\href{https://github.com/Sven-LI-sankyuu/KnowMT-Bench}{\texttt{https://github.com/Sven-LI-sankyuu/KnowMT-Bench}}}

XPress: Parallel Refinement for Diffusion Drafters in Speculative Decoding

Zheng Wang, Davis Wertheimer, Yu Chin Fabian Lim, Mudhakar Srivatsa, Raghu K. Ganti, Minjia Zhang, Naigang Wang

Block-diffusion drafters like dFlash generate an entire block of draft tokens in a single forward pass, drastically reducing the overhead of multiple-token drafting in speculative decoding. The crucial final step of the single-pass discrete denoising process involves using the logit distribution at each position to sample conditionally independent tokens. The resulting draft is thus a set of per-position marginals, rather than a joint distribution: no draft token is guaranteed to depend on its predecessors. Such independently sampled marginals tend to produce sequences with tokens that are individually likely, but jointly improbable under the target model's distribution, which verifies each token conditionally. This can cause early rejection and limits acceptance length. To address this, we propose xPress as a means to restore the missing causality in diffusion drafters. xPress is a lightweight causal refiner that reconciles the whole diffusion block at once through parallel refinement, restoring and propagating causal dependencies across the draft without a token-by-token loop. On Qwen3-8B, across seven math, code, and chat benchmarks, xPress raises acceptance length by about 30% on average (up to +56%) and its end-to-end decoding throughput by about 1.3 on average (up to 1.7) compared to the original dFlash diffusion drafter.

A Battery for AI Propensity Measurement: Rubrics, Synthetic Item Banks, and Annotations

We release a battery of 28 propensities for AI research, with expert-written rubrics, synthetic datasets, and annotated demand intervals, built with the method of Romero-Alvarado et al. (2026). We selected a wide collection of generic propensities that may influence the behavior of AI systems and humans. They are inspired by psychometric, psychological, and behavioral research, so that experimental results can be understood in the context of familiar constructs previously used also for human behavior research. The rubrics are useful for annotating existing benchmarks whose items may be relevant or not for one or more propensities. For easier profiling, however, the synthetic datasets are defined in such a way that they should be sensitive to one propensity only, allowing for a quick prototyping of propensity profiles using the battery of datasets. We also outline directions for future propensity research.
