Towards Reliable, Scalable, and Value-Aligned Generative Recommendation for Large-Scale Advertising

Generative recommendation (GR) reformulates item retrieval as autoregressive generation of discrete semantic identifiers (SIDs), offering a unified paradigm for personalized recommendation. GR4AD, as an industrial generative recommendation framework, has greatly improved advertising revenue while enabling efficient real-time serving in Kuaishou. However, continued deployment has exposed three limitations: deterministic SID assignment remains sensitive to semantic boundaries; conventional backbone scaling provides diminishing revenue gains under strict serving constraints; and sequence-level value optimization provides limited credit assignment to intermediate SID decisions, causing likelihood-based beam search to prematurely prune potentially high-value candidates. We present GR4AD-X, which addresses these limitations through reliable SID construction, serving-efficient capacity scaling, and unified value alignment. Specifically, GR4AD-X improves SID reliability through Multi-Path assignment. It expands model capacity along multiple complementary dimensions rather than relying solely on wider or deeper backbones, achieving a better effectiveness-efficiency trade-off under strict serving constraints. Finally, Unified Value-Guided Generation and Discrimination (UniVGD) aligns generation with commercial value through prefix-level reward optimization, value-guided beam pruning, and discriminative reranking within a unified model. Large-scale online A/B tests on the Kuaishou advertising platform demonstrate that GR4AD-X achieves a cumulative revenue improvement of 3.07% over the deployed GR4AD baseline while satisfying strict latency and throughput constraints.

Optimality and annealing path planning of dynamical analog solvers

Shu Zhou, K. Y. Michael Wong, Juntao Wang, David Shui Wing Hui, Daniel Ebler, Jie Sun

Recently proposed analog solvers based on dynamical systems, such as Ising machines, are promising platforms for large-scale combinatorial optimization. Yet, given the heuristic nature of the field, there is very limited insight on optimality guarantees of the solvers, as well as how parameter schedules shape dynamics and outcomes. Here, we develop a dynamical mean-field framework to analyze Ising-machine dynamics for finding the ground state energy of the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick(SK) model of spin glasses and identify mechanisms that enable rapid convergence to provenly near-optimal energies. For a fixed target energy density Ec, we show that solutions are typically reached within O(1) matrix vector multiplications, indicating constant time complexity. We further delineate theoretical limitations arising from different parameter-scheduling trajectories and demonstrate a pronounced benefit of temperature-only annealing for the Coherent Ising Machine. Building on these insights, we propose a general framework for designing optimized parameter schedules, thereby improving the practical effectiveness of Ising machines for complex optimization tasks. The superior performance of the dynamical solvers is illustrated by the attainment of the ground state energy of the SK model.

AgencyBench: Benchmarking the Frontiers of Autonomous Agents in 1M-Token Real-World Contexts

Keyu Li, Junhao Shi, Yang Xiao, Mohan Jiang, Jie Sun, Yunze Wu, Dayuan Fu, Shijie Xia Shanghai Jiaotong University 等 14 位作者

Large Language Models (LLMs) based autonomous agents demonstrate multifaceted capabilities to contribute substantially to economic production. However, existing benchmarks remain focused on single agentic capability, failing to capture long-horizon real-world scenarios. Moreover, the reliance on human-in-the-loop feedback for realistic tasks creates a scalability bottleneck, hindering automated rollout collection and evaluation. To bridge this gap, we introduce AgencyBench, a comprehensive benchmark derived from daily AI usage, evaluating 6 core agentic capabilities across 32 real-world scenarios, comprising 138 tasks with specific queries, deliverables, and rubrics. These scenarios require an average of 90 tool calls, 1 million tokens, and hours of execution time to resolve. To enable automated evaluation, we employ a user simulation agent to provide iterative feedback, and a Docker sandbox to conduct visual and functional rubric-based assessment. Experiments reveal that closed-source models significantly outperform open-source models (48.4% vs 32.1%). Further analysis reveals significant disparities across models in resource efficiency, feedback-driven self-correction, and specific tool-use preferences.
