Robust and leakage-resilient device-independent oblivious transfer in MiniQCrypt

Rishabh Batra, Zhili Chen, Rahul Jain, YaoNan Zhang

Assuming post-quantum one-way functions, we construct device-independent oblivious transfer and bit commitment that tolerate independent honest faults at a constant rate and adaptive, bidirectional quantum leakage between the laboratories at a constant rate. Honest parties use trusted classical computation to operate untrusted quantum devices, which may share arbitrary entanglement and perform joint measurements without assumptions of independence or identical distribution. Security is simulation-based against quantum polynomial-time adversaries and composes sequentially with efficient simulators. For security parameter $λ$ and a prescribed total leakage budget $\ell$, one complete one-bit oblivious transfer uses $Θ(\ell+\log^2λ)$ device coordinates in at most three single-use device windows, including preprocessing, and polynomial classical computation and communication. The leakage budget is shared across these windows. The commitment has efficient simulators against both parties and yields device-independent coin tossing with abort; each uses one window. Completeness of oblivious transfer gives device-independent secure computation with abort for every efficiently computable classical functionality on a fixed number of parties, against static corruption of any proper subset, provided each reached call to oblivious transfer satisfies the device and budget conditions. The construction combines short selectors with code-based choice masking, a global audit, and error correction across field symbols. The commitment extractor changes a classical code coset while leaving the device execution and its leakage unchanged. Sender security uses a global Fourier analysis and a selector-aware Magic Square repetition bound derived from the two-round threshold theorem of Kundu and Tan (2023).

Learning Arbitrary Lindbladians from Time Evolution

Zhili Chen, Zhan Yu

We study the problem of learning arbitrary $n$-qubit Lindbladians, the generators of Markovian open-system dynamics, from their time evolution. We give the first known efficient algorithm that learns arbitrary Lindbladians without any structural assumptions. For an $n$-qubit Lindbladian of dynamical strength at most $Λ$, the algorithm estimates every coefficient to error $\varepsilon$ using $\widetilde O(Λ^2/\varepsilon^2)$ experiments and $\widetilde O(Λ/\varepsilon^2)$ total evolution time, with classical running time polynomial in $n$ and $Λ/\varepsilon$. Both experimental costs match known lower bounds up to polylogarithmic factors. The algorithm identifies candidate labels through product Pauli experiments and estimates their coefficients using random stabilizer preparations and Clifford measurements. It requires no ancillas or control during the unknown evolution. For constant $k$, our algorithm learns generic $k$-local Lindbladians of local dynamical strength at most $Λ_{\mathrm{loc}}$ using $\widetilde O(n^2Λ_{\mathrm{loc}}^2/\varepsilon^2)$ experiments and $\widetilde O(nΛ_{\mathrm{loc}}/\varepsilon^2)$ total evolution time, improving the upper bounds of prior works in terms of the dependence on $n$. We further improve the lower bounds of Arad, Chen, Guo, Rebentrost, and Yu (SODA 2027) using a family of $3$-local Lindbladians. They already hold when the support is known, and only one Hamiltonian coefficient is requested, even for adaptive protocols with arbitrary ancillas and quantum memory. These lower bounds establish that our algorithm is optimal up to polylogarithmic factors in both experiment count and total evolution time for every fixed $k \geq 3$.

TRACER: Token ReAssignment for Concept ERasure in Generative Recommendation

Ziheng Chen, Jiali Cheng, Zezhong Fan, Hadi Amiri, Diyuan Wu, Gabriele Tolomei, Yang Zhang

Generative recommendation formulates next-item prediction as autoregressive generation over semantic ID (SID) sequences derived from users' historical interactions, making modern recommender systems structurally similar to large language models (LLMs). As privacy and safety concerns grow, these systems increasingly require concept unlearning to remove sensitive or harmful concepts associated with items. However, existing LLM unlearning methods cannot be directly applied to generative recommendation. Unlike word tokens with explicit semantics, SIDs are abstract identifiers that are often shared by both forget and retain items, leading to severe conflicts between concept removal and recommendation utility preservation. To address this challenge, we propose TRACER, an end-to-end concept unlearning framework based on token reassignment. Rather than directly suppressing shared SIDs, TRACER reassigns concept-related items to alternative tokens that better facilitate forgetting while minimizing side effects on retained items. We further introduce a coherence regularizer to preserve semantic consistency among retain items during unlearning. Experiments on real-world recommendation datasets demonstrate that TRACER effectively removes target concepts while substantially better preserving recommendation utility than existing unlearning baselines.

Lab2Sim: Turning Real-World Experiment Videos into Interactive Virtual Experiments

Xusen Hei, Jiali Chen, Jinyu Yang, Yi Cai

Science experiment videos demonstrate how experiments are performed, but offer no direct interaction for learners. Turning them into virtual experiments requires not only reproducing the observed apparatus and state changes, but also enforcing the preconditions governing each operation. We introduce Lab2Sim, a benchmark of 218 science experiment videos with evidence-grounded specifications and 11,881 rubric items. To address this task, we propose EduVideo2Code, which extracts experimental procedures hierarchically, encodes them as explicit state machines to guide code generation, and refines the resulting pages through execution-based verification. Experiments show that existing multimodal models readily generate runnable pages but struggle to faithfully reconstruct experimental apparatus. EduVideo2Code consistently improves all four evaluation dimensions across two backbone models, with apparatus fidelity gains of 24.15 points.

DiffCap-Bench: A Comprehensive, Challenging, Robust Benchmark for Image Difference Captioning

Yuancheng Wei, Haojie Zhang, Linli Yao, Lei Li, Jiali Chen, Tao Huang, Yiting Lu, Duojun Huang 等 10 位作者

Image Difference Captioning (IDC) generates natural language descriptions that precisely identify differences between two images, serving as a key benchmark for fine-grained change perception, cross-modal reasoning, and image editing data construction. However, existing benchmarks lack diversity and compositional complexity, and standard lexical-overlap metrics (e.g., BLEU, METEOR) fail to capture semantic consistency or penalize hallucinations, which together prevent a comprehensive and robust evaluation of multimodal large language models (MLLMs) on IDC. To address these gaps, we introduce DiffCap-Bench, a comprehensive IDC benchmark covering ten distinct difference categories to ensure diversity and compositional complexity. Furthermore, we propose an LLM-as-a-Judge evaluation protocol grounded in human-validated Difference Lists, enabling a robust assessment of models' ability to both capture and describe visual changes. Through extensive evaluation of state-of-the-art MLLMs, we reveal significant performance gaps between proprietary and open-source models, highlight the critical importance of reasoning capability, and identify clear limitations in model scaling. Our framework also demonstrates strong alignment with human expert judgments and strong correlation with downstream image editing data construction quality. These findings establish DiffCap-Bench as both a reliable IDC evaluation framework and a practical predictor of downstream utility. The benchmark and code will be made publicly available to support further research.

Training-Free Motion-Corrected 3D Brain MRI Reconstruction via Event-Guided References

Wei Jiang, Hongli Chen, Tianyi Ding, Feng Liu, Nan Ye, Hongfu Sun

Head motion causes artefacts in 3D brain MRI and can bias structural measurements. Model-based correction alternates between image and motion estimation, but artefacts in the reconstructed reference can reinforce motion errors. Learned priors can reduce these artefacts but require pretraining and may add test-time computation. We propose EventMC (event-guided motion correction), a training-free method for interleaved Cartesian acquisitions. It iteratively detects motion events and estimates motion using reference images reconstructed from stable intervals. It then refines the image and motion from low to high spatial frequencies. In a fair comparison in simulation (same reconstruction), EventMC's motion estimates improve mean PSNR by up to 4.0 dB over those of the learning-based MotionTTT. A single run of EventMC is up to 7.5 times faster than MotionTTT with less than half the GPU memory. On in vivo motion-corrupted scans, EventMC achieves similar mean image quality to MotionTTT without any training. Code is available at https://github.com/bayesbreeze/EventMC.

R2QRec: Learning Recommendation Queries from Retrieval Feedback

Weixin Chen, Shuchang Liu, Hailan Yang, Yuhan Zhao, Li Kang, Xuefeng Zhang, Chenghao Zhang, Xinyuan Wang 等 16 位作者

Query-based recommendation separates expressing user needs from locating matching items. Its central learning problem is how to turn item interactions into effective retrieval requests when interaction logs do not annotate queries. We present R2QRec, which uses a fixed retrieval system to construct query supervision and evaluate recommendation outcomes. Retrieval verification first selects generated expressions that recover observed items as supervised fine tuning targets, allowing retrieval behavior to determine the target wording. Policy refinement then evaluates generated query sets by the observed item's rank in their fused recommendation list. Log-rank feedback distinguishes outcomes beyond the recommendation cutoff, while a KL penalty constrains policy change relative to the supervised reference. The stages have distinct roles: verification identifies expressions to imitate, and policy refinement improves the combined ranking produced by newly generated queries. Only the query generator is trained; the retriever and item index remain fixed, and no query annotations or learned reward model are required. Across three public datasets, R2QRec achieves state-of-the-art overall recommendation performance among the evaluated methods. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design and its generalization across generators and domains.

Test-time Correction: An Online 3D Detection System via Visual Prompting

Hanxue Zhang, Zetong Yang, Yanan Sun, Li Chen, Fatma Güney, Hongyang Li

This paper introduces Test-time Correction (TTC), an online 3D detection system designed to rectify test-time errors using various auxiliary feedback, aiming to enhance the safety of deployed autonomous driving systems. Unlike conventional offline 3D detectors that remain fixed during inference, TTC enables immediate online error correction without retraining, allowing autonomous vehicles to adapt to new scenarios and reduce deployment risks. To achieve this, we equip existing 3D detectors with an Online Adapter (OA) module -- a prompt-driven query generator for real-time correction. At the core of OA module are visual prompts: image-based descriptions of objects of interest derived from auxiliary feedback such as mismatches with 2D detections, road descriptions, or user clicks. These visual prompts, collected from risky objects during inference, are maintained in a visual prompt buffer to enable continuous correction in future frames. By leveraging this mechanism, TTC consistently detects risky objects, achieving reliable, adaptive, and versatile driving autonomy. Extensive experiments show that TTC significantly improves instant error rectification over frozen 3D detectors, even under limited labels, zero-shot settings, and adverse conditions. We hope this work inspires future research on post-deployment online rectification systems for autonomous driving.

Learning and Reasoning with Geometry: How Generation Helps Spatial Understanding

Rui Yang, Yanwei Li, Sili Chen, Jingjia Huang, Yi Lin, Hengshuang Zhao

Image and video generators can produce spatially consistent visual content, but how to use this capability to improve spatial understanding remains underexplored. We study this problem from two perspectives: geometric supervision during training and explicit geometric evidence during inference. To this end, we introduce a unified geometric understanding and generation model (GeoUG) that integrates depth and multi-view generation with spatial understanding. First, we design a multi-scale depth codec that enables metric-depth generation using a pretrained visual autoencoder, and show that joint training yields task-dependent gains in spatial understanding. Second, we introduce 3DCueBench to control geometric difficulty while balancing selected 2D cues, and find that generated depth provides larger reasoning gains on questions requiring fine-grained geometric discrimination. Building on this finding, we develop adaptive interleaved reasoning, in which GeoUG first drafts an answer and then decides whether to generate geometric evidence to confirm or revise it. We train this decision through reinforcement learning, balancing accuracy gains over retaining the draft against generation cost. GeoUG achieves circular accuracies of 97.9%, 90.8%, and 94.2% on CV-Bench-3D, 3DCueBench, and DA-2K with fewer generation calls than always generating.

MaDS: Long-Horizon GUI Automation via Synergizing Dual-Layer Memory and Multi-Round Debate

Pengchen Chen Zhejiang University, Shi Chen College of Computer Science and Technology, Zhejiang University, Qiming Ye, Xinli Chen Zhejiang University, Xinran Li Zhejiang University, Wei Xiang Zhejiang University

Automating Graphical User Interface (GUI) operations with Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) is promising but remains bottlenecked in real-world long-horizon settings. Key challenges include ensuring precise grounding across diverse interfaces and handling irreversible errors in extended workflows. Current methods often struggle to distinguish targets in low Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) environments and lack sufficient pre-execution verification to prevent error accumulation. To address this, we propose the Memory-augmented Debate System (MaDS). Specifically, MaDS combines: (1) a Dual-Layer Memory Module that integrates universal interaction priors with scenario-specific operational experience to mitigate grounding hallucinations; and (2) Multi-Round Debate that performs pre-execution verification, while transforming execution failures into retrievable Negative Warnings to reduce repeated errors. Additionally, we introduce MaDS-Benchmark, a benchmark for long-horizon mobile GUI tasks with process-oriented evaluation. Experiments show that MaDS achieves a 90.23% Task Success Rate on MaDS-Benchmark and strong performance on public benchmarks including AITW, AITZ, CAGUI, and GUIOdyssey.

SAM3-I: Segment Anything with Instructions

Segment Anything Model 3 (SAM3) advances open-vocabulary segmentation through promptable concept segmentation, enabling users to segment all instances associated with a given concept using short noun-phrase (NP) prompts. While effective for concept-level grounding, real-world interactions often involve far richer natural-language instructions that combine attributes, relations, actions, states, or implicit reasoning. Currently, SAM3 relies on external multi-modal agents to convert complex instructions into NPs and conducts iterative mask filtering, leading to coarse representations and limited instance specificity. In this work, we present SAM3-I, an instruction-following extension of the SAM family that unifies concept-level grounding and instruction-level reasoning within a single segmentation framework. Built upon SAM3, SAM3-I introduces an instruction-aware cascaded adaptation mechanism with dedicated alignment losses that progressively aligns expressive instruction semantics with SAM3’s vision-language representations, enabling direct interpretation of natural-language instructions while preserving its strong concept recall ability. To enable instruction-following learning, we introduce HMPL-Instruct, a large-scale instruction-centric dataset that systematically covers hierarchical instruction semantics and diverse target granularities. Experiments demonstrate that SAM3-I achieves appealing performance across referring and reasoning-based segmentation, showing that SAM3 can be effectively extended to follow complex natural-language instructions without sacrificing its original concept-driven strengths. Code and dataset are available at https://github.com/debby-0527/SAM3-I.

Can LLMs Learn to Map the World from Local Descriptions?

Sirui Xia, Aili Chen, Xintao Wang, Tinghui Zhu University of California, Davis, Yikai Zhang, Jiangjie Chen ByteDance Seed, Yanghua Xiao Fudan University

Recent advances in Large Language Models (LLMs) have demonstrated strong capabilities in tasks such as code generation and mathematical reasoning. However, their potential to internalize structured spatial knowledge remains underexplored. This study investigates whether LLMs, grounded in locally relative human observations, can construct coherent global spatial cognition by integrating fragmented relational descriptions. We focus on two core aspects of spatial cognition: spatial perception, where models infer consistent global layouts from local positional relationships, and spatial navigation, where models learn road connectivity from trajectory data and plan optimal paths between unconnected locations. Experiments conducted in a simulated urban environment demonstrate that LLMs not only generalize to unseen spatial relationships between points of interest (POIs) but also exhibit latent representations aligned with real-world spatial distributions. Furthermore, LLMs can learn road connectivity from trajectory descriptions, enabling accurate path planning and dynamic spatial awareness during navigation.

MemRec: Collaborative Memory-Augmented Agentic Recommender System

Weixin Chen Hong Kong Baptist University, Yuhan Zhao, Jingyuan Huang Rutgers University, Zihe Ye Rutgers University, Mingxuan Ju Snap Inc., Tong Zhao Snap Inc., Neil Shah Snap Inc., Li Chen Hong Kong Baptist University 等 9 位作者

The evolution of recommender systems has shifted from traditional collaborative filtering to LLM-based agentic systems, which rely on semantic user and item memories to make predictions. However, existing agents maintain these memories in isolation. This overlooks crucial collaborative signals, such as user-item co-engagements and peer relationships across the community, which significantly limits their ability to uncover hidden preferences and accurately infer user needs, particularly for data-sparse users. To bridge this gap, we introduce collaborative memory, a paradigm that connects isolated semantics to enable the sharing of relational insights. Yet, naively utilizing collaborative memory causes severe context overload and introduces noise to downstream LLMs, alongside prohibitive computational costs. To resolve this, we propose MemRec, a framework that architecturally decouples memory management from reasoning. MemRec introduces a dedicated, lightweight language model LM_Mem to efficiently manage and synthesize a dynamic collaborative memory graph in the background. It provides only distilled, high-signal contexts to a downstream, heavyweight large language model (LLM_Rec) for the final recommendation. Extensive experiments on four benchmarks demonstrate that MemRec achieves state-of-the-art performance. Code: https://github.com/rutgerswiselab/memrecHomepage: https://memrec.weixinchen.com

Jailbreak-Zero: A Path to Pareto Optimal Red Teaming for Large Language Models

This paper presents a novel Automated Red Teaming (ART) framework that shifts from example-based to policy-based evaluation, addressing critical limitations in scalability and validity. We define harmful content through abstract safety policies rather than specific static examples. We also introduce multiple evaluation objectives: risk coverage, semantic diversity, and fidelity, and discover Pareto trade-offs between them. We propose Jailbreak-Zero, a black-box method capable of both zero-shot generation and fine-tuned exploitation of a victim’s vulnerabilities to achieve Pareto optimality. Unlike prior approaches, it does not require expert-designed strategies/prompts, but still achieves superior, human-readable attacks against open-source and proprietary models (attack success rates of 99.5% against GPT-4o and 96.0% against Claude 3.5), even for unseen safety policies. It retains efficacy even after victim models undergo safety alignment, and exposes controls to navigate Pareto trade-offs without retraining. Lastly, we show that Jailbreak-Zero is the best-performing ART method at a given compute budget. Code is available at: https://github.com/hukkai/jailbreak-zero/ .

CADMate: Generating CAD Assembly Plan with Geometric Chain-of-Thought and Spatial Physical Rewards

Jiali Chen, DingBa Fu, Xusen Hei, Yuhang Liu, Yiyang Chen, Jiayuan Xie, Wenqi Fan The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Yi Cai South China University of Technology

Computer-aided design (CAD) is crucial in prototyping complex 3D objects through precise geometric modeling. In practical design workflows, designers manually define assembly sequences for individual CAD parts, a process that is both time-consuming and expertise-intensive. To address this challenge, we formulate CAD assembly as a parametric action prediction task: given a reference design image and disassembled parts, the model predicts 6-DoF transformations (, actions) to progressively assemble each part. This paradigm enables multimodal large language models (MLLMs) to solve the task through autoregressive action generation. While recent MLLMs demonstrate promising spatial reasoning, they struggle with fine-grained geometric structure understanding and physical collision avoidance during assembly. In this paper, we propose CADMate, an MLLM-based framework for sequential CAD assembly action generation. Our training strategy comprises three stages: (i) CAD domain adaptation for spatial geometry and position understanding, (ii) supervised fine-tuning with geometric chain-of-thought (CoT) reasoning for action generation, and (iii) reinforcement learning with spatial-physical rewards jointly optimize spatial accuracy and collision avoidance. Additionally, we also construct CADBuilder dataset, comprising over 45K CAD assemblies with annotated action sequences. Our experiments demonstrate that CADMate significantly outperforms existing prominent MLLMs (, GPT-5), showing great potential in design applications.
