MA-SafeDiffuser: Safe Multi-Agent Planning with Diffusion Probabilistic Models

Kiran Ravish, Ankita Kushwaha, Preeti, Pawan Kumar

We propose MA-SafeDiffuser, a multi-agent extension of SafeDiffuser that equips diffusion-based trajectory planners with finite-time diffusion invariance guarantees for joint-agent safety specifications. Building on the single-agent construction that embeds control barrier function (CBF) constraints into reverse-diffusion updates, we: (i) formalize joint safe sets as intersections of per-agent and pairwise barrier sets; (ii) derive centralized and decentralized (communication-aware) constrained denoising procedures with provable invariance under mild assumptions; (iii) address local-trap and deadlock phenomena via time-varying specifications and liveness CBFs; and (iv) develop a lightweight benchmarking suite including a multi-agent Maze2D domain. Empirically, MA-SafeDiffuser reduces violation counts relative to unconstrained diffusion baselines, while retaining planning quality. We provide algorithms, proofs, and reference implementations.

Requests of a Feather Must Flock Together: Batch Size vs. Prefix Homogeneity in LLM Inference

Saksham Rathi, Preeti, Mythili Vutukuru

Auto-regressive token generation in large language models is memory-bound because it requires "attending to" key and value tensors (KV cache) of all previous tokens. Prior work aims to improve the efficiency of this decode process by batching multiple requests together, and maximizing batch size subject to GPU memory constraints. The key observation of our work is that with prefix-sharing workloads, smaller, prefix-homogeneous batches - where all requests share a common prefix - can achieve higher decode throughput than larger, heterogeneous batches, due to better spatial and temporal locality during KV cache accesses. However, current prefix-aware schedulers maximize prefix reuse within a batch only to reduce KV cache memory footprint, but do not stop batch formation at smaller homogeneous batches that could have performed better. Further, we show that shared prefix detection in existing schedulers relies on radix-tree traversals, incurring substantial CPU overhead that is often comparable to GPU execution time. This paper presents Feather, a prefix-aware scheduler that uses reinforcement learning (RL) to learn the optimal tradeoff between batch size and prefix homogeneity. We also introduce Chunked Hash Tree (CHT), a lightweight data structure that enables fast prefix detection and efficient request selection for the RL scheduler, avoiding expensive tree traversals. We integrate Feather into vLLM and SGLang, and our evaluation shows that Feather achieves 2-10$\times$ higher end-to-end throughput as compared to existing schedulers by reducing the total number of KV cache accesses, while doing no worse than the status quo when there is insufficient prefix sharing.

Nemotron 3.5 Super and Lightning: Open, Efficient Mixture-of-Experts Hybrid Mamba-Transformer Models for Agentic AI

We introduce Nemotron 3.5 Super and Nemotron 3.5 Lightning, open and efficient Mixture-of-Experts Hybrid Mamba-Transformer models designed for reasoning, long-context understanding, and agentic workloads. Super is a 120B-parameter, 12B-active multimodal model, while Lightning is a smaller 30B-parameter, 3B-active text model; both designed for efficient deployment. Both models combine large-scale distillation, long-context training, and native speculative decoding, while Super further incorporates Indic continued pretraining and agentic software-engineering mid-training. We develop a comprehensive post-training pipeline spanning supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning (RLVR and RLHF), complemented in Super by specialized teacher training and multi- teacher on-policy distillation (MOPD). This transforms Super from a text-only base model into a multimodal agent capable of reasoning over text, images, video, and interactive tool environments. We further explore test-time scaling through parallel agent execution and self-verification. Across training and deployment, we jointly optimize capability and efficiency. Indic continued pretraining improves Indian-language benchmarks by up to 9.82 percentage points, while agentic mid-training strengthens software-engineering capabilities and robustness across agent harnesses. The post-trained Super model achieves 51.78% on SWE-bench Pro, surpassing Nemotron 3 Ultra despite using approximately 4.6x fewer active parameters. Post-training MTP boosting improves speculative- decoding acceptance length by up to 21.8% under probabilistic draft sampling, while NVFP4 quantization achieves 99.62% median accuracy recovery relative to BF16. Inference optimizations enable up to 4,856 output tokens/s/GPU on GB200 while sustaining at least 50 tokens/s/user.

AI 速览:提出“learning interactives”框架,借助Gemini的生成式UI能力自动构建定制化互动模拟,并通过教育者初步研究与专家教师的教学评分进行评估。

It is well established that students learn best through active engagement, particularly via interactive experiences tied to real-world concepts. Creating such experiences, however, typically requires labor-intensive design, costly development, and continuous teacher guidance to achieve measurably effective outcomes. Recent advances in generative UI open the door for a future of practice where the creation of tailored interactive experiences is automated. However, off-the-shelf models lack optimization for pedagogical precision and learning principles, often yielding unsatisfactory results for complex pedagogical constructs. To address these limitations, we present learning interactives, a structured framework leveraging the generative UI capabilities of Gemini to construct effective customized interactive simulations. We evaluate our approach through both an initial study with educators as well as a pedagogical rating of a varied set of simulations by expert teachers.

MedGemma Technical Report

Artificial intelligence (AI) has significant potential in healthcare applications, but its training and deployment faces challenges due to healthcare's diverse data, complex tasks, and the need to preserve privacy. Foundation models that perform well on medical tasks and require less task-specific tuning data are critical to accelerate the development of healthcare AI applications. We introduce MedGemma, a collection of medical vision-language foundation models based on Gemma 3 4B and 27B. MedGemma demonstrates advanced medical understanding and reasoning on images and text, significantly exceeding the performance of similar-sized generative models and approaching the performance of task-specific models, while maintaining the general capabilities of the Gemma 3 base models. For out-of-distribution tasks, MedGemma achieves 2.6-10% improvement on medical multimodal question answering, 15.5-18.1% improvement on chest X-ray finding classification, and 10.8% improvement on agentic evaluations compared to the base models. Fine-tuning MedGemma further improves performance in subdomains, reducing errors in electronic health record information retrieval by 50% and reaching comparable performance to existing specialized state-of-the-art methods for pneumothorax classification and histopathology patch classification. We additionally introduce MedSigLIP, a medically-tuned vision encoder derived from SigLIP. MedSigLIP powers the visual understanding capabilities of MedGemma and as an encoder achieves comparable or better performance than specialized medical image encoders. Taken together, the MedGemma collection provides a strong foundation of medical image and text capabilities, with potential to significantly accelerate medical research and development of downstream applications. The MedGemma collection, including tutorials and model weights, can be found at https://goo.gle/medgemma.

Towards an AI-Augmented Textbook

LearnLM Team, Google, :, Alicia Martín, Amir Globerson, Amy Wang, Anirudh Shekhawat, Anna Iurchenko 等 37 位作者

Textbooks are a cornerstone of education, but they have a fundamental limitation: they are a one-size-fits-all medium. Any new material or alternative representation requires arduous human effort, so that textbooks cannot be adapted in a scalable manner. We present an approach for transforming and augmenting textbooks using generative AI, adding layers of multiple representations and personalization while maintaining content integrity and quality. We refer to the system built with this approach as Learn Your Way. We report pedagogical evaluations of the different transformations and augmentations, and present the results of a a randomized control trial, highlighting the advantages of learning with Learn Your Way over regular textbook usage.
