Scaling model capacity has emerged as an effective approach to overcoming performance bottlenecks in industrial recommender systems. However, repeatedly training new models from scratch requires large amounts of data and substantial training resources. Parameter inheritance provides a promising route for both dense model growth and sparse conversion, yet existing methods for LLMs are primarily designed for static corpora and can suffer sharp performance drops under dynamically evolving recommendation data. To address these challenges, we propose Inherit4Rec, a parameter-inheritance framework that supports both Dense-to-Dense (D2D) growth and Dense-to-Sparse (D2S) conversion. Inherit4Rec-D2D combines hybrid growth with asymmetric training to preserve the forward function at expansion and maintain update continuity. Inherit4Rec-D2S constructs SMoE networks through co-activation-aware partitioning with a load-balancing loss, preserving dense-model capabilities while promoting balanced expert activation. Experiments on KuaiRand-1K and an industrial short-video recommendation dataset show that both transformations consistently outperform the SOTA inheritance baselines across all prediction objectives. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of Inherit4Rec for continual capacity expansion and computation-efficient sparse conversion in industrial recommender systems.
The powerful generative capacity of Large Language Models (LLMs) has instigated a paradigm shift in recommendation. However, existing generative models (e.g., OneRec) operate as implicit predictors, critically lacking the capacity for explicit and controllable reasoning—a key advantage of LLMs. To bridge this gap, we propose OneRec-Think, a unified framework that seamlessly integrates dialogue, reasoning, and personalized recommendation. OneRec-Think incorporates: (1) Itemic Alignment: cross-modal Item-Textual Alignment for semantic grounding; (2) Reasoning Activation: Reasoning Scaffolding to activate LLM reasoning within the recommendation context; and (3) Reasoning Enhancement, where we design a recommendation-specific reward function that accounts for the multi-validity nature of user preferences. Experiments across public benchmarks show state-of-the-art performance. Moreover, our proposed “Think-Ahead” architecture enables effective industrial deployment, achieving a 0.159% gain in APP Stay Time and validating the practical efficacy of the model’s explicit reasoning capability.

Reinforcement learning (RL)-based enhancement of large language models (LLMs) often leads to reduced output diversity, undermining their utility in open-ended tasks like creative writing. Current methods lack explicit mechanisms for guiding diverse exploration and instead prioritize optimization efficiency and performance over diversity. This paper proposes an RL framework structured around a semi-structured long Chain-of-Thought (CoT), in which the generation process is decomposed into explicitly planned intermediate steps. We introduce a Diverse Planning Branching method that strategically introduces divergence at the planning phase based on diversity variation, alongside a group-aware diversity reward to encourage distinct trajectories. Experimental results on creative writing benchmarks demonstrate that our approach significantly improves output diversity without compromising generation quality, consistently outperforming existing baselines.

Function calling significantly extends the application boundary of large language models, where high-quality and diverse training data is critical for unlocking this capability. However, real function-calling data is quite challenging to collect and annotate, while synthetic data generated by existing pipelines tends to lack coverage and accuracy. In this paper, we present ToolACE, an automatic agentic pipeline designed to generate accurate, complex, and diverse tool-learning data. ToolACE leverages a novel self-evolution synthesis process to curate a comprehensive API pool of 26,507 diverse APIs. Dialogs are further generated through the interplay among multiple agents, guided by a formalized thinking process. To ensure data accuracy, we implement a dual-layer verification system combining rule-based and model-based checks. We demonstrate that models trained on our synthesized data, even with only 8B parameters, achieve state-of-the-art performance on the Berkeley Function-Calling Leaderboard, rivaling the latest GPT-4 models.
