Using machine learning, we identify a second transition in polymer chain stretching driven by planar elongational flow, beyond the well-known coil-stretch transition. We achieve this by developing a conditional extension of Universal and Identifiable Dissipative Dynamics (UIDD) that jointly learns reduced stochastic dynamics from microscopic trajectories across flow strengths and yields the corresponding stationary nonequilibrium free energy landscapes. As the flow strength increases, the evolving landscape exhibits the expected coil-stretch transition, and then a previously unrecognized dynamical transition. In the latter, the stretched states persist, but the distribution along a folding coordinate becomes bimodal when conditioned on small end-to-end separation. Large-deviation analysis of a simplified analytical chain model reproduces both transitions and shows that they are phase transitions in the long-chain limit. Single-molecule DNA experiments provide qualitative support for the dynamical transition through the predicted reversal of the folding response.

Written transcripts of the same speech can differ in ways that are not uniquely determined by the speech signal. We formulate evaluation-side transcript canonicalization (ETC), which maps multiple surface forms to a single canonical form when their differences are not determined by speech. To our knowledge, ETC-Bench is the first and most comprehensive multilingual benchmark for evaluation-side transcript canonicalization, covering 181 phenomenon types across 12 languages. Each instance is a minimal pair that shares a sentence context and differs only in a target span exhibiting one phenomenon. To evaluate both canonicalization success and semantic preservation, we propose Semantic-preserving Exact-match Normalization Accuracy (SENA), which combines exact agreement between independently canonicalized pair members with a pair-relative BERTScore constraint against information loss. We further introduce the Taxonomy-guided Agent Canonicalization Skill (TACS), which provides LLM agents with phenomenon descriptions and explicit canonicalization contracts. Experiments with five baseline configurations and three TACS-based agents show that the agents outperform the baseline systems on shared languages. ETC-Bench provides a systematic testbed for evaluation-side transcript canonicalization across languages.

Speech editing for content creation requires precise control over both what an edit should do and where it should apply. Free-form natural language provides a flexible interface for expressing edit requests, but its ambiguity may leave the intended operation, parameters, or target region underspecified. We study a semi-formal transcript-grounded edit instruction that specifies operation categories and parameters and binds them to transcript spans or boundaries. This semantic timeline avoids explicit timestamp alignment and provides an externally inspectable contract for compositional edits. We instantiate the interface in dots$.$tts$.$edit, a speech editing model built on a continuous autoregressive speech generation architecture. Four representative speech-creation controls cover lexical content, affective expression, pitch and speaking-rate delivery, and temporal phrasing through text, emotion, prosody, and pause editing. Task-specific data pipelines construct operation- and scope-controlled pairs while retaining source-derived context outside each target region. We further introduce doteBench, a bilingual benchmark that measures precise instruction following, local preservation, and audio quality across the four controls and their composition. Experiments show leading overall instruction following and local preservation across its five editing categories, while audio quality remains comparable to existing open-source systems. Across three Seed-TTS-Eval shards, the model shows negligible differences from the base model in zero-shot TTS recognition error rate and speaker similarity.

Existing neural 3D representations separately address continuous surface modeling, efficient image synthesis, or object-specific compression. They do not jointly provide the explicit surface queries required by ray tracing and a structured output space that can be predicted across objects. We introduce NeuOctree, a neural explicit representation that directly predicts whether and where a ray intersects a surface, together with its normal and albedo. NeuOctree stores shared features at the corners of sparse octree voxels and interpolates them into a continuous local field. A lightweight decoder with recurrent intersection-guided sampling refines each query near the predicted surface, enabling direct surface rendering without mesh extraction or texture baking and accommodating open, non-watertight geometry. The same octree structure supports both compact per-object optimization and a shared octree CNN that constructs renderable assets from colored point clouds without per-object fitting. Across seven meshes and four storage budgets, NeuOctree achieves the lowest positional error in 24 of 28 comparisons while retaining competitive normal accuracy, and substantially improves joint geometry--appearance reconstruction over N-BVH and VQAD. The feedforward model constructs a representation in 0.05 seconds and transfers from Objaverse to ShapeNet without retraining. We further demonstrate ray-traced rendering and image-conditioned generation, showing that NeuOctree provides a common output space for neural inference and direct surface rendering. Code is available at https://github.com/octree-nn/neural-octree.

Multilingual automatic speech recognition (ASR) has achieved rapid progress with large-scale pretrained models and multilingual speech corpora. Previous studies have proved the pivotal role of data sampling in multilingual ASR performance. However, existing sampling strategies largely rely on time-consuming manual, heuristic-based designs. To address this, we propose a linguistic-aware agentic data sampling framework that introduces a data sampling LLM agent into the multilingual ASR training loop. The agent is driven by a linguistically grounded rubric that analyzes ASR errors from phonological, morphological, and syntactic perspectives, and uses the resulting feedback together with training statistics, budget constraints, and algorithm profiles to select domain-level, sample-level, and token-level sampling strategies. This design turns evaluation results into adaptive data-selection decisions rather than treating WER/CER as final endpoints only. We conduct experiments on twelve Common Voice languages using Whisper-medium as the ASR backbone. The results show that our method achieves performance better than full-data training while using less training data and lower computational resources, and substantially accelerates training convergence compared to conventional sampling strategies.

We introduce the REAL-TSE Challenge, an IEEE SLT 2026 satellite challenge on target speaker extraction~(TSE) from real conversational recordings. Given a multi-speaker mixture and one or more enrollment utterances from a target speaker, participating systems must recover only the target speech. Unlike simulated read-speech benchmarks, REAL-TSE evaluates Mandarin and English recordings that contain natural overlap, reverberation, noise, channel mismatch, and conversational dynamics. The challenge defines two complementary tracks: an Online track for low-latency streaming extraction and an Offline track for full-context processing. Systems are evaluated with Token Error Rate (TER), Speaker Similarity (SpkSim), DNSMOS, and target-speaker activity F1. This overview paper describes the task definition, datasets, baselines, evaluation protocol, submitted systems, condition-wise findings, and lessons for future real-world TSE benchmarks.
Frontier multimodal large language models (MLLMs) can control robots without robot-specific training, but how their capabilities compare and interact with post-trained vision-language-action (VLA) and world action model (WAM) policies across manipulation demands remains to be thoroughly evaluated. In this report, we evaluate GPT-6-Astra on EBench as the core of an agent that controls a robot through an agent harness under the same visual and proprioceptive observation protocol as post-trained policies. We study two agent configurations: direct control, in which the agent generates waypoint commands directly, and harness with policy, in which it can also invoke a post-trained VLA or WAM policy for action execution. Under direct control, the agent achieves competitive overall performance relative to post-trained policies. It leads on short-horizon tasks and exhibits the least performance variation across generalization dimensions, whereas it underperforms post-trained policies on long-horizon tasks, tabletop manipulation, and high-precision contact-rich tasks. In the harness with policy, invoking a post-trained VLA or WAM combines the complementary strengths of both components, raising overall task success to the level of the strongest compared post-trained policies while substantially reducing token cost. However, performance remains below the per-task upper bound of the standalone components due to suboptimal policy invocation, fixed-instruction execution without subgoals, and grasp disruption when the agent resumes control. Overall, our study characterizes the capability boundary of a frontier MLLM agent and suggests directions for improving future agent harness design. While large language models (LLMs) have substantially improved Text-to-SQL generation, a pronounced gap remains between AI systems and human experts on challenging benchmarks such as BIRD-SQL. We argue this gap stems largely from the prevailing single-pass paradigm, which lacks the iterative reasoning, schema exploration, and error-correction behaviors that humans naturally employ. To address this limitation, we introduce SQL-Trail, a multi-turn reinforcement learning (RL) agentic framework for Text-to-SQL. Rather than producing a query in one shot, SQL-Trail interacts with the database environment and uses execution feedback to iteratively refine its predictions. Our approach centers on two key ideas: (i) an adaptive turn-budget allocation mechanism that scales the agent’s interaction depth to match question difficulty, and (ii) a composite reward panel that jointly incentivizes SQL correctness and efficient exploration. Across benchmarks, SQL-Trail sets a new state of the art and delivers strong data efficiency—up to 18× higher than prior single-pass RL state-of-the-art methods. Notably, our 7B and 14B models outperform substantially larger proprietary systems by 5% on average, underscoring the effectiveness of interactive, agentic workflows for robust Text-to-SQL generation.

Recently, AI-driven interactions with computing devices have advanced from basic prototype tools to sophisticated, LLM-based systems that emulate human-like operations in graphical user interfaces. We are now witnessing the emergence of Computer-Using Agents (CUAs), capable of autonomously performing tasks such as navigating desktop applications, web pages, and mobile apps. However, as these agents grow in capability, they also introduce novel safety and security risks. Vulnerabilities in LLM-driven reasoning, with the added complexity of integrating multiple software components and multimodal inputs, further complicate the security landscape. In this paper, we present a systematization of knowledge on the safety and security threats of CUAs. We conduct a comprehensive literature review and distill our findings along four research objectives: (i) define the CUA that suits safety analysis; (ii) categorize current safety threats among CUAs; (iii) propose a comprehensive taxonomy of existing defensive strategies; (iv) summarize prevailing benchmarks, datasets, and evaluation metrics used to assess the safety and performance of CUAs. Building on these insights, our work provides future researchers with a structured foundation for exploring unexplored vulnerabilities and offers practitioners actionable guidance in designing and deploying secure Computer-Using Agents.

Natural language data is inherently noisy, yet standard interpretable models often rely on scalar similarities that obscure the true evidentiary basis of a prediction. This limitation is particularly detrimental to prototype-based classification, where traditional full-alignment mechanisms force non-informative background segments to match informative prototypes, yielding unstable or misleading explanations. To mitigate this, we present SCOUT, a novel paradigm that grounds prototype reasoning in the selective correspondence of discriminative fragments. Concretely, we represent each document as a discrete distribution over span embeddings and employ differentiable Unbalanced Optimal Transport (UOT) to align them with class-specific prototypes. Unlike standard methods, this mechanism enables the model to focus strictly on decisive evidence while leaving irrelevant noise unmatched via geometric mass suppression. To ensure verifiability, we anchor prototype supports to readable training spans, establishing a transparent bridge between input segments and stored knowledge. Comprehensive experiments on seven benchmarks demonstrate that SCOUT yields prototypes focused on semantically significant spans, significantly outperforming traditional rationale extraction and post-hoc attribution methods in terms of faithfulness and stability.

While large language models (LLMs) perform well on table tasks, they still make data referencing errors (DREs), i.e., incorrectly citing or omitting table values, despite understanding the table structure. Beyond final-answer accuracy, DREs directly compromise the correctness and reliability of intermediate reasoning steps. Yet prior studies have only offered limited, small-scale analyses. In this work, we present the first systematic evaluation of tabular data referencing errors across different models and tasks. Our results show that DREs occur across all tested models (1.7B to 20B parameters). Furthermore, we demonstrate that incorporating data referencing as a critic significantly improves answer accuracy up to 12.0%, through critic-based filtering and rejection sampling. Finally, we trained a lightweight 4B-parameter critic model that achieves an average F1 score of 78.2% in detecting both in-distribution and out-of-distribution DREs, and effectively assists inference for larger models.

Large reasoning models (LRMs) achieve strong performance on complex tasks by generating intermediate reasoning before the final answer, yet they remain prone to reasoning hallucinations such as subtle arithmetic or constraint-violation errors. Prior hallucination detectors often rely on external verification or local token-level signals, which are limited for LRMs and largely overlook whether the cross-phase information flow from reasoning to answering is structurally robust. We propose Routing Focus Score (RFS), a step-level indicator that measures how strongly cross-step attention routing aligns with semantic proximity derived from hidden-state cosine similarity. We further design RFS-Guard, a lightweight hallucination detection framework based on RFS. Empirically, we observe that higher reasoning–answer RFS is consistently associated with higher hallucination risk, suggesting a routing-collapse failure mode where models might prefer self-confirmation loops and suppress the ability to audit their own generations. Experimental results across multiple domains and models demonstrate the superiority of RFS-Guard for detecting and localizing hallucinations in LRMs without requiring external tools or repeated sampling.

Olfaction lies at the intersection of chemical structure, neural encoding, and linguistic perception, yet existing representation methods fail to fully capture this pathway. Current approaches typically model only isolated segments of the olfactory pathway, overlooking the complete chain from molecule to receptors to linguistic descriptions. Such fragmentation yields learned embeddings that lack both biological grounding and semantic interpretability. We propose NOSE (Neural Olfactory-Semantic Embedding), a representation learning framework that aligns three modalities along the olfactory pathway: molecular structure, receptor sequence, and natural language description. Rather than simply fusing these signals, we decouple their contributions via orthogonal constraints, preserving the unique encoded information of each modality. To address the sparsity of olfactory language, we introduce a weak positive sample strategy to calibrate semantic similarity, preventing erroneous repulsion of similar odors in the feature space. Extensive experiments demonstrate that NOSE achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance and excellent zero-shot generalization, confirming the strong alignment between its representation space and human olfactory intuition. Function calling significantly extends the application boundary of large language models, where high-quality and diverse training data is critical for unlocking this capability. However, real function-calling data is quite challenging to collect and annotate, while synthetic data generated by existing pipelines tends to lack coverage and accuracy. In this paper, we present ToolACE, an automatic agentic pipeline designed to generate accurate, complex, and diverse tool-learning data. ToolACE leverages a novel self-evolution synthesis process to curate a comprehensive API pool of 26,507 diverse APIs. Dialogs are further generated through the interplay among multiple agents, guided by a formalized thinking process. To ensure data accuracy, we implement a dual-layer verification system combining rule-based and model-based checks. We demonstrate that models trained on our synthesized data, even with only 8B parameters, achieve state-of-the-art performance on the Berkeley Function-Calling Leaderboard, rivaling the latest GPT-4 models. Our model and a subset of the data are publicly available at https://huggingface.co/Team-ACE.
