IMUDINO: Self-distilled Foundation Model for Inertial Sensing

原文摘要

We present IMUDINO, the first foundation model (FM) for inertial sensing to achieve competitive performance across diverse sensing tasks including human activity recognition (HAR), health, motion capture, and odometry. Prior inertial FMs often focus on one subfield of inertial sensing and sometimes underperform state-of-the-art supervised methods (e.g., in HAR), making their scope considerably narrower than FMs for vision and natural language. Moreover, they often require fixed input length and sampling rate, and generalize poorly to unseen sensor locations. To build a general-purpose foundation model for inertial sensing, we adapt the DINO self-supervised learning (SSL) paradigm to inertial data through a set of semantics-preserving motion transformations that simulate variations in motion pattern and sensor setup. For model architecture, we use a plain transformer encoder with frequency-aware positional encoding that natively supports varying input length and sampling rate. This simple setup proved remarkably effective for learning global and dense features generalizable across users, sensor setups, tasks, and, in the case of robot odometry, embodiments. We hope IMUDINO can serve as a backbone for inertial sensing and kickstart the development of general-purpose inertial FMs.

Stacking Stars: Minimum-Area Packing with and without Rotation

原文摘要

We study the problem of packing a given set of polygons into a minimum-area convex container, that is, placing them without overlap so as to minimize the area of their convex hull. Every previously known polynomial-time algorithm with a nontrivial approximation guarantee for packing polygons with arbitrary edge orientations required the polygons to be convex. In fact, an algorithm was not even known when every input polygon was a quadrilateral. We obtain such algorithms for the entire class of star-shaped polygons with unrestricted combinatorial complexity. The stars may be just translated or also rotated. In either case, we give an $O(\log n)$-approximation algorithm, where $n$ is the number of stars. Likewise, we get $O(\log n)$-approximation algorithms for bin and strip packing, assuming that the diameter of the stars is at most some (small) constant. Previous approximation algorithms for polygon packing focused on convex objects, and the analysis always relied on a density argument, i.e., if the area of the packed objects is at least a fraction $ρ$ of the area of the container, then we have a $(1/ρ)$-approximation. However, star-shaped polygons may need an arbitrarily large area to be packed, even when the total area of the stars approaches $0$ and each star has bounded diameter. This phenomenon prevents the use of density arguments. We instead establish a strong structural property about any packing: Even though the stars can fit together in complicated ways, we can reorganize them into simple stacks, replace these stacks by rectangles, and consider a packing of these rectangles. The rearrangement costs only a factor of $O(\log n)$, which stems from the number of size groups. We complement our algorithms by showing that both the translational and the rotational versions are APX-hard, even for constant complexity stars.

Gnomon4D: Learning Where and When to Focus for Geometric Motion-Grounded World-Action Modeling

原文摘要

World-action models (WAMs) predict scene changes to guide robot actions, yet their RGB futures entangle state changes with appearance and lack 3D geometry. Recent WAMs add geometry as a training signal or a control interface, or build native 3D models, but decide what geometry to model rather than how the action should read it. Intuitively, control-relevant cues lie at embodiment--object interactions and their transitions, yet probing existing WAMs reveals that their action attention underweights these interactions in favor of the rest of the embodiment. To focus the action on these interactions, we present Gnomon4D, a WAM that jointly generates future video, robot actions, and GeoDelta, a video-aligned 4D geometric motion field recording the image-plane displacement and depth change of embodiment and object points. With the embodiment and objects in one field, their relative motion, which marks an interaction, can be read off. Guided by this motion and the task, Interaction-Salient Attention (InSAttn) selects where the action reads, and Transition-Anchored Aggregation (TransAgg) selects when, around grasp and release. As GeoDelta encodes surface motion rather than embodiment-specific controls, it serves as a human--robot quasi-action that links action-free pretraining on EgoManip-5000H, which we curate, to robot mid-training on Robot-30H. Gnomon4D leads on RoboTwin~2.0, VLABench, and RoboDojo, and outperforms real-robot baselines, especially under visual shifts. Project page: https://droliven.github.io/Gnomon4D.

SVGFaith: A Two-Layer Meta-Evaluation of Faithfulness Metrics for Text-to-SVG Generation

原文摘要

Text-to-SVG systems are commonly evaluated by applying raster-image metrics to rasterised outputs, yet whether these scores capture fine-grained prompt faithfulness remains unclear. We introduce SVGFaith, a two-layer meta-evaluation framework in which the more faithful candidate of each pair is determined by construction or by human judgment. SVGFaith-Diagnostic contains 1,842 controlled contrastive pairs across eight capability axes, split evenly between two directions: two renderings compared against one prompt, and two descriptions compared against one rendering. SVGFaith-Arena contains 1,327 human-annotated comparisons of real generator outputs. On SVGFaith-Diagnostic, CLIP and three other image--text embedding metrics reach at least 0.789 pairwise accuracy on object identity but at most 0.672 on spatial relations and attribute binding, where chance is 0.5. We further introduce SVGFaith-Score, an interpretable pointwise metric. A domain-tuned decomposer turns each prompt into a dependency graph of atomic visual requirements, a visual question answering model scores whether each requirement is satisfied, and a requirement's score is discounted when its prerequisites score low. In addition to the overall score, the per-requirement scores show which requirements are judged unsatisfied and which inherit discounts from their prerequisites. SVGFaith-Score significantly outperforms all nine baselines, including a Qwen3.5-122B-A10B judge, on Arena and in both Diagnostic directions. Code and data: https://github.com/Yukinonooo/SVGFaith.

StarWorld: A Cross-Layer World Model for Starlink Prediction and Streaming

Bowen Zhang, Pengcheng Luo, Hongjun Xie, Shujin Jia, Genke Yang, Jian Chu

原文摘要

Starlink and other low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite broadband systems exhibit stochastic access dynamics whose effects propagate from network measurements to throughput prediction and adaptive bitrate (ABR) streaming, making reasoning over multiple plausible futures essential. Existing studies mainly characterize realized traces or individual system layers, leaving cross-layer world modeling of these evolving dynamics largely unexplored. To address this gap, we propose StarWorld, a cross-layer world model for Starlink prediction and streaming. StarWorld couples learned stochastic network dynamics with executable prediction, control, and playback processes to imagine multi-step cross-layer futures, while a calibrated Trust Gate determines whether these futures are sufficiently reliable for use. On real Starlink measurements, StarWorld achieves the lowest network-future distributional errors among the comparison methods at the principal horizons and reduces pairwise controller quality-of-experience (QoE) effect error by 76%. These results support StarWorld as a cross-layer imagination environment for studying prediction and streaming outcomes under uncertain Starlink access conditions.

原文摘要

Scientific diagrams help researchers communicate complex methods and relationships, but creating them requires substantial effort in content organization, layout design, and visual refinement. Automated diagram generation can reduce this workload. Reference examples can guide this process by showing how scientific ideas are organized and presented visually. Diagrams from accepted papers provide a rich source of such examples, but their utility as a large-scale reference resource remains underexplored. We introduce DiagramBank, a diagram-text reference resource containing 57,100 scientific diagrams from 26,751 accepted AI/ML papers. Each diagram is paired with its caption, paper title, and abstract, with citing paragraphs included when available. We combine multi-stage filtering, automated checks, and human audits, with an estimated diagram-selection precision of 93.67%. Retrieval experiments show that citing paragraphs complement captions with information specific to individual diagrams. Under a fixed generation pipeline, replacing PaperBanana's curated reference pool with DiagramBank increases the overall PaperBanana score from 4.62 to 7.88 on PaperBananaBench. Retrieved references also outperform random references on BizGenEval scientific figures. Additional evaluations with different judges and renderers, together with a separate blind human evaluation, demonstrate the utility of DiagramBank for automated diagram generation. 原文摘要

Scientific agents collaborate with researchers whose expertise and preferences differ, but benchmarks usually hold the collaborator fixed. We introduce PersonaScienceBench: 200 tasks from five benchmarks across four scientific domains. Simulated researchers provide context and feedback according to persona profiles, while task objectives and grading remain fixed. Agents encounter researcher preferences only through conversation. Across eighteen modelconfigurations, task performance, fact recovery, and self-repetition reveal different strengths. Detailed GPT 6 Astra analyses show distinct agent responses across researcher profiles; interaction traces illustrate targeted clar ification and workflow revision. These behaviors can differ even when final scores match. PersonaScienceBench therefore evaluates how agents collaborate with diverse researchers alongside whether they complete the task.

AdalReID: Auto-selected Knowledge Adapters for Lifelong Person Re-identification

Xuelin Qian, Ruiqi Wu, Zhongling Huang, Dingwen Zhang, Junwei Han

原文摘要

Lifelong Person Re-Identification (LReID) extends traditional ReID by requiring systems to continually learn from non-overlapping datasets across different times and locations, adapting to new identities while preserving knowledge of previous ones. Existing approaches, either rehearsal-free or rehearsal-based, still suffer from the problem of catastrophic forgetting since they try to cram diverse knowledge into one fixed model. To overcome this limitation, we introduce a novel framework AdalReID, that adopts knowledge adapters and a parameter-free auto-selection mechanism for lifelong learning. Concretely, we incrementally build distinct adapters to learn domain-specific knowledge at each step, which can effectively learn and preserve knowledge across different datasets. Meanwhile, the proposed auto-selection strategy adaptively calculates the knowledge similarity between the input set and the adapters. On the one hand, the appropriate adapters are selected for the inputs to process ReID, and on the other hand, the knowledge interaction and fusion between adapters are enhanced to improve the generalization ability of the model. Extensive experiments are conducted to demonstrate the superiority of our AdalReID, which significantly beats SOTAs by about 5\% and 3\% mAP on seen and unseen domains.

原文摘要

Human-robot collaboration requires partners to coordinate interdependent contributions toward a shared goal. Joint Action theory provides concepts for understanding this coordination, but how these concepts are instantiated and combined across empirical research remains fragmented. We conducted a systematic review following PRISMA 2020, identifying 83 empirical papers published between 2021 and 2026. Through theory-driven framework analysis, we organized the literature into nine constructs across three capacities: Representation, Prediction, and Integration. We analyze how these constructs are distributed and co-occur across studies, revealing where empirical evidence concentrates and where it is absent. By mapping empirical HRC research onto a unified Joint Action framework, this review offers a coherent overview of HRC studies, identifies gaps in current evidence, and provides guidelines for future research.

Trace-WAM: Learning to Act via 3D Motion Prediction for World Action Models

Xu Hu, Changjie Wu, Linzhe Shi, Hang Zhang, Chen Yang, Lingjun Zhang, Guowen Zhang, Mu Xu 等 11 位作者

原文摘要

World Action Models (WAMs) learn representations for robot control by coupling future visual prediction with action generation. Successful manipulation depends primarily on how the robot and task-relevant objects evolve, whereas future-video prediction must also reconstruct the appearance and background of the entire scene. We therefore propose Trace-WAM, which augments video-action learning with future 3D motion prediction as an auxiliary objective. This objective supervises temporal point correspondence together with image-plane displacement and depth change, directly describing the interaction dynamics and spatial changes involved in manipulation. To this end, we adopt a three-branch Mixture-of-Transformer (Tri-MoT) architecture to jointly learn video prediction, motion prediction, and action generation. The motion expert predicts future trajectories from current visual features, allowing motion supervision to shape the representations used for action generation. Because the action expert does not consume predicted trajectories, inference retains the current-observation policy path: a single visual forward pass followed by action denoising. Experiments on RoboCasa-GR1, LIBERO, and LIBERO-Plus demonstrate strong in-distribution performance and out-of-distribution generalization, with particularly clear gains over Fast-WAM under limited demonstrations and distribution shifts.

Every Little Helps: Building Knowledge Graph Foundation Model with Fine-grained Transferable Multi-modal Tokens

Yichi Zhang, Zhuo Chen, Lingbing Guo, Wen Zhang, Huajun Chen

原文摘要

Multi-modal knowledge graph reasoning (MMKGR) aims to predict the missing links by exploiting both graph structure information and multi-modal entity contents. Most existing works are designed for a transductive setting, which learns dataset-specific embeddings and struggles to generalize to new KGs. Recent knowledge graph foundation models (KGFMs) improve cross-KG transfer, but they mainly exploit structural patterns and ignore rich multi-modal signals. We address these gaps by proposing a token-based foundation model (TOFU) for MMKGR, which exhibits strong generalization across different MMKGs. TOFU discretizes structural, visual, and textual information into modality-specific tokens. TOFU then employs a hierarchical fusion architecture with mixture-of-message mechanisms, aiming to process these tokens and obtain transferable features for MMKGR. Experimental results on 17 transductive, inductive, and fully-inductive MMKGs show that TOFU generally outperforms strong KGFM and MMKGR baselines, delivering strong performance on unseen MMKGs.

Can LLMs Design Video Coding Tools? A Case Study on Planar Mode

Yingwen Zhang, Meng Wang, Liqiang He, Shiqi Wang

原文摘要

This paper explores whether large language models (LLMs) can design video coding tools, a highly challenging task due to the intricate algorithmic coupling of tool modifications. In particular, we present an empirical case study on the Planar mode, a long-standing intra prediction tool in video coding standards. Our experiments operate within a generation-and-evaluation loop, with the LLM generating new Planar predictors, encoder trials evaluating their coding performance, and the LLM re-generating refined implementations based on the evaluation feedback. We first examine directly replacing the default Planar mode in the Fraunhofer Versatile Video Encoder (VVenC) under its faster preset. Experimental results demonstrate that the LLM-generated mode can outperform the conventional Planar mode on this lightweight toolset, achieving 0.18% bitrate savings with 0.4% complexity overhead on the standard benchmark. We further extend our evaluation to the Enhanced Compression Model (ECM). Leveraging newly introduced directional Planar modes, we investigate two integration strategies: directly replacing them, and introducing the LLM-generated predictor as an additional prediction mode with new syntax elements. The empirical results suggest that both strategies can yield coding gains under a constrained low-resolution setting. Overall, this study offers preliminary evidence and practical insights, highlighting both the potential and open challenges of LLM-based coding tool design.

Any3R: Feedforward 3D Reconstruction from Any Camera Type

Jingong Chen, Qingwen Zhang, Youming Deng, Chulwoo Pack, Olaf Wysocki, Boris Jutzi, Kwanghee Won, Kyle Gao

原文摘要

Geometry foundation models recover camera poses and dense geometry from a set of images with a feed-forward network, but they expect pinhole images. That assumption is inside the backbone too: the positional encoding and the training loss both bind an image position to a direction in space, and both depend on the lens. We condition both on the dense ray field, the unit direction through every pixel, which describes any central camera without a lens type, distortion coefficients or a bound on field of view. Angular coordinates give the rotary encoding the measured ray angle of each patch, evaluated per view, and solid-angle weighting scales the point loss by the area each pixel covers on the sphere, so neither the encoding nor the supervision depends on the lens. Any3R is therefore a feed-forward model that takes any central camera, and is robust to mixing many camera types per scene, with no retraining per lens. On a benchmark of thirteen central cameras across three datasets, where every method reconstructs with its own predicted camera poses, it is the most consistently accurate method. Any3R enables scalable 3D reconstruction from heterogeneous crowdsourced and archival imagery collections sourced across diverse camera types. Project page: https://jingong-chen.github.io/Any3R/

OSWAM: An Effective World Action Model with One-Step Action Generation

Guowen Zhang, Liyi Chen, Xu Hu, Pengfei Wang, Jingfan Chen, Chenhang He, Lei Zhang

原文摘要

Direct-policy World Action Models (WAM) have demonstrated the benefits of decoupling action generation from explicit future visual prediction for efficient inference in autonomous driving and embodied control. However, they still require tens of denoising steps to achieve competitive action quality, incurring substantial latency and hindering real-time deployment. Simply reducing the number of denoising steps will collapse the nonlinear multi-step denoising trajectory into coarse updates, substantially degrading action quality. To reduce the denoising steps while enabling real-time action generation, we present an effective world action model with one-step action generation, namely OSWAM, for autonomous driving and embodied control. We argue that it is the absence of structured action priors in random noise initialization that forces direct-policy WAMs to recover coherent action sequences through iterative denoising. Hence, we construct imagination tokens to initialize the diffusion process, providing physical priors and action-conditioned representations. We further introduce privileged information distillation with future conditioning to enhance future-aware action generation. As a result, OSWAM can efficiently and effectively generate high quality actions in just one diffusion step. Our experiments demonstrate that OSWAM achieves comparable or even better results in both autonomous driving and embodied control than direct-policy WAM and Joint-WAM that require tens of steps. It obtains approximately $3\times$ speedup over direct-policy WAM baselines and supports real-time compiled inference with latency as low as 40ms on an NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPU. The project page is available at https://gwenzhang.github.io/OSWAM/

Shared-Factor-Conditioned Diffusion for Low-Rank Tensor Recovery

Zhengyun Cheng, Guanwen Zhang, Wei Zhou

原文摘要

Tensor recovery spans heterogeneous data structures and observation processes, calling for a representation that can adapt across modalities and tasks. We propose DiffTR, an unsupervised framework that unifies tensor completion, denoising, and hyperspectral super-resolution through coordinate-conditioned diffusion. Shared factors indexed by tensor coordinates condition a compact score network, and score matching jointly learns the factors and an implicit tensor representation from the available observations. Scalar and vector-valued outputs accommodate individual entries and entire tubes, enabling a common formulation for tabular tensors, images, and videos. The framework separates representation learning from task-specific observation modeling: reverse diffusion recovers missing values; estimation via Tweedie's formula, soft thresholding, and optional spatial consistency support mixed-noise denoising; and measurement-guided sampling transfers a prior learned from low-resolution hyperspectral observations to high-resolution reconstruction, followed by post-sampling refinement with data consistency and spectral subspace regularization. This separation makes the representation compatible with different corruption models and permits task-specific constraints to be incorporated within the same recovery framework. Experiments across multiple tensor modalities and recovery tasks demonstrate competitive reconstruction quality and the flexibility of a unified conditional generative representation. PersonaCUABench: Benchmarking Computer-Use Agents Serving Diverse Personas

原文摘要

Computer-use agents (CUAs) are commonly evaluated against fixed task specifications, but users may omit requirements, add constraints, or require approval before consequential actions. Completing the benchmark instruction does not guarantee serving the person who asked. We introduce PersonaCUABench, which holds 74 tasks across 11 domains fixed and varies only who asks. A persona agent, playing one of 44 personas in four groups, rewrites each instruction in that user's own words and answers the CUA's questions, while the CUA sees only the dialogue, never the profile or the original instruction. Across nine backbones (3,330 runs), mean task completion falls by 36% relative to the original requests. The losses have two sources: in 59.9% of cells that lose points, the agent engages with what the user asked for and still gets it wrong, and 11.2% are stops the user requested that the checker scores as failures. Even when a persona request is fully completed, the user gives the top satisfaction rating in only 62.7% of cells, against 84.1% for the original requests. CUAs should therefore be evaluated not only on task completion but also on whether they meet the requirements and constraints users express. Code: https://github.com/MatrAIx-ai/PersonaCUABench. 原文摘要

Generative AI has enabled the creation of photorealistic images and videos that are increasingly disseminated on social media, often used for spam, misinformation, manipulation, and fraud. Existing AI-generated content (AIGC) detection methods face challenges including poor generalization to new generation models, reliance on single modalities, and lack of interpretable explanations. We present our pipeline that mitigates these issues by continuously curating diverse multi-modal social media data and training a compact vision-language model for detection and explanation. Our model achieves state-of-the-art detection performance on public benchmarks and demonstrates robust detection and explanation capabilities on internal social media datasets across multiple platforms. We deployed our model for post recommendation on social media platforms and observed positive downstream impacts on user engagement, demonstrating that it is feasible to perform effective AIGC detection in dynamic, real-world social media environments.

原文摘要

Information-seeking (IS) agents have achieved strong performance across a range of wide and deep search tasks, yet their tool use remains largely restricted to API-level snippet retrieval and URL-based page fetching, limiting access to the richer information available through real browsing. While full browser interaction could unlock deeper capabilities, its fine-grained control and verbose page content returns introduce substantial complexity for ReAct-style function-calling agents. To bridge this gap, we propose Nested Browser-Use Learning (NestBrowse), which introduces a minimal and complete browser-action framework that decouples interaction control from page exploration through a nested structure. This design simplifies agentic reasoning while enabling effective deep-web information acquisition. Empirical results on challenging deep IS benchmarks demonstrate that NestBrowse offers clear benefits in practice. Further in-depth analyses underscore its efficiency.

ASTRA: Adaptive Semantic Tree Reasoning Architecture for Complex Table Question Answering

原文摘要

Table serialization remains a critical bottleneck for Large Language Models (LLMs) in complex table question answering, hindered by challenges such as structural neglect, representation gaps, and reasoning opacity. Existing serialization methods fail to capture explicit hierarchies and lack schema flexibility, while current tree-based approaches suffer from limited semantic adaptability. To address these limitations, we propose ASTRA (Adaptive Semantic Tree Reasoning Architecture) including two main modules, AdaSTR and DuTR. First, we introduce AdaSTR, which leverages the global semantic awareness of LLMs to reconstruct tables into Logical Semantic Trees. This serialization explicitly models hierarchical dependencies and employs an adaptive mechanism to optimize construction strategies based on table scale. Second, building on this structure, we present DuTR, a dual-mode reasoning framework that integrates tree-search-based textual navigation for linguistic alignment and symbolic code execution for precise verification. Experiments on complex table benchmarks demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance.

Temp-R1: A Unified Autonomous Agent for Complex Temporal KGQA via Reverse Curriculum Reinforcement Learning

原文摘要

Temporal Knowledge Graph Question Answering (TKGQA) is inherently challenging, as it requires sophisticated reasoning over dynamic facts with multi-hop dependencies and complex temporal constraints. Existing methods rely on fixed workflows and expensive closed-source APIs, limiting flexibility and scalability. We propose Temp-R1, the first autonomous end-to-end agent for TKGQA trained through reinforcement learning. To address cognitive overload in single-action reasoning, we expand the action space with specialized internal actions alongside external action. To prevent shortcut learning on simple questions, we introduce reverse curriculum learning that trains on difficult questions first, forcing the development of sophisticated reasoning before transferring to easier cases. Our 8B-parameter Temp-R1 achieves state-of-the-art performance on MultiTQ and TimelineKGQA, improving 19.8% over strong baselines on complex questions. Our work establishes a new paradigm for autonomous temporal reasoning agents. The code is available at https://github.com/zjukg/Temp-R1.

From Logical to Computational Sparsity: Structure-Aware Block-Sparse Attention for Long-Code Completion

Yanli Wang, Yanlin Wang Sun Yat-Sen University, Bowen Zhang, Yiwei Zhang, Daya Guo, Jiachi Chen, Hongyu Zhang Chongqing University, Zibin Zheng Sun Yat-sen University

原文摘要

Code Large Language Models face critical Time-To-First-Token (TTFT) latency challenges when handling long code completion due to the quadratic complexity (O(n^2)) of attention mechanisms. While existing sparse attention methods attempt to address this issue, they suffer from three key limitations: (1) general sparse patterns cause excessive accuracy degradation without considering code structure, (2) code-specific methods achieve only logical sparsity without actual computational speedup, and (3) limited adaptation to complex scenarios such as repository-level completion. We propose SabreCoder, a training-free Structure-aware block-sparse attention mechanism that bridges the gap between logical and computational sparsity. SabreCoder parses code into semantic chunks, constructs chunk-level sparse patterns through dependency analysis and similarity matching, and maps them to GPU-friendly block-sparse formats. Extensive experiments on LCC and CrossCodeEval benchmarks demonstrate that SabreCoder reduces TTFT by 45-55% while maintaining accuracy within 3% of dense attention.

原文摘要

Efficiently aligning visual features with Large Language Models (LLMs) remains a critical bottleneck in Multimodal LLMs. Existing query-based alignment modules (e.g., Q-Former) rely on randomly initialized queries, resulting in an inefficient cold start exploration process. Furthermore, they enforce uniform cross-attention across all layers, leading to computational redundancy. Our empirical analysis reveals that query tokens initialized with language priors can rapidly capture global semantics, leading to early representation convergence after only a few layers. In this paper, we propose Cat-MoD, a Caption token Guided Asymmetric Mixture-of-Depths framework. It incorporates a Hybrid Query Construction module where Guide Tokens initialized from coarse-grained linguistic priors rapidly anchor global semantic context, and randomly initialized Explorer Tokens remain active to capture fine-grained visual details. Exploiting this early convergence, we introduce an Asymmetric Mixture-of-Depths mechanism, where a similarity-aware router dynamically prunes redundant tokens from expensive cross-attention layers while preserving their context in self-attention. Experiments on multiple benchmarks demonstrate that Cat-MoD matches or surpasses baseline performance, while substantially reducing alignment FLOPs by approximately 37% during both training and inference, offering a highly efficient solution for multimodal alignment. Collaboration of Fusion and Independence: Hypercomplex-driven Robust Multi-Modal Knowledge Graph Completion

原文摘要

Multi-modal knowledge graph completion (MMKGC) aims to discover missing facts in multi-modal knowledge graphs (MMKGs) by leveraging both structural relationships and diverse modality information of entities. Existing MMKGC methods follow two multi-modal paradigms: fusion-based and ensemble-based. Fusion-based methods employ fixed fusion strategies, which inevitably leads to the loss of modality-specific information and a lack of flexibility to adapt to varying modality relevance across contexts. In contrast, ensemble-based methods retain modality independence through dedicated sub-models but struggle to capture the nuanced, context-dependent semantic interplay between modalities. To overcome these dual limitations, we propose a novel MMKGC method M-Hyper, which achieves the coexistence and collaboration of fused and independent modality representations. Our method integrates the strengths of both paradigms, enabling effective cross-modal interactions while maintaining modality-specific information. Inspired by “quaternion” algebra, we utilize its four orthogonal bases to represent multiple independent modalities and employ the Hamilton product to efficiently model pair-wise interactions among them. Specifically, we introduce a Fine-grained Entity Representation Factorization (FERF) module and a Robust Relation-aware Modality Fusion (R2MF) module to obtain robust representations for three independent modalities and one fused modality. The resulting four modality representations are then mapped to the four orthogonal bases of a biquaternion for comprehensive modality interaction. Extensive experiments indicate its state-of-the-art performance with better robustness.

原文摘要

Mobile GUI agents powered by large foundation models enable autonomous task execution in applications, but frequent updates that alter UI appearance and reorganize workflows cause agents trained on historical data to fail. Despite these surface changes, we observe that functional semantics and task intents remain fundamentally stable. Building on this insight, we introduce MAGNET, a memory-driven adaptive agent framework with dual-level memory: stationary memory that links diverse visual features to stable functional semantics for robust action grounding and procedural memory that captures stable task intents across varying workflows. Furthermore, we propose a dynamic memory evolution mechanism that continuously refines both memories by prioritizing frequently accessed knowledge. Evaluations on the online benchmark AndroidWorld demonstrate substantial improvements over memory-augmented baselines, while offline benchmarks confirm consistent gains under distribution shifts. These results validate that leveraging stable structures across interface changes improves agent performance and generalization in evolving software environments.

Beyond Itinerary Planning—A Real-World Benchmark for Multi-Turn and Tool-Using Travel Tasks

Xiang Cheng Renmin University of China, Yulan Hu Alibaba Group, Xiangwen Zhang, Lu Xu, Lide Tan, Zheng Pan Alibaba Group, Xin Li Alibaba Group, Yong Liu Renmin University of China

原文摘要

Travel planning is a natural real-world task to test large language models’ (LLMs) planning and tool-use abilities. Although prior work has studied LLM performance on travel planning, existing settings still differ from real-world needs, mainly due to limited domain coverage, insufficient modeling of users’ implicit preferences in multi-turn conversations, and a lack of evaluation of agents’ capability boundaries. To mitigate these gaps, we propose \mbox{\textbf{TravelBench}}, a benchmark for \textit{truly real-world} travel planning. We collect user queries, user preferences, and tools from real scenarios, and construct three subtasks—\textit{Single-Turn}, \textit{Multi-Turn}, and \textit{Unsolvable}—to evaluate agents’ three core capabilities in real settings: (1) solving problems independently, (2) interacting with users to elicit implicit preferences, and (3) recognizing the capability boundaries. To enable stable tool invocation and reproducible evaluation, we cache real tool-call results and build a sandbox environment which integrates ten travel-related tools, enabling agents to combine these tools to solve most practical travel planning problems. We evaluate multiple LLMs on TravelBench and find that even advanced models exhibit imbalanced performance across different capabilities. Our further systematic verification demonstrates the stability of the proposed benchmark. TravelBench provides a practical and reproducible benchmark to advance research on LLM agents for real-world travel planning.

ES4R: Speech Encoding Based on Prepositive Affective Modeling for Empathetic Response Generation

Zhuoyue Gao, Xiaohui Wang, Xiaocui Yang Northeastern University, Wen Zhang Northeastern University, Daling Wang, Shi Feng Northeastern University, China, Yifei Zhang

原文摘要

Empathetic speech dialogue requires not only understanding linguistic content but also perceiving rich paralinguistic information such as prosody, tone, and emotional intensity for affective understandings. Existing speech-to-speech large language models either rely on ASR transcription or use encoders to extract latent representations, often weakening affective information and contextual coherence in multi-turn dialogues. To address this, we propose ES4R, a framework for speech-based empathetic response generation. Our core innovation lies in explicitly modeling structured affective context before speech encoding, rather than relying on implicit learning by the encoder or explicit emotion supervision. Specifically, we introduce a dual-level attention mechanism to capture turn-level affective states and dialogue-level affective dynamics. The resulting affective representations are then integrated with textual semantics through speech-guided cross-modal attention to generate empathetic responses. For speech output, we employ energy-based strategy selection and style fusion to achieve empathetic speech synthesis. ES4R consistently outperforms strong baselines in both automatic and human evaluations and remains robust across different Large Language Model (LLM) backbones. 原文摘要

Political user-level stance detection is vital for analyzing polarization, yet progress is hindered by the scarcity of high-quality benchmarks integrating linguistic and social signals. Existing datasets, largely relying on noisy heuristic or distant supervision, limit model robustness and generalizability. To address this, we introduce TwiUSD, a large-scale, expert-annotated benchmark for political user-level stance detection with explicit social network structure. TwiUSD comprises 16,211 users and 47,757 tweets, labeled by domain experts using a protocol that integrates both user content and followee signals, ensuring high-quality annotations (kappa > 0.9). Building upon TwiUSD, we propose MRFG, a Multi-scale Relevance Filtering and Graph-aware framework that leverages large language models to filter stance-relevant followee content and adaptively routes features based on structural informativeness. This design enables robust stance prediction by jointly modeling semantic and relational cues. Extensive experiments show that MRFG significantly outperforms strong baselines, highlighting the importance of relevance filtering and structure-aware modeling.

Don’t Be Misled by Style: A Style-Adaptive Reranker for Capturing Effective Knowledge in Retrieval-Augmented Generation

Ruwen Zhang, Bo Liu, Zhang Sheng Xiang, Yida Chen Southeast University, Hantao Zhao Southeast University, Ding Ding Southeast University, Jiahui Jin Southeast University, Jiuxin Cao Southeast University

原文摘要

Rerankers are critical in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for filtering evidence that enhances the accurate generation of LLMs. With the extension to open-domain scenarios, rerankers are inevitably deployed on mixed-style corpora, whereas most existing rerankers are mainly trained on well-edited texts. A rarely explored issue lies in enabling rerankers to maximally capture the effective knowledge for downstream LLMs without being misled by stylistic features. To address this issue, we propose SARK (Style-Adaptive Reranker with Knowledge Prioritization), a style-augmented multi-task framework that prioritizes effective knowledge over stylistic perturbations. SARK performs multi-granular knowledge mining by using an LLM to derive passage-level supervision on whether a passage helps or harms answer correctness, and list-level relative ranking preferences over candidate passages. It then jointly optimizes the reranker model with passage-level classification and list-level ranking objectives via style-augmented multi-task learning, encouraging the model to focus on the information needed for answering under mixed-style scenarios. Extensive experiments demonstrate that SARK improves generation performance across multiple LLMs under mixed-style conditions.

No More Stale Feedback: Co-Evolving Critics for Open-World Agent Learning

原文摘要

Critique-guided reinforcement learning (RL) has emerged as a powerful paradigm for training LLM agents by augmenting sparse outcome rewards with natural-language feedback. However, current methods often rely on static or offline critic models, which fail to adapt as the policy evolves. In on-policy RL, the agent’s trajectory distribution and error patterns shift over time, causing stationary critics to become stale and providing feedback of diminishing utility. To address this, we introduce ECHO (Evolving Critic for Hindsight-Guided Optimization), a framework that jointly optimizes the policy and critic through a synchronized co-evolutionary loop. ECHO utilizes a cascaded rollout mechanism where the critic generates multiple diagnoses for an initial trajectory, followed by policy refinement to enable group-structured advantage estimation. We address the challenge of learning plateaus via a saturation-aware gain shaping objective, which rewards the critic for inducing incremental improvements in high-performing trajectories. By employing synchronized dual-track GRPO updates, ECHO ensures the critic’s feedback stays synchronized with the evolving policy. Experimental results show that ECHO yields more stable training and higher long-horizon task success across open-world environments.
