WAM-Sim0.1: World Anchored Memory Meets Online RL for Consistent and Realistic Driving Simulation

原文摘要

Autoregressive driving world models systematically suffer from structural drift, identity drift, and quality decay over long rollout horizons due to transient conditioning signals that lack persistent state. We present WAM-Sim, a driving world model anchored by a persistent hierarchical memory and optimized via online flow-matching RL. WAM-Sim structures persistent context across three temporal and semantic scales: pose-aligned structural tokens encoding persistent road topology, read-only scene tokens supplying geolocated background appearance, and write-once instance tokens preserving individual traffic participant identities across occlusions and chunk boundaries. To restore visual sharpness and physical plausibility degraded by multi-scale conditioning, we introduce an online post-training framework that optimizes self-generated rollouts via flow-matching RL guided by hierarchy-aligned visual rewards and a vision-language model physical judge. The invariant memory empirically confines policy optimization within the anchored context, helping suppress semantic collapse and reward hacking, while online RL systematically enforces physical commonsense and fine-grained visual fidelity. On the nuScenes benchmark, WAM-Sim achieves a superior generation fidelity (FID=3.47, FVD=25.72) and strong downstream perception performance (24.16 mAP, 71.23 road mIoU). On minute-scale rollouts of self-collected data, WAM-Sim substantially mitigates structural and identity drift, preserving high scene similarity and subject identity coherence across extended horizons. Compact Motion Embeddings for Feed-forward Unified Human Animation

原文摘要

Animating a reference image with a driver's motion requires a motion representation that captures face, hand, and body articulation but excludes the driver's appearance. Most body animation methods take motion from external pose estimators and render it with many denoising steps; compact learned motion representations mostly cover the face. We present FUHA, a real-time-capable feed-forward transformer that learns a compact motion embedding of the whole human and uses it for face, upper-body, and full-body animation. A Q-Former compresses the driver's features from a frozen visual encoder into this embedding. To disentangle motion from appearance, a novel contrastive loss pulls it toward the motion embedding of the driver's rendered keypoint image and away from that of the same person in another pose. At inference time, FUHA needs no external pose estimators, keypoints, or parametric body models. As a retrieval key, the motion embedding matches body pose better than the learned global embeddings of ten vision encoders. Its same-person retrieval rate is 0.1%, against 9.5% for its own DINOv3 backbone. On our upper-body benchmark, FUHA outperforms all baselines on every self-reenactment metric and on cross-reenactment identity similarity. It is competitive on face and full-body and runs at up to 38.9 FPS at 512x512 on a single RTX 4090.

The Physical Cost of Context: Quality-Constrained Resource Accounting for Coding Agents

Zhongming Yu, Yitong Ma, Hengjia Yu, Boqin Yuan, Xiangye Lin, Hejia Zhang, Jishen Zhao

原文摘要

Coding agents resend a growing context on every model call, and context policies are usually judged by the prompt tokens they save. Executed work also depends on call count and prefix reuse: a caching runtime prefills only the tokens after the longest cached prefix. A shorter prompt can therefore cost more if it rewrites cached history. Our quality-gated protocol splits executed prefill into logical prompt minus reused prefix and measures KV residency, time, and energy. On 450 localization cases derived from SWE-rebench V2, preloading ten retrieved blocks (Eager) and adding anchored history compaction (Compact) both pass a five-point non-inferiority gate. In a separate 900-cell study, Eager cuts model calls by 35.7% and the GPU-energy proxy by 33.2% against on-demand search (Grep); Compact saves nothing further. Enabling prefix caching leaves Eager's prompt volume similar (+8.3%; its 95% CI spans zero) but cuts its uncached prefill by 67.7%. Deleting history can turn a token saving into extra work. With mini-SWE-agent on 100 SWE-bench Verified instances, keeping only the last five observations (Mask-5) cuts Eager's prompt volume by 33.3% but loses 135.9k reusable tokens per task. Uncached prefill rises by 608.5%, the energy proxy by 125.6%, and the policy misses the quality gate. Policies thus save physical work by shortening the trajectory and can multiply it by editing reusable history.

EvoGuard: Mitigating Degradation in Online Skill Evolution

Yanli Wang, Zichen Bai, Tianyue Jiang, Kunming Shao, Junhao Shi, Xueqin Liu, Jinguo Sun, Muye Li 等 15 位作者

原文摘要

Skills let language agents reuse experience across tasks as natural-language documents. Recent work evolves skills from interaction, but existing methods have limitations when skills evolve online. Prior methods update a skill offline from a batch of trajectories collected over many tasks. Some then adopt the new skill without any check, which can degrade the skill over time. Others keep it only if it improves performance on a held-out validation set, which is too slow and costly to run after every update. We introduce EvoGuard, a pairwise skill selector that mitigates skill degradation at low latency and cost. We first run the agent iteratively to build pools of skills and score each skill on a private test set to obtain utility labels. We pair the skills and use rejection sampling to keep only pairs with a clear utility gap. The selector is trained on the logits of two label tokens to pick the better skill. At deployment it decides in a single forward pass, which is significantly faster than evaluation on the private test set. Compared with adopting every new skill, EvoGuard improves success by 11.0% on ALFWorld, 5.9% on ScienceWorld, and 2.7% on LiveCodeBench.

Large Language Model-Assisted Adaptive Heuristic Search for Agile Earth Observation Satellite Scheduling

He Wang, Yeye Liu, Ruijie Li, Xuemei Jiang, Junyu Wu, Lining Liu Zhuoqi Man, Tao Li, Yanjie Song

原文摘要

Agile Earth observation satellites must coordinate imaging tasks within limited observation windows, while accounting for attitude maneuvering and onboard energy constraints. Competition among observation opportunities makes scheduling performance sensitive to the heuristic rules used for task selection. This letter proposes a large language model (LLM)-assisted adaptive heuristic search method for agile Earth observation satellite scheduling. The LLM generates an initial heuristic rule according to the characteristics of the scheduling instance. During the subsequent ant colony search, search performance and scheduling information are fed back to the LLM to refine the heuristic rule. The proposed modifications are evaluated through paired solution constructions before being incorporated into the search process. A unified scheduling procedure determines task selection, satellite assignment, and observation timing under the operational constraints. Experiments on six scheduling scenarios involving 50--200 imaging tasks demonstrate that the proposed method achieves 4.3\%--9.6\% higher mean observation benefit than the strongest baseline.

Li$^{2}$SAO: Lifting Light Single-Rollout Asynchronous RL Optimization via Group-Relative Actor-Critic Bootstrapping

Zichen Bai, Yanli Wang, Yang Liu, Junhao Shi, Xueqin Liu, Jinguo Sun, Muye Li, Shaoqiang Zheng 等 12 位作者

原文摘要

Asynchronous reinforcement learning (RL) is becoming a mainstream paradigm for post-training large language models (LLMs), as it improves training efficiency by updating the model as rollouts arrive. Recent work argues that group-wise sampling in GRPO does not naturally fit asynchronous RL training because rollout lengths follow a long-tailed distribution, and proposes Single-rollout Asynchronous Optimization (SAO) to improve stability and off-policy behavior, especially on agentic tasks. However, SAO relies on a closed-source value model obtained from scaling value pretraining. In this paper, we analyze GRPO and LiSAO, our lightweight reproduction of SAO without the pretrained value model, on single-turn reasoning and multi-turn agentic tasks. We find that GRPO outperforms LiSAO on reasoning tasks, while the reverse holds on agentic tasks. Since the value model of LiSAO is not yet well trained , LiSAO lags behind GRPO substantially in early training steps. To address this issue, we propose Li$^{2}$SAO, which Lifts Light Single-rollout Asynchronous Optimization with group-relative actor-critic bootstrapping: while the critic is cold, a group-relative advantage trains the actor and a group-centered return trains the critic, after which training switches to single-rollout GAE. Experiments show that Li$^{2}$SAO catches up with or surpasses GRPO in early training and further raises the later performance ceiling. Code is available at https://github.com/jd-cc-coder/Li2SAO.

Toward Executable Multi-framework Front-end Code Generation with Self-Correction

Linxiao Li, Haoran Ma, Chenyue Wang, Jiaye Lin, Haochen Sui, Jiechao Gao

原文摘要

Generating codes from UI screenshots has recently benefited from MLLMs, yet existing methods centered on HTML targets and transfer poorly to multi-frameworks such as React, Vue, and Angular. However, unlike HTML, which does not entail compilation issues, generating executable code in multi-framework settings is more challenging due to framework-specific differences in syntax and failure modes, as well as the need to maintain global consistency across files. To address this problem, we study executable multi-framework front-end code generation and propose MESCoder, a tree-structured self-corrective generation framework. Our method first extracts a structural scaffold from the screenshot and then constructs sub-trees and assembly relations step by step, transforming large project generation into a sequence of localized decisions. On top of this scaffold, we introduce a unified Project Agent that continuously revises its own partial project under runtime sandbox feedback and dynamically chooses between local repair and cluster level repair. For training, we adopt a two-stage strategy that first initializes the policy offline to learn basic multi-framework generation and repair priors, and then refines it with online reinforcement learning to optimize long horizon executability and final page quality. The resulting framework models multi-framework executability as a conditioned project state transition process and improves the stability and quality of complex front end generation through self correction. Experiments show that our method improves executability, while narrowing the visual-fidelity gap to HTML-based generation. Code is available at https://github.com/leo-lilinxiao/MESCoder.

H$^2$R: Hierarchical Hint-Based Reward for Mathematical Reasoning via Reinforcement Learning

He Tu, Siye Li, Hongyi Wen

原文摘要

Reinforcement Learning with Verifiable Rewards has shown great promise in enhancing mathematical reasoning in large language models. However, existing approaches provide limited intermediate supervision for complex, multi-step reasoning tasks. To bridge this gap, we propose \textbf{Hierarchical Hint-based Reward}, a framework that leverages the intrinsic sub-question structure of mathematical problems as structured intermediate conditioning signals during RLVR training. Unlike chain-of-thought prompting, these hierarchical hints serve as logically grounded intermediate milestones that effectively reduce the reasoning horizon toward the final answer. To validate this framework, we introduce \textbf{HiMath}, a benchmark of hierarchically structured mathematical problems. Across diverse LLMs, hierarchical hints consistently improve reasoning performance even without task-specific training. When integrated into RL training via H$^2$R, they boost Qwen2.5-Math-7B accuracy on HiMath from 30.4\% to 39.1\% using hierarchical hints, and up to 45.6\% with Oracle Hierarchical Hints. This pronounced improvement demonstrates that incorporating reliable intermediate checkpoints into reward design is essential for sustaining complex mathematical reasoning.

Exponential-Nemytskii Neural Operators: Learning Field Evolution Across Step Sizes

Jingye Li, Jinglai Li

原文摘要

In variable-step operator learning, agreement at observed step sizes does not by itself determine predictions at other temporal resolutions. We propose an operator whose step-size dependence is prescribed by a first-order Duhamel approximation of semilinear dynamics. It combines exact linear propagation with a local nonlinear function of the field and its derivatives, allowing evaluation below the observation interval without supervision densely sampled across step sizes. Under suitable conditions and at fixed spatial resolution, we prove that agreement between models at two step sizes controls their prediction differences throughout a prescribed range. We also give conditions for local identifiability of both components from two step sizes, supporting interpretation of the learned structure. A latent extension applies the same construction to learned fields. We evaluate the base model on two synthetic problems and the extension on two real datasets against several baselines.

TS-DP: Reinforcement Speculative Decoding For Temporal Adaptive Diffusion Policy Acceleration

Ye Li, Jiahe Feng, Yuan Meng, Kangye Ji, Chen Tang, Jiajun Fan, Xinwan Wen, Jiawei Li 等 12 位作者

原文摘要

Diffusion Policy (DP) excels in embodied control but suffers from high inference latency and computational cost due to multiple iterative denoising steps. Existing diffusion model (DMs) acceleration methods improve inference speed by reducing computational overhead, as DMs for image generation are computation-bound. In this work, we reveal that DP are I/O bound, and thus propose using speculative decoding, a parallel computing framework, to accelerate DP for the first time. However, it is non-trivial to address the following challenges: (1) How to preserve the denoising quality of the base model at reduced computational cost under time-varying task difficulty in embodied settings; and (2) How to dynamically allocate computation according to task difficulty in such environments. Therefore, we propose Temporal-aware Reinforcement-based Speculative Diffusion Policy (TS-DP), the first framework that enables speculative decoding for DP with temporal adaptivity. First, to handle dynamic environments where task difficulty varies over time, we distill a Transformer-based drafter to imitate the base model and replace its costly denoising calls. Second, an RL-based scheduler further adapts to the time-varying task difficulty by adjusting speculative parameters to maintain accuracy while improving efficiency. Extensive experiments show that TS-DP achieves up to a 4.17x NFE reduction and a 3.2x wall-clock speedup with a draft acceptance rate of over 85% in simulation. Real-world experiments further demonstrate a 3.8x NFE reduction while improving success rates on real-time tasks (e.g., a 23% gain on the conveyor-belt task), reaching an inference frequency of 26 Hz and enabling real-time control while maintaining comparable task performance. The code is available at https://github.com/ChildTang/TS-DP.

GUIFlow: Temporal Redundancy-Aware Incremental Inference for GUI Agents

Ye Li, Haoran Ding, Huanan Liu, Yuan Meng, Yutian Shen, Yuansong Wang, Kangye Ji, Hanyun Cui 等 13 位作者

原文摘要

GUI agents built on vision-language models interact with continuously evolving interfaces, yet conventional inference repeatedly recomputes representations of largely overlapping observations and histories. This mismatch makes multi-step interaction costly, while changes in context, interface content, and action arguments prevent straightforward cache reuse. We introduce GUIFlow, a framework for full-pipeline incremental inference in multi-image GUI interaction. Our central insight is that advancing a decision need not require rebuilding all supporting representations: each interaction step can instead selectively update computational states maintained across the trajectory. To support new decisions as the context evolves, GUIFlow adapts how past computation is reused: historical KV states are position-aligned and injected into the current context; change signals guide selective updates of current-observation states in the vision encoder and language model; and earlier action responses serve as speculative drafts verified by the target model. Together, these mechanisms enable cross-step reuse throughout visual encoding, prefill, and decoding without additional training, a separate draft model, or changes to the model-visible inputs and action interface. Experiments demonstrate up to 3.39x geometric-mean speedup across offline multi-image benchmarks and up to 3.49x in online, closed-loop interaction on OSWorld, while maintaining task performance broadly comparable to the dense baseline.

Proximity-Based Multi-Turn Optimization: Practical Credit Assignment for LLM Agent Training

Yangyi Fang, Jiaye Lin, Xiaoliang Fu, Cong Qin, Haolin Shi, Chang Liu

原文摘要

Multi-turn LLM agents are becoming pivotal to production systems, spanning customer service automation, e-commerce assistance, and interactive task management, where accurately distinguishing high-value informative signals from stochastic noise is critical for sample-efficient training. In real-world scenarios, a failure in a trivial task may reflect random instability, whereas success in a high-difficulty task signifies a genuine capability breakthrough. Yet, existing group-based policy optimization methods rigidly rely on statistical deviation within discrete batches, frequently misallocating credit when task difficulty fluctuates. To address this issue, we propose Proximity-based Multi-turn Optimization (ProxMO), a practical and robust framework engineered specifically for the constraints of real-world deployment. ProxMO integrates global context via two lightweight mechanisms: success-rate-aware modulation dynamically adapts gradient intensity based on episode-level difficulty, while proximity-based soft aggregation derives baselines through continuous semantic weighting at the step level. Extensive evaluations on ALFWorld and WebShop benchmarks demonstrate that ProxMO yields substantial performance gains over existing baselines with negligible computational cost. Ablation studies further validate the independent and synergistic efficacy of both mechanisms. Crucially, ProxMO offers plug-and-play compatibility with standard GRPO frameworks, facilitating immediate, low-friction adoption in existing industrial training pipelines. Our implementation is available at: https://github.com/GithubX-F/ProxMO-RL.

原文摘要

Deep search agents that combine large language models with retrieval tools excel at complex, multi-hop queries. Yet, existing benchmarks such as BrowseComp rely on black-box web search APIs, facing key limitations. (1) Fairness: for agents, dynamic and opaque web APIs hinder reproducibility and fair comparisons across agents. (2) Disentanglement: for retrieval, the lack of a fixed document corpus makes it impossible to isolate retriever contributions from end-to-end search agent accuracy. We introduce BrowseComp-Plus, a benchmark derived from BrowseComp that employs a fixed, human-verified corpus, enabling controlled retrieval for deep search agents. BrowseComp-Plus clearly distinguishes agent performance: with a BM25 retriever, the open-source Search-R1 achieves 3.86% accuracy, while GPT-5 achieves 55.9%. Additionally, BrowseComp-Plus makes retrieval gains explicit: pairing GPT-5 with Qwen3-Embedding-8B retriever further improves accuracy to 70.1% while reducing search calls. Overall, BrowseComp-Plus provides a fair and disentangled testbed, advancing both deep search agent evaluation and retrieval research for agentic search. 原文摘要

Medical large Vision-Language Models (Med-LVLMs) have shown strong potential in multimodal clinical applications such as medical visual question answering and report generation. However, Med-LVLMs remain challenged by hallucinations caused by modality misalignment, where models prioritize textual knowledge over visual evidence and generate outputs that conflict with medical images. To mitigate this issue, recent studies have explored preference optimization to improve image–text alignment, achieving promising results. Despite these advances, existing preference-based methods still face two limitations in medical settings: (1) overfitting to superficial cues, and (2) pseudo convergence of the preference signal. In this paper, we propose Dynamic Evidence-Guided Preference Optimization (DEPO), a new framework that enables evidence-aware and adaptive preference learning for Med-LVLMs. DEPO introduces Multi-Modal Evidence Perturbation (MEP) to suppress non-causal textual and visual shortcuts, and Dispreferred Evidence Resampling (DER) to continuously update dispreferred responses as hallucination patterns evolve. Experiments on multiple medical VQA and report generation benchmarks demonstrate consistent improvements over existing methods, with strong robustness across datasets and architectures. All Codes and data will be released after review.

原文摘要

Existing Reinforcement Learning with Verifiable Rewards (RLVR) algorithms, such as GRPO, rely on rigid, uniform, and symmetric trust region mechanisms that are fundamentally misaligned with the complex optimization dynamics of Large Language Models (LLMs). In this paper, we identify three critical challenges in these methods: (1) inefficient gradient utilization caused by the binary cutoff of hard clipping, (2) insensitive probability mass arising from uniform ratio constraints that ignore the token distribution, and (3) asymmetric signal reliability stemming from the disparate credit assignment ambiguity between positive and negative samples. To bridge these gaps, we propose Mass-Adaptive Soft Policy Optimization (MASPO), a unified framework designed to harmonize these three dimensions. MASPO integrates a differentiable soft Gaussian gating to maximize gradient utility, a mass-adaptive limiter to balance exploration across the probability spectrum, and an asymmetric risk controller to align update magnitudes with signal confidence. Extensive evaluations demonstrate that MASPO serves as a robust, all-in-one RLVR solution, significantly outperforming baselines. Our code is available at: https://github.com/FlyTune/MASPO-RL.

From \log \pi to \pi: Taming Divergence in Soft Clipping via Bilateral Decoupled Decay of Probability Gradient Weight

原文摘要

Reinforcement Learning with Verifiable Rewards (RLVR) has catalyzed a leap in Large Language Model (LLM) reasoning, yet its optimization dynamics remain fragile. Standard algorithms like GRPO enforce stability via “hard clipping”, which inadvertently stifles exploration by discarding gradients of tokens outside the trust region. While recent “soft clipping” methods attempt to recover these gradients, they suffer from a critical challenge: relying on log-probability gradient (\nabla_\theta\log \pi_\theta) yields divergent weights as probabilities vanish, destabilizing LLM training. We rethink this convention by establishing probability gradient (\nabla_\theta \pi_\theta) as the superior optimization primitive. Accordingly, we propose Decoupled Gradient Policy Optimization (DGPO), which employs a decoupled decay mechanism based on importance sampling ratios. By applying asymmetric, continuous decay to boundary tokens, DGPO resolves the conflict between stability and sustained exploration. Extensive experiments across DeepSeek-R1-Distill-Qwen series models (1.5B/7B/14B) demonstrate that DGPO consistently outperforms strong baselines on various mathematical benchmarks, offering a robust and scalable solution for RLVR. Our code and implementation are available at: https://github.com/FlyTune/DGPO-RL.

原文摘要

Model Editing, also known as knowledge editing, is receiving increasing attention in the field of Large Language Models (LLMs). However, existing model editing approaches predominantly focus on knowledge-level or static visual domains, overlooking dynamic semantics. This paper exploratively applies six representative model editing methods (FT, IKE, MEND, SERAC, MEMIT and AlphaEdit) to Video Large Language Models (Vid-LLMs) and introduces the first benchmark specifically designed for Vid-LLMs editing—VMEB (Vid-LLMs Model Editing Benchmark)—systematically extending model editing research from static modalities to dynamic video scenarios. We position this work as a forward-looking benchmark and a foundational diagnostic study: in the video paradigm, our evaluation dimensions encompass traditional metrics including Reliability, Locality, and Generality, while also introducing a video-specific metric: Robustness. Based on experimental results, we analyze the strengths and limitations of existing model editing approaches, and identify new challenges and research directions for the future development of the model editing field within the context of multimodal and video paradigms. Our benchmark is available at https://github.com/Sakabamrisa/VMEB.

JPU: Bridging Jailbreak Defense and Unlearning via On-Policy Path Rectification

原文摘要

Despite extensive safety alignment, Large Language Models (LLMs) often fail against jailbreak attacks. While machine unlearning has emerged as a promising defense by erasing specific harmful parameters, current methods remain vulnerable to diverse jailbreaks. We first conduct an empirical study and discover that this failure mechanism is caused by jailbreaks primarily activating non-erased parameters in the intermediate layers. Further, by probing the underlying mechanism through which these circumvented parameters reassemble into the prohibited output, we verify the persistent existence of dynamic jailbreak paths and show that the inability to rectify them constitutes the fundamental gap in existing unlearning defenses. To bridge this gap, we propose Jailbreak Path Unlearning (JPU), which is the first to rectify dynamic jailbreak paths towards safety anchors by dynamically mining on-policy adversarial samples to expose vulnerabilities and identify jailbreak paths. Extensive experiments demonstrate that JPU significantly enhances jailbreak resistance against dynamic attacks while preserving the model’s utility.

"Newspaper Eat" Means "Not Tasty": A Taxonomy and Benchmark for Coded Language in Real-World Chinese Online Reviews

Ruyuan Wan Pennsylvania State University, Changye Li University of Washington, Ting-Hao Kenneth Huang

原文摘要

Coded language is an important part of human communication. It refers to cases where users intentionally encode meaning so that the surface text differs from the intended meaning and must be decoded to be understood. Current language models handle coded language poorly. Progress has been limited by the lack of real-world datasets and clear taxonomies. This paper introduces CodedLang, a dataset of 7,744 Chinese Google Maps reviews, including 900 reviews with span-level annotations of coded language. We developed a seven-class taxonomy that captures common encoding strategies, including phonetic, orthographic, and cross-lingual substitutions. We benchmarked language models on coded language detection, classification, and review rating prediction. Results show that even strong models can fail to identify or understand coded language. Because many coded expressions rely on pronunciation-based strategies, we further conducted a phonetic analysis of coded and decoded forms. Our code and dataset are publicly available. Together, our results highlight coded language as an important and underexplored challenge for real-world NLP systems.

Cognitive Alpha Mining via LLM-Driven Code-Based Evolution

原文摘要

Discovering effective predictive signals, or “alphas,” from financial data with high dimensionality and extremely low signal-to-noise ratio remains a difficult open problem. Despite progress in deep learning, genetic programming, and, more recently, large language model (LLM)–based factor generation, existing approaches still explore only a narrow region of the vast alpha search space. Neural models tend to produce opaque and fragile patterns, while symbolic or formula-based methods often yield redundant or economically ungrounded expressions that generalize poorly. Although different in form, these paradigms share a key limitation: none can conduct broad, structured, and human-like exploration that balances logical consistency with creative leaps. To address this gap, we introduce the Cognitive Alpha Mining Framework (CogAlpha), which combines code-level alpha representation with LLM-driven reasoning and evolutionary search. Treating LLMs as adaptive cognitive agents, our framework iteratively refines, mutates, and recombines alpha candidates through multi-stage prompts and financial feedback. This synergistic design enables deeper thinking, richer structural diversity, and economically interpretable alpha discovery, while greatly expanding the effective search space.Experiments on 5 stock datasets from 3 stock markets demonstrate that CogAlpha consistently discovers alphas with superior predictive accuracy, robustness, and generalization over existing methods. Our results highlight the promise of aligning evolutionary optimization with LLM-based reasoning for automated and explainable alpha discovery.

原文摘要

The efficiency of long-video inference remains a critical bottleneck, mainly due to the dense computation in the prefill stage of Large Multimodal Models (LMMs). Existing methods either compress visual embeddings or apply sparse attention on a single GPU, yielding limited acceleration or degraded performance and restricting LMMs from handling longer, more complex videos. To overcome these issues, we propose APB-V, a sequence-parallel framework with optimized attention that accelerates long-video inference across multiple GPUs. By distributing approximate attention, APB-V reduces computation and increases parallelism, enabling efficient processing of more visual embeddings without compression and thereby improving task performance. System-level optimizations, such as load balancing and fused forward passes, further unleash the potential of APB-V, delivering speedups of 12.72x, 1.70x, and 1.18x over FlashAttn, ZigZagRing, and APB, without notable performance loss.

原文摘要

Deep-Research agents, which integrate large language models (LLMs) with search tools, have shown success in improving the effectiveness of handling complex queries that require iterative search planning and reasoning over search results. Evaluations on current benchmarks like BrowseComp relies on black-box live web search APIs, have notable limitations in (1) fairness: dynamic and opaque web APIs hinder fair comparisons and reproducibility of deep research methods; (2) transparency: lack of control over the document corpus makes it difficult to isolate retriever contributions. In other words, the current evaluations may compare a complete deep research system at a given time, but they do not foster well-controlled experiments to provide insights into the capability of underlying deep research LLMs. To address these challenges, we introduce BrowseComp-Plus, a benchmark derived from BrowseComp, employing a fixed, carefully curated corpus. Each query in BrowseComp-Plus includes human-verified supporting documents and mined challenging negatives, enabling controlled experimentation. The benchmark is shown to be effective in distinguishing the performance of deep research systems. For instance, the open-source model Search-R1, when paired with the BM25 retriever, achieves 3.86% accuracy, whereas the GPT-5 achieves 55.9%. Integrating the GPT-5 with the Qwen3-Embedding-8B retriever further enhances its accuracy to 70.1% with fewer search calls. This benchmark allows comprehensive evaluation and disentangled analysis of deep research agents and retrieval methods, fostering insights into retrieval effectiveness, citation accuracy, and context engineering in Deep-Research system.
