面向涌现推理特性的上下文感知自回归图像生成

Context-Aware Autoregressive Image Generation for Emerging Reasoning Properties

AI 速览:提出上下文感知的自回归图像生成框架,让模型依据全局上下文与当前局部信息动态决定下一个 token 的位置,而非固定或随机顺序。

Autoregressive image generation has recently emerged as a competitive visual generation paradigm, yet its generation order is often predefined or heuristic, such as next-patch prediction, random-order prediction, or one-step generation for specific scales. We observe that these strategies can cause models to overlook important structural dependencies in images, thereby limiting both structural robustness and reasoning capability. In this work, we propose a context-aware autoregressive generation framework, where the model dynamically determines the next token location based on global context and current local information. Rather than following a fixed or random order, our method allows the generation process to adapt to image structure and semantic dependencies. Extensive experiments show that context-aware generation significantly improves structural robustness across different image AR paradigms, including masked autoregressive and scale-wise autoregressive models. Beyond quantitative improvements, we further observe emerging reasoning properties: the model can better understand complex semantic instructions and generate images that more faithfully follow the given guidance. These findings suggest that generation order is a critical yet underexplored factor in image autoregressive modeling, and that context-aware decoding can unlock stronger reasoning-aware visual generation capabilities. D3D: Decoupled Diffusion Drafting for Asynchronous Speculative Decoding

Baoyou Chen, Ruiqiao Mei, Guancong Lin, Tao Song, Weihao Yuan, Qun Liu, Siyu Zhu

Target-conditioned diffusion drafters predict candidate tokens in parallel, yet each new block must wait for updated target-model hidden states. This forces drafting and verification to run sequentially, limiting speedup even though each block is generated in one pass. We introduce D3D, a standalone diffusion drafter that removes this inter-round dependency. D3D combines blockwise denoising with auxiliary autoregressive supervision to achieve long accepted prefixes without target hidden states. This independence lets D3D draft successor blocks during verification in one packed pass, enabling asynchronous speculative decoding. We progressively prune layers according to their effect on acceptance length to reduce the cost of packed drafting. Removing five of 36 layers retains over 99\% of mean acceptance length across three benchmarks with Qwen3-8B as the target. Across seven benchmarks, D3D averages 5.00$\times$ and 5.71$\times$ decoding speedup with Qwen3-8B and Qwen3-32B targets, compared with 4.03$\times$ and 3.67$\times$ for DFlash. On GSM8K with Qwen3-32B, speedup reaches 7.48$\times$. Code is publicly available at https://github.com/fudan-generative-vision/D3D.

Unaligned Image Guided Denoising via Cross-modal Conditional Flow Matching

Runmin Zhang, Linshan Li, Si-Yuan Cao, Zhu Yu, Lingyu Zhu, Huaqi Zhang, Hui-Liang Shen

This work presents UGD-FM, a novel unaligned image guided denoising framework based on cross-modal conditional flow matching. Unlike previous approaches that assume spatially aligned inputs or only handle small-baseline rectified pairs, we address a more challenging setting where severe target noise and large-range two-dimensional cross-modal misalignment coexist. Specifically, we formulate guided denoising as a progressive flow matching process, allowing image restoration and aligned guidance aggregation to mutually reinforce each other. To support efficient few-step inference, we introduce a stage-focused and inference-consistent training strategy that focuses on task-critical denoising stages, and mitigates the training-inference mismatch. We further propose adaptive sparse guidance propagation for efficient and reliable large-range matching, regularized by perceptual and geometric auxiliary losses. Experiments demonstrate that UGD-FM achieves state-of-the-art denoising performance with only one or two inference steps, and is compatible with modern single-image restoration backbones.

Learning When to Think Aloud in Latent Reasoning

Zhehao Zhou, Tongrui Su, Shengyu Zhu, Da Li, Zeyu Liu, Jun Zhu, Xueqi Cheng

Latent Chain-of-Thought (CoT) reasoning improves efficiency by shifting intermediate computation into continuous hidden states. However, fully latent methods often struggle on precision-critical tasks such as mathematical reasoning, while existing hybrid approaches retain substantial token-generation overhead. We introduce VITAL, an importance-guided hybrid reasoning framework that selectively verbalizes informative tokens as reasoning anchors while keeping most computation latent. A lightweight gating head dynamically selects between explicit token generation and direct hidden-state feedback. VITAL constructs hybrid trajectories from explicit CoT using token- importance estimation and trains the model through curriculum-based supervised training, followed by reinforcement learning with a reward that balances correctness and conciseness. Experiments show that VITAL consistently out- performs existing fully latent reasoning methods, achieving relative average accuracy gains of 9.6% on GPT-2 and 5.1% on Llama-3.2-1B at comparable reasoning lengths. Compared with hybrid baselines, VITAL achieves higher reasoning accuracy with substantially shorter reasoning trajectories on Qwen3-1.7B.

ReMoA: Recursive Modular Adaptation via Sparse Latent Refinement in Multimodal Diffusion Models

Yuwei Sun, Yuxuan Yao, Hui Li, Weihao Yuan, Siyu Zhu

Diffusion models have achieved success in high-fidelity data synthesis, yet their capacity for more complex, structured reasoning such as text following remains constrained. While advances in language models have leveraged strategies such as latent reasoning and recursion to enhance text understanding capabilities, extending these to multimodal text-to-image generation tasks is challenging due to the continuous and non-discrete nature of visual tokens. To tackle this problem, we draw inspiration from modular human cognition and propose a Recursive Modular Adaptation (ReMoA) framework integrated into joint attention layers of conventional diffusion models, iteratively refining visual tokens over multiple recursion steps while efficiently sharing parameters via sparse selection of neural modules. Comprehensive evaluations on both class-conditioned ImageNet generation and text-to-image generation using the GenEval and DPG benchmarks demonstrate that recursive visual latent refinement contributes to richer object details and better-aligned outputs. Additionally, visual latent trajectory and routing analyses reveal that neural modules learn to specialize across diffusion timesteps, with each module's trajectories diverging at later, low-noise steps to support context-adaptive refinement. ReMoA increases recall for DiT-XL from 0.57 to 0.62 on ImageNet, and improves the overall GenEval score for SD3-medium from 68.33% to 71.18%, without introducing additional parameters through recursion.

Bidirectional Centered Score Matching for Discrete Diffusion Distillation

Peng Tu, Baoyou Chen, Haoyuan Xia, Zilong Dong, Weihao Yuan, Siyu Zhu

Discrete diffusion models with parallel decoding are often distilled using token-wise KL objectives. Although token-wise KL exactly matches the corresponding product-form block distributions, its probability-space optimization geometry and teacher-only candidate truncation may provide insufficient supervision under aggressive few-step distillation. Concrete Score Matching (CSM) provides an alternative within-position objective by aligning relative logit geometry, but its complete pairwise form incurs \mathcal{O}(|\mathcal{V}|^2) complexity. We propose Bidirectional Centered Score Matching (BCSM), an efficient within-position distillation objective that constructs an \mathcal{O}(K) bidirectional active set, reduces pairwise comparisons to \mathcal{O}(K^2), and factorizes them into an \mathcal{O}(K) objective. We further introduce cross-timestep transition alignment. Experiments demonstrate strong quality--efficiency trade-offs, including up to 6\times NFE reduction with a 16.9\% relative HumanEval gain and a 15.1\% relative MMMU gain at single-step inference.

PersonaCodeBench: Evaluating Coding Agents in Persona-driven Human-Interactive Sessions

Haixin Wang, Jianheng Hou, Hongyu Shen, Wenzhe Fan, Wei-Chieh Huang, Qianyu Zhu, Weichen Li, Taoran Li 等 30 位作者

Coding agents must deliver correct software while respecting users' expertise, preferences, and working conditions. Existing benchmarks increasingly incorporate interaction, yet personalized requirement fulfillment remains underexplored. We introduce PersonaCodeBench, which turns user characteristics into verifiable obligations in persona-driven multi-turn coding sessions. Our persona pool spans roles, technical abilities, interaction preferences, and practical constraints, yielding task-grounded evolved requirements for implementation, permissions, testing, explanation, and delivery. At runtime, a controller governs user simulator responses and requirement disclosure, using online requirement evaluation to provide feedback and advance the interaction. Requirements emerge progressively, with their content, disclosure conditions, and acceptance criteria fixed before evaluation. A completion verifier and a personalization verifier separately assess native correctness and persona fulfillment. Joint pass requires both adherence to the declared budget and compliance with validity conditions. We evaluate all major frontier agents, establish a comprehensive leaderboard, and conduct detailed experimental analyses to validate effectiveness. PersonaCodeBench supports reproducible evaluation of coding agents' ability to meet explicit, personalized user expectations alongside coding objectives.

SlotMemory: Object-Centric KV Memory for Streaming Long-Video Generation

Weijia Dou, Hui Li, Jiahao Cui, Lei Zhou, Jingdong Wang, Siyu Zhu

Streaming video generation models typically rely on temporal-centric memory, organizing historical context as latent queues, compressed context tokens, or unclustered token sets. This often causes identity drift and semantic inconsistency when entities exit the frame or during interactive prompt transitions. To address these limitations, we propose SlotMemory, an object-centric Key-Value (KV) memory mechanism for streaming video diffusion. Our approach shifts memory abstraction from ``when'' an event occurred to ``what'' is represented by decomposing the transformer's KV manifold into discrete, reusable semantic slots. Because the slots serve only as routing addresses and the stored content remains the original transformer KV tokens, the mechanism adds entity-level persistence and prompt-aware retrieval across long horizons. Evaluated on 60-second interactive narratives using the Wan2.1-T2V-1.3B backbone, SlotMemory achieves the highest Dynamic Degree among evaluated streaming methods and the second-highest aggregate Quality Score, preserving prompt adherence rather than trading it away for consistency. At the 30-second horizon, SlotMemory leads in Total, Quality, and Dynamic Degree, improving Dynamic Degree by 31.2% over MemFlow, the strongest memory-based baseline. Our results support treating structured semantic representation, rather than raw temporal capacity, as a critical primitive for persistent long-form video synthesis.

FlowTranslator: Training-Free In-Image Machine Translation with Flow-Based Editing

Zhixian Li, Xingsong Ye, Yongkun Du, Yunyan Xiao, Yanglin Huang, Pinxuan Chen, Jiyu Zhuang, Cong Xu 等 9 位作者

In-image machine translation (IIMT) replaces text in an image with its translation while preserving the surrounding visual context. Existing task-specific models achieve convincing performance but require massive paired training images before and after translation. As advanced text-to-image (T2I) models have reached a practically usable level of multilingual text generation, we argue that this capability can be transferred to IIMT and present FlowTranslator. It is a training-free IIMT framework that first employs an OCR model and an LLM to generate the translation prompt, which is injected into the T2I-based diffusion model. To optimize the accurate and natural generation of translated text, we introduce two trajectory controls: Region Coupling Release (RCR) partially decorrelates target-branch noise inside the text region early in the trajectory, while Coupling Expansion (CE) amplifies the emerging edit displacement mid-trajectory. Under the EasyOCR read-back protocol, FlowTranslator achieves average PRIM BLEU and COMET scores of 20.6 and 57.2, respectively, substantially outperforming the strong training-based baseline UniTranslator. On the more challenging and realistic whole-image ScenePair photographs translated into Chinese, it reaches 40.1\% exact-match accuracy and surpasses existing editing systems, some of which only address the text-rendering stage rather than the complete IIMT task. These results establish flow-based editing as a strong, fully training-free baseline for IIMT.

Yinyi Luo, Wenwen Wang, Hayes Bai, Hongyu Zhu, Hao Chen, Pan He, Marios Savvides, Sharon Li 等 9 位作者

Recent advances in unified multimodal models (UMMs) have led to a proliferation of architectures capable of understanding, generating, and editing across visual and textual modalities. However, developing a unified framework for UMMs remains challenging due to the diversity of model architectures and the heterogeneity of training paradigms and implementation details. In this paper, we present TorchUMM, the first unified codebase for comprehensive evaluation, analysis, and post-training across diverse UMM backbones, tasks, and datasets. TorchUMM supports a broad spectrum of models covering a wide range of scales and design paradigms. Our benchmark encompasses three core task dimensions: multimodal understanding, generation, and editing, and integrates both established and novel datasets to evaluate perception, reasoning, compositionality, and instruction-following abilities. By providing a unified interface and standardized evaluation protocols, TorchUMM enables fair and reproducible comparisons across heterogeneous models and fosters deeper insights into their strengths and limitations, facilitating the development of more capable unified multimodal systems. Code is available at: https://github.com/AIFrontierLab/TorchUMM.

RoboMemory: A Brain-inspired Multi-memory Agentic Framework for Interactive Environmental Learning in Physical Embodied Systems

Mingcong Lei, Honghao Cai, Yuyuan Yang, Yimou Wu, Jinke Ren, Zezhou Cui, Liangchen Tan, Junkun Hong 等 19 位作者

Long-horizon embodied tasks require agents to learn, reason, and generalize robustly across complex real-world environments. However, existing approaches often struggle with partial observability, fragmented spatial reasoning, and inefficient integration of heterogeneous memories, limiting their capacity for long-horizon adaptation. To address this, we introduce RoboMemory, a brain-inspired framework that unifies Temporal, Spatial, Semantic, and Episodic memory for efficient long-horizon planning and interactive learning. Its core innovations are a comprehensive memory system designed for embodied tasks, and a dynamic spatial knowledge graph for scalable, consistent memory updates. Extensive experiments on EmbodiedBench show that RoboMemory improves the average success rate of Qwen2.5-VL-72B-Ins by 26.5 percentage points and achieves performance comparable to strong closed-source VLM agents. Real-world trials further suggest RoboMemory's potential for interactive environmental learning by reusing accumulated experience across repeated task attempts. These results demonstrate RoboMemory as a scalable memory-augmented framework for embodied agents, improving long-horizon planning and cumulative learning in complex interactive environments.

Quantifier Elimination Meets Treewidth

Hao Wu, Jiyu Zhu, Amir Kafshdar Goharshady, Jie An, Bican Xia, Naijun Zhan

In this paper, we address the complexity barrier inherent in Fourier-Motzkin elimination (FME) and cylindrical algebraic decomposition (CAD) when eliminating a block of (existential) quantifiers. To mitigate this, we propose exploiting structural sparsity in the variable dependency graph of quantified formulas. Utilizing tools from parameterized algorithms, we investigate the role of treewidth, a parameter that measures the graph's tree-likeness, in the process of quantifier elimination. A novel dynamic programming framework, structured over a tree decomposition of the dependency graph, is developed for applying FME and CAD, and is also extensible to general quantifier elimination procedures. Crucially, we prove that when the treewidth is a constant, the framework achieves a significant exponential complexity improvement for both FME and CAD, reducing the worst-case complexity bound from doubly exponential to single exponential. Preliminary experiments on sparse linear real arithmetic (LRA) and nonlinear real arithmetic (NRA) benchmarks confirm that our algorithm outperforms the existing popular heuristic-based approaches on instances exhibiting low treewidth.

WebHarbor: Docking Real Websites for Evolving GUI Agent Environments

Zhaoyang Wang, Qianhui Wu, Boyu Gou, Demi Wang, Jiacheng Zhang, Peichun Hua, Qize Li, Shi Qiu 等 57 位作者

GUI web agents require realistic and interactive environments that remain stable during both evaluation and training. Live website evaluation suffers from changing content, access restrictions, and limited coverage of authenticated workflows, while existing synthetic environments for training often lack functional depth and visual fidelity. We propose WebHarbor, a suite of 153 executable and dockerized website environments that faithfully reconstruct the visual interfaces, content, and functional workflows of real-world web services under deterministic control. We build WebHarbor through task-driven human-agent collaboration, where environments evolve as new tasks expand their functional scope, coding agents implement the required changes, and human contributors audit visual fidelity, functional correctness, and task validity. The resulting suite comprises 3,518 tasks spanning multi-step and post-authentication workflows, where existing works often fail to cover. Beyond reliable evaluation, WebHarbor provides high-fidelity synthetic web environments for cost-efficient reinforcement learning (RL). We demonstrate that a Qwen 4B-level GUI agent trained with RL in WebHarbor generalizes to unseen tasks and performs competitively with leading open-source GUI web agents across four benchmarks. The code and data are publicly available at https://github.com/aiming-lab/WebHarbor.

Reviso: Not All Visual Evidence Deserves Equal Attention in Video Captioning

Tengfei Liu, Yang Shi, Yuran Wang, Yuqi Tang, Yizhuo Jia, Zhuoran Zhang, Qixun Wang, Shujie Li 等 15 位作者

Multimodal large language models (MLLMs) can generate detailed video captions, yet they may overemphasize minor details while overlooking essential context and key events. We argue that not all visual evidence deserves equal attention, as the importance of visual information depends on the content of each video. Motivated by this observation, we propose Reviso, an agentic video captioning framework that learns what to observe and how to gather relevant visual evidence. From a low-frame-rate global preview, Reviso constructs a hierarchical Context--Focus--Points (CFP) observation plan that identifies the video context, prioritizes key aspects, and defines concrete observation targets and corresponding tools. Guided by this plan, Reviso performs goal-directed active perception by selectively revisiting temporal segments and combining tools for fine-grained inspection. It interprets the acquired evidence, updates its plan as needed, and integrates global and local information to generate the final caption. To learn this observation strategy, we develop a verification-guided pipeline that constructs high-quality training trajectories through factual verification and teacher-guided refinement. We further train Reviso using Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO), incorporating a key-fact reward for caption quality, a Plan Alignment Reward (PAR) for identifying important observation targets, and an Unproductive Tool-Call Penalty (UTCP) that adjusts observation-cost penalties based on caption quality. Experiments across four video captioning benchmarks show that Reviso outperforms the evaluated open-source baselines, while its generated captions better support downstream video question answering. These findings highlight the effectiveness and potential of priority-guided active observation for video captioning.

VeriHarm-Bench: Measuring Harmful Success in LLM Coding Agents Verifiably

Wei-Lin Chen, Zhepei Wei, Xinyu Zhu, Yu-Min Tseng, Tzu-Han Lin, Yu Meng

Large language model (LLM) coding agents increasingly operate with shell access, allowing them to write scripts, move files, alter permissions, and modify system configurations. However, an agent may achieve a user's goal while causing unintended harm, such as deleting unrelated files, weakening access controls, or corrupting data, in response to benign inputs without explicit jailbreaking. This failure mode is particularly important because apparent task success may reassure users that an agent behaved correctly, causing harmful side effects to go unnoticed. We call this harmful success: the agent successfully completes the intended benign task while simultaneously causing unintended harm. Despite its importance, harmful success is difficult to measure because conventional task-success metrics overlook harmful behaviors, while existing safety evaluations are often designed solely to assess harmful outcomes. We introduce VeriHarm, an automatic framework for constructing programmatically verifiable benchmarks that directly measure harmful success. VeriHarm minimally perturbs coding tasks to elicit unintended harmful behavior while maintaining the benignity of the task and preserving the original task objective. It then synthesizes executable harm tests that, together with the original task-correctness tests, evaluate both task accuracy and harmful outcomes. Frontier agents, including GPT-5.6-Sol and Claude-Opus-5, achieve an average task accuracy of 95% on our curated VeriHarm-Bench, yet still struggle to complete tasks safely: their safe success rate, the fraction of tasks completed successfully without triggering the designated harm, averages only 37%. These results suggest that successful task completion can frequently coexist with unintended harm, and that task-success metrics alone may substantially understate the potential safety risks of coding agents.

SkillDRE: Dual-Stage Red-Team Evolution of Agent Skills via Pre-Execution and Runtime Feedback

Pengyu Zhu, Jingyi Yang, Yi Liu, Li Sun, Sen Su

Agent skills package instructions, executable code, and task-specific resources into reusable artifacts that agents can improve using execution feedback. The same mechanism also enables attackers to evolve malicious skills, making them more effective and less detectable. However, a candidate skill may pass pre-execution scanning yet fail to realize its target under runtime defenses, while a revision that repairs execution may introduce new scanner findings. We introduce SkillDRE, a fully automated framework for evolving complete malicious skill packages through a dual-stage feedback loop. Given a benign task and its associated skills, SkillDRE autonomously constructs and validates a task-conditioned malicious objective and a verifiable judge rule. It then holds both fixed while evolving the skill implementation, with preservation of legitimate task capability. SkillDRE combines scanner-guided evolution with runtime-guided refinement informed by execution outcomes observed under runtime defense. Each runtime-guided revision returns to the pre-execution stage for rescanning and further optimization before re-execution, forming a cross-stage closed loop. Evaluated on SkillsBench across four victim models, SkillDRE achieves an average attack success rate of 45.28%, exceeding the strongest baseline by 40.3%, while its final submitted skills receive no SkillScan findings and largely preserve benign-task performance. These results show that two-stage defense feedback can serve as a useful learning signal for adaptive red teaming and that evaluating either defense stage in isolation can miss the resulting attack capability. RouteREPA: Routed Representation Alignment for Just Image Transformers

Yi Tan, Beier Zhu, Sirui Chen, Cheng Chen, Xingyu Zhu, Yuan Zhou, Zhenshan Tan, Tianrun Chen 等 9 位作者

Representation alignment (REPA) is widely used to accelerate the training of latent-space diffusion transformers (DiTs). However, applying it to pixel-space models such as Just Image Transformers (JiT) is challenging. Our analysis reveals a pronounced representation conflict between discriminative alignment and pixel-space generation. Compared with its latent counterpart, JiT learns representations that are substantially less aligned with DINOv2. Applying REPA to JiT consistently reduces the reconstructability of its intermediate representations, whereas this effect is not observed in Latent JiT. We attribute this conflict to JiT directly reconstructing pixels, which requires its representations to hierarchically encode discriminative semantics and reconstruction-relevant visual information across network depths. To address these challenges, we propose Routed Representation Alignment (RouteREPA), which uses lightweight, representation-dependent routers to adaptively route task-oriented representations for alignment and generation. We further apply routing across multiple network depths to accommodate their depth-dependent representation requirements. Extensive experiments on ImageNet-1K at 256x256 resolution show that RouteREPA consistently improves JiT across model scales and training budgets, outperforming standard REPA. On JiT-H/16, RouteREPA further surpasses PixelREPA using only one-third of its training epochs without classifier-free guidance.

Unlocking the Potential of Contrastive Regularization for Diffusion Transformer Training

Yi Tan, Beier Zhu, Sirui Chen, Yunzhe Lin, Yuan Zhou, Cheng Chen, Xingyu Zhu, Tianrun Chen 等 10 位作者

Representation regularization has emerged as an effective way to improve diffusion transformer training. Yet one of the most canonical regularizers--InfoNCE-style contrastive learning--remains largely underexplored in this setting. We naturally ask a question: can standard contrastive learning serve as an effective regularizer for diffusion transformers? Surprisingly, we find that naive InfoNCE regularization brings only marginal gains. Our analysis reveals that the objective is easily dominated by a shortcut: near-orthogonal noise components in diffusion inputs provide a bypass for enlarging negative-pair distances while weakening positive-pair alignment, especially at high noise levels. To unlock the benefit of contrastive regularization, we propose Clean Representation-ANchored Contrastive (CRAN) regularization. Specifically, CRAN anchors contrastive dispersion with clean-sample representation distances, transferring clean relational semantic structure to noisy diffusion representations to suppress the noise shortcut. Extensive experiments on ImageNet show that CRAN consistently improves diffusion transformer training across model scales and training budgets, outperforming internal feature-alignment and dispersive regularization baselines while matching external DINO-guided REPA. These results re-establish InfoNCE-based contrastive learning as an effective regularizer for diffusion training, once its noise-driven over-dispersion is properly constrained.

Labference: Benchmarking the Reasoning-Action Connection in Robotic Laboratories

Shitong Liu, Xu Yang, Jingwei Zhang, Sheng Lian, Xinyu Zhuang, Kaiwen Guo, Quan Liu, Chunhai Zhao 等 21 位作者

Realizing Embodied AI for Science requires robots to translate experimental goals into reliable physical procedures, reducing hazardous and repetitive human work while generating evidence for scientific discovery. Although language-based planning and learned manipulation provide complementary capabilities, their integration requires robots to adapt subsequent operations to actual execution outcomes. For example, an unsuccessful placement changes what must be done next, even when the experimental goal remains unchanged. Existing benchmarks assess planning, manipulation, and laboratory workflows through task completion and reasoning or execution metrics; however, aggregate performance leaves the connection between outcome-dependent choices and physical execution unresolved. To address this evaluation gap, we introduce Labference, a benchmark for evaluating how observed physical outcomes guide subsequent choices and how those choices translate into robotic laboratory actions. Its evaluation protocol is designed to test outcome-dependent behavioral adaptation through controlled evidence variations, while independently measuring operation selection, physical execution, and task completion. Matched Oracle-assisted continuations from shared checkpoints then assess which forms of support improve subsequent choices and task completion. Initial weighing evaluations reveal target-selection errors in the tested VLA policies despite successful object transfers, whereas GPT-driven control achieves correct selection but encounters execution failures and substantial computation costs. Together, these findings highlight the need to connect task-appropriate reasoning with reliable, timely action. By making this connection measurable and diagnosable, Labference supports targeted improvements toward autonomous experimentation for Embodied AI for Science.

Human-inspired, Task-Dimension-Guided Exploration for Efficient Learning in High Dimensions

Fanyu Zhu, Jiahui An, Ni Ji

Efficient exploration in high-dimensional decision spaces remains a central challenge for decision-making systems. Humans, in contrast, can navigate large decision spaces with remarkable efficiency. Recent behavioral studies suggest that humans reduce dimensionality in large decision spaces by probing candidate feature dimensions, identifying reward-relevant ones, and restricting the effective decision space. Inspired by this mechanism, we propose TDGE (Task-Dimension-Guided Exploration), a human-inspired, model-agnostic algorithm with an automatically constructed task-dimension--feature--item hierarchy. TDGE follows a top-down exploration strategy: it first selects task-relevant feature dimensions, then identifies informative features within those dimensions, and finally recommends concrete items based on the selected features. Experiments on MovieLens-20M, LastFM, and Amazon recommendation datasets show that TDGE substantially improves exploration efficiency and cold-start adaptation over baseline algorithms. Comparisons with other structured algorithms and ablation studies attribute these gains to TDGE's hierarchical structure and semantic feature-space exploration, with robust results across clustering methods and hierarchy depths. Recommendation-trajectory visualizations also show exploration patterns similar to human dimension-guided behavior.

Xiaomi Auto World Model 2.0: Causal World Models for Real-World Driving and Embodied Intelligence

Zhenxin Zhu, Zhijian Huang, Cheng Chi, Yuru Wang, Jianhua Wu, Jiayi Guan, Yonggang Li, Mingfei Tu 等 23 位作者

We present Xiaomi Auto World Model 2.0, a unified streaming causal world model for Physical AI. It models and generates causal physical evolution in the real world, and unifies heterogeneous conditioning inputs for view-consistent generation. The architecture integrates View-Temporal Attention (VTA) to capture cross-view spatial dependencies and temporal dynamics, together with Multi-view Rotary Position Encoding (RoPE) to encode positional relationships across views and time. WorldRec 2.0 reconstructs static and dynamic 3D Gaussians from multi-view, multi-temporal observations in a single forward pass and uses their renderings as explicit scene context to preserve geometry and appearance during long-horizon generation. Conditioning inputs are fused through VAE latent concatenation in a shared representation space. We incorporate Gated Linear Attention (GLA) into the temporal layers of VTA for efficient streaming inference, reducing computation and KV-cache memory during multi-view rollouts. A physical-interaction data pipeline covers diverse interactions and long-tailed events. From Pre-train onward, these data are combined with large-scale videos and heterogeneous visual modalities to learn visual, geometric, and dynamic priors. During Mid-train, training across diverse view configurations further improves the model's ability to capture how actions and object states shape subsequent scene evolution. After distillation-based Post-train, we apply the model to closed-loop simulation, closed-loop training, and World Action Model (WAM) applications. These applications generate physically consistent future states and support world-state prediction, policy learning, and action generation for Physical AI.

PS-DLO: Property- and Spatially Aware Deformable Linear Object Manipulation Policy

Mengdi Li, Boxian Yao, Xiyu Zhu, Yunfan Lou, Yifan Yang, Yuanpeng He, Xuan Han, Tao Liu 等 9 位作者

Deformable linear objects (DLO) pose a coupled perception and control challenge: their slender geometry makes precise localization difficult, while their deformations depend on object-specific physical properties. To address this challenge, we propose PS-DLO, a property- and spatially aware DLO manipulation policy. First, contrastive image-text learning maps the initial observation to categorical descriptions of DLO properties, providing explicit physical and structural priors for action generation. Second, SAM3 extracts mask-guided features from future observations, which are distilled into the policy's action expert to encode task-relevant DLO regions and their subsequent configurations. We evaluate PS-DLO on nine real-world tasks across single-arm and bimanual platforms, training a shared multi-task policy for each embodiment. PS-DLO achieves an average success rate of 68.9%, exceeding the strongest baseline by 20.0 percentage points. In generalization experiments, PS-DLO achieves higher success rates than the baseline in six of seven visual-shift conditions on butterfly-knot untying. These results demonstrate that combining object-property priors with future spatial supervision improves multi-task DLO manipulation and robustness to visual variation.

Video Generation Meets Agent Harness: Agentic Video Generation, Agentic World Modeling and Recursive Self-Improvement

Video generation is shifting from end-to-end synthesis toward agentic generation, where planning, tool use, and feedback enable coherent, controllable multi-shot videos. In parallel, video world models provide action-conditioned observations and predicted futures, serving as interactive environments for agents. We study their intersection through the agent harness: an executable runtime that constructs context, exposes tools, maintains state, routes feedback, and manages budgets around video models. This report examines three directions. First, agentic video generation, where harnesses coordinate scripting, shot planning, asset management, production, and editing, alongside the evaluation challenges of these systems. Second, agentic world modeling, where harnesses mediate observation, control, execution, and state. We discuss hybrid designs in which game engines or agent-written programs maintain world state while video models render observations, and how agents and world models can mutually evaluate and improve one another. Third, recursive self-improvement (RSI) in video model development, distinguishing output revisions, updates to harness state, generator parameters, and evaluators, and changes to the improvement procedure itself. We identify how these improvements feed back into subsequent development. Across these directions, we analyze essential agent capabilities, including audiovisual perception, long-horizon planning, memory, code-based interaction, feedback-guided control, skill reuse, and multi-agent coordination. We conclude with challenges in autonomous video production, lifelong memory, programmable hybrid control, autonomous model development, provenance, cost accounting, and evaluation linking video quality and task performance to sustained improvements in models and harnesses.

Improving Energy Efficiency of Uplink RSMA via Rydberg Atomic Quantum Receiver

Xinya Shen, Zheng Chu, David Chieng, Chiew Foong Kwong, Qihao Peng, Zhengyu Zhu, Pei Xiao, Jianyue Zhu

This paper investigates an uplink rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA) network empowered by a Rydberg atomic quantum receiver (RAQR) to maximize energy efficiency (EE). To overcome the amplitude-only measurement limitation of the considered direct readout RAQR, we devise a phase alignment mechanism that linearizes the received signal while retaining full channel energy, thereby enabling tractable optimization. The resulting non-convex fractional EE problem is transformed via Dinkelbach's method. For IoT scenarios with symmetric rate requirements, we derive exact closed-form power allocation from the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions, which yields a globally optimal bisection search with negligible computational latency. For asymmetric rate requirements, we develop a generalized block coordinate descent-based power allocation (BCD-PA) framework that eliminates reliance on expensive interior-point solvers. We further propose a low-complexity paired allocation (LC-Paired) that exploits user pairing and closed-form bandwidth solutions via the Lambert-W function. Simulation results confirm that the KKT-based scheme attains the highest EE, while the BCD-PA offers a flexible complexity-performance trade-off. The LC-Paired scheme drastically reduces computational cost with only moderate EE degradation.

ATLAS-Bench: An Agentic Tool-Use Benchmark for Local Area Search

Keyun Zhang, Dapeng Yin, Fanfu Wang, Shuang Lang, Zhenyu Zhu, Yulin Huang, Chong Yang, Pengjie Wang

Reliable local search is essential for LLM agents to support everyday decisions and longer plans by finding places that meet users' needs at given times and locations. Yet existing benchmarks provide limited coverage of whether search results satisfy mandatory requirements, account for preferences, and ground factual and experiential judgments in place attributes and reviews. We introduce ATLAS-Bench, a benchmark of 1,200 queries across three regions, expanded from real search events using place attributes, reviews, and existing user profiles from the platform. Each query distinguishes mandatory requirements from preferences and factual conditions from subjective judgments, with supporting evidence and criteria for checking each requirement. Queries are validated through iterative assertion checks and cross-model review. We also introduce ATLASBox, a standardized evaluation environment with search tools and a fixed point-of-interest (POI) knowledge base. Given a query, timestamp, and location, an agent searches place attributes and reviews to recommend evidence-supported options or report that no place meets all mandatory requirements. We evaluate answer quality, trajectory quality, and execution cost. Across 14 configurations of 11 models, GPT-6-Luna achieves the highest constraint satisfaction rate among returned recommendations (71.5%) and factual accuracy (95.6%). However, it returns at least one acceptable recommendation for fewer satisfiable queries than GLM-5.3 (67.3% versus 85.3%). These results highlight the challenge of satisfying individual requirements while providing usable recommendations across queries.

Convex-SKM-Net: Low-Latency Block Halfspace Corrections for Neural Convex Constraint Satisfaction

Haoyu Zhu, Xiaochen Zhang, Qingchun Hou

Fast inference and strict constraint satisfaction are essential for learning-based decision-making. Existing methods often rely on constraint-specific projections or feasible-set parameterizations, while iterative repair can be costly. We introduce Convex-SKM-Net, a convex constraint-satisfaction layer that forms linearization halfspaces from residual and (sub)gradient oracles without constraint-specific inequality projectors. It applies fixed-depth dual projected-gradient descent (dual PGD) to minimum-displacement block problems using GPU-friendly matrix operations. We jointly learn the predictor and a positive-definite mobility, adapting the correction geometry to improve objective quality. We prove convergence of the outer iterates at fixed dual depth and linear convergence in distance under Slater's condition and bounded subgradients. All our test outputs on three second-order-cone model-predictive control (SOC-MPC) horizons and six power-system convex relaxations satisfy a $10^{-3}$ feasibility tolerance. Comparisons with the latest constraint-satisfaction methods show inference speedups of up to $144.3\times$ on SOC-MPC and $7.7\times$ on a convex quadratically constrained quadratic programming (QCQP) benchmark with joint training. On QCQP, the mean objective gap is $0.012\%$, with full test feasibility at $10^{-4}$. Learning mobility reduces the five-seed affine-task mean gap by $22.4\%$ and improves gaps in matched power-system comparisons.

Vision Tomography: Towards Portable 3D Bidirectional Face-Skull Inference from Visual Data

Zidu Wang, Meng Xu, Miao Xu, Hengyuan Ma, Jiankuo Zhao, Xutao Li, Zhen Lei, Xiangyu Zhu

Traditional computed tomography (CT) can capture paired 3D face and skull geometry, but it remains costly, fixed in location, and exposes patients to radiation. For applications such as remote diagnostics, digital healthcare, forensic identification, missing-person investigation, and archaeological analysis, there is an urgent need for a portable, safe, and accessible solution to capture 3D skull geometry. In this work, we introduce Vision Tomography (VT), a concept and framework capable of reconstructing paired 3D face-skull geometry from various visual modalities, and also enabling joint manipulation of 3D facial and skull geometry. To achieve this, we first construct a dataset of over 200 samples, where each case includes a CT-based skull, a CT-based face, and a high-fidelity textured face scan. Secondly, we propose a novel dense ray matching registration method that ensures topological consistency across face, skull, and their tissue correspondences. Building on this registration, we introduce the 3D Bidirectional Face-Skull Morphable Model (BFSM) as the foundation of Vision Tomography, which enables shape inference between the face and skull through a shared coefficient space, while also modeling tissue thickness variation to support one-to-many facial reconstructions from the same skull, reflecting individual facial changes such as age or body fat. Finally, we demonstrate the effectiveness of Vision Tomography across various forensic and medical applications, including paired 3D face-skull reconstruction from images or sketches and predicting surgical outcomes with joint face-skull editing. Extensive experiments confirm the robustness and accuracy of our method. Vision Tomography is available at https://github.com/wang-zidu/BFSM

EffiBench-X: A Multi-Language Benchmark for Measuring Efficiency of LLM-Generated Code

Yuhao Qing, Boyu Zhu, Mingzhe Du, Zhijiang Guo, Terry Yue Zhuo, Qianru Zhang, Jie M. Zhang, Heming Cui 等 12 位作者

Existing code generation benchmarks primarily evaluate functional correctness, with limited focus on code efficiency and often restricted to a single language like Python. To address this gap, we introduce EffiBench-X, the first multi-language benchmark designed to measure the efficiency of LLM-generated code. EffiBench-X supports Python, C++, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, and Golang. It comprises competitive programming tasks with human-expert solutions as efficiency baselines. Evaluating state-of-the-art LLMs on EffiBench-X reveals that while models generate functionally correct code, they consistently underperform human experts in efficiency. Even the most efficient LLM-generated solutions (Qwen3-32B) achieve only around \textbf{62\%} of human efficiency on average, with significant language-specific variations. LLMs show better efficiency in Python, Ruby, and JavaScript than in Java, C++, and Golang. For instance, DeepSeek-R1's Python code is significantly more efficient than its Java code. These results highlight the critical need for research into LLM optimization techniques to improve code efficiency across diverse languages. The dataset and evaluation infrastructure are submitted and available at https://github.com/EffiBench/EffiBench-X.git and https://huggingface.co/datasets/EffiBench/effibench-x.

Weakness Localization Is Not Enough: State-Aware Recursive Knowledge Improvement for Large Language Models

Runze Jiang, Yan Wang, Boran Jin, Bingyu Zhu, Longtao Huang

Knowledge improvement in large language models is shifting from predefined knowledge incorporation pipelines toward evaluation-guided updating. Existing methods use evaluation to localize model-specific knowledge weaknesses and guide targeted post-training. However, identifying what to improve does not necessarily provide sufficient information for deciding how to improve it. The same localized weakness can be compatible with distinct operational knowledge states: the relevant knowledge may be unavailable, available but difficult to access reliably, or accessible but ineffective for downstream use. We call this ambiguity knowledge-state aliasing. When compatible states favor different interventions, greater diagnostic resolution alone is insufficient for intervention selection. Moreover, model updates can change the underlying knowledge state before the observed weakness disappears, such that an intervention appropriate in one round may no longer address the bottleneck in the next. To address these challenges, we propose Recursive Knowledge Improvement (RKI), which formulates knowledge improvement as a sequential, state-aware intervention process. RKI organizes knowledge into graph-structured units that provide a shared basis for diagnostic evaluation and targeted intervention across rounds. At each round, RKI localizes knowledge weaknesses, estimates the model's operational knowledge state from diagnostic evidence and intervention history, selects a corresponding intervention, and re-evaluates the updated model before determining the next intervention. On HotpotEval and SafeInternalEval, RKI outperforms existing knowledge incorporation methods by 18.41 points on average. Further analyses show that knowledge states provide additional guidance for intervention selection beyond weakness localization and can change across model updates even when the observed weakness persists.

Uncertainty-Guided Multimodal Consensus for Multimodal Sentiment Analysis

Guowei Zhong, Junjie Li, Huaiyu Zhu, Ruohong Huan, Yun Pan

Multimodal sentiment analysis (MSA) has made considerable progress in recent years. Existing MSA methods mainly learn shared multimodal representations or train unimodal predictors with a common multimodal label. However, assigning the shared label to every modality can obscure modality-specific sentiment, while direct fusion may overemphasize unreliable predictions when modalities disagree. To address these issues, we propose Uncertainty-Guided Multimodal Consensus (UMC), which first recovers continuous unimodal pseudo-labels and then forms a reliability-aware consensus across modalities. Our method consists of two key components: i) Continuous Prototype-Guided Label Recovery (CPLR), which combines heteroscedastic predictions with ordered sentiment prototypes and uses confidence and label conflict to refine continuous unimodal pseudo-labels, and ii) Reliability and Precision Consensus (RPC), which estimates sample-dependent modality reliability from predictive statistics and cross-modal disagreement and combines it with predictive precision through a closed-form consensus solver. Extensive experiments conducted on four publicly available MSA datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our proposed model.
