Take It From Here: Evaluating Coding Agents On Project Takeover

Coding agents increasingly collaborate on long-term projects. When taking over a project, they need to recover currently applicable requirements from the interaction history and update them in response to new requests. However, most coding benchmarks do not include long interaction histories, and some evaluations that consider history still do not cover the full process from requirement reconstruction to project delivery. We therefore provide agents with the interaction history, current request, and pre-request project environment, ask them to make the requested changes, and assess takeover performance through delivery tests. Across six model-harness configurations and 37 targets eligible for executable validation, the mean complete-delivery rate under Full History is only 4.95%. We then use requirement atoms to independently diagnose a larger set of takeover targets, examining relevant information identification, pre-request state reconstruction, and current request processing. We further supply correct pre-request or target states to examine the remaining difficulties in requirement processing and project modification. The diagnostics show that none of the six configurations produces fully correct post-request requirement states, and a case illustrates omission of previously recovered constraints during updating. With correct target states supplied, the mean complete-delivery rate is 8.11%, with build and regression pass rates of 96.40% and 90.99%, but target-test success remains 9.01%. These results show difficulties in both forming target requirement states and implementing supplied targets in existing projects. Based on these findings, we introduce ReqMemBench, which combines requirement diagnostics with delivery validation to support systematic evaluation of project takeover.

Entropogram-guided Visual Realignment Decoding: Capturing the Rhythm of Multimodal Reasoning

Jiaqi Deng, Zhe Fu, Yakun Chen, Dichang Zhang, Zonghan Wu, Xiaoshui Huang, Huan Huo, Guandong Xu

Multimodal large language models (MLLMs) have demonstrated remarkable progress on cross-modal reasoning tasks, yet they continue to suffer from hallucinations in long-chain reasoning processes. In this work, we revisit hallucination in MLLMs from the perspective of reasoning generation dynamics. We argue that entropy is not merely a static measure of uncertainty but a structured signal that reflects how modality information is integrated throughout decoding. Through systematic analysis, we identify two characteristic entropy patterns associated with hallucination behaviors: (1) a generally high-confidence regime corresponds to premature convergence to inappropriate multimodal interactions; and (2) local abrupt entropy transitions are associated with reasoning instability and hallucination onset. Building on these observations, we propose an entropy-aware self-introspective framework for MLLM reasoning. Our method continuously tracks entropy dynamics during decoding and performs targeted visual re-alignment when suspicious hallucination states are detected, encouraging the model to re-examine salient visual evidence at critical reasoning stages. Extensive experiments across six multimodal reasoning benchmarks spanning nine distinct evaluation settings demonstrate that our approach delivers robust improvements in reasoning accuracy and hallucination robustness, while providing new insights into the generation dynamics underlying MLLM failures. Phantom: Temporal Caching for Diffusion Models

Yuzhe Fu, Cong Guo, Zishan Shao, Bowen Duan, Chiyue Wei, Haoxuan Shan, Ting Jiang, Hancheng Ye 等 12 位作者

Diffusion models have become the dominant paradigm for high-quality image generation, but their iterative inference across tens of timesteps incurs substantial computational overhead. Prior accelerators exploit temporal similarity in diffusion models via differential quantization or output sparsity, yet suffer from increased memory footprint, design complexity, and image degradation. In this work, we present Phantom, an algorithm-architecture co-designed accelerator built on temporal caching. We view temporal similarity as differential sparsity: between adjacent timesteps, only a small fraction of tokens (outliers) change significantly. Phantom recomputes only these outlier tokens and reuses the rest from a temporal cache. Phantom runs on standard systolic arrays with lightweight additions: a Phantom Engine at the global buffer that detects outliers and updates the cache as activations stream through, and a condensed pipeline that maps the resulting sparse updates onto dense systolic computation for FC, convolution, and attention layers. Evaluations on modern diffusion models show that Phantom achieves an average 4.0x speedup and 5.5x energy saving over GPUs and prior accelerators while preserving generation quality.

Throughput-Optimal Control of Distributed Computing Networks for Service DAGs

Peng Li, Jianan Zhang, Jaime Llorca, Xinzhe Fu, Xiang Cheng, Chen Chen

Executing service workflows with directed acyclic graph (DAG) dependencies over wireless distributed computing networks requires joint control of function placement, routing, and scheduling, together with synchronization of inputs from the same request at merge points. We study throughput-optimal control of these networks under stochastic request arrivals, time-varying wireless links, and interference constraints. We use a valid mapping abstraction that assigns each service function to a computation node and each DAG dependency to a routing path. Using this abstraction, we characterize the network capacity region to support service DAGs, and prove that synchronizing the packets of a request at merge points does not shrink the region. We develop Dynamic Computing Network Control for service DAGs (DCNC-DAG), a dynamic control policy that selects queue-aware valid mappings and schedules service DAG execution by nearest-to-origin (NTO) while enforcing input synchronization at merge points. With exact minimum-cost valid mappings, DCNC-DAG is throughput-optimal and ensures rate stability of the physical queues under bounded arrivals. These guarantees hold for any fixed finite interval between mapping updates, even when mapping decisions rely on boundedly stale queue length information. For larger service DAGs, we develop DCNC-DAG-H, which replaces exact mapping optimization with a queue-aware heuristic. Simulations show that DCNC-DAG supports $2.7\times$-$5.5\times$ the throughput of queue-blind baselines, while DCNC-DAG-H achieves up to $2.68\times$ those of the corresponding baselines on larger workflow and AI service DAGs.
