When Is Fresh AI Stock Analysis Worth It? Allocating a Limited Research Budget Across Price Updates, Deep Forecast Refreshes, and Editorial Reviews of Top Stock Picks

Russlan Ramdowar

原文摘要

When is another AI research run worth more than keeping that money invested? Using 8,120 iPulse AI reports that consumed nearly 100 million output and reasoning tokens on the same 203 stocks across four production batches, we compare repricing old targets (with and without shock safeguards), mechanical growth-path resets and fresh multi-agent reports. Ten matched configurations represent seven investment frameworks. The primary economic test selects equal-weight Top 10 USD portfolios from one-year forecasts, net of 10 bps trading costs and a USD 3,000 all-in charge for fresh research on a USD 300,000 account. In two unchanged-model short windows, guarded reuse averages 2.25%, versus 1.66% for SPY and 4.24% for fresh reports. Guarded reuse beats SPY in all three short windows. Extending the first holding window to 176 days reverses the comparison: guarded reuse returns -11.26%, fresh reports +8.55%, and SPY +3.46%, motivating the thesis half-life question. Supporting quarter-forecast diagnostics show that mechanically resetting old growth paths closes 98% of the MAE gap to fresh reports, yet Fresh and Reset share only 1-4 Top 10 stocks. Top 30 reverses the unchanged-model comparison in favor of guarded reuse (4.17% versus 1.37%). Concentration tests expose dependence on exceptional winners. Nine editorial editions show substantial between-edition turnover, but each final screen retains its own incoming list. Recurring budget scenarios retain initial holdings: monthly costs approach realized short-window refresh value, while weekly budgets require larger additional gains. A matched ranking-continuity extension extracts further value from retained forecasts without eliminating thesis ageing. The architecture separates continuous price monitoring, episodic thesis rebuilding and evidence-based editorial checks.

EvolveNet: Collaborative Harness Evolution for Agent Self-Improvement

Jun Nie, Yonggang Zhang, Qianshu Cai, Yiu-ming Cheung, Xinmei Tian, Bo Han

原文摘要

An LLM agent can acquire persistent improvements by evolving its harness---the executable program governing model calls, tool use, verification, and recovery---without updating model weights. When the same harness serves users with different workloads, isolated evolution limits the sharing of useful discoveries, while centralized adaptation can introduce conflicting task-specific changes. We introduce EvolveNet, a framework for collaborative harness evolution that connects local specialization with shared capability accumulation. Clients evolve the same broadcast harness on their local workloads in parallel, and a server composes their adaptations into an updated shared program. Redistribution makes accepted discoveries available to all clients, allowing subsequent local evolution to build on improvements accumulated across the collaboration. EvolveNet supports this process through evidence-guided, scope-typed program aggregation and behavioral validation. Our theoretical analysis provides sufficient conditions for retaining and combining complementary improvements despite program interactions. Experiments across five settings show improved shared-harness performance, with ablation and behavioral analyses supporting the contribution of composition beyond specialist selection alone.

GPUMAP: GPU-Accelerated Progressive Uniform Manifold Approximation and Projection

Myeongwon Jung, Jaemin Jo

原文摘要

Dimensionality reduction (DR) techniques are fundamental to the analysis of high-dimensional data, yet their substantial computational cost limits their use in interactive settings. To address this limitation, we present GPU-accelerated Progressive Uniform Manifold Approximation and Projection (GPUMAP), an efficient progressive DR algorithm designed for interactive use. We identify three atomic operations within UMAP and restructure them into a progressive pipeline. As part of this adaptation, we introduce modifications to UMAP, including operation queues, instance-wise local join, and scheduling strategies. We further accelerate computation by leveraging GPU parallelism, enabling interactive analysis of million-scale datasets on commodity GPU hardware. Finally, we employ our implementation to systematically study the behavior of progressive DR, investigating how projections evolve over time relative to the ground-truth projection and how biased data streams influence the quality and stability of the resulting projections.

Interpretable Cutting Plane Selection for Mixed-Integer Linear Programming Using Genetic Programming

Gwen maudet, Mathis Da Cunha, Grégoire Danoy

原文摘要

Cutting planes (cuts) remove fractional solutions from mixed-integer linear programs (MILPs) without excluding any feasible integer solutions, making them a key ingredient in modern MILP solvers. Current state-of-the-art solvers rely on fine-tuned handcrafted cut strategies, which, despite their effectiveness, remain inherently static and can be suboptimal. More recently, learning-based approaches have been proposed to design adaptive cut strategies; however, most of these methods are based on neural networks, offering limited interpretability and providing no guarantees of convergence. In this paper, we propose \emph{Genetic Programming and Statistics-based Cut Selection} (GPSCS), the first learning-based framework that explicitly generalizes handcrafted cut selection heuristics into a fully interpretable policy. First, a genetic programming model evolves a symbolic scoring function that ranks candidate cuts using features derived from the cuts and the solving context. Second, a lightweight statistics-based mechanism adaptively determines the number of top-ranked cuts to add at each separation round by detecting significant score dropouts. We evaluate GPSCS within the SCIP solver on seven classes of synthetic and real-world benchmark instances, with a strong emphasis on generalization: evaluation instances are on average 41 times harder than those used for training. Experimental results show that GPSCS improves average solving time by $6\%$ compared to SCIP's default cut selection strategy and achieves a two-fold speedup over both a recent neural-network-based approach and a no-cut baseline, demonstrating strong robustness and generalization across heterogeneous MILP families.

TTHE: Test-Time Harness Evolution

Jun Nie, Yonggang Zhang, Jun Song, Qianshu Cai, Dahai Yu, Yike Guo, Xinmei Tian, Bo Han

原文摘要

The behavior of an LLM agent is determined not only by the underlying model, but also by its harness: the executable program that constructs context, invokes tools, verifies intermediate results, and recovers from failures. Existing approaches typically optimize harnesses on training or development data and freeze the resulting programs at test time, limiting adaptation to shifts in task distributions, failure modes, and tool interactions. We ask whether the harness can instead be optimized during evaluation using unlabeled execution traces. We introduce Test-Time Harness Evolution (TTHE), which treats the executable harness as the state of test-time adaptation. On each unlabeled test batch, TTHE iteratively evolves a population of candidate harnesses through agentic proposers that reason over execution traces and explore diverse edit directions. A judge selects a candidate using execution traces and execution-derived proxy signals. The selected harness determines the current batch's outputs and initializes adaptation on the next. Crucially, the solver, proposers, and judge operate through different harnesses around the same frozen LLM, without weight updates, access to final-answer labels, or a separately trained adaptation model. Across six execution-grounded benchmarks spanning text-to-SQL, competitive programming, software engineering, data-science coding, terminal-based tasks, and agentic tool use, TTHE improves fixed ReAct-style baseline harnesses through persistent, inspectable program adaptation. These results recast test-time adaptation for LLM agents as evolution over executable control programs and identify execution-derived proxy reliability as a central challenge for robust unsupervised agent improvement.

Mobility-Aware Mobile Edge Computing for Energy-Balanced Data Collection in IoT-Enabled Underwater Sensor Networks

Nguyen Thi My Binh, Do Dinh Hoan, Tong Tien Manh, Vu Minh Yen, Dang Trong Hop, Ho Viet Duc Luong

原文摘要

Underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs) face critical challenges in energy imbalance, connectivity, and data collection due to harsh environments. To address these issues, this paper focuses on the problem is how to achieve energy-balanced data collection in IoT-enabled UWSNs with a mobility-aware mobile edge computing (MEC), named MECEBDC. Unlike existing approaches, the proposed scheme jointly optimizes energy-aware clustering, cluster head selection, and AUV-assisted data collection. Furthermore, we design a novel metaheuristic-based AUV routing algorithm that incorporates realistic underwater mobility dynamics, explicitly considering gravitational pressure and buoyancy forces acting on the AUV. By leveraging the computing, storage, and mobility capabilities of MEC-enabled AUVs, the proposed approach enables efficient trajectory planning and adaptive data gathering in a stable 3D underwater environment. Extensive simulations and theoretical analysis demonstrate that the proposed method significantly reduces node energy consumption, improves data collection efficiency, and prolongs network lifetime compared with existing schemes, making it well suited for long-term underwater IoT applications.

Editing Large Language Models with Geometry-Aware Regularization

Bingqing Liu, Wei Liu, Jun Wang, Xiaobo Sun, Yuhua Li, Ruixuan Li

原文摘要

Knowledge editing has become a key technique for updating knowledge in large language models. However, existing methods neglect the geometric structure of the knowledge representation space, leading to two key limitations: they cannot distinguish which pre-trained knowledge should be preferentially preserved (core vs. non-core) nor which new edits are inherently difficult (hard vs. easy). To address this, we propose GEdit, a geometry-aware framework built on a Low-Rank Plus Diagonal (LR+D) factor model that captures the intrinsic low-rank structure of Transformer FFN hidden representations. GEdit features two complementary mechanisms. First, the low-rank regularization applies targeted protection on a low-rank core knowledge subspace. Second, the adaptive regularization dynamically adjusts the regularization strength based on each edit request's editability: relaxing constraints for hard edits to ensure success, and tightening them for easy edits to better preserve pretrained knowledge. Extensive experiments on GPT2-XL, GPT-J, and LLaMA-3-8B under large-scale editing scenarios, including both mini-batch and fully sequential editing settings with up to 10,000 continuous updates, show that GEdit consistently and significantly outperforms state-of-the-art baselines in both editing success and knowledge preservation.

Can Astra Solve RoboMME without Breaking the Bank?

Bingao Chen, Haoquan Fang, C. Karen Liu

原文摘要

Robotic manipulation often requires remembering information that is no longer visible, such as an object's location before occlusion or the order of a demonstrated action sequence. A large vision-language planner can read this history, but calling it before every action chunk is slow and costly. We present a three-tier system for the RoboMME benchmark. GPT-6 Astra (System 2) selects a grounded subtask from stored visual history, a $π_{0.5}$ vision-language-action policy (System 1) executes it, and a fine-tuned Qwen3-VL-4B monitor (System 1.5) checks after each action chunk whether the subtask is finished. The instruction is kept until the monitor reports completion or a task-specific event occurs, while the policy keeps acting on new observations. On RoboMME, the system succeeds in 79.13% of episodes with an average of 3.63 Astra calls and 80.84 seconds per episode. This is 34.62 points above the best published non-oracle baseline and 4.95 points below GroundSG+Oracle, which gives the low-level policy ground-truth subgoals.

Rohbau3D-Semantics: Dense Semantic and Instance Labels for Point Clouds of Indoor Shell Construction Scenes

Lukas Rauch, Thomas Braml

原文摘要

We present the Rohbau3D-Semantics dataset, which adds dense semantic and instance-level labels to laser scans of the previously released Rohbau3D domain data from shell construction sites. The dataset comprises 504 point cloud scenes from 14 survey sites, each captured with a terrestrial laser scanner and stored in a scanner-centered local coordinate system. Unlike point clouds sampled from reconstructed meshes or synthetic building models, the data preserve the characteristic properties of real laser scanning, including non-uniform sampling, measurement artifacts, reflections, and fine geometric detail. Combined with manual labels, expert oversight during pointwise annotation, and full-scene review, this yields a high-quality benchmark for semantic scene understanding in complex built environments. The dataset includes 17 class labels of building components and one background class, along with instance annotations for object-level analysis. In addition to the 3D point clouds, the release also provides scripts for deriving geometrically aligned panoramic and cube-map representations of color, LiDAR reflection intensity, depth, surface normals, semantic labels, and instance labels from the 3D arrays. We describe the acquisition pipeline, annotation protocol, quality-control process, and panorama-generation procedure, and provide benchmark splits and baseline experiments for semantic segmentation. By combining precise terrestrial laser scans, dense annotations, and a wide variety of shell-construction scenes, Rohbau3D-Semantics bridges the gap among synthetic indoor datasets, mesh-derived benchmarks, and smaller construction-specific resources. The dataset is intended to support research on 3D scene understanding, construction-site analytics, and multimodal scene analysis in the built environment. MM-VeriAgent: Learning to Use Extensive Tools to Verify Multimodal Misinformation with Reinforcement Learning

Peipei Li, Shuhan Xia, Shengyang Liu, Zekun Li, Ran He

原文摘要

Real-world multimodal misinformation often involves mixed forgery sources, requiring sample-specific detection strategies. Existing tool-augmented methods rely on predefined workflows or inference-time planning, limiting adaptability or increasing inference cost. To address this issue, we introduce \textbf{MM-VeriAgent}, which learns to verify mixed-source multimodal misinformation with tools. We first build \textbf{MM-VeriTools}, a specialized toolkit for misinformation detection agents. By benchmarking various candidate models and methods on the sub-tasks required by mixed-source detection, we select the strongest for textual, visual, and cross-modal forgery analysis and encapsulate them as callable tools with a unified interface. On top of this toolkit, we train the LVLM agent with reinforcement learning to teach it how to use these tools to better solve mixed-source detection. Since many of the tools are specialized models whose online execution at every rollout severely limits RL efficiency, we further introduce \textbf{Tool-Execution Cache}, which pre-executes candidate tool calls and reuses their cached outputs during training. This preserves multi-step rollouts while reducing online tool execution, largely improving the training efficiency.Experiments on MMFakeBench demonstrate substantial accuracy gains over the base model without explicit tool search at inference time. Ablation and efficiency analyses further validate the learned tool-use policy and show that Tool-Execution Cache reduces online tool executions during training.

Chiron: Cache Management Empowered by LLM Intelligence for AI Workloads

Bohan Zhang, Renshu Ge, Tianze Wang, Chen Chen

原文摘要

AI clusters keep data in remote object stores and rely on local caches to stop GPUs from waiting for data. A cache performs well only when its prefetching and eviction policies match the access pattern, yet these patterns differ across AI workloads and change between phases of one workflow. Existing methods either need code changes, which compromises user transparency, or use low-end heuristics, which cannot follow such changes. Large language models (LLMs) can infer access behavior without user hints, but direct LLM control of cache actions suffers from long reasoning delay, high token cost, and poor decision quality. We present Chiron, a cache system based on advisory switching control. An LLM asynchronously diagnoses the access pattern and recommends a policy. A deterministic harness gates this advice, executes expert-designed policies locally, and returns cache feedback for review. We implement Chiron atop JuiceFS and evaluate it on nine AI workloads. It reduces job completion time by 14.3-41.2% over the best baseline on popular AI workloads.

Bg-Mix: On Using Image Backgrounds for Data Augmentation in Electron Microscopy Images

Ankur Srivastava, Joana Sarah Grah, Katharina Ladewig, Nils Körber

原文摘要

Electron microscopy (EM) serves as a cornerstone in virology enabling the visualization of viral particles and is widely used in research, diagnostics and morphological characterization of pathogens. Computer-assisted image analysis can help facilitate and speed up this labor-intensive method, however, typical EM virus datasets are small and sparsely labeled, resulting in a lack of readily available deep learning models due to training limitations. To overcome data shortages and leverage content-rich, diverse sample backgrounds, we employed background-based data augmentation. To this end, we propose Bg-Mix, a form of data augmentation method, which decomposes training images into foreground objects and backgrounds and subsequently rearranges both into novel augmented images. This not only enhances the performance of object detection models but also increases the diversity of the training data. Using Bg-Mix provides an increase between +0.8 and +3.3 box mean average precision (mAP) points over the baseline when tested across two datasets using two architectures, thereby demonstrating its effectiveness.

SSFMamba: Learning Symmetry-driven Spatial-Frequency Modeling for Physically Consistent 3D Medical Image Segmentation

Bo Zhang, Yifan Zhang, Shuo Yan, Yu Bai, Zheng Zhang, Wu Liu, Xiuzhuang Zhou, Wendong Wang

原文摘要

Accurate 3D medical image segmentation requires a delicate balance between fine-grained local details and global contextual understanding. While spatial-domain models often struggle with long-range dependencies, existing frequency-based approaches frequently overlook intrinsic spectral properties such as Hermitian symmetry, leading to suboptimal feature integration. In this paper, we propose SSFMamba, a Mamba-based Symmetry-driven Spatial-Frequency fusion framework tailored for 3D medical imaging. Our architecture employs a complementary dual-branch design: the spatial branch models voxel sequences to preserve intricate anatomical textures, while the frequency branch operates on spectral components, each of which aggregates information from the entire volume, to capture global context. A core innovation is the 3D Multi-Directional Scanning Mechanism (MDSM), which integrates Hermitian symmetry with the causal nature of State Space Models (SSMs) to enable direction-aware global modeling. Crucially, by shifting the modeling focus to frequency-domain spectral components, SSFMamba captures the underlying structural characteristics of anatomical tissues. This leads to a highly adaptable framework that excels in both MRI and CT applications, regardless of the significant variations in intensity distributions. Extensive evaluations on the BraTS2020, BraTS2023, and BTCV datasets demonstrate that SSFMamba consistently outperforms state-of-the-art methods. Notably, our approach achieves exceptional performance on low-contrast organs such as the pancreas (81.97% Dice), underscoring its potential as a unified and physically consistent perception framework for diverse 3D clinical applications.

Network Intrusion Forensic Detection System with Explainable Artificial Intelligence and Digital Chain of Custody

Jose Luis Vela Alonso, Carmen Pellicer

原文摘要

Deploying an explainable intrusion detection model from a validated laboratory setting into a forensic workflow requires guarantees that benchmarks do not test: that the certified model is the exact artifact applied to a case, that heterogeneous evidence can be classified reliably, and that every step is verifiable. We present MODEXRE, a forensic pipeline that extends a previously validated synthetic-data-trained XGBoost classifier with SHAP explainability (arXiv:2607.00763) into a dual-mode architecture: a Laboratory mode, where models are trained and certified on public and synthetic data, and a Formal mode, where a frozen, hash-verified model performs inference on case evidence under a SHA-256 hash-chained chain of custody. Suricata alerts, CEF firewall logs and packet captures are normalized through OCSF. Four design decisions, each triggered by an observed failure, shaped the architecture: a timestamp leak that inflated Kitsune performance (F1-macro 0.984, 0.662 after correction); a feature-coverage gap that made the 78-feature reference model misclassify a real SSH alert; causal temporal flow aggregation, which raised Kitsune multiclass F1-macro from 0.394 to 0.932; and a certification defect, exposed only by a real packet capture, whereby the pipeline had always trained a binary classifier. After correction, the same capture went from 100% of events flagged as malicious to 87% classified as Normal, with the scanning host identified as Reconnaissance. The default four-class certified model reaches F1-macro = 0.9538 on CICIDS2017-derived evidence; the recertified 18-category model reaches 0.6214, reflecting the real multiclass task. Chain-of-custody verification, model integrity hashing and per-prediction SHAP explanations are reported as measured outcomes.

AURORA-LM: Autoencoding Unified Representation for Continuous-Latent Diffusion Language Modeling

Jiajun Liang, Yucheng Liao, Yukang Cao, Jiazhe Wei, Ken Li, Wende Tan, Jiankun Zhang, ZY Cui 等 15 位作者

原文摘要

Language remains an outlier in generative modeling: while images, video, and audio are increasingly modeled in continuous latent spaces, text generation still relies predominantly on discrete tokens. Existing continuous language models either inherit embedding spaces not designed for joint generation and decoding, or compress autoencoded latents to ease diffusion, sacrificing token-level fidelity. Instead of simplifying the representation to suit the generative model, we preserve a high-capacity, decodable text latent and design the diffusion model to learn its distribution directly. We introduce AURORA-LM, a continuous-latent diffusion language model that separates the construction of a decodable text representation from the modeling of its distribution. A Query-based Encoder-Decoder organizes text into a high-capacity, prefix-aligned latent sequence, and a Block-causal Diffusion Transformer learns its distribution through flow matching, generating blocks left to right while denoising positions within each block in parallel. Because such a latent is harder for diffusion to model, AURORA-LM restricts only the noisy-input pathway while retaining the full clean-latent prediction target, accommodating full-width latents without reducing decoder-facing capacity. We further calibrate the noise-level distribution to the latent width, and introduce self-trajectory consistency to bridge independently sampled training noise and iterative denoising at inference. AURORA-LM achieves the strongest performance among evaluated continuous and diffusion-based language models on OpenWebText free generation and XSum summarization. Scaling to 1B parameters with about 1500 EFLOPs of total compute yields further gains, surpassing a larger publicly released latent-diffusion language model under a matched evaluation protocol. All experiments are conducted on Ascend NPUs.

Power Grid Control with Graph-Based Distributed Reinforcement Learning

Carlo Fabrizio, Gianvito Losapio, Marco Mussi, Alberto Maria Metelli, Marcello Restelli

原文摘要

The necessary integration of renewable energy sources, combined with the expanding scale of power networks, presents significant challenges in controlling modern power grids. Traditional control systems, which are human and optimization-based, struggle to adapt and to scale in such an evolving context, motivating the exploration of more dynamic and distributed control strategies. This work advances a graph-based distributed reinforcement learning framework for real-time, scalable grid management. The proposed architecture consists of a network of distributed low-level agents acting on individual power lines and coordinated by a high-level manager agent. A Graph Neural Network (GNN) is employed to encode the network's topological information within the single low-level agent's observation. To accelerate convergence and enhance learning stability, the framework integrates imitation learning and potential-based reward shaping. In contrast to conventional decentralized approaches that decompose only the action space while relying on global observations, this method also decomposes the observation space. Each low-level agent acts based on a structured and informative local view of the environment constructed through the GNN. Experiments on the Grid2Op simulation environment show the effectiveness of the approach, which consistently outperforms the standard baseline commonly adopted in the field. Additionally, the proposed model proves to be much more computationally efficient than the simulation-based Expert method.

Digital sovereignty in professional translation workflows: a case study of migrating from Windows to Linux

Michael Farrell

原文摘要

This study examines digital sovereignty in professional translation through a screening of computer-assisted translation tools and translation management systems, and a case study of migrating a translator's workstation from Windows to Linux. The framework combines three principles - Control, Continuity and Exit - with three practical requirements: native Linux operation, independence from mandatory external services, and independent access to essential data and resources. Drawing on documentary evidence and the limited number of responses received from providers, the ecosystem screening distinguishes Linux accessibility from operational independence: browser-based platforms may remain dependent on provider-controlled infrastructure. The migration case demonstrates the feasibility of reconstructing one professional workflow around a locally operable Linux core, using LoopCAT, LibreOffice and locally run TranslateGemma, alongside tools for optical character recognition, communication, credential management and backup. Selected cloud services remained available where needed. The findings suggest that digital sovereignty depends on how workflow dependencies are organized, rather than on individual applications or operating systems. It does not require technological isolation, but meaningful control over essential components, continuity of work and practical exit options. The framework is tailored to the case examined here and may require adaptation to other professional workflows.

AssameseLM-E2B: An Open-Weight Assamese Language Model for Efficient Consumer-Grade Deployment

Pragyan Phukan

原文摘要

While Large Language Models (LLMs) excel in high-resource languages, their performance often degrades in low-resource languages due to tokenization inefficiencies, generative instability, and linguistic interference. This paper presents AssameseLM-E2B and its instruction-tuned variant, AssameseLM-E2B-it, a 2-billion-parameter model adapted specifically for low resource Assamese language. Built upon the Gemma-4 architecture, the model incorporates an expanded byte-level BPE vocabulary to reduce tokenization overhead by nearly 500% compared with multilingual 2B--3B baselines. We employ a parameter-efficient Continual Pre-Training (CPT) pipeline with Hybrid LoRA, followed by Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) on a balanced, multi-domain dataset to enhance instruction-following and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities. Evaluation demonstrates a Bits-per-Byte (BPB) score of 0.7488 on FLORES-200, alongside an overall RAG score of 96.7% and 100% refusal accuracy on adversarial unanswerable prompts. Comparative analysis reveals significant limitations in general-purpose baselines, including receptive-productive decoupling, generative degradation on Romanized Assamese, and unintended Bengali script assimilation. These results demonstrate the potential of parameter-efficient adaptation for developing capable, locally deployable language models for low-resource languages under constrained computational resources.

Reasoning-Aware Cross-Modal Association Unlearning in Multimodal Large Reasoning Models

Xinghao Li, Chenchen Tan, Youyang Qu, Shujie Cui, Xingliang Yuan, Cunjian Chen, Chi Liu, Longxiang Gao

原文摘要

Multimodal large reasoning models (MLRMs) integrate visual inputs with textual and parametric knowledge, allowing sensitive information to be accessed through cross-modal associations during reasoning. This raises privacy concerns when a visual input should no longer provide access to such information. Machine unlearning can remove this influence without retraining the model from scratch. However, multimodal unlearning methods mainly target samples, concepts, or knowledge content, without separating the knowledge from the cross-modal association through which it is accessed. In reasoning models, target information may disappear from the final answer while remaining in intermediate reasoning, or be replaced by incorrect substitute knowledge. We therefore study cross-modal association unlearning, where the forget target is a designated visual-to-knowledge association: the model should suppress target-bearing behavior under the designated visual context while preserving access to the same knowledge in permitted contexts. We propose Visual-Keyed Counterfactual Rebinding (VKCR), a parameter-efficient framework for cross-modal association editing. VKCR first localizes the edit to a compact association-conditioned parameter subspace. It then reduces support for the designated target at task outputs and counterfactually rebinds the affected reasoning behavior by discouraging target-bearing or unsupported continuations while favoring valid non-sensitive alternatives. We further introduce CLEAR-R and MLLMU-R to evaluate target leakage, hallucinated reassociation, reasoning preservation, and modality-specific utility. Experiments show that VKCR substantially reduces image-conditioned target leakage and hallucinated reassociation, including across heterogeneous task formulations, while preserving non-sensitive visual reasoning and permitted text-only knowledge.

FaCoDiff: Factor-Correlated Diffusion for Multivariate Probabilistic Forecasting

Jiaxuan Li, Yao Liu, Yuewei Xue, Shijie Dong, Zixiang Jin, Xiaoyu Guo, Qiao Liu

原文摘要

Multivariate probabilistic forecasting requires modeling cross-variable dependence alongside marginal uncertainty. The challenge is to learn this dependence while controlling marginal noise scales and avoiding dense covariance costs. We propose Factor-Correlated Diffusion (FaCoDiff), which couples a compact conditional statistical estimator with structured denoising. History-conditioned factor loadings use distinct coefficients for forecast-center correction, scale adjustment and noise dependence. Diagonal compensation preserves the estimated marginal noise variances, while low-rank operators enable residual Gaussian likelihood evaluation and noise transport without dense covariance storage or factorization. Factor-derived feature modulation explicitly conditions the denoiser, and a geometry-aware objective accounts for errors after noise transport. The same conditional geometry governs forward perturbations and reverse sampling. Across nine datasets, FaCoDiff achieves the lowest mean variogram score on eight datasets and ranks among the top two on 43 of 54 dataset-metric combinations in the reported comparisons. Matched ablations on Solar and Weather show that factor covariance improves mean Energy and Variogram scores under all four combinations of center and scale correction. Disrupting cross-variable sample pairings while preserving marginal trajectories worsens joint and aggregate scores on both datasets, demonstrating the predictive value of generated cross-variable dependence.

原文摘要

High-resolution video generation is expensive, as its cost grows rapidly with the number of spatiotemporal tokens. A practical alternative first generates a lower-resolution video and then applies a refiner, but conventional multi-step refinement introduces a second sampling bottleneck. We present SoL-Refiner, a one-step video refiner that transforms low-resolution model outputs into 4K videos with a single denoising step. Our three-stage recipe combines high-resolution continual training, reinforcement learning (RL) post-training, and a final one-step distillation. We introduce Refiner-Bench, a video refinement benchmark constructed from the outputs of different video generators, and use a shared-input protocol to compare refiners at approximately 2K output resolution. With LTX-2.3 Refiner as the base model, the one-step SoL-Refiner outperforms all external refiners at 2K on the VBench and UniPercept averages, while at $3840\!\times\!2176$ it improves both metrics over the three-step LTX-2.3 Refiner. With the complete acceleration stack, SoL-Refiner achieves an $8.91\times$ speedup in refinement latency over the same baseline in our 2K latency setting. With MiniMax H3 as the base model, SoL-Refiner produces 2K videos in three refinement steps and is preferred over the official MiniMax H3 2K API in 87% of user-study judgments.

This extended abstract discusses a specific and, in our experience, practically relevant role for large language models (LLMs) in underwater robotics. Our main premise is that, in underwater fielding missions, the immediate difficulty is often not the synthesis of new low-level control laws, but the operation of complex robotic systems under limited communications, partial observability, and expensive field time. In particular, a significant fraction of the effort during sea trials is devoted to fault diagnosis, telemetry interpretation, mission adjustment, and coordination across heterogeneous assets and operators. We argue that LLMs may be useful at this higher operational level, especially when grounded in structured vehicle state, alarms, logs, mission context, and existing planning or validation tools. At the same time, current limitations in grounding, consistency, and causal reasoning make these systems lack the predictability required to guarantee direct control, especially in real-world critical applications, although we do not exclude a future evolution in this direction. This viewpoint suggests a layered architecture in which conventional autonomy remains responsible for control, perception, estimation, and validated mission execution, whereas LLM-based modules serve as an additional support layer for debugging, operator interaction, constrained replanning support, orchestration, and post-mission analysis.

Fast and Memory-Efficient Wavelet Convolutions via I/O-Aware Reformulation

Amit Aflalo, Shahaf E. Finder, Roy Amoyal, Eran Treister, Oren Freifeld

原文摘要

Wavelet convolution (WTConv) has emerged as an increasingly popular drop-in replacement for standard convolutions, expanding a network's receptive field exponentially with the number of decomposition levels while keeping the parameter count linear. However, its reference implementation is severely memory-bound due to excessive data movement through high-bandwidth memory (HBM). We develop an I/O model of WTConv to characterize this bottleneck and use it to guide three algebraic reformulations: (1) recomputing the inexpensive Haar analysis butterfly on chip, (2) collapsing the multi-level synthesis cascade into a single closed-form pass indexed by output-coordinate bits, and (3) folding learned per-channel scales into the convolution weights. Together, these reformulations enable an I/O-aware fused implementation that substantially reduces HBM traffic. We evaluate the WTConvNeXt configuration across decomposition levels and a broad range of tensor shapes. Despite performing comparable arithmetic, the reference WTConv is substantially slower than the depthwise convolution it replaces. Our reformulation reduces modeled HBM traffic by approximately $2.55\times$, yielding up to a $4.35\times$ training speedup over the reference while roughly halving peak memory usage. Thus, our reformulation preserves the benefits of WTConv while substantially reducing its execution time and memory footprint, removing the systems overhead that previously limited its practical efficiency.

FutureLift: Lifting Trajectory Proposals into Bidirectional Future Graphs for Motion Forecasting

Daniel Grimm, J. Marius Zöllner

原文摘要

Accurate motion prediction is critical for safe autonomous driving, yet even strong forecasters leave residual errors in their multimodal proposals. Existing refiners compress complete proposals or update their segments sequentially, preventing the full proposed future from serving as explicit relational context for correction. We introduce FutureLift, a backbone-agnostic refiner that represents each multimodal proposal as a heterogeneous future graph, with spatially grounded temporal nodes connected to agent histories, map elements, alternative modes, and, for joint prediction, other agents future trajectories. Bidirectional temporal edges allow later evidence to revise earlier segments in a single pass, and the updated nodes predict residual coordinate and confidence corrections. Requiring only proposals, scores, and scene context, FutureLift provides a common refinement interface for structurally different forecasting backbones. On Argoverse2 and the Waymo Open Motion Dataset, it consistently improves frozen proposals and outperforms native and specialized refiners across marginal and joint forecasting. On the WOMD motion-prediction leaderboard, FutureLift ranks first in minADE (0.5049m) and minFDE (0.9942m) among the compared standard-input methods, without LiDAR or ensembling, while achieving a competitive 0.4874 Soft mAP.

When the Agent Learns Too: Learning to Incentivize with Unobserved Rewards

Ilgin Dogan, Zuo-Jun Max Shen, Anil Aswani

原文摘要

In practice, incentive providers (i.e., principals) often cannot observe the reward realizations of incentivized agents, which is in contrast to many principal-agent models that have been previously studied. This information asymmetry challenges the principal to consistently estimate the agent's unknown rewards by solely watching the agent's decisions, which becomes even more challenging when the agent has to learn its own rewards. This complex setting is observed in various real-life scenarios ranging from renewable energy storage contracts to personalized healthcare incentives. Hence, it offers not only interesting theoretical questions but also wide practical relevance. This paper explores a repeated adverse selection game between a self-interested learning agent and a learning principal. The agent tackles a multi-armed bandit (MAB) problem to maximize their expected reward plus incentive. On top of the agent's learning, the principal trains a parallel algorithm and faces a trade-off between consistently estimating the agent's unknown rewards and maximizing their own utility by offering adaptive incentives to lead the agent. For a non-parametric model, we introduce an estimator whose only input is the history of principal's incentives and agent's choices. We unite this estimator with a proposed data-driven incentive policy within a MAB framework. Without restricting the type of the agent's algorithm, we prove finite-sample consistency of the estimator and a rigorous regret bound for the principal by considering the sequential externality imposed by the agent. Lastly, our theoretical results are reinforced by simulations justifying applicability of our framework to green energy aggregator contracts.

DSRS: Teaching MLLMs to Perceive, Reason, and Segment in Complex Driving Scenes

Sicen Guo, Zhengfei Song, Kuanhsun Chen, Xu Huang, Ping Zhong, Wei Ye, Shaoyi Du, Rui Fan

原文摘要

Existing reasoning segmentation frameworks typically employ multimodal large language models (MLLMs) with broad world knowledge to extract semantics in a human-like manner and generate corresponding segmentation masks. Nevertheless, these frameworks lack the necessary scene-specific awareness. This paper introduces driving scene reasoning segmentation (DSRS), a scene-specific task that requires models to interpret implicit instructions, infer spatial relations, detect potential risks, handle challenging conditions, and comprehend underlying traffic rules, ultimately generating accurate segmentation masks. Meanwhile, we establish a benchmark dataset to facilitate future research on the DSRS task. To pioneer this task, we propose DSRS-Net, a novel architecture with advanced reasoning segmentation capability for automated driving. Specifically, DSRS-Net seamlessly infuses geometric features for deeper reasoning segmentation, without compromising the original multimodal fusion mechanism. This strategy effectively mitigates the modality representation mismatch in MLLMs caused by RGB-only pretraining, while enhancing the integration of geometric, contextual, and linguistic features. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superior performance of DSRS-Net in both driving scene reasoning segmentation and other language-driven segmentation tasks across various public datasets. The source code and dataset will be released upon publication.

Regret Bounds for Market Making with Persistent Orders

原文摘要

We study adversarial market making with orders that remain active until execution. The maker operates on two markets: a primary market where orders are made and a secondary market where the resulting positions are hedged. In each round, the maker posts a quote on the primary market before observing both primary and secondary market prices. An order executes when the primary price reaches its quote, and the resulting position is immediately offset at the secondary price. When both price sequences are chosen by an adversary over $T$ rounds, we give a simple deterministic policy with regret of order $\log T$ against the best fixed quote (static comparator) and $\sqrt T$ against the best quote for each submission date (dynamic comparator), plus two terms measuring exposure to future primary and secondary prices. These rates remain optimal even when both exposure terms vanish and lower bounds show that the exposure terms are necessary. Our policy naturally extends to simultaneous bids and asks, where we show that static and dynamic regret are both characterized (up to constant factors) by the exposures terms (where the primary price exposure $V_T^{\mathrm{two}}$ now accounts for both bids and asks) and a term of order $\sqrt{V_T^{\mathrm{two}}\log T}$. Our policy is simple, efficient and fully parameterless. We extend this setting by demonstrating how natural assumptions on the price processes lead to improved guarantees without changing the policy.

Selective Prediction Intervals: Jointly Learning to Predict, Bound, and Abstain

Lidor Rubi, Gilad Katz

原文摘要

Many high-stakes regression decisions ask three things of a model at once: a point estimate to act on, an interval that bounds the risk of acting, and the option to abstain when neither can be trusted. Deep learning provides these in isolation: prediction-interval methods return an interval, and at best a value estimate inside it, for every input, while selective-prediction methods learn when to abstain, but only for point predictions and with no statement of how far the truth may lie from the estimate. We introduce SelPI, which trains interval, value and abstention heads jointly under a single loss with an explicit acceptance-rate budget. A natural objection is that interval width already tells us when to abstain. We show that it does not: across 18 tabular benchmarks, width predicts large point errors well (AUROC 0.72) but is anti-correlated with interval misses (AUROC 0.38), so abstaining on wide intervals discards precisely the inputs the interval got right. SelPI therefore selects with two gates, one trained on the interval loss and one on the value loss, coupled by a Fr'echet penalty that ties their separate budgets to the joint acceptance rate they deliver. With the base predictor held fixed, the learned gate beats width thresholding on a proper interval score on all 18 tabular datasets, closing a median 87% of the gap to an oracle selector, and it also beats selection by deep-ensemble disagreement on every dataset. The advantage grows with the heteroscedasticity of the task, and we report the settings in which it disappears.

Evolutionary System Prompt Learning for Reinforcement Learning in LLMs

Lunjun Zhang, Ryan Chen, Bradly C. Stadie

原文摘要

Building agentic systems that can autonomously self-improve from experience is a longstanding goal of AI. Large language models (LLMs) today primarily self-improve via two mechanisms: self-reflection for context updates, and reinforcement learning (RL) for weight updates. In this work, we propose Evolutionary System Prompt Learning (E-SPL), a method for jointly improving a model's experiential context and its weights. In each RL iteration, E-SPL samples trajectories under multiple system prompts in parallel, then uses them to jointly update the weights with RL and evolve the system prompts with self-reflection. E-SPL encourages a natural division between procedural knowledge in weights and interpretable declarative knowledge in system prompts. Most notably, in an easy-to-hard generalization setting (AIME $\rightarrow$ BeyondAIME), E-SPL improves RL success rate from 38.8% $\rightarrow$ 45.1%. E-SPL also improves RL on AIME 2025 (56.3% $\rightarrow$ 60.6%), HMMT 2025 (50.0% $\rightarrow$ 52.7%), and agentic search (44.2% $\rightarrow$ 48.6% on gpt-oss-120b). Across all settings, E-SPL outperforms both RL-only and evolution-only baselines, demonstrating that weight updates and context updates are deeply synergistic and can together yield gains in generalization that neither achieves alone. Code is available at https://github.com/LunjunZhang/E-SPL.

CARM: Conformal Adaptive Risk Masking for Reliable Scientific Super-Resolution

Guangtao Zhang, Haonan Wu, Junxuan Gao, Zhengyang Liu, Zhaoxi Zeng, Zhihao Li, Jianguo Huang, Zhiqiang Liu

原文摘要

Deep learning-based super-resolution (SR) can reconstruct fine-scale Earth-observation fields from coarse observations, but reconstruction accuracy alone does not provide a calibrated rule for identifying reliable spatial regions. Conformal Mask Calibration (CMC), built on conformal risk control, converts a spatial uncertainty score into a trust mask and controls the expected worst-case local distortion under exchangeability. However, its fixed threshold can become miscalibrated in Earth-observation streams affected by seasonality and episodic events. We propose $\textit{CARM}$ (Conformal Adaptive Risk Masking), a statistical framework for adaptive spatial risk control under temporal distribution shift. CARM maintains experts with heterogeneous update rates and aggregates their threshold proposals online using an asymmetric surrogate loss, balancing rapid adaptation to distribution changes against stability during relatively stationary periods. All updates are causal and use only mature feedback available after a fixed delay, allowing CARM to operate with any SR model that provides a spatial uncertainty score. We prove that the time-averaged mask-conditioned risk converges to at most $α$ at an $O(1/T)$ rate, without distributional assumptions and for any choice of aggregation weights across experts. On a daily South China Sea chlorophyll-$\textit{a}$ SR stream, CARM reduces the empirical violation rate from $43.49\%$ to $9.38\%$ and the moving-average exceedance frequency from $47.29\%$ to $1.22\%$ at $α=0.10$, while retaining a non-trivial trusted region. Experiments on ERA5 wind and OSTIA sea-surface temperature further show consistent relative improvements across multiple SR backbones.
