FrontierPhysics: Evaluating Agents for End-to-End Physics Research

Bingran You, Wenjun Ke, Ria Rosenauer, Bo Liu, Wenbo Chen, Min Chen, Shuqi Xu, Yue Ma 等 72 位作者

AI agents are playing an increasingly important role in physics research. However, existing physics benchmarks only evaluate fixed questions, isolated sub-tasks, or paper reproduction with given solutions, and rarely check research quality alongside correctness. We introduce FrontierPhysics, an end-to-end benchmark with 56 tasks made by 42 physicists based on their own research, covering nine domains across theoretical, computational, and experimental physics. Each task requires agents to review the literature, develop a research plan, conduct research and experiments, and produce structured outputs and scientific manuscripts. Combining deterministic verifiers with expert-authored rubrics, FrontierPhysics evaluates whether agents' research is correct and publishable. Across 22 models in 26 configurations, no configuration passes more than 46 of its 168 rollouts. Manual review of agent trajectories shows that frontier agents' main weaknesses are insufficiently rigorous reasoning and limited expert intuition, rather than gaps in physics knowledge or execution errors.

Context-Aware Autoregressive Image Generation for Emerging Reasoning Properties

Jixuan Ying, Haoyu Liu, Timing Yang, Tingyu Zhu, Predrag Neskovic, Anand Bhattad, Cihang Xie, Zeyu Zheng 等 10 位作者

Autoregressive image generation has recently emerged as a competitive visual generation paradigm, yet its generation order is often predefined or heuristic, such as next-patch prediction, random-order prediction, or one-step generation for specific scales. We observe that these strategies can cause models to overlook important structural dependencies in images, thereby limiting both structural robustness and reasoning capability. In this work, we propose a context-aware autoregressive generation framework, where the model dynamically determines the next token location based on global context and current local information. Rather than following a fixed or random order, our method allows the generation process to adapt to image structure and semantic dependencies. Extensive experiments show that context-aware generation significantly improves structural robustness across different image AR paradigms, including masked autoregressive and scale-wise autoregressive models. Beyond quantitative improvements, we further observe emerging reasoning properties: the model can better understand complex semantic instructions and generate images that more faithfully follow the given guidance. These findings suggest that generation order is a critical yet underexplored factor in image autoregressive modeling, and that context-aware decoding can unlock stronger reasoning-aware visual generation capabilities. Towards On-Policy Data Evolution for Visual-Native Multimodal Deep Search Agents

Shijue Huang, Hangyu Guo, Guanting Dong, Chenxin Li, Junting Lu, Xinyu Geng, Zhaochen Su, Zhenyu Li 等 11 位作者

Multimodal deep search requires an agent to solve open-world problems by chaining search, tool use, and visual reasoning over evolving textual and visual context. Two bottlenecks limit current systems. First, existing tool-use harnesses treat images returned by search, browsing, or transformation as transient outputs, so intermediate visual evidence cannot be re-consumed by later tools. Second, training data is usually built by fixed curation recipes that cannot track the target agent's evolving capability. To address these challenges, we first introduce a visual-native agent harness centered on an image bank reference protocol, which registers every tool-returned image as an addressable <image:N> reference and makes intermediate visual evidence reusable by later tools. On top of this harness, On-policy Data Evolution (ODE) runs a closed-loop data generator that refines itself across rounds from rollouts of the policy being trained. This per-round refinement makes each round's data target what the current policy still needs to learn. The same framework supports both diverse supervised fine-tuning data and policy-aware reinforcement learning data curation, covering the full training lifecycle of the target agent. Across 8 multimodal deep search benchmarks, ODE improves the Qwen3-VL-8B agent from 24.9% to 39.0% on average. At 30B, ODE raises the average score from 30.6% to 41.5%. Further analyses validate the effectiveness of image bank reuse, especially on complex tasks requiring iterative visual refinement, while rollout-feedback evolution yields more grounded SFT traces and better policy-matched RL tasks than static synthesis.

Interactive World Simulation with Cosmos for Physical AI

NVIDIA, :, Anis Ahmad, Jon Allen, Malik Aqeel Anwar, Jesse Archer, Maciej Bala, Piotr Barejko 等 90 位作者

We present a shared framework that adapts Cosmos world foundation models for real-time interactive world simulation in Physical AI. By streaming visual observations in response to actions and scene controls, the framework enables users and embodied agents to interact with evolving virtual environments. It supports both predicting the visual consequences of actions and generating observations from physical state maintained by an external simulator. We demonstrate this approach across camera navigation and robot manipulation, controllable video transfer, and multi-view autonomous vehicle (AV) simulation. These examples provide a shared foundation for developing interactive virtual environments for Physical AI training and evaluation. Our code and model checkpoints are available at https://github.com/nvidia/cosmos and https://huggingface.co/collections/nvidia/cosmos3-examples. META-Robot: Self-Cognition and Capability Scaling in Agentic Robots

Xuanzhi Feng, Zeyu Liu, Weiheng Gao, Xinchen Li, Jiankun Tang, Fangqi Zhu, Quanxin Shou, Hao Chen 等 14 位作者

LLM-based robotic agent systems can generate programs for robot control, yet their generalization to new tasks often depends on elaborate scaffolding. Expanding their skill repertoires alone offers limited guidance on how to assess new capabilities or identify what remains beyond their reach. We introduce META-Robot, a framework that couples self cognition with capability scaling by expanding the criteria through which an agent evaluates and develops its skills. At its core, action-level predicates make execution outcomes explicit and available for LLM reasoning. The agent uses these assessments to identify its own limitations, extend relevant evaluation criteria, and guide the structured expansion of its skills. Proprioceptive feedback further grounds this process in the robot's physical state, enriching the evidence available for self-cognition. Experiments in simulation and on real robots demonstrate stronger overall task performance, generalization to new tasks, continued expansion of skills and evaluation criteria, and effective use of non-visual proprioceptive signals.

NanoKV: High-Ratio KV Cache Compression for Autoregressive Video Generation

Jiacheng Lu, Haoyi Zhu, Sipei Yi, Enze Xie, Cheng Zhuo, Yu Li

Autoregressive video models rely on historical key-value (KV) caches to preserve scene consistency over extended rollouts, making KV storage and repeated attention over history a growing memory and computational bottleneck. Aggressive compression can degrade generation quality, while reconstructing full-dimensional KV leaves attention computation largely unchanged. We introduce NanoKV, a frozen-backbone framework for generation-aware high-ratio KV compression. NanoKV exploits redundancy across tokens and attention heads by storing shared content in cluster centers and encoding joint head-channel residuals into low-bit coefficients. Crucially, NanoKV uses different fitting objectives for Keys and Values according to their distinct roles in attention: Key decoders are optimized to preserve downstream block outputs, whereas Value encoders and decoders are fitted for faithful reconstruction through the deployed quantization path. Building on the same compressed representation, the optional NanoKV-Fast variant reuses the stored coefficients for mixed-dimensional attention, reducing computation without modifying the video backbone. Across three autoregressive video backbones, NanoKV consistently improves the quality-storage trade-off. On HY-WorldPlay, NanoKV achieves $26.09\times$ effective KV compression, nearly twice that of KVTC, while improving PSNR by 1.0 dB. NanoKV-Fast retains $20.53\times$ effective compression and achieves an approximately $1.15\times$ end-to-end speedup over KVTC.

ReactWorld: Structuring Interaction Responses for Embodied Video Generation

Hanwei Liu, Huijia Zhang, Hanzhang Wang, Guangyu Liu, Hanbei Zhan, Linjie Hu, Bin Xiao, Xuan Zhou 等 9 位作者

Embodied video world models predict scene changes caused by robot actions, yet generated object responses may remain inconsistent with task intent and contact dynamics. Critical responses in embodied scenes often concentrate in local regions and specific time intervals. Inspired by chain-of-thought reasoning, we introduce ReactWorld, an embodied video generation model guided by structured interaction anticipation. In the generation backbone's feature space, an interaction response field predictor anticipates how the interaction will unfold, explicitly describing participant roles, future motion response intensity, and local motion changes. A response feedback adapter forms increments to object features from the difference between the object branch's outputs with predicted and zeroed local dynamics inputs. It also converts predicted displacements into positional biases for temporal attention. These two mechanisms guide object feature updates and information retrieval across frames, respectively. Through interaction anticipation and generative feedback, ReactWorld achieves an average score of 77.51 on RBench, outperforming PhysisForcing by 3.29 points with improvements in all nine categories. On EZS-Bench, it achieves a Domain score of 86.98 and an average score of 81.87.

Learning When to Think Aloud in Latent Reasoning

Zhehao Zhou, Tongrui Su, Shengyu Zhu, Da Li, Zeyu Liu, Jun Zhu, Xueqi Cheng

Latent Chain-of-Thought (CoT) reasoning improves efficiency by shifting intermediate computation into continuous hidden states. However, fully latent methods often struggle on precision-critical tasks such as mathematical reasoning, while existing hybrid approaches retain substantial token-generation overhead. We introduce VITAL, an importance-guided hybrid reasoning framework that selectively verbalizes informative tokens as reasoning anchors while keeping most computation latent. A lightweight gating head dynamically selects between explicit token generation and direct hidden-state feedback. VITAL constructs hybrid trajectories from explicit CoT using token- importance estimation and trains the model through curriculum-based supervised training, followed by reinforcement learning with a reward that balances correctness and conciseness. Experiments show that VITAL consistently out- performs existing fully latent reasoning methods, achieving relative average accuracy gains of 9.6% on GPT-2 and 5.1% on Llama-3.2-1B at comparable reasoning lengths. Compared with hybrid baselines, VITAL achieves higher reasoning accuracy with substantially shorter reasoning trajectories on Qwen3-1.7B.

TRACK: Multiple Instance Learning for Anti-Money Laundering in Transaction Networks

Seonkyu Lim, Inwoo Tae, Gwangui Hong, Jaehoon Lee, Jeongwhan Choi, Taehoon Kim, Min-Soo Kim, Yongjae Lee

Anti-money laundering (AML) investigations are organized around accounts, while the suspicious evidence for an account may reside in only a few of its transactions. Yet many account-level detectors summarize transactions before learning, and message-passing models may aggregate once more over neighboring accounts. We name this discrepancy the aggregation mismatch and study it under an account-window benchmark label defined by the presence of at least one flagged transaction. We recast account-level AML detection as multiple instance learning, in which an account-window is a bag and its transactions are instances. We propose TRACK, which encodes every transaction with a shared encoder and selectively pools the encodings into an account decision. To emulate coarse supervision, we withhold the transaction labels of five AML datasets from TRACK throughout training. Under a time-ordered protocol, TRACK achieves the highest average precision among the tabular and graph baselines trained from account labels on every dataset. Despite using only account-window supervision, it remains competitive with edge classifiers trained directly from transaction labels. Its instance scores also rank flagged transactions well above chance and approach or exceed directly supervised ranking performance across datasets.

Bridging the Modality Bottleneck in Pathology MIL through Molecularly Guided Feature Adaptation

Yucheng Xing, Pei Liu, Jingying Ma, Ruping Hong, Jiangdong Qiu, Tianyu Liu, Kai He, Ling Huang 等 9 位作者

Multiple instance learning (MIL) is the dominant framework for whole-slide image analysis in computational pathology, typically combining a frozen patch encoder, a projection layer, and a slide-level aggregator. While encoders and aggregators have been extensively studied, the projection layer remains a largely morphology-only bottleneck. This limits endpoints such as biomarker status and survival, which are governed by a molecular state that is not fully captured by H&E morphology. We introduce Molecularly Informed Staining Transform (MIST), a plug-in replacement for the MIL projection layer that uses paired spatial transcriptomics only during training to construct virtual molecular stains. MIST clusters gene expression profiles into cross-modal prototypes, anchors them in the frozen foundation model feature space, and uses them to reorganize H&E patch features along molecularly guided axes. It requires no transcriptomics at inference and can be inserted before standard MIL aggregators. We evaluate MIST across 23 downstream tasks and 8 MIL aggregators. MIST improves 240 of 256 configurations over the standard projection layer, with an average gain of +3.5%, observed consistently across endpoint types: +5.2% on survival prediction, +3.3% on tissue subtyping, and +2.6% on biomarker prediction. Ablations confirm that gene-derived prototypes are the primary source of the gains, while spatial, biological, and pathological analyses show that cross-modal prototype affinities capture spatially coherent molecular programs from H&E alone.

TraceCAD: Trace-Guided Repair for Agentic CAD Generation

Fengxiao Fan, Jingzhe Ni, Fan Sang, Xiaolong Yin, Yu Liu, Ruofeng Tong, Min Tang, Peng Du

LLM-based CAD agents produce executable parametric programs, but their correction loops may lose evidence about satisfied requirements, faulty operations, and prior repairs. We introduce TraceCAD, a recovery layer that links requested features, modeling steps, failure evidence, and candidate outcomes as persistent state. TraceCAD diagnoses likely faulty operations, searches bounded edits in their dependency regions, validates candidates through execution and preservation checks, and retains successful and failed repair outcomes in reusable skill memory. On DeepCAD-derived benchmarks with 200-model ablations and a 1K-model comparison, TraceCAD achieves competitive geometric quality in terms of IoU, Chamfer distance, and Hausdorff distance. Removing persistent state nearly halves recovery score; removing localized search more than doubles geometric regression and doubles code-agent invocations. Initializing the skill store on disjoint training models further reduces retries, token cost, and latency. These results demonstrate that persistent, localized, and reusable recovery improves final CAD quality and repair reliability.

How Unbalanced Must a Latin Rectangle Be?

Zhengyu Li, Vijay Ganesh

We view a $k\times n$ Latin rectangle as $n$ points in the grid $[n]^k$. Each symbol gives one point, whose coordinates are the columns it occupies. The rectangle is balanced when these points are pairwise equidistant in the $\ell_1$ metric. Its imbalance measures the distance from this ideal. We study the minimum imbalance from three sides. Constructively, we use a simulated annealing that moves symbols within rows and only penalises column clashes. Against the reference table of Voboril et al. (2025), it improves 33 of the 51 non-square values for $8\le n\le 13$, by up to 39.4%, and matches the rest. A cheap invariant, the row group, certifies that none of the 33 new rectangles is isotopic to rows of a group table, so the earlier column-swapping local search cannot reach any of them. Exactly, a computer-assisted branch and bound proves that the minimum imbalance of a $3\times 9$ rectangle is $56$. Díaz et al. found this value, but its optimality was open. A sharper pruning bound, derived from the identity $I=2\sum(d-t)^+$, reduces the search tree by a factor of $2.4$ to $3.3$ on the instances with $k\ge3$ that we solve. Asymptotically, the minimum imbalance is $Θ(n^3)$ for every fixed $k$. A pigeonhole argument gives a lower constant of order $k\,4^{-k}$, and random rectangles give an upper constant of order $\sqrt k$. For $k=2$, the limit of $\min I/n^3$ exists, a permuton attains it, and it lies between $4/375$ and $0.1196$. Perfect balance is an $\ell_1$-equilateral problem, so it forces $k=Ω(n/\log n)$ rows. For $2\times n$ rectangles, single two-minute annealing runs improve five of the seven six-hour MIP upper bounds for $14\le n\le 20$. Finally, the Lean 4 kernel checks every rectangle reported in this paper against a 74-line specification that imports only Lean's core library. We also prove the pigeonhole lower bound in Lean with Mathlib.

EchoNav: Evidential BEV Completion from Historical Observations for Visual Navigation

Diwen Liu, Yiyang Shao, Borui Wang, Chi Zhang, Jizhuo Chen, Jiaming Wang, Benyun Zhao, Zhongyu Li 等 9 位作者

Visual navigation in cluttered environments requires robots to recover previously observed structure and infer obstacles and free space that remain occluded. We present a framework that combines temporal aggregation and occupancy completion in an evidential bird's-eye-view (BEV) representation predicted from short RGB sequences. A decoder adapts frozen VGGT-Omega features and combines historical residual proposals using cellwise weights and a learned no-update option. The BEV predictor produces a local map in the latest ego frame without depth or camera-pose inputs or explicit geometric warping. The evidential model treats observed free space separately and predicts occupancy with associated confidence across the remaining supported region. We train the predictor on simulated RGB sequences paired with complete and visibility-masked occupancy annotations. Our experiments evaluate navigation in simulation and on a wheeled robot, with additional demonstrations on quadruped and humanoid robots. In simulated sequential two-goal navigation, our system achieves 86.3% success, outperforming the strongest evaluated baseline by 32.2 percentage points. Across 60 wheeled-robot trials in 20 scenes, it achieves 73.3% success, compared with 33.3% for the strongest evaluated baseline.

Physical-Layer Anonymous Communication Design Under Symbol-Aware Identification and Transmitter-Dependent Noises

Yu Li, Milad Tatar Mamaghani, Xiangyun Zhou, Nan Yang

Physical-layer characteristics, such as channel state information (CSI) and transmitter noise induced by hardware impairments, are often uniquely associated with a transmitter. This paper investigates transmitter anonymity at the physical layer from a signal design perspective. We consider an anonymous communication problem where the receiver should reliably decode the signal from the transmitter but should not make use of the signal to infer the transmitter's identity. Transmitter anonymity is quantified using a Kullback-Leibler divergence (KLD)-based metric, which enables the formulation of explicit anonymity constraints in the precoder design. We then develop a transceiver design that preserves reliable communication under spatial multiplexing while preventing transmitter identification. The proposed framework employs a partitioned equal-gain combining (P-EGC) scheme that leverages receiver diversity without requiring transmitter-specific CSI. Simulation results demonstrate anonymity-reliability tradeoffs across different signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs), numbers of data streams, and alias selection methods. Moreover, the results reveal opposite trends of anonymity with respect to transmitter-dependent noise variations in the low-SNR and high-SNR regimes.

When Does Better Confidence Improve a Knowledge-Graph Audit?

Zehao Lin, Kai Chen, Xixuan Hao, Erenkai Zhu, Chunyu Li, Helan Hu

Confidence estimates guide human review in LLM-built knowledge graphs, but better error prediction can yield little improvement in an audit. We study this gap through repairability, selection headroom and label validity. Modelling non-adaptive auditing as budgeted covering, we characterise the minimal decision-relevant error statistics and bound the regret of scalar-preserving first-order planning by a structural mass $Δ^{\mathrm{cl}}$. We simulate ideal repair against benchmark-aligned labels for five extraction configurations and two cross-document graphs on Re-DocRED, followed by frozen confirmation on test and replication on 500 hash-selected training documents. On the held-out cross-document graphs, an error-rate $\times$ fan-out queue leaves 3.98-4.74 percentage points more errors than a joint model with the same actions. By comparison, opening shared actions for that joint planner reduces residual errors by 0.89-1.43 points relative to its own fact-only plans, in point estimates. Equivalence between joint and independent-block models remains inconclusive. Generic LLM verification improves three of four model-budget configurations on each held-out set. LLM adjudication identifies possible benchmark omissions.

AutoBCI: Forecast-Guided Agentic Neural Architecture Discovery for EEG-Based Brain-Computer Interfaces

Muyun Jiang, Yi Ding, Wei Zhang, Jinbo Chen, Chenyu Liu, Zhenjie Yang, Yuxin Li, Jingyuan Chen 等 12 位作者

EEG-based brain-computer interfaces support a broad range of applications, yet designing decoding architectures that perform well across diverse tasks remains challenging. We introduce AutoBCI, an agentic framework in which a Designer Agent and a Forecaster Agent support the discovery and selection of EEG decoding architectures across tasks. The Designer Agent performs Pool-Guided Architecture Discovery (PGAD), generating and refining architectures through training and validation across multiple EEG tasks, such as emotion recognition, motor imagery, and sleep staging. The Forecaster Agent performs Performance Estimation from Early Knowledge (PEEK), using architecture code, the training protocol, and early learning curves to predict full-budget validation performance and select promising candidates for continued training. Across 14 EEG datasets spanning motor imagery, emotion recognition, and sleep staging, we evaluate AutoBCI with six LLMs, including Opus 5.5 and GPT 5.6 Sol, and compare the architectures selected by the search procedure against ten baselines: six conventional EEG models and four foundation models. The architecture discovered by AutoBCI with Claude Opus 5.5 achieves 64.16% average test balanced accuracy (bAcc), compared with 63.87% for REVE, the strongest baseline on this metric. Using ten observed epochs, PEEK reduces mean absolute error in predicting average validation bAcc from 2.20 to 1.36 percentage points, a 38.1% reduction relative to the best-observed-score baseline. Your Trust, Your Terms: A General Paradigm for Near-Instant Cross-Chain Transfer

Di Wu, Jingyu Liu, Xuechao Wang, Jian Liu, Yingjie Xue, Kui Ren, Chun Chen

Cross-chain transactions today remain slow, costly, and fragmented. Existing custodial exchanges expose users to counterparty and centralization risks, while non-custodial liquidity bridges suffer from capital inefficiency and slow settlement; critically, neither approach guarantees users a unilateral path to recover assets if the infrastructure fails. We introduce the Delegated Ownership Transfer (DOT) paradigm, which decouples key ownership from value ownership to enable secure, high-performance cross-chain payments. In DOT, a user deposits funds into a sandboxed on-chain Temporary Account (TA) (value ownership) while delegating its private key (key ownership) to an abstract Trusted Entity (TE). Payments and swaps are thus reframed as near-instant, off-chain ownership handoffs. Security follows from dual guarantees: the TE's exclusive control prevents double-spending, while a pre-signed, unilateral recovery transaction ensures users retain ultimate authority over their assets. Building on this foundation, we design a novel off-chain atomic swap that executes optimistically in near real time and remains fair even if the TE fails. We formalize the security of DOT in the Universal Composability framework and present two concrete instantiations: a high-performance design based on Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) and a cryptographically robust variant leveraging threshold cryptography. Our geo-distributed prototype shows that cross-chain payments complete in under 16.70 ms and atomic swaps in under 33.09 ms, with costs fully decoupled from Layer-1 gas fees. These results provide a practical blueprint for building secure, efficient, and interoperable cross-chain payment systems.

CATF:面向上下文感知时间序列预测的经理-工人框架

CATF: A Manager-Worker Framework for Context-Aware Time-Series Forecasting

Yueqiao Chen, Dongyu Liu

AI 速览:提出一种基于 Manager-Worker 架构的上下文感知时间序列预测框架,用 Transformer 经理按上下文硬路由到单个专家工人,使任意单模型预测器无需人工划分数据即可实现专业化。

We study context-aware time-series forecasting, in which a single target variable is predicted from its own history and a set of contextual variables, such as weather and calendar information. As the context becomes more diverse, a single model struggles to capture all of its regimes, while ensemble learning and Mixture-of-Experts approaches rely on manual data partitioning or soft routing, which increases the inference cost and hinders interpretability. We propose CATF, a Context-Aware Time-Series Forecasting framework built on a Manager-Worker architecture: a Transformer-based Manager routes each input to a single Worker based on the context, using hard routing during both training and inference. The Workers thus specialize without manual data partitioning, and any single-model forecaster can serve as a Worker. On five context-rich datasets, four horizons, and two normalization schemes, CATF improves over its standalone counterpart in 162 of 200 comparisons, the best CATF-enhanced model outperforms the best standalone baseline in 19 of 20 settings, and it outperforms the zero-shot Time-MoE foundation model in 15 of 20 settings. A case study on bike-sharing data shows that the Manager routes inputs by the calendar and that each Worker specializes in a different weekly pattern.

AI 速览:作者提出首个面向多模态有状态交互的大规模多轮对话数据集 YANAMI-400K 与评测基准 YANAMI-Bench,并报告微调 BAGEL 后在图像编辑、生成与有状态交互上均有提升。

Unified Multimodal Models (UMMs) integrate visual understanding, generation, and editing within a single unified framework. However, existing unified multimodal datasets and benchmarks remain dominated by single-turn tasks. Even in recent multi-turn datasets, many turns can be solved independently without tracking information across turns. Consequently, they provide limited supervision and evaluation for multimodal stateful interaction, which requires models to understand, maintain, update, and faithfully realize evolving dialogue states across turns. To address this gap, we introduce YANAMI, the first large-scale multimodal dialogue dataset and benchmark for stateful interaction, comprising YANAMI-400K and YANAMI-Bench. YANAMI-400K contains 400K multi-turn multimodal dialogues, with more than 2M images and 2.6M dialogue turns. The dialogues span four representative scenarios: Multi-Image Fusion, Image Editing, World Modeling, and Visual Reasoning, and require models to continuously track, preserve, and revise evolving multimodal dialogue states across turns. YANAMI-Bench comprises 400 multi-turn dialogues for systematically evaluating multimodal stateful interaction. It jointly evaluates Dialogue State Understanding and Visual Realization, characterizing the gap between models' ability to understand evolving dialogue states and their ability to faithfully realize them in visual outputs. Experiments show that fine-tuning BAGEL on YANAMI-400K improves image editing, generation, and multimodal stateful interaction by 10.3%, 2.0%, and 13.23%, respectively, while preserving its general visual understanding capabilities. Evaluations on YANAMI-Bench further reveal that existing UMMs still struggle to maintain, update, and visually realize evolving multimodal dialogue states.

AI 速览:iGC 是一个两阶段强化学习框架,先学习体细胞超突变先验,再在抗原特异性亲和力优化中结合 KL 正则与奖励税元梯度,以兼顾生物学合理的突变与结合优化。

Antibody affinity maturation is a natural optimization process in which B cells acquire mutations through somatic hypermutation (SHM), undergo selection for improved antigen binding, and iteratively evolve toward higher affinity. Computationally modeling this process requires capturing both biologically plausible mutations and antigen-specific selection. However, existing mutation models do not directly optimize binding, while affinity optimization often neglects realistic mutation trajectories. We introduce iGC (in silico Germinal Centers), a two-stage reinforcement learning (RL) framework for antigen-specific antibody optimization. Stage 1 learns an SHM mutation prior from parent-child pairs in B-cell lineage trees and adapts it to a target affinity-maturation dataset. Stage 2 initializes an RL policy from this prior and optimizes antigen binding with Kullback-Leibler (KL) regularization toward the frozen prior. To prevent reward exploitation, including repetitive high-reward substitutions and structurally tolerated framework mutations, we introduce a Reward-Tax Meta-Gradient objective. RewardNet smooths the affinity landscape, while TaxNet penalizes reward overexploitation, jointly defining a learned meta-reward for policy optimization. We evaluate iGC on mutation prediction, SHM consistency, affinity optimization, and mutation diversity. The mutation prior more than doubles the strongest baseline in mutation-site prediction. Following RL optimization, iGC maintains SHM sequence structure. It also achieves a strong exploration-exploitation balance, yielding competitive reward-diversity products across candidate-selection cutoffs. These results demonstrate that iGC integrates biologically plausible mutation generation with antigen-specific affinity selection, providing an in silico framework for iterative antibody affinity maturation.

Almost Sure Convergence Rates of Stochastic Approximation and Reinforcement Learning via a Poisson-Moreau Drift

Xinyu Liu, Zixuan Xie, Shangtong Zhang

Establishing almost sure convergence rates for stochastic approximation and reinforcement learning under Markovian noise is a fundamental theoretical challenge. We make progress towards this challenge for a class of stochastic approximation algorithms whose expected updates are contractive, a setting that arises in many reinforcement learning algorithms such as $Q$-learning and linear temporal difference learning. Specifically, for a power-law learning rate $O(n^{-η})$ with $η\in (1/2, 1)$, we obtain an almost sure convergence rate arbitrarily close to $o(n^{1 - 2η})$. For the harmonic learning rate $α_n=α/(n+1)$, the almost sure squared-error rate is $o(n^{-ζ})$ for every $ζ<\min\{1,2(1-κ)α\}$, where $κ$ is the contraction factor. Thus exponents arbitrarily close to one are available when $2(1-κ)α\geq1$. This approaches the $n^{-1}$ polynomial exponent of classical law-of-the-iterated-logarithm benchmarks. Key to our analysis is a novel Lyapunov drift construction that applies a Poisson-equation based correction for Markovian noise to the well-established Moreau-envelope smoothing for the contractive mapping.

Diffusion-DRF: Free, Rich, and Differentiable Reward for Video Diffusion Fine-Tuning

Yifan Wang, Yanyu Li, Gordon Guocheng Qian, Sergey Tulyakov, Yun Fu, Anil Kag

Video diffusion alignment has been heavily relied on scalar rewards. These rewards are typically derived from learned reward models in human preference datasets, requiring additional training and extensive collection. Moreover, scalar rewards provide coarse, global supervision, offering limited prompt-generation mismatch credit assignment and making models prone to reward exploitation and unstable optimization. We propose Diffusion-DRF, a free, rich, and differentiable reward framework for video diffusion fine-tuning. Diffusion-DRF employs a frozen, off-the-shelf Vision-Language Model (VLM) as the critic, eliminating the need for reward model training. Instead of relying on a single scalar reward, it decomposes each user prompt into multi-dimensional questions with freeform dense VQA explanation queries, yielding information-rich feedback. By direct differentiable optimization over this rich feedback, Diffusion-DRF achieves stable reward-based tuning without preference datasets collection. Diffusion-DRF achieves significant gains both quantitatively and qualitatively, outperforming state-of-the-art Flow-GRPO by 4.74% in overall performance on unseen VBench-2.0.

MathlibPR: Pull Request Merge-Outcome Benchmark for Formal Mathematical Libraries

Zixuan Xie, Xinyu Liu, Shangtong Zhang

The ecosystem of Lean and Mathlib has become the de facto standard for large language model (LLM) assisted formal reasoning with remarkable successes in recent years. Those successes, however, only consume Mathlib as an essential dependency but do not directly contribute to it. In the meantime, the growth of Mathlib has recently been bottlenecked by the review process, which requires human reviewers to judge whether proposed pull requests (PRs) follow the Mathlib's conventions and are worth integrating as part of a shared mathematical infrastructure. This leads to our central question: can LLMs help review Mathlib PRs? To this end, we introduce MathlibPR, a benchmark built from real Mathlib4 PR histories. We further propose a staged evaluation protocol and use it to evaluate both LLM models (e.g., DeepSeek, Qwen, Goedel, and Kimina) and LLM agents (e.g., Codex and Claude Code). Surprisingly, both LLM models and LLM agents struggle to distinguish merge-ready PRs from build-passing PRs that were revised or never merged. By turning Mathlib PR histories into a supervised signal, MathlibPR provides a step toward reviewer assistants and reward models that could help evaluate PRs and steer LLMs toward producing merge-ready Mathlib contributions.

DeliverBench: Benchmarking AI Agents on Delivering Realistic Multi-Stage Professional Projects

LLM agents are judged by what they deliver, and in professional work what gets delivered is a project, not a task. A project pays off only if the whole package holds, and one weak part can limit the value of the rest. Yet existing benchmarks mostly test agents on one task at a time, leaving a gap between the capability we measure and the outcome that makes agents useful. To address this gap, we introduce DeliverBench, which tests whether agents can carry a project from brief to final delivery. Its 11 projects, spanning financial due diligence, legal contract drafting, and drug safety reporting, are reconstructed with 13 domain experts from real materials and chain 150 subtasks through 2-15 rounds of new materials and client feedback. Because no reference outputs are injected, agents inherit their own errors from one task to the next. Expert rubrics then score every checkpoint as well as the final package. Across seven model-harness systems, even the best system scores only 65.0 out of 100 on final delivery and passes 50.0% of subtasks at a 90-point threshold. The failures are often failures of carrying work forward: in one audit project, all seven systems addressed the review findings, but only one preserved traceability. Together, these results suggest that task-level capability does not simply compose into delivery, which also depends on keeping the work coherent as it evolves.

Behind Video Generation: Observations and Insights on Multimodal Understanding from Kling

Video generation has progressed from isolated clips to coherent short-form audiovisual sequences, and the bottleneck is shifting from rendering to semantic control. This report summarizes the observations and insights on multimodal understanding gained from successive generations of Kling. We argue that generation quality is the projection of multimodal understanding through the entire data--conditioning--alignment--evaluation chain, and we examine this chain module by module. Kling-MLLM, a shared multimodal foundation model that unifies image, video, audio, synchronized audio--video, and interleaved inputs, is specialized for each downstream module. Because a DiT is trained on far fewer training samples than a language model, we treat captioning as a semantic contract that maximizes description density, and extend it to reference-grounded captioning that makes reference bindings explicit. Prompt enhancement translates user intent into this caption distribution: basic PE is derived from captions of compelling videos and refined with text-level and generator-in-the-loop reinforcement learning, while agentic PE refines the story and retrieves compelling examples. We show that a reliable text encoder comes from perceptual training rather than from stronger language ability, and that candidates can be screened from text alone before end-to-end training. Reward modeling pairs a general reward model for explainable, localized critiques with a decision reward model for fast multidimensional scoring, treating perceptual bandwidth as a first-class design parameter. Finally, we review task-specific automatic evaluation, focusing on protocols that expose scoring shortcuts and help trace failures to their upstream source. We hope these lessons offer practical guidance for building the understanding stack behind controllable video generation.

Auditing Provenance Sensitivity in LLM Agent Action Selection

Junchi Liao, Qiang Huang, Rui Qian, Xutao Mao, Juntao Cheng, Kangning Cui, Yu Li, Jingyu Sun 等 9 位作者

LLM agents choose tools and arguments from context that mixes user requests, tool outputs, retrieved records, memory, and untrusted text. Evidence can be relevant without being authorized to determine a decision, so a correct action need not be grounded only in permitted evidence. We introduce a target-specific authorization audit that labels context factors separately for each tool and argument target. Its primary test holds the task, proposition, position, and policy fixed while changing only the proposition's source authority. We then test behavior when valid evidence is weakened and use context-subset interactions as a secondary localization diagnostic. Across 450 controlled next-action tasks and multiple open-weight LLM families, trusted and untrusted variants produce different actions in 5.4 percent of competing cases versus 1.7 percent of supporting cases. Under controlled degradation, unauthorized competition is retained in a full-correct, mixed-error, clean-correct pattern in 2.4 percent of comparisons, with a 95 percent confidence interval from 2.1 to 3.0 percent. These are controlled stress-set rates, not deployment prevalence. The models respond to textual source-authority cues, but this does not prevent untrusted evidence from influencing their actions.

Beyond Isolated Dots: Benchmarking Structured Table Construction as Deep Knowledge Extraction

Tianyun Zhong, Guozhao Mo, Yanjiang Liu, Yihan Chen, Lingdi Kong, Xuanang Chen, Yaojie Lu, Hongyu Lin 等 12 位作者

Large language models (LLMs) are increasingly expected to extract and synthesize structured information from complex real-world documents, yet they typically produce unstructured, hard-to-verify paragraph-style outputs. We introduce AOE (Arranged and Organized Extraction), a bilingual benchmark that evaluates LLMs' ability to distill long-form, multi-document inputs (64k to 1.8M tokens) into structured tables. AOE comprises 12 tasks across four domains (academic, financial, legal, and medical), each grounded in genuine analytical needs, with schema guidance provided to isolate extraction quality from formatting variance. We evaluate 12 frontier LLMs (both open-weight and proprietary) under four generation settings of increasing autonomy: direct full-document input, RAG-based retrieval, offline document-browsing agent, and online web-search agent. Even the best-performing model achieves only 42.7% Cell F1, and retrieval-augmented approaches often degrade rather than improve performance, revealing that structured extraction from long contexts remains a fundamental challenge - an "Area of Effect" (AOE) that impacts all tested systems.

SCANO: Restoring Boundary-Condition Completeness in Sampled Meshes with a Sliced-Cross-Attention Neural Operator for 3D Thermal Fields

Tianyu Li, Zhiwei Cao, Qingang Zhang, Ruihang Wang, Binyang Song, Yonggang Wen

Training neural operators on million-cell meshes can exceed GPU memory limits. Models are therefore trained on subsamples and deployed on whole meshes or selected regions. However, subsampling can distort boundary information, degrading accuracy. We ask when boundary conditioning under sampling stays consistent with whole-mesh training, and how to aggregate and inject boundary data. Representing the solution as an integral of boundary data against type-dependent measures, we show that subsampling distorts this conditioning in three ways: incomplete boundary coverage or a sample-dependent global state, face weighting by count rather than area, and compression of boundary inputs into a low-dimensional vector. This analysis yields four measurable consistency conditions checkable before training. We satisfy them with two backbone-agnostic modules. Boundary Quadrature Attention (BQA) aggregates all boundary faces, typed and area-weighted, into slice tokens that every query point reads at every layer. Anchored Global State (AGS) estimates the global state from anchors independent of the sampled points. Adding both to a scalable message-passing and slice-attention backbone yields SCANO. We evaluate the approach on controlled and public benchmarks and a data-centre thermal simulation dataset (DCTS) containing million-cell meshes. On both benchmarks, BQA improves every backbone, reducing whole-mesh error up to 15-fold. On all three datasets, AGS aligns regional with whole-mesh predictions, cutting regional error at least tenfold for most backbones on the public benchmark. Together, the modules nearly halve the best original backbone's whole-mesh error on both benchmarks. SCANO predicts a room-scale field in under one second, over 100 times faster than whole-room anchor self-attention.

TME-ContextNet: Class-Conditioned Spatial Supervision and Grouped Decoding for Joint Nuclei Instance Segmentation and Classification

Rukang Ma, Bingxue Wang, Liwen Zou, Yingying Cao, Zhenghua Cai, Yu Li, Dong Wang, Huiyu Zhou 等 9 位作者

Joint nuclei instance segmentation and classification requires precise boundaries and neighborhood information that helps distinguish morphologically similar cell types. We present TME-ContextNet, a multi-task framework that learns class-conditioned spatial context from existing nuclear annotations and organizes decoding into geometry-related and semantic task groups. Class-conditioned spatial supervision extends nuclear labels into a dense target using Euclidean distance transforms, requiring no additional tissue-region annotation. We derive its nearest-region interpretation and characterize its stability to small annotation perturbations. A local--global context module combines dilated convolution and self-attention, while a grouped task decoder reduces redundant computation. The spatial head supplies training supervision and is omitted during inference. Experiments on PanMix, CoNSeP, and PanNuke yield Dice scores of 80.23%, 65.32%, and 79.13%, and mean multi-class panoptic quality (mPQ+) scores of 58.67%, 35.50%, and 43.74%, respectively. PanNuke results are averaged across three test folds. Target and decoder controls support the combination of distance-based supervision and grouped decoding while identifying their dependence on task configuration. The framework uses 36.40 million parameters, compared with 54.74 million for HoVer-Net. These findings support a compact, context-aware formulation for joint nuclei analysis in computational pathology.

ReListen: Training-Free Evidence Localization in Hour-Long Audio with Frozen Audio Language Models

Ming-Hao Hsu, Shujie Liu, Yuxuan Hu, Yuxiang Wang, Yingda Shen, Jinyu Li, Zhizheng Wu

Audio language models are meant to answer questions from the audio itself, but an hour-long recording rarely fits in their context, and the answer often depends on a few seconds of it. Transcribing the recording first makes it fit but discards sounds and voices, while systems that return to the audio must be trained for this behavior. We propose ReListen, a training-free method in which a frozen audio language model finds its own evidence before answering. In a Jev-style scan, the model scores each 20-second window by the probability that it helps answer the question, and it then answers from the highest-scoring minute. This minute overlaps the annotated evidence far more often than transcript retrieval, for 88.5% of VoiceGiraffe questions. Without any change, the same scan also grounds events on LAT-Bench as well as a model trained for temporal grounding. Answering from it matches or exceeds hearing the whole recording with a small fraction of the audio, and on VoiceGiraffe it exceeds a transcript of the whole recording by 9.2 points. The selected evidence is also worth hearing rather than reading. Given the same excerpts, reading their transcript matches listening on speech content, but listening is clearly more accurate on questions about sounds and voices. Moreover, ReListen answers faster than every transcript-based system, and its memory stays constant even for recordings too long to hear whole on one GPU. Therefore, a frozen audio language model can search hour-long recordings by itself, without a transcript or additional training.
